10:30am

Colleen is at the park overseeing the last minute details for the 1pm ceremony. She’ll be doing the same thing at The Crashdown, where the reception will be held. Using the cutest baby pink clipboard with matching sheets of paper, she checks off every last detail before she heads to the café.

Chairs? Check.
Podium? Check
Flowers? Check.

When Colleen gets to the cafe, the first person she sees is Liz having breakfast over at the counter. She makes her way over to her. “Just look at you, you’re getting married in a few hours and you look as if you haven’t a care in the world.”

Liz looks up from her cup of coffee and replies with pride, “Haven’t you heard, I’m marrying a wonderful man. I don’t have a care in the world.” She gestures to the full pot of coffee sitting on her right.

Colleen places her hand out indicating that she doesn’t want any coffee. “That would explain why you look so radiant. You know you weren’t supposed to see the groom before the wedding.” shaking her finger at her like she’s been naughty.

“I didn’t see Max last night even though I wanted to, I kept with tradition. He called me this morning though.” She gives Colleen a sly smile, “Last time I checked there was no harm in that.”

Colleen sits down next to Liz at the counter, “Speaking of last night, Kyle said the Bachelor Party at Michael’s was crazy.”

Rolling her eyes, “I’m sure it was.” Liz shakes her head and shudders at the thought.

It was Michael’s idea all the way. Thank goodness Max doesn’t act like a hormone ravaged teenager, but then again I don’t think he ever was a hormone ravaged teenager.”

12pm

Liz, Maria and Isabel are in Liz’s room helping her get dressed. Out of nowhere she gets a potent attack of nerves. “Oh God! Maria why did you let me buy this tiara? I mean who do I think I am the Queen? And this veil is too sheer, and these shoes.” She looks down at her shoes with disgust.

Maria and Isabel look at each other in total amazement. Maria decides to be the voice of reason, “Chica, what is wrong with you? Everything you picked is beautiful and you’re going to be beautiful for Max, remember him?”

Isabel agrees, “its just nerves. Remember how nervous I got before my wedding? Thank God I left the details to you two! Liz, I dare say you have things under control. Take a deep breath and let us help you dress, ok?”

12:30pm

There’s a knock on the bedroom door. It’s Liz’s mom and dad, “Ladies, is it ok if my wife and I have a chat with Liz?”

Maria and Isabel nod their heads and head out and close the door.

As Jeff Parker walks over to his daughter, he is almost overcome by her beauty. She’s standing in front of him wearing her mother’s wedding dress and it takes everything for him to keep the tears at bay as he attempts to speak to his daughter before the wedding. Nancy sits on the bed and takes in the moment. “Liz, I just wanted to tell you how much I love you, how much I’ve loved being your father. I know we’ve had some rocky times since Max came into your life, but every father expects that.” He walks over to Liz and puts his hands on her shoulders. “The thing about it is that we’re never prepared for that day. I’m not prepared for you to get married and move away but that’s life. Your mother and I wanted you to know how proud we are of you and expect wonderful things for both you and Max as you start your lives together.”

Nancy walks over to them and puts a comforting hand on her only child’s cheek. “Liz I have every confidence that Max will make you happy. Above all, enjoy life and never take it for granted.” She cups Liz’s other cheek so that she has her daughters face in her hands. “I love you baby.”

Looking at both her parents, “Please guys, you’re gonna make me ball something awful. Dad I know how hard it was for you to accept Max, but you did and I love you for that, but most importantly I love you for being the best father I could ever hope for. You too mom, I couldn’t have asked for better parents.” Just as the three get into a group hug, Colleen knocks on the door.

“Ok everybody, it’s show-time!”

12:45pm

Max and Michael have just arrived at the park, as they walk toward the snow-white gazebo stationed in the middle of the park, Kyle rushes up to meet them. “How you feeling Max?” slapping him on the back.

Max smiles at Kyle, “It’s a great day to get married!”

Kyle turns to Michael and asks, “Is he on tranquilizers?”

Michael gives Kyle a bemused look, “I think it’s called love.”

