Ok enough about me on to the story. I changed the title didn't like the other one and as I was working on this story, this title just seemed to fit for me. So here it is "To Be or Not to Be...A Princess"
It is rated Teen/mature
It is about Max and Liz as well as the other couples but it does not follow the show at all. It is my own little story using the Roswell characters.
I do not own or have any rights to Roswell or its show.
The following banner was created by Jules memeber name c_which and it is just awesome, great work worthy of praise;-)

Prologue
Elizabeth sat on her front porch eating a ham and cheese sandwich watching the tide roll in, when suddenly she heard someone crying out for help. Being a kind hearted little girl she dropped her sandwich and without thought ran off into the direction she had heard the pleas coming from. As she ran down towards the water and around the cliff’s edge the screams grew louder.
“Help! Help! Please help me!” A young boy cried out. Elizabeth climbed up over the rocks and splashed through the waves as they rolled in one after another. She knew this cove well, the rocks were slippery and the sand had a way of sinking right beneath your feet.
“Are you alright?” She called out to the boy.
“No, my foot has slipped under a rock and I can’t free it, please get help.” He called his voice filled with panic.
“There’s no time for that, this whole cove will be filled with sea water in just a few minutes, its high tide.” Liz called out to him.
“I’m going to drown. My mother and father will be so upset with me.” He cried.
Elizabeth finally reached him, “You’re not going to drown silly. I am going to rescue you.”
“You can’t rescue me, you’re a girl. Girls don’t rescue boys; boys rescue a girl, that’s the way it is supposed to work.” He told her as the waves crashed around them.
“Well its either me or else you’re going to drown, because as you can see the water level is rising.” Elizabeth warned him as she pointed down to the water.
“Ok, Ok what are we going to do, I can’t get my foot out. I have tried pulling and it only sinks deeper.” He told her.
“I am going to dig the sand away from the sides of the rock while you pull up on it really hard ok.” Elizabeth told him. The boy shook his head in agreement and pulled with all his strength as she dug the sand free from the sides of the rock. After a few moments he could feel the rock give and his foot was free. Elizabeth looked out towards the sea and knew that they only had a few minutes left as the waves were now coming in faster. “Can you walk on your ankle she asked as she examined it?” He had several small cuts and scrapes.
“I think so, you lead the way.” He told her.
Elizabeth grabbed his hand and pulled him along behind her as she guided them both through the now knee deep ocean water around the large cliff and out of the cove. The two small children hurried up the beach and out of the waters reach as hide tide came rushing in. Breathing heavily the boy looked into her eyes, “Thank you for helping me back there, you saved my life.”
Elizabeth smiled at him, “My name is Elizabeth, what’s yours?”
“Max.” He said simply.
“Do you live around here, I haven’t seen you before?” She asked.
“No, I was um, just visiting with my family and well, I kind of slipped off by myself.” He explained.
They were both startled by the sound of two neatly dressed men yelling out his name and running down the beach towards them, “I have to go, thanks again.” He yelled as he started to leave. Elizabeth was just about to say good bye when the boy stopped ran back over to her and pulled her towards him and into a sweet little kiss. “You have the most beautiful brown eyes and I shall never forget you.” Elizabeth smiled and gently brushed her lips, she had received her first kiss. She watched as he ran off into the direction of the two men who seemed most eager to find him.
Seventeen years later...
Elizabeth sat staring out her bedroom window as the sun sat low in the evening sky. She loved this time of day; it was always so peaceful and quite. She could hear the ocean waves as high tide came in. The wind was blowing gently and the saltiness of the sea filled the air. So much had happened over the last few days that she hardly had time to think. Mr. Thompson had come by earlier in the week to speak with her concerning some very important events. She sat and listened in shock and amazement as he told her that Queen Dana and King William would come to Rosewood by weeks end to see her.
“Why would the royal couple ever want to come here to meet with me?” She asked not at all trying to hide the shock in her voice.
“Well, I am sure you had read about the passing of there daughter-in-law, Ava.” Mr. Thompson asked.
Liz shook her head, remembering the photo of the prince at the memorial service. “She was killed in a car crash last year wasn’t she?”
