Maria turns to me and grins, "He always has." I nod my head not surprised. She takes my hand in her hand and leads me down the sidewalk to the nearest motel. Reaching the lobby, I hold the door open for her and we walk inside of the lobby. Going over to the desk, I tell the clerk, "We would like a room." The clerk nods her head and hands me the paper work, which I quicky fill out and place my credit card on the counter. She swipes my card and shows me where to sign before handing me the key. Putting my card back in my wallet, I pick the key up and lead Maria out of the lobby and to the room.
Opening the door, I turn on the lights and step into the room followed by Maria. Closing the door, I walk over by the bed and set the key down. Not wanting to rush her into doing something she wasn't ready for I pick the sheet up for room service and ask, "Ya wanna gets somethin' ta eat n we can talk n then go from their?"

When we reach our destination Rath rushes to the door and holds it open so that I can enter. Wow, I never would have pegged him as thoughtful. I guess we both really do have a lot to learn about one another. He takes command which by the way is a major turn on and strolls over to the desk with a confident smirk. I watch as fills out the appropriate paper work and gets us a room. I am painfully reminded of a similar situation that happened a year ago in which I stood uncomfortably in a lobby while a devastatingly handsome guy rented a by the hour room.
Once business it taken care of he retrieves the key and leads me to the room. We enter and I stand a tad anxious in the middle of the room. A least it’s not themed, If it would have had a genie’s lamp or been flamboyantly purple we would have had an issue. He sets the key down and seems to pick up on my apprehension. Lifting up the menu he questions, "Ya wanna gets somethin' ta eat n we can talk n then go from their?" I nod and then go to sit on the bed.
Taking the menu from his hands I stare at it with great interest before replying, “I want a salad with all the fixing’s and a chocolate milk shake.” He raises an eyebrow at my odd combination causing me to smile. “ I have quirks. I promise with me you’ll never be bored.” I assure him feeling more at ease now that the silence is broken. “You know what’s sad is this is not the first time I’ve been in motel like this.” Realizing how bad that must have sounded I rush in to make it better ,but only seem to make it worse, “This is the third time ,but only the first where I wasn’t dragged in.”

I slip my leather jacket off and place it in the chair as she says, “I want a salad with all the fixing’s and a chocolate milk shake.” She smiles sweetly at me when I raise my right eyebrow. I don't think I could ever get tired of seeing her smile. “ I have quirks. I promise with me you’ll never be bored.” she says in response to my raised eyebrow.
I let my eyes run over her slowly starting at the top of her head and ending at her feet. Looking back into her green eyes, I say, "Iz got my own quirks. N Iz don't think ya could ever bore me." Sitting down next to her I take the menu and glace at it while she says, "You know what’s sad is this is not the first time I’ve been in motel like this.” I find myself feeling jealous an emotion up until that very moment was foreign to me. She must have realized how bad that sounded when she starte to ramble, "This is the third time ,but only the first where I wasn’t dragged in."

Dialing room service, I say, "Iz would like a salad with all the fixing’s, a chocolate milk shake, cheeseburger, fries, n a large coffee for room six." Hanging the phone up, I turn my attention back to her and say, "About fifteen minutes." I smirk before saying, "So how did ya ends up getting dragged inta da motel?"

I was a tad nervous that Rath wouldn’t be cool swapping stories about out past ,but he seems genuinely enthralled by the revelation so I smile feeling better about everything instantly. “Ya cute when ya babble" I blush to a slight shade of pink at is words of praise and the heat from his alluring gaze sends heat all the way down to my toes. I am stunned into a comfortable silence, I watch captivated by the fascinating man as he picks up the phone and gives our order to the front desk.
I grin thinking that I’ve never come across am man like him before. From one moment to the next he can having me spouting ever word I know and the next I’m entirely speechless. He must be magic somehow. After he’s done he turns to me with a pleased expression and states, "About fifteen minutes." I nod in understanding. He grin widens and I look on curious as to what’s so humorous? "So how did ya ends up getting dragged inta da motel?”
Thinking back to my last trips to motel rooms I decide to go with the first story. It is the funniest. Although at that particular point in time I was convinced it was far from it. “Well, it all started when Space boy…” At the look of confusion I decide to clarify. “Your misguided dupe got the bright idea to steal my car… well my mother’s car to be exact.” He seems shock my this. His shock features cause me to giggle. “His only problem was I happened to be in the vehicle at the time and would not be bullied, So.. He kidnapped me.”
I roll my eyes remembering how I’d lied to the cop about having to pee so he wouldn’t get into any trouble. I didn’t even know the guy ,but something told me I could trust him. Just like my instincts say Rath would never do anything to hurt me. “He was on some kind of quest to figure out where he came from ,and the info he needed was in Marathon Texas. Let’s just say neither I nor him were pleased with the arrangement and we fought the entire which led him to accidentally blow up my car’s engine.”
I snicker as the memory of the look on his face resurfaces. “So then he informs me that he is getting a hotel room and I can either follow him or stay in the abandoned car, I chose the former. Once we got inside I realize I was indeed in the 7th circle of Hell ,because it was decorated to be some kind of sex palace. I kid you not it looked like the porno version of Aladdin.” I reveal with a smirk. “We talked for a while and I got to know the real him. Not just the poorly bathed boy from the wrong side of the tracks. He became Michael.
After a while we both got tired and I insisted that he sleep on the floor… which would only come back to haunt us later ,because when Liz, Isabel, and Max broke in I was so startled that I rolled off the bed and right into his lap. Our friends got the wrong impression and of course I was standing there trying to explain that nothing was going on and it was just a huge misunderstanding while he was too busy finding the situation to be amusing. He even had the never to say ‘Come on honey we don’t have to lie.’ I was so ticked I kicked him twice!” I laugh whole heartedly at the memory.

"I don't want to be a rebound thing." she tells me, and I am stunned as to what to say for a minute. Then I just decide to tell her the truth.
"The truth is that I love Liz, and the whole time that Tess has been in town, she has constantly tried to get together with me, but I was never attracted to her that way. I can honestly say that you are the only other person besides Liz that I have ever been interesed in." I pause for a minute to let her take in everything that I have said so far. "I will probably always love Liz because she was my first love, but that doesn't mean that the attraction that I feel to you is any less important. I have accepted that my time with Liz is over, and it is time for me to move on. I finally realized that I deserve to be happy, and that Liz deserves to be happy as well. I can't promise you my whole heart because Liz will always have a piece of it, but that doesn't mean that there won't be enough love inside for you too. I'm not saying that I am in love with you right now, but I would like the oportunity to see if there is something between us that might grow into love one day. Do you think that you can handle that?"
I am trying to read the expression on her face, but I am not sure what she is thinking right now. I hope that she will at least let us see if a relationship between us could even go anywhere.
