Chapter 1

Staring up at the beautiful star lit sky, Liz reminisced the events that had caused havoc to her small town girl personality.

She use to be the typical small town girl. She was pretty, smart, and had the star athlete as her boyfriend. Then with one instant, she became a small town girl, with something big to hide, and when it happened she didn’t realize the effects of it.

She fell in love with the reason that left her with this big secret to hide, and he loved her back. They had a love that was amazing, indescribable, every part of their love felt so right, but the thing she couldn’t understand was that why was it so wrong according to destiny?

Now she found herself, heartbroken, and longing for the King of a unknown far planet, the man who saved her life, the man who gave meaning to her entire existence.

She gave him up to follow his destiny, but he told her none of that mattered, that they choose their own destiny. If that was true, then everything she believed in heart was a lie. She believed that she was Max’s destiny, that in some parallel universe, it was faith, that he was brought upon her, and it was not only so that he could save her life, but to save her from drowning in this small town where everyone expected her to be perfect.

Then it hit her, he was her entire heart. He was her entire heart and soul, and what ever he believed, her heart did too. They chose their destinies; it took her a while to realize it, but now standing on the same balcony where everything changed between the two of them, she knew, that they were meant to be together, because that’s what their hearts wanted, not because of what was written on a book. Now all she had to do was make it up to him.

****
Max lay on his bed staring at the ceiling, sulking to the Counting Crows; something he found himself doing quite often since Liz left him that day at the cave.

He couldn’t understand why he couldn’t make her see, that they were meant to be, that they choose their own destinies, that they choose each other, making each other the other’s destiny.

He didn’t care about what some book told them, he didn’t care what his mother told him, he didn’t care what he did back in his old life. In this life he was Max Evans, adoptive son of Diane and Phillip Evans, a 17 year old boy who was desperately in love with Liz Parker, the girl who accepted him despite his many flaws, someone who loved him unconditionally. He just wish he could show that to her.

A loud crash brought Max out of his thoughts. He quickly got up from his bed. He knew he was the only person home, so no one could have made that loud noise. Max looked up from left to right and saw no one.

He sighed. Maybe he was just being paranoid. He ran his hands through his hair and walked in the direction of his bathroom.

“Who are you!” Max screamed lifting up his hand; getting ready to blast at the person who stood in front of him. A person who had an uncanny resemblance to him.

“Wait, please I can explain.” He said.

“Explain! WHO ARE YOU! AND WHY DO YOU LOOK LIKE ME! ARE YOU A SHAPE SHIFTER!” He screamed.

“Look I’m not here to harm you! I need to talk to you! I am you!” He said walking closer to Max. Max moved back not bringing his arm down.

“DON’T COME NEAR ME! YOU’RE A LIAR! I’M ME, YOUR NOT ME!” Max screamed.

“I am you just not in this lifetime.” The man said again.

“I’m giving you one minute to explain yourself.” Max said not putting his guard down.

“14 years from now the world is going to end, I know this because I lived it. I’m you but in another lifetime, I was able to alter the Granolith in order to changed it into a time machine so that I can come back and warn you, and so that me and you together could help change the future, and stop it from ending.”

“Why should I believe you.”

“If I were a shape shifter there would be no way that I could be able to tell the future, and in about approximately 10 seconds mom and dad are going to be coming home.” Max stared at this man, he didn’t know whether or not he should trust him.

“3...2...1.” Future Max whispered. Max didn’t hear anything.

“Well?” Max asked raising his eyebrow in question.

“I said approximately.”

“You know what..” Max started but was interrupted with the voice of his father calling out.

“ANYONE HOME?” Max look wide eyed at the man before him, he really didn’t have no other choice than to believe him. Max lowered his arm.

“Stay here.” He said walking out of the room to greet his parents, but mostly to make sure that they won’t walk into his room anytime soon.

Future Max sighed in relief and looked around and took in the familiar surroundings. He was feeling everything he ever felt when he was in that same exact room. Whenever he and Liz were together on the bed, the way she managed to make his heart flutter, and make him forget nothing else existed. He closed his eyes feeling sorrow that everything they shared would not happen if he succeed with what he planned to do.

He was brought out of his thoughts with the slamming of the door. He turned back to the younger version of himself.

“So will you help me?” He asked. Max crossed his arms around his chest.

“Well it seems like I have no choice do I?” Max said sighing walking over to his bed and sitting down, his life just became even more complicated then it was already was, and he didn’t know how much more he could take, he just wanted everything back to the way they were.

Future Max looked in the direction of the door, it was like he longed for it.

“How are they?” He asked. Max looked up at him.

“Mom and dad?” Future Max nodded.

“They’re fine, why?” Future Max sighed.

“It’s been so long since I heard their voice, since I last saw them.” He said closing his eyes remember the painful memory.

“What happened.” Max asked curiously. Future Max took a seat next to Max on the bed and looked ahead, it was as if he was as if he was non existent and not aware of anything around him.

“Me and Isabel finally told them, we were in some trouble. They didn’t care at all that we were of another species, to them we were still their children, and they loved us no less. Then when our enemies came, we tried to protect them, we told them to leave us, but they said they wouldn’t, they wanted to be with their children, that they would die for us. They died in a cross fire. I was only 22, Iz was never the same after that, I guess none us really were.” Future Max managed to keep the tears from falling.

“I’m sorry, but I promise, I’ll try my hardest for that not to happen.” Max said trying to keep his emotions intact. The fact that his parents died to protect them even after knowing their secret, he just didn’t know how to react.

“But why, what’s so special about this time, why come back to this specific moment of time?” Max asked. He didn’t see anything special with this time.

“Tomorrow night Liz is going to come over and tell you that she was wrong, and that she was sorry. That she realized that we are meant to be together because that’s what we wanted.” Future Max explained smiling at the memory. Max was ecstatic, it was finally what he was waiting for.

Future Max stood up and walked over to the window staring into the dark lit sky.

“We cemented our relationship that night, and after that we were inseparable.” Max turned to face Future Max.

“When you say cemented you mean..”

“We made love.” He said looking back to his younger self. Max nodded his head in shock.

“Wow.” He managed to get out.

“But don’t you see that can’t happen.” He explained. Max looked up at him.

“What why?”

“Max, after me and Liz made love, it marked the end of the world. Tess left, she couldn’t bare the thought of everything she worked for going down the drain. We needed her and when our enemies came to the earth, without her, everything fell apart, and we lost the battle.” Max shook his head.

“No, there has to be another way. Maybe I can talk to Tess” Max wouldn’t except it.

“I’m sorry but there is no other way. The farther away Liz is from you, the better it is. In the future your enemies are going to use Liz as a way to get to you. Right now they don’t know what she is to you, but it won’t be hidden in the future.”

“What did they do to her.”

“I just want to leave all that behind. I need your help Max, and if you want to assure the safety of the people you love, you need to let go of Liz.”

****

“Let me tell you something Buddha boy, I got a lamp, that needs some serious trimming.” Tess said seductively standing inches away from Kyle. As he was leaning in they were interrupted with the doorbell.

Kyle groaned in frustration. He walked in to the door and opened to find Max. He rolled his eyes, of course he had to have perfect timing, there goes all his chances with Tess.

“What you sensed some actual joy and decided to ruin the moment.” Kyle bit out angrily. Max looked at him confused but chose to ignore him.

“Is Tess around?” He asked peering over his shoulder looking for her. Suddenly she came into his view.

“We need to talk.” Max said.

****

“OoOoO Liz you look scrumptious. Where are you going?” Maria asked taking in Liz’s appearance as she walked into her room. She had her hair blown out straight, and wore a tight fitted red halter top with a black skirt stopping at her knees, and leather boots. Liz turned around to look at Maria.

“Oh, I’m going to talk to Max. I realized I was totally wrong about everything, and all I really want is for us to be together. I’m ready to tell him that he was right, that we are meant to be. Do you think he’ll want me back?” Liz asked nervously putting on her earring.

“Looking like that, Liz I doubt he’d be able to say no to anything, even if you asked him to sing in front of a bunch of people at the karaoke bar naked.” Liz laughed.

“Thanks Ria.” She said grabbing a picture from her table. It was the one they took together right before Tess came to town. They were so happy, and carefree, she wanted to show it to him, she wanted to tell him that they could go back to that, if he wanted them to.

“Now go get your moon doggie gidget.

****

“Look Tess by no means does this mean that we are going to have a chance in the future. I just want us to be friends. I know that you feel this destiny thing is something that needs to be put into effect, but I could never love you the way that you deserve. You deserve to be loved, you’ve lived your whole life with a man who had no heart, and you deserve to be happy, and you won’t be if your with me, because I’ll never be able to return that kind of love. But despite that, it doesn’t mean we can't be friends, I’d really like us to be friends, you’re an amazing person, and if you could forget about the destiny thing and just let loose, you’re a great girl, and really fun to be around with.” Max told her lying down on his bed, next to Tess who had a towel wrapped around her. He took his blanket cover and laid it over the two of them.

Tess didn’t know what to say, she knew what he was saying was true, but when he came to her and asked her to go through with this stupid plan she couldn’t understand what it meant for the two of them.

“Liz must of done something terrible to make you do this to her.” Tess said.

“It doesn’t matter, but I just want to say thanks for going along with it.” Max said looking at her. Tess smiled at him.

“You know I’m here for you, if you ever need anything.” Max smiled.

“Same here.” They stayed silent for a while until Tess started to giggle. Max looked over at her.

“What?” He asked curiously.

“Nothing, I was just remembering something, that me and Kyle were talking about earlier.” She said smiling at the happy memory. Max smiled, he never saw this side of Tess before, and he liked it, he hoped to see it out of her more often.

“Kyle’s a great guy Tess.” Max commented.

“Yeah he really is.” Tess said staring up at the ceiling.

“Maybe he can give you that love, the one we were talking about. I’ve seen the way he looks at you sometimes. It kind of reminded me of how I use to be with Liz. “ Tess turned to look at him.

“Really?” She asked with the hint of excitement in her voice. Max nodded.

Future Max watched from the peak of the closet, he slowly started to feel him self fade away, maybe they didn’t actually have to go through with the whole thing. Then it hit him, it was Max’s words to Tess that had done it, she was in love with Kyle, it just took some encouraging words to figure it out.

He was about to come out of the closet to tell Max that it was ok, he didn’t have to go through with it, but it was already too late. He looked over at the direction of the window and found the love of his life standing there, with the picture of the two of them in her hands; her face complete with sorrow and pain.

Max looked out the window and found Liz there with the same exact face from the day at the cave. Just seeing her like that broke his heart.

