Prologue

18 months later; May 2003

It’d been almost a year since her and Cole’s beautiful baby boy Bryant “Balmathar” Turner came into the world and her and Cole pledged their love for each other in front of her Clan. Tonight was a well-needed night out with her friends, her father, who absolutely adored his grandson, was watching him tonight.

For the past two months there had been on going battles between the Ticatra Clan and the Charmed Ones. Seems the middle sister, Phoebe, Cole’s ex, went on a vengeance gig. Phoebe didn’t necessarily want Cole back but she wanted him to pay for all the pain he caused in her life. The middle Halliwell had been keeping all those feelings bottled up and when she couldn’t take it anymore she went on a rampage.

Unfortunately for her she was killed, by her own sisters no less, as a result the older sister, who had been killed almost two years earlier was resurrected so she and her sisters could continue being the Charmed Ones. The three witches hadn’t bothered her family at all since then, according to them their Whitelighter had explained that Liz’s family was neutral at this point in time and it was only because of Phoebe that they were attacked.

Now her family and the Charmed Ones were on good terms with each other, they’re not inviting each other for tea or anything but they weren’t trying to kill each other either. Another reason for this night out was because all her friends were back in town.

Michael never left Roswell, preferred to stay in the one place he considered home, Maria had gotten a music scholarship to a school in New York, she’d been back for almost a week, and last Kyle just returned yesterday from his year long road trip. After senior year he wanted to see the country, so after an impromptu going away party he packed up his Mustang and off he went.

As for Cole and her they moved into a nice two-story home in the neighborhood where Diane and Phillip Evans live. When Max and Isabel left with only a video message as their goodbye the Evans’s practically ceased to exist. Nothing mattered now that their children were gone, it took almost a year for the mother and father to get back to living their lives as best they could. They weren’t back to normal of course but they were living, she doubted they’d ever be back to normal as long as Max and Isabel were gone.

Cole began working with Phillip Evans at his law firm, picking up the slack when Phillip was to catatonic to work. Liz had graduated with Honors, almost made Valedictorian but Becky Ann Dravenport got that honor. Now Liz was working as an assistant scientist at Meta-Chem the same place Michael worked security. She was also going to college part-time, she would have liked to go full-time but that would mean less time with Bryant and that was something she didn’t want to do.

“Hey Liz,” Maria wrapped her arm around Liz’s waist from behind, “Come back to the land of the living,” she giggled a little tipsy from her margarita. Liz had been staring off into space for the last five minutes and had completely missed Kyle talking about a girl he met up with in Cleveland; her name was Faith and had an affinity to handcuffs and whips.

“Sorry, I was just thinking about what’s been going on these last few months.” She shrugged. “Ok, I heard something about handcuffs?” Liz rose an eyebrow.

“Figures that’d be the only thing she hears.” Cole smirked at his wife, the comment earned him a smack on the arm.

“Hey, I don’t hear you complaining when I bring out the cuffs.” He leered at her as he pressed closer to her body before leaning down to whisper in her ear.

“Of course not, I love the cuffs, especially when you’re in them.”

Maria gave a gagging symbol to Michael and Kyle. “All right, all right, you sex crazed demons be a little considerate of the people who aren’t getting it on a daily basis.” Behind her the bartender placed the water she ordered down smiling not in Maria’s direction but in Kyle’s who was leaning over the bar checking his messages on his cell not paying the least bit of attention.

Michael noticed the stare the guy was giving Kyle and couldn’t help the snicker that escaped. Once the bartender slowly eased away to help another customer Michael slid up to his friend. “You know Kyle you could solve that getting laid problem you’ve been having these past couple of weeks.”

“Really?” He glanced around the club. “Do you see any hot blonde bombshells that are checking me out?”

“No, but I see an overweight middle-aged gay man that’s giving you the eye. You should try to get his number, or just to prove to you what a great friend I am I’ll ask him for you.”

“Is it my fault that I'm so damn irresistible that no gender is immune from the full Kyle package?” With the music changing from a popular dance hit to a slow song that was made to hold your lover close the teasing was placed on hold.

Liz and Cole made their way toward the dance floor their love for each other so palpable that anyone could see it if they just glanced at them. Maria was asked by a guy she knew in high school, while Kyle and Michael continued to jab around at the bar. None of them had any idea what was about to disrupt their relatively happy lives.

Thank you everyone for the wonderful feedback. I love reading it. So glad you're happy to see the continuation of the series. I meant to post it much sooner than this but I drew a blank for this chapter until recently. Figured I better hold off on posting it till I got over that hump and I have. Hope you enjoy the chapter.

