Prologue

"Finally summer vacation is here!" Alex beamed as he sang along with the radio as the red Jetta sped down the Mass turnpike.

"We should be in Cape Cod really soon. Liz you are going to love Capeside." Maria cried smiling looking at her friend with ray band sunglass eyes as she drove.

"You guys are going to love Isabel" Maria said as she turned up the volume on the radio.

"Yes it was nice of your roommate..."

“That’s rich roommate. Isabel is loaded. You should see the house. Can you say Party!!" Maria said as she swayed to the music.

"Well rich or not it still was nice for your roommate to invite us to her house for the summer." Liz said laughing as the wind whipped through her hair.

"Yes Izzy is a sweetheart. I love the girl the death. So when she told me I could stay with her for the summer and invite two of my best friends how could I turn her down." Maria said as she glanced down at her map before looking out towards the beach front scenery.

Maria Deluca and Isabel Evans were roommates at Emerson College in Boston. They couldn't have picked a more different pair of people to live together. It was like the female version of the odd couple. Maria was into music and was messy while Isabel was into fashion and was very clean.

Isabel was the fashion plate while Maria was "Not runway material" according to Isabel. Maria was bouncy and talkative while Isabel was snobbish and guarded most of the time. "The Ice Princess" as Maria lovely referred to her as. Maria was an independent girl while Isabel had a date with a different guy every week.

In the beginning they had their fights over their differences but over time they developed a really deep respect for each other and a deep bond of friendship.

"So are we going to meet any of Isabel’s friends?" Alex said as he eat the last of his potato chips and lay back in the back seat to soak up some rays.

"Yes you will meet "The Creekers" as Isabel and I call them. They are great, and Hysterical. You guys are going to love them." Maria said smiling.

"Oh and Lizzie Isabel’s brother is a total hottie." Maria smirked as she nudged her best friend in the arm.

"I meet him a few times when he came to visit Isabel at school and let me say DAMN! I died the first time I meet him. He is really sweet and a real smooth talker. You'll love him. Who knows maybe you will have a summer fling or even fall in love!" Maria said as she grinned at her friend.

"We will see Maria." Liz said smiling as she rolled her eyes and laughed at her best friend.

"Anyone for me Maria?" Alex said as he popped up from the back seat and pulled down his sunglasses so that they rested on the tip of his nose as he gave Maria a seductive look.

"Not a chance in hell Whitman! You will have to fend for yourself. This matchmaker is taken." Maria said laughing.

"Thanks Maria Thanks. You cut me deep you know." Alex said as he hit himself in the chest and laughed.

"Oh well I don't need you Deluca anyway. Look out Capeside ladies Alex Whitman has arrived your lonely days are over!" Alex said as he sprawled out in the back with his arms outstretched as if he was holding two ladies next to him as he bobbed his head to the beat of the music.

Liz and Maria burst into laughter and shook their heads. "Calm down their Ladies Man lets just make it to Isabel’s and then you can start having your way with the ladies." Maria said as she hit Alex with the map as she threw it into the back.

Alex Whitman and Liz Parker had been Maria's best friends since childhood and there was nothing better then spending a whole summer partying with them after a long and hard semester of college. Maria was so excited when they told her that they both could come to Capeside Mass with her and spend a summer with her closest college friends.

"I think her house is down this block." Maria said as she scanned the large cape style beach houses as the jetta made its way down the long street.

The car then stopped in front of a huge white mansion. "We have arrived. The party can start" Maria said as she and the rest of them hopped out of the car.

Both Alex and Liz stood their in shock as they got their bags from the back of the trunk. "It's huge" Liz whispered. "Wow talk about a house! Maria wasn't kidding" Alex surprised as he and Liz followed Maria as they made their way up the huge steps to the door.

"Now please be on your best behavior and try not to cause any trouble." Maria sighed as she rang the doorbell.

Alex and Liz causing trouble was the least of their problems from what lay behind the large wooden door and Liz Parker was about to be hit with it.

Chapter One

The door swung open as a tall blond haired girl flashed her pearly white teeth as she greeted Maria in a great big hug.

"Aw come here girl you made it." Isabel beamed as Maria, Liz and Alex entered the house.

"Yeah we got lost a little bit on the way but we made it!" Maria said as she pulled her huge suitcase behind her.

"Oh Isabel these are my friends Liz and Alex." Maria cried. Isabel turned and looked Alex and Liz up and down inspecting the new arrivals.


"Charmed" she smirked as she shook their hands. "So you must be the perfect Liz Parker that Maria talks about all the time. Is it true you are really a Harvard girl?" Isabel said sweetly.

"Um Yes. Nice to meet you." Liz said shacking Isabel’s hand.

"Alex Whitman at your service." Alex said star struck as he shook Isabel’s hand.

"Nice to meet you. Can I have my hand back?" Isabel said as Alex continued to shack her hand.

Alex then stopped. "Oh yeah sorry about that." He said blushing.

Isabel rolled her eyes and sighed she was all to used to the routine of guys falling over her.

"Anyway let me show you to your rooms so you can put your luggage away." Isabel said as she quickly turned and started walking down the long hallway towards the spilling staircase.

"They don't call her the Ice Princess for nothing. Give Isabel a little time to warm up to you. She is like this when she meets new people." Maria whispered to Liz and Alex as they nodded.

Isabel then showed them where they would be staying for the summer. Each of the three rooms was huge and decorated in the traditional Colonial New England style.

"Wow your house is beautiful." Liz said as she over looked the room that was complete with an ocean view from her bedroom window.

"Thanks my mom has a knack for decorating." Isabel said as she smiled at the small chestnut brown haired girl before her.

"Well if you are all done unpacking your things shall we go downstairs?" Isabel said as the four of them made their way towards the marble stair case.

"Sexy Izzy is that you?" a voice called from downstairs.

"Yes I will be right down and I bring guests." Isabel called as the four made their way towards the kitchen.

They walked through the white door and into the green colored kitchen.

"So this must be the Party Crew!" a tall and dark haired man said as he bounced off the kitchen counter and walked up to them.

“Do Ya Deluca. Long time no see." The man said smirking as he gave Maria a great big hug.

"Ladies and Gentleman may I present to you the ever smooth and very sexy Chris Wolf Evans." Maria said laughing as she held up her hands as if he was on display.

"So you think I am sexy." Chris said eyeing Maria as she laughed and hit him on the shoulder.

"Alex Whitman" Alex said extending his hand. "Nice to meet you Whit" Chris said smiling.

"And you are." Chris said as he looked Liz up and down.

Liz blinked her eyes. "Ok they say that everything is so post to go into slow motion but seeing double that's a first." Liz thought to herself as she blinked her eyes and then shook her head.

"Liz Parker." Liz said smiling as Chris shook her hand.

"Pleasure" he said flashing his drop dead smile that made Liz go weak.

"Oh and this is my identical twin brother Max." Chris said turning to his brother as he stared at Liz.

Max was very quite as he looked into Liz's eyes as Liz's heart leaped. Those amber eyes it was like he was seeing into her soul as she blushed.

"Will you quite staring and say something." Chris said as he hit Max on the back of his head.

Max broke out of his trance. "Oh um sorry. Max Evans." He said smiling weakly.

"You will have to excuse Max. He was always the shy one of the two." Isabel said annoyed as she rolled her eyes. She then turned and smiled at Liz as if to say she was sorry for her brother’s display.

"So what do you say we get this Party started!" Chris said as she wrapped his arms around Maria and Liz.

"Did you call The Creekers ?" Maria said as she looked at Isabel. "Yes as a matter of fact I did and there is a barn firer party on the beach tonight at Todd’s house. So we are all going.

"What do you say Liz you like to party." Chris said looking at her.

"It depends on what you mean by party?" Liz said smiling. "Wow Maria wasn't kidding Chris was gorgeous" she thought.