Liz couldn’t breathe, on the other side of the window lay Max and Tess naked, and they seemed perfect together, they were laughing and smiling. They were everything she and Max were suppose to be.

She dropped the photo and ran the opposite direction, tears rushing down her face as she did.

Max got up right after she left, the look on her face, it was too much for him to handle. Tess got up clutching to towel to her body. She scooted over closer to him and rested a reassuring hand on his shoulder.

“I’m here.” She whispered. Max tried to hold back the tears as he looked over in the direction of the closet, where he saw Future Max disappear into nothing.

Thanks to all who left feedback! Sorry it took long to update, but my son's feelings better, so I should be on track now! Thanks again for the feedback!

Chapter 2

6 months later

After that night Liz couldn’t bring herself to face Max or Tess. She broke down and finally told her mother
everything about her and Max, alien details excluded of course. She told her that she just couldn’t deal
with anything anymore, that things were really hard for her and with that she was on her next flight back to
Florida to spend the school year with her aunt. She tried avoiding any phone calls from any one in the I-
Know-an-Alien-Club, but that could only stick for so long, and a month into her stay in Florida she finally
talked to Maria.

Maria found everything Liz told her hard to believe, because she could have sworn that something was going to explode between Tess and Kyle, but if it made her best friend pick up and just leave, she knew it had to be true. After their long talk, Maria and Liz called each other frequently, but there was only one condition; they would not talk about anything alien related.

“Hello?” Liz asked, out of breath, as she picked up the phone. She was upstairs picking out an outfit for one of her weekly dates she had with one of the local boys, when the phone rang, leaving her to race downstairs to pick it up.

“Lizzie, it’s Ria. There’s been an accident. We need you back in Roswell.” Liz’s heart started to race.

“What accident? What happened.” She asked panicked.

“It’s your parents. We need you back now.” Liz felt all the blood rush to her head, and she tried to ignore the pounding of her heart.

“I’ll be there in a couple of hours.” With that they hung up.

3 hours later Liz was on flight back to Roswell. Liz couldn’t think straight, she had so many thoughts floating around in her head. She was worried for her parents, and was praying to god that they were ok. Her parents weren’t the only thing bothering her though, it was the thought of seeing Max again after all this time. She knew it was foolish to think about him at a time like this, but she didn’t know if she could handle everything. When she was in Florida, she was a different person, she was brave and strong, she took on anything that came her way, but now on her way back home, everything fell apart, and she was desperately scared of what was going to happen.

“Max!” Isabel said rushing into Max’s room. Max groaned and rolled his eyes.

“Can’t you knock?” He said frustrated, sitting up from his spot on the bed.

“Liz’s parents were just in an accident.” She said out of breath. Max whipped his head in her direction in a quick instant.

“What happened?”

“I don’t know Maria said she called Liz, and that she’s on her way here.” Max felt his whole world crashing down, Liz was coming back into his life in 6 months. Would he be able to stay away?

*****

Liz rushed into the hospital, hauling her luggage with her. She didn’t stop at home to drop it off; she thought it would be best if she just came straight to the hospital.

She stopped right in front of the front desk, dropping her bags down on the floor.

“Nancy, and Jeff Parker.” She said with the worry evident in her voice.

“Liz!” She turned to see Maria coming in from the waiting room. Liz sighed in relief and engulfed Maria in her arms.

“What happened?” She asked when they pulled apart.

“They were on their way back from this thing in Albuquerque, when a drunk swerved from the other lane and hit them. They were unconscious for a while, but they woke up 20 minutes ago, the doctor said that they should be just fine.” Maria explained.

“Oh thank god!” Liz exclaimed, feeling a sense of relief rush through her.

“Do you want to see them?” She asked. Liz nodded her head, and Maria helped bring her bags into the waiting room. Once everything was settled Liz walked into her parents’ room.

“Mom? Dad?” She whispered quietly, peaking her head in from the door. They both turned their heads to face her.

“Oh honey!” Her mother cried from her bed. Liz felt the tears rush to her face, just seeing her parents lying like that in the hospital, it was too much.

“I came as soon as I heard.” She said rushing to her parents’ side. She held both their hands.

“No big deal, just a bunch of scratches.” Her father said trying to wave it off.

“I’m so glad your ok.” Liz said choking back her sobs

“Lizzie, are you going to stay here for good?” Nancy asked. With everything that just happened today, she just wanted her daughter close to them.

“Of course.” Liz told them.

*****

“Is everything ok Maria?” Max asked through the phone as he talked to Maria, who was informing her of the Parker’s condition.

“Yes, they should be fully recovered in a couple of weeks.”

“And Liz?” Max asked unable to resist.

“She’s fine too.

“That’s good to hear.” Max said.

“Look Max I have to go now. Tell Michael to call me.

“K bye.” They hung up and Max fell back onto his bed. He wanted to see her so badly, but he knew he had to stay away, it was for the best; Future Max said the farther away he was from her, the safer she would be. He just wished he had enough strength to do so.

****

2 weeks later

Liz settled in back home, and her parents made a quick recovery, and everything was going good. Liz decided to take the two weeks off from school to be at her parent’s beck and call in order to help them with everything from the diner to their health. Now that they were recovered, it was time for her to face the music, and go back to school.

She was standing in front of her mirror taking in her appearance. She was different from the Liz Parker that everyone use to know. She was more care-free and ready to take everything on. She was ready to take on everything that hit her, she was done hiding, she wasn’t going to let Max Evans get to her.

Once she heard Maria beep from outside, she smoothed her skirt, took a deep breath, grabbed her books, and headed down stairs.

“Looking good Parker. Ready for your first day back?” Maria said as Liz got into the Jetta.

“As ready as I’ll ever be.” She said.

“Max and Tess aren’t together, so I don’t think you’ll have to be worrying about seeing them together.” Maria assured her.

“Why would I worry about seeing them together?” Liz asked cooly.

“Well I just thought..Never mind. So does this mean you’ll be joining us for the Czech meetings?”

“I guess.” Liz said.

5 minutes later they were walking into the school, and of course everyone was whispering and wondering about the return of Liz, but none of it bothered Liz, and of course the minute she walked in, the whole pod squad was standing in the middle of the lounge. Liz sucked in a big breath and braced herself for what was to come.

They walked over to the group.

“Hey Liz welcome back. You look great! Sorry to hear about your parents. I’m glad their better.” Isabel said giving the petite brunette a big smile. Liz returned the smile.

“Thanks, you look great too.” Isabel smiled her thanks.

“Yea, Welcome back Parker.” Kyle said walking up to her grabbing her into a hug. What Liz didn’t notice was the glare coming from the direction of Tess.

Max was speechless. Ever since he spotted Liz walking in the doors of the school he was blown away. She was breathtaking.

“Max, Tess. How are you guys?” Liz asked. She decided she was going to be the bigger person, and pretend like nothing ever happened.

“Good. Glad to know your parents are good.” Tess said giving her a smile once Kyle returned to her side.

“Thanks.” Liz said. Max was the only the one left to say something, before he could say anything the bell rang cutting him off.

Everyone parted their ways and walked in the direction of their classes, unaware of the pair of eyes watching them.

“Is that her? She look good.” A voice said coming from behind him. He turned around to face the guy.

“Yea, and Ima make her mine.” They both shared a laugh before walking back to their car speeding off.

Hey guys! Thanks for all the feedback! It's really appreciated! Sorry it took a while, RL is pretty hectic, classes and having to take care of 2 1/2 year old is not easy, but thanks for being patient!

Hope you like it....

***Disclaimer note: Some Quotes from the episode "MEET THE DUPES"***

Chapter 3

The next week went by faster than expected for Liz. Although she shared most of her classes with Max, he seemed to be un aware of her presence, which of course she expected. It wasn’t like she expected Max to give a damn about her anymore, he moved on.

Liz sighed as she closed her locker, it was finally Friday and she was just ready to go home and relax for the weekend. As she turned around to head in the direction of the exit, she smacked right into Max.

“Oh, sorry.” Liz said tensing up, moving back from him.

“It’s my fault.” He said with a serious voice. Liz nodded and started to walk away when she was stopped by his hand on her arm. Liz looked back at him.

“There’s going to be a meeting tonight at the UFO center. I just wanted to let you know.” He said. Liz nodded.

“I guess I’ll see you there then.” She gave him a weak smile and walked off. Max sighed and headed off as well.

*****

“So Max your saying that you brought us all here because of a star that croaked?” Michael said frustrated, he couldn’t believe he was missing out on the hockey game, because Max was the worst leader there could be.

“I think that we should take this into consideration, I mean, it could potentially be something big.” Max said trying to defense his motives.

Liz watched from the back of the group. It had been so long since she had been to one of these meetings, everyone seemed so content, and interested, like she once use to be, but now she felt like an outsider, like she didn’t belong.

“Which one is it?” Lonnie asked Zan looking down at the group from up top.

“The brunette.” Zan answered keeping his focus on Liz.

“Not bad.” Lonnie had to admit.

“Hey guys sorry I’m late...” Alex starts laughing when he took in their appearance. The 3 dupes turned to the outsider; eyebrows raised.

“I don’t remember it saying anything about costumes on the invitation. It’s too late for Halloween, and too early for Mardi Gras, so what’s going on? Are we going on the Ricky Lake show or something?” Alex ceased his laughter and jokes, when he looked down to see the real Max, Isabel, and Michael.

“Umm...scratch that question..who needs a holiday to dress up anyway..” Alex rushed down the steps to meet up with the rest of the gang, only to come meet a frustrated Max.

“Alex, your late.” Alex was speechless and dumbfounded, but pointed upstairs, where the dupes had then appeared.

“Ayo up here!” Zan yelled down towards them, grabbing their attention.

Max, Michael, Isabel, and Tess tensed up and faced towards the trio, who were descending down the steps.

Once they came face to face with each other, they looked at each other up and down, taking in the different appearances.

“Who are you.” Max said breaking the silence. This was too much, just 6 months earlier Max came face to face with a future version of himself, and now with these freaks. He looked at the duplicate of himself, secretly hoping he too was from the future, saying that him and Liz could be together.

“We’re you.” Lonnie said stepping up to the plate.

“I don’t– understand.” Isabel said feeling confused, as she looked at this person, who seemed to look like her, but at the same time was completely different.

“They’re shape shifters.” Michael said looking at everyone, he didn’t know what he was feeling.

“I know ya’ll must be buggin, cuz I’d be buggin too.” Lonnie was trying to calm everyone down.

“How could this be?” Isabel asked looking over at Max.

Then in hit Michael, when he was talking to that man,

“Eight, eight! There were eight pods originally,” Michael said out loud.

“You know bout that?” Rath asked raising an eyebrow.

