A/N: Hello everyone, firstly thank you to everyone who read and left feedback for the last part. This is the final part of Game of Love. I'm not overly happy with my ending but i can't seem to make it any better.

Although most of us would love for stories to go on forever, as the author i felt as though it was definetely time to finish this. I hope you all enjoyed the ride, and thank to you everyone who supported this fic for its duration.

I have posted a new fic in the AU without Aliens forum but AA'ers don't fear because i have fics planned for the future which will belong here.

Anyway, thank you and Enjoy! :D

Part 28

Three months later

Liz’s eyes fluttered open and the first thing she saw was the sun streaming in through her window. It was a familiar feeling from the past few months. The dreams were definitely gone. Sometimes Liz felt relieved that she no longer had to live through a previous life but sometimes she wished for the dreams to come back.

Over the past three months though they all been able to move forward. It had taken some time for Liz to move past her hurt and sadness over loosing her son. To realise that he wasn’t hers and Max’s son, he was Zan and Eliza’s son and although they shared memories and in some regards a soul they were two separate people.

Liz hadn’t told the others straight away but after the night they had met Xaviour Liz had been in contact with him. She had question about the Eliza, and about the war but most of all she yearned for knowledge of Evan. Xaviour hadn’t been able to help her very much with information about Evan but he had been able to help her put aside her life now with Eliza’s life. He told her everything he knew about Eliza in her past life and even though Liz could see the similarities in things they loved there was also a huge difference in the person they were at the same time. Maybe it was because Eliza had been raised royal but Liz Parker would never know that.

Xaviour also told her about Zan, Rath and Faith. Liz learnt that Rath’s attraction to her had disappeared quickly and that he had truly loved Faith. He had also been Zan’s best friend and Liz hoped that one day Max and Michael would be as close as Rath and Zan had been.

Maria probably resembled her previous self the most. Xaviour described Faith as a happy, outgoing woman who was vibrant in everything she did. She was untameable and their parents had given up until she met Rath. Faith had loved him from the very beginning and although it had hurt her to see him fall for Eliza, Faith feelings for him never wavered.

Zan by all accounts was a wonderful man and an even better King and he loved Eliza to end of the galaxy. Liz had smiled when Xaviour had said it but then she realised that it wasn’t so different from the way that Max and her felt now.

Eventually Liz had confessed to the other aliens and they had smiled and understood and they had all agreed to ask Xaviour to bring his wife and children up for a BBQ. Liz, Maria, and Serena had gotten on like a house on fire and when they had returned home they all agreed to keep in touch. It was nice to have someone else to turn to that understood how they felt, and that they could talk to about having children when the time came.

By all accounts Liz was happy.

She rolled over in bed and snuggled against Max. “You finished thinking up a storm?” he chuckled.

“How long have you been awake?” Liz asked.

“Long enough to know that its too early to have so much running through your head,” he smirked as he rolled over.

“Sorry,” Liz blushed.

“Don’t be,” he replied as he reached out and caressed her cheek. “I love the way your mind works.”

Liz smirked. “So you don’t just love me just for my body?” she teased.

Max pulled Liz close and kissed her neck. “As sexy as is it, no,” he told her.

“Good to hear,” Liz whispered just before her mouth closed over Max’s.

“Man what’s going on with you?” Max panted as he took the basketball from Michael. Michael had just sprinted past him to hit the lead in their casual basketball game.

It was something that they had started doing a couple of months ago. It seemed like a good way for them to bond and it also helped to relieve some stress.

“Blue balls,” Michael grunted.

Max smirked as he bounced the ball before he faked to the left and then sprinted past Michael on the right to make a lay-up.

“Maria holding out?” he asked as he threw Michael the ball.

Instead of continuing with the game Michael walked towards the sideline and sunk down on the bench where he gabbed his water and Max followed.

“She’s driving me crazy,” Michael confessed. “Don’t get me wrong I love her to death but I don’t think I can continue to stop myself.”

Michael and Maria had been dating for three months. It had been slow going for both of them. Maria was still weary of getting involved with Michael and Michael knew he had a lot to do to prove himself worthy of Maria.

Sometimes he wondered how he had never noticed it before. Michael and Maria had chemistry sometimes he thought he was going to explode in anger at her yet as the same time he thought she was sexy as hell when she got all riled up so sometimes he did it on purpose.

Although things had been going well for them they had yet to move to the next level of their relationship. Sure they made out and lately they had moved to third base but all in all Michael was extremely sexually frustrated.

“What are you waiting for?” Max asked him.

“I don’t know,” Michael shrugged.

“You know Maria’s just as frustrated as you?” Max said.

“She is?”

Max chuckled. “Yeah Liz and I heard her mumbling about a cold shower as she came in last night.”

