Prolog 2017


She ran into the hidden cave with two other women on her heels. They could hear someone trying to get into the hidden chamber. They had to do this. They had to try it. If they didn’t then the world would end she looked back at her two friends. The only two of her friends that were still alive. Not that they looked all that great. They were fighting a war that they were losing badly.

“If we are going to do this it has to be now Liz.”
“Serena why me?” asked Liz breathing hard.
“Liz if Maria or I could go we would. But you are the one that Max will listen too. You got to get him to make your younger self tell him the truth about what happened with Future Max. Alex died because of Tess. You have to do this. You have to try. Or everyone that you love will be dead.”
“Serena I’m scared.”
“Elizabeth Anne Parker Evans! You have a chance to save the world. To save Kyle, Valenti, My mom, your parents. Max, Michael, Isabel, Jesse and Alex. But there is a chance that if this works than Isabel will never marry Jesse. He will never become part of this.” said Maria with tears in her eyes.
“Ok give me the stupid crystal Serena.”
“Remember Liz I am around when you get there. You know where to find me. Talk to Max first. Then find me and the three of us can come up with a way to stop Tess before she kills Alex.” said Serena

Liz took the crystal and placed it in the granalith. Then placed her hand on it and was sucked in a moment later there was a bright light and she was gone. Serena turned to Maria both knowing what they had to do.

“Ready to go down fighting?” asked Serena
“Like I will let this ass hole take me any other way.”
“Good because I think we have about ten seconds before they find us.”

Just then a man with dirty blond hair and ice cold blue eyes blasted into the chamber with a boy who looked no more than thirteen at his side.

“Where is she?” asked the man.
“Go to hell Kivar.” said Serena
“Serena tell me where that stupid human when and I may spare your life.” said Kivar
“I’ll tell you where Liz is the day pigs grow wings and start to fly. Wait that is never going to happen seeing that you have almost destroyed all of Earth.”
“I never did like that about you. You can tell me without any sarcasm or I’ll have Nicholas find out from blondie.”
“Kivar you will never find Liz. Maria doesn’t know where I sent Liz. I’m the only one that knows and Nicky can’t do a mind rape on me. You know that.” said Serena
“You want me to believe that a girl that was standing not five feet from you when you activated the granalith doesn’t know where you sent her friend?”
“Well I think when is a better word for what I did. Liz is in Roswell. Just not this Roswell.”
“Damn it bitch! Tell me what year you sent her back to.”
“Over my dead body.” said Serena looking right in Kivar’s cold eyes.

That was when Maria when after Nicholas. But he was faster and sent a blast at her killing her.

“The last of your little friends is dead Serena. It’s over. Tell me what I want to know.” said Kivar
“I will never betray my King.”
“Serena I’m your King. Zan is dead.”
“You will never be my King.”
“Serena, my dear then it’s time to die. I have the granalith now. I have experts that can help to find that girl and stop her.”
“But it will take you forever to finger out how to use it for time travel. It took Max, Liz and me over three years to crack the code to do it.”
“Say good bye Serena. It was nice knowing you.”

Kivar grabbed Serena and sent a powerful blast through her body. Her last thought of was hoping that Liz would be able to save all of them. In the matter of seconds there was nothing left of Serena’s body but a pile of dust.

Part 1 2000

Max Evans was in his room doing his homework when he heard a crash of thunder and saw a flash of lighting.

“Max.”

He turned and saw someone who looked like Liz Parker standing by his window.

“Who are you?”
“Max there isn’t a lot of time to explain. But I am Liz and I’m from the future.”
“Time travel isn’t possible.”
“Max Evans if alien human hybrids are real why not time travel? God is this isn’t possible than explain to me how I know that you saw something that your eyes tell you was for real but your heart tells you it’s a lie. That I would never sleep with Kyle Valenti. I can’t tell you too much but I will tell you believe your heart. Your heart won’t lie to you.”
“If you are telling me the truth than why are you here?”
“Well in about seventeen years the world ends. How is that for you?”
“Uh the Liz I know doesn’t use all the sarcasm.”
“Well people change in seventeen years.”
“So uh what is it that you want me to do?”
“Well here’s the deal. Tess is evil.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well in my timeline she kills Alex and takes off for the home world with your kid. Then comes back crashes in the desert. By the way what is up with that? Your people couldn’t learn to land on Earth without crashing in like fifty plus years? Sorry back to what I need to tell you. When she crashed she brought the Special Unit back with her. You, me, Isabel and Michael nearly had our brains blown out at our high school graduation because of it. Then all of us a long with Kyle and Maria hit the road in a van trying to stay one step a head of the Special Unit.”
“How did we escape?”
“Oh yeah forgot to tell you. I got powers. Not only did you heal me when I got shot you made me a crystal ball as Michael liked to call me.”
“What do you mean liked?”
“Like I said the world was ending when I left. Maria, Serena and I were the only ones left.”
“Whose Serena?”
“Right we haven’t met her yet. A friend. Trust me a very good friend.” And my sister it turns out but that is need to know right now.
“Ok what do you need me to do?”
“Well you got to get off your ass and start to grill me on Future Max.”
“Who is that?”
“Go to my younger self and tell her you know that she got a visit from the future and get her to spill. Trust me I was ready to crack when you got back from New York all you had to do was keep asking me. But you promised you wouldn’t so you didn’t. You did find out that I never slept with Kyle but not why I wanted you to believe that for more than a year.”
“You going to come with me?”
“Can’t. If I come in contact with myself in another time line we risk me not existing any more. Well that is what both Future Max and Serena tell me anyway. I don’t know about you but I don’t care to find that one out.”
“Good point. So what are you going to do?”
“Get Serena. She is in town right now and I know where to find her.”
“Wish me luck. I’m going to need it.”
“No you won’t tell me that Future her is here and that should get me to spill.”
“You change a lot.”
“Yeah well losing everyone you love kinda does that to you.”
“Good luck with Serena.”

Max grabbed his jacket and headed for the Crashdown. Future Liz then headed for the Tumbleweed Inn. Serena had told her that she had just arrived in town the day before so that is where she would be.

You better believe me Rena. I can’t do this alone.

Part 2

Future Liz knocked on room 217 of the Tumbleweed Inn. After a minute the door opened and a girl with shoulder length strawberry blond hair opened the door.

“Who are you?”
“I’m Liz and I’m from the future Serena.” said Future Liz pushing her way into the room.
“What?”
“Serena not a lot of time to explain. In short in seventeen years the world ends and everyone dies.”
“Everyone?”
“I mean you, Maria and me were the only ones a live when I left. But some how I think that you and Maria didn’t last long after I left.”
“Why do you say that?”
“Just a feeling.”
“So why are you here?”
“I need your help.”
“Uh if you want me to get you back to your time than I can’t help you.”
“No that is the last thing I need. Serena what I need you to do is help stop Tess. She is going to kill Alex in a couple of months give or take a week or two. Then get pregnant with Max’s kid and go back to Kivar.”
“That would be bad.”
“No kidding. I lived it.”
“Were do I fit in?”
“How about getting your ass out of the shadows and help younger me to develop my powers? You know that I have them.”
“Yeah. But it’s not only because Max healed you.”
“I kinda knew that. But seventeen year old me doesn’t.”
“What do I say?”
“How about hey Liz I’m Serena. I’m here to help you?”
“Like that would work.”
“Gee and Max wonders where I got the sarcasm from.”
“Wait a minute you saw Max?”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Because someone has to talk to younger me while I talk to you.”
“Ok.”
“By the way young me and me can’t ever be together.”
“That is only a theory.”
“Well it’s not a risk I’m willing to take.”
“So you are from seventeen years in the future?”
“Yeah.”
“So do you know who I am?”
“You mean that you’re my sister? Yeah. Well younger me didn’t find out for five more years.”
“How did you take it?”
“Not well at first. Come on I felt like my whole life was a lie.”
“So you think younger you will take it any better?”
“Don’t know. Depends on how well it goes with Max and Liz talking about Future Max.”
“Wait a second. Who the hell is Future Max?”
“The man that made my life a living hell. Look Serena this isn’t a good time for this. I need you to do what I asked. You can play that get to know you game with my younger self later.”
“Ok so I got to keep Tess away from Alex.”
“To late. You got to get to Las Cruces and try and repair the damage being done by the mind warp.”
“How do I do that?”
“Hey you’re the half alien genius not me! I know I’m smart but not as smart as you.”
“How long does Alex have?”
“Well we haven’t dealt with the blue crystals yet so he is due back in town in two weeks. So a month or two tops.”
“Blue crystals? You mean the gandarium?”
“Yeah.”
“Great have to deal with that too.”
“Not important right this minute.”
“You know what will happen if it infects the human population.”
“Yes. But as long as we keep Laurie Dupree out of Roswell it should be fine for a while anyway.”
“Who is Laurie Dupree?”
“One of the few people on Earth that if infected will cause the virus to become active.”
“Ok.”
“You deal with Alex and make sure that his brain isn’t too badly damaged by Tess’s mind warp.”
“Fine but I don’t like this.”
“Well too bad. I am trying to save two planets right now.”
“So how do you think I should handle the Alex thing?”
“How in the hell should I know? Look Serena it wasn’t until after Alex died that I found out that he wasn’t really in Sweden. I’m going to crash here tonight.”
“Whatever.”