They head over to the gazebo chatting about the wild party last night.

1pm

All are assembled at the park and the wedding is about to begin. Max and Michael are standing in front of the gazebo with the minister. From the looks of Michael, you’d think he was the one getting married. He’s pulling on the shirt collar of his tuxedo like it’s strangling him, while Max looks fresh as a daisy in his plain but elegant black suit with white shirt and white tie. He has a mini white rose attached to his left lapel.

Colleen is stationed in the back of the park waiting for the wedding party. When the black sedan holding Liz, her parents, Maria and Isabel comes to a stop, she waves her hand and Kyle hurries over to escort Nancy Parker to her seat. As soon as she’s seated, the wedding march starts to play. One by one they step out of the sedan. Isabel is first. She carries pink tulips that match her hot pink dress and she makes her way down the white padded aisle. Maria follows Isabel down the aisle as the maid of honor holding pale yellow blossoms that match her buttercup colored dress. Jeff Parker steps out next and assists Liz out of the sedan. Gasps can be heard from all directions as Liz steps out of the car and readies herself for her walk down the aisle. Her father and Colleen help her smooth her dress as she covers her face with the veil. Her tiara is glistening in the warm early summer sun. She resembles Audrey Hepburn with her long white sleeveless sheath. Her long chestnut hair is captured in an elegant chignon. She’s wearing snow-white gloves that come up to her elbows. The clear crystal shoes she’s wearing would make even Cinderella envious.

As Liz and her father make it to the aisle Max catches his first glimpse of her in her dress, a vision that takes his breath away. So much so that he has to remind himself to breathe. At this moment in time he’s the proudest man in the world, witnessing his bride make her way to him. As Liz makes her way down the aisle, Maria looks away and gets a surprise of her own.

Off in the distance she sees Zan walking around to the back of the park. He’s not wearing his customary clothes. He is wearing black but he’s wearing a pair of black dress slacks and black silk shirt that fit as if they were made just for him. Instead of his customary boots, he’s wearing elegant black patent leather loafers that have been buffed to a high shine. Instead of using his powers, Zan actually went to the mall and bought everything. As he looks up, their eyes meet and they give each other warm smiles.

The wedding goes off without a hitch. Jeff Parker presents Liz to Max, and as they take their vows there are sniffles heard from the audience then the minister pronounces them man and wife. Max gives Liz a kiss so passionate that the attendants know that their life together will never be boring.

After the ceremony, Liz and Max make their way to the car and head to the cafe for the reception.

As everyone else follows the newly wed couple back to the cafe, Maria goes to give her man a proper greeting. “Babe, I’m so glad you came. I sure hoped you would!” She plants a kiss on his cheek.

“I know; I did it for you doll.” Shifting almost bashfully from side to side with his hands around his back.

“Hey, looks like you’re really happy to see me.” Maria mischievously smiles while staring at his erection.

“Oh, I’m always happy to see you doll.” He touches her and moves close enough to plant a kiss on her neck. They head to the cafe arm in arm.

After dinner is served and all the toasts have been made, Maria makes her way over to where the Kit Shickers are assembled. She tests the mike to make sure it’s on and smiles at the crowd.

“Attention everybody,” she makes sure that the whole audience is paying attention, “For those who don’t know me I’m Maria Deluca the maid of honor and a close friend of the bride and groom.” Turning towards where Max and Liz are sitting at the head table, “I’ve seen them go through their ups and downs and wondered if this day would ever come. I’m so glad it has and I want to try to make this day as memorable for them as possible.” Smiling to them and then the crowd, “Max, Liz I have a surprise for you. Can you come to the dance floor for me please?”

As they make their way to the middle of the dance floor, the Kit Shickers start to play I Shall Believe. As Maria starts to sing, Liz’s eyes dance as she puts her hands over her mouth. Max smiles at Maria, then Liz. They both look blissfully happy.

