I look up as Kyle comes over. What is this that I'm getting guys I know approaching instead of good looking girls? "Hey roomie, you look defeated," he says.
"What? Nah," I say, straightening my shoulders and wiggling my eyebrow at a girl at the next table. As she turns, I suddenly realize she wasn't the one I was trying to flirt with. Damn. This isn't a good night.
"Just checking out the scenery, ya know? I'm sure these babes are gonna love a guy who's being followed by a guy with a TV camera," I grin. "The girls from our house aren't the only cute ones here."
*Max*
When Tess tells me what she wants to drink, I turn to get it from the bar. I'm thinking to stop by and stand near Liz and Kels, anyway but when I look, they've been joined by Alex and Isabel. Quite a crowd. Probably I don't want to be part of that.
I move down the bar just a couple seats, trying not to watch as Alex hangs with the three ladies. And he thinks he needs help in that department? I know he's only interested in Isabel but anyone-else looking is going to be damn jealous with the bevy of beauties he has around him.
The bartender is fixing the drinks when I hear shouting behind me. It's Jake! I'm about to interfere, when I see that Alex is already leaping to Isabel's defense. Good for him, but I still head in that direction, ready to help. Before I get halfway there, Jake is slugging him in the face. I leap in with the bouncers, pulling him away.
Once Jake's been re-directed, I leave it to them and turn to Alex and the girls. He's still on the ground, his hand over his face as Isabel helps him to his feet, asking if he's okay.
Waiting for his answer, I look at Kels and Liz, who both seem shocked and worried. "Good try there, Alex," I tell him, with a pat on his shoulder. Too bad he didn't get a swing in first. If he'd managed to tag Jake as well as he'd done me, I'm sure Isabel would have been impressed.
Actually, this could even help the plan to get those two together. I remember how she fawned over me when I was hit. Maybe this is actually a lucky break for him ... assuming nothing is actually broken, of course.

What in the world just happened? I was sitting here talking with friends, and then next thing I know, Alex is getting punched by a jerk and Max is suddenly here to pull said jerk off of Alex. I almost can’t believe that it had happened, but then a lot of the things that have happened in the past week are pretty unbelievable when compared to what my daily life used to be.
Isabel is helping Alex up and asking if he’s okay, and I get the bartender’s attention. “Can I get an ice pack or ice in a bag if it’s not too much trouble?”
“Sure,” he says as he goes to get it. “That’ll be something to remember,” he says as he walks back over.
“Yeah. Definitely not something that happens every day. Thanks,” I say with a smile as I take the makeshift ice pack he’s handing me.
“You doing okay?” I ask as I walk over to where Alex is now sitting. I hand him the ice pack and wait for him to answer. “Next time you do that, try to not get hit. I think you’ll find that it hurts less.”
I guess dancing is going to be out of the picture for a while.
“I know I’ve said this before, but now I really don’t like Jake.”

Ruby, I really liked it, because this way, I didn't have to worry how Alex would react to Jake
ALEX
If Karma really exists then I guess Jake hitting me is payback for me hitting Max. God, where did the guy come from anywway? One minute we were joking and the next minute he's harrassing Isabel! I wonder if he ever hit a woman, he seems up for that.
As sudden as Jake came he's brought away again and Max is here instead of him, patting my shoulder as Isabel helps me up. God my face hurts but there is no blood so it is not that bad. I gracefully accept the ice cube Liz hands me and wince slightly when the coldness contacts with my poor and abused skin. I must have looked wimpy with how easily I fell down. I didn't even get to hit him back! Damn!
"Guys don't worry." I mumble to my friends. "This isn't as bad as it might look. Nothing seems broken, I'm not bleeding and I've been through worse. I'll survive. Just wait in a few minutes, I'll be dancing around again as if nothing happened."
KELS
Yet another proof that good looking guys are assholes. It's a good thing that Liz and the others stayed so calm, I'm still shocked by what just happened. Isabel is trying to get Alex's hands away from his face so she can get a look at him, guess she likes taking care of others and Alex is mumbling something that I can't understand over the loud music.
"Your life definately got more interesting in the last weeks." I tell Liz.
KYLE
I laugh at Michael's statement. "No, *our* girls certainly aren't the only beauties here. Lets just hope that the babes you wanna impress with our camera crew aren't shy about kissing and ... some other stuff in front of cameras."
I look around a bit. "Found anyone special yet or are you still looking?"

“I’m so sorry, Alex.” I say, taking the makeshift ice pack away from his eye so that I can get a better look. Already there is faint bruise starting to appear and I know that its going to end up getting a hell of a lot darker as the night progresses. “This is all my fault.”
Damn, why do I always have to be so arrogant? I knew that my dismissal of Jake would push his buttons, I just didn’t know that he would go all psycho and now, one of my friends have been hurt. And its all my fault. Guilt washes over me and I bit my lip to try and prevent the tears.
Carefully, I place the makeshift ice pack over his eye, he winces slightly but tries to smile.
“I’m fine, Izzy.” Alex says.
“No, you’re not.” I state, anger quickly take over all over emotions. How dare Jake hit Alex! How dare he hurt one of my friends! I’m going to make sure that hell rains down on that jackass. I’m going to call the cops and have his ass arrested and then I’m going to call my lawyer have him sue Jake for all he is worth! Jake is not going to get away with this!
“But you will be okay,” I add with a smile. “I’ll make sure of it. Dr. Model to the rescue!”

