Summary: Alex is still alive and Tess isn't evil. The Roswellians leave after graduation to keep themselves safe and end up in Smallville meeting Clark Kent and all his friends. Jessica Peterson is Clark's girlfriend and another alien. Chloe is keeping a secret from the whole group that could get them all killed.

Disclaimer: I don't own Roswell or Smallville though a girl can dream. Jessica is my own made up character.

Part One

Michael Guerin's eyes followed the pretty blond waitress in the small coffee shop in Smallville, Kansas. She was tall and had long hair that was pulled back out of her face with a barette. Her long legs carried her from one table to the next with a grace and ease he'd never seen in Liz or Maria or even Isabel. "Michael." Max Evan's voice cut into his daydream. He turned back to face his friend, taking his eyes off the girl as she disappeared behind the counter and spoke to a dark-haired girl before reappearing just as a dark-haired young man walked through the front door.

"Michael." Max said again and he finally turned to look at his friends. Maria glared at him though the others just looked curious. "There's something about her." He said softly causing Max and Isabel to exchange glances. "What is so fascinating about a smalltown waitress?" Liz Parker asked softly, shifting her position so she was closer to Max. Michael glared at her. "Not that it's any of your business Liz but she seems like she may hold the key to our existence." He said. Isabel turned to watch the blond kiss the young man on the cheek and then lead him over to a table a short distance away.

"Can I get you anything else?" The dark haired girl asked as she stopped next to their table. "Who is she?" Isabel asked, motioning to the girl across the room. The brunette turned to look. "That's Jessica Peterson. She lives with the Kents on their farm. Why do you ask?" She asked sharply. Isabel shrugged. "No special reason." She said. The girl eyed them suspiciously but turned on her heel and walked away. Max watched her go. "Some people in this town sure are strange." Alex said, speaking up for the first time. Kyle smirked and hid his face behind the menu he held in his hands.

'Uh guys don't look now but we got trouble." Maria said as the waitress said something to the blond and the girl shoved herself to her feet and walked over to their table. "Why are you so curious about me and my friends?" She asked sharply. Max shot a sharp glance at Michael as Maria and Liz nervously exchanged glances. "Look we didn't mean to upset you." Alex quickly spoke up trying to soothe everyone's fragile nerves. Jessica looked over at him before staring hard back at Michael. "Stay out of my way." She said before turning to walk away but Michael reached out and caught her arm, yanking her back around to face him. "Don't threaten me, babe." He snarled, just as the boy she'd been with ran across the shop and placed himself between them. "Let her go." He said angrily. "Clark." Jessica said softly trying to calm him.

Maria got to her feet and grabbed Michael's arm. "Let it go." She said. Michael glared at her but let go of Jessica's arm. "Let's get out of here Maxwell. Don't wanna stick around these hayseeds any longer they may grow on us." he said.

Before Clark or Lana could stop her Jessica hauled back and punched Michael as hard as she could. Everyone gasped and Lana grabbed Jessica, pulling her back before she could hit Michael again. "This don't look good." Alex muttered, as Kyle was trying his hardest not to laugh and even Tess had an impressed look on her face. Jessica glared across the room at Michael, the fury in her eyes unspeakable. Clark walked over and took her hands staring deep into her eyes. "Let's just go home, Jess." He said. Jessica sighed and nodded allowing Clark to pull her out the door. "See you tomorrow." Lana called after them and then disappeared behind the counter.

Max helped Michael up. Michael glared at his friends when he realized almost all of them had smirks on their faces. "It's not funny." He said, dabbing at his lip, which was starting to swell. Max shook his head. "You got what you deserved Michael." He said and went to pay Lana. The others went outside to the jeep and the jetta.


The following morning Maria awoke before everyone else and went to the Coffee shop. She smiled at Lana as she walked through the door. "Can I help you?" Lana asked. Maria smiled. "I'd like a cup of java and also I was wondering if you could tell me where the Kent's live?" She asked. Lana stared at her suspiciously. Maria smiled understanding why the other girl was so suspicious. "I just want to talk to her." She reaasured the girl. Lana nodded and filled a cup with Java for Maria and then gave her the directions. Maria thanked her and headed towards the farm. She pulled in the driveway and saw a handsome older man walk across the drive to the barn, though he stopped when he saw the approaching car.

Maria got out and smiled at him. He smiled back at her. "Can I help you?" He asked. Maria nodded. "I'm looking for Jessica." She replied. He smiled and turned towards the house. "Jess, you got a visitor." He yelled. Maria smiled at him and a moment later Jessica walked out the door, though she stopped when she caught sight of Maria. "What are you doing here?" She asked, walking towards her. Maria smiled. "I wanted to thank you." She said. Jessica's eyebrows shot up. "What for?" She asked. "For having the guts to put Michael in his place." Maria said with a grin. Jessica laughed. "That's not the first time I've done something like that." She admitted. Jessica paused and eyed her for a moment. "My friend Lana and I are going into Metropolis to do some shopping. Would you and your friends like to come?" She asked. " Are you sure your boyfriend would like that?" Maria asked, looking across the yard to where Clark stood staring at them. Jessica laughed. 'He won't care just so long as your boyfriend stays out of my way." She said.

