pandas2001 to answer you question, her closure with Micheal comes later because it came earlier but hasn't been seen yet. Gods I hope that made sense.

Also here is a helpful link for more Stargate information.

Chapter 17

Liz roared into the parking lot, and pulled up next to Jack. She’d seen the ‘copter from the road and knew something bad had happened. She shut down Michael’s bike, pulled off her helmet and waited for Daniel to park next to her.

Jack waited for both vehicles to be turned off before he strode over toward them, “Daniel, your phone was off.” His voice was tinged with a myriad of emotions. Liz could feel the tension, the stress and worry pouring off of him in waves. Something bad had happened; something very, very bad.

Daniel closed the car door, adjusted his glasses and pulled his phone out of his pocket. Frowning he turned it over once before looking at Liz. “It’s broken.”

Liz held out her hand and took it from Daniel. The plastic on the phone was slightly melted, and almost charred in some spots. “Huh.”

“I’m sorry Jack, I had no idea.” Daniel offered up his apology. Jack seemed as if he wanted to say something more, but he was just watching them and that made Daniel just a bit uncomfortable. His eyes darted down to the markings on his and Liz’s hands and wondered if jack had noticed them yet.

Jack quietly watched the exchange, and despite his total lack of patience, plus the need to be back in the air, there was something about the two of them now; something…off. He couldn’t quite place it but Daniel looked…guilty. “Ok, whatever happened here, you can explain on the ride back to the SGC.” He looked at Liz. “We have a situation and it calls for your talents.”

Liz froze, “My talents?” She wasn’t sure how to take that statement.

“Yeah, I don’t expect you to trot out your ‘talent’ in every situation but I have two dead, and two more well on there way there. I need to know who did this and why.” Jack grabbed Daniel’s keys and tossed them to the Airmen standing near by. He jerked his head in the man’s direction, “He’ll take your car back, your stuff is packed and in the copter so let’s go.” He turned and climbed into the copter and fired it up.

Liz looked at Daniel, frowned and they turned to follow Jack.

~*~

Sam looked at her drink; the room was a vacuum, the silence and awkwardness all consuming. But what did one expect when sitting in the living room with your former fiancée on a couch you had fucked on.

She could feel Pete’s eyes on her, it made her want to fidget, run, and at the same time it made her want to lay herself bare in front of him. So she gives into the latter because unlike some people she knows she isn’t a coward about emotional issues.

“I miss you.” That wasn’t what she’s planned to say first but…she looked up, saw the expression on his face; longing mashed together with sadness and anger, and knew she had started off the right way.

“Sam…Jesus, whose fault is that?” Pete stood up, dragged a hand through his hair and paced the room. He turned and looked at her, his face taunt with pain. “You dumped me Sam, not the other way around. ‘I don’t think I love you enough to marry you.’ Those were the words you used and you handed me the ring I gave you and walked out over three months ago. Now you come back and tell me you miss me. If I wasn’t so fucking pathetically in love with you still, I would tell you to fuck off and kick you out.”

“I…,” Sam was speechless. She could feel her chest aching, her heart pounding and hear her blood pounding through her veins was so loud she thought the Asguard might be able to hear it. She done to him almost exactly what Jack had done to her. She’d broken Pete, a loving proud man who had readily accepted every part of her and her life. She was sick.

Pete walked over to her, knelt in front of her, took the glass from her hands and clasped them between his own. “Sam, I love you. I love you so fucking much it kills me.” His voice was low, raw and slightly broken. He was so earnest and open; Sam felt herself shattering against the face of such honest and over powering emotion. “I love you, and honestly if you are here saying you want to try again I am all for it. I am in. But be sure; don’t say a fucking word unless you are sure.”

“How…”Sam struggled to find the words she needed. “How can you say that after what I’ve done?” She was so confused, and everything hurt. Her skin felt abraded and raw.

His smile was sad and wistful, “Because I love you.”

“What if that isn’t enough?”

“It will be, if you let it.”

Sam shook her head; she had never been good with this. “I want to go back to the beginning. Start over and do this the right way.” She needed to be sure that this was the right thing and not just because she was lonely, no, broken.

The smile that lit Pete’s face was stronger then a thousand suns. “I can do that, we can do that.”

A weight that Sam hadn’t known she was carrying was suddenly lifted, her chest light and free she could breathe for the first time in weeks. She leaned forward and hugged the man in front of her, the man she was fairly sure she loved but had let a dream, a sad weak dream at that, interfere with.

A loud militaryeques knock on the door shattered the silence startling them, causing them to yank apart abruptly. “Huh,” Pete stood and quickly hurried to open the door.

The Marine at the door was young, fresh faced and frustrated. “Sorry to disturb you Sir, is Colonel Carter here?” Sam walked over and stood so the solider could see her.

“Sir!” He snapped to attention.

“At ease,” Sam wondered what the hell Jack was up too now.

