I hear Liz's voice in her chambers next to mine, calling me. She sounds a little annoyed. As I get up and put my book down, Shasta leaps from my lap looking back at me like she's extremely put out and Basil gets on his feet, waiting to follow me. "Well, it's not my fault that I had to get up. I can't sit around all day just so you can sit in my lap, Shasta." She blinks at me and turns her back and I just laugh. Signalling to Basil to lay back down I tell him, "No, Basil, you might as well wait here. I'm only going to see Lizzie next door." He wines and looks so sad that I can't help but laugh and give in. "Ok, ok! You can come."
So I go into the corridor and walk to Liz's chamber door and knock before sticking my head in. Alex and Liz are in there and Liz doesn't look too happy. "Hey! You were calling me?" I ask.

I notice Kivar frowning and rubbing his temples so I approach him, "That'll be nice won't it. Why she decided to go by Tess, though, is still beyond me. I thought Ava suited her much better." he says absent mindedly and wraps his arms around me
I rest my forehead against his chest,"Hmm. What now? I can think of a couple of things to do," and I laugh softly as he nuzzles my neck,tilting my head to one side,enjoying the tender moment "Oh darn it. It's almost time for dinner."
"Time does seem to fly when you're having fun." looking up at him I place a kiss on his chin "Are you feeling okay Kivar...you don't look too well.May be you should lie down and you can have dinner in bed." My hands go to his shoulders,kneading the muscles lightly as I wait for his answer

I shake off her concern quickly. "I've never felt better, my love. Although, the thought of dinner in bed, as long as you're with me, doesn't sound like a bad idea." I grin at her and hope to take my mind off of the headache that I've got. It's still pretty mild but it isn't going away. Mabye a glass of wine with dinner will help. It must be the change in the weather today, with the storm and all, maybe the barometric pressure is causing it.

Standing on tip toes I let my hands mould to the shape of his head and kiss him tenderly on the mouth before pulling away,"Go get changed and I'll send for dinner."
I walk back in to my own chambers and pull on the rope bell in one corner of the room,soon enough a servant appears,"Have dinner sent up quickly to his Majesty's bedroom.He and I will dine there." I order him and return to Kivar
"Would like me to massage your temples?" I ask as I enter and see him rubbing his temples again

I quickly snatch my hands away from my head as she reenters my room and offers to rub my temples. "I seem to remember a back rub you promised earlier. Does that offer still stand, even though no one really won the race?" I ask. The thought of her hands running over my head as well as my body goes a long way to help me forget about this headache. I don't want her worrying over me. I'm fine, just a little headache...nothing to be worried about.
I have changed into my more comfortable dressing robe with only my underwear on beneath it. I feel better already...really. I notice she hasn't changed. "Why are you still in those clothes? Don't you want to be comfortable too?"

"I should have known I couldn't hide it from you for very long." I stare into the fire while she continues her ministrations. "Running a planet is hard work, especially one so volatile as this one. With the peace in this system being so unstable, my nerves are constantly on edge." I sigh again. "That's why days like today are so far inbetween...and so important. I'll have to remember how much today helped so that we may do it more often."

You should never feel like you aren't wanted...in any way. I can't imagine my life without you. I know I don't say it enough but I love you. I mentioned earlier that I never learned how to show affection or to be affectionate in my childhood. You have gone a long way to reversing that." I kiss each of her hands and pat them before turning back around to stare into the fire again before I just attack her and to hell with dinner.

Before I can anything else Kivar's butler announces the arrival of dinner and I step away from him,in order to let the servants come in a prepare the table.
Silently I watch Kivar from across the room,waiting for them to finish setting the table,when they're done I dismiss them,"That'll be all for tonight."