“It was a little over a year ago now, actually. Prince Maxwell took it very hard; the whole royal family was in shock for quite some time. Prince Maxwell had known Princess Ava for a short time before they were wed and he was deeply in love with her. The law of Satadority states that at the end of one year, his time of morning must come to and end. Prince Maxwell must take a new wife if he wants to remain eligible to be the heir to his father’s throne, so this past January the search began to find him a suitable wife. He has spent time with several young ladies but nothing has worked out thus far. The king has suggested that perhaps an arranged marriage may just be the best thing considering the situation, and he has received Prince Maxwell’s permission to find him a suitable wife.” Mr. Thompson explained.
“Wow, I don’t know what to say, that must be totally awful. I mean having to get married to someone so soon after loosing the only person you have ever loved, and they didn’t really have that much time together did they?” Liz asked.
“No not really, they had only been married one year when the accident happened.” He told her as he shook his head.
He must trust his father’s judgment completely to let him decide who he is going to marry.” Liz said as she shifted uncomfortably in her seat.
“Yes, it is a very difficult situation, but the Prince does trust his father and he knows that as the only male heir it is his duty to take a wife and supply the throne with an heir of his own, or to abdicate and allow his younger sister Isabella to rule. Prince Maxwell does take this very seriously; he has been studying his entire life to follow in his father’s footsteps and to one day rule over Satadority.” He explained.
“That is a lot to carry, but what does all this have to do with me?” Liz asked as she stood up and walked over to the window.
“Well, King William feels that an arranged marriage is the best answer to this very difficult situation. He wants to find someone who is not of a royal heritage but rather someone who would not expect too much right away concerning her marriage to Prince Maxwell. Many of the young women of title would expect a large wedding with parties and public appearances instead of giving the Prince some time to settle in to being married again.” Mr. Thompson went on.
“I see, so the King figured if the Prince married a commoner then the press and all of the society trappings might be able to be avoided. I still don’t see what any of this has to do with me. How do you know all of this anyway, are you friends with the royal family?” Liz asked him as she sat back down in her chair.
“Yes, my dear I am. I taught for many years at Willington, King William study there in his youth and he and I grew very close. I only returned here to Rosewood after my retirement but his majesty still keeps in close touch with me. I was a little shocked when on our last visit he mentioned that Prince Maxwell had left the matter of finding a new bride to him. After much prayer and reflection I agreed to help them with this endeavor.” He explained.
“Oh I had no idea that you knew the royal family.” Liz stated not at all trying to hide her surprise. “Even still what does any of this have to do with me?” She asked feeling very apprehensive about the answer.
“Well the truth is Elizabeth I was thinking you might be the perfect girl for the Prince. As soon as the King told me his plan I thought of you. I have always held you and your family in high regard and I really do think that you are the one to marry the Prince.” Mr. Thompson told her. Liz didn’t know what to say, she didn’t know what to even think, so many questions where racing through her mind.
“I am flattered, really I am, but you can’t be serious about this. I mean an arranged marriage that sort of thing has not been going on since the middle ages.” Liz told him as she stood and walked back over to the window.
Mr. Thompson walked over to her, “I know this is all rather strange, but the truth is you really are the perfect choice to be the next princess of Satadority. You are a level headed, intelligent, caring, beautiful young woman who loves the people around her, you should be the princess. Besides the Prince is only a year or so older then you and he is very handsome, you might find yourself attracted to him given time.”
“I don’t know what to say, have you spoken with Mamma or Papa about this?” She asked still trying to take it all in.
“Yes I have and they feel that it is your decision, this is a choice that you must make. Listen to me Elizabeth I have known you for a good number of years now and I know that you have a good heart and good character, I love the royal family and I don’t want just anyone to marry the Prince. I don’t want them to end up with a situation that causes them pain or embarrassment. So many young women today are caught up in the fame, money, or the title, I do not believe this would be a problem for you; you’re so down to earth. Please just at least meet with the King and Queen and listen to what they have to say before you make up your mind. I know I am asking a lot of you but there are times in ones life when destiny finds you weather your ready for it or not.” He told her in a gentle kind voice.