Part 3

Max stood at the bottom of the ladder leading up to Liz’s balcony. He took a deep breath before climbing up. When he reached the top he saw Liz in her bedroom working on her homework. He knocked on the window and she opened it.

“Liz we need to talk.”
“What’s wrong Max?”
“Can I come in?”
“Yeah.”

Max climbed into the window and started to pace.

“Max what is wrong.”
“Liz I know about Future Max.”
“I’m going to kill Maria.”
“Maria didn’t tell me.”
“Then how do you know about that?”
“You told me. Well Future you told me a little while ago.”
“What?”
“She told me that the world is going to end in seventeen years.”
“Oh god.”
“Liz tell me about what Future Max told you.”
“Ok you might want to sit down. By the way you are going to tell me everything that Future me told you.”
“Deal.”
Max sat down on the bed and Liz started to tell him about his future self.

“Well he told me that he came from fourteen years in the future. That the world was ending because you and I were together and Tess couldn’t deal with that so she left. That is why I was trying to set you up with her and told you that I didn’t want to die for you, and pretended to sleep with Kyle.”
“Well future you said that if we don’t change things that Alex is going to die and Tess is going to betray us and get pregnant with my son and go back to Kivar.”
“This is great. No matter what the world is going to end.”
“Liz we will fix this. I don’t know how but we will fix it.”
“Wonderful. Did Future me say anything else?”
“Yes. That someone named Serena is around.”
“Serena?”
“Mean something to you?”
“Yeah. Uh well Future you said that she would become a friend of mine one day.”
“He say anything else?”
“Only that we eloped to Vegas when we were nineteen. Got married in the Elvis Chapel.”
“That is too young.”
“No kidding.”
“Max I’m sorry for lying to you.”
“I understand why you did it.”
“So you forgive me?”
“Only if you agree to get back together with me.”
“What about Tess?”
“We have to find out what her plan is and stop her before she goes through with it.”
“But if what future me said is true then Tess is already working on her plan.”
“I know. So what do you plan to do?”
“Liz you and I will have to make sure Tess doesn’t know that we are back together just yet. I think future Liz has her own plans for Tess to be honest with you. She knows if she tells me that I will try and stop her.”
“Let her do whatever she wants to Tess I don’t care.”
“But you said that because she left we weren’t strong enough to stop Kivar.”
“True but I don’t think in that timeline we knew about the dupes. Max Ava can take Tess’s place in the four square. I know she is different than Tess. We can trust her.”
“How do we find her?”
“I don’t know. But I think that we should deal with that bitch Tess first. Then we can find Ava.”
“Ok. Liz I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Night Max. I love you.”
“Love you too.”

Max leaned down and gave Liz a passionate kiss. Before leaving and heading home.

Part 4

Serena woke the next morning to find Future Liz asleep on the floor of the motel room. She got up and climbed over her and when into the bathroom when she came out she found Future Liz awake.

“Morning.”
“Serena take younger me when you go for Alex. That way there is less of a chance she and I will run into each other while I’m here.”
“What are you going to do?’
“Something I should have done a long time ago.”
“This is crazy! You are talking about killing someone in cold blood!”
“Yeah well war changes people. I am not that sweet innocent girl you have been watching Serena. I changed a lot in the last seventeen years. I changed into a person that I don’t like.”
“What about the four square?”
“Talk to my younger self she all ready thought of that if I know her. Ava is the key. Find her and everything will be fine.”
“Ava where the hell is she?”
“All I can tell you is that she isn’t in New York. I don’t know where she is right now. We had one run in with her while on the road. That was two years after we left in Kansa of all places. She may or may not be there now. It was some small town. I can’t remember the name.”
“I can find her if I have a starting point.”
“Good I should hook up with Max and see if he and Liz talked yet.”
“Good luck.”
“Hey you’re going to need more luck then me.”
“Right. I have to deal with younger you.”
“Hey I was nice when I was a teenager.”
“To have a dark side that you do now. You had to have had one as a teenager. That is the only way that you could even think about murder.”
“Everyone has a dark side Serena. I just spent the past two years trying to save Earth. I lost everyone I love. Everyone I care about. I have nothing left. I came back here to try and save the world. Maybe if I hadn’t kept things from Max as long as I did things would have turned out different. Serena if I don’t see you again thanks for helping me.”

Serena watched as Future Liz left. Then grabbed her bag and headed for the Crashdown. When she got there she saw a teenage Liz Parker sitting at table writing. Serena walked in and sat down across from her.

“Who are you?”
“Hi Liz. I’m Serena.”
“Serena?”
“Yep. I was sent here to get you and take you to Las Cruces so we can save Alex. Tess is mind warping him to translate the destiny book.”
“What am I going to tell my parents?”
“Make something up. Liz you lie to them all the time. All I know is that if we don’t save Alex the world is going to end.”
“Ok give me some time to pack a bag. I’ll tell them that there is a weekend workshop in Las Cruces. That should work.”
“Ok I want to leave as soon as possible.”
“Ok. Serena we will save Alex.”

Liz when up to her room and started to pack a bag. Her mom walked in while she was packing.

“Liz are you going some where?”
“Mom. Uh well I forgot to tell you that there is this biology workshop in Las Cruces that I was going to go to with a girl from school.”
“How long is it?”
“I will be back by Sunday afternoon.”
“I wish that you had said something sooner.”
“I’m sorry. I can still go right?”
“Yes. Have fun.”
“Thanks mom. Love you.”
“Love you too.”

Liz finished packing and when back down to meet Serena.

“Ready?”
“Yeah.”
“Let’s go.”

Liz followed Serena out to a black Ford Mustang. They tossed Liz’s bag into the trunk and then climbed into the car and started on the drive to Las Cruces. Serena looked over at Liz an hour into the drive.

“You ok?”
“Sure why not?”
“Liz don’t worry about Alex. I know how to brake the mind warp.”
“Why is Tess doing this?”
“I don’t know. Liz this isn’t going to be easy. But between you and me we should be able to help him.”
“Serena what do you know about mind warps?”
“I know that repeated mind warps can kill someone.”
“So Alex could die?”
“Liz I don’t want you to worry we will save Alex even if it kills me.”
“Serena I’m going to try and get some sleep. Wake me when we get there.”
“Sure Liz.”

Liz closed her eyes and tried to get some sleep. A couple of hours later Serena turned onto the campus of the University of New Mexico.

“Liz wake up.”
“Were here?”
“Yep where do we start?”
“Uh well he would have to use some type of computer to translate the book.”
“So we find the building with the computers.”
“Yeah we just should ask someone where to find it.”
“Whatever Liz.”

Liz and Serena got out of the car and walked up to one of the students.

“Hey I was wondering if you can tell me how to get to the computer science building? I’m meeting a friend there.” said Liz
“Sure. Follow this path third building on the left.”
“Thanks.”
“You friends with Ray?”
“Ray? Yeah.”
“Man he sure knows how to pick his friends.” said the guy walking off.
“Liz how did you know he was asking about Alex?”
“Just a feeling. Besides it sounds like this Ray spends a lot of time with a computer.”

Liz and Serena walked to the computer science building and when to find Alex. They walked the halls until they came to a room with a super computer and there sat Alex typing on the keyboard. Liz looked at Serena and they when in together. They didn’t see anyone else in there with him so Liz watched the door while Serena when up to Alex.

“Alex?”
“Uh my name is Ray.”
“Yeah right and I am the Queen of England. Alex, you know that there is something wrong with you. I can help you if you let me. Please let me help you.”
“You’re an alien aren’t you?”
“Well I like the term not of this earth but yes.”
“I don’t trust aliens.”
“Do you trust Liz?”
“Yes.”
“Liz asked me to help you. So will you trust her judgement?”
“Yes.”
“How much do you have translated?”
“Almost all of it.”
“Wow. Ok here’s the deal the three of us are going to go back to your room and I will get Tess out of your head and then we will finish the translation and go back to Roswell.”
“Ok. Who are you?”
“My name is Serena.”
“Alexander Charles Whitman.”
“Let Liz and me know when you are ready to go.”

Ten minutes later Serena and Liz followed Alex back to his dorm room and locked the door.

“Lay down on the bed.” said Serena

Alex did as he was told and Serena placed her hands on his head. Liz saw a glow from them for a few minutes then they stopped. Alex sat up and gave Liz one of his goofy smiles.