Chapter 1

Space

Stars, space junk, and the milky rings of the galaxy zoom by the ships window as it hurdled passed them. Over two years since most of the ships occupants had been on Earth, two newcomers were there to watch and protect King Zan and Queen Ava, and two others were from another prominent Royal Family.

"Max," Isabel in her long flowing off white gown that royalty wore when they were staying in, tapped on the door of her brother's room with her knuckles. "Max, open up I need to talk to you." Nervousness and irritation laced her words.

The chrome door opened with a swish. Tess and Max lay on the bed with baby Zan in between them. While not on Antar anymore their rooms were no less lavish. Both King and Queen demanded all the amenities of home before they'd return to Earth.

Gold chandeliers, one over the edge of the bed, the other in the bathroom, bathed the silver and red room in light. The walls were steel, even their status couldn't change that, but the carpet was red and soft, Tess walked barefoot all the time on it.

Their marital bed stood out in its dark blue almost black covers, made from a fabric that's found only on Antar. A canopy of gauze, the same color as the sheets, kept the occupants of the bed concealed to a certain degree. Tess's silver dresser with vanity mirror was near the bathroom and Max's silver dresser was placed on the other side of the room as if it didn't want to touch any of Tess's things.

"Yes, Isabel?" Max inched forward till he's sitting on the edge of the bed. Since arriving on Antar all three hybrids donned the Antarian dress. Men, mainly warriors or royalty, wore leather pants and a fabric called tyhne, it's Antar's version of silk. Warriors and royalty were the only ones allowed to wear those fabrics because it was so hard to come by naturally on their planet. While the women normally wore a long, thin, flowy dress that resembled the outfits the Greek Gods were drawn to wear.

"I need to speak with you privately Max." It wasn't that Isabel didn't like Tess, she did most of the time. In fact they had become quite close during these two years, but the matter was something she didn't want to discuss with Tess in the room.

Stepping out from behind the gauze Tess leaned down and picked up baby Zan, he's close to two years old now. He was born two weeks after they left, a little pre-mature by their standards but thankfully a healthy bundle of joy. She'd grown attached to the little prince and would protect him with all she had.

"I'll leave you two alone." Tess smiled at Isabel squeezing her shoulder as she went passed.

"Thank you Tess." Isabel acknowledged.

"You're welcome Iz." None of them spoke their Antarian names when they were in private. Only when dealing with officials or with their people did they call themselves by their former names. The door swished open and close as Tess left.

"What's up Izzy?" Max leaned forward worried.

She sighed loudly unsure of how to approach the matter. Did she blurt it out, just say what her plans were and let the chips fall where they may or did she try to butter Max up before dropping the bomb? "Max, you're my brother, you know I love you. Tess, has become like a sister to me. And baby Zan, I'd die for that little guy."

"Of course. Iz what's this about?" Her loyalty wasn't in question. All the things she said he already knew and believed with all his heart.

"When we return to Earth...I'm going to be staying there." She said in the softest voice but with conviction. She had made up her mind and no one was going to be able to change it.

Max ran a hand through his long hair, the common hairstyle for men on Antar. "Why? Aren't you happy on Antar with us?"

"Yes. I love being with you three. And I have made some friends while we were there. But I don't fit into that life anymore." She licked her lips. "Before we left the planet I thought I'd fit right into being the Princess, hell I've been acting like royalty since I was hatched." Sister and brother chuckled. "But once we settled in it...it felt strange to me. And that feeling has only intensified as the months continued."

"In other words, you're happy just not completely happy." He understood completely. There would always be a part of him that wanted his old life back, there'd always be apart of him that wanted to continue his relationship with Liz but that wasn't meant to be. While it may not be what he had originally intended he couldn't say he was unhappy--but he wasn't deliriously happy like when he was with Liz.

She nodded. "But you Max, both you and Tess have embraced the royal lifestyle. You're ruling our people, taking care of them, you probably wouldn't have left Antar if it wasn't for the fact that you need to stop the threat that's on Earth." She looked down for a brief moment before raising her gaze back to Max's golden orbs. "You're my family but it's time for me to see what I can do on my own."

Slowly Max nodded, "I'll miss you Iz. You're my family too." He brought her into a hug holding on tightly. "I hope you'll be happy there. If you ever want to return to Antar you know how to contact me?" Concerned that she'd forget. Although Isabel had never forgotten things like how to get in touch with him.

"Of course. I'd never forget that." She rubbed his back up and down. Sniffing she pulled back. "Come on, I'm sure Tess is wondering if we're ok." Isabel took his hand and they left his room to enter the eating quarters.

