Title: A New Beginning

Summary: Liz leaves after ‘Interruptus’ When she finds out that she is developing mutant abilities her parents send her to the Xavier Institute to learn to control her gifts. She will be staying in touch with the Pod Squad, and she will be going though the changes.
She never figured that she would be so different from everyone else. Her, Liz Parker was a mutant. It wasn’t enough that she was in love with an alien but, now she is a person that is feared and hated by everyday people. How will Max react? Will he stop loving her? Will her friends turn on her? She didn’t know and honestly she was scared to find out.
She picked up her journal and began to write:
‘Today is January 10, and I just found out that my parents are planning to send me away to a place called the Charles Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters. In other words, its for mutants. It seems that they believe that I can learn to control my powers there. I don’t really know, I mean I don’t want to leave Max and the others right now after what happened with Khivar and Isabel. I’m even scared to tell them about me being a mutant and that I’m leaving to a school that is on the East Coast. But, I know that I will have to tell them, I owe it to them and to myself to be honest. I will even tell them about Future Max, and just hope that they don’t hate me in the process. I wish Alex was here to give me strength now that I need it the most’
Liz closes her journal and looks around her room and starts to pact knowing that she only has three days to settle everything. When she finally finishes she looks at the clock on her night stand and it reads 5 o’clock. She decides to call everyone to tell them to meet at the Crashdown at 7 o’clock.

Everyone started to arrive at about 6:40, wondering what the meeting was about. Liz can down stairs and saw everyone there waiting for her she suddenly got very afraid and nervous.
“You all might be wondering why I called this meeting tonight. I have two things to tell you. I hope that once I tell you won’t hold it against me”
“Yeah, I was about to watch a game on t.v. when you called. This better be important” Michael said little patience.
“Michael will you shut up about your games. No one cares who wins what, this is more important than some game. Right Lizzie?” asked Maria from the booth where she was sitting with Max and Kyle.
“Yeah, I just want to tell you the reason why I lied to everybody about sleeping with Kyle. The reason was because someone very important to me asked me to”, Liz then turned to look at Max in the eyes and said “You, Max asked me to. But not you, a future version of you from 14 years in the future”
“WHAT?!!” exclaimed everyone but Maria.
“Future Max used the Granolith to travel back in time with the help of someone named Serena to try and change the future. See, in that version Tess left because of the way Max and I treated her after we cemented our relationship. It seems that she was vital in all of our survival. You see, your enemies ended up destroying the planet. So, I had to help him to help you to fall out of love with me and get you with Tess. So, I said all those things to try and get you to turn away from me. But it wouldn’t work so, I asked Kyle to help me with something and without telling him any of the specifics I got him to help me. When he disappeared that’s when I knew that you had fallen out of love with me. I gave up our marriage and our happiness for the good of the planet even though it hurt like hell. I had no choice” By the time she was
done Liz was in tears.
“You didn’t think of telling anyone?” asked Isabel shocked and awed by the petite brunette in front her.
“He told me not to. Even if I had told someone who would of believed me. I mean, how would we be able to stop it from happing? I figure that if I gave up then, Max and Tess would end up together and be able to defend yourselves against your enemies. If I would of known that she was a traitor and a murderess I would never had agreed with him” Liz said as she avoided looking at anyone in the eyes.
“Don’t you dare to think to blame her for making a decision that she had to do. She was hoping that she helped you and the planet from being destroyed. She is not to blame for the way it all turned out with Tess” Maria said stepping beside her best-friend.
“YOU KNEW?!!” accused Michael.
“YES. So, what? She asked me not to tell and made me promise to keep it so, I did”
“Unbelievable”
While everyone was arguing Max was just looking at Liz with a sad look on his face. ‘She didn’t sleep with Kyle. SHE DIDN’T SLEEP WITH KYLE. I slept with that murderess and hurt Liz so, much and she pretended to sleep with Kyle to save everyone because I asked her to. Why, must we suffer just to be together and happy?’
“Look that was my first news. The second is that I’m leaving to go to a school in the East Coast. I’m leaving in three days”

