Chapter 31

“Now about the baby, the bullet was lodged between your rib and the baby, but now harm has come to the baby. He or she is still in good condition,” the doctor tells us.

“We want to keep you overnight Elizabeth just to make sure that everything is all right,” the doctor tells us then leaves.

“Liz, are you okay?” she doesn’t say anything but I can tell that she’s happy. She has her hands on her stomach and a big fat smile on her face. A couple of minutes later, that is how she falls asleep.

I kiss her hand and walk out of the room. I walk around the hospital for a while just waiting, for something for nothing I really don’t know.

I walk to the chapel and sit in one of the pews, “Thank you god. Thank you for Liz and for our baby and whatever you will bring us in the future. I thank you and I know that I haven’t done a whole lot or talked to you in the past but thank you,”




Its really short and im sorry but my muse for my stories is currently non amusing . . . . .. . . .i will try to get back on track!

Chapter 32

“Hey Max, how’s Liz doing?” Michael asked me as we walked down the street toward the subway. Its been three months since Liz got out of the hospital and she’s doing great. Her and baby are fine and healthy and can my little man kick. Liz’s is five months pregnant, and couldn’t look more beautiful, even though she thinks that she’s big as a whale.

“She’s doing very good except that she thinks that she’s big as a whale,” I told him. He nods his head and laughs.

“I know how it is, Maria’s only two months pregnant and she thinks she’s huge. How are you doing?” he asked me.

“I’m great man, but I need to get on this subway so I can get home before Liz gets home from her mom’s house,” I tell him. Today’s her birthday, and I’ve been planning it for weeks. Today, when I woke up she looked so happy but when she thought that I didn’t remember her birthday, he face fell. I almost broke down, but I held strong and didn’t let my face show it.

“Alright man, have fun, later . . . . .” Michael says has he walks away.




That Night


“Max, you home?” I called has I walked through the apartment. I walked into the kitchen, I saw my favorite meal in the world with two big candles. Sitting on the other side of the table in a black suit was Max. He stands up and walks over to my side of the table and pulls out my chair. I sit down and just stare at him.

“I didn’t think that your remembered,” I said to him. He smile, his famous Evans’ smile and open some sparkling cider. He poured me a wine glass full and then poured himself some. He bend down and kissed my check while grabbing my napkin and placing it on my lap.

Dinner went by perfectly and without a hitch. He fed me and I fed him and we finished our meal with cheesecake. Nothing on it, just cheesecake, the way I like it. With thick crust and yummy layer of just cheesecake. I love this stuff.

After dinner, Max gave me a red and white rose and then walked me into the bedroom. On the bed was a red dress and a pair of red shoes. They were in my size.

“Go get changed beautiful,” he said and kissed me on the forehead. He pointed me in the direction of the bathroom where a hot bath was waiting for me. I stripped my clothes and got in the bath. I got out half an hour later, dressed and did my hair.

I walked out of the bathroom and walked out of the bedroom to the living room. Max was standing by the door with my jacket.

“Where are we going?” I asked him. He shook his head and kissed my lips. I pulled him down to deepen the kiss and felt his tongue on my lips asking for entrance, and who am I to deny him?

“Babe, come on, this night isn’t going to end this soon, I have something special planned for you.”

“What is this special thing?” I ask him as we walked out of the elevator and to the door. We get outside and a beautiful white stretch limo is standing in front of us. The driver opened the door and then “Surprise!”