“How’s it going Liz?”
“Better now that I know your ok.”
“So how do we stop Tess from mindwarping us?” asked Alex
“You wear these rings.” said Serena pulling out two rings with green stones in them.
“How do they work?” asked Liz
“Well the stone in the ring is very rare on Antar it blocks any power that can cause harm to the mind. I don’t know all the details but I know they work. You don’t have to where it on your hand put on a chain around your neck if you want. I don’t care. But they are the only thing that will keep Tess from giving you an IQ of a squirrel.”
“If she doesn’t turn you into bug food first.” said Liz
“Liz don’t you want to know what I found out in that book so far?” asked Alex
“What did you find out?” asked Liz
“That the destiny that we know and hate is a bunch of bullshit.” said Alex
“What do you mean?” asked Liz
“Liz I think it will be easier if you just read it for yourself. It should be ready before we have to head back to Roswell on Sunday.” said Alex
“So what do we do until then?” asked Serena
“I’ll finish working with the computer you two can do whatever you want.” said Alex
“Alex are you sure that you are ok” asked Liz
“I’m fine. But you on the other hand need to work things out with Max. Because if the part that I was having trouble with is saying what I think it is, than you and Max are meant to be together.”

Liz looked at Alex not sure what to say about that. She still wasn’t sure what her future self was there for besides saving Alex. Seeing as he was safe now she didn’t know if she would disappear or not. Or maybe there was something else that would have to be changed. All Liz knew was that she wasn’t going to give Max up to Tess without a fight.

Part 5

Max watched Future Liz out of the corner of his eye as they drove to the Valenti’s house.

“Max I’m not going to kill her. I’m not a killer.”
“You changed.”
“Yes but I’m not Tess. I wouldn’t kill her just because of what she did in my time. Besides Alex isn’t going to die. Serena and your Liz are saving him right now. In fact I think that we shouldn’t even let Tess know that I’m gone. So I think that I will make myself look like I did at seventeen.”
“You can do that?”
“I can do a lot of things. You gave me powers when you healed me. In fact I think that it would be a good idea for you to help young me to get control of them. In my time they came out and I set a book on fire in public when you were helping me get ready for my interview for Harvard. By the way I didn’t get in. Disappointed my dad big there. Look don’t blame yourself. You’re not at fault. But you should know that during the time of my powers coming out I kinda ran away to boarding school. To get away from you. But that only lasted a couple of weeks. Don’t ask why.”
“What are you going to do to Tess?”
“I don’t know. Max don’t worry I am going to act like the Liz from this time. But I want you to act like we are back together.”
“Well Liz and I are back together.”
“I know that. But right now I am your Liz. So you better learn to deal with it.”
“So did we ever get back together in your time?”
“Max I shouldn’t tell you too much.”
“I know.”
“We got married while on the run from the Special Unit. Isabel, Maria, Michael and Kyle were there.”
“We are almost there. What are you going to say to Tess?”
“If I can help it nothing. I hate her. But seeing as she hasn’t killed Alex yet I know that I can’t blame her for that.”
“Liz are you ok?”
“Sure why not? I am just about to face the girl that killed my best friend. Max Alex is like the brother I never had. I was crushed when he died. I realized that it was partly my fault but I didn’t want to blame myself for listening to Future Max. No matter how much I was hurting at the time. I had to stop you, Isabel and Michael from leaving with Tess. I knew she killed Alex and I knew that there was a chance that if you left with her that you could die too. I couldn’t live knowing that you had died too. I would rather live in a world where you hated me than in a world without you. We made up but there was always a rift between us.”
“Ok uh time to put on your make up cause in about two minutes we will be at the Valenti’s.”
“Hope I can pull this off.”

Future Liz waved her hand and in less than a second the years had melted off her face and she looked just like she had in high school. She also made sure she was dressed like she had in high school. The Liz Parker Kyle and Tess knew didn’t where leather and look like she had been fighting a war for most of her life. Taking a deep breath she followed Max up to the door. She forced herself to smile as Tess opened the door.

“Max, Liz what are you doing here?”
“Tess here is the thing. Liz and I back together.”
“Really?”
“Yes.” said Future Liz giving Max a kiss.
“You took her back after what she did?” asked Tess
“Turns out things aren’t always what they seem to be. Tess I hope that one day we all can be friends.” said Max
“I hope that you two are happy together. I just remembered I have something to do.”

Tess took off and Max looked at Future Liz.

“What do you think she is up to?” Max asked.
“I have no idea. But it can’t be good.”
“Ok who are you and why do you look like Liz? I know you aren’t Liz because I saw her leave with a girl I don’t know a little while ago.” said Kyle Valenti coming up to them.
“Kyle I am Liz. Just not the Liz you know. I am from the future.” said Future Liz
“How is time travel possible?”
“You were healed by an alien. I think you would be willing to believe almost anything at this point.” said Future Liz
“This is crazy.” said Kyle
“I agree with you. But you can’t tell anyone that Future Liz is here. She came back to stop Tess from betraying us by killing Alex.” said Max
“Why would she kill Alex?”
“Because she wanted that stupid destiny book translated and she killed him to stop him from telling Max what she did to him. Look Kyle I know this is a lot to take in. But if you tell anyone even your dad that I am here you could risk having the world end. And I kinda want to live.” said Future Liz
“Ok but I don’t like it.”
“Thanks Kyle. By the way I know you never slept with Liz. Thanks for helping her when she needed it.”
“Glad I was able to help. Now if you don’t mind I think I will go and mediate for a while.”

Kyle walked into the house and Max and Future Liz walked back to the car.

Part 6

Liz was lying on Alex’s bed in his dorm room tossing a ball she had found in the air. Serena watched her wondering if she should tell her what she knew. But thought better of it at the moment. She didn’t really want to deal with Liz if she didn’t take the news well.

“Serena why did you come to Roswell?” asked Liz
“I came because I want to help Max.”
“What are you a protector or something?”
“I’m not a protector. I am kind of a hybrid just like Max. Liz I want you to trust me. But I know that will take time.”
“True. But I know that we have always meant to meet. I was told by a Future version of Max that someone named Serena would be a friend of mine one day.”
“Well I hope we can be friends. I want to be your friend but I know you have issues with trusting aliens. But you will have to learn to trust some aliens at some point or Kivar will destroy Earth.”
“That’s just great.”
“Liz, Future you told me that I should help you with your powers.”
“I have powers?”
“Yes. Kinda a side effect of being healed by an alien.”
“Oh great so I’m now a freak.”
“You’re not a freak. You are just not normal either.”
“Normal is over rated it seems. The day I decided to follow my heart and act on my feelings for Max I left normal behind. My life hasn’t been normal since the day my life was saved by Max Evans.”
“Would you really want to go back to normal?”
“I guess not. Serena are you sure it was safe to let Alex go back to the computer alone?”
“We didn’t have a choice. If we are going to save the world then it would be a good idea to know what is in the destiny book.”
“Serena what is the future me like?”
“You changed a lot in seventeen years. You are bitter and are willing to do whatever you have too, to make sure that history is changed for the better hopefully.”
“What do you mean?”
“I believe that she is willing to kill Tess to reach her goals.”
“I would never kill in cold blood.”
“You are forgetting that this Liz has lost everyone she cares about and has nothing left to lose. She has fought in a war. So I think that murder wouldn’t bother her.”

Liz was quite she didn’t know what to say about that. To think that she could change that much. To be willing to kill someone for something that hasn’t even happened yet. But then again when you become desperate you are willing to do anything.

Alex picked up the last page of the print out. He placed it a with the rest in the folder and then deleted the file from the hard drive and grabbed the CD from the drive and headed back to his room. He couldn’t believe it he had done it. He had translated the whole book. It had instructions on how to work the Granilith as well as everything about who Max, Michael, Isabel and Tess were when they lived on Antar. Antar being their home planet.

“Hey Ray is that the project you have been working on?”
“Yeah Josh it is. I will be heading home soon.”
“Going to miss you man. But if I had a girl who looked anything like those two babes that came here looking for you I wouldn’t want to stay any longer than I had too.”
“I know. But they are just friends.”
“Yeah sure and I am the Queen of England.”
“Whatever you want to believe man.”

Alex walked back to his room and found Liz sleeping on his bed and Serena playing cards.