As Max and Liz dance, Maria’s mom Amy Deluca rushes in the cafe. She looks clearly embarrassed because she missed the wedding but she had to deliver some alien themed products to one of her venders. She notices Colleen standing at the side watching the happy couple dance. As Colleen greets Amy, she notices a big brilliant diamond ring on her left hand. She also notices the sheriff wave and blow a kiss her way. Curiosity grabs Colleen, so she engages Amy in conversation, hoping she’d spill the beans. “Is there something you wanna tell me Ms. Deluca?”

Amy smiles at Colleen and says, “Yes, you’ve done a marvelous job with this wedding. Are you available in six months to do my wedding to the sheriff?”

Colleen shouts yes and gives Amy a great big hug.

When the song is over, Maria walks over to the happy couple and hugs them both. She sees her mom and waves.

As she leaves the dance floor the Kit Shickers start to play If I had a Million Dollars.

As the music plays, Jesse asks his wife to dance. He extends his hand to her and leads her to the dance floor. As they sway to the music, Iz gets hit with a violent wave of nausea.

Jesse grabs her arm and squeezes in an effort to keep her from collapsing. She barely manages to keep it down for the time being.

"Baby, what's wrong?" Jesse says through clenched teeth due the pain shooting up his arm.

"Nothing." Iz whispers firmly.

"Baby...what is wrong" Jesse pries Iz's hand from his arm and holds it in his hand while her grip slowly loosens. He stares intently at Iz and keeps asking until she hits a breaking point.

“Jesse, I’m pregnant!" Needless to say, all eyes have veered from the bride and groom on to the newly expectant couple. With happy and very red faces caused by the embarrassment of interrupting the merriment, Jesse and Isabel both use their hands to gesture feverishly for everyone to continue dancing, eating or whatever they were doing at the time. Then out of no where Jesse picks up his beautiful wife and yells triumphantly “I’m gonna be a father!”

Since Max and Tess’s baby came out one hundred percent human, there’s definitely no worry with this baby coming out three foot tall and green and slimy. Max and Liz beam thinking of the new addition to the family. They go over and congratulate the happy couple.

Maria finally makes her way over to Zan. She’s surprised to see him standing near the door having a surprisingly civil conversation with Michael.

Michael slaps a hand on Zan’s shoulder, “Dude, I just wanted to clear the air about everything that happened with Maria and I that night. I still love her but obviously the best man won. You got one hell of a right cross.”

Zan smirks at the last comment. “Yo it ain’t all your fault. If I was straight up with blondie, the whole thing wouldn’t have happened.” He goes on to roll his eyes.

When Maria makes it to the guys, Michael smiles at her and holds out his hand.
“Let’s finally agree to let bygones be bygones, ok? My face can’t take all the wear and tear.”

“Whatever you say man.” Michael shakes Maria’s then Zan’s hand as Zan puts his arm around her.

“I’m getting too old for the bullshit!” Michael is heard to say as he walks off.

A DJ is installed for the rest of the night as the Kit Shickers leave the stage and the sheriff goes to find his new fiancé. As You’re Beautiful plays, Zan takes Maria’s hand and leads her to the dance floor. As he takes her in his arms, Maria’s mind floods back to how they first met and everything that has happened since then. She glances up at him and says, “Wow, I never thought I’d want a change of pace, but you my love became that and much more.”

“Yo you ain’t seen nothing yet, just stick wit your boy!” They kiss and dance their way through the night.

Epilogue

Six months later, Amy Deluca became Mrs. James Valenti Jr. and Maria caught the bouquet. Kyle and Colleen got engaged later that year and Isabel had a beautiful baby girl. They named her Arianna Isabella Ramirez. Max applied to Harvard’s pre-med program and was accepted on a full scholarship, and Liz is happy as Dr. Holt’s protégé. Things couldn’t be happier with them making a life together.

Michael met the perfect girl for him at the pool hall, a Courtney look-a-like.

And last but certainly not least, Zan and Maria are very happy and still together. He gave Maria his personal tour of New York and introduced her to Lonnie and Rath.

Will they take their relationship to the next level? Who knows, but they’re having one hell of a good time exploring the possibilities and being in love.

The End.
