CHAPTER TWELVE
It had been three days since Liz’s accident with the hook and her fin was making a slow recovery.
She and Max had spent every afternoon together and most nights he didn’t leave until the early hours of the morning.
Liz enjoyed his company, but most of all she loved the way he treated her, even as a mermaid he treated her as if she was a queen.
Always bringing her food and flowers, even though she had explained to him that she had nowhere to put the flowers he just told her that she deserved them.
She still didn’t like the idea of Max breaking the spell. She wasn’t sure if what Tess was telling her was true.
What if there was more to it?
What if when the man that falls in love with her kisses her, he turns into a merman?
She would never wish that upon Max, she loved him with all her heart and just wanted him to be happy. But when asking Max various times if he was happy he always replied ‘Only when I’m with you’.
It filled Liz’s heart with so much love that it sometimes hurt that she was unable to have someone to share her feelings with.
She longed to see her dad and to make sure that he was alright; she longed to tell him all about Max and how she believed that he might be the one for her.
She knew that if her father was here he would have all the answers she was looking for and that they would all lead to following her heart and that would lead to Max.
The thoughts of her father still made Liz’s heart weak; she wanted to know what he had been doing, if he had missed her.
She wanted to make sure that he knew that she didn’t run away from home and that she never would.
She wanted to make sure that Tess got what she deserved.

Tess had thought that after getting rid of Liz that everything would have been smooth sailing.
Man was she wrong.
It had been close to three weeks that the little brat had been gone for and Jeff would not stop looking for her, even in his ill state.
In one way she was happy thinking that he would tire himself out so much that he would eventually fall and die, but in another way she feared that he wouldn’t give up until he found her.
Her thoughts of him taking her name out of the will were wrong, because he never even thought of the possibility that she would have run away, which made Tess’s job much harder because now she even had to play the role of the sad mother, worried for her daughters well being.
She just hoped that Liz would get out of the picture and soon, Jeff needed to know that his little girl was not coming back no matter what he did.
That bitch was history!
