Summary: After Future Max leaves, Liz doesn't think she has the power to watch Max and Tess together so she goes to Maria for advise only to have it blow up in her face. Now she has no clue what to do. So what happens when Liz goes to Tree Hill and starts a new life.

Takes place after Roswell: End of the World & One Tree Hill: Before Season 2 but after Season 1.

Prologue
Liz sat in her room crying her eyes out after future Max had disappeared and for some reason she just couldn't stop. Staying here in Roswell was getting harder than she ever thought possible. Just then, Liz saw a blinding white light.
'Can you really just stand by and watch as Max and Tess rekindle what they once had?' A voice asked her.
"I don't think I can."
'Just be strong, honey bear, and follow your heart now that it is going in another direction.'
"Grandma, is that you?"
'Yes Liz.'
"But how is this possible?" Liz stood up and walked over to her grandmother.
'You fell asleep and now we are in your dream.'
"Oh..." Liz fell silent. "I need your help.
'No you don't, honey bear. You have so many people who love you. Why don't you go back to Tree hill? I mean you loved it there.'
"I did love it there but I have no where to live."
'If you would just talk to your parents you would see that you do have something out there. Now I have to go because you have to wake up.'
"No wait." Liz yelled as her grandmother's light dimmed. "Wait."
'Wake up, Liz. It's time to-.'
Liz felt a hand on her shoulder softly shaking her awake. When she opened her eyes, Liz saw her mom.
"You were in quite the deep sleep, Lizzie." Liz sat up in her bed and stared into her mother's eyes. "What's wrong baby?"
"I need to ask you something, mom."

(Two weeks later)
"So this is your last day here as a waitress, huh Liz?" Kyle asked her.
"Yep and my shift just finished, so you wanna catch a movie wit me and Alex."
After what happened with Max and everything, it seemed that no one wanted to even look at her other than Kyle and Alex. They were the only two who stayed her friends. While she knew Michael, Isabel and Tess would of course be on Max's side, not once did Liz think that Maria would turn on her but she did. It was like nothing she'd ever seen before but Liz was glad that it happened. She got to see who her real friends were.
"Sure. Why not? I mean tonight IS your last night in Roswell. So what the hell? Let's paint the town black."
"Ha ha, Kyle or should I call you Buddha boy?" Liz joked as she backed towards the back.
"I'll get you for that. Just you wait and see, Parker."
As Liz giggled her way into the back to change, niether her nor Kyle noticed that Michael was behind the grill and he had heard everythng.

"Liz is what?" Max almost yelled.
"She's moving but I don't know where. She and Kyle were light on details but I do know that their going to the movies today." Michael said as he walked into his bedroom.
After Liz and Kyle had left, Michael's shift had finished and the first thing he did was call a meeting. He had to let everyone know what was happening just incase it had something to do with them. They had already gone through their dupes and Max almost going to New York but they had survived until now.
"Ava had said that Liz was now different. And to Liz's face." Isabel snapped. "Why the hell would she leave?"
"To start over, I think." Maria said. "I mean I overheard the Parkers talking about new starts some where that sounded like Knee Pill or something like that. At first I thought that they were talking about family but then I remembered that Liz doesn't have alot of family other than in Florida and the last time I checked, there was no Knee Pill in Florida."
"God I hate it when you do that." Tess said under her breath.
"So what do we do?" Michael asked now in a fresh shirt and pants.
"We go after her and stop her." Max simply stated. "It's either us or her."

"So much for the movies." Alex joked as he, Liz and Kyle stared up at the stars in the back of Alex's yard.
"But this is so much better." Liz said as she smiled at the sky. "Plus I think Michael might have over heard me and Kyle."
"So this is like the last place they'll find us. Good thinking." Kyle mocked. "Oh wait, doesn't Alex live here?"
"Hey!" Liz shot up. "I got an idea. Why don't we go to that old park?"
"What park?" The guys asked at the same time.
"It's that park that is near the hotel but it has places to sleep."
"Oh I know that place." Kyle said snapping his fingers. "Why go there?"
"So the others can't find us but we can't tell our parents." Liz looked at her two only friends.
"Then what do we tell them?" Alex asked. A small smile spread across Liz's face. "I know that look. Ohhhhh. This won't be pretty."

(In Tree Hill)
"I can't believe she's finally coming back." Haley yelled as she dropped onto Lucas' bed.
"Who's finally coming?" Lucas turned to Haley in his chair.
"Liz Parker. Me and her have been like this since forever." Haley said as she crossed her index finger with her middle finger.
"But I thought we were like that?" Lucas joked until Haley gave him her dirty look which really just looked like she was crazy. "Just kidding." Lucas looked at the notebook in front of him and then back at Haley. "Liz Parker? Why is that name familiar?"
"Because she came here for the summer like 3 years ago."
"OH, that Liz Parker. Wasn't she like a snob?"
"Only to you but you totally deserved it when you threw her into the pool after she told you not to."
"But it was a party, Haley."
"No. It was a small gathering in her grandmother's beach house and if I remember correctly, you had a little thing for her?"
"No way, Hales. I didn't have a thing for her. I don't even remember her." Lucas lied.
"Fine, lie to your best friend but I just want one thing from you when she shows up."
"What is that?"
"I want you to be nice to Liz."
"Nice?"
"Yeah."
"Only if she's nice to me." Haley stood up off Lucas' bed.
"Fine, I'll be sure to tell her. Gotta go." Haley smiled at Lucas before walking out of his room.

"Now this is nice." Alex said, laying down on the sleeping bag he brought.
With Alex's parents being out of town, Liz and Kyle were able to lie to their parents about staying there. Of course there was the little thing with the aliens but Liz had that covered when she told her parents just to tell them that she was asleep. That would keep them all pre-occupied while Alex, Liz and Kyle broke night for the last time.
"I can't believe we pulled it off." Liz giggled as she rested her head on Alex's stomach.
"I know what you mean. When I got home to tell dad I was going to stay at Alex's, Tess flipped out on me about hanging out with you guys."
"She doesn't know the truth. That's why she's acting like that." Alex said as he ran his fingers through Liz's hair. "That's why they're all acting the way they're acting."
"Because they don't know why I staged Kyle and me together." Liz let out a deep breath. "Thank you guys for standing by my side. It means alot to me especially now that I'm leaving." Tears stung Liz's eyes.
"Let's just think about the good, Liz." Kyle said as he laid on her stomach.
"Let's."