Elizabeth had known Mr. Thompson for many years as not only a teacher, but as a dear family friend. He frequented her mother’s restaurant almost daily for the last 11 years so they had spent many afternoons chatting, she knew he would never have suggested her as a candidate unless he seriously thought it was what was best for her. “Alright, I will meet with them but other then that I can not promise you anything else other then I will listen.”
“Fair enough my girl fair enough. You head on home and I will set up the meeting for later this week alright.” He told her as he helped her on with her coat and sent her on her way.
Elizabeth was startled suddenly by her mother’s voice calling to her, “Elizabeth, they have arrived, come down as soon as you’re ready.”
“I will be right down Mamma.” She called as she took one last glance into the mirror. She was wearing a light blue dress with a simple white button up sweater over the top. She had decided to wear her hair down. “Well like or not here I come.” She mumbled to herself before heading down stairs to greet there guest.
The King and Queen had just settled in the living room when Liz walked in. “Oh here she is, Your Highness, this is our daughter, Elizabeth.” Jeffery Parker introduced her. The king notice the young girls beauty right away, she was average height about 5’7 and very slim somewhat petite really. She had straight long dark brown hair that framed her face beautifully. But what was most noticeable where here large dark brown eyes. His old friend was right she was a very beautiful girl, “Well it is so nice to finally meet with you all. Elizabeth, Charles told us so much about you and he is right you are very beautiful.”
Liz sat down and smiled, “Thank you, your majesty; it is so sweet of you to say.”
The Queen smiled, “Please call me Dana and my husband William, we don’t bother with all the formality unless we are in public.” She explained.
“Well then please call me Liz, all my friends and family do.” Liz offered.
After all the small talk ended the Queen looked at Liz, “Well to the business at hand, Charles I am sure told you in length why we are here so lets just start off with any questions you might have?”
Liz looked at the Queen and thought how hard this must be for them, “Ok, I guess my only real question is what is expected of me? Mr. Thompson, I mean Charles, explained in length that the Prince must remarry and why none of the lady’s of title seemed to work but not really what I should expect from this marriage. Is it to be a marriage in name only for connivance so that Prince Maxwell can inherit the throne or is it to be more?”
The King laughed, “Charles was right you are very direct.”
“Oh I am sorry I did not mean to seem forward but I do need to understand what is exactly being asked of me.” Liz told them trying not to blush too much.
“Don’t you worry about it at all my dear, I think it is very refreshing and I do understand completely why your asking after all this is your life we are discussing here too. But to answer your question, in the beginning it will be a marriage in name only for a time I am sure, but we hope that in time you and Maxwell will find some common ground and it will become more. I do not want you to misunderstand the Prince is still very much in love with his first wife but he does know that it is his duty to marry and to produce an heir for the throne it is our custom and the law of our country.” The King explained in detail.
“I see.” Liz answered simply.
“Liz, we have heard a great deal about you, and of course there where background checks done quietly but now after having met you I do think that Charles was right you are the perfect choice. I do not pretend to be naïve I do not think that things will be easy being married to a stranger but in time I do think that you and Maxwell will be a good fit. His loss was great, he and Ava were very much in love as well as being friends but time can heal all wounds if given the right kind of care and understanding.” The Queen spoke in a soft voice revealing in some degree how much she was hurting for her only son.
Liz smiled and shook her head. “I understand, can I have a little time to think this through, to make this decision. I know time is important as Charles explained, but just a few days to really hash this out in my heart if that is ok?”
“Absolutely my dear, when you are ready to deicide Charles will know how to reach us. We will keep this all quite for now as it will make it easier on you if the press does not know.” The king offered. Liz smiled obvious relief washing over her features. The King and Queen chatted on for awhile longer learning more about Liz, her schooling, and family and so on. Liz did ask a few more questions concerning where she would live and what if any responsibilities she would have as Satadoritys next princess. The King and Queen were very gracious and shared with her in great detail where she would live, just what exactly would be her duties. The afternoon wore on into the evening before everyone said there goodbyes. Liz waited until after the royal couple had gone before she headed up stairs to change into her jeans and sweat shirt, she needed to go for a walk. She looked out the window seeing that a storm had moved in she reached for her rain boots, and raincoat then headed down stairs. “I’ll be back in a bit mama.”