San Francisco

"We have a problem." Paige hurried to the living room, Prue and Piper were lounging on the couch in the solarium basking in the sun peeking in through their stained glass windows.

"What's up?" Prue sat up setting her coffee cup down on the table beside her, gently. Since coming back from the dead she had been experiencing power flare ups. When she's in a rush she loses a little bit of control, sometimes her new power lets loose other times it stayed quiet, thankfully that time it stayed quiet.

"Okay, you know I got Phoebe's premonitions? Well I got a really big one, this time in a form of a dream...or in this case nightmare. The balance of power is going to seriously tip in evil's side, in the next six months." Piper dropped her iced tea in shock. It fell and crashed on the floor exploding into hundreds of little pieces, she didn't even try to freeze the falling glassware.

Chapter 2

Roswell; 2 days later; Monday Morning

"Cole, honey?" Liz called from the kitchen. She set his plate full of eggs, pancakes, and sausage on the table before making her own breakfast. Normally she'd be joining him in a big breakfast but this morning she woke up and wasn't hungry. If Cole hadn't been there she would have skipped breakfast all together but he'd get on her case if he didn't see her eat at least a small bowl of something.

While waiting for her husband she made Bryant's oatmeal, it didn't take long for both her boys to make an appearance. "Honey, your breakfast is on the table, Bryant's oatmeal is in the microwave, and I'm off to class." She kissed him on the lips before plucking Bry out of Cole's arms. "Oh you look so handsome today." She nuzzled his soft cheek enjoying the child’s smile of glee. "You be a good boy for Daddy today ok?"

"Mama 'rey." He couldn't pronounce his P’s or T’s yet.

"Thank you baby." She hated leaving him but she couldn't bring him to class today, she had a project/presentation in science. Soon it'd be finals week and she could hardly wait for a month off before going back for the summer.

"He's right you know. His Mama's pretty." He leaned down stealing another kiss.

"Yucky." Bryant turned his head.

"Yucky?" Cole teased. He tickled the little boy in Liz's arms. "Yucky huh?" He laughed as Bryant wiggled and squealed with delight.

Liz glanced at the clock again. "Ok, I really have to go now." She set him in his high chair, kissed his dark curls and grabbed her backpack before hurrying out the door leaving the boys to their breakfast. She almost made it to her car before Cole stopped her tossing an apple at her.

"Eat something." He shouted before he closed the door.

Smiling Liz got into her car and drove to the college. Today Cole was bringing Bryant to work with him. Philip would love that; he took a liking to her son and always had a bin full of toys he could play with. She thought having a child around would only hurt the man but it actually brightened his day. Philip spoiled him and Bryant loved his Uncle Philip.

Space

Katya glided into Vilandra's room. "Will this ship ever land." At first the trip had been fun a great adventure, but now it was boring and she wanted it over with.

Isabel took her eyes off her work to look at the other Princess on board. Katya, and her cousin Glyqum, were sent with them so they could learn something about what lay beyond Antar. Although why they had to accompany her and their Royal Family she'd never understand. They hadn't exactly gotten along back on Antar.

She had short black hair that shimmered and shined when the light touched it, a small thin mouth that when she smiled made it seem like she had no lips, and large expressive golden eyes. The reason for their mutual dislike of each other was a simple one; Katya hated that Vilandra came back to Antar. Before she had been the highest-ranking Princess and since she had been told that there was no way Vilandra could return to the planet she believed she would be at the top forever. Unfortunately for her that wasn't meant to be.

"It takes two weeks for a ship from Antar to arrive on Earth. We're only in the first week." Isabel droned only to look back down at the document in her possession and continued writing. She needed to get this done for Max before tonight when he spoke with the Council still on Antar.

"Isn't Khivar working on a mode of transportation that will eliminate our ships all together?" She plopped down on Vilandra's bed.

"It's only a rumor, nothing's been confirmed yet." Her ice princess facade firmly in place. She didn't like to talk about Khivar, while they had been lovers in her former life she hadn't so much as glanced at him during the meetings of Antar's various leaders. He tried to seek her out of course but when it was obvious she'd have nothing to do with him he backed off. Although she wasn't stupid enough to believe he'd stay away for much longer.

While it’s been over fifty years since the time they were sent down in 47’ the Antarian’s much to their surprise hadn’t aged much. Their mother still looked the same as her hologram and Khivar only seemed to be in his late twenties or early thirties. Her mother explained that while their planet moved about the same speed as Earth’s and revolved around their sun at roughly the same amount of time they as a species aged far slower.