Maria shrugged. "Michael isn't really my boyfriend anymore." She said. "Why not?" Jessica asked. Maria shrugged. "It's complicated." She said, just as a woman with auburn hair came out onto the porch. "Breakfast." She yelled and then saw Maria talking to Jessica. "Bring your friend on in here to have some breakfast." She said. Jessica turned to look at Maria who smiled and nodded, following the other girl to the house. Clark entered behind the two girls and sat down at his place as Jessica sat next to him and Maria sat across from Jessica. 'This is Martha Kent and you've already met Clark." Jessica said. Maria smiled at Martha. "Thanks for asking me to eat with you." She said. Martha smiled. Clark's and Jessica's friends are always welcome." She said, just as the door opened and Jonathan Kent walked in followed by Lana.

"Hey dad can we take Jess' car today?" Clark asked. Maria looked at Jess curiously. Jessica smiled and took a bite of her pancakes. Jonathan looked at Martha and shrugged. "Just be careful will you?" He said. The three teenagers nodded and promised they would.


Liz awoke to find Maria's side of the bed empty. She sat up and looked around and saw Isabel and Tess just starting to get out of their bed. "Did you hear Maria leave?" She asked them. The other two girls looked at her and shook their heads. "Maybe she's with Michael." Isabel suggested. Tess smirked. "After that scene that he created in that Coffee shop last night I doubt she's talking to him least of all spending time with him." She said. Liz laughed at that knowing that Tess was right. "That girl sure did pack a punch didn't she?" Tess joked, doubling over in laughter just as someone knocked on the door. Liz started giggling too and even Isabel was laughing so hard she could barely get up to answer the door.

Alex stood there looking confused. "Was it something I said?" He asked as Isbael stood there laughing. She shook her head and pulled him into the room, slamming the door shut behind him. He looked comfused when he saw all three of them laughing hysterically. "So Alex. How is Michael this morning?" Tess asked, smirking and nudging Liz who covered her mouth with her hand to keep a shriek of laughter from escaping. Alex laughed when he realized why they were laughing. "Michael hasn't said one word since last night." He said, just as a horn honked outside. Tess got up and went to the door and opened it to see Maria get out of the Jetta and a newer looking jeep pulled up behind her with three teens inside. "Look it's Michael's new best friend." Tess shrieked in laughter. "Hey let's go shopping." Maria said, hopping out of the Jetta and running over to the door.

"Count me in." Isabel said, coming out of the room and Tess nodded her agreement. Liz nodded too and came outside after grabbing her purse. "What about the guys?" She asked. "Jessica invited us all." Maria said and motioned to the jeep. The door next to the girls opened and Max, Kyle and Michael walked out. "What's going on?" Max asked when he saw the group in the hotel parking lot. Jessica slipped out of the jeep and approached, taking care to stay clear of Michael. "Lana, Clark, and I are going to Metropolis to do some shopping and I invited Maria to come with us." She said calmly. "You can all come." Lana said as she joined them. "Who all's going?" Max asked. Jessica shrugged. Maria walked over then. "All the girls are going." She said. Max nodded and looked over at Isabel and Liz as they joined them, followed closely by Tess who was still chuckling.

"I'm going too." Alex said and ran over followed by Kyle. "Who's gonna ride with who?" Max asked, deciding he wanted to go along too. "I can take two with me." Jessica offered. "Well in that case..."Max said and smiled at her. "You mind if Liz and I ride with you?" He asked. Jessica shook her head. "Not at all." She said with a smile. Michael muttered to himself as he got in the front of Maria's Jetta. Max helped Liz in the back next to Lana and then climbed in and introduced himself and Liz to Clark and Lana as Jessica got in and started the engine pulling out of the parking lot. She began to feel at ease with Max and Liz and was soon chatting with them like they'd been friends their whole life, instead of a few hours.

Suddenly black vans cut between the two vehicles and cut them off. "What's going on?" Lana screamed, as Jessica brought the jeep to a screeching halt. Max stiffened and grabbed Liz's hand. "They found us." He said. Jessica's eyebrows shot up and she and Clark exchanged a quick worried glance. "Who found you?" She asked. "The Special Unit!" Liz cried.

Part Two

Jessica turned to look at Max. "The Special Unit?" She asked incredulously, watching for his reaction. Max sighed. "I'll explain everything later. I promise, but right now we have to help our friends." He said, leaping from the jeep. Jessica paused for a moment and the followed him. Clark and Liz weren't far behind. "This can't be happening." Lana muttered as she slowly followed the others.

One of the men turned to face the approaching teens. "Stay back kids." He yelled, pointing a gun at Max. Jessica, Clark, and Lana stopped as Liz moved up next to Max. Maria and the rest of the group piled out of the Jetta. Sorry kids but you're all coming with us." The man said, ignoring Clark, Jessica, and Lana. Jessica turned to Lana. "Get back in the jeep and keep your head down." She ordered. Lana was confused. "Why?" She asked. "Just do it Lana." Clark snapped. Lana shrugged and went back to the jeep and did as they said. The man turned and looked at Clark and Jessica. "If you two know what's good for you, you'll back off now." He said.

Jessica shrugged and looked at him with ice blue eyes. "Well I guess maybe we don't know what's good for us." She said. "Look Miss, these kids are dangerous and it's my job to bring them in." He said. "They don't look dangerous to me." Clark said, moving closer to Jessica. Michael watched the pair face the agent as more men piled out of the vans and approached with guns. "You're gonna have to go through us first." Jessica said. The Agent smiled and reached out grabbing her wrist. "Well i guess we'll just take you and your boyfriend with us." He said. Jessica smiled coldly and shook her head. She swung and delivered a well aimed punch to his jaw and sent him flying through the air to land on the hood of the nearby van.

