I am so confused, and everyone is talking at once, but then I hear a loud yell from the back room.

"Shit," I mutter, and then turn to Maria. "Go with Liz, I can't afford to get fired from this job. Fill me in later please?" I say, turning back to Courtney.

I follow her towards the back room. "What is he so mad about?" I ask her, still a bit confused. There is way too much going on.

"So Michael...how are you?" I ask my voice husky.
I step towards him. "Jeff said he'll be down in a minute and that I was to...keep you busy a moment" I tell him.

"MARIA!" I growl in a low voice, somewhat resembling Jeff.
I quickly hide in the kitchen out of sight.

Michael

I walk through the doorway to see that backroom completely empty. Courtney is standing next to me, a smile on her face.

"So Michael...how are you?" She asks, and her voice sounds a bit huskier than usual.

"Good, um, where is Jeff?" I ask, looking around, and feeling a little awkward.

"Jeff said he'll be down in a minute and that I was to...keep you busy a moment" She adds, walking closer. Too close for my comfort.

"But...I just, um, heard him."

"He's upstairs. He was just making sure you weren't gonna go anywhere...like he said...Im meant to distract you...entertain you" I say deliberately closing the gap between us further.