“You two do anything fun?” asked Alex
“Just talked.” said Serena
“Serena is something wrong?”
“Nothing you need to worry about.”
“Look I almost had my brain turned to mush. I think it would be safe to say there is nothing that will shock me any more.”
“Alex I can’t tell you right now.”
“Why is it about Liz?”
“No not really. I’m just not ready to talk about it.”
“Ok I know better than to push.”
“Alex don’t worry about me. I can take care of myself.”
“I know. But Liz really should see what this thing has in it. She is in for a shock.”
“What do you mean?”
“Serena basically if Max wanted to save Antar it states that he and the others would have to learn to trust humans to aid them.”
“That isn’t as surprising as you might think.”
“What do you mean?”
“Antarians have been studying humans for a long time.”
“So you think that Earth was chosen because of the studies?”
“Yes. Look I don’t know much more. But I think that we should get some rest. It will be a long drive back to Roswell in the morning.”
“Night Serena.”

Alex when to sleep and Serena when to stare out the window. She knew that she couldn’t keep her secret from Liz forever. But she wasn’t ready to tell her yet.

Part 7

Tess picked up the phone and dialed a number. After a minute someone picked up the other end.

“What do you have to tell me?”
“Max is back with that stupid human bitch.”
“Damn it! I told you to keep that girl away from the boy.”
“I have been doing my best. But the fact is no matter what Max won’t give up on that bitch.”
“You know that if I don’t get what I want you are as good as dead.”
“I know. But I have done everything I can think of. I don’t know what else to do.”
“Think of something Ava or you won’t have to worry about going back to Antar. Because you will be dead.”
“I think I know what to do. Max will do whatever it takes to keep that bitch safe. So all I have to do is tell him to do what I want or I will kill his human bitch.”
“Now that sounds like a plan. Call me when you have the human.”

Tess hung up the phone and when to her room to come up with a plan to get Liz.

Kyle stayed just out of sight until Tess was gone. Then he when out the front door jumped in his Mustang and headed for Max’s house. He had to tell him what he had heard. He couldn’t let Tess kill Liz. Some how he knew that if Liz died there was no hope for the home world of the alien king. When he reached the Evans he jumped out of the car and pounded on the door. Max opened the door after a minute and Kyle pushed inside.

“Kyle what is going on?” asked Max
“We have to do something.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Tess was talking to someone on the phone and threaten to kill Liz.”
“Are you sure?”
“Well yeah. She didn’t say Liz’s name but I knew that was who she was talking about.”
“What did she call Liz?”
“Your bitch. Human bitch. Stuff like that.”
“Thanks Kyle.”
“What are you going to do Max?”
“I think it would be better if you don’t know.”
“You going to kill her?”
“I don’t know. I don’t want to but will if I have too.”
“Max maybe my dad can help.”
“Kyle I don’t want to ask him to do something that could put him in danger. Tess is dangerous. Kyle I want you to stay as far from her as you can. I know that it is going to be hard with her living in the same house as you. But try. Maybe you should spend the night here or at Michael’s until we know what to do about her. At lest the real Liz is safe. She is out of town.”
“What will happen if she tries to go after Future Liz?”
“I can take care of myself. I am not as helpless as I look.” said Future Liz
“What do you mean?” asked Kyle

Future Liz just smiled and waved her hand over Max’s shirt causing it to change color.

“How can you do that?” asked Kyle
“Max healed me. Now I have powers.”
“Oh Buddha!”
“By the way the Kyle in my time you had powers too. When Serena gets back it would be a good idea for Kyle to train with her too.”
“Who is Serena?”
“Serena is the person Liz left town with to go and save Alex’s life.” said Max
“So she’s an alien?”
“Yep. Can be a pain in the ass too.” said Future Liz
“Great. I need to sit down.”

Kyle walked over to the sofa and sat down and started to mumble. Max looked at Future Liz who just shrugged.

“So uh what kind of powers did I get?” asked Kyle
“You will be able to do a blast like Michael. Uh talk to people in their heads. Actually we will all be able to do that. I don’t remember if that happened before or after Serena joined us or not. To be honest I don’t remember.” said Future Liz
“What do you mean you don’t remember?” asked Kyle
“I just don’t.”
“What aren’t you telling me?”
“Look when I left my time Serena, Maria and I were the only ones alive and Kivar was on our tails. I had about ten seconds to leave before Kivar would get to us. So when I change things enough I have no one to go back too. I have nothing left.”
“How long have I been dead?”
“Kyle I don’t think you want to know.”
“Did I at lest out live anyone other than Alex?”
“All of our parents. Kivar blew up the Crashdown with all of them in it.”
“All of this happened because Tess betrayed us?” asked Max
“Yes. Max I think we will have to kill her to set things right.” said Future Liz
“You are talking about murder!” said Kyle
“Kyle I am not the same person I was. So deal with it.”
“Uh Liz you are disappearing.” said Max
“I guess saving Alex and learning that Tess is a traitor did it. I changed it enough. Good luck with stopping Tess.”

After a minute Future Liz was gone. Kyle looked at Max like he was going crazy.

“We need a plan to deal with Tess.” said Max
“Why do we need a plan to deal with Tess?” asked Isabel coming into the room.
“She is planning on killing Liz.” said Kyle
“Why would she do that?” asked Isabel
“It’s a long story.” said Max
“I’ve got the time.” said Isabel
“You will want to sit down for this.” said Kyle

Isabel sat down and Max told her everything. An hour later Isabel felt like the wind had been knocked out of her. But she also had a plan.

“Max I know what we will do about Tess.” said Isabel
“What?” asked Max
“Tell her she has the choice to leave town and never come back or she dies. I’m sure that Michael will be more than willing to help kill her if he knew that she will most likely get Maria killed. I know they have this weird thing in their relationship but he does love her.”
“I know.” said Max

They started to talk more about the details of the plan for the next hour. They had a good idea of what to do. All they had to do was run it by the others for more input but that would wait until after Liz and Serena got back with Alex.

Part 8

Liz sat in the backseat of Serena’s Mustang staring out the window as they drove through the desert. She had a strange feeling that Serena was hiding something from her. But she didn’t know what.

“So where are we heading once we get to town?” asked Alex breaking the silence that they had been in since leaving Las Cruces.
“I think it would be a good idea to meet with everyone.” said Serena
“I’ll call Max.” said Liz

Liz pulled out her cell phone and dialed Max’s number. After a minute he answered the phone.

“Hey.” said Max
“Hey.”
“How’s Alex?”
“He’s alive and well.”
“Good. Just so you know Future you is gone.”
“Ok. Uh Serena wants all of us to get together when we get back to town.”
“How long until you will be back?”
“A couple of hours.”
“Head to Michael’s. We will meet there as soon as everyone can.”
“Ok.”
“Liz, Kyle over heard Tess talking to someone about doing something to you. I want you to be careful.”
“I will be. Max don’t worry about me. I know what to do.”
“I love you.”
“Love you too.”

Liz hung up the phone and put it away.

“We are going to Michael’s. The others will meet us there.” said Liz
“Liz is something wrong?” asked Alex
“Alex I just want to be left alone right now. I just have a lot on my mind.”
“Ok.”

Liz knew that she shouldn’t have been mean to Alex. But she didn’t know what else to do. She didn’t want Alex to know that she was really scared for him. She knew that Tess had to be stopped. But it wasn’t going to be easy. At lest she didn’t have to worry about running into her future self-any more. But Tess was dangerous she was willing to do whatever she has to, to turn Max, Isabel and Michael over to Kivar. Liz knew that she had to be careful of Tess. Two hours later Serena parked her car outside of Michael’s apartment. Alex got out of the car and moved the seat so Liz could climb out. Then they headed for Michael’s apartment. When they reached the door of the apartment Liz knocked on the door. Michael opened it and they walked in to find everyone waiting for them.

“ALEX!” yelled Isabel wrapping her arms around him.
“Hey Liz. How are you doing?” asked Max
“Ok by the way this is Serena.” said Liz
“Nice to meet you. So can I ask why you are here?” asked Max
“I’m here to help protected the rightful Queen. Which in case you hadn’t heard isn’t Tess.” said Serena
“Then who the hell is it?” asked Michael
“Michael leave her alone.” said Maria
“It’s ok Maria. I will tell you. But I think everyone should sit down.” said Serena
“Serena why didn’t you say anything about this before?” asked Liz
“Liz I will tell you everything I know. But it’s a long story. So if you want to order a pizza and get something to drink it would be a good idea. Once I start I don’t want to stop longer than I have too.” said Serena

Maria picked up Michael’s phone and ordered two large pizzas while Michael pulled out a Snapple for everyone. Once everyone was seated Serena pushed her long strawberry blond hair back from her face and started to pace before speaking again.