Chris laughed "Ha ha I can see your going to be trouble Parker. She's a keeper Deluca you scored big in my book" Chris said smiling at Maria.

"I told you that you guys were going to love my friends." Maria said smiling at Isabel.

"Well I say that we better get a move on if we are going to make it to the party in time." Isabel said smiling.

"Max are you coming?" Alex asked. Max smiled "Maybe later."

"OK cool. Well it was nice to meet you Max." Alex said as he joined the others. Max nodded as the group turned to leave.

"See you later Max." Isabel said looking straight ahead as she waved behind her.

Once they left Max turned and looked at the group laughing from the kitchen window as they made their way towards the huge dark blue BMW convertible.

"Can you spell P-A-R-T-Y" he heard Chris yell as they climbed into the car as Isabel turned on the car and blasted the radio as they left the drive way laughing as the drove into the hot summer night.

His heart ached as he watched his brother’s arm around Liz. He had seen it a million times girls crawling over his brother and falling for his seductive charms. He just hoped that Liz was different and would be able to resist the sly wolf Chris was.

Chapter Two

Max barged in to the bedroom and fell on top of the bed with a sigh. “I think I am in love"

"Nice to see you too Maxwell" Michael said looking up from his book at his love sick friend lying on top of his bed. He then took off his headphones and turned off his CD player as the melody of Metallica's "Enter Sandman" came to a halt.

"Hey Maxi" Kyle said as he and Tess were in a fierce game of Nintendo Mario cart as they hit into each other and waved the controllers back and forth in a frenzy.

"Hi Max. Oh no you’re not going to win this time Valentie." Tess cried as she tried to block his view of the TV by leaning over him.

"Did you guys hear what I said I think I am in love!" Max sighed hopelessly.

"And let me guess your twin brother got to her first?" Michael said.

"Bastard!" Tess screamed as she hit into Kyle as they played.

Michael shook his head. "So who is she?"

"Liz Parker." Max sighed. "You remember how Isabel invited her roommate Maria and two of her friends to stay over the summer. Well Liz is one of them. Michael she is amazing. She has this smile that is radiant and her hair is this deep chestnut brown. It is so long I bet it is so soft.

But her eyes. Michael her eyes are haunting I could lose myself in them forever." Max sighed as his eyes became hazy as visions of Liz danced in his mind.

"Wow easy there Romeo sounds like you got it bad" Michael said looking at his best friend.

"I'm hopeless Michael. She won't even look at me let alone talk to me. My brother already got to her first. And you know how Chris and Isabel love to gang up on me. So I don't have a chance in Hell." Max said annoyed.

"Aw damn it!" Kyle screamed as he threw the controller down in discuss. "How the hell did you beat me?" Kyle said as Tess did a victory dance in front of him. "Ha Ha I told you I would win!" She said grinning.

"Alright Harting you win this time but I demand a rematch." Kyle said laughing. "Ok fine." Tess said as she made her way towards the bed and sat down next to Max.

"So trouble in paradise." She said looking at her friend. "More like the world ended" Michael said looking at Tess. "Wow that bad." She said in shock as Max shook his head.

"It seems that Romeo here has fallen in love with the stunning and mysterious Liz Parker but his player twin brother got to her first before he could even make a more on her." Michael said recapping the events for Tess and Kyle.

"Well Max you came to the right place. So where is this dream girl of yours now?" Kyle said as he sat down next to Tess on the bed.

"At a beach party at Todd's house."

"So are you going?" Michael said as he leaned back into his chair and stared at his friend.

"Of course I am I have to see her." Max said as he looked up at the ceiling.

"Well we are going as well." Tess said smiling. "Yeah you need all the support you can get." Kyle said. "Plus I love crashing parties. What do you say Tess?" Kyle said looking at her.

"Do you even have to ask I am so in." Tess said as she kissed Kyle.

"Well it's settled then. We will leave here around 10 get to Todd’s around 10:30 cause some havoc for a while and call it a night while Romeo here can find his Juliet." Michael said smiling.

"Thanks guys." Max said smiling.

Michael, Kyle and Tess had been best friends since he could remember. Despite how different they were the four of them had an instant bond right away. Max knew that if there was anything bothering him that Michael, Kyle and Tess could make him feel better. There no place in the in the world he would rather be then spending time with them at Michaels.

"You know what will cheer you up some Mario Cart. What do you say Max?" Kyle said smiling.

"Sure your on Valentie prepare to die" Max said jumping up off the bed as he and Kyle sat down in front of the TV.

"Well I say we need some music." Tess said as she placed on of her CD's into the player. Soon the music of CrazyTown's Butterfly filled the room.

"What the hell is this crap?" Michael yelled.

"Oh come on Mikie G you know you love it." Tess said as she started dancing.

"Yeah right Tess I would rather be dead then dance to this bubble gum garbage." Michael cried as Tess tried to pull him up to dance.

"Oh come on Michael we all know you are a softie for this stuff. Besides this is what you will be hearing all night at Todd’s." Kyle said as he and Max laughed.

"Joy but on the way there we are so listening to Sabbath!" Michael said as he got up and danced with Tess as the four of them laughed.

Chapter Three

The music to the song Butterfly by CrazyTown filled the air as a huge group of people danced and laughed as fires blazed on the open beach.

"Welcome to Paradise" Isabel said smiling as Maria, Alex, Liz, and Chris entered the party.

Isabel’s social butterfly mode kicked in as she greeted everyone and strutted through the party and made her way into the huge house.

"Hey Todd." Isabel said as she kissed him on the cheek.

"You made it. “Kegs and Eggs” party till morning. The Kegs in the back." Todd said as he sipped his drink.

"This is my roommate Maria and her friends Alex and Liz." Isabel said as Todd shook their hands.

"Nice to meet you." Todd said as he took another sip.

"Chris what’s up man." Todd said as they exchanged a secret handshake.

"Good to see you." Chris said.

"What’s up" Todd nodded his head towards Liz. As Chris and Todd exchanged a mutual glance.

"Hi" Liz said smiling. "So can I get you anything to drink?" Chris said into Liz's ear. "Um sure." Liz said as Chris grabbed her hand and followed him into the back where the drinks were.

"Dawson Leery. Wow this is a surprise." Chris said to a tall man with blond hair.

"Hey Chris just observing the scene." Dawson said looking at him.

"For your next movie right?" Chris said laughing as he grabbed two bottles of beer opened them and handed one to Liz.

"This here is Dawson Leery film student and next up coming Steven Spielberg. May I present to you Liz Parker." Chris said as Dawson and Liz shook hands.

"Nice to meet you Dawson." Liz said as she looked into the mans smiling blue eyes.

"You too so what brings you to Capeside?" Dawson said looking at the pretty burnet in front of him.

"She is a friend of my sister’s roommate Maria." Chris said as he placed his arm around her.

"Yes Maria invited me and our other friend Alex to spend the summer in Capeside." Liz said smiling.

"Well welcome. If you need anything let me know." Dawson said smiling.

"Thanks" Liz said as she nodding. "Well I better get back to the destruction of young America. See you guys later." Dawson said as he made his way through the crowd.

"See ya Dawson" Chris yelled as he watched him leave. "So what you say Parker we have a party of our own?" Chris said looking down at her with seductive eyes.

"How about you introduce me to some of your friends and a dance and we will see." Liz said looking into his eyes.

"Deal" Chris said as he pulled her close as they walked through the party.

"Maria where did Liz and Chris go?" Alex said concerned. "They went to get some drinks." Maria said as she swayed to the music.

"You guys want to go outside. I think all of the Creekers are here." Isabel said as she handed Maria and Alex their drinks. "Sure let’s go." Maria said as she put her hands up and walked through the crowd.

A group of about six were crowed around a small firer as they talked and laughed into the hot summer night.