It had been wonderful seeing her mother again, their meetings were awkward but Isabel liked to think they were losing some of that. However it didn’t change the fact that she missed, who she considered to be, her real parents. Diane and Phillip Evans were the ones who took care of her if she skinned her knee, they hugged her when she was sad, and they knew who she was as a person. As nice as knowing her biological mother was it couldn’t compare with her true Mom and Dad.

"What's Earth like?" The question jerked Isabel out of her thoughts. The young Princess curious as to what the planet was like in comparison to Antar.

"Similar to Antar in some ways, different in others." Isabel stood up and opened her filing cabinet next to her desk to make sure a number she needed was correct. "Same kind of atmosphere, but different colors for the oceans, the sky. Things like that."

Katya grabbed one of Vilandra's pillows and cradled it to her. "Are the people nice there?"

Isabel turned and really looked at the young Princess, she's only nineteen, a year younger than herself but so innocent. The poor girl was scared of Earth. Softening her tone she turned her desk chair around, "Most. A popular movie on my--on Earth is Men In Black which oddly enough is about aliens." She chuckled. "But a saying in the movie that I loved and could completely relate too was 'A person is smart, but people are dumb, panicky, and irrational'. That's not the exact quote but it's close. On Earth there was a small group of people who knew our true identities and who cared for us anyway. If more people than that knew we would have been dissected or killed because we were from another planet."

"And Daddy is sending me there? Oh I feel the love." She mumbled.

"Don't worry. We'll be fine. Zan, Ava, and I lived there for almost thirteen years and except for a few instances we remained hidden. Rath is still there and I'm sure he's fine." At least she hoped he was all right. There was no telling with Michael sometimes. "Besides, we can cloak the ship, everything will be fine.”

Roswell Bus Station

"We are now entering Roswell, New Mexico. Please visit their local tourist sites, which include, the Crashdown Cafe, the UFO Center, and the new Alien Amusement park." The driver pulled into the station and opened the door.

Passengers stood up, grabbed their bags from the overhead bin and left the bus. The dark haired beauty grabbed her duffel bag and swung it over her shoulder. The bus station was a hell of a lot nicer than some of the other's she'd stopped at. Weaving her way though the crowd of people she stepped off the bus.

She left for the convenient store across the street, having no other luggage she didn't need to wait around like the other passengers. As she walked by a man she picked his wallet out of his pants pocket. When she was far enough away she opened it up and pulled out the wad of cash, quickly she dumped the wallet in the trash and hurried along. The guy only had a couple twenties and three tens. Better than nothing but still not good enough. She'd have to pick a few more pockets if she wanted to get a hotel room.

Quickly she got change from the convenient store and found a pay phone. They were coming harder and harder to come by, it drove her nuts. As she stuffed the food she bought...and didn't buy...into her duffel bag she hit seven digits. A few rings went by and the voice mail kicked on. "Kyle, it's me Faith. I'm in town and I wanted to get together. Meet me at this restaurant called the Crashdown." She didn't ask she commanded.

Chapter 3

Underworld

"Are you certain?" The Source bellowed from his throne.

"Yes, every Seer that has been contacted has predicted the same thing. The balance will severely tip in Evil's favor." The lowly demon kept his head bowed showing great respect for the ruler of all demons.

"Excellent." He chuckled loudly displaying to all who were there that he was delighted by the news. Why wouldn't he be? One of the few demons who kept a tight hold on his cold dead heart was going to be the leader of massive wave of Evil. Everything was falling into place and he loved it.

College Campus

Liz gathered up her things and hurried from the classroom. She was meeting Cole, Bryant, and Phillip for lunch today. In a hurry she didn't notice the student behind her hoping to get a minute of her time.

Before she left the hall where her class was held he grabbed her arm lightly. Jumping she turned quickly ready to hurt whoever touched her. When she saw him she recognized him as a student who didn't speak much in class but who the teacher always complimented on his papers.

"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." He sincerely said.

"Oh, it's fine, I'm just a naturally jumpy person." Liz shrugged her shoulders innocently. Even though Phoebe was dead she couldn't stop the instant jolt every time someone came up behind her. She took a fleeting glance at the double doors, hoping this guy would say what he wanted then leave her alone. What was his name? Jimmy, Jerry...it was definitely a 'J' word.

He swallowed hard and played with his index finger. "Umm, I know we haven't spoken at all but...would you like to get a cup of coffee sometime?"

"Oh, umm...actually..." She didn't get any further than that when Bryant spotted her from the double doors leading outside.

"Mommy!" He ran toward her and she smiled kneeling down to lift him up in her arms. Briefly she turned back to the guy asking her to coffee.

"You're a Mom?"

"Yea and wife." She let him down as gently as she could making sure there concern and sincerity in her tone. That's when he looked down at her finger and noticed the engagement and wedding rings gleaming under the harsh florescent light above them.