“Yea, I..we just found out recently. I just didn’t think you’d look like us.” Michael scratched his eyebrow, things were about to get so complicated.

Zan, who was still had not said anything, was looking intensely at Liz. The energy he was getting from her was so strong, and unbearable, no one ever gave him such a pull towards them, not even Ava, when she was alive.

Liz, too, was staring intently at Zan. He looked so much like Max, but yet was so different. She was getting a weird sensation from him, it was like what she felt when Max was around, only it was a little bit different. Liz tried to ignore it, and tuned back into the conversation the others were having.

“We’re from New York.” Liz noticed that they were asking the simple questions, and the answers were vague, the question she wanted to know was where was their Tess.

“Uh, but there’s only three of you.” Liz said speaking up. Max turned to look back at her, he caught her eyes, but only for a second; she turned and looked back at the others.

“We had a fourth, but we lost her.” Lonnie told her. Liz just nodded at the answer, and let the others ask the questions.

“How did you loose, your umm...” Isabel was unsure of what to call her.

“Ava.” Zan answered for her. Liz looked up at him, and saw this his fixation was still settled on her.

“She died in an accident, a stupid accident.” Lonnie said holding back the emotions, usually she was strong, but Ava really meant something to her, and loosing her was so hard.

“I’m sorry.” Isabel said. Lonnie just nodded.

“I’m Rath.” Rath said trying to relieve the tension.

“Max.”

“Zan.”

“Lonnie.”

“Isabel.”

“Michael.”

“That’s Tess, and um these are our friends, Maria, Alex, Kyle, and, um and Liz.” Max said introducing everyone else.

“Not to be rude or anything, but what are you doing here?” Isabel said, asking the one question that was running through everyone’s mind.

“Actually, we here to talk to ya girl.” Zan said shifting his gaze from Liz to Max.

Max looked at him confused, “My Girl?” Zan nodded, and nodded over to Liz’s direction. “Ya girl.” Everyone turned and looked back confused at Liz, who was shocked more than anyone else.

Here it is..hope you like it! Sorry again for the wait!

Chapter 4

Max looked back at Liz with a look of confusion, and fear; fear of what could happen to her, because of these people.

“Umm...first of all I’m not his girl..and second..what would you possibly want with me? I mean I’m just a human.” So many thoughts were running through Liz’s head, she couldn’t think straight. Just when she thought she didn’t belong, she was again proven wrong. Why was she constantly being dragged into this abyss that contained Max Evans, and his entire existence?

“Ya more useful than ya think.” Lonnie told her.

“Could we talk alone?” Zan asked directly to Liz, but his answer came from a different voice.

“No.” Max stated firmly. Liz glared at Max, who the hell was he to make her decisions for her?

“Yes.” Liz said speaking for herself. Max looked back at her, couldn’t she understand how dangerous this was for her. Future Max told him, that their enemies would use her against him, how could she just trust these strangers like that?

“Liz, I said no.” Max told her firmly.

“I’m sorry Max, but correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure that he asked me, and I think I’m pretty capable enough to speak for myself.” Liz was up to her last nerve, she was done with that part of Max Evans. He didn’t have control over her any longer, he made that perfectly clear the moment he decided to sleep with Tess.

Zan smiled at Liz’s attitude, while the others were struck with awe. No one was sure what really went on between the two, but now it was certain for, Max no longer controlled any part of Liz.

“We just gonna use that back room right there.” Zan announced as he placed his hand on Liz’s lower back gently guiding her towards the back room; Max glaring at their every move.

Rath and Lonnie gathered together and separated themselves from the others, as they got together to talk about the recent events that just played out.

“What the fuck could they want with Liz?” Tess asked furiously. She couldn’t understand, Liz was just a human, they had nothing to do with her.

“I don’t know, but they sure as hell aren’t going to get to her.” Max said enraged. He couldn’t believe what was happening, he was hurting just as much as Liz, but it was already proven to be that she was bitter and cold towards him. He wished so much he could just tell her the truth, but it wasn’t possible. He wasn’t sure about a lot, but if he was sure about one thing it was that he still loved her, and would protect her with everything he had, even if she hated him.

“Well great job you did so far Max, because I’m pretty sure that her and your clone are in that back room.” Michael said rolling his eyes. Max was doing a lousy job being King, he couldn’t even control Liz anymore, and Liz would usually kiss the ground Max was on.

“I don’t think we should speculate just yet, maybe Liz was right, I mean nothing could possibly happen to her if we’re standing out here, she could just find out what they want, and then tell us.” Isabel said being the only reasonable one. In all honestly, she was pretty shocked to see how Liz acted to Max. Shocked as she was, she was still damn proud that someone finally stood up to Max. He had been acting so weird lately, and was taking it out on everyone, and it was about time that someone stood up to him.

*****

Liz was feeling extremely uncomfortable, and was regretting her decision about agreeing to have a chat with this Zan. She just wanted to stand up for herself once, and be able to do things if she wanted to, even if Max said no. She wanted to prove to him, that he didn’t effect her any more, just like he felt about her.

“Umm, I guess I’m pretty confused here, just as everyone out there. I mean I’m just human, I couldn’t really understand what you could possibly want from me. But I guess my curiosity caught up with me, so I’m here.” Liz said breaking the silence.

Zan was looking at her, the vibes he was getting from her were strong. Whatever this Max found in her must have been something damn good.

“Like I said, our queen, Ava died.”

“I don’t understand what that has to do with me.”

“Well we’s got this invitation to sum’ typa meetin’ from the peeps up there and they want the king and queen ta be there.”

“I’m still not catching on.”

“Well our queens is gone, and we need the otha one.”

“Then why ask me, why didn’t you get Tess?”

“Cuz Tess aint the queen.”

“Wait, if Tess isn’t the queen, then you mean.” Then it hit Liz. She waved her hands no and backed up.

“No...no..no. I’m not the queen, I’m human, I came out of my mother’s stomach. I have human blood.” Liz wasn’t going to believe anything. She couldn’t possibly be queen, she didn’t have anything to do with Max anymore, she couldn’t be his queen.

“I would say ya should check ya blood again, and I know yous a queen, I got that vibes from yous.”

“Vibes?”

“Yea, queen vibes. I had the same thing with Ava, and I got them even stronger from yous, and aint got shit from the Ava here. So that would make you queen.”

Liz was having trouble soaking everything in, and her mind was spinning from the new information.

“How could this be possible?” Liz said turning around; her back now to Zan.

“Well, we knows that Max healed ya, and that changed ya. But basically yous queen, cuz Max choose you as his queen.”

Liz turned back to face Zan.

“How do you know that Max healed me?”

“Our protector kept tabs on your king and his little members.”

“And what do you mean that Max choose you as his queen?”

“Well, his heart belongs ta yous, he wants no one but yous, making him choose you ova anyone else. If he would have followed his destiny, and aint bother with you, and did his thang with the Ava here, then we wouldn’t be needin’ yous. But that aint the case and he chose yous. So here I am, havin’ this talk with yous instead.” Zan explained.

“So you want me to go to this, meeting because the other queen is dead. I mean why don’t you just take Tess. How could they even know if I’m queen or not? Isn’t Tess the programed queen?”

“They gots they ways of knowing, who queen is. To them, afta Max healed yous, you is one of them, so it don’t matter if Tess is the programed queen, he aint choose her.”

Liz felt like she couldn’t breathe. This couldn’t be possible. She didn’t want this responsibility, she didn’t want to be Max’s queen.

“Wait, but Max did choose Tess. He followed his destiny, he slept with Tess. I saw them together.” Liz explained, the emotions of the situation coming back to her.

“Well, I don know what ta tell yous, but Tess aint the queen. You is.”

‘Well that’s just fucking great.’ Liz thought to herself. She closed her eyes shut as she took everything in. She didn’t know how to react, she just wanted that part of Max Evans to leave. He hurt her in every way possible; he shattered her heart, and ruined her existence. She just wanted out, but here she was being dragged back in, and had no control to stop it.

*****

The others got up out of their chairs as they heard the backroom door open, and Zan and Liz walked out; Zan walking towards Rath and Lonnie, and Liz walking towards the others.

“What they want?” Maria asked, as she walked to Liz’s side. Liz’s gaze was on Max, who’s eyes was fixated on hers.

“He said that I’m queen.” They all stared at her with disbelief.

*****

“We gotta change ha mind, she our only way outta this damn planet.” Lonnie said from afar watching the others. She was getting impatient with the whole situation, it was bad enough that they lost Ava, and now they had to deal with this human.

“Don worry, I got it.” Zan said eyeing Liz as he formed his plan.

Chapter 5

Liz stood outside her balcony contemplating over what to do. All this was just too overwhelming for her. She had just found out she was no longer human, biologically speaking, and on top of that she was a queen to a foreign planet; a planet that had everything to do with Max Evans. How was she expected to move on if she was constantly being pushed in the direction of him?

She didn’t want to be pushed towards him, he hurt her in more ways than possible, he had slept with Tess, and went against everything he had ever said to her. She knew that she hurt him when she walked out that day at the cave, but she was hurting too. She didn’t expect him to take the easy way out, and go to Tess. She had never imagined that, and yet it happened, and her heart managed to deceive her again.

Grandma Claudia’s words rang through her mind, “Follow your heart, wherever it leads you.” Why should she follow her heart, if it always leads her into the worst? She needed a sign, just one sign, to show her that her heart was not wrong, that everything would be ok.

She sighed and closed her eyes as she crossed her arms on her balcony sill, and rested her head on them. When would this constant ache in her heart cease?

“Oh, ma bad, you was busy or somethin’?” Liz looked up and found Zan climbing over the rail of the stairs on to her balcony. Liz wiped her tears and got up.

“Umm, no, but umm, can I help you?” Liz asked. Zan smiled, and walked over to her lawn chair and took a seat.

“I like ya digs, it’s tight.” He commented looking around. Liz looked at him confused.

“Umm, thanks.” She was feeling uncomfortable, and on top of that she was starting to get those vibes, that he talked about earlier. It was making the concept of being queen even more possible.

“I’m makin’ ya uncomfortable?” Zan said sensing her feelings. If he was going to succeed in this plan, he knew he had to make up for everything Max ruined. The thing she didn’t know was that he saw and felt all the pain, she had that was due to Max. If he wanted her to trust him, he had to heal those wounds.

“Howw..did you know that?” Liz stumbled at her words. The vibes was suddenly hitting her like a ton of bricks, and she wasn’t sure how she was supposed to react.

“Them vibes. Remember? I can feel what your feelin’. It’s cool.” Liz nodded at his response. She took a seat on her balcony sill. Since he was here, maybe he can answer her questions.

“Umm, I have some questions?” Zan smiled, and sat back against the chair.