Everyone but Clark stared at her in amazement. But she didn't have time to answer their questions as more men with guns came forward, This time Clark went into superspeed and grabbed all the men's guns before they had time to get off even one shot. They all stopped when they heard Liz scream and they turned to see one of the agents dragging her to a van and tossing her in the back. "Liz." Max cried and started forward but both Clark and Jessica stopped him. "You aren't going to do her any good if you let them catch you." Jessica said. Michael walked over and joined them. "They're right Maxwell. We'll figure a way to get her out....together." He said, shooting an impressed look at Jessica.

Maria was crying softly in Alex's arms while Isabel and Tess were trying to calm her down. Kyle paced back and forth next to the Jetta, every so often glancing at the rest of the group. "Let's head back to Smallville. I think it's time to talk." Jessica said, going back to the jeep followed by Clark and Michael. "Where we going?" Michael asked as he climbed in the back of the jeep, and gave Maria a hand up. Jessica looked at Clark before answering. "My parents farm is the safest place." Clark said. "Can we trust them?" Michael asked anxiously. Jessica nodded and met his worried gaze in the rearview mirror. "Don't worry." She said and then looked at Clark, motioning her head towards Lana. He nodded. "Hey Lana. We're gonna drop you off at the Talon." He said.

Lana shook her head. "No Clark. I'm a part of this too." She said. Jessica shook her head. "Lana. We can't have you in danger and this is gonna be dangerous. I promise I'll call you if we need any help." She said. Lana nodded, not wanting to argue with her friend. Jessica pulled up in front of the Talon and let Lana out and then headed out to the Kent Farm. Maria was still crying, her head buried in Michael's chest. Once they all reached the farm Jessica headed for the barn. "Clark. Take them in the house while I find your dad." She said. Clark nodded and led the way inside where Martha was making some pastries to sell at the Talon. She turned to them with a smile, which quickly faded when she saw the looks on their faces. "What happened?" She asked. Clark looked at Max. "My girlfriend was taken by the FBI"S Special Unit." He said, just as the door opened and Jonathan Kent and Jessica walked in, both carrying rifle's.

"What's the Special Unit?" Jonathan asked, positioning himself so he could see out the door into the driveway in case anyone had followed them. Max started to answer but Michael interupted. "The Special Unit is a branch of the FBI that tracks down aliens." He said, ignoring the glare that Max and Isabel sent his way. "Why are they after you then?" Martha asked, fearing she already knew the answer. "Because their aliens." Clark said. Jonathan and Martha turned to look at Max as he shot to his feet. "How'd you know that? Did Michael tell you?" He yelled. "Take it easy Spaceboy. No Michael didn't tell us. See I sorta went into your head." Jessica said. Max turned to glare at her. "When?" He asked. Jessica smirked. "Back when those Men in Black decided they were going to cause a traffic jam and kidnap your girlfriend." She said.

Max jumped to his feet. "Why'd you do that?" He yelled, but Michael cut him off. "Take it easy Maxwell. Getting angry at each other isn't going to help us get Liz back any faster." he reminded his friend. "Well we better figure out something quick." Alex reminded them, fearing that they might kill Liz.


Liz was blinfolded and tied up after being thrown in the back of the van but all she was concerned about was whether Max and the others were okay. She didn't care about herself at the moment, she cared more about the rest of the group and whether or not any of them had been killed. Tears filled her eyes as she thought about what Max was probably going through worrying about her. She hoped her friends got her out soon.


Jessica sat down at the table, leaning the rifle against her chair and leaned forward. "If we can find out where she is then we can get her out." She said, looking at the others. Isabel nodded. "I can dreamwalk her." She said. Jessica nodded, not at all surprised. Isabel leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes, concentrating on Liz and suddenly the scene shifted and she was standing in the middle of a warehouse. "Liz.' She cried, running around looking for the missing girl. "Izzy." Liz's voice was muffled and frightened. Isbael turned and saw her. "Liz we need to know where you are so we can get you out." She cried, feeling the scene shift around her again and then she saw a sign that read LutherCorp. Suddenly she was thrown free and opened her eyes to meet everyone's anxious gaze's. "Did you see her? Where is she?" Max cried. Isabel gratefully accepted the glass of water from Alex and turned to her brother. "She's in a warehouse owned and operated by LutherCorp." She said.

Jessica and Clark exchanged startled glances and turned to look at Jonathan. "I think it's time I had a talk with Lex." He said grimly, heading for the door. Jessica jumped to her feet. "I'm going with you." She said. Jonathan started to argue and then nodded. "Okay. I may need you to get in his head anyway." He said. Max got to his feet and eyed them. "Where are you going?" He asked. Jessica stopped in the doorway and turned to look at him. "We're going to see Lex Luthor." She replied, as Michael got to his feet. "I'm going too. You may need me." He said. Clark paused and then followed them out the door. Max started to follow them but Michael stopped him. "You stay here Maxwell. We're going to take care of this." He said.

Part Three

Lex Luthor had just seated himself at his desk when his door slammed open, banging loudly against the wall and four people walked in. He looked from one face to the other, not understanding what was going on. Jonathan Kent shoved forward and stuck his face inches away. "Where's the girl?" He yelled. "What girl? Who are you talking about?" Lex asked, his eyes wide. He caught sight of the unfamilar teenager standing near Clark. Jessica shouldered the rifle she was carrying and pointed it at him. "We were attacked about an hour ago and one of our friends was kidnapped." She yelled, her wide blue eyes sparkling furiously. Lex stood up and stared at her. "I assure you Jessica I had nothing to do with it." He said, staring hard at the angry girl at the other end of the rifle, wishing Jonathan had never taught her to use a gun. Jessica laughed. "Then do you mind telling us why she's in one of the Luthercorp warehouses?" She snapped.