A New Way Out...8/16/07
Chapter 1
(The Next Day)
Liz was the first one to wake up. The whole night all she, Alex and Kyle did was talk about what they were going to do when Liz moved to Tree Hill. It was already said that over the summer both would visit her but until then, they would just call Liz on the weekends. Liz heard a groan come from Kyle as he turned away from the sun.
"Guys?" Liz gently shook both Alex and Kyle on their shoulders but niether of them moved. "Guys?" Liz said a little more forcefully. This time she got them up.
"Is it morning already?" Alex asked.
"Yep."
"God I hate mornings." Kyle said as he sat up.
"I know you do but we gotta get the hell out of her because my flight is in..." Liz looked at her watch. "Holy shit. My flight is in an hour."
That got them all to jump up and run to Kyle's car. As they pulled out and drove down the street, the jeep had just parked in the lot.
"Do you think they'll be here?" Max asked Maria as they all got out of the jeep.
"This is where we use to go when we didn't want to go home." Maria said as she fixed her shirt.
"Why didn't you tell us this before?" Tess snapped.
The five of them had been going crazy looking for Liz, Kyle and Alex only coming up empty at every turn. Not that Tess cared because she didn't. She had Max and most of Liz's friends so all she needed was to have Liz move but for some reason Max just wouldn't let that bitch go even after she slept with Kyle.
"Because I forgot about it! Liz, Alex and I haven't come here since before she was shot. Then when they closed it up, I guess it just was erased from my mind."
"Guess it wasn't erased from Liz's mind?" Isabel said as she started walking into the park.
After looking forever, they finally found what looked to be the bracelett that Max had given to Liz on her birthday. It was stuck to what looked like a piece of blanket. Michael was the first to find it.
"Found something." He held both the bracelett and the piece of blanket in both his hands. Max was the first to make it to Michael.
"That's Liz's." He said as he looked down at the bracelett. "They were here."
"How do you know?" Isabel asked as she, Tess and Maria finally got over to them.
"It's still warm."
"It must have slipped off without her knowing it because Liz wouldn't take that thing off for the world." Maria stated as she grabbed it out of Max's hand. "What else did you find, Michael?"
"Just this piece of blanket." Maria turned and looked at it.
"It's a piece of the blanket that Alex keeps on the foot of his bed."
"So they were here and we what? Just missed them?" Tess freaked out. "Great!"
"Wait." Isabel said.
"What?"
"If they just left then that means that they all went home."
"Okay?" Tess questioned.
"So they'll be at home. Let's go." Max said as he started for the jeep. 'I'm not letting you leave, Liz.'

Instead of going to their own houses, Alex and Kyle both went to the Parker's with Liz. It was a good thing to because the Parkers already had everything in the car and were ready to leave.
"Come on, come on." Jeff Parker said as he rushed the kids into the car.
"Off we go." Nancy Parker said as she smiled back at the 3 friends.
On the way to the airport, Kyle called his dad and told him that he was going to see Liz off to the airport. Valenti told Kyle that that would be alright and to tell Liz that he said bye.
When they finally got to the airport, they all practically flew to get Liz in on time. When they got to the front, the flight attendent said that they had gotten there just in time. Letting out a deep breath, Liz smiled at the lady as she got her ticket. Then she turned and they all started to where Liz needed to be.
"Guess this is me." Liz said as she looked at the sign that said 'Tree Hill'. Liz turned to her parents and smiled. "I'mma miss you guys."
"We'll miss you too." Nancy said as she pulled Liz into her arms. When she let go, Jeff was quick to hug Liz.
"Be good honey and don't get into trouble."
"I won't dad." Liz giggled as she pulled away. Then she turned to her two best friends.
"Remember to call us once you get there." Alex remindered her.
"Of course. I'll call you." Alex opened his arms and Liz willingly fell into them. "I'll miss you the most because no matter what, you've been there for me."
Alex looked down at Liz. "Of course I would."
"Thank you."
"No problem." Liz pulled out of Alex's arms and turned to Kyle.
"What can I say about you, Kyle?"
"You know you love me." He joked.
"That I do and I thank you for being such amazing friend when you didn't have to be."
"No problem. Now give me some sugar so you don't miss your plane." Liz giggled as she hugged Kyle.
When she pulled out of his arms, Liz walked over to the waiting flight attendent and gave him her plane ticket. When he gave it back to her, Liz looked back at the 4 people who she loved so much. Before she could cry, Liz finally took the last steps into the plane.

The pod squad and Maria had just gotten to the airport when they saw the Parkers, Kyle and Alex all walk out the front doors without Liz. They didn't notice any of them until Maria ran up to the Parkers.
"She's gone?"
"She's gone." Nancy said. She was mad at Maria for turning her back on Liz when it was obvious that Liz needed her.
"Sorry you missed it." Kyle smirked. "See you guys later. Come on Alex, you wanna do something until Liz calls?"
"Hell yea." The Parkers had already walked away from the small group so Alex and Kyle were the ones who walked away from the group.
"Damn it!" Max yelled. "We were so close."
"You're telling me." Michael said as he rubbed his eyes. "Take me home, Maxwell. I'm tired and I have to work today."
"Fine." They all walked back to the jeep, Tess being the only one with a smile on her face.
(The Next Day)