Cole ran in after Bryant, once he saw him in Liz's arms he calmed. He saw the young man standing next to Liz, his presence only caused a moments concern but when Liz turned and smiled at him he knew the man was no threat. Grinning he walked up to her and kissed her. "Ready to go to lunch?"

"Absolutely." She glanced back at the disappointed guy, "This is Cole Turner, my husband. Cole this is..." She left him to fill in the detail of his name.

"Jacob Ashton." He held out his hand to shake the hand Cole extended.

"Nice to meet you."

"Well, I can see you're busy, I better go. Nice to meet all of you." Jacob nodded, waved and hurried off.

Liz felt bad, he had worked up the courage to ask her out only to get rejected big time, not only was she not available she was married with a child. Not what he expected. "I am starving, where are we eating?" She looked passed him to look for Phillip but didn't see him anywhere. "Where's Phillip?"

"Diane had a problem today." He rested the palm of his hand on her low back leading her outside.

"What happened?" These last few weeks the woman hadn't been doing so good.

Cole sighed. "She thought she saw Isabel today. Ran up to the girl, hugged her and said she missed her baby so much. The girl pushed Diane away and she fell on the ground."

"Damn. Is she alright?"

"Physically she has a few bumps and bruises, nothing that a couple of band aids won't help. But her mental state..." He shook his head. They made it to the car, neither one speaking, Liz set Bryant in the car seat, buckled him up and closed the door, before turning back to Cole.

"Maybe we shouldn't bring Bryant around her anymore. With Phillip Bryant seems to be helping him move forward, but with Diane she's gotten worse. Last week she called Bry, Max. Said her baby boy was so handsome." She tapped on the roof of Cole's car, debating on how to bring what she thought up.

"What?" He stared intently at her determining what she was thinking. "You don't think Diane would hurt him do you?"

"No, but I am scared that she'll think Bry is hers and she'll take him. When Max and Isabel left--she was devastated understandably--at first she started to get better but now..." She sighed and started over, "If, heaven forbid, I was in Diane's shoes and I thought a certain child was mine there would be nothing that could stop me from taking him, whether it was him or not." She stared at Bryant happily playing with his toys. He's her baby she'd destroy the world for him.

Thank you everyone for the wonderful feedback. Here's the next chapter.

A.N. Just a reminder, this is set 18 months after the end of ONStSM. So it'd be the end of Season 5 of Charmed and for the little bit of BTVS info, it's after the Series Finale.

Chapter 4

Crashdown

Kyle stood outside the Crashdown staring up at the blinking lights of the UFO above the double doors. He just got the message from Faith on his cell phone. He'd only been with her for a couple weeks before they parted ways. She had some business to conduct in Cleveland and he had to start heading back to Roswell. On a whim he gave her his cell phone number in case she ever was in town.

Now she was in town looking for him, wanting to get together. He glanced at his watch, she never did say when she wanted to meet but since it was passed breakfast he figured she meant for lunch. But then again she could have meant for dinner. Hell, he just had to go in there and have a conversation with her that didn't end with 'wanna get out of here and screw'.

Slicking his hair back he breathed out. Yea, he could eat lunch with her and not want to sleep with her. He straightened and walked into the diner. There she was sitting at the back booth reading the menu. Dark curly hair framed her heart-shaped face; pouty lips tempted him to throw his plan of not bedding her today out the window and into the street to be run over by a passing car.

Even though she seemed to be completely oblivious to her surroundings he knew from experience she knew that he entered the establishment. When he asked about her hyper-awareness of surroundings she shrugged the comment off and only answered with a vague response of she came from the streets.

In the two weeks he'd spent with her he hadn't been told much about her. Sure, simple things like her favorite food--French Fries dipped in ranch--why she hated romantic comedies and thought Terminator was the greatest movie of all time, but he never got information about her life. Faith never mentioned her Mom or if she did it was quickly touched on then discarded in a heartbeat, no mention of her Dad, barely a mention of friends. He knew more about what she preferred in bed then anything else.

Taking a deep breath he walked over to the booth she occupied. Slowly she set down her menu and turned her sultry smirk on him. "Hey Ky. Give us a kiss."

San Francisco

Shortly after lunch the Halliwell sisters stood around the Book flipping though the pages trying to find something, anything to help them with Paige's dream. "Are you sure the dream said six months?"

"Approximately. Why?" Premonitions weren't an exact science and but she had been able to concentrate and have control of the dream for a minute, that minute was enough to find her a calendar and it was six months later.

"Remember that prophesy you told us about. With Cole and his wife, Liz?" Piper prodded.