Dr. Model
ALEX
"Dr. Model?" I ask after a moment. Shouldn't she know that statements like this make men think of skimpy white outfits? At least it gets my mind off the current situation. Not that I should think of Isabel in a skimpy nurse outfit right now, I'll keep that imagine in the back of my mind for later use.
Then I frown, even though she's smiling she does not look happy. Since I really hope it is not because I look so horrible I guess it has to do with Jake hitting me in general.
"This is not your fault, Iz." I say, remembering her earlier words. "I don't remember you telling Jake to hit me so don't even think about blaming yourself!" I look sternly at her for a moment and then try to lighten the mood. "Sooooo, Dr. Model? Do I even wanna know about the meaning behind that?"

I walk back over to where Kels is sitting after giving Alex his ice. “Your life definitely got more interesting in the last weeks,” she says to me and I smile lightly.
“Yeah. I was just thinking the same thing. It’s not an everyday occurrence when one of my friends and roommates gets punched in the face. For no apparent reason.” It might not be everyday, but I’m really hoping that it’s not going to be a weekly occurrence, even though that’s what it looks like it’s shaping up to be.
I watch as Izzy is taking a closer look at Alex’s face. She is really fussing over him. I think that we did it. She is finally noticing what a great guy he is. At least she doesn’t think that he should be committed. That’s a big improvement in and of itself. I just hope, for Alex’s sake, that it’s more than just her wanting to be friends.
“I wonder where Tess is,” I say before I take another sip of my drink. “She’s the one that formulated this matchmaking plan to get them together. She should have seen that and this,” I say gesturing to the quiet way Izzy and Alex are smiling and joking with each other. It’s nice to see them really enjoy each other’s company. Good for them. And Izzy is definitely going to tell me all the details of what’s going on with her and Alex later tonight.

"Sooooo, Dr. Model? Do I even wanna know about the meaning behind that?" Alex asks and I can tell that he’s trying to lighten the mood and take focus away from his bruised eye.
“Its not as interesting as any of your stories, Officer!” I say with a roll my eyes.
“I’m never going to live that nickname down,” Alex mumbles and then tries to change the subject back to my own nickname. “Come on, tell me the meaning behind the name.”
“Its just a pet name one of the photographers that I model for has for me. Andy, that’s the photographer’s name, thought it was the funniest thing ever when I told him that I wanted to be a doctor. He like didn’t stop laughing for a hour and started calling me Dr. Model. Apparently, I’m too pretty to be a doctor and what a waste it would be when I could be a model.” I roll my eyes again. “It was just a stupid idea I had when I was seventeen and you see not interesting at all.”

Before I can comment further about the incident with Jake, Isabel is hovering over Alex and they're engaged in a private conversation. I see lots of smiles and I wonder what sort of secrets they're sharing. Whatever it is, it looks like things are going great for my roommate. I'm going to guess he'll figure a busted face to be a small price to pay for all that attention.
“It’s not an everyday occurrence when one of my friends and roommates gets punched in the face. For no apparent reason.” Liz says. I catch her looking at me through her eyelashes, and I know she's thinking about when Alex hit me. It might not be everyday, but two times is still a lot more common than I was expecting when I signed up for this.
“I wonder where Tess is. She’s the one that formulated this matchmaking plan to get them together. She should have seen that and this,” Liz says.
"She's over there at the table," I say, feeling a bit self-concious. "I was about to get her a drink." In fact, I see the bartender has finished the drinks and is carrying them over to me. I guess I did walk off on her. Fortunately, it wouldn't have been hard to follow my actions after the way Jake was drawing everyone's attention. As a point of fact, I'm the one who brought Tess into the Alex/Isabel scheme. She wasn't actually the one who started it, but I don't want to argue with Liz. "I'm quite sure she saw the whole thing. I think the whole club did," I add with a grin.
She's so unbelievably cute, especially when she smiles like that. She does things to me that nobody else does and she doesn't even know...

I narrow my eyes at that which I shouldn't have done because my eye really hurts when I do that. But ...
"What do you mean with he was laughing? You were telling him your dreams and hopes and he was laughing? He sounds like a jerk." I say. How can he say that? Crush the dreams of a seventeen year old girl! "So, you dont have any intentions of becoming a doctor anymore? That's a waste, I mean, you already are pretty good with tending bruised eyes."

I look from Liz and Max and then back to Liz. Guess I have to do something again. I'm just not sure what, after all, Max is carrying a drink for Tess so I can't force him to stay away from her.
"Since Isabel is concentrating on Alex, it might be a good time to ... plot some more." I suggest to Max and Liz, hoping that they'd both sit together and think about it.
