I cannot help the groan that escapes me as she rolls off of me and asks what's wrong. A groan of pain and also of frustration. Why am I not allowed just a few moments to enjoy my life? I can't help but laugh about Marias question if the bodyguards will be cute and twinkle at Alex.

"Maria - if Zan never sent me a picture of himself then you should have no doubt that he will surely not send a pic of the bodyguards." I say dryly.

But she already blabbers more and asks if we know why these men are coming.

"I could ask Kyle about it." Alex says "Maybe he has a clue."

Surprised I look at him. "You would? That's so kind of you." I twine my arms around him and press my head at his chest. "You're the best brother in the world."

At her words and the tone that she uses when she says them, my eyes close that I am once again causing her pain. I sigh deeply and take her chin in my hand. I kiss her deeply before pulling back and staring into her endlessly deep, beautiful eyes. I stroke her cheek and whisper, "Oh, my love. I'm not hiding anything from you...only the intensity. Honestly, I have a headache and it's pounding but you are making it better just by being here with me. I'm sure that it will be gone on the morrow." I smile at her and squeeze her tightly into my side. "And if you haven't heard me say it enough to sink in yet, I love you too...with every fiber of my being."

That sharp pain strikes again and I wince slightly before it recedes. I smile at her wryly, knowing that she must have seen that.