Lex's eyes widened and he walked around the desk closer to the girl holding the gun. "I had nothing to do with it, Jessica. I assure you." He said,watching out of the corner of his eye as Clark moved closer. "We need to know where that girl is. There's a lot of people worried about her." Michael said, speaking for the first time since they'd burst into the room. Lex looked over at the young man. "Who are you?" He asked. Michael smirked as Jessica eased around him and stood next to Jonathan. "This is Michael Guerin and he's from Roswell, New Mexico. The girl that was kidnapped was his best friends wife." Jessica said. Lex sighed and walked over to his desk and picked up his phone. "I'm gonna call my dad and see if he knows something about this." He said, turning his back on the group for a moment.

Something heavy thunked down on his head with a resounding crack and he sank to the floor. Jessica handed the gun to Jonathan and moved over to where Lex lay on the floor and placed a hand on his head, closing her eyes and breathing deeply. She was instantly in and looking around. She finally opened her eyes and looked up at the others. "He's telling the truth. He doesn't know anything." She said and took Clark's hand, allowing him to pull her to her feet. She turned back to Michael. "Let's get outta here before he wakes up." She said and led the way out the door and over to the truck. As soon as they were inside and heading out of the driveway Michael stared at Jessica who was sitting between him and Clark. "What powers do you have?" He asked. She smiled at him. "I can heal, which I usually don't use too often unless Jonathan or Martha get hurt or one of our best friends, I also dreamwalk and I can get into someone's head and tell what they're thinking, kinda like I did with your friend Max." She said. Michael looked impressed. "What else can you do?" He asked. Jessica smiled. "I can't show you here." She said.


When the truck pulled up in front of the house they saw a little green beetle in the driveway. Jessica sighed and took Clark's offered hand as she slid out of the truck and dropped to the ground. "I wonder what Chloe's doing here?" She said, walking through the door and into the kitchen. Max stood up and grabbed her arm. "Did he know anything? Did you find Liz?" He asked, his eyes searching her face desperately. Jessica shook her head. "He didn't know anything." She said and turned as Chloe walked into the room with Maria and Liz. She motioned to Clark, Max, and Michael. "We need to talk outside." She said. The boys nodded and followed her out to the barn. She turned to face them, worry on her pretty face. "Chloe knows something." She said. Clark started and looked towards the house. "What do you mean?" He asked. Jessica sighed. "Clark she's hiding something and we need to find out what it is." She said.

Max stepped forward. "Let's get Isbael and Tess." He said and disappeared, returning a few moments later with Isbael and Tess. Jessica looked at the two girls. "I need you both to help me get into Chloe's head." She said. Tess nodded and sat on a hay bale. "Tell us what you want us to do." She said. Jessica smiled at the other girl who returned it. "If Tess can make Chloe think she's asleep then maybe Isabel and I can walk through her head and look around." She said. Tess nodded. The girls gathered nearby and finally Tess closed her eyes and then a moment later Jessica nd Isabel went into the dreamwalk state and were surprised and horrified at what they saw. Jessica came out of the dreamwalk so suddenly she was left feeling dizzy and confused. Her legs gave out and she slumped to the floor. Clark surged forward and caught her in his arms. "What did you see?" He asked. Jessica looked up at him through worried eyes. "Chloe's working for Lionel Luthor." She said. "What?" Clark cried. Max and Michael came over and looked on in concern. Isabel placed a hand on the girls arm. "She's investigating you and Jessica Clark." She said.

Clark's eyes widened as he stared at the two young women standing before him. "Chloe's supposed to be one of my best friends." He protested. Jessic rolled her eyes and pulled away from him, striding across the length of the barn and going to the barn door, pulling it open a crack so she could see outside and then turned as Michael joined her at the door. "Well obviously her priorities have changed." She spat out, anger in her voice. Clark sighed and sank down onto a bale of hay. "What do you suggest we do about it?" He asked softly. Jessica turned back to face him and the others. "I'm gonna follow her." She stated calmly. Clark jumped to his feet and glared at her. "You're not going alone." He yelled. Before Jessica could say anything Michael moved forward. "I'm going with her." He said.

Clark shook his head. "I don't like it." He said. Jessica smiled, though Max, Isabel and Tess could tell that it was forced. "Clark you don't have a choice." She said. "And just what are the rest of us supposed to be doing while you and Michael go out and play Sherlock Holmes?" Kyle asked as he and Maria stepped inside, startling the alien teenagers inside. "Geez. Can you possibly make an entrance without giving us all a heart attack?" Tess squealed, smacking Kyle upside the head. "Ouch." He yelled. Jessica's eyes widened. "Where's Chloe?" She asked. Maria looked over at Kyle. "She just left." Alex said, rolling his eyes as he stepped through the door, joining the others. Jessica and Michael looked at each other and then ran for the door. "Was it something I said?" Alex called after them. Maria sighed and reached out, smacking him upside the head. "What?" He asked innocently.