"Hey guys. I would like you to meet my friends." Isabel said smiling as she walked up to the group.

"Isabel" A girl with blond hair cried as she jumped up and hugged her.

"Jen-a-lish delish" Chris called as he and Liz walked up towards the group. "Chris Wolf. How are you?" Jen said as she hugged him.

"Really good." Chris said smiling.

"Anyway I would like you guys to meet my roommate Maria friends Liz and Alex." Isabel said as the group exchanged their hellos.

"Liz Parker." Liz said extending her hand to a guy with dark hair.

"Pacey Whitter. Dear god Woman you are gorgeous." Pacey said impressed at the beauty that stood before him. "Thank you." Liz said smiling.

"Nice to meet you. Joey Potter." Joey said annoyed as she shook Liz's hand.

"Oh come on Potter you know I think you are sexy. As a matter of fact I bet you are the sexiest woman I have ever had the privilege of laying eyes on." Pacey said smiling as Joey gave Pacey a death stair with her eyes before she smiled at him.

"And you my man are?" Pacey said as he went up to Alex.

"Alex Whitman" Alex said smiling.

"Wait the Whitman meets the Whitter. Dawson I think I just found my long lost brother. Welcome to the family man." Pacey said as he wrapped an arm around Alex. "You might just have to start looking for a new best friend Dawson." Pacey said as he laughed.

"Nice to meet you Alex. I’m Dawson Leery." Dawson said as they exchanged greetings.

"Please excuse the antics of those two. I am Jen Linely." Jen said as she greeted Alex and Liz.

"Hi Welcome to Capeside. I am Andy and this is my brother Jack McPhee." A bouncy blond hair girl said a she greeted Alex and Liz with a great big smile. "Nice to meet you" Jack said as she shook their hands.

"Come on and sit down. Dawson here was just telling us a scary story about how someone died on this beach." Andy said smiling.

"We don't want to scary them with our morbid side the first day. Sorry about that we are normally not like this." Joey said smiling.

"Not to worry." Liz said smiling.

"Come on Liz a luscious I introduced you to my friends I still owe you a dance." Chris said as he pulled her arm. "Ok bye guys nice meeting you." Liz said as her and Chris made their way towards the open beach to dance.

“So Parker tell me about yourself." Chris whispered into her ear as they danced.

"Well I go to Harvard. I am studying to be a Molecular biologist." Liz said as she looked into his eyes. "Wow you must be a smart cookie. That’s impressive. It's not everyday I meet a Harvard girl a sexy Harvard girl." Chris whispered into her ear as Liz went week in the knees.

"Um so tell me about yourself." Liz said blushing.

"Well if you must know I am studying to be an actor. Dawson was the one who really got me into the craft. Back in high school Dawson casted me as one of the leads in an independent film he was working on for the Boston Film Festival so after that I kind of got the bug." Chris said smiling as he pulled Liz closer to him.

"Wow that’s great. I really hope you make it." Liz whispered as she looked deep into his eyes.

“Me too. So Parker about that Party of ours?" Chris said as he touched her cheek.

"What oh right" Liz said breaking out of her daze. "Come on." Chris said softly as he and Liz made their way towards the crowed house.

"Oh god get me out of here!" Michael groaned as Max, Tess and Kyle made their way towards the crowed beach.

"Hey you wanted to crash the party so let’s crash it!" Kyle cried as he rubbed his hands together in excitement. "Come on I think I see Jen over there." Tess yelled as they made their way towards the group by the firer.

"Tess!" Jen cried as she hugged her. "Oh thank god you are here!" Jen said smiling. "Yeah I figured you could use some saving." Tess beamed.

"Oh great look who decided to show up. What are you doing here?" Isabel fumed. "Nice to see you too Isabel hope I didn't embarrass you by showing up with my friends." Max said coldly.

"You had to bring Michael!" Isabel said annoyed. "Nice to see you too Izzy." Michael smirked in disgust.

"Max you made it!" Alex Dawson and Pacey cried happily.

"Hey guys. Oh this is Kyle, Tess, and Michael Alex and Maria." Max said smiling.

"Hey. Let’s get out of here Maxwell." Michael said coldly towards Maria.

"Nice to meet you as well." Maria fumed. "God how rude can you be!" she yelled.

"Me being rude. It's more like you." Michael cried.

"Um hey Dawson you want to go inside with me so that my sister here doesn’t have a heart attack that her Other Brother is here." Max said looking at his friend in the eye.

"Sure Max. You guys want to come?" Dawson said as he looked at the group. "I'll go." Joey and Pacey said as they joined them.

"Pleasure always seeing you Isabel." Michael said as he left with the group.

Inside Todd's house Liz and Chris made their way up the crowed stair case towards one of Todd's empty bed rooms. Once inside Chris closed the door. Liz sat on one of the beds.

"I think Todd has some drinks in here. He usually stocks up ever room with something." Chris said as he spotted the bathroom where the tub was filled to the brim with all different kinds of alcohol.

"Shall we toast?" Chris said as he handed Liz a bottle. "Sure" Liz said as she opened up the bottle as Chris sat down next to her on the bed. "To new beginnings." Chris said as they clinked glasses and drank the sweet liquid.

Before Liz knew it she had had about 5 or 6 drinks and she and Chris were making out on the bed. "Your so beautiful." he whispered as he held her close to him. "Chis" Liz sighed as he placed kisses down her neck.

"Mmm" Chris murmured as Liz took his face in her hands and kissed him. Her hands then started to roam his body as he pulled her up closer to him and then placed her back down onto the bed. "Now this is what I call a party." Chris then started to pull her shirt up.

"Chris" Liz sighed. "I really should go." She said as she managed to pull herself up off the bed.

Chris groaned as he lay on the bed as the alcohol was taking its toll on him as he slowly was starting to fall asleep.

"Thank you for a great party." Liz whispered as she kissed him on the forehead and closed the door behind her.

Liz made her way down the stairway as she slowly walked through the crazy drunken mass of people. She then spotted a familiar sober face as his smiling blue eyes twinkled in the crowd.

"Hey Dawson Chris had a little too much to drink and pasted out. Do you think you could give me a ride home?" Liz said looking up at him.

"Sure" Dawson said as Liz started the feel the alcohol and leaned her tired body against his as they left the house.

The two of them walked along the beach towards Dawson’s car. Dawson helped her as he closed the door and hoped into the driver’s seat and turned on the ignition as he drove away from the crazy party.

Dawson helped Liz into the dark house and up the stars.

"Here I will take care of her. Thanks Dawson."

"Anytime. Night." Dawson said softly as he left the quite house.

Max carried Liz in his arms to her room. He had seen her leave with Dawson and wanted someone to be home to let them in when they arrived.

When they reached her room he placed Liz down onto the bed. He then took off Liz's shoes, pulled down the covers, and helped her into bed. He placed the covers over her and tucked her in. He then looked down at her and placed his hands on her forehead and threaded his fingers through her hair. It was as soft as he imagined it to be.

Liz then blinked open her eyes. "Max" she whispered as Max smiled as he looked into her tired eyes before she closed them. "Shh Liz. Get some sleep." Max whispered as he kissed her on the forehead as Liz slepted soundly as Max left the room.

Chapter Four

Liz yawned and made her way downstairs into the kitchen. She was still wearing her tank top and jeans from the night before when she entered into the sunny room.

"Look whose up. Not bad for your first night in Capeside." Max said as he looked up from his cup of coffee as he saw her enter.

"Oh morning...um it's Max right?" Liz said as she could feel her hang over taking its toll on her.

"Yes it's Max. So How you feeling?" Max said concerned.

"Sorry I get you and Chris confused sometimes. I am ok. Nothing a few tablets of Excedrin and coffee can't cure." Liz said as she smiling.

