Roswell Is Home- Sean/Tess (Adult) Ch. 11 4/8 [WIP]

Post by gnrkrystle »

Disclaimer: I don’t own Roswell. The End.
Rating: Adult
Coupling: Sean/Tess
Summary: Sean comes back to town, and is surprised to find that there is someone in the group that just might be hated more than him.
A/N: I know, I know, why am I starting another one. I just couldn’t help myself! This idea was running through my head, and I thought, what the hell…WRITE IT! Hope you Enjoy.

Chapter 1:

Sean kicked the dirt in front of him as he leaned against his car on the side of the road. The desert. He hated the desert. He hated Roswell. He didn’t belong in a small town with small minded people.

That’s why he was standing on the side of the road, 5 miles outside of the Roswell city limits. He huffed and got back into his car and brought it to life. It was now or never. His aunt was waiting for him, and he had that pesky thing called “parole” to worry about. But with his cousin, who never shut up, and all of her annoying friends, he was pretty sure that those 10 minutes on the side of the road were going to be the last moments of piece and quite he would get for a long time.

He’d been gone for 3 years. Three fucking years. Granted he had burglarized the school and inadvertently injured a security guard, but he had been 15. He was an idiot when he was fifteen. Everyone is an idiot when they are 15.

Sean seriously thought about turning around when he drove past the “Welcome to Roswell” sign. But he kept on, hoping to God it wouldn’t be that bad, and knowing that it was only 3 years. Once he turned 21 he could leave Roswell forever, never looking back. Plus, he loved his Aunt Amy. She was cool, even if she did believe in Aliens as a way to support herself.

But she was the only family he really had. She and Maria, as much as she drove him nuts, were all he had, and they did love him. His own family didn’t love him. The DeLuca sisters had the innate ability to pick out the worst men to procreate with. And while his mother continued to party, Amy took control of her life and took care of him and Maria when his mother left town to pursue and “acting” career.

Maria wasn’t that bad either. It was just that when he left 3 years ago she was 14, and in the middle of her annoying adolescent phase. Hopefully, she wouldn’t be so bad now. She would be 17 now, maybe they would have something in common. Thought, he wasn’t going to hold his breath just yet.

He needed to stop psyching himself out. Roswell was going to suck, yes, but it was nothing he couldn’t handle. He spent 3 years in Juvie for Christ’s sake.

Before he could give it anymore though, he had arrived at the DeLuca house. Amy’s Jetta was parked outside, though it was considerable more beat up than the last time he saw it. Maria must be one hell of a bad driver. He chuckled at himself before he could help it. “Well, here goes nothing,” he said aloud before he got out of the car.

He walked slowly up to the house, duffle bag in hand, but before he could even make it to the door, Amy burst through, smiles and laughs. Her energy was infectious, and a smile even spread across his jaded face. “SEAN! YOU’RE HOME!” she cried, and he pulled her into his arms and into a tight hug.

“Hey, Aunt A,” Sean greeted. “How ya been?” he asked, almost laughing at himself at the ridiculousness of his question.

“Good, good,” Amy said, hurrying him into the house, “Come on. Maria, isn’t here right now. She’s working, but let’s get you settled in.”

Sean nodded and smiled, following his aunt into the house which looked exactly the same as when he had left it. Still looked like a hippy lived there, and it still smelled like Maria’s oils. As much as he hated Roswell, he had to admit. He was home. He smiled and set his bag down on the bed in his old room.

He let out a deep breath and joined his bag on the bed. He needed a nap. Then he’d go look for Maria at the Crashdown.

A/N: Some quotes might be the same or similar to the same scene in Roswell…just a heads up.

Chapter 2

Maria moved around the Crashdown quickly, trying to get the remaining costumers out of there so they could close. She had been working all day, and she was over it. She and Michael were going to spend a good 4 hours on his couch making out, and she was looking forward to it. He’d actually been nice to her the past few days, and she didn’t want to waste anymore quality time waitressing.

Finally the last customer was gone, and all that was left in the diner were Tess, Kyle, Isabel, Michael, and a flustered Liz, who had actually slipped up and asked someone if they wanted a “side of Max.” Maria nearly pissed herself when that happened.

Before she could lock the door, she heard the bell ring, signaling that someone just walked in. “We’re closed,” she huffed, frustrated, before looking at who walked in. Oh God. She totally forgot her loser cousin was coming back today.

“You’ve got to be kidding me. When did you get out?” Maria asked. The rest of the group turned to look at the new man who walked in. Liz recognized him instantly. He looked good, she had to admit, if you like that type. Her type was the tall dark pretty boy, obviously.

Kyle and Isabel took a minute, but eventually they remembered him as well. It was Maria’s cousin who’d left 3 years ago, for reasons they never knew nor cared about.

Michael had listened to Maria rant about her cousin on several occasions, and after what he put her family through, he hated him on principal. The glare on his face spoke a thousand words.

Tess was completely thrown off guard. Who was this guy, she wondered, but just sat next to Kyle.

Sean stood there uncomfortably for a minute before asking, “So, ummm can I get a burger or something?”

“We’re closed,” Maria snipped at him, taking off her apron.

“The door was open.” Sean countered.

“We’re CLOSED!” Michael yelled from the kitchen.

“Look, I’ll make him something,” Liz said, shrugging. She knew Maria was mad at him, but the kid needed to eat.

Maria followed her back to the kitchen and asked, “What are you doing?”

“Maria, it’s burger. He will be in and out. If you can Michael want to go, go ahead.” Liz said, waving her off. Maria huffed but nodded, going to the back room to change.

In the main dining room, Isabel had already left, needing to go find Grant. She needed answers about the “dream” she walked into. Kyle and Tess were sitting at the bar and Sean just stood there.

“You wanna sit?” Tess asked, feeling a little bad for the poor guy. Maria was really letting him have it, and from what she could tell he hadn’t done anything wrong. She knew how it felt.

Sean smiled, and nodded gratefully, sitting in between Kyle and Tess. “So, I don’t think we’ve met,” he said extending his hand to Tess, who shook it.

Kyle just rolled his eyes, but he didn’t have the time to worry about Sean or Tess or anyone at that point. He had bigger things on his mind. Like becoming an Alien.

Liz moved back into the dinning room with a burger and sat in front of Sean. “Anything else?” she asked.

“No, this is good. Thanks, Parker,” Sean said, with a smile. Well, Parker may still have looked like a 12 year old boy with mousy brown hair, but she sure wasn’t as annoying as she had been 3 years ago.

“Ok, I’m going to head upstairs and work on my Biology homework.” Liz said, looking down at her hands. “So, ummm, Kyle, can you lock up when you guys leave?’ she asked.

“Ummm, yeah, sure,” Kyle said, distracted.

“So, where is Alice…I mean, Alex?” Sean asked, after he bit into his sandwich.

“Oh, he’s in Sweden,” Tess answered, “He’ll be back next week actually.”

“Oh, ok.” Sean said, and he ate the rest of his burger in silence, when he was done, he turned to Kyle.

“So, Kyle, right.” Sean asked. Kyle nodded. “When did you become friends with Maria? Didn’t you guys use to be like mortal enemies?” Sean was actually wondering about all of them. Liz and Maria were friends for life, but Isabel and Kyle were not a part of their crowd, and he’d never seen Tess in his life.

“Oh, well you know,” Kyle said, not really knowing how to answer the question. Aliens invaded and he changed his priorities? “Things change,” was what he went with.

“Yeah, I guess.” Sean said, then he turned his attention to Tess. “And I don’t believe I’ve ever seen you,” he said, his charming smile coming to his face.

Tess smiled back, “Well, I just moved here at the end of last year. I actually live with Kyle and Sheriff Valenti.” Tess answered. Kyle looked at her and shook his head with a grin. Tess was rambling. This was something he wished he had on tape.

“Oh,” was Sean’s only reply. “So, were are you’re parents?”

“My mom’s never been around, but my dad is in the military, so he’s gone all the time.” Tess answered, never skipping a beat.

“That sucks,” Sean said. He couldn’t help but relate. “Well, I think I’m going to head back to the house. Maybe Maria can yell at me some more.” Sean laughed, taking his plate to the back.

“Oh, she probably won’t be there,” Tess said. “She and Michael are going back to his apartment.” She said with a knowing smile.

“She’s dating that guy?” Sean asked. When he left, the girl couldn’t even get a date, now she was dating the typical male ape. The DeLuca women sure know how to pick ‘em.

“Yep, for almost 2 years now,” Kyle said, grabbing Tess’s coat and handing it to her. Sean wondered if they were together. Maria’s new friends seemed like a pretty incestuous groups, and it would figure the hottest girl he’d ever seen come through their town was taken.

“Wow,” Sean replied, shaking his head. He’d have to check into Michael, just to make sure Maria was ok. She may be a bitch to him, but she was family and he loved her. “Ok, well I guess I’ll see you two around.” Sean said, leaving the Crashdown.

Kyle said nothing, but Tess said, “Sure, see you Sean.”

After Kyle locked up, he and Tess headed to his car. “So, was it just me, or were you flirting with Sean DeLuca?” He asked, trying to control his laugher.

“No!” Tess responded a little too defensively. “He was nice. Why are you guys so mean to him anyway.”

“Hey, I wasn’t mean.” Kyle said, “But if you are referring to Maria and Michael, it could have something to do with putting Maria and Amy through the ringer about 3 years ago when he got sent off to a boy’s detention center.” Kyle said.

God, hot and a bad boy. Tess was in trouble.

********

The next day, Sean was sitting at the kitchen table enjoying his breakfast when Maria sat down in front of him, a stern look on her face.

“Can I help you?” Sean asked, covering a smirk.

“Rules. We have to establish a few rules.” Maria said, sipping her coffee.

“O…K…” he said.

“One, no breaking your parole. Two, no leaving the seat up. Three, no messing with any of my friends. And four, stay out of my life, and mind your own business.” Maria said, looking at him as if she meant business.

“Yes, ma’am.” Sean said, only intending on following the first two rules.

“I’m serious, Sean. For some reason, my mother believes in you, and I can’t help that. But you are not dragging me or my friends into your crap. And stay away from Liz. I saw how you were looking at her. She is in a delicate place and doesn’t need to deal with you and your bullshit!” Maria said.

Sean nearly choked on his eggs. LIZ PARKER! Right, the day he wanted Liz Parker was the day…well it was the day hell would freeze over. “I think Liz is safe.” He said, and without missing a beat he continued to eat as Maria huffed and stalked out of the room.

Chapter 3

“Hello?” Sean ran to answer the phone after he got out of the shower.

“Sean?” A girl’s voice asked.

“Umm, yeah, who is this?” He said, confused.

“Oh, this is Tess. Is Maria around?” Tess asked, willing the butterflies in her stomach to go away.

“No, she went out with Liz.” Sean said, his lips turning into a smile at the thought of a confused Tess on the other end of the phone. He didn’t know what it was about that girl, but she was hot, that much he did know.