“Shoot.”

“You said, that these vibes you get from me, wasn’t as strong as they were with, your Tess. Why?”

Zan smiled, she was smart, and that could become useful to him.

“Well, to make it easy, I aint love her. She was someone I had to accept. But see, ya ol’ boy, he loves you, he gotta if he chose someone else than the programed queen. Thats why, ya vibes is so strong, cuz’ the shit from you is genuine, while the shit from Ava was always there.”

“You also said that if Max followed his destiny, then I wouldn’t be needed. I saw him with Tess, he did follow his destiny.”

“Well I don know what to tell you princess. But I can guess, that since Tess was here after you, Max been done choosin’ you, since before she came. So even if they done the deed, shit were already set in stone.”

“So you’re saying that I was queen before Tess came to town?”

“Yeah.”

“Ok, then. That question’s answered. I’m sorry this is all way too much. I mean I wasn’t prepared for this.” Liz looked down at the floor. She was some what hoping that Max still loved her, and that’s why even after he slept with Tess, she was the queen, but she was queen before Tess, so Max’s heart didn’t belong to her any more.

“He aint worth it.” Liz looked up at Zan.

“Excuse me?”

“Max, he aint worth it. You’s a beautiful girl, and you’s got a lot goin’ fa you’s. You’s shouldn’ be stressin’ him if he aint gonna give you’s the time of day. He messed up, and I’m pretty sure he knows it, but if don’ then he dumb as hell. But what I know right?” Zan got up from the lawn chair and walked over to the ladder.

Once he reached the railing he looked back at her.

“I know yous don’ know us that well. But goin’ with us aint gonna be so bad, if ya just think bout it. It get yous away from all the shit down here. Plus, I ain’t him, I’d treat yous like the queen you is. Anyways, ma bad for takin’ up ya time.” With that he climbed over and descended down the ladder.

Liz stared after him, his words ringing in her head loud and clear. “You didn’t.” She whispered before going back into her room.

*****

“Could you believe that shit? She’s not queen. I am! I don’t believe it.” Tess huffed. Everything was going so wrong, just when she thought Liz Parker was out of her way, she found her way back.

“Quit getting your panties in a bunch. If she’s queen, she’s queen. There’s nothing you can do about it. If you were that important, then they wouldn’t have bothered with Liz. So just deal with it.” Michael said. He was getting pretty annoyed with listening to Tess complain over and over about Liz being queen. If he was going to be lead by someone, he was glad that it would be Liz. She was someone sensible, and stood up for herself. That’s what a leader should be. Not two idiots like Max and Tess.

“Michael’s right. There’s nothing we can do about it now. I guess the main objective here is to protect Liz from what’s to come.” Max said. He was trying to figure out why Future Max hadn’t told him of all this. Was the reason Liz being queen why they used her against him? Also, if Future Max said Liz would be safe once they succeeded in doing what they did, then why was Liz still in harms way? He had so many thoughts bouncing around in his head, and he just wished for once, he could just be cleared of everything, and he and Liz could be together, without any worries.

“Well that’s going to be pretty hard to do, since Liz has a mind of her own, Max. In the end it’s Liz decision if she wants to go with them. She made it seem pretty clear, that you can’t control her in any way.” Isabel said thinking back to the way Liz acted when Max refused for her to talk to Zan.

“Yeah, about that. What the hell happened between you two, before she left for Florida?” Michael asked curiously.

Max looked around nervously. “Just forget about it. It’s not what’s important now. Whatever we have to do, we have to make sure that Liz doesn’t go. It’s not safe for her. Like Isabel said, I have no control over the situation, but that doesn’t mean none of you don’t either. Maybe you guys should try and talk to her. Isabel, you can talk to Alex, and Michael you can talk to Maria. Right now our main priority is to make sure that Liz is out of harms way.”

Isabel and Michael seemed to agree with Max’s decision, but Tess on the other hand seemed displeased. She was getting tired of everyone falling at Liz’s feet; things were suppose to be good for her. Liz left for Florida, and everything was good, but then she came back and took everything she worked for. She needed to do something, and she needed to do it quick.

*****

“Hey chica, how’s things going?” Maria asked climbing through Liz’s window to get to her balcony. Liz shifted her gaze at the stars to Maria.

“How would you feel to know that you’re no longer human, biologically speaking, and on top of that a queen to a planet which has everything to do with the man who broke your heart?”

“Not good, then.” Maria said taking a seat down next to Liz. Liz just shrugged her shoulders and stared back up at the stars.

“So, are you going to this meeting thingy?” Maria asked. She previously had a talk with Michael, at first she thought that it would also be best if Liz stayed in Roswell, away from harm’s way, but then the best friend side of her came out, and she could see how unhappy Liz was. Maybe Liz just needed to get away for a while, but the only problem was that she was uncomfortable with Liz going alone with these people who they had no idea what they were capable of.

“I have no idea Maria. A part of me wants to leave everything to do with Max behind, but the other part of me in screaming out to me to pursue this more. Whether I like it or not, I’m involved, and running away from it won’t help it this time. “

“Well you know whatever you decide, it is going to be your decision and only yours, and whatever you choose to decide, you know I’m here for you no matter what. But just a little advice, think it through really carefully, I just don’t want things to turn out badly.”

“I know Maria, and thanks, for being here for me. You know I would be completely lost without you.” Maria smiled gathered Liz in a hug.

“That’s what I’m here for.” She whispered into her shoulder.

Chapter 6

Liz contemplated on what to do. One side of her was telling her that Max was right, and that it could be dangerous, while the other side was screaming at her to go with Zan.

She didn’t know why, but after that night Zan came over she found herself thinking about him more and more. She found herself not afraid, but more so intrigued. There was something about him, other than the fact that he looked like the love of her life, and he sent her all these vibes, she felt a sense of comfort with him. She felt like maybe he can help her to the right direction, and eventually help her be rid of Max.

She thought about what could actually happen to her if she went with Zan. What if it did turn out to be dangerous, what if something happened to her, would it really be that bad? She was already stuck in the middle of a hard place, and she was just begging to be released, but it just wasn’t happening. Max had a strong hold on her and she desperately wanted to get free. Maybe Zan was right; it could be her one escape.

Sure Florida was a good way to escape, but she was constantly reminded of Max. Every time she was living a normal human life she found herself wanting to know every aspect of what was going on in Roswell. She kept wondering what was happening with the aliens? Was anything new developing? As much as she wanted to get out, part of her wanted to pursue the life she lived in the “I Know an Alien Club.” It was the one thing she grew to know, and as much as she wanted to let go of Max, she didn’t want to let go of the bond she grew with the others.

It seemed like after going through her pros and cons list, the pros surpassed the cons. That could only mean one thing to her; she should go to New York with Zan and the dupes. Now the biggest challenge would be telling the others.

*****

“Zan you sure you have this? She’s the only way out. After loosing Ava I don’t wanna do this shit no mo. It coulda been anyone of us, I jus wanna forget all this shit and just be out.” Lonnie ranted as she paced in front of Zan and Rath.

“Max did a good job of fuckin ha ova. I felt that shit. She needs to get out, and we gonna help ha do that. She gonna come, don stress it Lon.” Zan reassured her.

“I know…. I know you got it. It’s just without Ava, shit don seem right. Damn you I jus wish so bad it was ha that was with us na mean. We could all four gone together, and neva had to deal with all this bull shit.” Lonnie said her voice filled with sorrow as she collapsed on the bed, memories of Ava flooding her mind.

“Shit happens fo a reason Lon. But we can’t give up cuz of it, we gon get through it. Jus let ya big bro handle it.”

*****

Max nervously waited, in Michael’s apartment for all the others to arrive. The reason for his extreme nervousness was because he wasn’t the one who called the meeting, but it was Liz who did.

He knew she had probably come to a decision and that is why she wanted everyone to gather. He was praying with everything in him that she decided to stay in Roswell. He knew what Future Him had told him and he didn’t want her to be in any danger and without him near her, the danger could be in great heights for her.

Liz stood outside the door of Michael’s apartment. She was shaking, and she was not at all prepared to bare her news. She knew everyone was already in there and she was the last one to arrive. She didn’t want to keep them waiting, so she took in a big breath and walked in.

The minute she entered the room her eyes immediately caught Max’s eyes. She quickly shifted her gaze and they found their way to Zan. ‘Weird.’ Liz thought to herself. She mentally laughed at that, it was like she couldn’t have the real thing so she settled for second best.

“Hi everyone.” Liz said nervously as all eyes were on her. She only wished she knew what everyone thought. Everyone greeted her, but in all reality they were anxious to know her decision.

“I’ve made a decision. And I’ve decided, after a lot of thinking, that it would be best for me to...to stay in Roswell.”

Max blew out a breath of relief. His worse fear was over, and now he can watch from afar and keep her out of danger.

“I’m sorry Zan, Lonnie, and Rath. I know that Ava would have wanted you to go to this meeting, and accomplish what you’ve been yearning to do, but I’m not her. I actually was deciding to go to New York with you, but somewhere throughout the lines I’ve decided not to. I can’t go and be something that I’m not, and I can’t go and represent something that I have no clue idea about. To you I might be queen, but to me I’m just a regular human girl. It wouldn’t be fair to you or to your people, I’m not what any of you expect, and I’m not going to try and pretend. I’m sorry.” Liz pleaded in Zan’s eyes. She didn’t know why, but she needed his acceptance and is reassured by him. He looked away from her eyes, she felt a sense of hurt from him, but she didn’t know if it was from her not going, or for him knowing that he won’t be getting what he wants.

Lonnie and Rath left the apartment with raging anger in them. Zan stayed behind for a little after, to let everyone know that it was ok, and that he’d be back after he calmed Rath and Lonnie down.

Maria walked up and gave Liz a hug, “You made the right choice.” Liz just smiled and hoped that Maria was right.

No one treated Liz like she was wrong, and they were all relieved to know that Liz wasn’t going; Max was happy because he knew she wouldn’t be in danger, Michael because he didn’t trust anyone, Isabel because it made Max happy, and Tess because her throne wasn’t threatened.

“I’m just going to go home, I’m kind of tired. I’ll see you all in school tomorrow.” Liz said bidding her goodbye before she left the apartment.

When Liz reached her apartment she was surprised to find Zan waiting for her on her balcony. She placed her purse on her nightstand and climbed out the window to join him. She wrapped her arms around her to prevent her from the cool night breeze.

She just stared at him waiting for him to speak. He turned to look at her when he sensed she was waiting for him to say something.

“How you expect to do what ya always say, when you don’t do it?” He asked. Liz looked at him confused.

“I don’t understand.”