"Where are the others?" Liz asked as Max poured her a cup of coffee and handed her the bottle of Excedrin.

"They are still at Todd’s. It's usually his thing have everyone sleep over and making breakfast for everyone in the morning." Max said as he handed Liz her cup of coffee.

"Thanks." Liz then drank her coffee and swallowed the tablets.

"So did you ever make it to the party last night?" Liz said as she looked up from her coffee cup.

"No." He lied but he didn't want Liz to know he helped her last night when she was drunk or how he went to the party to keep an eye on Chris make sure he didn't do anything to her.

"I was over at my friend Michael’s house with my friends Kyle and Tess." Max said hoping she believed him.

"Well you miss quite a night. Tell Dawson I say thank you for the ride last night. I really appreciate it." Liz said as she rubbed her head.

So how long have you been up?" Liz asked looking at him.

"Not long." Max said as he drank more of his coffee.

"Was I really asleep for that long?" Liz said looking up at the clock which read 10.

"Yeah you were out like a light last night. You should go easier with the drinking next time tiger." Max said laughing.

Liz smiled "Yeah well I usually don't have that much. I don't know what came over me." Liz said shacking her head.

"Capeside is what came over you." Max said looking at her as Liz smiled.

"Speaking of Capeside are you hungry?" Max said as he looked at Liz.

"Yeah I am starving." Liz said smiling.

"Ok well we can get breakfast and then I can show you around the town if you want?" Max said as he looked into her eyes.

"Sure. Let me just get showed and change out of these cloths and then we can go." Liz said as she smiled and left to get ready.

"So where are we going?" Liz said as her and Max walked down the quant New England town of Capeside.

"You will see." Max said as they walked down the busy seaport street.

They stopped at a huge Victorian house and walked in as a sign above read Potter B&B.

"Hey Joey I didn’t know you were working today." Max said as Joey greeted the two of them.

"Yeah well someone has to keep this place from falling under." Joey said as she showed them to a table in the back.

"Hey Liz sorry about last night if I was a bitch, but my hormonally overly challenged boyfriend was at it again." Joey said smiling.

"Not to worry. Pacey is safe. You have no need to worry." Liz said smiling.

"Good. So what will it be?" Joey said sighing.

"Um just coffee and pancakes will be great." Max said as Joey wrote down the order. "Sure thing. I'll be back in a few." Joey said as she left with the order.

"So you come here often?" Liz said as she looked at the nice country setting.

"Yeah well Joey and her sister Bessie own the place. You see Joey's mom died when she was young and well her dad kind of fell into the wrong crowd and left them.

So it's just her and her sister. They are the nicest people and really hard working especially keeping the business together in the tourist season." Max said as Joey returned with their coffee.

"Thanks Jo." Max said as she placed the coffee down on the table. Joey then pulled up a chair next to them.

"Pancakes should be out soon. It's kind of slow today but I am glad. After last night I could use a break." She sighed.

"Yeah I hear ya." Liz said smiling.

"So how do you like capeside?" Joey asked as Liz sipped her coffee.

"It's so beautiful. I can't believe you guys live here." Liz said dreamily.

"Give it a month and the romance will fade and you will see just another pathetic boring New England tourist town." Joey said as she rolled her eyes.

"Oh sorry their I go again with the cynical side. I mean it's not a bad town I just have lived here my whole life so you can understand. But they have an awesome movie theater you guys should go sometime and their is always the creek." Joey smiling.

"Well I think your pancakes are ready. Let me get them." Joey said as she left.

"Give Jo a little while to warm up to you and you will see she is a really sweet person with a heart of gold." Max said as he watched his friend leave.

"I can see she is. She is really nice. So you meet her at school?" Liz said as she drank her coffee.

"No actually Joey is a friend of Dawson’s who I have been friends with forever. Max said as she shook his head. "I didn't go to Capeside high with them I went to boarding school in New Mexico. Joey is like a childhood friend of mine." he said as he drank his coffee.

"Wait did you say New Mexico. That’s funny I am from New Mexico. I went to West Roswell high. Too bad we didn't run into each other while I was still there." Liz said shocked at what a coincidence it was.

"Yeah too bad but your here now." Max said smiling at her with his liquide amber eyes causing Liz to slightly blush.

"Pancakes are here." Joey said as she placed huge stacks in front of them.

"Wow these look great." Liz said as her eyes widened. "I figured you could use a welcome to Capeside breakfast compliments of me." Joey said smiling.

"Thanks Joey." Liz said smiling. "Oh yeah I also forgot if you want to go to a good restaurant there is always Lerry's Fresh Fish Dawson’s parents own the place. It's great. We might actually head over their tonight if you guys want to come." Joey said smiling.

"That sounds great." Max said smiling.

"Ok good well enjoy breakfast." Joey said as she left Max and Liz alone as the morning rays shinned into the B&B.

Chapter Five

For the rest of the day Max and Liz explored Capeside. They went down to the pier where all the tour ships came in and shopped at the local unique shops. After ward they went to the Icebox for lunch with Joey.

"Wow it's already 3 we really should get going. I am sure Maria will be wondering what happened to me and will be in a state of panic by now." Liz said laughing as her Joey and Max walked down the crowed streets of New England fishing town.

"Yeah and if I know my sister she will cut off my head if I am not back by 5" Max said shacking his head.

"Yeah well your sister is not the most pleasant person to be around." Joey said laughing.

They then stopped at Joey's house. "Looks like this is my stop. I will see you guys tonight for dinner at the Lerry’s restaurant at 8. Oh and you might want to dress up a little it is kind of a fancy place. Ok see you then." Joey said smiling as Liz and Max said goodbye before leaving.

The group was all a buzz as Max and Liz entered the Evans mansion.

"Well look who the cat dragged in! Where the hell where you!" Isabel fumed as she looked at Max.

"Nice to see you too Izz. If you must know. I took Liz on a tour of Capeside." Max said staring his sister in the eye.

"A tour of Capeside. I'll give you a tour of Capeside." Chris chimed in as he wiggled his eye brows up and down at Liz causing her to blush.

"Chris will you quite it!" Isabel snapped.

"Well while you were out gallivanting with Liz we have been worried sick." Isabel huffed.

"Calm down Isabel. She was in good hands." Max said as he slightly smiled at Liz.

"Look if you are done yelling at me I really have to go I have better things to do then stand here and be treated like a child." Max said as he left the living room.

"I am so sorry you had to spend the day with my brother. You poor thing." Isabel said apologizing as she looked at Liz.

"Isabel it was fine. I'm fine" Liz said trying to calm her down. "Where are Maria and Alex?" Liz said as she looked around.

"Well Maria is outback tanning by the pool and Alex I think is with Jack and Jen but I could be wrong." Isabel said smiling.

"So I take it Liz you got the invite to dinner tonight?" Chris said as he smiled at her.

"Yes 8 o'clock sharp at the Lerry’s Fresh Fish." Liz said smiling.

"Good. Well if you two don't mind I am going to go and catch the last of the rays. Liz you are more then welcome to join us." Isabel said as she grabbed her towel.

"Thanks Isabel." Liz said as she watched her leave.

It was then just her and Chris alone in the living room. They were silent for a few minutes.

"Look Liz. I feel bad about what happened last night. You probably have a horrible first impression of me. I don't want you to think of me as that type of person. So...I want to make it up to you." Chris sighed as he looked into Liz's eyes.

"Look Chris I don't think of you as a horrible person. Last night was just crazy that's all." Liz said smiling as she shook her head remembering making out with Chris.

"I know but I feel horrible. Please let me make it up to you. Let me take you out to dinner please" Chris begged.

"But we are all already going out to dinner." Liz said as she looked at Chris.

"No I mean just you and me. Please Liz" Chris said as he took her hand and looked deep into her eyes.

Liz felt weak as she looked into his eyes. "Ok sure." she said softly.