Part 2
Everyone was quiet trying to gather their thoughts to try and ask her questions about this school.
“Why do you have to leave? Where are you going? What did your parents say? What kind of school is it? ” asked Maria trying not to panic and loose her composure.
“Maria, breathe” said Isabel.
“I guess it is time I tell you my second important news. Please try and not say anything until I finish,” Liz looked at everyone and said “I’m a mutant. I found out about a week and a half ago. A man by the name of Charles Xavier came and talked with my parents about me having mutant abilities. It seems that I can control the elements. Because I had an incident that involved me losing control of a fire that I had accidentally started. He came and told us that he runs a school in upstate New York that helps mutants get control of their abilities. So, after talking to my parents we decided that it would be for the best if I went. The have everything ready, I leave in three days”
To say that everyone was stunned was an understatement.
“How is it possible that you are a mutant and Max not be able to know it since, he healed you?” asked Kyle after several minutes of silence had past.
“Well, I think it is because he deals with molecules and moving them around. Where as the mutation comes from the X-gene that he wouldn’t be able to detected” explained Liz to the group around her trying to be as calm as possible.
“If you think that I would stop being your friend just cause you can do things then, you don’t know me very well. Besides I took the whole aliens live among us rather well” said Maria.
Everyone looks at her like she has grown an extra head.
“I’m with Maria, granted it is a little of a wow factor but, I can deal with it. After all, you are my friend and what kind of a friend would I be if, I stop talking to you just because you are different?” asked Kyle looking around the restaurant.
“You’ll be all by yourself seeing as how we are all different. But, he does have a point, I mean you accepted us and helped us with all of our problems. So what if you’re a mutant. That won’t stop me from considering you a friend” said Isabel looking straight at Liz trying to convey all of her sincerity and gratitude to the petite brunette.
“Yeah, Liz. I agree with Izzy. So, what if you’re a mutant it just makes you different like us.” Michael said with a shrug.
“As to where I’m going is a school in upstate New York. It is a school for mutants to learn how to control their powers. Hopefully I’ll learn to control my power fast enough to be back and help you guys in case if you need me to.”
What nobody has asked is what is your mutant ability, Liz?” asked Kyle curiously.
“I can control the elements around me. You know Earth, Air, etc” explained Liz.
Everyone agreed that Liz being a mutant didn’t change the way they felt about her and their friendship in any way.

Later on that night when Liz was getting ready for bed, she heard a knock on her window. When she looked up to see who it was she saw Max there waiting.
“I wanted to talk to you in private” said Max.
Liz looked at him and she decided to let him in to talk.
“What is it that you wanted to talk about?”

“NO!! I was going to tell you when I found out but, then the whole thing with Khivar happened and I decided to wait until it died down before, saying anything to anyone”
“What I really wanted you to know is that I love you and I’ll be there for you when you need me. I know that things have been hard with me wanting to find my son but, that doesn’t stop me from loving you or needing you. I’ll come and visit when I get the chance. There is no way that this is going to change the way I feel about you and I wanted you to know that,” and with Max took Liz in a tight embrace and began to kiss her senselessly.
“Max I know that you love me and I want you to know that I love you too. I won’t let anything come between us again, even if I am all the way in upstate New York,” Liz looks at Max in his amber eyes and she sees love, desire, hope and acceptances “Make love to me, Max. That way I’ll have something of you when I leave”
Knowing what Max was thinking Liz tells him that her parents are in Albuquerque until tomorrow afternoon.
Needing no more of a request they begin to love one another until they fell asleep in each others embrace.