“Liz your not going out now are you it’s raining?” Her mother called out after her but she had already gone.
“Just let her go, you know she always walks when she needs to hash something out.” Jeffery scolded his wife.
“Yes I know but it is raining out and it is dark out there.” Nancy told her husband.
Jeffery walked over and wrapped his arms around his wife’s waist, “And you know full well that she would tell you that the rain only helps her think that much more clearly so don’t worry she will be fine, always has been, always will be.” Nancy Parker smiled and shook her head knowing that her husband was right; Liz always went for walks, long walks alone whenever something was troubling her, and if it were raining she seemed to enjoy the time all the more.
Liz walked along the dimly light beach enjoying the gentle rain as she walked. There were a million things going on inside her head. She had liked the King and Queen very much, even more then she thought she would. She could see that they loved their son and that this must be a hard situation for everyone involved. She almost felt like saying yes just because of their love and care for the Prince she thought to herself. Her mind shifted gears and she settled for a time on the Prince, he was handsome. He was tall, with a very athletic build; he had dark hair and beautiful green eyes. She really didn’t know to much more about him, she had read a few stories concerning his charity work but then they were always slanted towards the gossiping point of view so that really was not much help. She did understand that he was defiantly still deeply in love with his late wife and so not much would be expected of her right away so at least that much was good. What of romance she asked herself? She had many boyfriends off and on during school but she could honestly say that she never loved anyone of them not in any serious kind of way. There was only one boy that she ever thought she loved and it was really so silly, she didn’t even actually know him yet for some strange reason some part of her heart was longing for him. When she was only five she had shared her first kiss with a complete stranger, a skinny, little, dark hair boy with deep green eyes. He had been trapped in the rocks around Old Mans Cove and she had heard his cries for help and rescued him. She always imaged that some day she would meet him again and they would fall in love and marry. She shook her head, why she was thinking of that now she wasn’t sure. She hadn’t thought about that day in so many years. She needed to focus, maybe she was thinking about it because the truth is love and romance was something she had always wanted but some how had always seemed to pace her by. There were times she had thought that perhaps she just really wasn’t meant for love at all maybe destiny had other plans for her and they did not include true love or romantic interludes, so just maybe marrying the Prince; a complete stranger, was not so strange after all. Maybe it really was her destiny and she needed to accept that. Liz watched the waves come crashing to shore for awhile as the rain fell, she was soaking wet by the time she headed back to the house. She saw her mother pick out the back door as she headed up the walk, “Mama you should get to bed you have to open early in the morning, I am fine really I am.”
“I know you are, but I still had to wait up, it’s just a mother thing I guess.” She told her daughter as she walked into the kitchen and handed her a towel. “I made you some hot coco, take it up with you and get a warm shower and get out of those wet cloths before you get sick.”
“Thank you Mama. It’s so funny you always say that I will get sick and yet I never do.” Liz laughed as she wrapped the towel around her hair and headed up the stairs with her mom and her hot coco in hand.
Liz bid her mother good night and headed for the shower. She piled her wet things in the hamper and filled the tub with warm water, it felt so good to close her eyes and relax. Her mind was still weighing the pro’s and con’s to marrying the Prince as she climbed into bed. It would be so hard to be away from here to; I have lived in Rosewoods my entire life. Kensington is at least a 5 hour drive from here but still there would be many more responsibility, she would not be able to talk with her parents daily as she did now. The thought of not living on the ocean would be very difficult as well, that in and of itself was a very huge con for her. Liz felt it very difficult to sleep that night.
Ok so that is part one...hope you liked it.
See ya

Date06/11/05 "CHAPTER ONE CONTINUES"
First thanks to everyone who left a remark its great to hear from you. So I kind of goofed in my post I left a large part of this part o fthe story out by mistake so I am going to add it in here. I know I am a novice at this no laughing please;-)
nothing has changed rating is still Teen/Mature still about Max and Liz, still does not follow the show at all just useing the characters in my own little story. Finally I do not own anything to do with Roswell.
Ok here it is the rest of part 1
The King and Queen talked non stop on the ride to the airport and then on the flight back to Kensington about Liz. “She really is a wonderful girl William. I know that she would be perfect for Maxwell if only he will give this a chance.”