Chris sighed and then grinned "OK well I will see you at 8 then." He said excited as he left the room leaving Liz feeling like she was on cloud nine.

"So what’s like the local band scene here?" Alex said as he walked along the streets of capeside with Jen and Jack.

"Well you will have to go to Boston for that. There are some great places there. Our friend Charlie is in a band in the Bean Town area. Joey sang with him a few times. Her roommate Audrey and I have hit up the local scene a few times. Jen said smiling.

The bands are pretty good we should take a road trip to Boston sometime." Jack said smiling as they entered the local coffee shop.

"Why do you ask?" Jen asked Alex as they placed their orders.

"Well back in day I used to be in a band called the Whits. I played bass and Maria would sing with us back in high school. We still some times get together with our friends Markos, Nickie, and Chris and just rock.

But it's been a while since we have done that. What’s your friend Charlie’s band like? Alex asked as they got their coffee and sat down in the huge red chairs around a small wooden table.

"Well it's pretty much a cover band. Play all kinds of music. Look if we go to Boston Jen can give him a call and see if you want to play with him." Jack said as she drank is coffee.

"Jack I don't know" Jen said as she looked at him.

"Oh come on Jen how awesome would that be. Charlie won't mind. Besides it would be a great time." Jack said as he looked at Jen.

"Alright. I will give him a call see what I can do." Jen sighed as she took a sip of her drink.

"Oh wow thanks guys that would be awesome. I will see if Maria wants to sing as well." Alex said as his eyes gleamed with excitement.

"So what time do we have to get to this Dawson Lerry social event?" Jack asked as he looked at Jen.

"We have to be there at 8 so we have about an hour and a half to get ready." Jen said as she drank more of her coffee.

"Yeah I better get back soon. Maria and Liz will be wondering where I am. Thanks guys for showing me around and for coffee." Alex said smiling.

"No problem. Glad you came to visit. Oh yeah Andy said that I think movie night at Dawson’s is next Friday." Jack said as he rubbed his head.

"Aw yes the time honored tradition of Movie night at Dawson’s. You will get used to it by then end of the summer. It's Dawson’s thing we all go to his house and watch old movies." Jen said as she looked at Alex.

"That’s fine with me I am always up for seeing movies." Alex said as he finished the last of his drink.

"Well we better go or else Andy will start to worry." Jack said as he threw out his empty cup. The three of them then left the shop.

"Well if it isn't Miss Night Owl! Where have you been?" Maria cried as she looked up from her chair and pulled down her sunglasses.

"She was outsight seeing." Isabel said as she grabbed a magazine and sat down on the folding chair.

"Well Max and Joey were nice enough to show me around." Liz said as she took a seat.

"Oh Liz you are going to love what I picked out for us to wear tonight!" Maria beamed as she took a sip of her drink.

"Yeah Maria and I hit up the Mall today. We got some killer outfits." Isabel said as she flipped through her magazine.

"Well we better get ready now if we are going to make it in time." Maria said as she got up and grabbed her towel.

"Yeah come on I will show you guys what I brought!" Isabel beamed as the three of them went into the house to get ready.

Chapter Six

"Oh my god Isabel that is gorgeous!" Maria cried as Isabel wore a shot black strapless dress.

"Thanks just a little number I picked up at New York & Co. I mean after all you can never go wrong with a black dress." Isabel said smiling as she pinned up her hair with a beautiful jeweled clip.

"Wow Liz you look amazing!" Maria cried as she saw Liz walk out in a thin strapped short red dress.

"Thanks Maria." Liz said smiling as she shrugged her shoulders and sat down on the bed to put on her satrapy black high heel sandal shoes.

"Come here Liz I want to do something with that hair of yours." Isabel said as Liz sat down at her vanity.

"Lets see...no...no...Defiantly not" Isabel murmured as she played with Liz's hair as Maria finished putting her shoes on.

"So Liz you and Chris?" Maria beamed as she looked at her friend.

"What about Chris and me?" Liz said as she felt herself becoming as red as her dress.

"Oh come on you so like him!" Maria said as she rolled her eyes and she looked at her reflection in the mirror as she adjusted her green low cut sun dress.

"Maria" Liz cried as Isabel pulled a piece of her hair and brushed it.

"You and my brother made quite the couple last night. If you play your cards right Liz you will be part of romance high society in no time with my brother at your side." Isabel said smiling as she pinned Liz's hair up and then pulled some strains apart so that they came down in wistful tresses to frame her face.

"Picture of pure elegance" Isabel grinned as Liz looked at her reflection in the mirror. Her hair was up in a loss bun with thin strains of hair falling down to frame her face. She smiled at her reflection.

"Thanks Isabel." Liz cried smiling. 'No problem leave it to me my brother won't be able to keep his hands of you!" Isabel grinned as Liz rolled her eyes and laughed.

"Well we better get going." Maria cried as they left the room.

The restaurant was dimly light as candles and white table cloths embraced the tables of the high class restaurant as the group made their way to their table.

"Wow you guys look amazing!" Andy beamed as she gave them all a hug.

"This place is incredible Dawson. Thanks for inviting us." Alex beamed as he sat down.

"Well thank my parents the restaurant was their doing." Dawson said as he took a sip of his drink.

"My Miss Parker pleasure seeing you again." Pacey beamed as he bowed his head in front of Liz as she laughed and took her seat next to Jen.

"But if you don't mind I have a date with the ever beautiful and elegant Joey Potter who happens to be in desperate need of a dance partner excuse me." Pacey said as he got up from the table and walked over to Joey. They then started dancing as Joey waved at Liz and the rest of the group.

"So how do you guys like Capeside?" Jen asked as she looked at Alex, Liz and Maria.

"Just amazing. It's so beautiful!" Alex said as he looked at Isabel.

"Well if you guys want we are going to go down and watch the boating races." Dawson said smiling as he looked over the menu.

"Sounds great" Liz beamed. "So Liz where do you go to school?" Andy said as she took a sip of water.

"Harvard"

Andy coughed and nearly chocked on her water. "I'm sorry did you say Harvard as in like the most prestigious college in the world as in the Harvard founded by John Harvard in the 1800’s!" Andy said in shock.

"Yes Andy The Harvard." Liz said shyly. "Wow you know Liz it was my dream to always go to school there however life doesn't always work that way.

I ended up finishing high school over in Italy and I loved it over there so low and behold I now go to college in Italy. But congrats that a huge honor." Andy said smiling.

"Thanks Andy but I must say Italy is pretty impressive as well. I loved it over there when I went last summer." Liz said smiling.

"I know it's such a magical place." Andy beamed as she closed her menu and placed her order.

"Care to dance Jen?" Dawson asked as he looked at her. "Sure I have been known to be graceful on my feet at times. We will be right back." Jen said as she took Dawson’s hand and started dancing with him.

"Alex I am going to the bar. You want anything?" Jack said as he got up.

"Actually I will go with you." Alex said as he followed Jack.

"Chris you made it!" Isabel cried as she hugged her brother.

"Well I have a hot date" Chris said as he grinned at Liz. "Shall we" Chris said as he extended his arm to Liz.

"Sure. See you guys later. Bye" Liz cried as her and Chris left the restaurant.

"Oh Max what a surprise. I didn't know you would be here." Isabel said as she drank more of her wine.

"Well I was invited." Max said looking at her. "Hi Maria" Max smiled as Maria nodded.

"Jack and Alex are at the bar if you are wondering." Andy said smiling.

"Thanks Andy I think I will join them." Max said as he walked over to where Jack and Alex were.

"Max you made it!" Jack beamed as he gave him a hug. "Yeah sorry I am late." Max said as he gave Alex a hug.

"That’s ok. Maria is at the table with Isabel the rest are dancing not sure where Liz went." Alex said as he paid for his drink.