“I guess I should start with saying that I was sent here because Zan and Vilandra’s mother feared that there was a traitor on Earth. She had no idea how right she was. But she never would have thought that one of the protectors she sent would betray her. Or thought that the woman that had once been her son’s wife would be in on it. I was told to watch from the shadows. Not to let anyone know I was here unless in became life and death.” said Serena
“So who is this Queen you were sent to protect?” asked Michael
“Michael I will get there but I think you need a little background on the Royal Four first. Zan was only sixteen when he took the throne after his father’s death. He never wanted to be King. Or to marry Ava. But the fact was he had no choice on either one. So he became King and married Ava. But there was always something about him like he was looking for his true love. One other thing you should know is that Kivar wasn’t always Zan’s enemy. He was once a good friend of Zan’s I guess that is why it hurt so much when Kivar killed the Royal Four. Vilandra on the other hand was a typical princess. She loved her parents and did everything they asked. But she had had a crush on Kivar growing up. So she was an easy target for him to use to get into the palace and kill the Royal Four. She never meant to betray her brother. By the time she realized that Kivar was using her it was too late. Her brother was dead and Kivar was getting ready to kill her.”
“So what about Rath and Ava?” asked Isabel
“Rath was the son of the General of Antarian Army he was raised to be a soldier. But he didn’t want to be a soldier. But knew better than to fight destiny. He didn’t love Vilandra well not the way a man loves his wife anyway. He had grown up with her so he loved her like a sister. Neither wanted to marry it was clear. But were ready to for their family’s sake. Ava now she is another story. She wanted Zan from the first time she saw him. He on the other hand could have cared less about her. It is true that he was attracted to her. But that was before he got to know her. She was not the type of woman he saw for himself. She was what you would call a trophy wife. She did things only to try and please Zan. But he was always looking for someone else to make him happy.”
“Serena did anyone ever find out who Zan was looking for?” asked Liz
“No. But some believed that it had to do with a tale that was told long ago. About a girl from a far away world that would show a King the true meaning of love and being a man. I don’t know much else other than the King would be willing to risk his life for this girl, saving her life from death. I know that Max saved your life Liz. So if the old tale is true than it was destiny that you and Max met.” said Serena
“Are you going to tell us who this Queen you are here to protected or not?” asked Michael
“She is someone that you all know. In fact she is in this room. I know it for sure due to something that happened a couple of days ago. Only members of Antarian royalty can use the power of the Granilth. Aversion of Liz came back from seventeen years in the future by using the Granilth. She came back to save Alex’s life as well as to make sure that Tess didn’t succeed in her plan to turn you all over to Kivar and return to him with the heir to the throne of Antar.” said Serena
“Are you saying that Liz is the Queen you are here to protect?” asked Maria
“Yes.”

Liz didn’t know what to say. She wasn’t sure how she felt about that. Had future Max known this when he had come back? He couldn’t have or he wouldn’t have asked her to do the unthinkable. Liz didn’t know what she was going to do. She needed time to think about this. She got up and walked outside and sat down to think.

Part 9

Serena walked outside to find Liz an hour later. When she found her she took a deep breath before going over to her.

“Liz are you ok?”
“Why didn’t you tell me before now?”
“I don’t know.”
“Serena you want me to trust you. But the fact is for that to happen you can’t keep things like this from me.”
“I know. It’s just I am scared to tell you everything I know.”
“Why?”
“Because what I know will change your life forever. Things will never be the same for you. I thought if I only told you what you need to know when you need to know it, that your life would be easier. Maybe I am wrong. But I will need time to know what you need to know.”
“How about things I should know?”
“What do you mean?”
“I know you aren’t telling me everything. But the fact is I know that you are keeping something from me. I would like to know what it is. I don’t care if you don’t think that I am ready to hear it. If it’s something I should know then you have to tell me.”
“Liz I really wish you would let me tell you in time.”
“Serena look I am going on what future Max said about you right now, and what Max said future me told him. But I want to know why you think I should trust you.”

Serena bit her lip and knew that it was now or never.

“Liz you should trust me because I’m your sister.”
“There is no way that is true.”
“She is telling the truth Lizzie.” came a voice from behind them.

Both girls turned around and found Jeff Parker standing there.

“What are you talking about?” asked Liz
“Liz, Serena is your half sister.” said Jeff
“Why haven’t I heard of her before now?”
“Liz she lived with her mother growing up. Before you ask your mother knows about her. Serena’s mother and I came to an agreement that she wouldn’t come to see me. That I would only go visit her. Serena is very special, as are you.”
“Why didn’t you ever tell me that I have a sister?”
“I didn’t know if you would ever meet her. I didn’t want you to wonder about someone you might never have met.”
“All I know is that you lied to me my whole life dad. I can’t deal with this right now. If you go back in there Serena tell Max I will call him.”

Liz took off Jeff started to go after her but Serena stopped him.

“Let her go. She needs time to cool off.”
“Serena what is going on?”
“It’s time for Liz to except her destiny.”
“What do you mean?”
“Things are changing if Liz doesn’t except her destiny then the whole world could end.”
“Liz is so young.”
“They are all so young. But they don’t have a choice.”
“I don’t want Liz in danger.”
“Face it. She has been in more danger then she will admit too. You know that. You know that she was really shot. But she won’t admit it because she wants to protect Max. He is her destiny you know that.”
“Serena she could die.”
“I know. Look I will do whatever I can to keep Liz safe but danger is part of our lives.”
“Serena I just don’t want to lose either of you.”
“As long as you keep both of us in your heart you won’t. Let me talk to Liz. I think that she will take it better from me then you. Right now she is angry with you. You should have told her about me. She had to hear that there was someone named Serena that would be a friend of hers one day from a future version of Max. She would have taken this news better if you had.”
“I know. So how have you been?”
“Not bad. Other than having to drive across half the state to keep Tess from turning Alex’s brain into mush.”
“So that is where Liz when this weekend.”
“Yep. Oh and by the way Liz hates Tess.”
“She should. Ava helped to murder the Royal Four.”
“Yeah I know. But what happened to the real fourth? I mean Ava was never meant to be part of this.”
“Her pod was destroyed in the crash. Both copies of it. Some how I think the man who raised Tess is the one that made sure they wouldn’t make it and Ava’s pod would.”
“How do you explain dupe Ava being so different than Tess?”
“Well here’s the thing. There was only one created. But the cells split making twins. Only one got almost none of the dark side of Ava and Tess got almost none of the good in Ava. That is why there are two Ava’s. That is what happened with all of them. But Zan. Zan had less dark then the others. So dupe Zan wasn’t all bad. It’s too bad that Lonnie and Rath killed him. He could have been of use to us.”
“I should get back to the others. There is still a lot they need to know.”
“Ok. Take care of yourself Serena.”
“I will dad.”

Jeff headed home and Serena when back in to talk to the others.

Part 10

Liz was sitting on her roof a couple hours later when Serena climbed up the fire escape. Liz started to go in her window when Serena spoke.

“Liz please talk to me.”
“Why? You lied to me.”
“No I didn’t. I just didn’t tell you everything and you knew I was holding things from you. Liz I was always going to tell you that I am your sister.”
“Was dad ever going to tell me?”
“I don’t know. Liz you have to be careful when you get upset like you did. It can cause you to lose control when your powers start to get stronger.”
“So you’re saying that I have powers right now?”
“What do you think those flashes were? What about when you and Isabel reached Max in New York? Liz it won’t be long before they start to show themselves in other ways. Ways that will be dangerous to humans. Do you really want to risk harming your mother, or Maria?”
“No.”
“Then you have to work on keeping cool.”
“So will you help me with my powers?”
“Plan on it. Actually future you told me to help you.”
“Gee nice to know that future me did something helpful besides save Alex’s life.”
“I hope that we will be close one day.”
“Me too.”
“Liz you really should talk to dad. He loves you and was only trying to keep you safe.”
“Serena I’m not ready too.”
“He is the only one that can answer some of the questions you have. He knows more about some of this stuff than I do.”
“He lied to me.”
“You lied to him more than once. You lied about not being shot. Come on Liz you almost died and didn’t tell him. I think that is a big thing.”
“Serena just drop it. I’m not going to talk to dad. I need time to understand what is going on.”
“Ok. But that doesn’t mean dad won’t try and talk to you. I got him to lay off for a little while. But you know that won’t last forever.”
“Serena go home. I want to be alone.”
“Liz what are you doing tomorrow?”
“Why?”
“I want to go out to the desert with you and work on your powers.”
“Whatever.”
“Look Liz I know you’re pissed but the sooner you work on your powers the sooner you will have control. Hey I don’t have to work with you. You can kill someone that you care about for all I care.”

Serena started down the fire escape. Liz ran to the ladder and yelled down at her.

“What time should I be ready?”
“I’ll be here after you get out of school.”
“Ok.”

Serena left and Liz when in to bed.

Part 11

Liz walked into the Crashdown after school and found Serena sitting at the counter drinking a coke and eating fries.

“Let me take my books upstairs and we can go.” said Liz
“Ok.”

Serena watched as Liz walked into the backroom to head upstairs.