“Oh,” Tess said, not sounding that disappointed. “Ok. Well, I was just calling to tell her that we changed movie night to 8:00 instead of 7:00 because Jim isn’t leaving for Hondo until later. Its actually not really movie night because Alex is back and we are going to watch his slides. ” Tess said, she knew she was rambling. Yet another reason not to hang out with Maria so much.

“Ok, well I’ll let her know when she gets back.” Sean said, ready to hang up the phone.

“Well, do you want to come over?” Tess said, mentally kicking herself for how forward and lame she sounded.

Sean thought about it for a second. Maria had said that he was supposed to leave her friends alone, but he wasn’t one to say no to a girl like Tess. “Well, I don’t know if that’s such a good idea,” he said.

“Oh, ok. I understand,” Tess said, fully prepared to punch herself in the face after this conversation. She was the one that was supposed to be poised and calm around boys.

“What the hell,” Sean finally said. Maria could kick his ass later, it might be worth it. “I’ll see you at 8:00.” He said.

Tess smiled immediately. “Great. See you.” She said before hanging up.

Sean chuckled to himself as he hung up the phone. Roswell might not be too bad.

********

“Maria I need your car,” Michael said earnestly in the back of the Crashdown.

“Maria, may I please borrow your car?” Maria said, smirking with sarcasm.

“I’m serious Maria. I need the car.” Michael said.

“What for?” Maria asked, crossing her arms over her chest.

Michael looked around to make sure they were alone before pulling out the picture he and Isabel had found. “Oh my God,” Maria gasped. “That’s you!”

“I know,” Michael said, “And I need answers from Laurie.” He said, “So I need your car.”

“What are we going to do, follow the ambulance to the hospital?” Maria asked.

“WE aren’t going to do anything. I’m going to follow them, and try to talk to her once they get her settled in.” Michael said.

“Oh no, spaceboy. I’m going with you.” She said, and Michael didn’t have the time or patience to fight with her.

“Ok, but they are moving her in a few hours.” Michael said.

“Ok, let me just get some clothes.” Maria said.

Before the left Maria called the group, explaining what they were doing and Max promised to get in touch with them if they found out any information about who was after Laurie.

A few hours later Maria and Michael were trailing Laurie’s ambulance out of town.

********

That night, the group congregated at the Valenti house to fill in Alex on what was going on. When he was finally caught up to speed, his eyes grew wide. “Damn, you leave Roswell for a few weeks and all of a sudden it’s like a soap opera.”

Isabel was pacing and still distracted. “But we need to know who’s after her. What is the blue Crystal, and why did it come to life. I know this is something alien.” She said.

Max wrapped his arms around her. “Isabel, we will find out. Tomorrow morning Liz and I are going to look at the properties of the crystal and figure out what it is. We can do anything until tomorrow. Let’s just watch Alex’s slides, and try to calm down. Michael and Maria are with Laurie. Everything will be ok.”

Everyone nodded in agreement. There was no use getting worked up tonight. As they began to get into places for Alex’s presentation, the doorbell rang. “Who could that be?’ Kyle asked.

“Oh, I’ll get it.” Tess said, knowing very well who it was.

Sean stood on the other side of the door, looking good enough to eat and Tess quickly pulled him into the house and into the living room.

Everyone’s jaw dropped when they saw Sean standing before them. Kyle looked at Tess knowingly, but Max, Isabel, Alex, and Liz were quite surprised to see him there. “Hey Alice,” Sean said, bitting his lip as he noticed Alex.

“It’s actually Alex, how was prison,” Alex returned, a bit in his voice. Sean just chuckled and looked around feeling a little uncomfortable.

‘I invited Sean over,” Tess said, leading him to the couch and sitting down next to him.

“Tess can I talk to you?” Max said, eyeing her critically.

“Yeah,” she sighed following him into the kitchen.

“What the hell are you doing?” Max asked.

“Look, he doesn’t have any friends in town, he’s Maria’s cousin, I just thought he might like to hang out instead of sitting with her crazy mother all night.” Tess said.

“And that’s all?” Max asked.

“Yes, Max. What do you care anyway?” Tess countered.

“I don’t. But we are in a delicate place right now. We can’t get caught.” Max said.

“And being rude and avoiding him would look a little suspicious don’t you think?” Tess said, lifting an eyebrow at him.

She made a good point and Max conceded, following her back into the living room.

“So, where are Maria and Michael?” Sean asked.

Everyone looked at each other. “Oh, they decided to hang out at his place instead,” Max said.

Sean’s eyes darkened at the thought of that ape defiling his cousin. Isabel shot a look at Max, as if to say, ‘good going, idiot.’

“Actually, they are working on a project for class, so it’s not like that,” Tess covered, and Sean seemed to ease up, just slightly.

“Ok, so let’s get to the slides Alex,” Isabel said, perking up slightly, “I wanna hear everything about Sweden.”

After Alex showed them about 3 hours worth of slides, The group started to dissipate. Max and Liz headed off to do god only knew what. Sean had to admit, those two were made for each other. According to Tess, they weren’t together anymore, but Sean could tell that they still both had it bad. It was actually pathetic watching the two of them together.

Isabel left, not long after, seemingly distracted. Sean was beginning to think ALL of his cousins friends were a little off. Max seemed guarded at all times. Liz acted like she was scared of her own shadow. Isabel had a sort of distracted Ice Queen thing about her, not to mention that Michael guy. Kyle seemed pretty normal, and Tess was the only person truly friendly. But there just seemed to be a vibe between all of them that was a little weird.

Sean felt the need to say something to Alex, after everyone else left. “Hey, man.” He said shaking the guys hand. Alex was a little hesitant but finally gave in. “Nice slides,” he said, knowing it sounded dumb, but what else did he have to say.

“Thanks,” Alex said, half heartedly.

Soon, he was gone too and it was just Kyle and Tess in the house. “I’m gonna go to bed,” Kyle said looking at Tess intently.

“Night, Kyle.” Tess said, waving her hand as if to say leave us alone.

“So I better go too,” Sean said, knowing that being alone with Tess wasn’t going to be a smart move. He thought he saw disappointment on her face, but he wouldn’t swear on it.

“Ok,” she said. She was disappointed, but it wasn’t like this would be the last time they saw each other.

Sean headed for the door, and Tess led him out. “So,” he said, turning around, an air of confidence about him. “You wanna go out sometime?” he asked.

Tess smiled, just enough to show she was pleased, but not enough to show that her stomach was doing flip flops of excitement. “I’d like that, Sean.” She said.

“How about tomorrow night?” he said, leaning comfortably against the door frame. Tess loved the way he was so at ease with himself. Confident. Sexy.

“Sounds good. Wanna pick me up at 8:00?” Tess asked.

“It’s a date.” Sean said, placing a charming smile on his face. Then he turned around and left, glad he’d worked up the courage to ask her and didn’t come out looking like a stuttering asshole.

Tess went to her room and got in bed, thinking about her date the next night with Sean. Maybe she could finally have her own life too. It was about time.

Chapter 4

“Earth is in danger?” Tess repeated as Liz, Max, and Isabel relayed what had happened with Larek that morning.

“We can’t leave,” Alex said, stating the obvious. “Even if you knew how to get back, Liz and I can’t go with you.”

“We aren’t leaving,” Max said. “We are going to figure this out.”

“Good,” Alex said.

“So, what do we do?” Tess asked with a sigh. It couldn’t just be a normal day. It had to be a life or death, save the world kind of day.

“Liz and I are going to do some research today.” Max answered, looking at Liz, who smiled at him. Tess, Alex, and Isabel would have rolled their eyes, but the moment was too intense.

“Ok, I’ll call Maria and Michael and let them know the situation. Have them keep their eyes peeled for the queen,” Isabel offered.

“I bet Amy is freaking out right about now,” Alex said with a chuckle.

***********

“Where the hell is she!” Amy said, pacing the room.

Sean just watched, hoping she would calm down. Truth be told, he was a little worried too. She had been gone for almost 2 days now without a word, and he hadn’t seen Michael around either. If he had done anything to her, Sean was sure we could kill him and not feel too badly about it.

“Liz would know,” Amy said to herself. “What is her number?” she muttered, looking around Maria’s room.

“I’ll go find her.” Sean said, grabbing his jacket. “Don’t worry, Aunt A. Just sit down and relax.”

He hurried down the road and toward the Crashdown, where he was almost positive she was. And when he walked in the door, he found her sitting with Alex and Isabel at a table. “M went AWOL, and Aunt Amy is freaking out,” he said to Liz, not even bothering with a hello.

“Can you translate that into English for those of us who haven’t been to prison?” Alex scoffed. He decided to give Sean a hard time, even though he wasn’t holding a grudge against him anymore.

“It’s fine,” Liz said standing up and smiling at Sean. “I’ll take care of it.” She followed him out to his car and before he started it, he turned to her.

“So, what’s really going on?” he asked Liz. “Because I know you are about to make something up for my aunt, and that’s fine with me. Anything that will help her chill out is good. But tell me where the hell Maria is.” He said, seriously.

Liz knew it was no use lying, but she couldn’t tell him the whole truth, so she said, “Maria and Michael are in Arizona. They decided to take a road trip, and they will be back in a few days.” Liz said.

“Great,” Sean muttered.

“Michael isn’t as bad as you think,” Liz protested as he drove down the road, back to his house.

“I’m sure.” Sean said. He knew bad guys, and Michael was definitely bad.

“He loves her,” Liz said. Sean softened a little, and hoped that was true, but if it wasn’t and he broke her heart, Sean was going to make sure that Michael regretted it.

**********

After Amy finally talked to Maria, and Liz left suddenly, and very strangely with Max, Sean decided to get ready for his date with Tess.

As he dressed, he felt butterflies in his stomach and chalked it up to being out of practice. He didn’t want to admit that this girl really had and effect on him, even if he barely knew her.

Soon, he got in his car and headed to the Valenti’s.

At The Valenti’s…

Tess was running a little late because of the alien chaos of the day, and she had just gotten everyone but Kyle out of the house when the bell rang. “Shit,” she said.

She didn’t know there was going to be an impromptu meeting tonight. But they had to finalize plans for tomorrows excursion to Frasier Woods in the morning to find the queen of the alien gandarium. Seriously? This was her life.

“Kyle will you get the door?” she called from upstairs, just finishing up her make-up.

Kyle sighed and got off the couch, letting Sean in. “Hey, man.” Sean said, moving uncomfortably into the room.

“Hey,” Kyle said, eyeing the other man up and down. He was just a little protective of Tess. She was like his sister. But he decided to just let things play out and see if anything got serious before he said anything.

“Hey,” Tess’s cheerful voice called from the stairs.

“Ready?” Sean asked, a smile coming to his face when he saw her. She was radiant. Even if she was just wearing a skirt and a plain long-sleeved shirt.

“Yep,” Tess said, linking her arm in his. “Where too?” she asked after they got outside.