A light went on in Paige's head and a question mark showed above Prue's. "Cole and Liz? Whose Liz?" She knew who Cole was but Liz was someone new.

Piper turned to Prue; she hadn't been there during the whole Cole, Liz, and Phoebe dilemma. And according to Prue even if she had been watching during that time she wouldn't remember it, everyday she spent back on Earth the memory of where she was faded more and more. Soon she wouldn't be able to remember any of it. She'd know she died and come back but that'd be it.

"Liz Parker, although now it'd be Turner. She's a demon, apparently when we met her she had only recently found out she was different. While in San Francisco she and Cole got together, eventually they got married." Paige filled in. She turned to a page in the book the Prue hadn't seen before.

On the page was a picture that Paige drew of what Liz's demon looked like. "She normally looks human but this is her demon form. While Phoebe was on her 'get away from my man' phase Liz transformed into this." She tapped the picture. Long strawberry colored hair almost reached the demon's ankles, midnight black skin with a silver strip of skin coiling around each arm. At the tips of her fingers long red sharp claws jutted out ready to tear into anyone who crossed her path. Not a single stitch of clothing seemed to be on the demon.

"Now her father is Peikasha. He is the leader of the Shapeshifter and Ticatra Factions. Now he's powerful and if he had Liz with a demon mother Liz would be even more powerful than he is...but because he mated with a witch her powers aren't as strong as they could be." Paige told her eldest sister.

"Okay. Still not seeing how this ends up to be the time evil reigns." Prue put her hands on her hips a little annoyed that they hadn't just told her.

"I'm getting to that. Now it's written that Cole and Liz are bonded mates. They were destined to be together. We found out a year and a half ago that Liz was pregnant with Cole's child. Now this child is prophesied to be the one to bring humanity to its knees. I don't know about you but that is a major oh shit."

Piper scratched her head in confusion, "But their child wouldn't be old enough yet to bring humanity to its knees. He's what...a year? Somehow I don't see a toddler doing all that."

"The prophecy is clear as day. I've been reading it periodically over the last year and a half and it says nothing about the time frame but I always got the impression it wouldn't be for many years to come." Paige revealed.

"Let's call Leo, have him bring Wyatt back down," Prue stopped Piper before she spoke up against bringing her newborn son back down to Earth. "The major evil won't be happening for six months, he'll be okay right now." She assured her sister. "Than we go over the prophecy, come up with scenarios and so on. Maybe have Leo ask the Elders for info." Piper and Paige agreed. The middle sister closed her eyes and prayed they were making the right decision in bringing Wyatt back down before calling for her husband.

Jamie's Bar and Grill

"Bryant Turner you drop one more thing and I'm taking you outside for a time out." Liz scolded. He'd been dropping silverware and whatever else he had in front of him on the floor and refused to listen to anything she or Cole told him to do.

The young child stared at her took a small fork and held it out to the side. It didn't even touch the floor before he was up out of the seat and in her arms being carried out from the restaurant. Loud cries of an upset child traveled to through the establishment and straight to the spines of everyone there. They all turned to search for the crying kid, when they saw her, a girl many have known since she was a kid striding toward the door with a purpose they left her alone.

Sharp, head-splitting screams echoed in the parking lot, she made it to the car and put him in his car seat. She took his toys and closed the door before putting the toys in the trunk. Liz came back to the side of the car and waited for Bryant's screams and cries to cease. If she had been at home she would have put him in his room, but home was on the other side of town.

She leaned against the car when suddenly her car was surrounded.

Liz recognized three of the six faces, they were demons in her demon clan, but she didn't know who the other three were. "What's up guys?" She kept a hand on her hip waiting for an answer.

"We heard the young ones cries Princess." Ar'kinaj bowed in front of her instantly making her uncomfortable. Demons bowing to her still made her nervous. While it was tradition it bothered her, she couldn't come up with a good enough reason beside that.

"He does that when he's in timeout. Don't worry he'll be all right in a little bit." She appreciated that Dad made sure there was a group of demon guards listening in for sounds of Bryant in distress but every time he cried they shimmered in. When he was a baby all he did was cry, poop, and suck on things. The guards became permanent fixtures in her home for six weeks. "Who are the other three?" Normally there were six but the three newbies were ones she'd never seen before.

"New recruits Princess. They are coming with us to learn the ropes of protecting the young one." Ar'kinaj never called Bryant by his name. Some kind of rule that since they were lower they couldn't speak royalties name to their faces. Lame but it'd been tradition for thousands of years; it wasn't going to change overnight.

"My father approved them?" Unsure of the new faces.

"Yes Princess. As did the Source. He gave them his full approval."