"I saw Liz leave a few minutes ago. I think she is outside by the pier." Jack said as he grabbed his drink.

"I am going to get some air. See you guys later." Max said smiling as he made his way outside.

Max walked outside the water from the pier shinned in the dim street lights. In the distance he could see two figures walking. The man had his arm wrapped around the woman and he could hear the echoes of their laughter.

He saw the man hail a taxi as Max walked closer.

The taxi stopped and the man opened the door to help the beautiful woman inside.

Max felt his heart dropped as the woman turned in what felt like slow motion. She was stunning and breathtaking in the moonlight as her smile light up her face.

It was then that he realized it was Liz and the man she was with was his brother Chris. Chris saw Max and pulled Liz closer to him as Liz looked on at Max who looked like he had just seen a ghost.

Her eyes almost looked like they were saying "I'm so sorry" as she looked deep into his amber eyes and smiled weakly before Chris pulled her into the taxi and slammed the door shut.

The taxie drove off into the night leaving Max alone with the haunting image of the woman he loved. Who was now nothing more then just a dream.

Chapter Seven

"A Rob Roy. Actually make that a double." Max said to the bartender.

"Whoa you ok man?" Jack asked as he eyed a very distressed Max.

Max then downed his drink and winched as the bitter liquid went down his throat. He then slammed the glass down on the table.

"You don't look so good Max are you sure?" Alex asked concerned.

Max paid for his drink and tipped the bartender. "Story of my life...Yeah I'm fine." he muttered as he shook his head.

"So how are you guys?" Max asked trying to be cheerful. "Pretty good are you staying for dinner?" Jack asked as he drank his drink.

"Um actually I just remembered their something I have to do. Tell Isabel I am sorry. See you guys." Max said as he quickly left the restaurant.

"So Dawson how is the script of the movie you are working on coming along?" Jen asked as the group sat down for dinner.

"Um well it's still in the developmental stages." Dawson’s shrugged.

"So the Academy Award script hasn't even been written yet" Joey said as she took a sip of her white wine and eyed Dawson.

"Give the man some space. I mean after all the creative genius of Dawson Lerry is not a matter to question. If I know him the wheels are already turning in that twisted head of his." Pacey said as the group laughed.

"Actually Pacey you are not totally off. I am taking a more of a twisted approach in this next piece. Not Hitchcock but something along those lines." Dawson said smiling.

"Well I am sure what ever it is it will be great." Andy said as she ate her meal.

"Where is Max?" Isabel said as she scanned the restaurant for her brother.

"Oh um he said he was sorry but he forgot he has something to do." Alex said as he looked at Isabel.

"Typical probably had to so something with that freak Michael. Why he is friends with him I will never know." Isabel sighed as she rolled her eyes.

"Wait that was that rude and selfish guy with the spiky hair we meet last night right?" Maria chimed in as she looked at Isabel.

"Yes that freak of nature is Michael Guerin. He and Max have been friends since childhood. I swear that boy is a walking stone wall. Oh and don't get on his wrong side or else he will go A wall on you." Isabel said as waved her hands in frustration.

"Yeah the way he acted towards me last night was so out of line. I mean doesn't that boy know any manners!" Maria said flustered.

"If I didn't know better I think you like him Maria." Alex said laughing.

"Oh please Alex in your dreams. Their is no way I would go out with Space boy! I have other things to worry about like Liz and her love life." Maria sighed.

"What ever you say Maria." Alex said shrugging his shoulders as he smiled inwardly knowing full well Maria wouldn't get this worked up over a guy unless she liked him.

"So Joey I hear you sing?" Alex asked as he looked at her. Joey looked at Alex surprised. "Um well I guess. I sang with Jen's friend Charlie once. Why do you ask?" Joey said as she shrugged her shoulders.

"Well Jen and Jack told me that you used to sing and that your friend Charlie is in a band in Boston. I used to be in a band Maria and I called The Whits I played bass and Maria would sing with us sometimes. I was wondering if maybe you would sing with us. I mean that is if we get in touch with Charlie and take a road trip to Boston." Alex beamed.

"Well I will have to see. I am not promising anything but if we go I will make an exception." Joey said smiling.

"Oh awesome Road trip to Boston!" Jack cried as everyone laughed.

"Whoa easy their boy. Nothing is set in stone yet." Jen said laughing.

"But a road trip to Boston would be so exciting right Dawson, Pacey, and Joey?" Andy said excited.

"Yeah it would be." Dawson said smiling.

"Then it's set. We will go to Boston for the Fourth of July what do you say?" Isabel asked as she looked at the group.

"Count me in!" Alex cried as everyone laughed and then started talking about the up coming road trip.

The ocean water crashed along the shore as Chris and Liz walked bear foot hand in hand after a lovely romantic dinner.

"So Chris why is your middle name Wolf?" Liz asked as a cool breeze whipped past her as she clutched her shoes in the other hand.

"Because I am slyer then a fox" Chris said grinning as he looked at her.

Liz laughed. "No the real reason is because it was my grandmothers madden name so our mom loved her name so much that she gave me the middle name of Wolf." Chris said as he looked at Liz.

"Well it's a nice name. It suits you." Liz said smiling.

"You think so Parker or should I say Little Miss Red Riding?" Chris said raising an eye brow as he eyed Liz in her short red dress.

"Yes why Chris what big ears you have." Liz said as he touched Chris ears.

"The better to hear you my dear." Chris said enjoying her little game.

"And what big eyes you have." Liz said batting her eyes up at him.

"The better to see you my dear." Chris said as he gazed deep into her eyes.

"And Chris what a big mouth you have." Liz whispered as she came closer to him.

"The better to kiss you." Chris said as he engulfed Liz into a long sweet and passionate kiss. They pulled each other close as they kissed in the moon light.

They then looked at each other and smiled as they walked hand in hand towards the docks.

Chris kissed Liz as they made their way into the house and towards her bedroom. "Well I guess this is good night." Liz sighed.

"Yes see Liz I'm not that bad after all." Chris said smiling.

"Thanks again Chris for a wonderful night." Liz said softly.

"My pleasure." Chris whispered as he kissed Liz one last time.

"Well good night." Liz sighed.

"Good night." Liz whispered as she closed her bedroom door.

Chris whistled as he walked down the hall way. "Oh Hey Max how’s my other half doing tonight." Chris said as he stopped when he saw Max in the hallway.

"Look Chris I don't know what your little game is but leave Liz alone." Max said firmly.

Chris laughed. "Well, well, well look what we have here it seems my brother does have feelings." Chris smirked.

"Look Chris what you are doing is wrong playing her like this. It's not right. Just leave her alone ok." Max said firmly.

Oh don't worry when I am threw with Liz she will forget all about you! After all Max she wants a real man not some shy pathetic boy!" Chris smirked.

Max then grabbed him by his shirt and pushed him into the wall. "Chris I mean it. Leave her alone!" Max hissed.

"Fine then, may the best man win. Well shall see who wins Elizabeth Parkers heart." Chris spat as he looked deep into Max's burring amber eyes. Max then slowly loosened his grip.

"Good night Chris" Max said in a low voice as he walked away.

Liz got changed and ready for bed. She then pulled down the covers of her bed and on her pillow saw a signal long steamed white rose with a note attached to it.

She sat down on her bed and smelled the sweet scented rose and then opened up the card which had her name written across it.

Inside was a note which read Sweet Dreams

Chapter Eight

Liz woke up in a daze as the morning rays filled her room. She had the most mysterious and erotic dream. If was as if she felt the presence of a spirit near her at night. Although she couldn't see the person she felt something almost as if the soul was apart of her.

She shook her head and blinked her eyes as she still felt the flush on her cheeks.

"That was strange." she whispered as she slowly got up out of bed and glanced over at the white rose she had received the night before in a crystal vase.