“He has said that he will, Dana, and he has never disappointed us before. I know that he still misses Ava very much but he also knows his duty and responsibility to the crown. Besides as you said she is wonderful, I don’t think he can help but fall in love with her they just need time.” William reminded his wife.
Queen Dana sat quietly the rest of the drive home, she was feeling very tired and had not eaten much of the dinner served on their short flight home. She had closed her eyes only once in the limo ride home but William had noticed, “Do go up and get some rest, I will speak with Maxwell and join you in a bit.” The Queen nodded her head in agreement knowing full well it would be easier for their son to speak to his father concerning this matter.
King William saw that his son’s office light was still on so he knocked and went in. “Working late tonight?”
Prince Maxwell smiled and stretched out his arms, “Yea, I have a number of meetings in the morning and like you I want to be ready for that labor party meeting on Friday.”
“You will do fine, you always do.” The king reassured him. The Prince knew that his father was not a night owl and he also knew that he had not come in to discuss work, “So how did the meeting go, was she as wonderful as Charles described her to be?”
“Truthfully, she was maybe even more so. I do think she is the one Max, so does your mother. She is very well spoken and not at all afraid to speak her mind, but not in a pushy way. She is very intelligent, caring, and sincere. If she agrees to this marriage and you are still of a mind to go through with it, I defiantly think she is the one.” King William told him.
The Prince felt somewhat uncomfortable, part of him had hoped that when they actually went to meet with this woman that they would see some glaring flaw but that was not the case. “Wow, all this from one meeting, she must make quite the first impression.” Max said a bit sarcastically.
The King did not miss the tone in his son’s voice, “Well she did Max, and she is a very kind hearted girl. Look Maxwell if this is all too much for you, if you have changed your mind about going through with this then we will forget the whole thing.”
“No father I am committed to this. IF she agrees I will take my responsibility very seriously.” Max said as he stood up from his desk and walked over to the bar for a soda.
“Max it is more than that, Elizabeth is a sweet girl and I don’t want to see her hurt or you either, if this is going to work at all you will have to find a way to make it work. And if you can not do that my boy then we should call it off now before it goes any further. You think about it and we will talk again Friday.” The King offered as he left his son and went to join his wife.
Max was just about to head upstairs and retire for the night when his sister came in, “So was that father I just saw head for the south wing?”
“Yes as a matter a fact it was. So what has you up so late another date?” Max asked.
“No I was at a charity dinner, I ran into Tess and we got to talking, you know how that goes.” Isabel told him matter of fact.
“OH Tess, it’s been several months since I saw her last how is she doing?” Max inquired.
“Great actually she is getting married this fall in October.” Isabel told him.
“Really, that not so surprising, she has wanted to be married for some time, I am happy for her who is the lucky guy?” Max asked as he walked over to the bar and took out a soda and handed it to his sister.
“Thank you.” Is told him as she opened the soda and sat down on the couch. “His name is Kyle; his father is the head of that big computer company over in Bellmore. He is very handsome and they make a really sweet couple.”
“That’s great; at least someone is getting on with their life.” Max mumbled.
“OH I take it by that remark that the meeting with Miss Elizabeth Parker did not go so well?” Isabel asked feeling a bit let down; she had hoped that maybe this girl was finally going to be the one.
“No actually father said both he and mother loved her, thought she was the perfect girl for me.” Max stated some what sarcastically.
“Max you are the one who wanted them to look for someone for you remember. Besides you know that they are both an excellent judge of character and if they said she was great then maybe she is.” Isabel tried to sound encouraging.
“I know that, I do really its just that no one is ever going take Ava place and this is just so much more difficult then I ever thought it would be.” Max told her as he lay his head back against the couch and closed his eyes.
Isabel knew how hard this was for him much she also knew how important it was for him to be King and right now she felt the need to remind him of that. “Max just give this a chance, this is so important to you, you love Satadority, to rule when father retires is what you have worked for your whole life don’t let this stop you now. Trust Mother and Father they know you better then anyone.”
“Your right, I know that in my head. Just give me time to have my heart catch up alright.” Max assured her.