Jessica hopped in the driver's side and started the engine of the jeep as Michael climbed in the passenger side. "She put it in gear and sped out of the driveway, going towards Smallville. "Do you have a cell phone?" Michael asked. Jessica nodded and reached into her purse and pulled out the phone, handing it to him. "What do you have in mind?" She asked, turning her head slightly to look at him. Michael grinned and dialed Maria's cell number into the phone and held it up to his ear, waiting for the blond human teen to answer. "Hello." He heard a moment later. "Maria it's Michael. Give the phone to Max will you?" He said, and then a moment later Max's voice came on. "What is it Michael?" He asked. "Have Clark and Maria go over to Chloe's place and look for anything we may be able to use and you take Isbael, Tess, Alex and Kyle to the Talon and see what you can find out from Lana about her." He said. Jessica looked over at him and reached for the phone. Michael handed it to her. "Max it's Jess. When you get to the Talon have Lana call Pete." She said. "Jessica." Max said. "Do it Maxwell. Just tell her Jessie said to call Pete. She'll understand." She said and then turned the phone off, putting it back into her purse.

Michael stared at her. "Who's Pete?" He asked curiously. Jessica laughed. "Don't worry. He's one of the good guy's. He's the only one besides Clark's parents that know's Clark and I's secret." She said. Michael smirked as he stared at her. He hated to admit it but he was becoming more and more attracted to her by the minute, though he knew he shouldn't be. Jessica was dating Clark. She was in love with Clark, though from the way they'd been acting he never would have known it if Lana hadn't told him. Jessica looked over at him, wondering why he'd grown so quiet. He suddenly turned to face her. "Do you think we're gonna be able to get Liz back?" He asked. Jessica nodded. "Don't worry Michael. I know what I'm doing. This isn't the first time I've risked my life to save someone else's." She said. Michael smiled and turned back to the road as she suddenly braked hard and swung into a back parking lot in town. He'd been so engrossed in her that he hadn't even realized that they'd reached Smallville until she parked behind a building and swung her legs out of the jeep and dropped to the ground.

Michael got out and joined her on the other side and they peered around the corner as Chloe walked into the Talon and started talking to Lana. "Why don't you trust Chloe?" Michael asked. Jessica turned to look at him. "She nearly got me killed awhile back and turned Clark against me for awhile." She said, starting to step out onto the sidewalk until Michael grabbed her arm and pulled her back around to face him. Before she could say anything, he took her face in his hands and kissed her full on the lips. After a brief moment he felt her hands entwine themselves in his hair and her respond to the kiss and if possible even deepen it. After a few minutes they both pulled away, gasping for breath, "Wow." She said, her face flushed but her eyes sparkling. "I....I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that." Michael said. Jessica shook her head and reached out, clasping his face in her hands and kissing him again. Michael's hands gripped her slender waist and pulled her closer.


Liz shook in fear, hoping Max and the others were all safe and that maybe no one had been hurt. After Isabel had first contacted her in her dream she'd heard nothing more and hoped that didn't mean that they'd all been captured. Tears slid slowly down her cheeks as she thought of Jessica and Clark who had revealed their own alien powers to try to help their new friends and in the end they may end up paying for it in the end. Every once in awhile she could feel Max's anger and heartbreak over her disappearance. "Please hurry Max." She murmured softly.


Max was driving to the Talon when he saw a couple on the other side of the street at the edge of the parking lot."That's Michael." Tess screeched. "Yeah and if I'm not mistaken that's Jessica that he's going at it with." Kyle said. Max braked hard and jumped out of the Jetta. "Michael." He yelled, his face red with anger. Michael and Jessica pulled apart and looked at him rather guiltily. "What are you doing?" Max yelled as the others ran over fearing there was going to be a confrontation. "Calm down Max." Isabel cried, seeing how angry her brother was and saw the look in Jessica's eyes as she turned towards the storefront. "Uh guys." She said. Alex, Tess and Kyle followed her gaze and gasped. "Max." Tess yelled. Max whirled around to face the others and caught a glimpse of one of the men that had grabbed Liz, walk into the Talon. "Max tossed the Jetta's keys to Alex. "I'm going with Jessica and Michael. Follow us." He said. Alex nodded and ran back to the Jetta as Jessica, Max and Michael got in her jeep and pulled out of the parking space so they could watch the man until he left the Cafe.

"Call Clark." Max snapped at Jessica. She nodded and dialed Clark's cell phone number. "Jessica. What's up?" He asked a moment after picking up the phone. "We've got a lead. Meet us at the Talon." She said and then shut the phone off and glared at Max.

Lana looked up from talking to Chloe and was surprised to see Jessica and Michael run through the door. Jessica ran behind the counter and leaned close enough to whisper in Lana's ear. "Call Pete." She hissed. Lana looked surprised and turned towards the tall blond her eyes wide as Michael glanced at Chloe and leaned against the counter. Lana grabbed Jessica's arm and tugged her to the back, motioning for Michael to follow them. He smirked at the look on Chloe's face and then followed Jessica and Lana through the door that led to the stock room. Lana stared at them as soon as the door was closed behind them. "What's going on?" She hissed, her eyes wide.

Jessica looked at Michael who moved forward. "We saw one of the men that took Liz come in here." He said. Lana's eyes widened. "I thought that man looked familar." She muttered, just as the door opened and Clark and Maria walked through. "What's going on?" Clark asked, looking from one to the other. "Michael and I saw one of the men that took Liz." Jessica explained quickly. Clark's eyes darkened. "Where is he now?" He asked. Jessica smiled slightly. "Don't worry! Max and Isabel are following him. We needed to tell you." She said, just as her cell phone rang. She reached to the phone on the belt of her jeans and pulled the phone free, flipping it open and raising it to her ear. "Jess here." She said. "Okay don't do anything till we get there." She said. "We're one our way!" She said and flipped the phone closed turning to the others in the room. "Let's go!" She said, heading for the door.