“Follow ya heart, where ever it takes ya right? How ya gonna do that if ya don’t follow ya heart.” Liz looked at him with wide open eyes.

“How did you know that? Did you read my mind or something.” Liz questioned.

“Does it really matter? I’m right aint I? You want to go, but yous afraid. When you gonna stop runnin’ scared? There’s a whole big bad worlds out there, and you expect that this little towns gonna protect ya? I don think so.” Liz looked at him. She knew he was right, and she hated him for that. She hated that he knew everything that she felt, she hated that he knew everything she was thinking; it was suppose to be Max who could do that.

“It’s not that simple.” Liz answered.

“Yea it is, it’s jus you won let it be.” Zan said walking closer to her. Liz looked up at him and as he was inching closer to her she backed away slowly until she came to a stop as her back hit the wall.

Zan stood inches away from her, with his face centimeters away from hers.

“I aint him, we two different people. I ain't gonna make the same mistakes he do.” Liz closed her eyes and tried to stop her body’s reaction to him as she stood so close to him. She could feel his breath on her lips and her mind was screaming out to take the plunge.

“Open ya eyes, follow ya heart.” Liz opened her eyes and stared into his amber eyes. She saw him leaning close and she no longer had any control. He pressed his lips against hers and kissed her hard and full of passion. Liz closed her eyes and kissed him back with all her might. Her arms wrapped around his shoulders and his hands disappeared into her hair. He walked her away from the wall and towards her lawn chair, where he laid her gently, neither one of them breaking the kiss.

They kissed hungrily, and his craving for her grew to an ultimate high as he detangled his hands from her hair and roamed her body. Liz moaned into his mouth, the need for him strong and evident. He was creating a fire inside of her, and she needed desperately to put it out. His mouth slowly descended down her body to her neck. He started his attack on her neck as she slowly moaned out his name from the contact. She was aching for him.

Her hands found the trim of his shirt and she pushed it upward and he quickly pulled away from her so they could discard it. He then went for her shirt, which followed in the same path as his shirt, and found its way on the floor. His lips moved down her body, he kissed some of the most sensitive parts of her body, and she was burning up inside as his lips came into contact with her skin. He reached for the hook of her bra and unfastened it and discarded the bra as well.

Liz looked up at his eyes, and saw nothing, but desire. His thumb ran across her, now hard nipple and she moaned as he touched her. He smiled and cupped one of her breasts and brought his lips down to her nipple, as he stroked the other one with his thumb. She moaned as he worked wonders on her with his mouth. She never felt this way, and she couldn’t stop herself, she needed him too much.

Her need grew harder as his obvious arousal poked at her stomach. She reached down and reached for his zipper, slowly bringing it down. Zan pulled away from her as he helped her rid each other of their clothes. They were soon naked in each other’s presence and Liz gasped at the skin-to-skin contact. His hand disappeared between her legs and found their way into the depths of her feminine parts. He stroked her gently and she moaned at his touch. His want for her grew stronger as he felt her want for him, and felt the wetness leaking out from her.

He brought his face back to meet hers and searched into her eyes.

“Do yous really want this?” He asked. She didn’t answer him directly, but instead brought her head up and captured his lips with hers. That was enough of an answer and he positioned the head of his penis to her entrance.

“Yous a virgin?” Zan asked he wasn’t sure if she was, but he sensed that she was from the vibe he was receiving. She shook her head, and arched her hips up, she needed him, and she had no control over her body.

He slowly eased his way inside her and he brought his hand down once he reached her virginal barrier. He broke through and his hand healed the pain away. Liz moaned at the new sensation, and they rocked together in sync. Liz chanted his name in a mantra, and Zan placed soft kisses over her body.

Liz screamed out in ecstasy as she experienced her first orgasm, and Zan followed soon after. Zan gathered Liz in his arms, and kissed her forehead, as his exhaustion took over and fell asleep. Liz on the other hand shed tears as thoughts of Max flooded her mind.

Hey Guys! Sorry it took so long!! Thanks for all the feedback!

Special thanks to my Beta Jill!!

Chapter 7

Zan smirked the whole way back to his hotel with Lonnie and Rath. His plan worked, and Liz had agreed to go with him to New York and to the meeting. It was all a piece of cake and he couldn’t be happier to know that he could finally go home. His duplicate really did some damage to Liz and he was glad he was there to pick up the pieces.

“Where you been?” Lonnie asked as Zan walked into the hotel room. He hadn’t shown up last night and she got worried. Ever since Ava had died she just had kept a guard up, every little thing would worry her.

“I been takin’ care of business. I told you I got this shit in the bag. The girl’s comin’ with us to New York. We get to go home baby!” Zan gloated.

“Stop lyin’! How you did it?” Rath asked. Zan smirked.

“Don’t worry about it, just know that it’s done. Pack ya shit, we goin’ home!” Lonnie smiled; she had been waiting for this for too long. She knew if she left it up to her baby brother everything would be ok.

*****

“Liz what are you doing here so early? ” Maria asked when she opened her front door to find Liz.

Liz bit her lip, she knew that it was 4:30 a.m and that she really shouldn’t have come so early but she needed to talk to someone.

“Sorry, I just needed to talk to someone.” Liz pleaded.

“Liz you know you’re always welcome, come in.” Maria said opening the door wide enough for Liz to walk in. Once Liz entered Maria shut the door and they both walked into Maria’s room. Once they got comfortable Maria waited for Liz to start. When she got nothing she decided to start the conversation.

“So what’s up?” Maria asked.

“I’m going to need you to just listen to what I have to say and once I’m done saying what I’ve said that’s when I need you to respond.” Maria looked at Liz skeptically, but agreed.

“I slept with Zan…” Maria’s eye went wide and she opened her mouth to speak, but was interrupted.

“Uh…I wasn’t finished.” As hard as it was Maria closed her mouth and let Liz proceed.

“I slept with Zan, and I’m going to go to New York. I know you’re going to think that he tricked me, and that it’s not a smart idea because now I’m hooked on him, but the truth is I want to go for me. See the thing is that I just need to get away from Max. I want to get away from him but I can’t because of this whole thing between us, this whole me being apart of this alien abyss. I can’t get out of it, and as much as I want to, I’m apart of it and I’ve accepted that. But that still doesn’t help my situation with Max.

So doing this, it helps me stay away from Max and in the same time stay in the whole alien abyss. I know you must think I’m being irrational, and that I should think it through, but I have and I’m done with thinking everything over and over. I just want to do what I need to do for me. I’m tired of just waiting around for something to happen. I want to make things happen, and this is how it’s going to happen.

You told me that whatever my decision was that you would have my back, so I need to know do you have my back? Do you think I’m making a complete mistake? Just tell me something Maria, because I’m desperately trying to hold on to something that I can’t get reach of.” Maria watched her best friend falling apart painfully and she just wished it to stop but she knew that there wasn’t much she could do but to just support her.

“I remember someone very big in your life, and someone who was very intelligent saying that you should follow your heart where ever it takes you, and to just trust it. If your heart is telling you to go, then you should go. Who am I to tell you not to go? Who is Max to tell you not to go? Only your heart can really show you the way, and if your heart wants to get away, then go, but just make sure that you’re careful, and that you stay away from as much danger as you can, and that you please always stay in touch with me.” Maria flashed Liz a weak but encouraging smile. Liz blew out a big sigh.

“Thank you Maria, I knew I could always count on you.” Liz said grabbing Maria into a big hug.

“What are friends for?” Maria whispered into her shoulder.

“I can’t face them Maria. I’m leaving tonight, and I can’t face them, will you please just let them know.” Liz said as they pulled apart.

“I can tell Michael, and I can handle Isabel as well, but sweetie, if what you’re looking for is closure, than you need to go to Max, because I know you would never be able to leave without telling him yourself.”

“I hate it when you’re right.”

“Life’s tough, what can you do? Now tell me. How was it?” Liz sighed but opened up to Maria, she told her every detail, the pain, the anguish, the feel of it all, and she spilled everything into that one conversation.

*****

Max was laying on his bed looking at the picture Liz had dropped by his window that night she thought that he betrayed their love. He wished so much that things could be different. He wished he could tell her the truth, but he knew what had to be done. He knew he had to keep her safe, and even if he couldn’t keep her from the heart break, at least he could keep her alive.

He knew that the way he had been acting lately was not quite like himself. He knew everyone was getting annoyed at him. Michael felt that he was inadequate and a poor leader and Isabel would always see him wallow around. But they didn’t know why. They would never know what he was going through. They all wanted him to be this strong king, but he was just a boy; a boy who was dying inside without the love of his life to hold him up. He was supposed to be this great strong person, but he was weak. He was weak because of love, and as much as he tried, he couldn’t get himself together. He was becoming weak, and he knew it was a big disadvantage but he couldn’t help it. He longed for Liz so much but without her he was nothing.

A knock on his window brought him out of his thoughts. When he looked up to see who it was he couldn’t help but smile when he saw the exact person who was invading his mind at that exact moment. He got up off the bed and walked over to the window and opened it for her.

“Liz.” Max said with a smile, a smile that wasn’t returned to him.

“Can we talk?” Liz asked. She wanted to get it over with as fast as she could. Max nodded and tried to help her in but she refused his help and climb in without his help. Once fully inside the room Liz took in a big breath and prepared to bare her news.

“I’ve changed my mind Max, I’m going to New York with the others.” Max wasn’t expecting that to come out of her mouth. He wasn’t sure of what to say but he knew he couldn’t let her go through with it.

“Liz, you can’t…”

“Max please. I’m tired of fighting with you, and I’m tired of being so cold towards you. I’m my own person, and I make my own decisions. Apparently you make your own to, but you have no control over me anymore. I’m not so sure why you’re so strong against me not going, but I know it can’t be because you feel scared for me, because obviously all your feelings for me disappeared when you slept with Tess.”

The throbbing in Max’s heart hit an all time high, and his chest burned from anguish, he wanted to tell her and was trying to strain himself.

“Liz…”

“Max, just let me finish. I didn’t come here to yell at you. You did what you wanted. Wasn’t that what we always said what we would do? Follow our hearts. You followed your heart and I was bitter at first, but if Tess was really what you wanted who was I to stop you. Look I’m just here to tell you that I’m sorry. I ran when things got hard, that day I left you at the desert, I shouldn’t have, I didn’t follow my heart then and I ended up regretting it every day after that. I guess that’s what the pain of regrets is huh? Well I’m tired of regretting my decisions; I’m tired of the pain that comes with it. Something inside of me is screaming at me to go to New York with Zan, and this time I’m not going to run scared. I’m sorry Max, this is my decision and I’m afraid there’s nothing you can do to change it. I just came here so you could find out from me and not from Maria. I guess I owe you that much.” Liz bit her lip she didn’t want to hear what he had to say. She said what she had to say and she just wanted to leave.