The soldier relaxed visibly, “Sir, The General requests your presence at the base, there has been an emergency.”

“What happened?” Sam felt Pete leave her side, she knew he was going to retrieve her keys and she was grateful.

“All I know is that he is recalling all of SG-1.”

Pete was next to her again, keys in hand. He handed them to her, and kissed her cheek. “Be careful, call me when you can.” He leaned in even closer, whispering in her ear. “Remember, I love you.”

On a side note I am still looking for a beta for this fic but Darkmoon found the time to beta this chapter for me. She rocks, so give her props.

Note: I need to give out a special thanks Synera for agreeing to be my beta. Also I need to give out a warning for abuse. In this chapter I start to go into what is happening to Maria at Khivar's hands. I tried not to be to graphic but I felt the need to hand out the warning anyways.

Chapter 18

Maria sat silently watching her lover work. He loved it when she sat silently, perfect and posed. He called her his china doll. She glanced his way to see if he was looking and when she was sure his attention was diverted rolled her shoulders and rubbed her stomach.

She ached all over. Her back, her neck, the marks he’d left on her to remind her she was his. Straitening up, it wouldn’t do to displease her lord, Maria repressed a groan.

Liz Parker, she heard him say that name over and over in his meetings since they moved into the palace. It was always filled with so much venom. She hated that some other woman could arouse so much emotion in him. He was hers as much as she was his, at least for now. However, that name seemed so familiar at times that it teased the edges of her tired brain, making her head ache.

Those were the times Khivar would come over, rub her temples, tread his fingers through her hair and massage her scalp taking all the pain away. She almost wished her head would ache more because he was so gentle then.

She didn’t even mind how rough he was because later, after she had shown the world how he marked her, he would heal her. He claimed her skin was such a beautiful canvas it was a shame to leave it marred for too long, and he did so enjoy starting over.

Maria looked at him, she could feel the baby moving almost as if he, and yes she knew she was carrying Khivar’s son and heir, could tell she was thinking of his father. She gave in to the impulse to rub away the discomfort and felt Khivar’s eyes focus on her.

He strode across the room, his expression fierce and tinged with anger. She’d moved. Fear crept through her, but it was colored with the excitement of his undivided attention.

“Beloved, how many times must I tell you to sit and not move?”

Maria looked him in the eye for a second before kneeling and looking at her hands clasped across her stomach. “My Lord, I beg your forgiveness. Your son is moving again.”

She could feel his gaze soften; the mention of his son often did that. He had taken more care with her during her punishments because of that.

“Go lay down. Well discuss this later.” Maria shivered with excitement at his tone. She was well loved, who could ask for anything more then that.

Liz stood next to Reynolds’s bed. She was trembling, her body covered in a sheen of sweat. The images she had seen in Forrest’s mind were consuming her. Liz grabbed the rail of his bed when she couldn’t breathe. A hand touched her and with it a soothing wave of coolness flooded her.

Daniel. She could feel him, surrounding her, in her, anchoring her and shielding her so she could go on. Liz closed her eyes, laid her hands on Reynolds’s and descended into hell.

Her scream rent the silence of the infirmary, her back arched, head tossed back, Daniel was holding her up, supporting her weight, keeping her hand on Reynolds’s and Jack had never seen anything so terrifying in his life. Sam touched him, her hand shaking and cold, he knew she wanted him to stop Liz but he couldn’t. Not when he was watching the wounds on his soldier close in front of him. Not when he would get the answers he needed. That was what being in command was about and it sucked, but it was who and what he was now.

Reynolds opened his eyes as Liz slumped backwards, her dead weight seemingly nothing to Daniel as he swept her into his arms and laid her on an empty bed. Jack felt a sliver of unease. He needed to know what happened between them in Roswell, and soon. But first he needed to know what the hell happened to his men.

Jack looked at his men; Forrest was still unconscious despite Liz’s best efforts and Reynolds, was wide awake, and anxious to have the doctor move off so he could talk. Jack waited for a few moments, and as soon as the thermometer was pulled he was there.

“Good to have you back solider.” Jack clasped Reynolds on the shoulder. “Now what the hell happened?”
“Sir?” Reynolds looked over to the bed where Liz laid, his face wrought with confusion and fear. “The man that attacked us, he described Liz. Told us she would be here, to heal us. I thought he was crazy, but . . .” His eyes focused on Jack’s, terror wide and in that instant Jack knew Reynolds would never go off world again. “Said we were a message, told us over and over as he . . .” Reynolds’ voice trailed off.

“Told you what soldier?” Jack asked softly.

“That he knew where she was, that he wanted the keys and he would burn this planet to ash to get them. She has to bring them. He is waiting, but not for long.”

Nausea burned the back of Jack’s throat, he heard Sam make a small sound, and spared her a sliver of concern. “Go check on Daniel and Liz.”