Lana followed them out to the dining room nearly running into Chloe as they came through the door. Jessica glared at the other girl and motioned her head at Clark who nodded and grabbed Chloe's arm, pulling her out the back door followed by Maria who thought he might need some help. Jessica and Michael kept going towards the door, pushing through to the outside where the rest of their friends waited, minus Max and Isabel who had followed the man. "What did you find out?" Alex asked anxiously eyeing Michael and the tall attractive blond with him. Jessica smiled at the lanky human teen. "Max just called. They followed the man to a hotel not far from Metropolis. We gotta go meet him and Isabel and decide what to do." She said, pulling her keys from her pocket and walking towards her jeep.

"What about Clark and Maria?" Tess asked, looking back towards the Talon as Alex followed Jessica over to where the Jetta and Jessica's jeep were parked side by side. "They're taking care of a little problem. They're okay." Jessica flung back over her shoulder as she stepped into the jeep and started the engine as Michael stepped up next to her and Alex, Tess and Kyle got in the Jetta and waited for Jessica to pull out of the parking lot. Jessica nodded at them and put the jeep in gear heading out of Smallville towards Metropolis towards the hotel that Max had described to her.

When they reached the hotel they found Max and Isabel right inside the entrance. "What are we gonna do?" Max asked, pulling them into a silent aclove where they would be hidden from view if their subject in question happened to leave, but they were also in the position where they could see him if he did leave. Jessica thought for a minute. "Nothing. Right now we just wait." She said. Max opened his mouth to protest her judgement but she held a hand up silencing him. "Do you really want to be responsible for someone else getting taken or hurt?" She asked firmly, her blue eyes full or gentleness but also a look that left no room for argument. Max dropped his gaze and shook his head. "No." He said sadly. Jessica nodded and then moved forward in one quick movement wrapping her arms around him.

Max buried his face in her hair breathing in her scent for a moment before letting her go and turning to the others. "Let's all go out to out wehicles and try to get sleep while we take turns watching. I'll do the first watch." He said, once again taking control of the situation. The others all nodded reluctantly and filed out to the cars. Jessica and Michael got back in her jeeo and she turned to him. "I'm going to climb in the back and get a little sleep." She said. crawling over the seat. Michael nodded and leaned back against the seat, closing his eyes but snapped them open a moment later when he felt Jessica's arms go around him and tug him back towards her. He smiled to himself and got into the back next to her, pulling her forward into his arms and kissing her hard on the lips. After about fifteen minutes of making out they both fell asleep.

Max's eyes widened when he saw the man come out of the hotel and he looked towards the other two cars. He jumped from the jeep and went to the Jetta opening the driver's side door, nearly knocking Alex out of the car. "We've gotta go. He's leaving." He said. Alex nodded and started the car as Max went over to Jessica's jeep to find Michael and Jessica asleep in the backseat with her head on Michael's chest and Michael's arm around her. "Wake up you two. He's leaving." He said and ran back towards the jeep as Jessica and Michael started crawling back into the front. The teens waited a few moments after the man left the parking lot to pull out and follow him at a safe distance. "We're coming for you Liz." Max muttered to himself.

Part Six

Jessica's hands clenched the steering wheel tightly as she followed Max and the others. She was nervous and had no idea why till suddenly she got hit by a vivid flash.

*Flash*
Screaming, gunshots, Liz laying on the ground blood pouring from a wound in her stomach, Max, Michael, and Isabel getting caught and taken away to be vivisected and studied as they died a slow and painful death.

*End Flash*

Michael saw Jessica's expression change and her eyes go blank. "Jess!" He yelled. Jessica made no movement as the jeep started to swerve and go off the road. Michael reached over and managed to take control of the wheel and pull over to the side of the road. Max and the others pulled over to and Max came back to the jeep, his eyes widening when he saw Jessica's blank expression. Max reached out and touched her instantly seeing what she was seeing. He yanked his hand back and looked at Michael. "Call Clark!" He snapped. Michael opened his mouth to protest but Max's look stopped him. Michael sighed and dialed Clark's number speaking quickly into the phone and explaining what was going on as Max stood nearby.

They were all surprised when Clark arrived a few moments later. "What the...?" Michael and Max cried when they saw him. Clark ignored them and went to Jessica and lifted her out of the jeep. "What happened?" He asked Michael as he knelt on the ground with Jessica cradled in his arms. Michael sighed and looked at the other teen. "She was fine one minute and then like that the next!" He said and looked at Max. Max shook his head. "I know why she's like that!" He said. Clark looked up at him. "She's having a premonition!" Max said as Isabel and Tess approached looks of concern on their faces. "What kind of premonition?" Michael and Clark asked in one voice. Max sighed deeply and ran his hands down his face. "If we go in there to rescue Liz today we're all gonna die!" He said dully.

Isabel and Tess gasped and paled as Jessica opened her eyes and blinked staring up at Clark. "Oh my God!" She cried and turned burying her face in Clark's chest. Clark tightened his arms around her as her shoulders began to shake. Max stepped back and motioned for Michael and the others to do the same. Michael scowled but did as he was told and stepped back watching Clark and Jessica. "Where's Maria?" He blurted out suddenly making Clark and Jessica lift their heads and stare at him. "She's with Lana!" Clark said and then turned back to Jessica. "I'm sorry I haven't been here for you Jess!" He said softly. Jessica smiled softly. "I'm sorry too Clark! I know you just wanted to protect me and that's all that matters!" She whispered. Clark smiled and kissed her gently on the lips before letting her go and helping her to her feet as he stood up.