“It’s a surprise,” Sean said.

“A VW Bug?” Tess said, almost laughing as she got in the car.

Sean faked a hurt look and started the car. “Hey, don’t knock the car. It was free.” He said.

“You DeLucas and your Volkswagens,” Tess chuckled.

When Sean pulled up to Senor Chows, Tess smiled at herself. Well, it was clichéd, but this was Roswell, and there were not a lot of options. If he had taken her to the Crashdown, it would have been all over. “Hope you like Chinese/Mexican,” Sean laughed. “God, this town is whack.”

“You have no idea,” Tess said, getting out of the car.

Sean had made reservations, which was really unnecessary, but he wanted to show Tess he was interested in her, so he thought it might look good. Shit, he didn’t know what impressed girls anymore.

After they ordered, Sean grinned at Tess, “Like spicy food, eh?” he said.

“Well, you know I like things hot.” She replied, coyly. This girl knew what she was doing, and Sean liked it. No prudish girly girls for him. He wanted a woman who could hold her own in a battle of wits.

“So, let me ask you,” Sean said, moving on to actual topics, “How did you and Maria become friends?” They didn’t seem very similar, but then again Maria was not the same Maria she was 3 years ago.

Tess didn’t even skip a beat. She was much better at lying than the rest of the group. She’d been doing it her whole life. “Well, when I came to Roswell, I first made friends with Isabel, Kyle, and Max. Then Michael, and with Michael comes Maria,” she chuckled.

“Yeah, I guess they are close,” Sean said, hoping she would elaborate.

She did, “Michael is tough on the outside, you know. All hard and cold. But to tell the truth, Maria broke through his walls. He really cares about her. Sometimes I think she’s the only thing he cares about,” Tess said. She wasn’t bitter. She was happy for Michael. She’d given up that destiny crap a long time ago.

Sean nodded, “Ok,” he said, “You know, I just have to make sure she is ok.” She smiled.

Tess smiled back. A bad boy with a soft spot for his crazy family. Swoon. “So, not to be too forward,” Tess said, though she had never been one to worry about being forward. “What were you in juvie for?”

Before he could answer, the food came. After the waitress left, he answered, “Well, technically it was a boy’s reformatory.” He explained with a chuckle, then got serious. “When I was 15, me and my idiot friends thought it would be a good idea to break into the school and steal some computers.” Sean chuckled to himself. They wouldn’t have even been able to carry the computers out, and it sounded so cliché. “When a security guard found us, we ran and he followed, but he slipped on the floor wax, and broke his ankle. That didn’t help.” Sean said.

“Oh,” Tess said, having listened to him intently. So it wasn’t the craziest bad boy story she had ever dreamed of, but at least he seemed remorseful. “Well, I take it you learned your lesson,” she grinned.

“Yeah, three years in a boys school is all the punishment I think I need,” he laughed.

“So, what, are you going to start going to West Roswell?” Tess asked.

“Nah,” Sean said, after he chewed his food. “I finished school early in the reformatory.”

“College?” Tess asked.

Sean felt like he was at an interview. He laughed and said, “We’ll see. I think right now, I just want to try to take care of my family.”

“That’s really cool, Sean,” Tess said. She wasn’t one of those college snobs like Max and Liz. Sure, she was going to go to college, but it just wasn’t the right path for some, in her opinion. Sean’s family came first, and that was good.

“So, enough with the serious stuff,” Tess said, wanting to cut the tension. “What else do you have planned tonight?” she asked, throwing on a flirty smile.

Sean grinned back at her. “Well, don’t really have anything else planned, thought we would play it by ear.”

“That’s my favorite way to play,” Tess said, grabbing her coat as Sean laid his money on the table. She took him by the hand and pulled him out of the restaurant and to the car.

“What do you say, we go back to my house and watch a movie.” She said, strapping herself into the car. “Kyle is with Isabel, and Jim is going to be in Hondo again,” Tess said. Actually, the gang was all at the Evan’s house getting ready for the hunt tomorrow, but Tess wasn’t going to say that.

“Is Kyle with Isabel?” Sean asked, not really caring, just wondering.

Tess almost laughed. That would be a match made in hell. “No, Kyle is striking out, actually,” she laughed. “Alex and Isabel have this on again, off again thing,” she explained.

Sean nearly swerved off the road when he heard that. “You mean Alex Whitman, the biggest dork in the world, is dating Isabel?” he asked.

“Yeha,” Tess said. She knew why that might be surprising to the onlooker. “Again, Alex has changed in just the time that I’ve known him. He’s confident, and really awesome. I love him.” She said.

“Damn. I must have entered an alternate universe,” Sean said. “That or the last 3 years have been fucking nuts.”

Tess chuckled at that. Nuts was one word for it.

*********

“So, what do you want to watch?” Tess said, honestly not caring.

Sean pursued the movie selection and picked out one, he didn’t really care what it was, and wouldn’t know it anyway. He hadn’t seen a movie in over 3 years.

“Ok,” Tess said, looking at his selection with a smile. She popped House of Wax in the DVD player. Sean sat on the couch and Tess joined him after she flipped off the lights.

She sat closer to him than she needed to, but this was a date, and he was hot, and hey, a girl could try.

Sean smiled to himself as she moved closer to him, and took this chance to wrap his arm around her, letting his fingers slightly rest on her exposed arm. Tess moved in even closer, until her head was resting on Sean’s chest, with his arm wrapped tightly around her.

“So, when do Jim and Kyle get back?” Sean whispered, an inch away from her face.

Tess almost giggled like a school girl, but kept her composure as she inched closer to him, breathing against his lips. “Late.”

Sean grinned, and immediately moved his lips to capture hers. She fell into him, almost sighing, and as her lips parted, Sean glided his tongue into her mouth.

“Mmm,” Tess moaned as she took control of the situation, pushing Sean against the couch as she kissed him harder.

Before they knew it, they heard keys in the door. Tess quickly moved back to her spot on the couch, and she and Sean wiped their mouths, laughing a little bit. “I guess not that late,” Tess said.

Sean just grinned and pointed to the TV, where the menu was playing again. They had made out through the entire movie and didn’t even realize it.

Tess was one hell of a kisser as far as Sean was concerned and he could have kissed her for a few more hours, but as Kyle walked in the door and saw them, he realized the kissing for the night was over. But no way was this going to be the only date.

“Hey,” Kyle said, not wanting to know what was going on, on the couch.

“Hey,” Sean said getting up and stretching. Tess got up as well, and followed him to the door and Kyle went up the stairs. “So…” Sean said, turning to face her, when they were alone.

“Yeah,’ Tess said, trying her best not to let the moment be awkward.

“Wanna go out again?” Sean asked. Best to sound like you don’t care, he told himself.

“Sure.” Tess said. “Here’s my number,” she sadi grabbing a pen and a piece of paper.

She handed it to him and he smiled, leaning down to kiss her one last time. She melted into his kiss again, but kept it short. Always leave them wanted more, he coached herself.

“Later,” Sean said, turning and walking to his car.

Tess watched him drive away and didn’t stop smiling the rest of the night.

Chapter 5

“Start here,” Max told Kyle and Alex, as he handed them shovels. They had figured out where the queen’s next most likely was, and now all they could do was dig for it. “We’ll start over here,” he pointed in another direction. Tess and the rest of them followed him to separate spots around what should be the nest.

Tess was really tired. Sean didn’t leave last night until about 1:00am, and then after he left, she laid in her bed and though about him for another hour before she fell asleep. Then Max was at their house bright an early with this plan. But she had to push the tiredness away and think about the task at hand.

This was important. Laurie was in danger. Maria and Michael were in danger. More importantly, the whole world was in danger, all because of them. Her family. She knew she shouldn’t think about it like that. It wasn’t their fault. They didn’t ask for all of this, but it was the cross they bore none the less, and no amount of normal dates with a normal guy would make that go away.

She picked up a shovel and started work. She shoveled and shoveled, for a long time. Her fatigue forgotten, but she never found anything but more dirt. This sucked.

“Max, can we take a quick break,” Isabel said, almost out of breath. They had been at this for at least an hour and they didn’t find anything.

Max sighed, tired himself and nodded. “Yeah, let’s get Alex and Kyle.” But when they approached the spot where the group had left the to, they were gone. Only a blue crystal stood where they had been.

Liz’s phone immediately rang. “Your what?” she asked, unable to hear Kyle on the other end of the phone. “Oh my god, you guys,” she said, her eyes wide. “they were down there.” She said pointed at the ground.

**********

Sean woke up, late morning, and found Amy sitting on the couch watching TV. She was still a little on edge and would be until Maria got back. Sean could kill his cousin for putting Amy through that. He’d have to have a talk with her later.

“Morning Sean,” Amy said. “You got back late last night.” She noted.

“Yeah,” he said, “I’m sorry about that.” He completely forgot to call. He wasn’t used to checking in and being a part of a working family anymore.

“No, it’s fine,” Amy said. “I just get worried.” She smiled.

“I’m sure Maria is fine,” Sean said, knowing she was more worried about her daughter on the open road with Michael.

“I know she is,” Amy said with a sigh. “It’s just hard to watch your baby grow up,” she said, smiling slightly.

Sean just smiled back, not really knowing what to say. He wasn’t the most comforting person in the world, not that he would ever want that title. He didn’t easily get close to people, and for whatever reason, he didn’t really care to. He wasn’t into bonding or best friends or any of that. He was just Sean.

“So, what do you have planned today? Another date?” Amy asked in her awkward way of trying to find out who Sean was dating and if it was serious. Sean had his fair share of girlfriends before he went to the reformatory, but he had been 15, so none of them could have been serious, and Amy could tell that he had change a lot over the last three years. He was hard and distant now. He was a man, and she never got to see his transformation.

Sean grinned at her. “Well, we’ll see. I’m going to call her later. She had some thing to do with Max and Liz and them.” Sean answered.

“Oh, so it’s one of Maria’s friends?” Amy asked, perking up for the first time in days. It was the least Sean could do to appease her with some facts. He loved his aunt, and anything to make her smile again was worth giving up.

“Do you know Tess?” he asked, figuring she did.

“Yes, that’s the girl that moved here about a year ago,” Amy said, “She’s very pretty.” She smiled. “Maria didn’t seem to like her much at first.” Amy mentioned, and Sean wasn’t surprised. Maria didn’t like change. He knew that no matter what anyone said, and no matter how much Maria may have changed, getting her there was probably a fight.

“Well, we went out to eat and then watch a movie last night,” Sean said. Of course that was only half true. He hadn’t watched one minute of the movie, and he almost got hard thinking about the intense make-out session that had taken place instead. He was a man of a great deal of self control, but when he thought about kissing Tess, he got a little hot under the collar.

“Oh, sounds fun. So you are going out again?” Amy asked.

“Hopefully.” Sean said. He liked her. She was the coolest girl he’d ever seen come through Roswell, and he wasn’t about to let her go without seeing if they could really make some sparks fly.