“Liz wait, please just trust me, you’ll be in danger. I can’t risk it, please just trust me.” Max pleaded.

Liz sighed and closed her eyes.

“I guess that’s the problem Max, because I don’t trust you, I’m sorry.” Liz said before she turned around and climbed out the window leaving behind a mourning Max.

*****

“Aight babe, you ready?” Zan said wrapping his arms around Liz as Rath loaded their bags in the Trans Am.

Liz looked around her surrounding taking one last look around her home. She took a deep breath, this was it, she thought. She turned to look at Zan and nodded her head yes. He smiled at her before they all got into the car and sped off to troubles ahead.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

and thanks to my beta Jill!

Chapter 8

Liz looked around her surroundings, and couldn’t for the life of her imagine what it would be like to grow up in a place like this. It was a sewer, literally. They had managed to get a computer, and a couch, and a couple of beds around, but other than that, the other set of the Royal Four was living in a New York City sewer.

“Feels good to be home.” Rath said dropping the bags and crashing down on the couch.

“Word.” Lonnie said straddling him. Liz couldn’t help but feel the odd one out, and found herself regretting her decision. Once Zan sensed that from her he immediately took action.

“Come on Lizzie, I gots ma own spot in this place, It’s a bit nicer than this.” Zan said leading her over to a corner. When he noticed Liz wasn’t noticing he waved his hand and the bed that was there was now covered in silk sheets, and the sewer walls were nicer, painted in a deep ruby red color.

“Is this your spot?” Liz asked, noticing the difference. At least it looked more comfortable than everything else.

“Yep, me and yous can share it.” Zan said placing their bags down on the bed. Liz whipped her head in his direction. They were moving to quickly. Liz was sure she had made a mistake when she slept with Zan that night, it was just all her anger channeled up into one emotion and she wasn’t thinking straight. She hoped Zan hadn’t thought too much into it, and hoped he didn’t expect anything from her.

“Oh, you know I can just sleep on the couch, I don’t want to intrude or anything.” Liz said quickly.

“Nah, I get it. Ma bad, I’m rushing things. It’s all good. You aint intruding, you the guest, take the bed, I got the couch. Don’t stress it.” Zan said sending her a wink. If he wanted her to work to his advantage, he’d have to butter her up.

“Are you sure, because I don’t mind.”

“I said don’t stress it.” Liz nodded her head. She sat down on the bed and took a deep breath. She had so many thoughts wandering her mind, and that’s when it hit her, she had made her decision so quick, she hadn’t thought things through like she normally did, and she had so many unanswered questions.

“You look like you gots questions.” Zan said getting comfortable on the bed.

“Yeah, I guess we left so fast, I never really had anytime to ask you any.”

“Well shoot.”

“How long am I supposed to stay here for? I mean I do have a family to go back home to, and they’re going to be worried. And when’s this meeting? And technically what’s going to happen once we get there?” Liz just fired away, and Zan tried to come up with the answers he knew she wanted to hear.

“Ok, slow down a bit. The summit meetings, in two days. But first there’s a test.”

“Test?”

“Yeah, to make sure everyone here is really the royals, but don’t worry you’ll pass. After that, we need to come to an agreement about things, and if we succeed, then it’s up to you if you wants to go home or not.”

“Umm not really sure what you mean. Agree on what things? And it’s up to me? I don’t get it.”

“Well, agree on our way back home. That’s the whole reason why we holding this shit, is so we can decide on a way to get back home. See up there, mad shit is going down, blood on the streets type of things. Going to this meeting is a way for peace, and with peace we can return back home.” Liz looked at him shocked.

“Wait, that’s possible, going back to your planet?” Liz asked.

“Yeah, if we come to an agreement. It’s up to you, if yous want to come or not.”

“Wait, you mean I can go? It’s not harmful for me in anyways.”

“Not that I know, you the queen, people’s want you there.”

“But I’m not Tess, they don’t know me like they knew her. How are you so sure they want me?”

“It aint about our past lives. When we came down here, we came down kind of like a new beginning. In the old life, Tess was the queen, because that’s who was chosen. But when we came down here we gots a clean slate, and you was chosen queen. So it don’t really matter to them, the queen was someone who’s like, I guess like the queen of London. She’s just a pretty thing to look at, and is there for show, while the big boys handle the real things. But the thing is, without a queen, the king is useless, because a King must choose a mate before he can take the throne. You get it?”

“Um yeah. So you just need me there, to show that you can get the throne back because there still is a queen?”

“Basically yeah.”

“But you said I can choose if I want to go or not, If me and Ava are the queens, with her gone, I’m the only one left. So if you go back to your planet, wouldn’t you need me to go with you because no one else can be queen, because the queen has already been chosen?”

‘Shit.’ Zan thought. She was smarter than he expected.

“Look, don’t stress it right now. These peoples willing to do anything to get peace up there, we’ll figure it out then. It’s late you should go to sleep, we gots the test to take early in the morning.” Liz looked at him suspiciously, but decided to brush it off.

“Ok, I guess I’ll see you in the morning than.” Liz said unzipping her bag to get a new fresh pair of clothes.

“Aight.” Zan said getting up from the bed. He waved his hand and a door appeared.

“Thought you might like some privacy.” He said. Liz smiled a thanks, and he nodded.

“Night.” He said before closing the door. Zan rolled his eyes, he hated being this nice, but it was his only way back to his throne.

He walked over to Rath and Lonnie and sat down on the chair adjacent from them.

“Well what she say?” Lonnie asked.

“She be asking mad questions, she’s to smart for us. She know’s somethin’s up, like I predicted she don’t wanna go there.” Lonnie sighed.

“See what I tell you! She gotta go back, they won’t take us without her. She the only queen left Zan, you know damn well you aint gonna get the throne without her.”

“DON’T YOU THINK I KNOW THAT LON!” Zan screamed out frustrated. Why couldn’t Max have chosen his destined queen, it would have been so much easier, but no he chose this human girl.

“What are we gonna do.”

“Look, I’m gonna deal with it, but for now, she thinks she has a choice of staying or going, and we’re going to keep her thinkin’ that. When it comes to it, we’ll deal with it, she goin’ whether she wanna or not.” Zan said adamantly.

Hey guys!! Sorry it took so long, I had it done but it was at waiting with my beta who didn't have access to a computer! But anyways here it is and I hope you all like it! Thanks so much for all the great feedback!!

Chapter 9

“Maria, I told you everything’s ok. I’m still alive.” Liz said into the phone to her worrywart best friend.

“I know, but I still have to worry. I mean, you don’t know them, and you know. Ok I’m just going to sniff some cedar oil, I’m sorry, but this is my job. I’m supposed to worry; I’m freaking out here Liz. I need to know for sure, if everything is fine.” Liz sighed. This would now be the fifth time she had to reassure Maria in the last 10 minutes.

“Maria, I have all 10 toes, and 10 fingers, my head is intact, my eyes are where they should be, I can talk as you can see, I can hear perfectly fine other wise I answer you’re questions properly. Other than that, I’m OK!”

“Ok, ok, I get it. Dropping it now. So what’s going on down there?”

“Well, there is something that’s a bit odd…” Before Liz could even finish her sentence Maria interrupted her, “I KNEW IT! WHAT is it? Do they want you to sell out the pod squad? OH OR EVEN WORSE, do they want you dead?” Liz rolled her eyes.

“Ok drama queen, what happened to you sniffing your cedar oil huh? You need to breathe. Breath Maria, just breath.” Maria took two deep breaths.

“Ok, I think I got it out of my system. What’s up?”

“I don’t know, it’s nothing really to worry about, but it was something Zan had said about the whole reason for the meeting, was so that they could go home. Then he said I have a choice to either stay or not…”

“Wait! Go to, you know up there? Lizzie you can’t even consider it! What would I tell your parents? Oh your lovely daughter is out there somewhere exploring the depths of space. Hello, big no-no.”

“Maria, once again, can I finish?”

“Sorry.”

“Anyways, obviously I won’t be going. I know I was all opted on going here, but that was just for my own self closure sort of, but I’m not considering leaving my planet Maria. Even though I’m a queen of another planet, god it’s so weird even saying it, but anyways, like I was saying, I’m still human. My families down here, you guys are here, like you said I wouldn’t even consider it. I just want to be there to help them get their chance to go home.”

“Ok then what’s so weird about that?”

“I don’t know it was something Zan said, about the queen. I’m supposedly some big figure up there, and a man can’t be king without a queen, because it’s some sort of tradition. So I don’t get why I can stay down here, wouldn’t the whole planet go all pissy, if the king came back without a queen?”

“Well maybe it’s because you’re human, that they won’t mind so much. Or maybe because Zan can choose someone else when he gets there?”

“But that’s the thing, there were only two queens, Zan and Max both had the chance to choose them during their time down here. Zan chose Ava, and Max chose me, so that’s it, no other queen. Just me by default since Ava’s gone.”

“I see what you’re saying. Maybe you should ask Zan again.”

“I kind of did already, and he said not to worry about it. That they could make some sort of deal at the meeting, but I just think it’s weird.”

“Do you want me to call Michael, you know they would come down there as soon as I say that you’re in trouble. After all they are the whole reason why you’re there in the first place.”

“No, Maria, forget it. I’ll call you back later. I have to go do some test thingy, and I’ll let you know later.”

“TEST! WHAT TEST! YOU DIDN’T TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT A TEST!”

“BYE MARIA!!” After that Liz hung up, and placed the phone down next to her on the bed. She sighed and ran her hands through her head, the conversation between her and Zan last night ringing through her head. There was definitely something off, but she couldn’t put her finger on exactly what.

She didn’t want to call Max though; she couldn’t, not after how she ended things back home. She would just investigate a little further, and after that she’ll decide on what to do.

*****

“Max, it’s Michael, I’m coming in.” Michael said before he barged in Max’s room. Max, who was currently lying down on his bed, thinking about what Liz had said to him before she left, shot up in bed, hoping Michael has some information about Liz.

“What is it? Is it Liz? Is she ok?” Max shot out questions left and right, he needed to know if she was ok. Future Max had said that their enemies used her to get to him, they changed the future to make sure that wouldn’t happen.

“From what Maria told me, she’s still alive, and she’s doing pretty well. But Maria said she was skeptic about something.”

“What do you mean?”

“We should wait for Isabel to get here, I already knocked on the door, and she should be here…”

“Right now.” She said walking in the room, closing the door behind her, once she was fully in.

“What’s up?” She asked leaning against the wall.

