With her chin rested on her hands ,Tess stared out the window waiting. It was
christmas and cold but there was no snow. It was all Tess wanted for Christmas was to
see her very first snow. Growing up and living with Nascedo she had never seen snow ,
Nascedo hated the cold and he hated snow even more.From the little radio resting on
the table a blues singer crooned a beautiful christmas carol, making Tess both happy
and sad at the same time.

Tess sighed and continued looking out the window as the sherriff just home from
work sat down beside her.
“whats got you so sad Tess?” she sighed again
“there’s no snow, it does snow here in Roswell right?”
“yeah...maybe if you wish real hard ,santa will bring you some snow” he suggested as
he smiled at her.
“i have to go for a shower ...and i’ll cook dinner when i get out , Kyle should be home
by then ok?” Tess just nodded and continued to stare out the window .

*bang*
the door flew open and Kyle walked in, again banging the door as he closed it behind
him. Dropping his bag on the floor beside the table and headed to the fridge
“Is dad home from work yet” he yelled
“yeah he’s taking a shower” she called back.
“hey Kyle what do you think the odds are it’ll snow?” she asked softly, he shrugged.
“its cold outside so maybe...why?”
“no reason just thought it would be cool” she lyed not wanting Kyle to think her weird
for never seeing the snow before.
“yeah it is! it’s all cold and you can throw snow balls” Kyle laughs feeling like an idiot,
at exposing his love for snow to Tess.
“but you know i mean you’ve been all over the world and seen so much , snow isn’t
that great....”
“no ..”Tess said a sad look coming over her face.
“oh” said Kyle, looking out the window ,why couldn’t he just talk to Tess , why did
she make him feel so giddy that he messed things
“i better go and do those evil papers i have to write ,do them while i remember so i
dont get a bad mark ..what do we need english for anyway” he joked but it fell flat.
“you know what ,can you tell the sherriff when he gets out im not hungry and im going
to go to bed ,im tired” with one last look to the outside Tess headed to bed.

Played from the cd player in Tess’s room. Closing the door behind her ,she sighed
“i am dreaming of a white christmas”she said sadly. Pulling back the covers of her bed
,she laid down and closed her eyes and asked to the same person for the same things
she asked for every year since she found out what christmas , snow and family were.
“Santa? i know your heaps busy , like you are every year and i know you already gave
me the best part of christmas what i wanted a family the sheriff is an amazing dad and
ok so im not so much have brother feelings for Kyle as boyfriend feelings....anyway i
know i should be happy and iam! but i need to ask you for one more thing .....could
you make it snow this year please , it would mean so much to me! anyway i hope your
ok and give my love to the reindeer ,goodnight Santa”
Outside the door ,Jim pulled his ear away from the door with a smile ,she thought he
was an amazing dad , well she was an amazing daughter. He was going to have to keep
an eye on her and Kyle though, he could see the looks his son gave to Tess and knew
one day she would be his daughter-in-law but not until they were older if he had
anything to say about it. Heading into the kitchen ,he began to cook some hot dogs for
himself and Kyle. Sat down at the table, Kyle waited for his hot dogs and thought
about Tess.
“hey dad ,do you know whats wrong with Tess?” he asked looking at Jim.
“hmm yeah she wants something only god can give her....a white christmas”
“ohh..so thats what was with the snow question before” realsing Kyle ,while jim just
nodded.
A smile popped up on Jim’s face as he thought of what Tess had said before.
“She thinks im an Amazing Dad..Tess does i mean” Jim said to kyle
“and yet were stuck eating hot dogs *taking a bite of his hot dog* careful dad your
head gets any bigger and it wont be able to fit out the door”
“dont talk with your mouth full , Kyle” scolded the sheriff.finishing his hot dog he got
up was about to walk out of the kitchen and head for bed when Kyle called out to him.
“you are an amazing dad, dad “ said Kyle, on his 4th hot dog.

Asleep Kyle and Tess both pulled their doonas closer ,it was so cold.
Jim rushed out of his room and into the loungeroom ,fully dressed with snow boots on,
while they had been asleep ,it had begun to snow. Tess’s wish had come true.
“Kyle , Kyle wake up and get dressed”Jim said waking his son from his heavy sleep.
“wha..dad you can’t be serious? ,the sun isn’t even up yet!” Kyle sat up confused and
not amused to be woken so early , he never really was a morning person.
“I know, but it’s snowing kyle so get up!, im going to get Tess” at the sound of Tess’s
name Kyle jumped up off the couch and began to put his pants , jumper and shoes on.
Jim softly walked into Tess’s room and sat down beside her.
“Tess..Tess, wake up..”Tess rolled over and stared sleepily at Jim and then at her alarm
clock.
“but it’s only 5am” she said croakily ,not a morning persong either.
“...it’s snowing”a wide smile placed across jim’s face and a look of disbelieve across
Tess’s.
“Really?”she whispered ,her eyes as wide as saucers.Jim nodded once and left the
room.
“you better hurry Tess , if you want to see it fall”
Tess began rushing around her room searching for and putting on her warmest clothes,
She flew out of her room and down the hall to where Kyle and Jim were waiting for
her.
“ready!” Jim and Kyle had never seen such a wide smile on Tess or any other person
come to think of it. Jim opened the door and lead them into the snow.
“oh my god...it’s soo wow!”Tess whispered out into the cold , looking around her in
amazement.
Stepping over to Tess , Kyle took her hand and smiled at her , a smile which she
returned with a blush.
“it is pretty amazing”said Kyle into Tess’s ear but he wasn’t talking about the snow.
“right now we’ve seen the snow im going inside , my old bones cant take the cold like
they used too”he laughed and rolled his eyes at the teenagers infront of him, as the
threw puppy eyes at each other all loving and sweet....he really needed to talk to Amy
about going out again he thought to himself and headed inside.
Kyle looked over at Tess who was gazing at the snow again.
“do you want to go for a walk?”he asked shyly.
“yeah” Tess said tugging on his hand as they began to walk.
“look it’s everywhere” she was bouncing up and down in excitement.Kyle laughed at
her excitement , although he to was pretty happy to be in the snow himself. They
walked over to the park that was near the house ,it was covered in a blanket of snow.
Taking a seat on a bench they came across, they sat side by side, still holding hands.
Tess looked up at the sky and watched as the tiny snow flakes danced through the sky
till the hit the ground and became one with all the other little snow flakes. Staring
upwards left her nose open to the little snow flakes that she had been staring at to
dance their way to land there.
“eep Kyle it’s cold” Tess giggled gesturing to her nose. reaching over Kyle placed a
tiny kiss to her nose ,his lips hot , melting the snow flake
“better?” Kyle murmered eyes closed, his lips still hovering just above her nose, little
pants of breath warming Tess’s whole face as Kyle breathed.Closing her eyes too, She
angled her lips to meet his.
Sitting on a bench in the park ,snow falling all around them on christmas morning Kyle
and Tess shared their first kiss.
thank you santa thought Tess to herself.
Way up above their heads, flying amongst the clouds in a slay of red as it was being
pulled along by it’s reindeer Santa let out a jolly laugh and said
“your very welcome Tess, very welcome”