Jessica smiled her thanks and turned to the others. "I'll be right back I need to talk to Michael!" She said softly and Clark nodded, watching as she walked over to Michael and said something to him and then they walked a short distance away.

Michael stood looking at Jessica. "I'm sorry Michael! I really like you but the fact is I'm still in love with Clark! That's not going to change and I'm sorry!" She said. Michael nodded and smiled slightly. "You're good for him Jess! You help bring out his human side! just like Maria helped bring out my human side!" He said sadly. "Do you still love her?" Jessica asked. Michael nodded. "Yeah I guess I do!" He said. Jessica nodded thoughtfully. "Then tell her Michael!" She said. Michael shook his head. "I don't think she feels the same way anymore!" He said. Jessica smiled. "You might just be surprised!" She replied and leaned forward kissing him on the cheek before turning and walking back to Clark. Michael watched her go and then looked at Max who's face was pale and haggard.

"We're gonna get her back Maxwell!" He said as he walked back over to his friends. Max shook his head. "I saw Jess' premonition Michael! If we go in there we're all going to die!" He said. Jessica shook her head. "No Max not all of us! Clark and I are going in!" She said, causing Max to protest but Clark held up his hand. "Jess is right Max! We weren't included in the premonition!" He said. Max shook his head. "I can't allow you to risk yourselves like that!" He said. Michael rolled his eyes and spoke up. "Maxwell would you shut up!! If you really want Liz back safe and sound let them go! They know what they're doing!" He snapped. Max looked at Michael his eyes full of pain and a deep sadness. Jessica moved forward. "Go back to the hotel we were at and wait for us there! We'll call you!" She said, as she turned back to Clark. Max nodded and watched as Jessica and Clark got in her jeep and pulled away heading towards Metroplois to rescue Liz.

Clark looked over at Jessica as he drove. "You kissed Michael!" He stated. Jessica's eyes widened and she looked over at him but he didn't look mad just curious. "Yes!" She said. "Clark nodded. "What made you decide to come back to me?" He asked softly. Jessica stared at him. "The fact that you're always here for me and you know what's wrong even when I don't!" She whispered. Clark looked at her his eyes full of a longing that Jessica had never seen before. She shifted in her seat and looked at him just as they pulled into the outer limits of Metropolis and headed for the LuthorCorp building where Liz was being held. "Later!" Clark promised as he pulled up in a lot not far from the building. Jessica's eyes widened. Never once had Clark ever mentioned that he wanted to make love to her. they jumped when a car pulled to a stop next to theirs and turned to see Tess and Isabel get out of the car.

Jessica shook her head. "What are you doing here?" She hissed as she slid out of the jeep. Tess smiled. "I just realized I wasn't in your premonition and I figured I could help by mindwarping them somehow!" She said. Jessica nodded and looked thoughtful. "You're right!" She agreed and then looked at Isabel. "You were in my premonition why are you here?" She asked. Isabel smiled. "I'm going to dreamwalk Liz and let her know you Clark, tess and I are coming in and what our plan is!" She said. Jessica looked at Clark who nodded in agreement. "Okay! Go ahead!" She said and watched as Isabel sat back down in the front seat of the Jetta and touched a picture of Liz and closed her eyes. Five minutes later Isabel opened her eyes and stood up and joined the others. "Let's go!" She said and they nodded walking towards the building. "We're coming for you Liz just hold on a little longer!" Tess murmured.

Part Seven

Clark and Jessics strode inside with Isabel and Tess flanking them. They all looked like they were going off to war and maybe in a sense they were because none of them knew how this was going to turn out in the end. Once they were inside Jessica turned to them. "We need to split up." She said. Tess and Isabel nodded in agreement. Before they could split up a man with a gun appeared and aimed it at the four teens. "Who the hell are you?" He yelled. Jessica smiled coldly and moved forward. "We're your worst nightmares. Now where's the girl?" She asked icily.

The man stared at the blond. "I'm not going to tell you that." He snapped. Jessica shrugged. "Well if you're not going to tell me then I guess we're going to do this the hard way." She said, and raised her hand, sending the man flying across the room. She stormed over to him and kicked the gun across the floor and crouched down placing her hands on his head and a moment later she was in.

*Flash*

She saw the man and Lionel Luthor talking. "You and your men got the wrong girl. You were supposed to get Clark Kent's blond girlfriend and then get the one's you were after." Lionel yelled angrily. Jessica's eyes widened but she maintained the connection. "What do you want with the other girl anyway?" The man asked Lionel. Lionel smiled evily. "She's his weakness." He said.

*End Flash*

Jessica pulled away her eyes wide and feeling unsteady as she swayed slightly. Clark who had been standing near her in case she needed help caught her in his arms and looked at her in concern. "What did you see Jess?" He asked. She looked at him, her eyes slightly glazed. "Lionel is after you Clark. We have to get Liz and get out of here." She mumbled. Clark nodded and helped her to her feet. Isabel and Tess looked at them from where they were watching the door. "Let's go." Jessica said, and headed down a long hallway.


Liz heard the door behind her open but since they had her back to the door she couldn't see who it was until she heard Tess' and Isabel's voices. "Liz." They cried and ran forward and untied her pulling her to her feet and into their arms. "Where's Max?" Liz asked, looking around and did a double take when she saw Clark and Jessica standing near the door. "Don't worry. He's safe but we have to get out of here." Jessica said. Isabel, Tess and Liz nodded in agreement and followed Clark and Jessica out into the hall.