Chapter 2
(In Tree Hill)
"So when is she getting here?" Nathan asked Haley as he, Haley and Lucas all waited in the airport.
"Soon."
"Is she cool or am I going to have a problem with her?"
"What's with all the questions?" Haley asked turning to Nathan. Just yesterday, he was great with Liz coming but now. Not so much.
"I just want to know."
"Fine. Liz is just like me." Haley stopped. "Well, almost like me."
"How did you two meet?"
"Um," Haley smiled. "It's really funny actually. Liz's grandmother dated our neighbor and on day, Liz came to visit her. So that day, Lucas was playing basketball in the yard and when I asked to have a shot, I threw the ball and it kind of....hit Liz as she was walking by." Nathan burst out laughing.
"Are you serious?" He said between chuckles.
"Hey. That was so embarassing I didn't know what to do. Of course, Lucas took the blame but I still feel bad."
"Flight 234 Santa Fe, New Mexico to Tree Hill, North Carolina has just landed."
"That's Liz." Haley said getting excited.
"Did she get here yet?" Lucas asked from behind Nathan.
"Just." Nathan moved away from Haley. "So what is Liz really like?"
Lucas scoffed.
"Oh she's great. If you like crazy weird."
"What do you mean?"
"Nothing. Me and her just never seen eye to eye about alot of things."
"Yeah I heard." Nathan said laughing a little.
"Then you know that she totally overreacted. So what if it was a new dress. You don't wear something new to a pool party."
"Wait. What?" Nathan gave Lucas a confused look.
"I thought Haley told you?"
"She did. About her hitting Liz in the head with your basketball."
"Oh. Well there was that too."
"What were you talking about?"
"It's-."
"LIZ!"
"HALEY!" A small brunette ran over to Haley and embrassed her. They were both laughing and talking when Liz finally noticed Nathan and Lucas. "Hey Luke. How's the basketball playing been going?"
"Should have known." Lucas said as he and Nathan walked over to Liz and Haley. "Liz. How's the new dress fitting you?"
"Ha. Ha. Ha. Real funny jackass. I'll remember that next time I have a party."
"I'm sure you will."
"Okay. Liz," Haley said as she pointed to Nathan. "This is my boyfriend, Nathan Scott. Nate this is my friend, Elizabeth Parker."
"Hey Nate." Liz said as she stuck her hand out. "Do you mind if I call you Nate?"
"Nope. Mind if I call you Liz?"
"Please do. Anything else just won't do." Liz said making her and Haley laugh.
"I don't get it."
"Inside joke." Lucas told him.
"Oh."
"So let's get you to your new house." Haley said as she lead Liz to the baggage cart.

(Roswell)
"What do you think she's doing right now?" Kyle asked Alex as they walked into the Crashdown.
"Probably just getting in. You know Liz. She is a total neatfreak."
"Yeah, you're right."
Neither guy saw the Pod Squad in their usual spot nor did they see Maria as she walked over to them.
"Hey guys."
"Maria." Kyle said as he walked around her and to the counter.
"What's his problem?" She snapped.
"Won't really know. He was fine with me." Alex told her.
"Okay." Maria walked away from Alex and to the Pod Squad. "Hey guys. What can I get for you?"
"Did you hear from Liz yet?" Max asked while Tess rolled her eyes.
"No and I doubt I will since she and I are no longer on talking terms."
"How about the guys? Did either of them hear from her?"
"Don't know? Kyle just walked away from me and Alex didn't act like he talked to her."
"Can you ask?" Max asked sounding desperate. Maria looked at everyone at the table. Michael was shaking his head while Isabel stared at Alex's back. Only Tess was staring at Maria as if to tell her 'Don't ask them shit!
"Sure why not?" Maria turned on her heel and walked to Alex and Kyle. "Hey did either of you happen to talk to Liz?"
Kyle just gave Maria a look while Alex shook his head.
"No. Why? Has she called you?" Kyle covered his laugh.
"No. I just wanted to know."
"Yeah well, she hasn't-." Just then Kyle's phone rang. "Damn phone." Kyle pulled it out of his pocket and looked at the caller ID. "Oh. Gotta get this." He put his head to the line. Liz?"
"What's up Kyle? I just got to the house."
"Really? How is it?"
"Great. Dirty but great. It's actually really huge."
"That sounds cool."
"Yeah. So I was just calling to tell you and Alex that I got here and not to worrry. I already called my parents so don't worry about them."
"Okay."
"Tell Alex I love him and bye."
"Hey."
"What?"
"What? You don't love me?" Kyle joked. Then he heard Liz giggle.
"Of course I love you but I gotta go. This place needs a Liz Parker make over." Now it was Kyle's turn to laugh.
"No problem. Bye Liz."
"Bye Kyle." Then Kyle hung up his phone.
"Liz says she just got to her new place and says it's huge. Then she said that she loves you and then had to leave." Kyle filled Alex in.
"Did she say anything to me?" Maria asked.
"Nope. I don't think she did. Sorry." Maria nodded her head.
"Well we didn't really leave things on good terms?"
"Well, sorry about that." Kyle said. "Now to the orders."

"Do you need any help?" Haley asked Liz as they walked into Liz's new bedroom with her suitcases.
"Not really. I just gotta unpack. I'll clean this place up tomorrow. Right now, all I want to do is go for a swim." Haley giggled.
"No problem. I'll see you tomorrow." As Haley walked out, both Nathan and Lucas walked in with the last of her 5 suitcases.
"Done." Lucas said.
"Thanks."
"No problem." Nathan said. Then Haley yelled for them to hurry up. "There's Haley." Nathan turned to Liz. "It was nice to meet you Liz."
"You too Nate. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Sure." Nathan walked out leaving Lucas and Liz alone.
"So, what are you going to do today?" Lucas asked as he looked around the room.
"You told Haley that you were stayng?" Liz asked.
"Yeah. Just wait." As if on cue, they both heard the car drive off. "Finally."
Liz ran over to Lucas and jumped into his arms, smashing her lips onto his.

"I thought Haley told you?"
"She did. About her hitting Liz in the head with your basketball."
"Oh. Well there was that too."

"HALEY!" A small brunette ran over to Haley and embrassed her. They were both laughing and talking when Liz finally noticed Nathan and Lucas. "Hey Luke. How's the basketball playing been going?"
"Should have known." Lucas said as he and Nathan walked over to Liz and Haley. "Liz. How's the new dress fitting you?"
"Ha. Ha. Ha. Real funny jackass. I'll remember that next time I have a party."
"I'm sure you will."
"Okay. Liz," Haley said as she pointed to Nathan. "This is my boyfriend, Nathan Scott. Nate this is my friend, Elizabeth Parker."
"Hey Nate." Liz said as she stuck her hand out. "Do you mind if I call you Nate?"
"Nope. Mind if I call you Liz?"
"Please do. Anything else just won't do." Liz said making her and Haley laugh.
"I don't get it."
"Inside joke." Lucas told him.
"Oh."
"So let's get you to your new house." Haley said as she lead Liz to the baggage cart.