“It’s Liz, Maria said that they talked earlier. There was something Liz was unsure about. She told Maria that Zan had told her the whole meeting was about them going back home.”

“Wait, home, as in…” Isabel interrupted.

“Yeah.” Michael answered.

“Is that even possible?” Isabel asked.

“Apparently it is, and they’re most likely going to be going.”

“They? Please tell me Liz isn’t as well.”

“That’s the thing I was going to get to. Maria told me that Zan had told Liz she had the choice to stay or go, and of course Liz wants to stay. She just wants to be assistance to help them go home.”

“Then what’s the problem?” Isabel asked.

“It was something Zan had said to Liz. Maria wasn’t really exact with it, and I really don’t pay attention to her much, especially when she’s ranting, but I think it was something about Zan needing Liz, because of some kind of King, Queen, tradition, so it really doesn’t make sense that Zan could go off to that planet without her.”

“It doesn’t. Liz has always been smart; she knows when something’s not right. Why didn’t she come to us?” Max questioned.

“Well Maxwell, I’m sure you can answer that, things between the two have you hasn’t been all that chummy.” Michael answered. Max sighed, he knew Michael was right, and if he knew Liz, he knew she would be stubborn, and not come to them, so he had to take matters into his own hands.

“Yeah, what’s up with that?” Isabel asked Max.

“It’s nothing to worry about right now. I know something’s not right, and I know Liz is stubborn, and she could really be in trouble. I don’t want to risk this. Liz doesn’t even have any powers. Get Tess, and call Maria, Alex, and see if Kyle could come to. We’re going to New York.” Max stated firmly.

Michael and Isabel looked at each other, they knew if Max was set on it, that it must happen, so they didn’t question it, and they got to work on getting the others.

Once they left Max started packing his things, he really made a mess of things, but once he successfully got Liz back home safe, he would try and fix them then.

*****

“Just look straight ahead.” The guy told Liz, who was sitting down on a chair. She was in some abandoned building, and she was about to get that test done on her, what ever that was.

Liz looked over at Zan, and he nodded his head reassuringly.

“It’s alright. I’m going next.” Liz complied with the guy’s orders and she looked straight ahead. He placed his hands behind Liz’s head, and soon a visual of the star constellation of the V appeared on the projection screen ahead. When the man removed his hands it disappeared.

“She passed, you’re next.” He said to Zan. Zan smiled at Liz, everything was going great. Liz got up, and Zan took his seat, and the guy repeated the process. Liz this time wasn’t really paying attention, but she was more concerned with herself, it was true. Max chose her as his queen she was really a queen. What did this mean?

“You both passed. Meet back here tomorrow, at 3.” With that the man waved his hand and the projection slide disappeared, he closed up his suitcase, and walked away. Zan smiled and wrapped his arms around Liz’s shoulder.

“See I told you it was all good. Now come on, let’s go get some food. My treat.” He said wrapping her tighter against him. Liz smiled back, but inside she was feeling off.

*****

“Max, I really think we should call Liz first, I mean she would really be pissed off at me, I wasn’t even suppose to say anything, and when I talked to her she seemed fine, I mean had all toes all fingers, the whole ordeal.”

“Maria, that was in the morning, and you know Liz is stubborn. Something isn’t right, and I know it. I put Liz in this situation and I’ll be damned if something happened to her because of it. We’re going, end of story. If you want you can stay, but nothing’s changing my decision.” Max stated determinedly.

“Ughh, ok fine, I’m going, but if we get in trouble, I’m blaming everything on you. And you eavesdropped on the conversation! Nothing about me telling Michael, got it?”

“Whatever you say Maria.” Max said. He checked over his things. He didn’t know what would be going down there, but he needed some things just in case.

“Hey, everyone’s all set out there.” Isabel said coming into the bedroom, where Michael, Maria, and Max were. Everyone else was waiting in the Michael’s living room.

“Great, everything’s good here too.” Max said. They walked out one after another into the living room.

“My dad couldn’t come, but he gave me these, just in case. He said to be real careful with them. They’re on safeguard right now, but still.” Kyle said opening a case, with 3 guns in them.

“Good, we don’t know what we could be dealing with. After the skins, we have everything to consider.” Max stated.

“Let’s get going then, Isabel, Alex, and myself in the Jeep. Kyle, Tess you’re riding in Kyle’s car I assume, and Michael and Maria in the Jetta.” Everyone nodded, and headed out one by one, all hoping that everything would turn out ok.

*****

“So she passed?” Lonnie asked. Currently, Zan, Rath, and she were talking about what happened earlier. Liz was in the other room, sleeping before the big day tomorrow.

“With flying colors. But I have been sensing that she been uneasy about this whole leaving thing. I been tryna’ sugar her up, but she still havin’ her issues with this whole leaving thing. I think we gonna have to go through with just knockin’ her out, and takin’ her without ha knowin’.”

“How you know she ain’t already called back home, and they be on their ways here?” Rath questioned.

“Nah, she to pissed at the mans, all I feel is hurt, and anger bout’ that. I know she ain't called them. No, it’s alright, we gonna be fine, everythin’ gonna be good.” Zan said taking a seat on the couch.

“What about when they bring up the granolith?” Lonnie asked.

“She knows where it’s at. Like I said, if it comes to it, get Nicolas to get it outta her. She gonna do things whether she like it or not.” Zan stated strongly.

Liz closed the door slowly and quietly. She had been trapped. She started panicking, and she ran for her cell-phone.

“Come on, pick up, pick up.” Liz mumbled. Maria wasn’t picking up her cell-phone, so she did the only thing she could think of and called Max.

“Hello?” He answered on the first ring.

“Max…” Max tightened up at the sound of Liz’s voice.

“Liz, are you ok.” Max asked worriedly.

“Max, I’m in trouble.” She hated to admit it, she hated that she was wrong, but it was true, and she had no other choice.

“I’m on my way. Liz are you ok, what happened?” Liz could sense the panic in his voice, and she could feel the old feelings rushing back at her.

“I’m ok. I was worried about something, so I had to investigate it. They think I’m asleep right now, but I overheard them say that they need me to go with them, to your planet. Nicolas is still alive Max. They need the granolith, and they’re going to try and get in my head if things don’t go their way.”

“Liz, we’re going to be there soon. I need you to try to act like nothing is wrong until we get there. Can you do that?”

“I can do it.”

“Liz, I’m sorry I put you through this.” Liz closed her eyes, she hated that he was sincere, she hated that no matter how she much she tried, she couldn’t hate him at all.

“I put myself in this Max. Just hurry.” Liz said before she hung up.

She hated that she couldn’t even trust her own heart anymore.

Oh and Also I wanted to post this part fast, so it hasn't been betaed so sorry for any mistakes!!

Chapter 10

Liz awoke the next morning nervous as hell. The summit meeting was tonight, and she prayed to god that Max and the others arrived in time.

She was grateful for everything Max had been doing, but the fact of the matter is, that she dug herself in the hole, she couldn’t blame Max this time, because her own heart lead her in the wrong path, and now she had to deal with the consequences.

If they made it back home safe and sound, then things would start being different for Liz. Her heart proved her wrong each time, it told her to go after Max and he slept with Tess, she went after Zan and he just used her to get to where he wanted. From now on Liz would make her own decisions, what ever she wanted to do, even if her heart screamed out at her not to, she would still do it, she would think with her mind, since her heart didn’t seem to want to work anymore.

She sighed as she got out of her bed. When did things become so complicated for her? Why couldn’t they just go back to when things were good, when she and Max were just she and Max, and there was no destiny in their ways? She wished so much that she could go back, but they can’t and now she’s going to have to deal with things the way that they were. That’s all that could be done.

She walked to the door and clutched onto the doorknob, she had to pretend like everything was ok; she took in a deep breath. She could do it.

She pulled the door wide open and walked out. She found Lonnie and Rath asleep on the bed and Zan no where in sight. She clenched her eyebrows together in confusion, where could he have gone?

“Looking for me?” Liz jumped at the voice and turned around to find Zan. She clutched her heart.

“God Zan, you scared me,” She said a little shaken. Zan smiled.

“Sorry. I got some food, so if yous want you can freshen up and we can eat.” He said holding out a brown paper bag indicating where the food was. Liz forced out a fake smile.

“Thanks, I’ll just go to the bathroom.” When she started to walk away Zan grabbed her and once they touched Liz jumped as she got a flash.

“This isn’t over Max.” Zan stared at him with fury, his eyes all black. Lonnie and Rath were trapped in some sort of black orb and Zan was a few feet ahead of it with his hand out.

“Don’t worry, I’ll be waiting for you.” Max said reaching out his hand before blasting Zan into the portal, which then after disappeared.

“Yous ok?” Zan asked when he saw her jump. Liz stared at him in shock, what the hell was that? Did he send her that? Did he know something?

“Umm…I think I need some fresh air.” Liz said. She just needed to get away, and she needed to do it now.

“Ok, I’ll come with yous.” Zan said walking ahead of her.

“NO!” Liz half shouted. Zan looked back at her.

“I mean, no, please don’t bother, I don’t want to be a nuisance, plus I kind of just want to be alone just to freshen my head, and you’re kind of a distraction for me.” Liz said with a fake seductive smile. Inside she wanted to gag. How could she have actually slept with him?

Zan smirked. She did look good, maybe she would make his time more worth while in Antar. After all she wasn’t bad in bed.

“Aight sugar. But hurry back, I got surprises for you.” He smiled. Liz tried her hardest not to puke and nodded as she walked passed him. As she did he grabbed her and pulled her close to him. He kissed her hard, and pushed her against the table and grinded his hard member into her center.

Liz moaned and leaned into him. She didn’t know what was going on with her, she was being driven to him, she couldn’t stop, and it was like with Max when they discovered the orb, but 10 times worse, she just couldn’t stop. He had this control over her, and she knew that it was coming from him.

Zan lifted her legs over his waist and pushed her on top of the table. Liz wrapped her arms around him. She wanted to stop, but at the same time she wanted to pursue further.

Zan planted kisses down her neck making Liz moan even louder. Zan was about to rip apart her pants when the sound of Rath whistling broke the two apart.

Zan turned his head fast and in fury. He glared at Rath.

“Sorry duke, don’t stop on my watch, that shit was hotter than most fuckin’ porns.” Liz snapped out of her trance. She couldn’t believe what just happened. She needed to leave before it happened again. She hopped off the table and straightened her shirt.

“I’ll be back soon.” Liz said. Zan turned his head back to Liz.

“Nah, let’s just go in the bedroom.” He said his eyes burning a hole through her body. Liz tried her hardest to shake of her feelings.

“I really need some fresh air. It’s really hot, and I promise I’ll be back soon.” Liz said walking away from Zan. The farther away she was from him, the more the connection faded. Once she was out of their views she ran out of the sewers into the opening. Where was Max?