Author’s note: Rogue, Gambit, and most of the mutants at the school are teenagers (except Storm, Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean and Beast. They are teachers at the school!)
Meanwhile in Upstate New York at a school
“Remy if you don’t want Rogue on your bad side I suggest that you get her something that will leave her speechless” advised Kitty.
The red-eyed mutant looked at the petite hyper-active brunette in front of him and said,” Petite, Remy know what he is doing,” he then gives her a sly smile and adds “Plus Roguey can never stay mad at Remy for too long”
“But, Gambit you pulled Rogue into the pool. You know how she gets when gets angry, man can she hold a grudge” add Iceman taking a sit next to Kitty.
“Icicles, I know my Roguey and I know that she can’t stay mad at Ol’ Remy too long. Besides I know that she will like the little gift Remy left her in her room” and with that Gambit went up to his room and thought of a plan B if his “little gift” didn’t help matters.
“Yo Chuck, so who are you going to send to bring this girl from New Mexico to the school in two days?” asked Logan.
“I’m not. Her parents decided that she would come on her own seeing, as she has to say good-bye to her friends. I think her parents wanted her to have some time to herself to think about things”
“Professor, do you think that she will tell her friends that she is a mutant?” asked the white-haired mutant known as Storm.
“Storm, I doubt that she will tell her little friends about her being a mutant. She will probably lied to them about where she is going” said Logan with his usual gruffness.
“Logan you incorrect about this young lady. Oh, and for the record her name is Elizabeth Marie Parker. I believe she will tell her friends that she is a mutant and they will accept her. Why, you might ask. When I went to talk to them I got the impression that young Elizabeth was hiding a secret from her parents and it involved her friends” said the Professor.
“Poor child, not only does she find out that she is a mutant and she has to leave the only home she has ever known but, she also has to leave her family and friends behind as well” said a sad looking Storm.
“Something tells me that young Elizabeth is stronger that she will lead us to believe she is. But, we will talk more when she come in two days. For now.” he looks at Storm and address her “ I want you to get a room ready for her before she comes to stay with us. Also have her schedule ready for her as soon as possible” and with that he finished talking with two of his teachers about the girl that would arrive in two days not knowing that she would bring more surprises with her in time.

Max woke up to find Liz still asleep next to him. ‘It wasn’t a dream, we are together and it wasn’t some cruel dream. She looks so, beautiful lying there sleeping’ he thought.
He felt her stir and decided to get dress and make breakfast for them. He went downstairs and made eggs, bacon, sausage and coffee and brought it to her in bed. When he got to the room he found Liz already sitting up in bed.

“Max, you could have woken me up to help you make breakfast” said Liz at Max’s who was currently carrying a tray of food with both of his hands.
“I wanted to surprise you in bed.” Max said to Liz looking at her and added “Besides I like the idea of making breakfast for you, my love”
After breakfast, Max got dress so that he would return home before his parents grew suspicious of his late night excursion. Liz got up and took a shower, got dress and went downstairs so that she could open the restaurant for the day.
“Alright Chica, you have been glowing and smiling like you have a big secret, so was up?” asked Maria after the morning rush.
“Maria, you are imagining things. I don’t what you’re talking about,” said Liz and turned around to get something from the counter “and besides whatever secret YOU think I have if it was really important I would tell someone, right?’
“Not at first. But, you look like you and Max slept together,” said Maria as a semi-joke but, the look Liz gave her only gave away her answer “Oh. You and Max, FINALLY. Well I’m happy for you, Chica. After everything you guys been through you both deserve some happiness” said Maria giving Liz a warm hug.
“Thank you, Ria. I can’t be more happier than I’m right now. But, I’m a little sad with me having to leave. But, I know that we will make things work. Look can we talk about this some other time cause, it looks like Michael is going to have a fit if we don’t get back to work” said Liz to Maria and taking her by the arm to get back to work.

“Where is Gambit?” asked Kitty to Jubilee who was sitting in couch watching the her favorite t.v. show ‘Charmed’.

SORRY IT IS SO SHORT BUT, IT SEEMS THAT I'M STARTING TO GET WRITER'S BLOCK. BUT HOPEFULLY I'LL BE ABLE TO CONTINUE THE STORY WITHOUT TAKING TOO LONG.

My e-mail address got cancelled and my screen name for this forum was linked with it so, I couldn't continue with Lady Liz. So, I had to redue everything. “I think he went into hiding just incase Rogue doesn’t like his apology. Knowing him he’ll come back about the time she cools down enough. Now shush I’m watching my favorite episode of Charmed”
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
TWO DAYS LATER
Liz was saying good-bye to her friends in the Crashdown because her parents were going to drive her to the airport to get on the plane heading to New York.
“I’m going to miss you, Chica. Call me when you get there so, I know that your okay.” said a teary-eyed Maria hugging her best friend since grade school.
“Keep an eye out for any cute mutant girls for me” joked Kyle and giving an embrace to Liz his one-time girlfriend.
“Keep an eye out for anything unusual and weird” said an always mindful Michael awkwardly giving her an embrace.
“Have fun but, not too much fun. Let us know how your doing and call my brother knowing him he will be mopping around here until you call” said Isabel who has become more closer to Liz in the last two days.
“I don’t mope. I just worried about her. I will miss you. If you need anything don’t hesitate to call and I’ll find a way to get to Winchester. I love you.” said a reluctant Max.
Liz and her parents got in the car and headed for the airport so she could catch her plane that is headed towards New York.