“Well I am off to bed think about it ok, I love you.” She bent down and kissed him on the cheek before leaving for her own private quarters.
Max called out after her, “Good night sis and thanks.”
IT was not long before Prince Maxwell found himself lying in his bed. He knew that he had no choice an arranged marriage to a commoner was really the only way to have the time and room he still needed to get past this utter disappear he felt in his heart. He rolled over and placed his hand on the pillow next to his, even after all these months he still missed his late wife terribly. “Oh Ava, I hope some how you will find a way to forgive me for this.” He whispered softly as he closed his eyes.
Ok so that is the actual officail end to part one (Scouts honor)
See ya

PART 2 THE DECISION
Date is 06/11/05 at around 9:43 in the PM
Here is Part 2 of my little story. Thanks for the kind words and remarks.
THis is a Max and Liz story does not follow the show at all. I don't own anything to do with Roswell. OH and this story is still rate TEEN/MATURE
I hope you like this next part I call it ...CHAPTER 2 The Decision...
The Decision
It was early on Friday morning when Liz made her decision. After talking with both her parents she decided to accept the marriage proposal of the royal family. She had an appointment to meet with Charles Thompson at 10:00 and now she found herself standing in front of his door hesitating. The door opened before she even had the chance to knock, “Elizabeth I thought that was you standing out here on my front porch. Please come in.”
Liz walked in and sat down on the sofa, “Well I have decided to accept the Kings, um… I mean the princes proposal of marriage.” Liz told him getting straight to the point. She could see by the smile on her old friends face that he approved of her decision.
Mr. Thompson sat down in the large oversized chair across from her, “Oh Elizabeth that is truly wonderful. I am very happy for you. I spoke with King William first thing this morning actually. He said that if your decision was to accept that I should let you know that the Prince wishes the ceremony to take place with in the month, perhaps around the 30th of April. He has asked Isabel to come here to Rosewood and to help you and your mother with the planning. Of course you know it will be family only a relatively private affair but that you should feel free to choose your dress and so on. His only other real request was that the ceremony takes place at the palace chapel and if you do not mind that Pastor Jones will officiate.”
Liz shook her head, “Oh ok. Well I will let my mother know. I look forward to meeting Princess Isabel, but when will I actually be meeting with the prince?”
Mr. Thompson looked at her and shook his head, “I am sorry Elizabeth, the Prince does not have any free time before the actual ceremony is to happen. He did say that his schedule is very busy and he did extend his apologies.” Seeing the look of disappointment that flashed across her face he quickly added. “Now Elizabeth I know this is going to be difficult but I hope that you will trust me when I say I do believe in the end all will work out for the best and you will be the most wonderful princess Satadority has ever had.”
Liz smiled, “I do trust you, and you have always been a dear friend to me and my entire family. I am just nervous; I mean what if the prince does not like me?”
Mr. Thompson had to laugh at that, “Oh my dear you are so wonderful really, of course he will love you given time. Elizabeth you have the kindest heart of anyone I know, once the prince sees this he will fall completely in love with you I promise you that and I am never wrong.”
Liz smiled her cheeks turning a bright red, “Thank you, I just wish I was as confident as you are.”
Mr. Thompson smiled, “Now before I forget, the King also wanted me to inform you that he will be sending a young man to Rosewood to meet with you. His name is Michael; he will be your companion from now on. Also Rupert will be arranging for you to move your things to the palace and setting up your schedule with you. Queen Dana is also sending Chard to help you put together your wardrobe, I think that is everything. I hope the King wasn’t mistake trusting and old fellow like me to remember all that.” He explained to her sweetly.
Liz felt overwhelmed; she had a million questions running through her head, “OK first of all what is a companion exactly? Second just what exactly is it that Rupert will be setting up for me schedule wise, and third why will I need a new wardrobe from a stylist like Chard, I thought after the wedding our public appearances were to be almost non existent, that was how the prince wanted things?”
“One question at a time, please my dear.” He chided her gently. “Now to answer your first question, a companion is a body guard, he is assigned to you and your safety and well being are his absolute main concern. All the members in the royal family have a personal companion and they travel with them at all times. As for your other two questions, Rupert will be setting up your daily schedule, there are many obligations, events, charity functions, and parties that you will be expected to attend even with out the Prince by your side, hence the need for your own stylist.”