Its white petals glowed in the golden light. Liz smiled as she saw the beautiful flower and the note that was next to it.

"Liz are you up!" she hear Maria call from downstairs breaking Liz out of her haze. "I will be right down!" she called as she quickly got dressed.

Liz walked down the stairs and saw the group at the bottom steps chatting.

"Oh good Liz your right on time. We are going to the boat races today!" Isabel beamed.

"If we hurry up we might be able to see Pacey boat True Love set sail." Alex beamed as Liz reached the bottom step.

"Chris is waiting in the car. Let’s go!" Isabel said as she put her sun glasses on.

Isabel. Maria and Alex grabbed their stuff and headed out the door. Liz was just grabbing her bag when she looked up and smiled.

"Hi Max." she beamed as he walked into the hallway.

"Morning Liz. Did you sleep well?" He asked as he looked into her eyes.

"Like a dream." she said breathlessly surprising herself as she blinked and looked up at Max.

"How did you sleep?" Liz said once she was able to control her breath.

"Very well." Max said softly as Liz looked into his eyes and then glanced at the floor then back into his liquid golden orbs.

She blushed and smiled. "Um well I really should go. Isabel is waiting." Liz said as she moved away from him.

"See you later Max." Liz smiled before she walked out of the house.

"Bye Liz." Max smiled as he watched her hop into the car and drive off.

The harbor was all a buzz with the locals and seasonal tourist as they watched the boats race down the pier.

"Dawson, Alex. Ladies you made it!" Pacey said as he jumped off the side of his boat.

"Wow your boat is amazing!" Maria cried as she looked at the beautiful vessel in front of her.

"My pride and joy. True Love has never let me down." Pacey said as he smiled and gave Joey a kiss.

"Well I hope you win." Andy cried as Jack and Jen followed behind her as she walked up to the group.

"Thanks Andy. Look my boat doesn't sail until noon and I could use a little help. Dawson, Alex, and Chris care to help?" Pacey said eyeing the three.

"Sure" They said.

"Arr my scaly wages climb aboard with Caption Whitter at your side she will be sailing smoothly." Pacey said as the four of them climbed the ship.

"OK well we will see you Pirates later." Joey said shacked her head and smiled as the rest of the group walked along the crowed streets.

Maria and Isabel paired off to go and see what sales they could find at the local booths while Joey, Jen, Andy, and Jack walked down the pier enjoying the beautiful sunny day.

"So do you think Chris will actually finish College this year?" Jack said as the group walked along the stone streets.

"I think so but my bet still stands for 4 years it's not until I see him walk across that stage at Emerson that I will believe it!" Jen cried.

"What do you mean if he finishes?" Liz asked confused.

"Well you see Chris has this history to jump from school to school. You see back in high school he started at Kennedy for a year, then jumped to California and went to Sunnydale High, The he spent some time in Sherman Oaks..." Joey said as she thought and counted on her fingers.

"Oh and wasn't there a rumor he was in Japan for a while?" Andy chimed in.

"Yeah but that was for a summer I think?" Joey said still thinking. "Then eventually he finished up his last two years at Capeside High." Joey said as she finished counting on her fingers.

"Why is it that Chris moved so much?" Liz asked shocked.

"So he could have ho's in different Area codes." Jack said laughing.

"No the truth is that Chris was going to boarding school at Kennedy but fell into some trouble so he switched to SunnyDale High however he fell into some Gothic cult gang there.

Then at Sherman Oaks he sort of cracked and went through some mental depression problems. So his parents thought it was best that he take some time off. So he went to Japan for the summer and that fall he ended up at Capeside High." Jen said as she finished the story.

"Oh wow I didn't know Chris had so many problems." Liz said as she looked at Jen.

"Well he doesn't have any problems now. I guess high school is not cut out for some people. However he is doing really well in college. The only problem that Chris has now is girls." Jen said laughing.

"You can say that again. That boy is a walking player!" Andy said laughing.

"I think he at one point hit on all of us. Even you Jack I think he had a thing for you too." Joey said laughing.

"But Chris is not gay like I am. Not that I mind him hitting on me hell I would hit on him. But still I know for a fact that he isn't." Jack said laughing.

"Look Chris is not a bad guy just something to be aware of." Jen said as she smiled at Liz.

"Thanks. Wow Jack I didn't know you were gay." Liz said looking at Jack.

"Yes I am. Why is that a problem?" Jack asked looking at Liz.

"Oh no not at all. That’s cool." Liz said smiling.

"Yeah well don't him this but your friend Alex I thought was kind of cute but I soon realized that he is totally straight and has a huge crush on Isabel. He was telling me last night at the bar how much he loves her." Jack said smiling.

Liz laughed "Wow that’s funny. Yes Alex won't stop talking to me about Isabel the other night. Poor boy he's got it bad." Liz said as she rolled her eyes.

It was noon when the groups all meet in front of Pacey's boat.

"Oh look who showed up The 4 square!" Isabel groaned as the group of four made their way towards them.

"Hi Isabel. Funny running into you here!" The blond cried happily.

"Save it Harting! Why are you here?" Isabel said giving the blond with the curly blond hair a death stair.

"To see the boats of course." Tess beamed as she squeezed Kyle’s hand.

"Hi Izz nice to see you. Oh and you too Blondie." Michael smirked as he looked at Maria.

"Who they hell are you calling Blondie Space boy!" Maria yelled.

"Wow hot and spicy are we. I better make a mental note of that for next time. See you guys." Michael smiled as he left.

"Bite Me!" Maria fumed as she watched him leave.

"Liz where are you going?" Maria cried as she saw her friend leaving.

"To talk to them." Liz said innocently.

"You are going to talk to those FREAKS!" Maria said as her eyes popped out with shock.

"Maria get a grip. I will be right back." Liz said as she waved her friend goodbye.

"Hey wait up." Liz said as she hurried up to Michael.

"Sorry about my friend there." Liz painted as she ran to catch up.

Michael then turned around. "You friend well tell your friend to get some manners and leave us the hell alone." Michael yelled as he started walking faster.

"Wait please. I'm Liz." Liz said as Michael stopped and turned to look at her.

Liz are in the Liz Max was head over heals in love with. He stared at the girl in front of him. She was perfect for Max. She was small, thin but not too thin, long chocolate brown hair, and brown eyes. Yes she was defiantly Max's ideal woman that he would describe to him as his dream girl.

"I'm sorry did you say Liz. Names Michael. Michael Guerin. Nice to meet you." Michael said as he shook her hand.

"You too." Liz said smiling. Her smiled defiantly made Michael envious of Max. She was truly beautiful when she smiled.

"Oh um Kyle, Tess this is Liz." Michael said as they greeted each other.

"Welcome to Capeside. I am Tess and this is my boyfriend Kyle." Tess said as she shook her hand and smiled.

"Liz. It's nice to meet you." Liz said smiling.

"Oh hi Max." Liz said smiling as he grinned at her.

"So I see you have met my friends." Max said smiling at the group.

"Hey Max the races are about to start you want to come and watch?" Kyle said as he looked at his glowing friend.

"Sure. Liz you want to come?" Max asked as he looked at her.

"Love to." Liz said smiling as she walked close to Max.

"You are going to love the races they are awesome!" Tess beamed as she looked at Max and smiled at her friend’s happiness.

Chapter Nine

The rest of the afternoon was spent in great excitement as the boat races continued.

Max, Liz, Kyle, Tess, and Michael watched on the pier as Pacey boat True Love raced down the blue lagoon with much speed.

At the other end of the pier sat a very different story as Maria was worried sick as to where Liz had gone off to.

"Isabel do you think she is alright?" Maria said concerned.

"Relax Ria she is fine" Isabel said as she looked through her binoculars at the races.

"Oh come on!" Jen yelled as she saw Pacey's boat take the lead.