“I wish she would talk to me.” said Jeff
“She needs time. I have tried to get her to talk to but she isn’t ready. When she is ready she will come to you. You know that. But right now it might be better if you have Nancy try and talk to Liz.”
“Serena your sister has never been close to her mother.”
“True. But the fact is she feels betrayed by you right now. Yes Nancy didn’t tell her either but Liz knows that it wasn’t her mother’s place to tell her about me.”
“I know now I made a mistake. But at the time I thought that it was the right thing to do.”
“I know. But I don’t plan on pushing Liz on this anytime soon. I just want to work with her and make sure she won’t harm anyone if she gets upset.”
“You really think that is possible?”
“Yes. I know for a fact that it is. Liz needs to learn control.”

Just then Liz walked back into the Crashdown. She walked past both Serena and her father without saying anything. Serena got up and when after Liz.

“Liz I know that you are upset. But you are going to have to push those feeling aside for now. If you want to learn control then you can let your anger get in the way.” said Serena
“Let’s just go.” mumbled Liz

Liz and Serena climbed into Serena’s car and headed out to the desert. Serena drove in silence for a while before speaking to Liz.

“Liz I know that this isn’t going to be easy for you. But you have to understand that you need to push this anger aside while we work. If you don’t you could hurt yourself or me.”
“Serena how can I? My father lied to me.”
“I think he was trying to protect you.”
“By not telling me about you? I could forgive the alien thing. But the fact I had a sister I don’t know.”
“I am not asking you to forgive him. I am asking that you let the anger go. But I also think that you should talk to him. What if something happens to him? Do you really want the last thing you said to him be in anger?”
“Serena you knew about me. I didn’t know about you.”
“Hey at lest in this timeline you know that I am your sister a lot sooner than in the one Alex died in. Oh and got to meet me sooner.”
“Where are we going?”
“A couple miles from the pod chamber.”
“Why?”
“It’s far enough from town that no one will notice anything. And if you blow something up no one will really care.”

Liz knew that this was going to be a long afternoon. She wasn’t sure if anything would happen. But she knew that she had to do this.

Part 12

Max sat in a booth in the Crashdown after school. He knew that Liz was off with Serena. He was surprised when Jeff Parker sat down across from him.

“Mr. Parker.”
“Max I don’t know if Liz told you she isn’t speaking to me.”
“Yeah. She also told me that Serena is her sister.”
“Yes. I want to know if she is handling it ok.”
“Mr. Parker I know that you love Liz. But I will not be a spy for you. When Liz is ready to talk she will come to you.”
“Liz is so stubborn sometimes.”
“You don’t have to tell me that. Mr. Parker I don’t think that Liz will be happy if she sees you talking to me and I have had her mad at me before. I don’t want that to happen again.”
“Will you try and get her to talk to me.”
“Mr. Parker I am not going to get into the middle of whatever is going on with you and Liz. It’s not my place.”
“Max please.”
“I’m sorry Mr. Parker. I can’t betray Liz.”

Jeff nodded and left Max alone.

Liz climbed out of the car and followed Serena to a spot about twenty yards from the car.

“Liz I want you to try and move that rock with your mind.” said Serena
“Serena I don’t know how.”
“Liz it’s easy. All you have to do is see the rock in your mind and where you want it to go.”
“I’ll try.”

Liz closed her eyes and took a deep breath and did as she was told. It didn’t move at first. But after a few minutes the rock had moved about a foot.

“Good.”
“It hardly moved.”
“Liz it’s going to take time to get stronger. But the fact is that isn’t going to be your strongest ability. You get flashes from Max right?”
“Yeah so?”
“The flashes were just the start of your powers. As was the way you reached Max in New York. But you will be able at some point see peoples futures when you touch them.”
“Oh so I will be a real psychic? Not like that quack Miss Cleo?”
“Yeah. But you will have to touch the person or something of theirs to see the future.”
“Oh fun. So I won’t know when the Detroit Lions will win the Super Bowl?”
“Not unless you meet a player that wins with them.”
“Oh well I guess I won’t be able to beat the Vegas odds on that one.”
“Liz there is more to work on.”
“What did you want me to try next?”
“I want you to blow the rock up.”
“Oh and how do I do that?”
“How about thinking of it as Tess’s head and seeing it blow up?”
“You really think that would work?”
“One way to find out.”

Liz closed her eyes and did as Serena said and the next thing she knew the rock was dust.

“Cool.” said Liz
“Nice.”

They worked for another hour before heading back to Roswell.

Part 13

Tess watched as Liz climbed out of the car of the she hadn’t seen before. Tonight she would kill the human. Then she would tell Max that the others would die if he didn’t do what she wanted. But that would have to wait until after dark. She couldn’t let anyone know that she planned to kill Liz Parker. Max would lose his human parents next. Then the rest of the stupid humans.

“Tess just the person I wanted to see.” said Isabel coming up to her.
“What can I do for you Isabel?” asked Tess sweetly
“Get the hell out of Roswell forever.”
“Why would I do that?”
“Because if you don’t then you will have to deal with not only me but Max and Michael as well. And stay away from Liz Parker if you know what is good for you.”
“I don’t understand why are you mad at me?”
“I know you are planning to kill Liz. But here is the thing Liz is never going to be alone long enough for you to get close to her. Oh and you can tell Kivar he can go to hell.”
“This isn’t over Princess.”
“Oh I think it is. You aren’t going to get Max ever. So get the hell out of Roswell or you will die.”
“Kivar is stronger than any of you. He is going to win and then Max is going to be my love slave.”
“God do you know how sick you sound? Now get lost.”
“We will meet again Isabel and don’t think I won’t kill you because I will.”
“Not if I kill you first.”

Tess left and Isabel ran up to Liz’s room.

“Isabel what are you doing here?”
“Liz, I’m spending the night and so is Maria.”
“Why?”
“Tess is planning on killing you. I just confronted her and promised her that you would not be left alone long enough for her to get close enough to kill you. The ring Serena gave you will protect you from mindwarps but not her other powers. I told her to leave Roswell or she will die. But that doesn’t mean that she will leave. We have to be careful.”
“Isabel I don’t get it. There was a time when you wanted Max to stay away from me. Why help me now?”

“If you want you can call Serena and have her spend the night too.”
“I don’t think so.”
“What is going on with you and Serena?”
“Did she tell you that she is my sister? Or that my father it turns out is an alien?”
“Ok that explains your mood.”
“Yeah.”
“Liz have you talked to your dad?”
“No and I don’t plan too.”
“I think you should. But I can’t force you too.”

“He had his reasons for not telling you.”

“Sorry I’m late.” said Maria walking into Liz’s room.
“It’s ok. Liz was just telling me that Serena said she is going to be psychic.” said Isabel
“That is great. I won’t have to drive all the way to Hondo to see Madam Vivian any more.” said Maria
“Who is Madam Vivian?” asked Isabel
“This psychic that Maria’s mother swears by and Maria dragged Alex and me too.” said Liz
“Oh and what is in your futures?” asked Isabel
“Well she told me that Michael and I have no future.” said Maria
“She told Alex that he would never have a romantic relationship with you.” said Liz
“Maybe she was picking up on the fact that Tess was going to kill Alex. Who knows maybe we changed that. Now tell us about your future Miss Parker. Are you the future Mrs. Maxwell James Evans?” asked Isabel
“James? Max’s middle name is James?” asked Liz
“He never told you? You never picked it up in those flashes?” asked Maria
“The flashed were just memories and feelings Maria. Nothing big really.”
“So Liz did the psychic say you will marry Max?” asked Isabel
“Yeah.”
“Then it’s good that I am getting to know you better.” said Isabel
“Yeah I guess your right.”

Just then there was a knock on the door.

“Come in.” said Liz
“Liz I thought you and your friends would like some snacks.” said Jeff
“Thanks. Uh dad can we talk for a minute?”
“Sure.”
“Be right back.”

Liz left with her dad, and Isabel looked at Maria.

“What is that about?” asked Isabel
“Not sure.”

Liz paced in the living room before speaking.

“Dad, why didn’t you tell me about Serena?”
“I was trying to keep you safe.”
“I had a right to know I have a sister.”
“I made a mistake. Liz I always wanted you and Serena to spend time together. But I didn’t know what would happen if you did. You seemed to have no sign of powers. I thought if you were around Serena that you could get hurt.”
“I do have powers dad.”
“I know. They were just dormant. Liz if I could change the past I would. But you should have told me the truth about the day you were shot too.”
“I know. It’s just I made a promise not to tell.”
“You told Maria and Alex.”
“I had too. Or risk losing my two best friends.”
“Then you let Jim and Kyle in. You should have told me that you had found the Royal Four.”
“You know about them?”
“Yes. I was on the ship with them. I am no protector I was trying to get away from Kivar. Zan’s mother made me promise that if I was ever in a place to help the Royal Four that I would, and she would let me leave with them. So I did. Until now I never knew where they were.”
“I thought only two aliens besides the pods lived through the crash?”
“There were three of us. The two protectors and myself. I wasn’t injured so I helped hide the pods and left before the government showed up.”
“Dad, I understand a little better. But that doesn’t mean that I forgive you.”
“I know. Tell your friends the truth about me and let them know I am here to help them.”
“Ok.”

