KELS

"So, you and Michael talked about the kiss and things are cool again between the two of you?" I ask then notice her untouched glass. "You could really take a sip, girl. It's just a strawberry diaquiri - nothing too strong."

ALEX

"Michael." I greet the guy as I step next to him on the bar. "Did you already order? If not, then your drink is on me."

I didn't really interact a lot with him lately and I have a feeling that it might be easier with a few drinks.

*Michael*

I'm leaning against the bar waiting for my drink when suddenly Alex appears next to me. "Michael. Did you already order? If not, then your drink is on me."

"I got it," I say, my voice low and grumbly, and I'm feeling slightly annoyed. I'm officially done with Maria now. Not that I've said anything to her, but concidering the silent treatment I've been getting, I'm pretty sure she's already decided on the same thing. I'm trying to pick up chicks here and Alex isn't exactly my idea of a wingman. "You ain't my type, Whitman."

I glance up at the bartender who is pretty damn cute but probably far more used to saying 'no' than 'yes.' No matter, there will be other willing subjects here, I'm quite sure.

*Max*

After sharing a dance, I guide Tess back to a small table. Dancing with her was lovely, as always, but somehow my mind was stuck on the things that Kelsey didn't quite say. I do need to have a private moment with her to make sure I understood what she was saying. (Maybe I should be talking directly to Liz, but Kels said she was shy. I don't want to scare her off.) I don't know what I'm going to do if I'm right, if she's right. If Liz really likes me. I'm with Tess now. I don't want to hurt her, but Liz -- I've wanted to be with Liz since the first that I saw her. It was only because I was completely sure that she wasn't interested ... Maybe I was wrong ...

"Thanks for the dance," I say, smiling at Tess. "It's so fun to spend time with you." She's looking around the club, too. Maria and Isabel made a good choice, I think. I notice that Kels is with Liz right now, sitting at the bar. I guess I won't be talking to either of them privately right now.

"Can I get you a drink?" I ask Tess, ready to go fetch whatever she prefers.

"You ain't my type, Whitman."

I glance at Michael surprised who himself is staring at the barkeeper. He'd probably prefer the term "checking out" though. I have to admit, I am slightly surprised, Michael was my last guess to decline a free drink. Oh well.

"Thank God for that." I answer his *not my type* statement dryly before paying my orange soda - I'm not a *drink and drive* guy, after all.

"Guess I'll see you around then." I say, looking around thinking about whom I should join - Liz and her friend, Max and Tess, Maria and Isabel, Kyle's nowhere to be seen.

Maria mumbles a quick nothing and I roll my eyes. That seems to be her answer for everything recently. Its like she has built this stonewall around her and no one can break through. Not even Michael, which is slightly ironic if you would ask me considering he is so bullheaded.

Sipping on my drink, I glance around the club. I definitely made the right choice going with this place. Its off the hook. Not too far away, Liz and Kels are deep conversation and I decide to head over and join them. It would be nice to get to know Kels a little better considering she is Liz’s best friend.

Strolling over to them, I flash them a smile. “Do you guys mind if I join you?”

I look down and back at my drink after a few seconds of looking at the two of them, listening idly as I hear Kels say something about Michael and the drink. I guess she didn’t see my earlier sip. I smile at her, deciding that I’m not going to let anything get to me tonight. It’s my birthday. My friends are here. My family came down. I am going to be nothing but happiness embodied tonight.

“Yeah. Things are okay now. I think. We’re probably not where we’d be if it didn’t happen, but we’re not someplace horrible.” This time I make sure to take a long sip of the daiquiri. I must admit it’s pretty good.

“Do you guys mind if I join you?” I hear Izzy ask before I see her standing by our section of the bar.

“Nope,” I answer with a grin. I don’t think Kels will mind Iz joining us. I actually think that she might like getting to know her since Izzy is my roommate after all. “Pull up a stool,” I say with a smile, “But you have to promise that you’ll come dancing with us as soon as we all finish our drinks. Deal?”

“But you have to promise that you’ll come dancing with us as soon as we all finish our drinks. Deal?”

“Deal,” I agree with a grin as I sit down on a stool. Across at the bar, I notice that Alex is looking in our direction and I give him a wave. I doubt that Michael is Alex’s first choice for a drinking companion and I don’t mean that in a nasty way.