"Damnit." Jessica yelled as alarms started going off. The five teens broke into a run and hurried outside. If Jessica saw men with guns she'd throw up her hand and send them flying back. Liz watched all this in amazement. They finally made it outside and piled into the jeeps and sped out of the parking lot, heading back for the hotel where'd they'd left the others waiting for them. Clark was at the wheel of the jeep so Jessica took the time to call Max.

"Hello." His voice came over the line sounding tired and sad. "Max it's Jess. We're out and on our way back. Be ready to leave as soon as we get there." She said. "You got her? You got Liz?" Max cried exitedly. Jessica smiled slightly. "She's fine Max. We're on our way." She said and turned the phone off turning to Clark. "What did you mean by later?" She asked. Clark glanced over at her and blushed. "Jess I know I've never told you this but I'm in love with you." He said continuing to blush. Jessica smiled. "I'm in love with you too Clark." She said. Clark's eyes fell on her face and trailed down her body hungrily. "Better pay attention to the road Clark." She said with a smirk. Clark blushed and turned back to the road embarrassed that she'd caught him staring at her.

They finally reached the hotel and pulled into the oarking lot where Max, Michael, Kyle and Alex stood waiting. Max rushed forward and pulled Liz into his arms holding onto her tightly. Liz held on just as tightly. "Um I hate to break up this little reunion but we need to get back to Smallville." Jessica said softly, from where she sat in the passenger side of her jeep. The others all nodded and piled into Max's jeep and they pulled out of the parking lot and headed back for Smallville. It wasn't long before Jessica fell asleep with her head propped up against the rollbar on the jeep. Clark kept glancing over at her watching her sleep.


Jessica was pulled back into some kind of premonition but this time it was Clark that they were after and they used her to get to him. "She's Clark's one weakness." Lionel Luthor's voice rang out in her head. She suddenly screamed and sat up, her long blond hair flying into her face and her eyes full of panic. She didn't even notice Clark pull over to the side of the road and stop until he reached out and caught her face in his hands. "Jess, what is it? What did you see?" He asked. She raised terrified eyes to his face just as Max approached. "What happened?" Max asked in concern. Jessica's eyes filled with tears. "This isn't over. Lionel is after Clark. She whispered.

Max's eyes widened and he looked at Clark. "Don't worry Jess he's not going to get me." Clark said trying to reassure her. Jessica shook her head. "They're going to use me to get to you Clark. I'm your weakness." She whispered. Clark pulled her closer and looked at Max over her shoulder. "Do you think one of you could drive this jeep so I can hold Jess?" He asked. Max nodded. I'm sure Michael or Izzy would be happy to." He said and returned to his jeep and spoke quickly to the others and a moment later Isabel and Alex hopped out of the other jeep and approached. "I'll drive." Isabel said and waited as Clark managed to crawl into the backseat still holding Jessica in his arms. Isabel took Clark's place behind the wheel and Alex climbed in the passenger side.

They pulled back onto the road and headed back into Smallville. When they reached the Talon Jessica looked at the others. "We need to stick togther now. This isn't over for any of us yet." She said. "What do you suggest we do?" Max asked. "We'll all stay out at the farm. I'll sleep with Clark in his room and the girls can have my room." Jessica said. "And since Max and Liz are married they can have the guest room." Clark added. The others nodded. "Um what about us?" Kyle asked motioning to himself, Michael and Alex. "Well one of you can have the couch and there's always the loft out in the barn." Clark said.

The others all nodded in agreement and found Maria inside with Lana and they all headed for the Kent farm. When they got there Jessica immediately headed for Clark's room saying she needed to rest for awhile and it wasn't long before Clark followed her. Jessica turned towards him as he stepped into the room and closed the door behind him. She moved around him and locked it with her powers and then turned back to Clark. "I thought you wanted to rest." He murmured, his eyes going over every inch of her body as she moved closer to him. Jessica looked slightly hurt and she turned back to the door. "Guess I was wrong about the "Later" She said, but before she could unlock the door Clark grabbed her wrist and pulled her back around and into his arms, crashing his lips onto hers.

She groaned and instantly started unbuttoning the flannel shirt he wore over his t-shirt and slid it over his shoulders. Clark pulled the shirt off without breaking the kiss and ran his tongue across her lips as he ran his hands up under her shirt. Jessica smiled and raised her arms permitting Clark to remove the shirt and then crashed her lips to Clark's again. Clark's tongue entered her mouth and danced with hers as his hands ran up her arms and stopped at the straps of her bra. She nodded without breaking the kiss and he slowly slid the straps down her arms. His hands reached up and ran lightly across each breast stopping to play with her nipples. Jessica's eyes snapped open and she screamed. Clark pulled himself out of her and looked at her in concern. "Jess what is it?" He asked. She didn't answer. Clark reached out and touched her gently but she didn't even move. He grabbed her clothes and put them on and then pulled his own on before opening the door and yelling down the stairs. "Max get up here." He yelled. A moment later Max came pounding up the steps with the others right behind him. "What happened?" Max asked, as he went over to Jessica who lay sprawled on the bed. "I don't know. She was fine one minute and like that the next." Clark cried, fear in his eyes. Max sat on the bed next to Jessica and reached out placing his hands on her head. As he formed the connection he saw the horrible things she had. "Oh my God." He said as he pulled his hands away. "What is it Max?" Liz asked quickly. Max looked up at the others in the room. "Unless we can change the near future all of us are going to die." He said.