Liz leaned back against the couch and tried to take it all in. The next few weeks were going to be very busy she thought to her self. Mr. Thompson stood up and walked over to Liz, he took her hand in his and helped her up to her feet, “Now Elizabeth don’t you worry about a thing, I will inform the King of your decision, you go and speak with your mother and father and let us worry about working this all out.” Liz shook her head in agreement and smiled at her old friend. She was just about headed out the door when she stopped abruptly, “This is not going to get out to the press just yet is it? I mean I would rather the public not know about this until after the wedding if possible, I don’t want to make things more difficult for my family then need be.”
“OH of course dear, Prince Maxwell will feel the same way. We will keep everything low key until after the ceremony. Speak with Rupert about it; he will make arrangement for your introductions as Satadoritys new Princess.” Mr. Thompson assured her. Liz said her goodbyes and headed home. She had a lot to share wither family and a lot to get ready for, her life was about to change in away she would never have guessed.
King William smiled as he hung up the phone. Max looked at his father’s expression and knew it could only mean one thing, “She accepted.”
King William nodded his head, “Yes she did, but Charles said that she did have some concern about the press finding out to soon. I will have Rupert call her and instruct her on how to handle any situations that might come up but hopefully we will be able to keep things quite.”
“Well at least she is not doing this for the attention.” Max said rather dryly.
“Max I told you she is a very caring and genuine sort of girl. Charles said she did not even protest about you not wanting to meet with her before the ceremony, which I still think is a mistake.
“We have gone over this, I just think it would be easier for me to not meet until the marriage. I am having enough of hard time with all this as it is.” Prince Maxwell told him.
“Very well then, we will do it your way Max. But would you like to see a picture of her at least?” His father asked.
Max first impulse was to say no but then he thought perhaps he should see this girl that he had just committed to living the rest of his life with, he nodded in agreement. King William walked over to his desk and pulled out a rather large file from inside his desk, after a few moments of thumbing through the papers he pulled out a small photo and handed it to his son. “I do believe that Charles said that photo was taken just last summer. She looks very much as she does now, well perhaps not quite as tan as the photo and her hair might be a few inches longer I think.”
Max took the photo and glanced at it. The eyes caught his attention all most at once, “She is pretty.” Was the only commit he made before he slid the photo into his pocket without thinking? “Alright about this business with the Labor party, do you think Mr. Kensit will see things our way? We can hardly settle this dispute without his votes can we?”
King William smiled to himself, thinking that even though his son seemed disinterred in his upcoming marriage, he had kept the picture of his future bride. The King saw this as a good sign, knowing full well that if Max had not been interested in what he saw he would have promptly returned the photo. Not wanting to push thing though he decided to allow the change in subject, “Don’t worry Max, Mr. Kensit will hold out just long enough to get that addition in budget for his education plans but in the end he will come around, he knows that we can not afford a strike right now.”
Max shook his head, “Sometimes all the game playing and dealing behind closed doors really gets to me. I know though it is the way things work.” Max offered as he walked to his fathers office door. “I have some more work to finish before I have to meet with Harkin for lunch so I will speak with you later.” He was just about to leave when the thought struck him, “Oh just out of curiosity, are we sending her a companion now, I mean with all good intention to keep things out of the press that does not always work?”
King William was sitting at his desk, “I was actually just about to make that phone call.”
“OH, so who are you sending, I mean if the plan is to keep this “hush” “hush” it can not be any of the regular detail or the press will recognize them and then all hell will break loose.” Max reminded his father.
“I am sending Michael; he just finished two years of study with one of our top filed agents.” The King informed him.
“Are you sure he is qualified for the position how old is he?” Max asked trying not to sound overly interested.
The King smiled, “Actually James recommended him to me, and I believe he said he was 26. From what I read in his file he has done very well, several security details that where very high risk, not as high profile but he has earned this position.”
“If James recommended him then I know he is the best possible choice.” Max stated with confidence before he left for his meeting.
Ok so I hope you enjoyed this part...
See Ya