Part 15

Serena picked up the copy of the destiny book once back in her room and started to read through it. She hoped that she would find a way to stop Tess before she when through with her plan. But that was going to take time. Time they didn’t have a lot of.

The Royal Four is made up of Zan the once and future King of Antar. His second in command Rath. Zan’s sister Princess Vilandra and Zan’s wife Ava. They are the Royal Four but they will only reach their full potential when they join with humans.

“Tess would be pissed to read that!”

Just then there was a knock on the motel room door. She got up and opened it to find Max and Michael there.

“What can I do for you boys?”
“Serena is there a way to stop Tess?” asked Max
“I was just trying to see if there are any answers in the destiny book on that.”
“Is Maria safe with Tess around?” asked Michael
“To be honest I don’t think that any of us are safe as long as she is around. I am working with Liz but it’s going to take time to have her gain full control of her powers. Time that we don’t have a lot of. Kivar is going to come here when Tess doesn’t return to Antar with your child.”
“I know. Is there a way to stop him without humans being harmed?” asked Max
“I hope so. I kinda like being around the humans. Hell I’m half human myself.”
“What do you mean?” asked Michael
“My mother is human and my father is Antarian.”
“So your father is on Earth?” asked Max
“Yes. But I can’t tell you any more than that.”
“Can’t or won’t?” asked Michael
“Michael it doesn’t matter. She isn’t going to tell us who he is either way.” said Max
“I know you want to know. But the fact is I can’t tell you without talking to him first. I hope that he is willing to help you but that doesn’t mean he will.”
“Is there anything helpful in that book?” asked Max
“I just started going through it. I will let you know if I find anything useful.”
“Serena what do you know that you’re not telling us?” asked Michael
“Michael why don’t you go spend time with Maria?”
“Maria and Isabel are doing a girls night with Liz. They are worried that Tess is going to go after her anytime now.” said Michael
“Max I know you are worried about Liz.”
“Serena there is nothing I can do. Her parents won’t let me stay there. I have to do something and finding away to stop Tess is all I can do right now. I love Liz more than anything and for some reason I know that you care about Liz more than what you will admit.” said Max
“I do care about Liz. She is destined for great things.”
“What do you mean?” asked Max
“She is going to be your Queen. She so doesn’t want to admit that it scares her. I can only do so much in training her for this. She has to accept her destiny on her own though.”
“How do you know all this?” asked Michael
“I just do. There is something else we have to take care of this weekend. There are these blue crystal things on Earth. Its called gandarium. If it infects the human population it will destroy the world. The best way to stop it is to find the Queen and kill it. Then the rest of it will die.”
“Serena what is gandarium?” asked Max
“From what I understand it is use to bridge the gap between human and alien DNA. They don’t mix well without it in making hybrids.”
“You are a hybrid do you have gandarium in you?” asked Max
“No. If a human and alien create a child then there is no need for it. Why I can’t tell you.”
“What are you hiding Serena?” asked Max
“Nothing you need to worry about. Michael I promise you that I’m not evil like that tramp blond.”
“Why won’t you tell us everything then?” asked Michael
“Because some of this isn’t for me to tell you. I know for a fact that there are other aliens on Earth. Right now we should focus on getting rid of the gandarium. If we don’t and it finds the right person it will change into an unstoppable virus and destroy all life on Earth.”
“How do we find it?” asked Michael
“That is a good question. Lucky for us Future Liz used some of her down time to leave a note on where the nest is and who is infected with the Queen. Good thing is he isn’t one of the one in like 500 thousand or so that will cause the virus to be come active. But the bad thing is without killing him I don’t know if we can stop it.”
“Who is it?” asked Max
“A man named Grant Sorenson.”
“Grant?” asked Michael
“You know him?”
“Yeah Isabel has gone out with him a few times.” said Max
“He hates Max.” said Michael
“Not surprising. The Queen is controlling him right now. I need time to think. Check back with me tomorrow I’ll let you know what I come up with.”
“Ok come on Maxwell.” said Michael

The boys left and Serena picked up the phone a called her father.

“Dad is there a way to stop the gandarium Queen once it’s in a host without killing the host?”
“Serena do you know how late it is?”
“Yes. But this is imported.”
“Well the gandarium needs oxygen to live so if you were to deprive the host of oxygen for a period of time it should kill the Queen and the rest of the gandarium. But you would have to act quickly to revive the host with CPR.”
“Thanks dad. Night.”
“Good night Serena.”

Serena hung up the phone and started to work out how she was going to get Grant right where she needed him. She knew that she would need Isabel and Max for it to work. Hopefully if they stopped the gandarium now things would die down for a little while and she could just work on training Liz and possibly Kyle soon.

Part 16

After leaving the Crashdown Tess got in her car and drove out of town. She drove into a town about two hours from Roswell. She parked in front of an old diner and headed in. She had been there for five minutes when a man that stood about six five with sandy blond hair and cold blue eyes sat down across from her.

“What the hell is going on in that stupid town?”
“The Princess has taken to playing body guard to that human bitch of Max’s.”
“Tess your job is to bring the Royal brats to me.”
“Well it would be easier if that strawberry blond hadn’t showed up.”
“Serena is in Roswell?”
“That’s her name?”
“Yes and she is a pain in the ass. She is powerful too for a half breed.”
“What do you mean half breed?”
“Tessie, Serena’s mother is a stupid human. I don’t know who her father is other than he is in on Earth.”
“How do I get rid of the human bitch?”
“The mindwarps aren’t working?”
“No they are being blocked somehow.”
“They have to have Vanuatu stones. Those are the only thing that can stop a mindwarp.”
“Anyway to destroy the stones?”
“No stupid. There is nothing that you can do to get rid of the stones.”
“What am I to do about them then?”
“Don’t you have a brain stupid girl? I’m not going to tell you what to do. Come up with something on your own. If you don’t you will die. Do I make myself clear?”
“Yes sir.”
“Good. Now get the hell back to that stupid town.”

Tess got up and walked out of the diner. She didn’t know what to do. Then she got an idea. She would use Kyle as bait for the rest of them. He would never see her coming. She smiled as she drove back to Roswell. Two hours later she walked into the Valenti house. She found Kyle in the living room watching a hockey game.

“Hi Kyle.”
“What do you want Tess?”
“Just wanted to see how you are doing?”
“Tess you should leave. I know that you want to kill Liz. Leave now my dad is going to find out and let me tell you something. He loves Liz. Her father is his best friend. So leave now or I will get Michael over here to throw you out.”
“Fine but your coming with me Buddha Boy.”
“Like hell.”

Tess grabbed Kyle and just as she set the sofa on fire and blew up the TV.

“Now come with me or die.”

Kyle wasn’t stupid he followed Tess out to her car but not without leaving a few clues for his dad to find.

Part 17

Serena woke the next morning to her cell phone ringing. She picked up the phone and answered it.

“Hello?”
“Serena you need to get to the Crashdown fast.”
“Liz?”
“Tess is holding Kyle hostage.”
“Be there in five minutes.”

Serena hung up the phone and got dressed and headed for the Crashdown. When she got there she saw the others waiting for her. She walked in and sat down at the table Liz was at.

“Now what happened?” asked Serena
“Who are you?” asked Jim Valenti
“Sheriff I am someone who can help save your son.” said Serena
“She is also my daughter.” said Jeff walking in.
“What?” asked Michael
“Liz did you know about this?” asked Max
“Yes. Max we can talk about this after Kyle is safe. Right now we have to find Kyle before Tess kills him.” said Liz
“I came home last night and found Kyle gone. I didn’t think anything of it until I found some clues that showed that he didn’t leave by choice. Why would Tess do this?”
“Sheriff she cut a deal with the Skins. She mindwarped Alex into translating the Destiny book. It almost killed him.” said Max
“What does she want with Kyle?”
“To use as bait so that she can take us back to Antar so that Kivar can kill us. Oh and she wants to have Max’s kid.” said Isabel
“Where would Tess take Kyle?” asked Serena
“The Pod chamber is a good place to start.” said Maria
“We need a plan.” said Michael
“Liz you’re staying here. I know that you want to help Kyle but the fact is you don’t have control yet. You would be in too much danger.” said Serena
“I hate sitting around doing nothing.” said Liz
“You won’t be doing nothing. Liz if you let me I’ll work with you so that you can gain control. I helped Serena when she was a child. I should have been helping you all this time.” said Jeff
“Dad as much as I would like that you have to help get Kyle back. Tess doesn’t know about you and it would come as a surprise. I wouldn’t put it past Tess to kill Kyle. I don’t want him to die for no good reason.” said Liz
“Are you sure Liz?” asked Jeff
“Yes dad. Besides it’s not the first time I had to sit around while others when to rescue someone I cared about. Just be careful. I may be upset with you. But I don’t want to lose you either. The same goes for all of you. You come back here safely understand? That means you too Serena.” said Liz
“You know I will be careful Liz. I really want us to get to know each other.” said Serena
“Liz you will be ok here?” asked Max
“Yes Max. I won’t be alone anyway. Maria, Alex, my mom and the Sheriff will be here. We can play cards or something. We will find a way to pass the time.” said Liz
“I don’t like leaving you here without protection.” said Max
“Max we will be fine. I may not have control yet but I’m sure I will be able to do something if need be.” said Liz
“Besides they ain’t going to be alone.” came a voice from the door of the Crashdown.