"What do you think she's doing right now?" Kyle asked Alex as they walked into the Crashdown.
"Probably just getting in. You know Liz. She is a total neatfreak."
"Yeah, you're right."
Neither guy saw the Pod Squad in their usual spot nor did they see Maria as she walked over to them.
"Hey guys."
"Maria." Kyle said as he walked around her and to the counter.
"What's his problem?" She snapped.
"Won't really know. He was fine with me." Alex told her.
"Okay." Maria walked away from Alex and to the Pod Squad. "Hey guys. What can I get for you?"
"Did you hear from Liz yet?" Max asked while Tess rolled her eyes.
"No and I doubt I will since she and I are no longer on talking terms."
"How about the guys? Did either of them hear from her?"
"Don't know? Kyle just walked away from me and Alex didn't act like he talked to her."
"Can you ask?" Max asked sounding desperate. Maria looked at everyone at the table. Michael was shaking his head while Isabel stared at Alex's back. Only Tess was staring at Maria as if to tell her 'Don't ask them shit!
"Sure why not?" Maria turned on her heel and walked to Alex and Kyle. "Hey did either of you happen to talk to Liz?"
Kyle just gave Maria a look while Alex shook his head.
"No. Why? Has she called you?" Kyle covered his laugh.
"No. I just wanted to know."
"Yeah well, she hasn't-." Just then Kyle's phone rang. "Damn phone." Kyle pulled it out of his pocket and looked at the caller ID. "Oh. Gotta get this." He put his head to the line. Liz?"
"What's up Kyle? I just got to the house."
"Really? How is it?"
"Great. Dirty but great. It's actually really huge."
"That sounds cool."
"Yeah. So I was just calling to tell you and Alex that I got here and not to worrry. I already called my parents so don't worry about them."
"Okay."
"Tell Alex I love him and bye."
"Hey."
"What?"
"What? You don't love me?" Kyle joked. Then he heard Liz giggle.
"Of course I love you but I gotta go. This place needs a Liz Parker make over." Now it was Kyle's turn to laugh.
"No problem. Bye Liz."
"Bye Kyle." Then Kyle hung up his phone.
"Liz says she just got to her new place and says it's huge. Then she said that she loves you and then had to leave." Kyle filled Alex in.
"Did she say anything to me?" Maria asked.
"Nope. I don't think she did. Sorry." Maria nodded her head.
"Well we didn't really leave things on good terms?"
"Well, sorry about that." Kyle said. "Now to the orders."

"Do you need any help?" Haley asked Liz as they walked into Liz's new bedroom with her suitcases.
"Not really. I just gotta unpack. I'll clean this place up tomorrow. Right now, all I want to do is go for a swim." Haley giggled.
"No problem. I'll see you tomorrow." As Haley walked out, both Nathan and Lucas walked in with the last of her 5 suitcases.
"Done." Lucas said.
"Thanks."
"No problem." Nathan said. Then Haley yelled for them to hurry up. "There's Haley." Nathan turned to Liz. "It was nice to meet you Liz."
"You too Nate. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Sure." Nathan walked out leaving Lucas and Liz alone.
"So, what are you going to do today?" Lucas asked as he looked around the room.
"You told Haley that you were stayng?" Liz asked.
"Yeah. Just wait." As if on cue, they both heard the car drive off. "Finally."
Liz ran over to Lucas and jumped into his arms, smashing her lips onto his.

"I can't believe you can still do that?" Lucas said as he brushed a piece of hair out of Liz's face.
"I try."
Liz was laid on Lucas' chest just hearing his heart beat. It had been a whole year since the last time they were together. Of course, no one knows about their relationship but it was fun like this.
"Good because I was starting to think that you forgot about 'us'?" Liz looked up into Lucas' eyes.
"Now why would I do that?" Liz asked a little nervous. Did Haley tell him about Max?
"Well, because of your ex." Damn it, Liz thought. "Haley told me that you thought that he was your soul mate."
Liz put her head back on Lucas' chest and started making circles around his nipple.
"I did but then his ex came into town and me and him just sort of fell apart. Then I fell apart." Lucas took Liz by her chin and gave her a soft kiss on her lips.
"Well, I'm here for you and I'll always be here for you."

"So Liz is happy, right?" Max asked as he and Maria walked to Michael's apartment.
"I guess but I really don't know." Maria said sounding depressed.
"What do you mean?" Max stopped and looked at Maria. "Are you okay?"
"No. Liz still hasn't called me. I think she's still mad at me for siding with you."
"But you had a reason. She slept with Kyle."
"Yeah she did but I'm still her best friend. Well, I was. And as a best friend, I should always be on her side but I wasn't and I still don't know why?"
"Maria, I'm not-."
"No you're not Max. You don't know what I mean but Liz would. God, even Kyle would and I hardly talk to him."
"Then tell me."
"I think the reason I turned my back on my best friend was because I thought that I was going to lose Michael. And that's never happened before. Liz has never put a guy over me and I've never done it to her. Until now."

The next day, Liz started doing her 'house' cleaning. The place was crazy. Dust everywhere, white sheets on everything. It was starting to look like someone had died in here.
"Hello!" Liz turned to see a grown man with brown hair walk over to her. "Are you Elizabeth Parker?"
"Yes. And you are?" Just then Lucas walked out of the back room.
"Hey Liz, where do you want-? Dan?"
"Dan, what the hell are you doing here?" Lucas demanded, forgetting about what he was wearing.
"I think the better question is what are you wearing?" Lucas looked down at himself. He was still in the towel from taking a bath. "Or how about, does your mother know where you are?" Lucas looked back at Dan. "Ah, she doesn't. So the plot thickens."
"I'm sorry. I have no clue who you are or why you're here but if you don't get the fuck out of my house now, I'll call the police." Liz said moving in front of him. "There's the door." She said in a sweet voice. "So get the fuck out!"
"Such a pretty vocabulary this one has, doesn't she?" Dan turned to Lucas. "Got a wild one on your hands. Just like mom?"
Before Lucas could say anything, Dan was gone. Liz rolled her eyes and then put her hands on her hips as she turned to Lucas.
"And who the hell was that?"
"My dad."