"They are almost at the finish line!" Jack yelled as he saw True Love race towards the ropes. The two vessels were neck and neck it was going to be a close one.

"It's a photo finish!" Andy cried.

"And the winner is Summer in first with True Love in second place." The announcer yelled as the crowed cheered.

"Thank you for coming to the Annual Capeside Boat Race" The announcer said as he handed out the awards.

The group came running up to Pacey to congratulate him.

"Second place Jo! Second place! I don't get it my girl was doing fine. The wind was in her sail her speed was up to pare and yet I get second place to some Seath guy from California!

I don't get it. Just because he is form California does not make him an expert in sailing. Did he put blood sweat and tears into making his boat." Pacey said shacking his head as he extended his hand towards the huge red sunfish sail boat in front of him.

"Pacey let it go. There is always next year. Besides I still think you are number one in my book" Joey said as she kissed him.

"Oh great just what I need the anti-pacey club" Pacey said as an officer came up to him.

"What did I do to get the privilege of having Dougie Whitter grace me with his presents?" Pacey said rolling his eyes at his brother.

"I came to congratulate you." Dougie said as he took off his sunglasses.

"Sure Doug I bet I wasn't too much of an embarrassment to the Whitter name. Isn't there someone you could be ticking or better yet happy hour at the gay bar starts at 2." Pacey said laughing.

"Look I wasn't here to give you a hard time and I am not gay!" Dougie said annoyed.

"Sure I feel the Dougie Whitter Story on Lifetime will be a real hit. I bet you will even be on Larry King and I will have the honor to say to Mr. Larry King with tears in my eyes that Yes Larry I knew for years that my brother was gay!" Pacey said fake crying as Joey tried not to laugh.

"I"M NOT GAY PACEY!" Dougie yelled frustrated.

"OK Ok I'll let it go but one day you will look at your little brother and say yes Pacey you were right. And I will look into your eyes and say I told you so. I live for that day." Pacey said as he grabbed Dougies shoulder and looked him in the eye.

Dougie shook his head at his brother. "Nice to see you again Joey." he said smiling.

"You too Doug." Joey said trying not to laugh as she saw the looks he was giving to Jack form across the way.

"Well I have to go got to keep the peace around here. Enjoy the rest of your day." Dougie said as he put his sunglasses back on and walked away.

The group then burst out laughing at the interaction between Pacey and his brother. "Alright well if we have had enough of the Whitter show lets head on down to The Ice Box to celebrate." Dawson said as the group made their way towards the Ice Box.

They all sat down and got a table as Pacey ordered some food and a picture of beer as they placed the second place trophy in the middle of the table.

"Oh Liz when did you get here?" Maria said in shock. "I was here the whole time saw The Whitter show and all." Liz said laughing.

"Oh Alex this is Kyle, Tess, and Michael." Liz said as she introduced Alex to Max's friends.

"Nice to meet you all. Care to join us?" Alex said smiling.

"Um actually we were just leaving. If we go now we might be able to see the sunset over the harbor." Tess said. "Well we will see you later. Nice meeting you." Kyle said as Alex and Liz waved them goodbye.

"Well look who showed up. Hey Max-a-million!" Chris said eyeing his bother from across the room as he stood by Liz.

"Hey Chris." Max said giving his brother a death stair as he approached.

"Hi Chris!" Liz said as her eyes glowed and gave him a hug.

"Did you have fun babe seeing the races?" Chris said giving her a kiss on the check.

"Yes I did. Max was nice enough to show me around and spend the day with his friends." Liz said smiling.

"Did he?" Chris said smirking as he eyed Max giving him a silent look of death.

"Well tonight I'm going to take you to meet some of my friends." Chris said as he wrapped his arm around her as Liz's face lit up.

"Really" She said smiling as she looked up at Chis.

"Yes." Chris said smiling back.

"Thanks Max for taking care of her." Chris said smiling at his twin.

"Sure no problem." Max said in a low voice as he watched Chris walk away with Liz around his arm.

"You want to go some where?" Dawson said looking at Max.

"Um yeah sure." Max said looking at his friend.

"Look Pacey congrats but I have to get going." Dawson said as he gave Pacey a quick hug.

"Sure you ok man?" Pacey said concerned.

"Yeah I'm fine. See you guys later tonight." Dawson said as he climbed into Max's black jeep he lovingly called Bob.

"So this Liz girl she is something. She reminds me a lot of Audrey Hepburn. I might be able to use her in my next film." Dawson said as he and Max drove down the highway.

Max didn't say anything but looked ahead. "That was really jimmy Stewart like what you did for Liz being at the house and taking care of her after the party. I am glad she is ok." Dawson said looking at Max.

"Yeah I am glad she is ok. Listen Dawson can we not talk about Liz." Max said as he sighed.

"Sure. You want to come over to my house for pizza and a movie?" Dawson said as he looked out the window.

"Actually that sounds like a great idea." Max said smiling weakly a night out with friends was just what he needed to take his mind off of Liz.

Isabel, Maria and Jen danced at the party to the music as Jack made himself another drink.

"Great party!" Alex said smiling as he walked over to Pacey.

"I told you my brother. Welcome to a ladies man paradise." Pacey said as he drank his beer.

Alex laughed as he took a sip of his drink and watched Isabel dance.

"Why so down my brother?" Pacey said eyeing Alex and then saw that he was looking at Isabel.

"Aw it seems that my man has been struck with the ice princess's beauty." Pacey said smiling.

Alex rolled his eyes. "Yeah but I don’t have a chance in hell." he sighed hopelessly.

"Wait look at who you are talking to I practically invented the book when it came to winning a woman’s heart and if truth be known under all that ice is a loving warm heart just waiting to be set free." Pacey said as he wrapped an arm around Alex.

"With my help I guarantee that Isabel will be yours by the end of the summer. I mean after all what are brothers for. With the Whitter by your side Whitaman this plane is full proof." Pacey said as Alex and him smiled and clinked glasses.

"Thanks I owe you." Alex said as he smiled and swayed to the music.

"That’s why I am the man." Pacey said as he put on his sunglasses and bobbed his head to the music.

Chris and Liz were off in their own little world as they danced and drank at the crowed party.

"So Chris I hear you get around?" Liz said smiling.

"Oh I get around alright." he said smirking.

Liz laughed. "No Jen told me about you and high school." Liz said looking at him.

"Oh yeah well that was a crazy time in my life but it's over now that was in the past. I am more focused now. I can't wait to graduate this year." Chris said as he spun Liz around.

"Yeah well I heard you went to Japan. How was it?" Liz said her eyes wide with excitement. "It was amazing. It changed my life. The culture over there is incredible it really made me think and focus a lot of what is important to me and in my life. I am really grateful my parents sent me there." Chris said as he walked with Liz outside of the crowded house.

"I always wanted to go and travel. I went to Europe for a semester and I loved it. It was amazing. But Japan that’s a place I would love to see." Liz said as she held Chris's hand.

"Yeah I would go back in a heartbeat if I could. Maybe we will go sometime." Chris said softly.

"I would like that." Liz said as she kissed him.

The party raged on into the wee hours of the night. Chris and Liz decided that they had had enough and headed for home.

They were still kind of tipsy as they entered into the house and they both laughed as Liz had trouble finding her footing.

They then kissed and made their way upstairs in between kisses.

They held each other close as they made their way down the hallway towards Liz's bedroom.

"Chis um I really should go. Don't want a repeat of my first night in Capeside." Liz said breathlessly.

Chris blinked in surprise normally he was used to girls just ending up in his bedroom. "What!" he said breathlessly.

"Chris I said I really should go and get some sleep. Thank you for another amazing night. See you tomorrow." Liz said as she kissed Chris one last time before she closed her bedroom door.

She looked on her pillow and on it again was yet another long steamed white rose with another note. This time when she opened it the card read
