Before Michael can answer me, Isabel magically appears next to me again. "Having fun Alex?"
Now, normally that is great but I was just about to drink and now I'm coughing quite a lot because she surprised me. Way to go Whitman, show off what a stud you are by killing yourself while drinking.
Finally, I can breathe again and smile a bit weary at her (probably with a red face to top it, great!), "Yeah it is a great party from what I can tell so far. Do you know most of the people here?"

Bad move on my part to sneak up on Alex like that because he's coughing and sputering now so I thump his back slightly,"Sorry I didn't mean to startle you." I say apologetically as he looks at me,slightly watery eyed and red faced
"Yeah it is a great party from what I can tell so far. Do you know most of the people here?"
I look over the crowd once more before answering,"Umm,I think I have met a few of these people at Liz's other parties but the majority are strangers to me.To be honest I have never made the effort to be very social at these dos,I just stick to my friends since I am never going to meet these people again.I'm sure Liz also doesn't know half of them."
Turning to him I ask,Do you want to dance?"

"Sure." Glancing around, I quickly put my drink away, saying "Talk to you later." to Michael and then turning to Isabel again, remembering what happened when we danced. Not that I think we'll start making out again but it is a nice memory.

I smile slightly at that, enjoying the praise, "Well you know, first of all, I had a really talented and charming coach who helped me a lot and secondly, I think you are confusing me with you."
I think for a moment before getting the courage to add, "No, come to think of it, 'beautiful and stunning' is the better describtion for you."

"Thank you." I reply shyly,which is so not like me "I'm glad you like the look." I reply referring to my mini denim skirt which I hardly ever wear,I think I've worn it a total of two times,including tonight since I bought it a year ago.
"They all think we are a couple,you know." I wave briefly in the general direction of our friends "Even though I haven't said anything,the girls,well Liz has jumped to conclusion.I can tell."

I briefly glance in the direction where I saw our friends the last time, mostly to buy me time because I'm unsure what to say. I certainly don't mind them thinking that, I mean ... it is nice to think that and none of the girls gave me the third degree yet which is good, I think.
"I'm pretty sure Max thinks the same." I say after a moment, wondering when he'll confront me about 'dating' his little sister. "Michael and Kyle most likely too."
I look back at Isabel who's watching me. "I didn't tell them we are, if that's what you are worried about and if you want, we can immediately head over and tell them to hold their imaginations in check."

But then it strikes me that he thought I had a problem with it,"Do you think I would have a problem if they thought that?I'm not that shallow you know." I am slightly annoyed by that