"Liz just called and said that she's almost finished with her house. Said there were white sheets and dust every where." Alex told Kyle as they ate in a booth near the window.
"Really? I thought she said that she was going to clean it 2 days ago?" Kyle said as he shoved his burger into his mouth.
"She did but I guess it's that dirty." Just then the pod squad walked in. "Great."
"What?" Kyle asked taking another huge bite out of his burger.
"The way you eat." Tess joked.
"Oh." Kyle turned to the group and tried to smile.
"Yeah so, have any of you heard from Maria or Liz?" Max asked.
"Liz yeah, Maria no but I did bump into her mom. Maria is visiting someone in Santa Fe." Alex lied.
He had talked to Maria not but 20 minutes ago. She was disgusted with herself and when she told her mom, Amy freaked. So right now, Maria and her mom are on their way to an all expenses paid trip to a spa to relax in Las Cruez. The thing was Maria didn't want any of the aliens to know.
"Really?" Michael questioned.
"Really." Alex shook his head. "So, what brings you guys here? To our table? When there are clearly other tables?"
"Just wanted to say hi and see how everything was." Max spoke. He was trying to keep sane, Alex thought. Good!
"Everything is fine. So ya'll can just up and scedattle." Kyle joked.
"So very...RUDE of you." Tess snapped.
"Sorry sweet cheeks." Kyle took another bite of his burger finishing it off. "When you mess with one of my friends, I mess with you."
"Was that a threat?" Michael demanded.
"Did it sound like a threat?"
"Yeah it did."
"Then I guess it was one. What are you going to do about it spaceboy? Hit me." Kyle scoffed. "Buddha teaches-."
"I don't care what a bald fat man teaches, if you threaten her again I'll-."
"Michael, don't." Isabel snapped. Michael backed up.
"Ahh. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side. Won't Liz want to hear about this." Alex shook his head trying not to laugh.
"Well, I have band practice. See you tonight Kyle."
"At 8, right?"
"Right." Alex stood up. "And I guess I'll see you guys whenever." As Alex left, Max took this as his opening. Even through he was pissed at Kyle he still needed answers.
"So, Kyle. What's at 8 o'clock?" Again, Kyle scoffed.
"Like I'mma tell you." Kyle wiped his mouth. Then turned sincere. "Look, Liz is happy, so stop trying to get her to talk to you. You're the reason she left and you'll be the reason she stays away. My advise is to just stay away. Let her live. Let her be happy. Isn't it what she deserves?" Then Kyle was gone.
"I made her leave?" Max asked himself.
"No, she made herself leave. You didn't make her do what she did. Liz slept with Kyle because LIZ wanted to." Tess said as she rubbed Max's back.
"Liz slept with Kyle?" Michael asked sceptical.
"Yeah. Max caught them."
"Holy crap, you did?"
"No, I caught them in bed together. They must have just finished because they were both naked from what I saw."
"What did you see?" Max dropped his head into his hands while Isabel slapped the back of Michael's head.
"Hey what was that for?"
"Max, you don't have to tell us what you saw. Only that you're really and truly sure that you saw them together?"
"That's the thing. I don't know and Liz won't talk to me so that I can find out."
"Guess we see what's happening at 8 o'clock?" Isabel said with a smile. Then they walked out of the cafe, forgetting about Tess.

Chapter 5
Liz felt her whole body relax as she soaked in her bath tub. Haley had called not to long ago and told Liz that she didn't want her to sit in all day and pout, so she was coming over to hang out and then they were going to go to a party that Nathan had found. Liz smiled. It's fun to be single but have someone to go to when she needed it. Slowly, Liz pulled the bubbles to her.
Suddenly, the phone rang, maaking Liz jump.
"When did I become such a chicken?" She asked herself as she reached for the phone. "Hello?"
"Is this Elizabeth Parker?" A deep voice asked.
"Who may I ask is calling?" Liz held the phone between her shoulder blade and her ear as she ran water over her arms.
"This is Keith Scott, Lucas' uncle." Liz jumped to attention.
"Is there anything wrong with him?"
"Just that he isn't home." Liz relaxed. "Is he there?"
"Um, actually he was here but he was helping me move in. You see, I moved into my grandmother's beach house and well, since I knew Lucas from back when, he lent me his assisants."
"So this IS Elizabeth Parker?" Liz giggled.
"Yeah it is but ou can call me Liz. Everyone else does."
"Okay Liz. Can you tell me when it was that Lucas left you?" Liz thought about it.
She had been in the tub for a good 20 minutes and was just about done. Lucas had left maybe 10 minutes before she even thought about taking a bath.
"He, um, I think he left maybe 20 to 30 minutes ago."
"Thank you. That must mean-." Liz heard a door open on the other side of the phone. Then she heard Lucas' voice and she let out the breath that she didn't even know that she had held. "Oh Liz. Lucas just walked through the door. Thank you again." Then the line went dead.
Liz shrugged her shoulders and put the back where it had been. Then she pulled out the plug and got out of the bathtub with her pink towel wrapped around her body. Tonight was going to be a night of total happiness.