Maria has disappeared somewhere as has Kyle. Max and Tess are somewhere around, probably making goo-goo eyes at each other.

Smiling at the two girls, I take another sip of my drink before asking, “What are we talking about then?”

KELS

"About how you guys are getting along." I tell the tall blond before taking yet another sip. "Seems like you all get along well."

Just then Alex comes over. "Ladies! That stool free? I'd hate to drink alone."

"Sure, grab a seat, the more the merrier."

"What are you ladies talking about?" Alex echoes Isabel's earlier question and I can't help and laugh.

"What?" he asks confused, looking around the table for help.

"Isabel just asked the same thing." Kels explains after she calmed down. Oh good, I already thought I had something between my teeth or dirt in my face.

"Great minds think alike." I shrug, flashing Isabel a grin.

KYLE

"Hey roomie, you look defeated." I say as I approach Michael at the bar.

Well, defeated might be a bit strong but he certainly does not look happy but then again ... when does he ever look happy?

Okay this post really sucks and did not turn out the way I wanted it too.
Trude, I hope that this is okay with you. If there's anything you want to change, feel free to say!

ISABEL

"Great minds think alike." Alex says, flashing me a grin.

I smile back. It would have been impossible not to. Alex’s boyish grin is too infectious. Recently, every time I’ve been around Alex, I can’t help but smile. Sometimes its because of the dorky things he says or the way he blushes when he catches me and Liz have some girl talk. And sometimes, well sometimes its just because he’s Alex. I know that doesn’t make much sense.

“That they do.” I say with a grin of mine own. Taking another sip of my drink, I listen with a smile to the conversation that quickly flares up and every now and again add some input to it.

“Isabel?” A familiar male voice comes from behind me and I feel the hairs on the back of my neck raise in dread.

Jake.

I had nearly forgotten about his existence and I’m more then slightly annoyed that he’s even in this club, let alone trying to talk to me. Maybe I should have kneed him a bit harder or added some kicks so that he got the message that I never wanted to talk to him again.

Turning around, I glare at him in utter distaste, “I’m sorry but do I know you?”

“That’s real mature, Isabel.” Jake says with a snort of disgust. “I need to talk to you.” He looks at Liz, Alex and Kels before looking back to me. “Alone.”

“Yeah, I don’t think so.” I glare at him before turning back around to face the others. Plastering a smile onto my face, I try and ignore Jake’s presence behind me.

Before I know what is happening, I’m being yanked to my feet and once again I am facing Jake.

“I said I need to talk to you,” Jake growls at me. God, how could I have ever found this guy attractive? He’s such a jackass under that charming mask.

“She doesn’t want to talk to you,” Alex states suddenly by my side.

“Its okay, Alex.” I state, smiling at him briefly before looking coldly at Jake. “I can’t deal with this. You wanna talk, fine talk but don’t think that I’m going to listen, care or be the slightly interested in anything you have to say.”

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you that I was married but its over now. I left Alexis.” Jake says, a pitiful look on his face. “I love you, Isabel and I want us to be together.”

“Aww, that’s a really sweet story but I am not interest.” I state, silently scoffing at his story. Yeah, I bet he left his wife right after she kicked his ass out of the house and of her life. At least, that’s what I hoped happened. “So if you could crawl back under the rock you came from, I could be really grateful.”

“Didn’t you hear me? I said I love you!” Jake says taking a step towards me and invading my personal space.

“Oh, I heard you but its your problem not mine.” I say before dismissing him completely. “Buh-Bye now.”

“You stupid bitch,”

“I think its time you left,” Alex says, once again playing my knight in shining armor. He steps in between me and Jake and I resist the urge to send Jake a smug smile.

“Get out of my way, Alec.” Jake growls trying to push pass him.

“No. Izzy doesn’t want anything to do with you. You had your chance and you blew it so leave.”

“And this is your chance to impress her?” Jake sneers. “She’s out of your league, boy. The geek never gets the supermodel so get out of my way.”

“No!”

And then it happens. Almost in slow motion. Jake swings, punching Alex in the face. I watch in silent horror as Alex stumbles back and some bouncers come rushing to drag away Jake.

“Oh my God, Alex. Are you okay?”