“Well, good,” Amy said.

“Yeah, so I think I’m going to go job hunting today,” Sean said, pulling on his jacket.

“You don’t have to do that right away,” Amy said, wanting Sean to know she didn’t expect him to work just because he was home. He’d just gotten out of reformatory. He might need a break.

But Sean didn’t want to be a freeloader, and he didn’t want to sit around the house all the time. He could get stir crazy. He’d had 3 years to be under lock and key. Now that he had freedom he didn’t want to be cooped up in the house. He wanted to live!

*********

Later that night, Sean picked up the phone to call Tess. He’d spent the day putting it off, not wanting to sound to eager, and in the meantime he found a job. He would be the new mechanic’s assistant at Toby’s garage. It wasn’t the greatest job, but he was good with his h ands and it paid pretty well.

He dialed her number and let it ring. It rang several times before Tess answered. “Hello?” she said, her voice somewhat distracted.

“Hey Tess, it’s me Sean.” He said, smiling into the phone.

“Oh hey, Sean. Can I call you back. It’s really not a good time.” She said, and then hung up.

Sean was thrown off guard and kind of stunned for a minute. He clicked his phone closed and shook his head. That was abrupt. He really didn’t know what to make of it.

At The Valenti’s at the same time…

Tess tucked her phone back into her pocket. She didn’t mean to be rude, but Isabel and Jim were both missing, and none of them could get a hold of Michael and Maria. “What do we do, Max?” Liz asked.

“That thing has to be after Laurie. Which means Maria and Michael are in danger,” Alex stated the obvious. He was worried. And not only that, Isabel never came back from the UFO Center.

“I know, I know,” Max said, thinking. “We just have to keep trying to get a hold of them?”

“Where’s my dad?” Kyle asked. Just a day ago he was worried that his dad was going to lose his job, now he might be in real trouble.

“I bet he is with that agent,” Liz said. “Maybe he knows something. Keep trying to call.” Kyle nodded and started calling his dad again.

Finally, after about 10 tries he got through and his dad answered. “DAD!” he cried, “where are you?!”

“Tucson. The queen took over Grant’s body. He let Isabel go, and she is meeting us there.” Jim said.

“Who’s we. What are you talking about?” Kyle asked. His father was being so nonchalant.

“Agent Duff. Look, just stay calm. I’ll call you when this is all over.” Jim said, and clicked the phone shut. Kyle stood there stunned for a minute, then turned to the group.

“Ok,” he started. “I don’t know exactly what happened but dad and Isabel are in Tucson. Apparently, the queen is using Grant, and they are going to help Laurie, Maria, and Michael. He’s going to call us when it’s done.” Kyle explained. None of this even seemed real.

The group waited around, in silence for Jim’s call, and two hours later, they all jumped at the phone rang. “DAD?!” Kyle answered.

Jim explained the them what happened. They had to kill Grant, and Michael was shot, but all in all everyone was ok. Kyle relayed the message, and they all breathed a sigh of relief.

Tess felt for Isabel. She didn’t have anything romantic going with Grant, especially now that she and Alex were getting closer again, but it still had to be hard to kill someone you were kind of close to in order to save the world.

The group quickly dispersed after that, knowing there was nothing more that could be done for that day. The others would be home tomorrow, and until then, all they could do was wait.

After they left Tess sighed and decided to call Sean back. She had been more than rude earlier, and she liked the guy. She knew she wasn’t going to meet someone else that she had that much chemistry with in Roswell.

She dialed the number and waited for him to answer. “Hello, Tess,” he said easily. He was actually very surprised that she not only called back, but called back so quickly. He had to admit that a little insecurity creeped up on him.

“Oh hi,” Tess said, not realizing he would recognize her number. “Look, Sean, I’m so sorry about earlier.” She said. “Kyle and I were trying to find Jim, because he left for Hondo and didn’t tell us.” She said, making up and excuse on the spot. It was half true.

“Oh,” Sean said, “Well, did you find him.” He knew how close Tess was to the sheriff. He couldn’t fault her for being worried about him.

“Yeah. We got a hold of him. I just wanted to say that I’m sorry for being rude earlier.” She said, hoping he would accept her apology.

“Oh, it’s cool.” Sean said. There was no question she was sorry. And all he was really worried about was that she was blowing him off. If that was the case, she wouldn’t have called back. “I was just calling to see if you were doing anything tomorrow night?”

Tess’s lips immediately turned into a smile. “Nope. Why you have something in mind?” She didn’t know where it came from, but every time she was talking to him, a little vixen came out in her.

“I know it’s kind of cheesy, but there is a carnival in Hondo tomorrow night. You want to go?” Hell, he didn’t care where they went as long as he was with her.

“Awww, that sounds like fun!” Tess said, excitedly. Anything to take her mind off all of this drama was well appreciated. Not to mention, it would be the first real, cheesy date she would have ever been on.

“Ok, great.” Sean said. “I’ll pick you up at 6:00 then.”

“Awesome.” Tess said, then with a grin coming to her face she said, “by the way, I had an AMAZING time last night.”

“Me too,” Sean said, having trouble finding his voice.

“Can’t wait until tomorrow.” Tess said.

“Yeah.” Sean said, “Have a good night.”

“You too.” Tess replied before hanging up. Sean swallowed and willing his cock to deflate. Whew. That girl was hot. He didn’t know what it was about her, but everything about her intrigued him.

Tess went to bed with a smile on her face that night. She knew she should still be worried about her friends, but now that she knew they would be ok, all she could think about was Sean. Maybe Roswell wasn’t so bad.

Chapter 6

Tess slipped into the passenger seat of Sean’s Beetle and smiled to herself. “Hey,” Sean started, acting offended. “It gets me from point A to point B.” he reasoned

“I didn’t say a word,” Tess said with a laugh. “It’s very masculine.”

Sean rolled his eyes but smiled at her and pulled out of the driveway. “So, I’ve never been to a carnival.” Tess said, turning toward Sean.

“Really?” he asked surprised. “Well, you aren’t missing much,” he said. “Just a bunch of junk food and cheap rides.”

“You obviously don’t know me very well,” Tess said with a grin. “Because I happen to LOVE junk food, and…cheap rides.” She said, eyeing Sean. She couldn’t believe the seductive things that flew out of her mouth when she was with him. She had basically no experience sexually, but the way she talked when she was around him was all sex-kitten.

Sean swallowed hard but managed to smirk back at her. “Good to know,” he said.

They chatted idly as he drove out of town to the Carnival in the desert. It was a nice night. The first night in weeks that is hadn’t been raining and they both took that as a good sign.

Tess kept conversation pretty light, as she always had to when it came to humans. As much as she liked Sean, she couldn’t let him get close enough to learn her secret. Sean talked about Reformatory and told stories from inside. They both had more in common than they knew.

Tess was in her own, self-imposed prison trying to break free, and Sean has just found his physical freedom. They liked each other, and those two didn’t tend to like anyone. “We’re almost there,” Sean said.

Tess nodded. “So, what is this that Maria keeps talking about you and Liz?” Tess asked, nonchalantly.

“Oh god!” He cried. “When will she get it through her head that not everyone thinks Liz Parker is God’s gift.”

Tess laughed hysterically at that. “Yeah, she’s pretty much worshiped in these parts. Though, I never gave much thought to Maria’s theories about the two of you. First of all, you’ve spent a lot of your time here with me. And secondly, I bet that she isn’t your type. If she is, perhaps you should take me home now.” Tess giggled. She was definitely wasn’t like Liz. Thank God!

“Good to know someone in this town isn’t nuts.” Sean said.

“Oh, don’t worry. Michael and Kyle can’t stand Liz much either.” Tess assured him.

“Also good to know, considering Kyle and I are going to be co-workers,” Sean said parking the car.

“Oh!” Tess said, excitedly. “You’re working at Toby’s?” Sean just nodded and got out of the car, moving to her side to open the door for her. What a gentleman? She hadn’t expected that.

“Shall we?” he said with a smile, taking her hand, intertwining their fingers and leading her to the loud, bright mass of people. Tess’s eyes lit up and she followed him to the festivities.

**********

Sean laughed as Tess finished her second cotton candy. The girl could eat, and he liked that, but he was sure her beautiful teeth would rot out of her head. “So, what’s the ride I HAVE to ride to get the carnival experience?” Tess asked.

“The Scrambler.” He answered, already pulling her to the line.

When they got on board, Tess grabbed Sean’s hand and held on tight. As the ride started, she grinned from ear to ear, unable to stop herself. She screamed, letting herself be free for just a moment.

She had a blast that night at the carnival. She didn’t think she had ever had so much fun in her life. She felt like a kid again. Not that she was ever really able to be a kid, but she got some of that childhood she lost back.

Sean had fun too. He’d never really liked carnivals, but seeing the look of pure, child-like joy on Tess’s face made the night great. She was beautiful when she smiled. He’d never really though of girls as beautiful, but Tess was.

“Do you wanna go back to my house?” she asked, looking up at him.

“Sure,” he said, taking her hand again. It wasn’t long before they were back at the Valenti’s. Sean opened Tess’s door again, and she led him up to the house.

“It’s dark,” he said, noticing that there were no lights on in the house.

“Kyle is at Max and Isabel’s,” Tess explained, “And Jim isn’t back from Hondo yet.”

“Oh,” Sean replied, doing his best to keep his voice unaffected. Tess smiled at him, took his hand and led him into the house, flipping the light on as she went.

“We could watch some TV,” she said, trying to figure out how to make the situation a little less awkward. Sean smiled at her and nodded, sitting on the couch. Tess moved in next to him and picked up the remote.

Seconds passed before the remote and the TV were forgotten and Tess was in Sean’s lap, his lips doing miraculous things to her neck. “Sean,” she breathed his name, and he growled in response, moving up to her lips and kissing her deeply.

His hands were moving up and down her sides seductively as his mouth attacked hers. God it felt good. HE felt good. She felt like she was on fire. The whole amazing night had been leading up to this.

Finally, they pulled apart for air, and Tess rested her forehead against Sean’s. They were both breathing heavily and looked directly into each other’s eyes. “You’re amazing,” Sean said. He didn’t know why he had been so candid, but frankly he didn’t care. This girl was amazing. Smart, funny, sexy, and just jaded enough that he could understand her. Besides, the girl could win a medal in kissing.

“You’re not so bad yourself,” Tess quipped back, though his words actually, truly affected her.

No one had ever looked at her like that. When she was with Nesado, she wasn’t allowed to have friends, let alone boyfriends, and when she got to Roswell everything was about Liz, Maria, or Isabel. She was kind of like leftovers. Sean made her feel sexy, and wanted. She liked that.

She pulled him back to her, and kissed him again. Sean hadn’t felt like this before either. Having been out of the dating pool for almost 3 years, he didn’t get to meet women like Tess. He wondered if he was just hard up for a girl, or if she really was as cool as he thought. He was pretty sure that it was the latter because he was never someone that needed a girl.

