"Must be one of the others come to look for us.Maybe I should go sit in my room." I whispered back

"Or if we are lucky they'll think we both are asleep" I said laughing softly

I chuckle. "Hmm, yeah...or then again, when the lights went out you came into my room for company?" I whispered.

Isabel

"That's my boy...you're very quick on the up take." I said grinning,by now I could vaguely make out the outline of his face in the dark

"Just keep still and whoever it is might just go away." I lay back and looked up at the black ceiling,feeling very relaxed.

"Right" I whisper. I can make out that Isabel's laying down on my bed. I lay down next to her silently and take her hand.

I glanced around nervously at the new darkness. I usually didn't like the dark, but I felt safe here with Max. Still, I didn't want to get into my life's story with him. I replied with a slient thank you...and looked at her motions--the way her eyes looked into mine, the way her hair fell on her face and she quickly pulled it behind her ear. "Tell me anything...about where you grew up... or your parents--what do you love most in the world? Anything Miss Parker." I smiled at her, and waited for her reply.

Isabel

I cherished the comfortable silence that Alex and I were sharing,who would have thought that after only knowing eachother for 24 hours we'd be so attuned to one another

I turned onto my side and laid my free hand on his chest just above his heart,"Alex" I whispered

Kyle

I was busy defending 'Scarlett O'Hara' to Tess when all of a sudden there was a deafening crack and the room was plunged into darkness

"What the...!!!" I jumped up in surprise
"Don't move Tess,I'll go to the kitchen and get us some candles."

"Yes Isabel?" I ask. I bet she can feel how fast my heart is pounding right now...and it's not because of the darkness.

Isabel

"Do you believe that everything is pre-destined or that we make our own destiny?" I asked quietly

I could sense that he was puzzled by the question so I explained,"I'm asking 'coz it suddenly struck me that you've been friends with Kyle for years and I've been here every summer...well almost every summer for a vacation and yet,we never once bumped into eachother."

"It's strange don't you think?"