Five hour later in front of Xavier Charles School for Gifted Youngsters
Liz got out of the cab and walk to a big mansion and ranged the bell and waited for someone to answer the door.
“Hello, This is Kitty. How can I help you?”
“Hello. I’m Elizabeth Parker and I have an appointment with the Professor Xavier”
“Oh, ok. Um…can you hold on a sec”
“Ok”
About four minutes later a young woman about 16 years old brunette opens the door and lets Liz in.
“Hi. I’m Kitty. Like you’re the new girl that is going to be like living here, right?” asked the hyper-active Kitty.
“Um…yes, I guess so. I’m Liz. Which way to the professor?”
“Oh. Like go straight down this corridor and then, like turn left it is like the first door there”
“Okay. Thanks, Kitty”
The Professor was doing some light reading when he heard a light knock at the door.
‘Come in Miss Parker’ said the professor telepathically.
Liz entered and found a middle-aged man sitting behind a desk.
“Good afternoon. You already know who I am.” then he closed his eyes and opened them again, “and this” pointing at the woman who just entered the room “is Ororo Munroe also known as Storm. She is going to give you a tour of the school and then help you get settled and give you your schedule for tomorrow morning. Is that fine?” asked the Professor.
“Yes, that is quite fine, thank you”
“Come with me, child” said Storm to Liz.
Storm gave Liz the grand tour of the school and along the way was told of the history of the school and the X-Men. After the tour was over Storm showed Liz her room and handed her the schedule for her first day of classes.
After dinner everyone was gather at the common room to welcome the newest addition of the school.
“Everyone this is Elizabeth Parker. She is from Roswell, New Mexico. Make sure that you all introduce yourself to her and a little about your mutant abilities” said an ever-calm professor.

TWO DAYS LATER
Liz was saying good-bye to her friends in the Crashdown because her parents were going to drive her to the airport to get on the plane heading to New York.
“I’m going to miss you, Chica. Call me when you get there so, I know that your okay.” said a teary-eyed Maria hugging her best friend since grade school.
“Keep an eye out for any cute mutant girls for me” joked Kyle and giving an embrace to Liz his one-time girlfriend.
“Keep an eye out for anything unusual and weird” said an always mindful Michael awkwardly giving her an embrace.
“Have fun but, not too much fun. Let us know how your doing and call my brother knowing him he will be mopping around here until you call” said Isabel who has become more closer to Liz in the last two days.
“I don’t mope. I just worried about her. I will miss you. If you need anything don’t hesitate to call and I’ll find a way to get to Winchester. I love you.” said a reluctant Max.
Liz and her parents got in the car and headed for the airport so she could catch her plane that is headed towards New York.

Five hour later in front of Xavier Charles School for Gifted Youngsters
Liz got out of the cab and walk to a big mansion and ranged the bell and waited for someone to answer the door.
“Hello, This is Kitty. How can I help you?”
“Hello. I’m Elizabeth Parker and I have an appointment with the Professor Xavier”
“Oh, ok. Um…can you hold on a sec”
“Ok”
About four minutes later a young woman about 16 years old brunette opens the door and lets Liz in.
“Hi. I’m Kitty. Like you’re the new girl that is going to be like living here, right?” asked the hyper-active Kitty.
“Um…yes, I guess so. I’m Liz. Which way to the professor?”
“Oh. Like go straight down this corridor and then, like turn left it is like the first door there”
“Okay. Thanks, Kitty”
The Professor was doing some light reading when he heard a light knock at the door.
‘Come in Miss Parker’ said the professor telepathically.
Liz entered and found a middle-aged man sitting behind a desk.
“Good afternoon. You already know who I am.” then he closed his eyes and opened them again, “and this” pointing at the woman who just entered the room “is Ororo Munroe also known as Storm. She is going to give you a tour of the school and then help you get settled and give you your schedule for tomorrow morning. Is that fine?” asked the Professor.
“Yes, that is quite fine, thank you”
“Come with me, child” said Storm to Liz.
Storm gave Liz the grand tour of the school and along the way was told of the history of the school and the X-Men. After the tour was over Storm showed Liz her room and handed her the schedule for her first day of classes.
After dinner everyone was gather at the common room to welcome the newest addition of the school.
“Everyone this is Elizabeth Parker. She is from Roswell, New Mexico. Make sure that you all introduce yourself to her and a little about your mutant abilities” said an ever-calm professor.
I am not afraid of dying. Just of forgetting who I am inside.