He cupped Tess’s face gently and kissed her softly and slowly. “Mmmm,” she moaned as he slowed the pace. He could be such a passionate kisser and at the same time sweet and loving. “I really like you,” she said between kisses. She felt like a moron the minute it escaped her mouth.

But Sean smiled back, “I really like you too,” he said. She looked him in the eye and saw that he was serious. “I’ve never really met a girl like you,” he said, quickly.

Tess smiled. He didn’t know the half of it. “I hope that’s a good thing,” she giggled.

“Oh it is,” he said. “How could someone as cool as you be friends with Maria?” he laughed.

“Give her another chance,” Tess said, shifting on Sean’s lap so she was straddling him. “She’s just intense, as you know. I didn’t like her at first. But her heart is in the right place. He loves her mother, and she is trying to protect herself.” Tess explained.

“From me?” Sean asked.

“You left,” Tess said. “Maria’s had a lot of people leave her in her life. You were one of them. You’re going to have to win her trust back,” Tess said.

Sean smiled back at her. “What do I own you, Dr. Harding?” he said.

“I think we can work something out.” Tess grinned, attacking his mouth again.

Chapter 7

Tess couldn’t help but smile all day the next day at school. She didn’t like to admit it, but Sean had an affect on her. Instead of hating the god-forsaken town she was chained to, she started looking at the bright side of everything. Even Max’s “I’m king!” attitude couldn’t get to her anymore.

“What are you so smiley about?” Kyle asked with a laugh as he waited at her locker.

“What are you talking about?” she asked, feigning complete ignorance.

“Oh come on.” Kyle laughed. “Ever since you and DeLuca have started dating each other, you are like a walking Colgate commercial.”

Tess giggled, unable to stop herself. If she could talk to one person, it would probably be Kyle. She sighed and took him by the arm. “Ok, but you can’t make fun of me or judge me.” She said.

“Scouts honor.” Kyle said holding up two fingers, a cheesy grin on his face.

“Kyle, you were not a boy scout.” Tess countered.

“Was too!” Kyle shot back, getting into his car, Tess slipping in next to him. “I just quit when they wouldn’t let me be the forest ranger.” He laughed.

“You were a strange kid.” Tess said with a roll of the eyes.

“But that’s not the point.” Kyle said, “Now spill. What’s going on with you and DeLuca?”

Tess knew she needed to talk to someone, and Kyle was her best friend, really. Isabel and Maria were great. That’s right, Maria. She had grown to be a loving friend, but she couldn’t really talk about this with them. Isabel would worry about Tess outing them, even though she knew the consequences of that better than anyone. And Maria…well, Maria was definitely not the person to talk to about having serious feelings for Sean.

There was Liz, and she would offer almost robot-like, good advice, as she had no soul, but Tess was pretty sure she would rather spend an eternity in the White Room than have to discuss anything of depth with Liz Parker. Michael was out, by way of Maria. And Max cared only about Max, so he was not so good with the heart to heart talks.

“Ok,” Tess said, turning to look at Kyle. “Sean and I have been out on 3 dates now.” She said.

“I know this,” Kyle said, motioning for her to continue.

“I like him,” Tess said, finally. “I mean I really like him.” She said.

“Well, I can tell he likes you.” Kyle said, pulling into their driveway. He and Tess got out and made their way to the door.

“What do you mean, you can tell?” Tess asked.

“No guy is going to take a girl to the carnival unless he really likes you.” Kyle said. “Besides that, he knows that once Maria discovers you are together, he’s going to have to have his balls reattached.” Kyle laughed.

Tess smiled at that. That was true. “Speaking of that,” she said, “I wonder if we should tell her. I mean, it’s only a matter of time until she finds out.” Tess reasoned.

“Well, how serious are you guys?” Kyle asked, flopping down on the couch.

Tess sat next to him and bit her lips. “That’s the thing. I don’t know. It’s complicated. I mean, how do I know he doesn’t see this as casual dating. I’ve never been allowed to date, so I don’t really know what its like. And it’s not like I can get too close to him. The alien thing is going to be a problem.” Tess said.

“Tess, you have to stop worrying about all that. I mean, just because you are an alien, and betrothed to Max doesn’t mean it gets to run your life. You can have a good time, and meet people. It doesn’t mean you have to be like, ‘Hi, I’m Tess and and Alien Queen.’” Kyle laughed.

Tess punched him good naturedly. “I know that, Kyle. And I have been having fun. It’s almost better that he doesn’t know. I get to be a normal teenager, which is something that I will never take for granted, but lets say we move things a few steps further.” Tess said.

‘What do you mean?” Kyle asked.

“Sex, Kyle.” Tess huffed. “What if we are together, you know exclusively, and we decided to have sex. I mean, we can barely keep our hands off each other now. I’ve heard Maria and Michael talk about it, and I’m pretty sure Sean will have a few questions afterwards.” Tess explained.

Kyle couldn’t believe he was having this conversation with Tess. She was like his sister. But he also knew she had legitimate concerns and if she was ever going to be happy, he would have to walk her through them. These aliens were not exactly self-sufficient. “Look, you can cross that bridge when you get to it. And you could always talk to Maria about what exactly alien sex feels like, so maybe you could come up with a back story. Who knows? First of all, I think you and Sean should talk about where you stand. Because it’s pointless to even worry about it, if this is all just casual.” Kyle explained.

“Do you think it is?” Tess asked, looking at him closely.

“Personally, no. I remember Sean when he used to live here and he dates a LOT of girls. But he was different then. The way he is when he comes here to the house and takes you out is not at all the way he was back then. I can tell that he really likes you. Maybe he’s wondering the same thing you are about weather this is serious or not.” Kyle said.

“Yeah,” Tess said, more to herself than Kyle. “So, I should talk to him. Then if it’s serious, we will cross the bridge that is Maria.” She laughed.

“Good luck with that one.” Kyle snorted.

“Oh shut up!” Tess said, throwing a pillow off the couch at him.

************

It was really now or never, Tess thought as she paced the living room. Sean was on the way over to watch movies, and she knew she had to talk to him. It felt stupid bringing up the subject of their relationship when technically this would only be their fourth date, but she had to know. She was starting to really fall for Sean, and while she knew that was impossible, she couldn’t help how she felt.

There was a knock on the door and Tess let out a deep breath before opening it, inviting a smiling Sean into the room. “We have to talk,” Tess blurted out, not in the mood for subtle at the moment.

Sean sort of laughed before moving into the living room and placing both hands in his back pocket. “Ummm, should I be worried?” he asked, looking up at her through his lashes.

“No,” Tess said, quickly pulling one of his hands out of his pocket and leading him to the couch. “It’s nothing like that,” she said. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before continuing.

“I’m not one to talk about my feelings or get girly over things, so I’m just going to ask this, and you just give me an honest answer.” Tess said, looking up at him finally.

“Ok, shoot.” Sean said, leaning back and pulling her to him.

“Are we boyfriend and girlfriend?” Tess asked, internally cringing as as the words escaped her mouth. God, she sounded like an idiot.

Sean’s smile grew wider as he watched how uncomfortable she was. Damn she was cute. She sobered up as she glared back up at him. “Well, I kind of thought so,” he said, “Why is there someone else?” he was pretty sure there wasn’t, but he couldn’t help but wonder.

“No!” Tess almost screeched. Her face broke into a smile. “I just wanted to make sure that you were thinking the same thing I was. I know we don’t know each other very well, but I really like you.” She said. It was the most he was going to get out of her, and he was pleased.

“Well, I really like you too,” he said, leaning down and placing a chaste kiss on her lips.

“So, it’s probably time to go public,” Tess said. Kyle already knew about them, Max knew they went out once but other than that, she’d been keeping the whole thing to herself. She kind of liked it that way, but she also knew they weren’t really official until everyone know. Including Maria.

“You mean, we should tell Maria.” Sean sighed.

“Oh, come on,” Tess grinned, “It won’t be that bad. Besides, I’m going to be the one to tell her because I think she still hasn’t forgiven you yet.”

“Yeah, ok.” Sean said, looking down at his feet. “So, now that we are going steady,” he laughed at himself, “wanna go to my favorite spot in town?”

Tess wondered if his spot was kinky, but decided that Sean may be smooth, but he wasn’t that confident. She smiled and said, “Lead the way.”

*********

“The bowling ally!?” Tess cried through her laughter. Sean jimmied the lock and let them inside.

“Hey!” He returned, offended. “This is the best place in town.” He said. Tess just smiled and followed him inside.

“You know, we are committing a felony,” she said, but was not too worried about getting caught. No one in that god-forsaken town was awake anyway.

“Well, I wont tell, if you wont,’ he said pulling her to him. His mouth descended on hers and she nearly moaned as his tongue passed her lips and swept across her mouth.

Finally, they pulled apart, but Tess held him close. “So, you gonna teach me how to bowl?” she asked.

“You’ve never been bowling?” Sean asked, as if the thought of someone living to be 17 and never bowling was the most absurd thing he could contemplate. “You’ve never been to a carnival, you’ve never been bowling…” he trailed off.

“Hey, I lived a sheltered life,” she laughed. Little did he know. “My dad never really let me do normal teenage things,” she explained, though it was only half the truth, it was close enough.

“Where is he, anyway?” Sean asked, picking balls for both of them.

“Iraq I think,” Tess answered, idly. She really wanted to get off this topic. She hated lying to him, but he couldn’t know the truth. She didn’t know him well enough, besides, she liked the fact that he didn’t know he dirty little secrets. She could be a normal teenager with him.

“That must suck,” Sean said, pulling her back to his front and placing her in the stance she needed to hit the ball down the only lit ally in the room.

“It’s not that bad.” Tess said with a shrug. “Besides, I love the sheriff and It’s nice to have a real family, you know?” Tess asked.

Sean did know. His family was also surrogate, but he knew they were all he had.

Tess followed his motions and let the ball go…right into the gutter. “I suck!” she exclaimed, swinging her arms in defeat.

“No, no one is good at this on the first try. It’s an acquired skill,” Sean said, haughtily as he chucked the ball down the all and hit a strike. The smug look on his face was enough to make Tess erupt in fits of giggles.

Tess had to admit, she had a great time bowling. And with all the kissing and touching they did in the midst of it, she could never think of it as childish again. She felt alive, like she had never felt before. Sean did that to her.

When he dropped her off at her house that night, it was extremely late, but Jim had never really enforced a curfew, and she was just not ready to let Sean go yet. “So…” she said, smiling up at him as he pulled her to him by the loops of her jeans.

“So…” he breathed against her lips before kissing her.

“Mmmm,” she moaned, smiling against his skin. She kissed him back, wrapping her arms around him and pulling him closer to her. “So, be ready for battle tomorrow,” she said between kisses.

“Why?” he asked. She was talking too much. He loved it.

“I’m talking to Maria tomorrow,” she said, pulling away long enough to gage his reaction.

“Goody for me,” he laughed. “But forget about her right now,” he said attacking her mouth once again.