Michael and Isabel sat alone in Michael's apartment with nothing else to do other than stare at each other. There was nothing to do now that Liz and Maria were gone and Alex and Kyle were ignoring them.
"Do you get the feeling that we're suddenly very alone?" Michael asked Isabel out of no where. Isabel looked at Michael.
"Yeah." She finally said bitting her lip. She wanted so much to just run and find Alex. For some reason she just needed him and all it took was for him to ignore her.
"Do you really think that Liz and Kyle slept together?" Michael questioned while looking at the floor.
It had been on his mind for so long. Why would Liz sleep with Kyle after everything she and Max had been through? And why write all those things in her journal about Max when all she wanted was a quick fuck? She could have gotten that from anyone. Why Kyle?
"I don't-" Isabel knew that Liz couldn't sleep with anyone let alone Kyle. She was so obviously in love with Max that it was sicking sometimes. "No. I don't think she would."
"Then do you think she staged it?"
"Maybe but why Michael? Why try and ruin everything she had with Max? And how did she know that he was going to be there that night? What was he doing there so late at night?" Isabel saw Michael smirk. "You know don't you?" Michael looked at Isabel like she was crazy. "Tell me!!"
"Max went to Liz's house to um, you know." Isabel felt her whole body go pale.
"No he didn't."
"Yeah he did."
"No he didn't."
"Iz, he did. That night, Max came over here and told me what he was planning on doing."
"So it wasn't just an impulse thing. He planned on doing it!"
"Yeah." Michael said with a chuckle.
"God I hate him so much right now." Isabel ran her fingers through her hair. "Wait. If only you and Max knew what he was going to do that night, how did Liz know to stage her sleeping with Kyle?"
"That's the thing. I don't know. Maybe someone over heard us or maybe she really did sleep with him." Michael folded his hands in front of him.
There was so much that Isabel needed to know. So much they all needed to know. Did Liz know or did she just do Kyle? Is there something she's hidding? Have they been at it for a long time or was it a spurr of the moment type of thing? What? Before Isabel could say anything, the phone rang. Michael was the one to reach for it.
"Huh...Yeah, she's here....Okay.....OKay...Fine. Bye." Then he hung up. "That was Max. He and Tess may have something."

"God I hate him so much right now." Isabel ran her fingers through her hair. "Wait. If only you and Max knew what he was going to do that night, how did Liz know to stage her sleeping with Kyle?"
"That's the thing. I don't know. Maybe someone over heard us or maybe she really did sleep with him." Michael folded his hands in front of him.
There was so much that Isabel needed to know. So much they all needed to know. Did Liz know or did she just do Kyle? Is there something she's hidding? Have they been at it for a long time or was it a spurr of the moment type of thing? What? Before Isabel could say anything, the phone rang. Michael was the one to reach for it.
"Huh...Yeah, she's here....Okay.....OKay...Fine. Bye." Then he hung up. "That was Max. He and Tess may have something."

Chapter 6
Alex was surprised to get a phone call from Max and he was even more surprised when Maria walked into his room.
"What are you doing here?" He asked her, giving her a hug.
"Just got back when Max called me and told me that there was a meeting that we all had to go to. Just wanted to know if 1) you got the call and 2) if you're going to go?"
"I don't know. I gotta ask Kyle." Alex said as he ran his hand through his hair.
"No problem." Maria put her hands into her pockets and rocked back and forth on her heels.
"What is it?"
"What?" Maria asked, shyly.
"You have that look."
"What look?"
"That look that says you wanna ask me something, so just ask." Maria tried not to smile but failed.
"How do you know me so well?"
"I just do. Now ask."
"Okay." Her smile disappeared. "Did Liz and Kyle really sleep with each other?"
Silence. Alex was shocked. He knew that someday, they would all want to know the truth but for some reason hearing Maria ask him that, it made him feel weird.
"I don't......I can't tell you." Alex said looking at everything but Maria.
"Why not?" Maria whined.
"Because it's their secret and-."
"And you think I'm going to tell the others. I get it." Maria walked out of Alex's room, leaving him alone.

Tess walked into the living room and saw Kyle sitting on the couch.
"Why aren't you ready?" She snapped, making him jump.
"Tess? What the hell are you yelling about?" He asked turning to her.
"Why aren't you dressed?"
"Because I don't have to be anywhere until 8. Why are your panties in a total bunch?"
"You are suppose to be going to the meeting!" She yelled.
"Oh yeah. About that, I think I'll pass." Kyle said as he popped a piece of what ever he was eatting into his mouth.
"Wha-why?" Tess stammered.
"Because I don't want to go and no one really wants me there since Liz and I slept together."
"So you did sleep with Liz?" Kyle said nothing. "Kyle, I hate to say this but what you did was stupid. Max is pissed. He saw you guys and now he hates you. And if you don't come to this meeting, it'll just piss him off some more."
"Yeah, sure, what ever. I'm not going okay. And as for Max, fuck him. I never like him anyway. So if he wants to tango, then let's go." Kyle snapped.
"But he's your King!" Tess almost yelled.
"No." Kyle corrected. "He's your king, not mine. And if you're late, I'm sure King Ass will flip out." Kyle turned back to the TV, silently telling Tess that this was over.
"Fine!" She said, slamming her heel into the ground. "Do what you want? As if I care!"
Tess turned on her heel and made her way to the door but stopped at Kyle's last words.
"Like I care what you guys think." He said with a laugh. "So classic."
And in a huff, she was gone.

"Oh really. What is she then, Luke? Cause until today, I never even heard of her."
Lucas looked at the floor. He never told Keith about Liz cause they had made a pack never to tell anyone. Not even Haley. But was Lucas really about to lie to Keith.
"I'm waiting." Keith pushed.
"Keith, Liz is....." Lucas looked to Keith. "She's kind of like a girlfriend."

The whole reason she picked Tree Hill was because she could be anyone she wanted because no one really knew her. "If I really slept with Kyle and the answer is not your concern, so bye. I gotta get ready for my new life." And she hung up feeling like crap. Now that she was gone, they did have the right to know but she didn't want to tell them. Maybe when she called Alex and Kyle at 8, she'd tell them to tell the others. Maybe.

Chapter 7
"What do you mean she's kind of your girlfriend? She either is or isn't." Keith snapped.
Lucas didn't know what to say. Yeah he and Liz slept with each other but that was it. That was all she wanted from him. She had even said it before he left her apartment this afternoon.
"Well it's complicated."
"How, Luke? How is it complicated?"
"WEll, we don't date we just...." Lucas looked to Keith to think of the rest.
"Oh." Keith shook his head. "Your mom is so gonna kill me for this but Luke, you and I need to have a talk."