He watched her walk toward them for a second before leaning over and asking Reynolds, “Who did this, what was his name?”

“Nicholas.” Reynolds’s voice was low and laced with enough fear to give Jack chills. “But he said another name . . . called him his King, his Lord and Master. Said everything was all for him.”

Jack could see the madness flickering around the edges of Reynolds eyes, and he wished he’d been able to let the man die. “Who is his King?”

Reynolds opened his mouth to speak and in that moment Liz sat up and screamed, “KHIVAR!” her voice and words echoing his own.

Hello all, I have returned. Posting will still be slightly erratic as I am doing trained classes for my new position as manager. I have a serve-safe test to take on the 2nd of June and hopefully my schedule will slow down a bit, as it is I am working 9 hours a day five/six days a week, getting up at 2am to be at work by 4am and it is killing me. ( I haven't worked a 9 hour day since my 16yr old was 4) Next week I learn closing and being a night person it should make things easier. Thank you all for the wonderful feedback and sticking with this story. *hugs you all*

Chapter 19

Liz’s body arched off the bed, Khivar’s name on her lips. She took a deep breath, opened her eyes and saw everyone in the infirmary was staring at her and Daniel. His had lay on her shoulder, the only one unafraid. She could hear/feel the hum that was him in the back of her brain. She could feel him trying to sooth the rage that burned through her veins like acid. She knew that she needed to go back to Antar, and she knew exactly how.

She swung her feet off the bed, swayed for a moment and let Daniel brace her. His strength was her strength. “General.” Her tone was forceful, commanding and everyone in the room paused as if waiting to leap at her slightest demand.

Jack looked at her, his eyes wary. Something was wrong; her eyes were cold and black. “Parker?”

“Your men were tortured because of me. Because of my actions, I brought this upon them and I will avenge them.” Liz paused for a moment, Daniel’s hand lightly toughing her wrist. Jack watched Liz close her eyes, shudder ever so slightly and reopen her eyes to stare at him again. She still seemed alien and cold but her eyes were brown again. “By your leave of course, sir.” Liz tipped her head deferentially ever so slightly as she spoke this time.

Jack slid his hands into the pockets of his pants, rocked back on his heels slightly and stared at Liz and Daniel. He glanced over at Sam, who was unusually quite, than at Reynolds. He knew what he wanted to do, he wanted to order someone to the armory and bring him a gun, a big one, than rush through the gate and kill the sons a bitches that did this to his men. But he couldn’t, not anymore. He was stuck behind a god damn desk that he hated, trapped there by a body that was weak even if he wasn’t.

Liz was an unknown factor still, a weapon. Possibly a perfect one and he thought he could trust her….but…”Daniel, Liz my office now.”

Daniel looked at Liz, he could feel the rage simmering just below the surface. He could feel her desire to avenge the others, rescue Maria and out right kill Khivar. He didn’t understand their connection, not in the least but he knew when he touched her she calmed down and that frightened him just a bit. He looked at his best friend and knew Jack was going to want answers he didn’t have, answers Jack wouldn’t like even if he did have them.

He took Liz’s hand for a moment, squeezed it, let it drop and turned to follow Jack.

Liz looked at her hand, flexed it than turned to Sam, quickly hugged her and turned to follow Daniel.

Sam watched her walk away, puzzled by the hug and how much better it made her feel. Liz was different. She could tell that immediately as was Daniel. The warmth and the love she’d felt when Liz hugged her fled and in its place was the sensation everyone was leaving her behind.

~*~

Teal’c walked slowly next to Master Bra'tac as he walked toward the gate. They had discussed Antar, and Liz’s unheard of powers. But it seemed many on Antar were gifted, and that was why Nirrti had dealt with them, given them aide during their civil war. She’d wanted an Antarian hok'tar. Even with her gone and much of the Go’uld’s powers depleted it seemed there were still many who were willing to lend a hand to procure a hok'tar from that planet.

“Chel Nok, Teal’c”

Bra’tac grasped Teal’c forearm tightly and bowed his head slightly toward the man he considered a son. This leader is cunning, if given the chance he would turn himself into a false god.”

“As you say, Master, I shall warn the others and be mindful.”

“Tell Hammond of Texas I look forward to playing poker with him again soon.” Bra’tac stepped back from his protégée’ as the gate leapt to life and watched his step through for what he hoped would not be the last time.

Hi Everyone!!

This is actually Darkmoon! Burningchaos asked me to leave this little Author's Note letting you know what's going on. She just moved, and because of that move, needed to get a phone line and internet into the new house. Magically AT&T has gotten lost for the past 2 weeks trying to get to said house. *Grrrr* So she is without internet at this time. She will be back soon, because come Wed if she doesn't have internet or phone she's raising holy hell with AT&T. I let her know that you all miss her. And she misses you all too!

Thanks!

Darkmoon