******

“Hey, Maria, can I talk to you for a sec?” Tess asked the next night. The gang was gathered at the Evans’ house for ‘movie night’ and people were just starting to leave.

“Sure what’s up?” Maria bounced toward her. Tess led her into the kitchen before she continued. “Girl, you’re starting to freak me out?” Maria said.

Tess nervously smiled at her. “I wanted to tell you something.” Tess said.

“Ok…” Maria said, looking at her intently.

“Sean and I have been sort of dating for the last couple of weeks,” Tess blurted out. She had planned a whole speech, but she didn’t stick to it.

“What?” Maria asked, her brows knitting in confusion.

Tess sighed and explained. “When he got to town, he kind of asked me out, and I accepted. We’ve been sort of seeing each other. It’s starting to get serious. I wanted to tell you, but you don’t like him much and…” she didn’ really know how to explain what she was trying to say.

“I’ll kill him.” Maria said, her eyes darkening with rage.

“No!” Tess said, “I like him.” She said lamely.

“Tess, you don’t understand. He leaves. He left us and we are family.” Maria said, tears coming to her eyes, but she was doing a good job of trying to hide them.

“Maria, he’s different.” Tess said, she knew she didn’t know him before, but the man she knew would never leave his family.

“I just don’t want you to get hurt,” Maria said…like me, she wanted to add.

“Maria, please talk to him. He really wants to form a relationship with you. He’s older now, and he loves you and your mom. Just please don’t let his stupid 15 year old self be the only person you are willing to recognize.” Tess said, placing a hand on Maria’s shoulder.

Her friend sighed and nodded in response. “Promise me one thing,” Maria said. “Please don’t keep things from me again.” She said, her voice soft. Tess just looked at her as she went on. “I thought we were getting closer. I mean, I love Lizzy, but she’d kind of into her own thing and Max all the time. And Isabel is just so…perfect.” Maria laughed. “I guess what I’m trying to say is, I care about you, and I don’t want you to think we aren’t friends who can talk about things.” Maria confessed.

Tess’s smile grew 10 feet wide as she pulled Maria into a hug. “No, I know exactly what you mean.” She said. “Now you promise me you will talk to Sean.”

“Ok,” Maria smiled and the two of them joined their friends.

A/N: Sorry I haven’t been keeping up with my stories. School’s been crazy, but I think that I’m finally back into my routine. Thank you for your patience!

Chapter 8

“Mmm,” Tess moaned against Sean’s mouth a couple of nights later. They were sitting in his car in the middle of the desert somewhere on 285 South. It wasn’t the most comfortable place on the earth, but they couldn’t go to Tess’s because Jim was there. After the court ruled he was an unfit Sheriff, he had been spending a lot of time at home. And they couldn’t go to the DeLuca’s because Maria and Amy were having one of their famous “pie baking” nights.

Sean was in heaven with Tess in his arms. He had never really felt like this with anyone else. Tess got him in a way no one else did. Maybe it was the absent parents, or the new kid in town mentality, but they were connected. “Tess,” he breathed against her neck.

Tess was getting hotter and hotter and the fact that she really wanted to have sex with Sean sort of freaked her out. Sure, she had needs that she met by herself late at night, but she had never really had the strong desire to make love to anyone in real life. It was too dangerous. She couldn’t let people that close and she was beginning to realize that she wanted Sean that close. It scared and thrilled her at the same time. However, she knew she needed to suppress her hormones because she wasn’t going to give him her virginity that easily, and she certainly didn’t think that she was ready to answer any questions Sean might have about his hour long orgasm.

“Sean,” she said, pulling away slightly. “I think we better stop.”

Sean frowned at her for a moment, “I’m not pushing you to far am I?” he asked, noticing his hand was dangerously high up her thigh.

“No,” she assured him, shaking her head. “I just need some time.” She said. “I’m not ready to…” she didn’t want to finish the sentence because she already felt stupid enough.

“There’s no rush,” Sean said. If only his boys could hear him now. But the truth was he meant it. Tess meant something to him in a way no other girl ever had. If she wasn’t ready he could wait. It was just going to be a lot of cold showers and one on one time with Rosy Palm until she was ready. And truth be told, they had only been together for 3 weeks.

Tess smiled and kissed him on the cheek. “Thank you, Sean.” She smiled. “But I probably ought to get back home. Jim actually knows when I’m gone now.” She laughed.

“How is he doing, after losing his job?” Sean asked, shifting into reverse.

“You know, I know he is upset but he won’t let me or Kyle see him that way. He just keeps throwing himself into projects. He’s been making baseball bats for 2 days straight,” she laughed. It really wasn’t a laughing matter, but she didn’t really want to dwell on the fact that it was “her kind” that lost him his job in the first place. He was the only man who had ever really taken an interest in her like a father, and she’d come to really love him.

This did not go unnoticed by Sean. With as many daddy issues as he had, he knew Tess had a special place is Tess’s heart, and seeing him down and out hurt her in ways she would not express. As much as they liked each other, he knew she was still closed off to him in many ways. He just hoped, with time, he could break down whatever barriers she had placed around herself. It wasn’t like she wouldn’t have her work cut out for her too. He wasn’t exactly an open book, and he knew it.

************

Las Vegas. Tess could really use a vacation to Las Vegas, and if Michael and Max were bringing Maria and Liz, then she should be able to go too, right? But, as she knew, Michael and Maria would probably be up each other’s ass and Max would be mooning over Liz, probably planning their Elvis themed wedding. So, she invited herself as well as Kyle.

She knew Michael was pissed, but it didn’t matter because she didn’t plan to spend a great deal of time with him. Ever since they saved Laurie in Tucson, Michael had been a little off, even to Maria.

She decided to call Sean so he knew where she was before they boarded the plan. “Hey,” he answered, his voice always sounding sexy when he answered the phone.

Tess smiled immediately. “Hey, babe.” She said, becoming more comfortable with terms of endearment. “I just wanted to let you know that the gang and I are taking an impromptu trip to Vegas.” She giggled when Sean nearly choked on whatever he was drinking.

“You’re what?” he asked.

“We are going to Vegas. We all need a break from school. But I wanted you to know we will be back tomorrow night, so if anyone asks, cover for us.” Tess said.

“Ok, well have a good time,” Sean smiled. “You’re a very bad girl.” He almost growled.

Tess giggled like a school girl before she could help herself. “Yes, I am.”

“Don‘t do anything I wouldn’t do,” Sean said.

“Ok, I’ll see you later.” Tess replied before hanging up the phone.

“Who was that?” Max asked in a gruff voice behind her.

“Sean,” Tess said, defiantly looking him in the eye.

“Tess, I thought we talked about this.” Max said, as if he were talking to a stupid child.

“And I thought I told you it was none of your business.” Tess said simply as she brushed past him.

**************

She couldn’t believe it. Fucking Liz Parker. That goody-goody bitch just had to tell the security guard that they were 17. Tess had half a mind to leave Liz in the damn arcade and mindwarp her way into the casino anyway. But she thought better of it, knowing it wasn’t really safe to leave Liz alone. That dumb bitch would get herself into some kind of trouble and then it would be her fault and king Max would be more pissed than he was already.

“You know, I could always get us in the a mindwarp,” she offered after about 300 games of pin-ball.

“No, I think I’d rather stay here and not commit a crime,” Liz said, in a smug tone.

“Of course,” Tess said, under her breath. “Fine, well I think I’m going to go up the the room.”

“I’m fine here.” Liz said, curtly.

“I bet you are,” Tess breathed, rolling her eyes and turning on her heel toward the elevator. She hoped Liz was okay, but frankly she couldn’t hang out with her anymore. Now she wasn’t even in the mood to gamble.

When she entered her bedroom, she plopped down on the bed and pulled out her cell phone. It was a little late, but she was sure Sean was awake so she called. “I’m surprised you are calling me.” Sean said as he picked up the phone.

“This sucks!” she whined lying back on the bed.

“Aww,” Sean laughed, “not having any fun?” he asked.

“They won’t let me in,” she huffed. “Apparently I look like a 10 year old, because Liz and I were spotted immediately.”

Sean laughed, “Well, not 10. You look…13 at least!”

“Shut up!” Tess said, a smile creeping across her lips.

“It’s just a good thing I like jailbait,” Sean joked.

“Really…Is that so, Mr. DeLuca.” Tess replied. She loved how they still flirted even though they were together exclusively.

“Yep, so once you start to look your age I’ll have to ask you to hit the curb.” Sean said, getting more comfortable in his own bed.

“Well, anyway. Liz pissed me off, so I decided to just come back to the room and call you.” Tess sighed.

“Oh god, what did she do?” Sean asked. He already wondered how someone a kick back and chill as Tess ended up hanging out with that tight ass Liz Parker.

“Nothing.” Tess sighed, “It’s just that condescending attitude.” She answered. “But I didn’t call to talk about Liz. What are you going?” she asked.

“Nothing.” Sean answered honestly. With Tess out of town, he really didn’t have anything to do. “I’m just laying in bed.”

“Ohhh, sexy,” Tess purred. “Me too.” She added.

Sean couldn’t help the reaction that stirred in is groin just thinking about her laying on some cheesy hotel bed in Las Vegas. “What’s the room like?” he asked, finding his voice again.

“It’s amazing!” Tess said, “That money left to Michael really did some nice things for us. There’s a huge flat screen TV, all the extra channels, 4 bedrooms, a bar…everything!” Tess said excitedly.

“All the channels, hmmm,” Sean said with a chuckle. “Have you been checking out the porn?” he laughed, knowing very well that Tess had NOT checked out the porn channels.

Tess’s breath hitched at the thought of watching porn with Sean. God, when did she get this horny! “No,” she said, biting her lip before continuing. “But I could…” she didn’t know why she said it, but having Sean on the phone, she actually liked the thought of watching porn. Not that she had ever watched it. As much as she flirted, she didn’t really know much about sex but the actual mechanics.

Sean’s eyes nearly bugged out of his head. He had not expected that, but damn…the thought of Tess watching porn with him on the phone…he wasn’t going to turn that down. “Do you want to watch some porn?” he asked, his voice getting husky.

“Maybe,” Tess said, shyly, but she was already getting up off the bed and moving into the main room of the suite. “Let me lock the door.”

Sean bit his lip, knowing she was getting ready to watch some hot and heavy porn with him. He didn’t know if he was going to be able to control himself. His cock was rock hard and he hadn’t even touched himself.

Tess sat down on the couch and flipped the TV on. “I don’t want to sound stupid, but I’ve never…I mean…” she wanted to die as the words kept spilling out of her mouth.

“It’s ok, if you don’t like it, you can always turn it off,” Sean assured her, but he hoped to God she liked it.

Tess nodded to herself and flipped through the minute. “What about Sexy Sadie?” Tess asked, not really knowing which one to pick.

“Sounds good to me,” Sean said, barely able to breath.