Rath smirked.

“Damn son, with that shit goin’ on, looks like you aint gonna have to force her to do nuttin’.” Rath said commenting about what he just witnessed.

“Shut the fuck up. You just fucked things up. My connection to her got stronger to her for some reason, I can posses her to do anything I want, it wasn’t like this before. I don’t know what changed in her. But I think yous right, she’s starting to trust us. But I’m afraid that her kingie back at home gonna have a problem with this.”

“Then we’ll take him. Plus after the meeting tonight, as long as he don show up, we good, cuz tonight we gon be sailing our ways back home.” Rath said smirking.

*****

Once Liz reached the outside she caught her breath. There was something wrong with her, her connection with Zan was stronger, and she didn’t know if he did something to her because he knew what she was up to.

And that flash she had earlier what the hell was that? Did he plant it into her mind? She was so confused, she needed to reach Max.

She pulled out her cell phone from her back pocket and dialed Max, but all she got was a beep. She had no reception.

“Damn it!” She cursed walking around trying to get reception. Once she found it she stopped and bumped into someone.

“Sorr…” Liz stopped in mid sentence as she jumped and received yet another flash.

“Just take my money!” It was the woman she bumped into and she was in an alley way held at gun point. She was getting mugged. She held out her purse which the guy took and then he shot her.

Liz snapped out of her thoughts and saw the woman in front of her. She was too speechless to talk.

“It’s ok honey!” She smiled sweetly at Liz before walking away. She was obviously in a rush.

“Oh my god.” Liz mumbled, before she ran after the woman. She was slowly loosing sight of the woman in the crowds of New Yorkers, but then she saw her strawberry blonde hair round a corner and she quickly followed.

She soon found herself in the alley way she saw in her vision. Liz looked around the alley trying to find the woman. Then she heard a scream. She ran in the direction of the scream and found the man holding a gun out to the woman.

“JUST TAKE MY MONEY!” She screamed at him almost in tears as she held out her purse, she was shaking with fear. The guy grabbed it from her and before he could pull the trigger Liz screamed out.

“HEY!” She screamed running in the direction of them. He looked up at her, and Liz didn’t know what possessed her but she held out her hand and the gun flew out of his hands. The guy looked up in shock and ran away.

Liz didn’t even have anytime to recuperate; she quickly rushed to the woman’s side.

“Are you ok?” She asked checking the woman for any damages.

“You saved my life.” The woman cried clutching onto Liz. Liz held onto her awkwardly, what the hell was going on? How could she possibly see the future? How could she possibly posses powers?

“Come on, let’s get out of here.” Liz said dragging the two of them out of the alley into the open. Once they reached the outside Liz let go of the woman.

“You should be ok now. Just don’t go walking into any alley ways.” She said giving the woman a weak smile. The woman looked at the young girl in front of her, she owed her her life.

“How can I ever repay you?” She asked. Liz smiled.

“Just don’t mention me when you go to the cops.” She said and the lady looked up at her and nodded. Liz smiled one last time before walking away. Once the woman was out of sight Liz sat down on a chair at a café to her right.

She was not only now lost, but now she had powers that she never had before. What the hell was wrong with her?

She grabbed her cell phone from her pocket and thanked god when she saw that she had reception. She quickly dialed Max and he picked up on the first ring.

“Liz?” Liz smiled.

“Yeah, it’s me.” She said.

“Are you ok? Is something the matter?” Max asked panicked. Liz felt her heart race when she felt his concern.

“Where are you guys?” She asked with the hint of sadness in her voice. She needed them right now. She hated feeling vulnerable, but she needed him more than ever now.

“We’re in Pennsylvania right now, traffic has been crazy, and we’re trying to get there as soon as we can Liz.” Liz sighed. They wouldn’t make it in time for the summit.

“Ok, just hurry.” Liz said. Max could hear the fear in her voice and he prayed that nothing was wrong with her; he would never forgive himself if something was.

“Are you ok Liz?”

“Just hurry Max.” Liz said before hanging up. She silently cried at herself for her stupidity. The past few months all that went through her mind was that she didn’t need Max, she could live without him. But at that moment at the very second, she knew that she would always need Max Evans, in a crisis or not, she just always needed Max Evans in her life.

“Where she at yo? It’s been like 2 hours she aint back yet. Somethin’ aint right.” Lonnie said panicking because the girl hadn’t shown up and the summit was only 2 hours away.

“Stop worryin’, she probably got lost, ima go look fa ha, don’t do some stupid shit while I’m gone.” He said walking out to find Liz.

Once he reached the outside he couldn’t find her so he walked around. He walked around for almost a half an hour until he could feel her close by. He turned to his left and found her sitting outside at a table at some café.

He practically ran towards her.

“Liz!” He screamed. Liz turned her head when she heard his voice. He found her.

“Where tha’ fuck you been?” He asked once he reached her side.

“I’ve been sitting here, I got lost, and I tried to find the place and I even asked someone but, they just looked at me like I’m stupid because they said there were so many subway stations around, and I didn’t know which one I needed to get to. So I just waited here hoping you would find me.” Liz lied.

Zan looked at her and he saw that she had 5 cups around her so she probably was telling the truth.

“Ight, come on. The meeting’s in an hour and half.” He said grabbing her arm taking her back to the sewer. Inside Liz was screaming for him to let go, and screaming out to Max to save her.

Max swerved the car and Isabel screamed out at him.

“Max what’s wrong with you!” She yelled.

Max stopped the car and clutched his head. It was Liz, she was screaming out to him, he knew it, he couldn’t explain it but, she was calling for him.

“MAX!” Isabel screamed when she saw him in distress.

“Oh my god, Alex go get Tess and Michael!” Isabel said to Alex who was in the back. He ran out to get the others.

“Max! Max! Are you ok? What happened?” Isabel asked panicking. Max snapped out of it and caught his breath. He was breathing heavy and he couldn’t believe what just happened.

“I…think that…Liz just…reached out me,” He said through deep breaths.

“What?” Isabel asked.

“How’s that possible?” She continued.

“I don’t know! But she needs us!” Max said the aftereffects of everything still ringing through his head.

“What happened?” Tess asked rushing to Max’s side. It wasn’t romantic or anything, in fact Tess’s feelings for Max had been non-existent lately, most of her attention went to Kyle.

“It’s Liz, she’s trying to reach out to him, he thinks something’s wrong.” Isabel explained.

“But how is that possible?” Tess asked.

“Well enough with the damn questions, if Maxwell’s right, we shouldn’t be waiting here just pondering, we should be getting our asses straight there.” Michael said thinking rationally.

“Michael’s right. We need to keep going.” Max said.

“Do you want me to drive Max?” Isabel asked as Tess and Michael ran back to their cars.

“No, I’m fine.” Max said shifting his car back to gear and rushing off in the direction of NYC.

“Where the hell you been?” Lonnie questioned Liz once she returned with Zan.

“Back off Lon, she got lost aight.” Zan said in Liz’s defense. If Liz was to trust them, it would have to be now since the meeting was only a little while away. He didn’t need Lonnie screwing shit up for them and bitchin’ out the girl, scaring her off.

Lonnie was about to protest, but Zan cut her off with a glare. She stayed quiet and slumped back down on the sofa. Liz watched the exchange warily.

“I’m going to go get changed.” Liz said walking in the direction of her room. She walked away from the siblings and Rath and walked into the room.

Once she entered she realized how different the room was from everything else in the sewer, and she found herself beginning to question it as well. The room was nice and neat, and it had a bathroom connected to it. If she was right about what she thought, that would mean that Zan had created it with his powers, and if managed to do so, then he was more powerful than she thought.

Liz was brought out of her thoughts with Zan coming into the room. She was facing the bed with her back towards him and when she felt him come in she turned her head to face him. He looked at her with desire. He walked up behind her and he was so close that she could feel his breath on her. She instantly burned up with heat. She closed her eyes and the close contact between the two of them.

“Sorry bout’ Lonnie, she don’ trust easily.” Zan said whispering to her as he blew out hot breaths against her neck, which he knew drove her crazy. He was here to make sure Liz didn’t change her mind at Lonnie’s outburst; he was here to make sure Liz would come to that meeting.

Liz didn’t answer, she just kept her eyes closed, she tried to push her feelings aside, but his pull was too strong. Zan watched and felt the attraction and desire from her and he smiled. He turned her around and pulled her close to him.

He took her lips into his with an instant and she fell under his spell again. She wrapped her arms around his neck and he pushed her down against the bed.

The things he was doing to her drove her insane, the way he touched her, his kisses, her head was spinning. She didn’t understand any of it, but she didn’t want him to stop.

He grinded his member into her core and she moaned into his mouth. She had fell to far in, there was no one there to distract them, there was no stopping them, Liz knew it was going to happen, and nothing could stop it.

“Max are you ok?” Isabel asked, she saw Max tense up and she knew something was immediately wrong.

“I can’t feel her anymore Iz.” Max admitted. Isabel looked at him confused.

“I don’t understand.”

“I don’t feel her Iz. Before I felt her, she was ringing through my entire body; I could even feel it in my toes. But there’s nothing now, something’s not right Iz. It’s like she doesn’t even belong to me. I mean I know she doesn’t but, god I can’t explain it. Something’s off Iz. Something’s off.”

“Well we’re almost there Max.”

“It’s too late Iz, they’re probably on their way to the meeting right now.” Max sighed, he prayed he hadn’t failed.

“No Max, don’t say that. Don’t even think it I know you’re thinking it but you didn’t fail, not yet. Max from the way I see it you did nothing but succeed, Max the passion and love you have for Liz, that I can’t explain it but I’m jealous. I know that something happened between the two of you but how you’re acting right now, and how motivated you are, you don’t know how proud I am of you. I know lately I’ve been acting like a bitch, and Michael and I have been giving you shit, but it’s just I’ve had to deal with so much lately and I don’t know it seemed right to take it out on you because you’re our leader. I’m sorry Max, I shouldn’t have done it, and you probably have even more shit because you are the leader. But I want to know Max that I think you’re doing a damn good job.”

Max looked over at Isabel graciously.

“I hope you’re right Iz. I really do.”

“Just let me do the talking. Ya’ll shut up and stay quiet. Ya got it.” Zan said to Lonnie and Rath. They were currently in the building where the meeting was to take place, and he was giving Lonnie and Rath the low down.

They both nodded. He then turned to Liz.

“It’s gon’ be aight.” He said smiling at her. Liz looked up at his nervous. She couldn’t say anything, she just stood there. He grabbed her hand and kissed her on the lips. Together the four of them walked into the meeting together.