“Hello. You guys can call me Liz” as she shifted uncomfortably in front of everyone.
“My name child, is Ororo Munroe. I teach History. You can call me, Ms. Munroe or Storm. I have the ability to control the weather”
“Well, like we meet. Name’s Kitty and I can like phase through things”
“Name’s Rogue. I have the ability to absorb people’s life force, memories and in the case of mutants their abilities”
“Name’s Bobby Drake. You can call Iceman. I can basically freeze things”
“Name’s Remy LeBeau. Remy’s power is to kinetically charge things that go boom.”
“Name is Jubilation Lee. But, you can call me Jubilee. Basically my power is fireworks”
“Hello. My name is Jean Grey. I’m the doctor, and Science teacher here. My ability is telepathy and telekinesis”
“Welcome. My name is Scott Summers but everyone calls me Cyclops. I teach auto shop. And my ability is an optic blast”
“Name’s Piotr Nikolaievitch Rasputin but, everyone here calls me Peter or Colossus. I have the ability to make my skin hard as steel and strength”
“Yo, kid. Name’s Wolverine. Claws.”
“Salutations. My name is Hank McCoy. But, I go by Beast. I teach Literature and English. I also help with the technology here and even with some medical needs as well”
“Of course there are more students here but, the are a little too young and they are still learning to control their gifts. These are the most senior of the students. I hope that you will be comfortable here Elizabeth” and with that the Professor retreated to his study for the evening.
“So, like was you gift?” asked Kitty after the Professor left.
“Oh, He didn’t tell you guys?”, she asked looking around the room and from the shaking of their heads she had her answer “well, I can control the elements. But, I still learning”
Around 7:30 p.m. Liz called Maria and told her everything from the teachers and the students to her classes and the other kids gifts. After she finished talking with her, she checked her clock and it was 8:40 so, she decided to call Max. They talked about for an hour about her new surroundings and things that were happing in Roswell. When she hanged up it was about 10 o’clock so decided to turn off the lights and go sleep, readying herself for tomorrow.

Liz woke up around 7 o’clock to get ready for her first day of classes. She took a shower, got dress and went down stairs to eat breakfast with the other kids staying there.
“Hey, Liz. Like how are like this morning?” asked Kitty reaching for the orange juice across the table.
“I’m fine, thank you. How are you today?”
“I’m like fine. I can’t wait like till the Danger Room. Like the is so fun”
“Danger Room?” asked a curious Liz.
“Oh, that is where we learn to control our powers in a combat situation” said Cyclops as he was entering the kitchen.
“Isn’t that dangerous?”
“No. I like the danger room sessions a lot” said Iceman.
After breakfast Liz went to her first class in which Jean Grey was teaching science. She continued her classes until after lunch when the Professor told her that she was to report to the sub-levels of the school.
“I know we are going into this too early but, we need to know how strong your powers are” said the professor.
“So, I’m going into the danger room and what?” asked a nervous Liz.
“We just want you to try some fighting exercises using your powers” said Storm.
So, Liz changed into something in which she could fight. She entered the Danger Room apprehensive and a little worried but, at the same time she felt that if she could learn how to control her gift then she could help Max and the others against their enemies.
The professor and Storm made her fight against a robotic Toad for her first try. She did rather well and they ran some test to see how high her level went and it showed that she had quite an amount of untapped power within her. After about an hour they decided that was enough for that day and they excused her and told her she had the rest of the day off. So, she ran upstairs to call Max and Maria.