“Ok, here goes.” Tess said, clicking enter and getting comfortable. The others would be back to the room for hours, so she was pretty sure she was safe.

“Oh wow,” she breathed, when she noticed the very first image that flashed across the screen was a woman with huge boobs being fucked from behind.

“Tell me what you see, baby.” Sean breathed, closing his eyes to get an image of Tess watching porn.

“Umm,” Tess started, a little unsure of herself. “There’s this girl, she’s blond and tan, and this guy is there, wearing overalls. They are talking about plumbing,” she laughed.

“Yeah, they always start out with some stupid storyline to explain why the people are about to get together,” Sean explained.

“Watch a lot of porn, do you?” Tess asked, cocking an eyebrow.

“Ummm,” Sean laughed, “Will I get in trouble for the truth?”

“No, I don’t care,” Tess answered honestly. “Oh, so now they are kissing, and the clothes are coming off.” She said, her attention focused on the screen in front of her.

“Mmm,” Sean moaned, before he could stop himself.

Tess smiled at his reaction and continued to commentate. “He’s got his hands on her breasts and she is straddling his waste.” Tess said, her breath getting a little shallower. “OMG!” she cried as the man’s penis came into view.

“What?” Sean asked, his interest piqued.

“His…his penis is HUGE!” she said. Sean smiled at her innocence. Tess wondered his Sean was that big. If he was, she was sure she would never walk again if they had sex.

“What are they doing now?” Sean questioned, letting his hand roam to his stomach.

“She’s on her knees, sucking his cock,” she said, her voice barely audible. Hearing her talk like that only made Sean hotter. “I don’t know how she fits in all in her mouth,” she said, feeling unsure about her own abilities.

“It’s just for the movie. Most guys don’t expect a girl to do that.” Sean assured her.

“They are moaning and he has his hands in her hair.” Tess said, her eyes glued to the screen. This was incredibly hot, she had to admit. No wonder Kyle owned so much porn.

Sean could hear her breath coming out in pants and he allowed himself to slowly stroke his cock. She didn’t have to know, but his erection was becoming painful.

“Now, he’s fucking her from behind,” Tess nearly squeaked.

Sean threw his head back and bit his lip. God, he was hard. “Do you like it?” he asked, his voice raged with desire.

“Yes…” Tess almost hissed leaning further into the couch.

“Are you wet?” Sean asked, hoping he wasn’t pushing her too hard.

Tess’s heart skipped a beat, but she moved her hand up her skirt and felt the wetness of her panties. “Yes,” she almost moaned.

“Oh God, Tess,” Sean growled at the thought of her, horny and on the phone with him.

“Are you..hard?” Tess asked.

“Yes,” Sean answered, “I’m touching myself,” he offered, trying to make her feel more comfortable.

“Really?” Tess asked. She’d never done anything like this before, obviously. “Do you want me to?” she asked.

“Only if you want to,” Sean replied.

“Ok, hold on.” Tess said, as she laid down fully on the couch. She looked back at the screen and noticed that the woman was riding the man now. “Ok, the woman is on top now.” She explained.

“Mmm,” Sean moaned fully now. “Touch yourself.”

Tess moved her fingers inside her panties and bit her lips as she felt how wet she actually was. She wasn’t sure if it was the porn or talking to Sean or both, but she’d never been this turned on in her life. “Feels good,” she breathed as she brushed her fingers across her clit.

“God, you’re hot,” Sean moaned, stroking himself a little faster. “I wish you were here.”

“Mmm, me too,” Tess moaned, slowly building the pressure in her loins. “I wish you were touching me.”

“Oh fuck,” Sean moaned. He was close. He didn’t want to look like an ass, coming after only 5 minutes, but he couldn’t help it. This was the best phone sex he’d ever had.

“Oh!” Tess almost shouted. “I’m think I’m going to come soon,” she informed him.

“Me too, baby, don’t stop.” Sean moaned fucking himself harder and faster.

“Oh yes! AHHHHH!” Tess cried into the phone, her body quaking around her.

“TESSS!” Sean moaned, coming right behind her.

“Whew,” Tess breathed, trying to catch her breath.

“Yeah,” Sean replied in the same state of exhaustion.

“I’m tired,” Tess said with a yawn.

Sean chuckled, “Me too, but I think you better turn off the porn and make it back to your bed first. We can go to sleep together.”

Tess couldn’t help but grin at the sweetness of his proposition. She unlocked the door and moved into her bedroom. “Ok,” she said kicking her skirt off and pulling her shirt over her head. She snuggled under the covers and said, “I’m in bed.”

Sean cleaned up the mess he’s made and got into bed as well. “Night night, baby.” He said.

“Night,” Tess replied half asleep already. Sean listened to her sleep for a few minutes and then hung up the phone, a smile on his face as he let himself give into the recesses of slumber.

Chapter 9

After Jim cut the groups Vegas Vacation short, he threatened Kyle and Tess with groundings, but never really followed through. After a few days, he calmed down and accepted that, with all the stress the group had been under, a vacation was in order even if they had left without telling him.

Things were getting back to normal though. The trip to Vegas seemed to mend the broken relationship between Max and Michael, and Michael’s spirits had been up since they returned home. Tess was glad for that. She liked Michael, even though he could be a little rough around the edges, but when he was in a mood, no one could handle him but Maria.

Max and Liz were still pretending that they weren’t head-over-heels for each other, and as sickening as it was, it was rather funny. They only think keeping them apart was Liz’s absurd notion that Tess and Max were destined to be together. She was such a martyr. Tess would have rather walked through fire a thousand times than even consider spending eternity with Max Evans. But conflict is what that relationship thrived on, so Tess let them have it. She was happy with Sean, and little else mattered.

Weeks passed and the two of them grew closer with each day. When Tess wasn’t at school or with the gang on ‘alien business,’ she was with Sean. She never knew she could feel that way about someone. He got her, even though he didn’t know everything about her, in a way that no one ever had. She figured a lot of it had to do with the fact that they had always been the outsiders. Never truly wanted, and never truly understood.

Sean was falling head-over-heels in love with Tess and he was all too aware of it. Normally that would have been cause to run far away, but he didn’t want to. For the first time, He didn’t want to be anywhere but Roswell, or with anyone but Tess.

Spring was in full swing and the ‘I-know-an-alien’ club lived in relative calm after the gandarium scare. Finally, Tess was able to throw herself into her relationship with Sean, and the truth was, she sometimes forgot she even was an alien. She didn’t want to think about it, because then she would have to think about the fact that she was lying to the man that she was falling for.

They were at the DeLuca’s on Sean’s couch bed, kissing each other senseless. They were laying down, Tess draped over Sean, heatedly pawing at one another. “Mmmm, Sean?” she asked, her eyes still half closed as she broke their kiss.

“Yeah?” he asked, trying to capture her lips in his again, but she kept just out of his reach.

“Will you go to prom with me?” Tess asked, looking at him in the eyes. She knew he would probably rather die than go to a stupid High School prom, but she wanted to go. She wanted to be a typical teenager and typical teenagers went to prom.

Sean’s eyes darted up to look at hers. Prom? God, that was so not his thing. Besides, he couldn’t. But he could tell she really wanted to go, and he sure as hell didn’t want her to go with someone else. “I can’t,” Sean said, pulling away slightly. “I’m not allowed at the school.” He explained.

Tess smiled at him. “Jim talked to Hanson. He said it would be okay if you came to prom with me. They could make an exception.”

Sean chuckled at her. She’d done her homework. “I’ll go to prom with you, baby.” He finally said, pulling her closer.

Tess grinned at him and pulled him into another kiss. “Thanks,” she said, “And I promise, we won’t have to get a cheesy limo with Maria and Michael or anything.” She laughed.

Sean hadn’t even thought about that, but he was damned lucky to have met a girl who wouldn’t make him do something that lame because she would have that it was equally as lame. “Now, where were we?” he asked, a smile crossing his face as he pulled her down on top of him and attacked her mouth.

They hadn’t moved past kissing and touching, but both of them were finding it harder to stop themselves. Sean didn’t want to push Tess too far too fast, and Tess was still a little nervous about taking the leap into sexual intimacy. She wanted it, and she was positive that Sean was the person she wanted to lose her virginity to. Though, blocking the flashes from him was proving to be hard enough already, if they had sex, she didn’t know how long she could hide them from him.

Sean was panting against her, his breath hot against the exposed skin of her neck. She ground herself into him without knowing it, and he groaned in response. “Did I hurt you?’ Tess breathed.

“No, don’t stop.” Sean said, unable to string a sentence together. The sensations filling his body were more intense than any sex he’d ever had.

Tess kissed him with more fervor as she tangled her fingers in his hair and pushed herself into him with need. “Mmm, Sean…” she moaned, breaking the kiss to throw her head back. She was close to coming and he wasn’t even touching her intimately.

Sean kissed a column down her neck as he played with the hair at the base of her neck. He knew she was close and he wanted to watch her come, even if he couldn’t be inside her. He shifted his hips so his hard cock, beneath his jeans, hit her clit each time she bucked into him.

“Oh God, Sean!” she moaned, her eyes clenching shut as her body shock with the convulsions of her orgasm. It wasn’t as intense as the ones she gave herself late at night, but it was far more satisfying. If they ever had sex, she didn’t know how she would handle it.

She collapsed on top of him, her release making her entire body tired. Sean just reveled in the feeling of her warm body against his, even if they were both completely clothed. He hadn’t dry humped a girl since junior high school, but this was nothing like that. He knew, as he watched Tess come undone above him, that he was in love with Tess. He’d never felt the emotion before, but he knew this was it.

He smiled when he heard her breath even out and light snores escape her. “Baby,” he whispered in her ear as he shook her awake.

“Hmmm?” Tess replied, half awake.

“You have to get up.” Sean chuckled. “As much as I’d love for you to stay, the last thing I need is the former sheriff to have it out for me for keeping you out all night.”

Tess sighed and rolled off of him. “Okay,” she said. “But will you drive me? I’m too tired. I’ll pick up the car tomorrow.”

“Yeah, Let’s go.” Sean said, kissing her cheek as they both got up.

********

“So, who are you going to the prom with?” Tess asked Kyle. Max and Liz decided to go together, though they claimed it was a ‘just friends’ situation. Maria and Michael were obviously going together, that was, if Michael pulled his head out of his ass about the dancing thing. Isabel and Alex were going together because Isabel HAD finally pulled her head out of HER ass and realized that she was in love with the kid.

“Not going,” Kyle said, as he flipped through the channels on television.

“Not going?’ Tess asked. “Why not?”

“Well, for one, I don’t have a date. All my friends have dates that they will be all lovey-dovey with all night. Secondly, I went last year and it was lame.” Kyle said with a snort. Tess had to admit she felt a little bad for Kyle. Ever since he’d been brought into the alien conspiracy, his social circle had kind of dwindled.