Liz stared at herself in the mirror and couldn't help but feeling like she was looking at a stranger. Her long hair and decent clothes made her think about Max and how much he loved her. He had said that she was his soulmate and maybe he was right but then again, he didn't even know her. All he knew was what he wanted and that was alittle more than she could take.
Slowly, Liz looked to Haley.
"Are you sure Liz?"
"Yeah Haley. I want to change and this is the only way I can without completely changing who I am." Liz said looking at her old best friend in the mirror.
"Okay then." Slowly Haley picked up the scissors and began cutting away at Liz's hair. Piece after piece fell to the floor as Haley cut. When she was done, Liz looked shocked.
"Oh my god!"
"I'm sorry I was nervous. I'm so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so very sorry." Haley rambled on.
"No, no Haley, it's fine. It looks great. You did an amazing job." Liz said stopping Haley. Then she looked back at her reflection and smiled. "No to my clothes."
Haley smiled as they went to Liz's closet. There they did the only change.

"So what do you think?" Haley asked Nathan as she and Liz walked out of Liz's car.
"Unbelievable. Are you sure you're my girlfriend?" Nathan said kissing Haley on her forhead. "You look good to Liz."
"Thanks Nate. But lets go party."

Chapter 8
Liz's phone rang and rang until she finally got up out of bed to get it. She had been trying to get some rest in after that wild party last night. She didn't really drink with Haley and Nathan but she did dance and have a good time. Something she was sure would never happen in Roswell. Liz smiled to herself. She did alot of things that she wouldn't do back at home.
"Hello?" Liz answered her phone almost too chipper for it to be 10:30 in the morning.
"Hello to you too, Elizabeth." Kyle answered.
"Kyle?"
"Yeah. And Alex is here too. What happened to you last night?" Liz thought for a minute and then it hit her. She was suppose to call them but totally forgot because of the party.
"I am so sorry. It's just I kind of went to a party last night and just now woke up."
"Woah, woah, woah. You went to a party last night and actually had some real teenage fun?" Kyle questioned and she was sure that she heard Alex's mouth drop in the backround.
"YES. Contrary to popular belief, I DO like to have fun."
"No you don't." Kyle said. "Or you didn't when you were here. All you ever did was work, work, work. I think Tree Hill is really good for you."
"Ha ha, very funny, Kyle but for real. I think you're right. I mean there's no 'aliens among us' here or crazy ex's trying to run my life. Here I'm free to do what I please. And I think I like it."
"Nice to hear."
"So what's up?" Liz asked moving onto things other than herself. She wanted all her changes to be a surprise and that would only happen if they moved on to other things.
"Nothing really.. Everything's the same. You know, 'Max trying to run our lives and being mad at me for 'sleeping' wit you'." All 3 friends burst out laughing not knowing that someone was listening in on them with very untrustworthy ears.

"So you ready for school, girly?" Haley asked Liz and she and Nathan watched Liz walk to their car.
"As ready as I'll ever be."
"Come on. It can't be that bad."

"I can't believe she still won't call." Max yelled as he stormed into his room.
It had been almost 2 weeks since the last time he saw Liz and it was pissing him off. Yea they left things off badly and yeah he was a total ass to her but come on. She slept with Kyle not him. But it was him who told the whole school. And then it was him who made Liz cry when all she wanted to do was help.
"Damn it." Max slammed his fist threw his wall.
"Never thought you had the power." Tess said as she climbed into his room. "Or the balls for that matter. I mean really. Liz sleeps with Kyle then leaves. Kyle and Alex alienate us and then Alex leaves without telling us to go to Sweden."
"Your point?!" Max snaps as he heals his hand.
"My point is this anger is well over due. It's about time."
"Well thanks to your recon, at least we know the truth." Max dropped to his bed and covered his face with his hands.
"Look. I didn't come here to fight or argue." Tess said sincerely.
"Then what did you come here for?"
"To tell you that when Alex comes back from Sweden, then Liz'll come back for winter break. I heard her and Kyle talking about it and it's a month but maybe-."
"She'll come to her senses and stay here."
"Max, I didn't-." But Tess' words went unheard of because Max was already formulating his plans to get Liz to stay.

"So Liz, what are you going to do for Christmas break?" Karen asked as she wiped down the counter.
Ever since Haley introduced them, both Karen and Liz have been inseperable. Liz helps out whenever she can with both the cafe and at Tric while Karen tells Liz about Lucas and Haley before she met them.
"Well, I was thinking about going home. I mean I miss my friends and family but-." Liz turned her head.
"But?" Karen pushed.
"But my ex is there and I just know that he is going to try and get me to stay. Karen, I can't stay there alone. Not without friends and help. Max'll eat me up."
"What about Kyle and Alex?"
"We only survived before because we kept on hiding from them. The last day I was there, we actually went out of our way not to see them and we didn't." Karen giggled.
"But Roswell is a small town from what I've heard. How did you do that?" Liz smiled.
"We just lied about where we were going to be and then just sort of lucked out by sleeping in a closed off park." Karen suddenly burst out laughing just as Nathan and Lucas walked in.
"What's so funny?" Lucas asked, giving his mom a quick kiss on the cheek and winking at Liz. Nathan noticed it and was diffinitly going to bring it up next time.
"Nothing just something Liz said." Then Karen stopped. "Hey, I just thought of a great idea."
"To what?" Nathan asked.
"To Liz's little problem?"
"What problem?" Lucas asked.
"Um, I wanna go home for Christmas but my ex'll be there and I don't want to deal with him." Liz answered him.
"Okay. Mom?"
"Well, why don't Nathan, Haley and Lucas go with you?" Both Liz and Lucas choked on whatever they put in their mouths. "I mean, it'll be good cause the boys'll get Max to back off and plus they'll actually get to see the Alien capital of the world. How bout that?" Karen told them not know what the hell was actually going on.
"Sure.....That's..........a great idea, Karen." Liz turned to Nathan and Lucas. "If that's alright with you guys?"
"No problem. Haley'll love it to." Nathan smiled. "Well I gotta get going. Bye guys." Then he was gone.

She and Lucas had been speading more and more time together and she really liked him. She could even see them dating. There was only one thing. Well, two things. Brooke and Peyton. She had become good friends with them through Haley and she didn't want to lose that just because she might be falling for Luke.
"Yea sure." Lucas smiled and Liz felt her walls fall down. He was doing something to her and she didn't know what but she liked it. "So when do we leave?"

