"No! I'll do it myself." I state resolutely, not sure where this bravado is coming from. I'm probably just worried that Michael or Kyle start hitting on her and ... I really really don't want that for some reason. Taking a big sip from my drink, I take a deep breath and get up, giving the guys an insecure smile and head over to the ladies.
Oh god, what am I supposed to say? Hopefully, I don't mess things up to much and she won't think I'm a lunatic or something similar. Reaching their table, I wait for a second before I have their attention, smiling nervously at the blonde.
"I'm sorry for interrupting you ladies but ... this might seem like a weird question but ... do you know a Max Evans?"

Sipping my drink I watch Liz head to the dance floor with that tree of a man and start giggling when I see what an excellent dancer he is.
Nudging Maria I nod my head in their direction,"Liz is going to go home with bruised toes tonight if she doesn't get away from that big galoot soon."
"I'm sorry for interrupting you ladies but" I look up and notice a slim,tall guy standing in front of us "...this might seem like a weird question but...do you know a Max Evans?" he asks
"Why do you want to know?" I ask,putting my drink down on the table

The question startles me a bit, I was more expecting a yes or a no. I can't really tell her that I'm interested in her and Max threatened to kill me if I talk to her, can I?
"I'm Alex Whitman, one of Max's friends. We and two other friends are together tonight and ... we spotted you earlier when waiting outside and Max kinda reacted weird when he saw you. Weirder than usual that is so ... I'm just curious if you two know each other."

I give him the once over.Not the kinda guy I would picture Max being friendly with but then I don't really know my brother anymore.He's a stranger to me.
"We do know each other.Have a seat Alex." I point to the seat opposite me
"These are my friends Maria and Tess." I introduce them and then turn my attention to back to him "I'm Isabel...Isabel Evans.Does that make it any easier?"