“Hey,” He said, looking up at her as she frowned. “Don’t worry about it.” He knew what she was thinking. “It’s fine, really. I’d rather have a few friends that care about me than a massive amount of friends that only care if I can score a touchdown.” He said. And it was true. He’d found his niche, and he was truly happy.

“Okay,” Tess said, “But you are going to have to find somewhere else to go for the night, cause Sean and I are coming back here,” she said, darting her eyes. Jim was going to be staying at the DeLuca’s after the prom, and she figured prom night was the perfect time to take things to the next level with Sean.

“Oh really…” Kyle said, intrigued. “Very interesting…”

“Oh, shut up, Kyle!” Tess laughed as she smacked him on the arm. “Now, give me the remote.”

Chapter 10

Sean actually was a good dancer. Tess would be lying if she said she wasn’t surprised. He didn’t strike her as the dancing kind and she bet the boy’s reformatory didn’t host many dances. He held her with a secure, yet gentle, touch that made her feel like she was walking on air. She’d never felt like this before.

“Tess, can I ask you something?” Sean asked, pulling back to look her in the eyes as they were dancing to a slow song.

“Yeah,” Tess said, wrinkling her brow in confusion.

“Did you and Max ever…” Sean started, but didn’t feel the need to finish his sentence. Max had been giving him the evil eye all night, and if he was being honest, he’d always gotten a strange vibe from that guy.

Tess sighed and looked over to Max and Liz who were dancing across the gym floor. Sure enough Max was staring them down like a jealous lover. “No, Sean,” she said, turning her gaze back to him. “Max is just…” she didn’t know how to put into words her relationship with Max. It’s not like she could say, ‘He’s my former husband from a different life on a different planet.’

“I mean, it’s cool if you did date.” Sean quickly said. “It’s just, he kind of freaks me out. And I don’t want to make trouble, you know. I’m on probation as it is.”

Tess pulled out of his arms and shot him a disgusted look. “What are you saying, Sean? That because Max has some strange fascination with me, you just want to walk away?” She didn’t want to think that was what he meant, but it sure sounded like it. It wasn’t her fault that Max wanted to have Liz and keep her on a short leash as well.

“No, baby!” Sean cried out, pulling her back to him. “That’s not what I mean. I just want to know what I’m dealing with.” He explained. “So, I can be prepared.”

Tess’s features softened and she smiled slightly at him as she let him wrap his arms back around her. “Sean, don’t worry about it. I don’t know why Max is the way he is, but the bottom line is that he is in love with Liz. He’s just controlling over his friends. He won’t make trouble, he will just hope his intensity will make you run away.” She explained.

“Well, I’m not going anywhere.” Sean said, as he lowered his lips to Tess’s, kissing her lightly on the lips. Tess’s heart soared as she let herself melt into the man that had become so important to her over the past months. She felt girly, and for the first time, that didn’t bother her.

She deepened the kiss for just a second before realizing they were still standing in the middle of the gym. She looked around and spotted all of her friends. Isabel and Alex were dancing cheek to cheek as she laughed at something funny he said. Michael and Maria were dancing, poorly, on the other side of the gym. She smiled at them. It was nice to see her friends finally finding a little happiness. Max and Liz were still dancing, and Max was still staring in their direction.

“Do you wanna get out of here?” Tess asked, her voice more husky than she expected.

Sean visibly gulped at the implication. “Yeah,” he breathed, trying to keep his pulse under control. He wrapped his arms around her from behind and followed her out of the gym into the hallway.

Within seconds they were stopped by Max running to them. “Where are you going?” Max asked, his eyes on Tess.

“Home,” Tess sighed as she kept walking, pulling Sean with her. Max moved in next to her and pulled her aside.

“What do you mean, you are going home?” Max asked, his voice raising with every syllable. He knew exactly what Tess had planned for this evening, and he was not willing to let it go down.

“Hey, get off her,” Sean growled pushing him away and pulling Tess behind him.

“I’m going home, with Sean.” Tess said defiantly, as she stared Max in the eyes.

“Don’t do anything stupid, Tess.” Max nearly barked as he looked at both of them with disgust. Tess just rolled her eyes and pulled Sean out the door with her.

“You’re sure you never dated,” Sean asked, holding her close to him.

“Yeah, I’m sure,” Tess said. “Let’s just forget about Max, okay?” she said, slipping into Sean’s passenger seat as he moved into the driver’s seat.

“Deal,” Sean said, smiling back at her as he headed to the Valenti’s house. Tess couldn’t believe how cool he was being about all of this. She was so lucky to have fallen for a guy who wasn’t always on edge. It was freeing.

When they got to her house, she took his hand in hers as she lead him into the house. She was nervous, but she knew she wasn’t making a mistake. She just hoped her secret was still safe as she gave herself to Sean for the first time.

Sean was equally as nervous. Sure, he’d been with girls before, several in fact, but he knew this was Tess’s first time. He also knew that he cared about Tess far more than he’d ever cared about anyone in his life, except Maria and Amy.

When they reached her room, she shut the door behind them and looked up at Sean. “Tess, we don’t have to…” he started, sensing the fear in her eyes.

“No,” Tess said, smiling and shushing him with her index finger. “I want this. I’m just a little nervous.” She admitted with a nervous laugh.

“Don’t be,” Sean said. “I’m nervous enough for the both of us.” His honesty warmed her heart and calmed her nerves. She took his hand in hers and led him to her bed where they sat down next to each other. She reached up and placed her hand on his cheek as she pulled him toward her for a kiss.

He deepened the kiss immediately as he pulled her closer to him, running his fingers through her unruly hair. “Tess…” he sighed into her as she wiggled closer to him.

His kisses just drove Tess on. She was nervous, but the more he kissed her the more she knew she wanted him more than ever. “Can…can you take your shirt off?” she asked, as she pulled away and looked Sean in the eyes. Her eyes were adjusting in the dark and she could see him fully now.

He nodded slowly as Tess pushed his jacket off his shoulders and he deftly unbuttoned the shirt he was wearing. Tess’s breath hitched as she saw his chest come into view, and she pushed his shirt off of him as well.

Sean blushed under her gaze and marveled at the fact that this girl could have such an effect on him. He was head over heels for her and he wanted her to know that. He pulled her to him, cupping her cheeks, and looked into her eyes. “Tess, I want to tell you something.”

“I already know you’ve had sex before,” she grinned at him.

“Not that,” Sean chuckled, “I want you to know that I love you.” He said, trying to sound as confident as he could, even if he was terrified that she wouldn’t return his very real feelings.

Tess’s mouth dropped open. She hadn’t expected that, and while she had hoped his feelings ran as deeply as hers, it felt somewhat of a betrayal for her to continue to lie to him even after he expressed his love for her. She rationalized it was for his own safety as she pushed herself into his lap, straddling his thighs. “Sean, I love you too.” She said.

It was the truth. She did love him. One day, she hoped she could share all of her dark and dirty secrets, but for now she could comfort herself by the fact that they loved each other, and she knew that was all that mattered anyway.

Sean breathed a sigh of relief and pulled her mouth back down to his, hungrily kissing her with all he had. His hands moved down her sides and around to the zipper of her dress which she let slid down her torso.

Tess was still a little nervous about being naked in front of Sean. She knew it was stupid because he’d expressed, more than once, how sexy he thought she was. “You’re beautiful,” he replied as he removed her bra from her shoulders. It was like he could read her mind and knew exactly what she needed to hear.

She wrapped her arms tightly around him as she maneuvered to get her dress completely off of her. She gained a little more confidence and moved her hands to the waistband of his pants. His breath quickened as she unbuttoned and unzipped him and he shifted his hips for her to pull his pants off of him.

When he was only in his boxers, he flipped them over so he was pressing Tess into the mattress as his body covered hers. “Sean…” she breathed, spreading her legs to settle between them. She could feel him, hard, against her and she couldn’t help bucking her hips in hopes of relieving the dull ache that was building up inside of her.

“God, Tess…” Sean moaned as he kissed down her neck to her breasts. He sucked one nipple into his mouth and licked and nibbled her until she was almost screaming his name.

“Please, Sean…” she almost begged, pulling him even closer to her.

“You ready baby?” Sean asked, his breath coming out in pants.

“Yes, I need you, please.” Tess groaned arching into him.

Sean made quick work of pulling his boxers down and he hissed as his cock came in contact with the wet silk of her panties. He dipped his fingers into the side of her underwear as he slowly pulled them down, the smell of her arousal hitting him immediately. He couldn’t believe he had such an effect on her.

He moved slowly back up her body, kissing her legs, stomach, breasts, and neck along the way. He wanted to spend all night exploring her body, and he was sure he would but he understood that Tess needed this. She needed to move past the stress of losing her virginity before she could enjoy everything he wanted to show her.

He kissed her lips again and felt her tremble underneath him. “Are you okay?” he asked.

“Yeah, I’m just a little nervous.” Tess said with a sweet smile. “Go slow please.”

Sean smiled warmly at her and took her hand in his as he guided his cock to her dripping wetness. He let himself rub against her, gently, until she was moaning and clinging to him. Then, in one quick thrust, he broke through her barrier and immediately felt the bite of Tess’s nails in his back.

He ventured to look at her face and saw a few stray tears running down her cheeks. It hurt him to hurt her like that, but he hoped he could make it better for her later.

Tess took a couple of deep breaths and calmed herself. It didn’t hurt as much as she thought it would, but it hurt all the same. Besides, she had to remember to block the flashes from Sean, as much as it pained her to do so.

Finally, the dull ache subsided and she shifted her hips up to take him in deeper. She knew he would stay still within her all night if he thought that was what she needed, and she appreciated it but she wanted him to move.

“You okay?” he asked before moving and when she nodded, he slowly pulled out of her before thrusting back in.

The feeling of him moving within her unleashed a part of Tess that she didn’t even know existed. “Yes…” she hissed, the pain totally gone now. All she felt was a pressure building up inside of her waiting to release itself.

“Tess!” Sean grunted. He’d never felt anything like making love to her. She was so tight, wet, and hot that he thought he would go mad if he ever had to stop fucking her. She was clinging to him with all she had, and he could tell that he was doing something right.

Tess arched her back to take him in deeper and deeper, and as he plunged forward she felt the pressure inside her build and built until…”OH GOD! Sean, that feels…so…so good! YES!” she almost screamed, and they both thanked the powers above that no one was home.

She clinched around him, and Sean gritted his teeth as he pressed her hips further into the mattress and he thrust into her faster and faster. He was so close. “Oh fuck! TESS!” he groaned as he came deep inside of her, stroking her two or three more times before he collapsed on the bed next to her.

Tess pulled the covers over both of them and laid her head on Sean’s chest. “Are you okay?” she almost giggled.

“Yeah,” Sean said, out of breath. “You have to give me a minute. That was the most intense thing I’ve ever felt.” He looked up at her and kissed her cheek. He’d never had sex like that. It didn’t last long, but his body still tingled.

“I know what you mean,” Tess laughed. She wrapped her arms tightly around Sean and they let the aftershocks of their love making run through them together.