They had gone to the beach to have bf time and were walking along the sand when Brooke noticed Liz. Yeah it was totally normal since Liz lived near the beach but what got her was Luca. He was chasing Liz into her house and when he caught her, they kissed.
"What is weird?" Peyton asked.
"Oh my god."
"What? What?" Peyton looked at Brooke but saw that she was staring into someone's house. "You know this is against the law?"
"Only when it's someone you don't know but I know that back-stabbing bitch." Brooke said pointing to the house. Peyton followed Brooke's finger and saw something she's never think she'd see. Liz and Lucas were practically swallowing each other whole.
"What the hell?"
"No more like: 'what the fuck?' I thought that she was our friend and that she hated Lucas Scott like we did?"
"I guess....not." Peyton said, still shocked at what she was watching.
"You guess? Peyton, snap out of it. That is it. We are ssssoooooo cutting her out of our lives."

Liz lay peacefully on top of Lucas' chest just listenning to his heart beat. It was so hypnotizing. She could fall to sleep to it every night. That is, if Karen would let him say with her everynight. No one knew about them yet but maybe someday.
"Liz?" Lucas whispered as he tried not to stir her if she was asleep.
"Yeah?"
"Do you wanna go out?"
"Like go out where?"
"Like on a real date?" Liz pushed up on her elbow and looked into Lucas' green eyes.
"Are you, Lucas Scott, asking me out on a real date?" She joked.
"Actually I am. I mean this is cool what we're doing but I kind of want more." Liz's eyeborws rose. "What I mean is-."
"I know what you mean Luke."
"Then why give me that look?"

"That look like I was crazy?"
"Becaue I was just thinking that maybe we should start dating instead of sneaking around. I just feel so weird acting like your scum when your not."
"Oh thanks." Lucas said rubbing his eyes.
"Well you know what I mean. Brooke and Peyton really don't like you right now."
"But if you start going out with me then they'll turn on you?" Lucas said, sitting up.
"Well I guess then, I'll know who my real friends are."
"I guess you're right then." Lucas tucked a piece of hair behind Liz's ear.

"Oh my god. So you and Lucas are going on a date?" Haley screeched.
"Yeah." Liz smiled.
She had told Haley first because she knew that she would totally be on her side. Then Haley would tell Nathan while Liz told Karen. After that it was pretty much down hill. Liz would eventually have to tell Brooke and Peyton and lose the friendships that she kind of liked having but then again, she had Lucas first so....
"Tell me everything. Where are you going? When he asked you out? How? Why? Everything and don't leave anything out because I don't hold out on you."
"Really?" Liz asked jokingly. "Because sometimes I feel like you just don't tell me EVERYTHING."
"Liz. Of course I tell you everything. I told you about me and Nathan sleeping together and when and where and how it was."
"Oh yeah. I remember that." Liz said trying not to laugh. Haley had went into some major details including how big Nathan was. It was actually really funny and now whenever Liz sees him, she can't help but laugh.
"Then dish girl."
"'Then dish girl.' You've been spending ALOT of time with Brooke haven't you?" Liz asked and both girls burst out laughing.

"3 weeks to go." Max whispered as he dropped his head onto the table.
"Please make him stop." Maria said as she dropped into the seat next to him.
The four aliens and her had all come to the cafe to just hang out and get Max out of his house but nothing. All he did was pine all day and now he was doing it again. Last week when Alex came back, all Max could say was '4 weeks to go'.
"Been trying but nothing is working." Michael said looking at everything but Maria.
Lately she had been hang out more and more with Kyle and Alex and he barely saw her and when he did, they usually started fighting. That was not something he wanted to do today.
"Well, I guess 'hanging out' is out of the question. So if you don't mind. I promised Alex that I'd be at his place when you-know-who call. Bye."
And she was gone. Isabel rolled her eyes. This was suppose to be some of the best day of her life since she found out that she could graduate early but instead, she was baby sitting her whiner brother and pinning over Alex who came back to Roswell looking like a million bucks. He even acted like it. Something happened when he was in Sweden and it changed him for the better.

"Pinning again?" Alex asked when Maria walked into his room with a pissed off look on her face.
"Yeah. He won't stop." She snapped. "4 weeks to go. 3 weeks to go, 2 weeks to go'. When is he going to learn that Liz has probably got someone knew by now." Alex only smiled. "Well, does she?"
"She does. She just texted me and she says that they have already gone all the way."
"What? I thought we were going to tell each other when that happened?"
"I guess it happened before you and her had that long talk a few weeks ago. Everything is still fresh now. Still new between you and her as friends and her and Lucas as boyfriend and girlfriend."

"I so gotta meet him."
"You will. She said something about bringing him and a few friends down here for Christmas."
"Bet Nancy has already gotten all of them gifts." Kyle said as he walked into the room.
"Yep she does." Alex smiled but then his smile disappeared. "Look, the reason I asked you guys here is because Liz wants an alien free holiday."
"And how are we to do that?" Maria asked.
"Simple." Alex turned to his computer and started typing.
"Oh this has got to be good if he has it on his computer." Kyle joked standing up to look at the screen. "Woah, that is good."
"I know."

"You're taking me to Tric?" Liz asked Lucas as they walked up the stairs. "The place where I work? The place where-." But she couldn't continue because all of Tric was empty except for Ruth, the bartender. "What the?"
"I asked Mom and she talked to Deb. They both thought it was romantic to bring you here, so they close up for the night."
"So," Liz looked at Lucas. "We have all of Tric to ourselves?"
"Yeah, just you, me and," Then Lucas clapped his hands and Sheryll Crow's 'I shall believe came on. "Sheryll."
"How did you know?" Liz asked almost in tears.
"Because it's my job." Liz gave him a look. "Okay, so Haley told me but at least I got you these all on my own." He pulled out a dozen white roses and handed them to her.
"Well, Luke. I think you just got more brownie points then anyone has ever gotten from me."
"I serve to please."
"Good to know." Liz said pulling him by the collar.
