Shopping? Ugh! And what is the difference between shopping and serious shopping? Are they laughing during the first and looking all business and stern during the later?

"I think I'll pass." I mutter with a grimace. At least Isabel is eating no pancakes which leaves more for me and ... damn, I have to start cleaning up soon then when she is not eating anything.

I think about the different things that Max listed as possible things that we could do today, all of which seemed like nice group outings that we could go on. And then Izzy enters and starts asking about shopping. I notice her catch my eye over the rim of her cup.

Taking that as a hint, a hint I’m not even sure actually is one, I answer before I take another bite of my pancakes, “I could use some hassle free shopping.”

Shopping. Well, that's one thing I didn't have on my list. Can't say that it has a lot of appeal to me, but I'm not surprised that Isabel is interested. She should be able to do something that pleases her, especially after her night was ruined last night.

I almost wish I could go along just to hang out with Liz but I'm sure she wouldn't appreciate it and I don't like shopping all that much, unless I'm looking at electronic gadgets or stuff like that.

"Well, I guess I'll bow out, too. I'm sure you two will have a good time," I say. I turn to Tess, asking. "Are you going to head out with them, or hang out here?" I don't want her to think she has to be attached to me all the time just because we're dating.

Liz and Isabel are shopping, Max and I aren't. Somehow, I can't imagine Michael and Alex to be shoppers but Tess and Maria might be.

"So, if Tess and Maria shop too, then the house would belong to us men." I muse out loud, slightly startled when the others look at me - either slightly amused or slightly annoyed. "What? That's a logical conclusion."

"All right," I say looking at Kyle. His 'logical conclusion' is essentially correct, but incomplete. Of course, it does depend on Tess and Maria joining the shoppers. Tess hasn't voiced an opinion on that yet and Maria hasn't even heard the suggestion.

"So what is it that you propose to do when 'us men' are in charge of the house?" I ask. I'm almost afraid to hear any suggestion he might make. Anything from a day of sitting in front of the tube watching ESPN to hiring strippers comes to mind. I don't really want to be involved in either.

If I were at college with my frat brothers, we'd certainly have fun watching some ... adult movies or playing football but here ... eh, not really. I can't imagine Alex and Max being up for XXX-rated movies, Michael yes but those two not.

"Well, we could just watch tv for a bit, or go to the beach," I start pointing out some possibilities, "prepare for a party in the evening where we invite some people" (hopefully mostly hot chicks), "or we could just be lazy all day and do nothing at all."

I wake up late, my head is pounding and I feel really hot. I better not be sick but I have the sinking suspicion that my headache is due to how many blankets I have thrown over myself. How stupid am I? I wonder as I leave my room and head towards the kitchen in hopes of finding an aspirin but instead I find a room full of the other housemates.

I look up, wondering at Kyle's words, but he's right. She looks like she hasn't slept much.

"Alex made pancakes if you want some," I say, suddenly wondering if that's a good idea. If she's really ill, she probably won't want to eat. I didn't think she was drinking last night, but I wasn't really paying attention. It's posible that she's hung-over.

I open my mouth to mention the shopping trip that Isabel and Liz have planned, thinking that might make her perk up -- but then I realize it isn't really my place to invite her. Maybe the two of them would rather have some privacy. Tess hasn't yet indicated whether she's going. Maybe she's thinking the same thing...

Hi all, I just wanted to post it here as well as the Vacationing thread. I will try to write something tonight, but I'm not making any promises. But I will be leaving for Japan on vacation this Saturday, and won't be back until August first. I might be able to post while I'm out and about. (It's what I'm hoping for.)