Reluctantly she nodded. She wasn't entirely happy that there were new demons around her son she hadn't had the opportunity to interview first hand but for now it would have to do. She'd talk to her father later. "Do they know my rule?"

"Yes, we informed them of your wishes."

"Good. But just incase it's not clear I'm going to repeat it." She turned to the newcomers. "If you are watching my son and he's ever hurt, more specifically if any of you ever hurt him, I'll kill you. Is that clear?" With fast nods and a resounding 'yes' from the three all six shimmered from the parking lot. During her short chat with the others Bryant had stopped screaming and was now crying quietly. She glanced at her watch, only two more minutes left in his timeout, then she'd hug him and kiss him and tell him that he was still her baby boy.

A.N. Hello everyone sorry this took a while to get out. Apparently I needed to get some issues out because this is my argument chapter. Hope everyone enjoys.

Chapter 5

Space

Tess put Zan the fifth into his crib and covered him with a blanket. He’d been fussy all day and would not stop crying even for a moment. Max of course hadn’t been around to help her instead he’d been talking to the Council back on Antar using their communications system.

She cared for Max, probably always would but she could see that they weren’t in love. The emotions she mostly felt for him were the result of the years Nasedo told her how in love she and Zan the fourth were on Antar.

When the first generation of Max’s family became the rulers of Antar they started naming their first born sons ‘Zan’. There were ways of telling them apart when talking about them to others, if talking about baby Zan, her and Max’s son, he was referred to as Zan Lyon. As for Max his name on Antar was Zan Uyhm, which roughly translated meant ‘strong’.

Thankfully the women didn’t have that problem, each had their own name so it didn’t cause confusion. The Royal family probably thought that it was confusing enough with the ‘Zan’s’ why make more problems with naming the first daughter the same as their mother.

The door to their bedchamber swished open and Max walked in looking tired and ragged. “Tough meeting?”

“You have no idea.” He strode passed her and plopped down on the bed.

Stepping away from the crib she went and sat next to Max. “Want to tell me about it?”

For a moment he didn’t answer and Tess thought he gave her his answer, but when she moved to stand up Max started talking. “According to our intelligence the danger that is threatening Earth’s people is well guarded and well stocked with bodies ready to fight to the death.”

Sighing she lay down beside him and rubbed his chest. “Are you sure it’s safe to be continuing this journey then? If what the Council said is true than shouldn’t we go home and forget about Earth?” The forefront thought in her mind was her family, her son. She didn’t want him to be set down in a dangerous situation.

Zan was still a baby, if they had been in Earth’s atmosphere he would be a couple months shy of two years old, but on Antar he only aged six months. He wasn’t ready to be thrown into a battle and if she had her way Zan would stay that way for quite a while.

“No, how can you say that? Our friends are still on Earth. Michael is there, Isabel and my parents…Liz, Maria, Kyle, and Jim. Not to mention billions of innocents. No I’m not going to go home and forget about Earth.”

Max sat up letting Tess’s hand fall to the bed. “Okay.” She rolled her eyes. “What about our son? You’re willing to bring him into an environment where he could be killed at any moment?”

“He could be killed at any moment back on Antar. We were killed once before so Kivar could take over the throne…”

“It was never proven that he had us killed.” Tess argued.

“May not have been but why would he take over our throne the second we were disposed of?” He demanded to know.

“Gee could be because he was almost next in line anyway. His father was too ill to succeed after us so he stepped up. Your mother never said in that message we got years ago that Kivar was behind our deaths, why do you keep accusing him?”

“Why do you keep defending him?” Max stood from the bed staring down at her.

“I respect him.” She simply said.

“Respect him? Why?” Max shouted. Realizing what he did he turned to look at his son, baby Zan stirred in his crib aware of the noise but thankfully didn’t awaken.

Keeping her voice low Tess told him. “He stepped up to rule in our absence when it’s common knowledge among our people that he didn’t want to be in charge. He strengthened our army and our people. And when we returned he gave us back the throne. You may hate him Max but I do not.” With a sweep of her dress she retreated into their bathroom and locked the door.

Roswell; 3 days later; Thursday Afternoon

The Crashdown was a bustling hub of activity, waitresses moved with precision cutting through the crowd, delivering food, getting new orders and dealing with rude customers. She remembered these kinds of afternoons well, every table was full and every barstool was occupied. Liz didn’t miss it at all.

Bryant slept on her hip, resting his head on her shoulder ignoring the jumbled up noises of bells digging, conversations, and glass tinkling. Waving to one of the waitresses she zoomed passed the crowd with ease and made it into the back room. A couple who had been waiting for a table for fifteen minutes voiced their disapproval that someone could cut in line and walk through the restaurant with no one stopping her. Liz didn’t hear the answer Stacy gave the customers but she’s sure it included the line, ‘she’s the owners daughter’.