“Oh,” he nodded, he knew the feeling hot showers were a thing of the past for him.

“So what's the problem?” Max asked again he suspected that it was Michael who was holding back.

“I just want it to be the right time,” Michael said. The least he could do for Maria was to make things perfect for her; he certainly never bothered about anything like that with Liz. But he also recognised that his feelings for Liz and Maria were completely different. He was in lust with Liz but he was in love with Maria.

“You could wait forever, just be careful you don’t wait too long and she starts to doubt whether you want her,” Max pointed out as he stood up.

Michael’s eyes widened. “She wouldn’t think that would she?”

Max smirked. “They’re women, I have no idea how they come to the conclusions they do sometimes. I just know that if it was Liz I wouldn’t take the chance.”

“Yeah. Yeah you’re right,” Michael nodded.

***

When Max came home a few nights later to find Maria and Liz busy primping Maria up Max knew that Michael had finally bitten the bullet.

“Big night?” he asked.

“Yeah,” Maria blushed.

“Have fun,” he told her before he placed a kiss on her cheek.

When Maria was gone Liz went to look for Max and found him out on the balcony.

“Your sister called,” she informed him with a smile.

Liz and Isabel had gotten close over the past three months too. They had visited his family a few times and Isabel had brought Alex to Roswell a couple of times as well. They were now considering moving to Roswell so that Isabel could be closer to Max which Liz and Max were looing forward too.

“Oh what did she say?” Max asked.

“Well she wants you to call her back, said she had something to tell you and she sounded pretty excited.” Liz didn’t tell Max but she already suspected what the news was and she was ecstatic.

Her and Max had talked a lot about marriage and children and although they both wanted them in the future they agreed that they weren’t in a hurry. For the time being living together was enough, and Max still hadn’t gotten the opportunity to meet Liz’s parents, which would change, when they came home to Roswell for Christmas.

“Is it just me or are things too quiet lately?” Max asked her.

Liz chucked. “You’re right they are. I kind of like it this way but at the same time I miss the excitement too.”

Max shifted so that Liz could sit on his lap and he hugged her too him. “You’re right,” he agreed.

They sat in silence for a few minutes before Liz spoke up.

“Max?”

“Yeah?”

“I love you.”

Max grinned. “I love you too.”

Maria smiled as she looked around the packed room. Tonight was a special night at The Crash bar, tonight was karaoke night and Liz, Maria and Michael all had the night off.

“There is no way you’re getting me up there Blondie,” Michael informed her.

“Whatever you say Space boy,” Maria snickered as she thought about how Michael would react when he found out she had already sighed him up for later in the night.

“Ladies and gentleman to kick off the night could I ask the lovely Miss Maria Deluca to the stage?”

Liz, Max, and Michael clapped along with everyone else as Maria walked on to the stage.

“Dance?” Max asked Liz.

“I’d love too,” she agreed and let him lead her onto the dance floor.

“Have fun,” Michael smiled as he watched them go before she turned his attention to his beautiful girlfriend on the stage.

Tell me just what you want me to be
One kiss and boom you're the only one for me
So please tell me why don't you come around no more
Cause right now I'm crying outside the door of your candy store

It just takes a little bit of this
A little bit of that
It started with a kiss
Now we're up to bat
A little bit of laughs
A little bit of pain
I'm telling you, my babe
It's all in the game of love

This, whatever you make it to be
Sunshine set on this cold lonely sea
So please baby try and use me for what I'm good for
It ain't sayin' goodbye that's knocking down the door of your candy store

It just takes a little bit of this
A little bit of that
It started with a kiss
Now we're up to bat
A little bit of laughs
A little bit of pain
I'm telling you, my babe
It's all in the game of love

It's all in this game of love
You roll me
Control melyricstop
Console me
Please hold me
You guide me
Divide me
Into what...

Make me feel good, yeah

So please tell me why don't you come around no more
Cause right now I'm dying outside the door of your loving store

It just takes a little bit of this
A little bit of that
It started with a kiss
Now we're up to bat
A little bit of laughs
A little bit of pain
I'm telling you, my babe
It's all in the game of love

It's all in this game of love
It's all in the game of love
Yeah, in the game of love

Roll me
Control me
Please hold me
(make me feel good, yeah)

When the song ended Michael was waiting for Maria at the edge of the stage.

“Wow that was great,” he told her. “I had no idea that you could sing like that,” he said.

Maria smirked before she leant in seductively.

“There’s a lot you don’t know about me Space boy,” she told him.

“Good thing I have the rest of our lives to find out,” he replied huskily.

Maria smiled. “I think you might be right about that,” she said before she lead him over to Max and Liz who only had eyes for each other as they danced.

The game of love had been played. The stakes were high but they had all played and won.