Everyone turned and saw a girl who looked just like Tess expect that she had pink and sliver streaked in her hair, tattoos and multiple piercing. Liz was the first to recognize the girl.

“Ava what are you doing here?” asked Liz
“Came back to hell you out Cornball. Maybe teach ya to blow things up good.” said Ava with a grin.
“I called her.” said Serena
“Yeah, you know your sister is almost a bigger cornball than you are Liz. Besides I owe ya for being so nice to me when I was last in Roswell.” said Ava
“How do we know that she can be trusted? I mean she looks like Tess.” said Nancy
“Because she is nothing like Tess. Michael and Isabel’s evil twins murdered Max’s twin and told her if she told anyone that she was basically dead.” said Liz
“Ok Ava will stay here with Liz and the humans. The rest of us will go and get Kyle. I want you all to understand that we may have to kill Tess to get that done.” said Max
“I’m ready whenever you are fearless leader.” said Michael
“You be careful Michael or you will have to deal with me is that clear?” said Maria
“Yes ma’am.” said Michael

Everyone said their goodbyes and headed out of the Crashdown. Max stood in front of Liz and then slowly leaned down and gave her a kiss.

“Come back to me Max.”
“You know I will.”
“I’ll look out for him Lizzie.” said Jeff
“Thanks dad.” said Liz

Max and Jeff left and Liz looked at the clock. It was almost noon. She hoped that by dusk everyone would be back safely.

“You know this is the first place they are going to look for you.” said Kyle
“Shut up. Buddha boy you are nothing but bait. I will get Max. Liz Parker is nothing but a stupid human.”
“Liz Parker is ten times smarter than you will ever be. Tess you can’t force someone to love you. I learned that when Liz dumped me for Max.”
“Max is mine. I was his wife.”
“Yeah well that was in the past. People have free will. They make there own choices. Get over it.”
“Max Evans is my destiny!”
“Give me a break freak! There is no destiny. People make their own destiny.”
“Max isn’t human.”
“Max is more human than you will ever be. Oh Buddha I never thought that I would be on his side!”
“Shut up with all the stupid Buddha crap. I don’t know how I put up with you for so long. You are noting but a pain in the ass. I mean it if you don’t keep your mouth shut I will shut it for good do you understand me?”

Kyle just nodded. He was scared to death. He never saw Tess betraying them coming. He should have known that something was up with her. But he didn’t. He could only pray that Max would come to save his life. He watched as Tess paced in the pod chamber. He had to wonder what her plans were other than to kill Liz. He couldn’t understand why Tess hated Liz so much. He knew that he would never be best buddies with Max but that was different. He was with Liz when she fell in love with Max. Tess had never been with Max. He needed a plan in case he had to get himself out of this mess. But he had no clue what to do. He would just have to wait for now.

Max watched Serena as they drove out to the pod chamber. She hadn’t said a word since they had left the Crashdown. He wanted to say something but didn’t know what.

“Liz just found out the night you met me.” said Serena softly.
“Why didn’t she tell me?”
“I don’t know. I know that she didn’t take the news well. She was hurt. I mean here she was thinking that she was an only child only to find out that she has a half sister and her father is an alien. It couldn’t have been very easy for Liz to deal with. I hadn’t met her until recently but I did know about her. Max I want you to know that I will never betray you. I want to stop Kivar as much as you do.”
“Serena how can I trust you when you don’t tell me everything?”
“Max I don’t know everything that is going to happen. I do know that this won’t be the end. Liz is going to have to work hard on her powers. So will Kyle. He is going to get powers I know that much. The thing is Alex stands a good chance of getting powers too.”
“Maria is going to feel like she doesn’t belong. Not having any powers.”
“Hey I could point out to her that the only reason that Kyle and Alex have any powers is that they almost died and had to be healed. Liz was always going to get them. You just sped it up a bit.”
“Are you sure that Tess can’t mind warp us?”
“Max the Vanuatu stones are some the most powerful counter power stones on Antar. As long as you have the stone her mind warps are useless.”
“Serena thank you for risking your life for someone you don’t even know.”
“Max you’re my King. My father may not be a protector but he did promise your Antarian mother that he would help you if you needed it. It’s in my blood to help. But I would do this anyway. Kyle is a friend of Liz’s. She cares about him. Besides I wouldn’t want my worst enemy to spend too much time with Tess.”
“Are you sure they will be safe with Ava?”
“Ava isn’t Tess Max.”
“I know that.”
“Ava won’t betray you. Some how I think that her pod and Tess’s got switched after the crash. I don’t know how but that is possible.”
“We will be there soon Maxwell.” said Michael from the front seat.
“Then we need to be ready to fight.”

Part 19

Liz sat in a booth by herself. She was scared for her friends and for her father. She knew that it was possible that they wouldn’t be able to stop Tess or even be killed by her. She was most worried about Max and Serena. She hadn’t even had the chance to really get to know her sister yet, and Max well she didn’t know what she would do without him. She was lost in thought and didn’t notice that Ava had sat across from her until she spoke.

“They will be ok Liz.”
“How do you know?”
“I don’t. You do. You would know if you weren’t going to see any of them again. You would have seen their future.”
“Ava I don’t understand. I can just can know someone’s future?”
“No you got to touch the person. I don’t know much else. When Rena gets back she could tell ya more.”
“Why did you come back?”
“Had too. Look Liz I know that we have to stop Kivar. I may not care if I ever go back to that planet but I can’t let Kivar win.”
“You know something about what happened before you all died don’t you?”
“Yeah. I do. Don’t want to talk about it. You want to try and see if you can see Maria’s future?”
“Why Maria’s?”
“Don’t know. Just thought that she would be a good one to start with. All you got to do is hold her hands and clear your mind. Think only about Maria. In time you will be able to get the visions without thinking about it very hard. But until then you got to force your powers to do what you want.”
“Ok. Let’s see if I can do this.”

Ava smiled she knew that Liz would be up to it.


“Yo Maria.” yelled Ava
“What?” asked Maria
“I want to try something Maria. Will you let me?” asked Liz
“You’re not going to use me to shoot at are you?” asked Maria
“Of course not! I want to see if I can see into your future. See if you and Michael end up together.” said Liz
“You know what Madam Vivian said. That would be a no.” said Maria
“But that was before Future Max and Future Me. Who the hell knows it could work out now.”
“If you really want to. Then tell me oh wise one if Space boy and I end up together.”

Liz couldn’t help but roll her eyes. Maria was such a drama queen sometimes. Liz watched as Maria sat down across from Liz. Liz then took Maria’s hands and took a deep breath and let her mind go blank. It wasn’t long before the flashes started.

Liz pulled away after a couple of seconds. Maria looked at her before speaking.

“So was Madam Vivian right?”
“Maria you shouldn’t know too much. But I will say I see you and Michael both very happy in the future.”
“So you are saying that we will be together?”
“I would say that there is a good chance of it.”
“Thanks Liz. You know that I love you right?”
“What are best friends for?”

Maria hugged Liz. Liz could only pray that nothing would change Maria’s chances at a happy future.

“So I take it that it worked?” asked Ava
“Yeah it did.” said Liz
“Cool.”
“Ava are you ok?” asked Liz
“Sure why not?”
“It’s just that you seem unhappy that is all.” said Liz
“Look Cornball I’ll be ok. I mean it ain’t like I haven’t been an outsider before. You know that is how Lonnie and Rath saw me. Zan didn’t really love me. I mean I’m sure there is someone out there for me. I just gotta look for him you know?” said Ava
“Maria who do you think would be a good match for Ava?” asked Liz
“I don’t know. I think that Buddha boy will drive her crazy but who knows it might work.” said Maria
“You know I was thinking the same thing. I was also wondering if Serena is seeing anyone. I mean I want her to be happy too.”
“Ask her when she gets back.” said Maria
“I think I will.”

The three girls talked some more about nothing that was really imported while they waited for the others to get back.