Not seeing her Dad downstairs in the restaurant or his office she made her way up the stairs to the apartment. These last two weeks she made an effort to stop by and see Dad, he and Mom had divorced and now he was alone in the apartment.

…Or he should have been.

Muffled through the door Liz could hear female giggles followed by a manly chuckle that was very familiar. “Bryant honey, I’m going to send you to Daddy for a little bit. Sounds like Grandpa is a little busy.” She kissed her son on the cheek and waited for him to nod before she closed her eyes and sent him to Cole who just walked in the door to their home, surprised to suddenly have his son flame into his arms.

With Bryant safe Liz didn’t bother knocking, instead she used her key and opened the door. In front of her was a sight that she would have rather not seen. Two women, one she knew and one she didn’t, one naked and one partially naked, were draped over her father seductively.

Coughing uncomfortably Liz got their attention. “Liz?”

“Dad.” Annoyance obvious. “So who are your friends?” To say she felt betrayed for her mother was an understatement. Don’t ask her to explain that emotion, while yes she didn’t like her mother she still loved her and nothing could change that.

Instead of answering he grabbed for his robe. “What are you doing here honey?”

“Remember two days ago when you said you wanted to see Bryant and me, I suggested Thursday afternoon, you said that would be fine. Guess you forgot huh?” She looked at the two women with him. One was a woman who’s main job in life was to service the Shapeshifters/Ticatra leaders, whether that be the leader of a family, leader of their Clan, or leader of their armies…it didn’t matter.

The other woman however was one she didn’t recognize she could be one of their people or she might be something else entirely, be that demon or human. She had long purple hair that barely grazed her butt, bright blue eyes, a little taller than her, and a long scar on her stomach. She was also the one that was partially dressed, having discarded her shirt at some point during the encounter with her father.

“Princess.” Mina lowered her head, showing respect to their leader’s daughter not a bit ashamed of her state of undress, but the woman with purple hair only stared at her standing behind Jeff gripping his arm.

“So…one of us or not?” Liz questioned. Dad knew whom she was referring to by the quick glance behind him.

“One of us. New to our Clan.” Why he was explaining himself to his daughter he’d never know but she exuded a confidence and a demand to be answered.

“Giving her the proper welcome are you?” It didn’t bother her, for the most part, that her father was sleeping with other women. She knew it was bond to happen now that he and Mom were divorced. However what irritated her was that he forgot she and Bryant were stopping by and that he had brought them to the family home.

“Now look…” Jeff started.

“Oh I’ve looked enough.” She scrunched up her face as she said it. “Mina take the newbie back to the lair please.”

Mina shot her father a small glance waiting for his ok. Although Lakarisha was powerful in her own right and would one day be Queen instead of Princess she wasn’t yet and that meant she only took orders from the highest ranking official in the room and that was Peikasha.

He nodded his approval and waited for Mina to gather her clothes and leave with Ilana. Once they were gone he turned to Liz. “Liz it is not your business to question what I do in my personal time.” Anger flared in his eyes.

“Maybe not, but it never would have become my business if you called me to let me know you were busy. If you said something came up and I couldn’t come over I would have been fine with that and we’d have rescheduled.”

“That was my mistake and I’m sorry I forgot.” Jeff apologized, “But that’s no reason to talk to me the way you did and in front of a new member.”

“Dad listen I could care less if you had a line of women waiting for sex, the second your and Mom’s divorce was final. The problem I’m having is that your family has gone way done on your list of priorities.” Liz told him.

“No it hasn’t. You and Bryant are still number one to me and always will be.” He argued.

“No we’re not. Do you remember a week and a half ago, last Sunday evening? You invited Cole, Bryant and me over to have dinner. You and I were going to cook it like we used to when I was younger, well when we showed up you weren’t there. I told Cole that he and Bryant could go home and I’d be there shortly. When I came inside there was no one here, then I went to the Underworld, asked if anyone had seen you. Driva told me that you were fine, you with Mina.”

“Why didn’t you tell me this sooner?” Jeff asked.

“Why bother? I was pissed off but I brushed it aside saying to myself that it was only going to be this one time, you deserved to have some fun after everything you dealt with concerning Mom.” She shook her head upset and not wanting to be there anymore. “Listen, do what you want I don’t care, just stop making plans with us and then getting together with Mina or whoever else you decide to entertain. I’m going home.” She transported home in a flurry of flames leaving her father alone in the apartment.
