chapter 1

Another day another well another day. Who knew that this was the big scary world they were preparing us for. The only thing scary about my world is that I work with my boss ‘Mr. coffee breath who has more feminine then me’ and I take public transport. My days cloud over each other. My high point of my week is Mondays! Yeah you heard me Mondays.

People hate Mondays I mean there are even songs about it. But I love Mondays they are my day off. The day I sleep in read a book do my laundry. Don’t get me wrong I have friends I like to go out. We have a good time but having fun equals money and it’s just something I don’t have. Also picking up guys at a bar is just not my thing.

Im 21 yrs old I live in a crappy little flat I like to call home. After I graduated high school I went to become a makeup artist and work in the movies. Well yes I am a make up artist and beautician but instead I wax people bikini lines instead of doing body paint on some hot new actors…..
Sorry to be such a downer I just in a period where everything seems wrong like I’m stuck!

And boys grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr honey don’t get me started on men
I hope something changes soon what happened to me? It’s not all bad I save a lot of money on crappy gossip mags cause when you’re ripping of hair people talk about the dirtiest things.

Walking to work I know that one of these days prince charming well run into me and sweep me off my feet. At that exact thought I bump into ‘Mr cute in a suit’

chapter 2

Another day another dollar after a long day of manicures and waxing- trust me its exhausting. I’m walking home from my bus stop when guys beep there horn at me yelling me to shake it! Man I need a car? Maybe I should finally take that test????
A home sweet home well after a flight of stairs damn it. Never take the lifts they are always breaking!!!!

“Michael Brendan Guerin if you don’t move your ass soon and get that couch upstairs it’s gonna be your new bed!!!!!”
Sounds like my new neighbors are moving in
“Maria I’m waiting for Maxwell”
I hear the shouting and I’m confronted with a large cute guy with ripped jeans and long hair and an enormous ugly couch blocking the stairwell. I hear more yelling form the chic upstairs its all in Spanish

“Maria I don’t understand you so what the point in yellin……………ah hi”
Ok been spotted
“Um hi she said something about men not doing anything right and why is she living with the tramp anyways?”
oppps good one parker open your mouth he looks confused and know he is smiling
“Yeah thanks trust her I’m Michael 2E sorry bout this”

And with that the couch started to move and a new voice joined in
“Bout time Max trust you to move when I just started talking to a hot chick!!!”
I blush I know he is messing around by his smile and I have known him for what 2 seconds I can tell he is a joker. I’m still annoyingly shy when I first meet people.

“Yeah right Mickey I’m sure your girlfriend loves that”
And a voice that voice I want to hear say my name. Ok I’m a lil dramatic you will get over that. But I can’t see him but that voice form the top of the stairs
“You’re talking to some girl when you’re supposed to be moving this couch I swear Michael your going to loose your balls”
Wow I wish I knew how to talk to someone like that all demanding. Maybe I would get a pay rise or promotion maybe a life?
“Maria its not some chick it’s our neighbor”
I’m thinking this is normal this yelling between them I don’t know them but it seems natural. Well as natural as I can tell from just a voice upstairs. Soon I get a face to the yelling.

“Jesus Maria what the hell”
And there comes this small women all fiery eyes and long blonde curly hair. She is wearing a tiny denim mini and a top that says “what”. Already I admire this girl her personality comes of her in waves her voice demanding. A free girl, who is jumping over the stuck couch and introducing herself,
“Hi Maria Deluca please excuse my sorry excuse for a boyfriend and his brother”
“Liz Parker its ok um when are you going to get this couch moved?”
Why did she make me feel inadequate and welcomed at the same time?
“You heard the lady chop chop”

15 minutes later I’m at the top of the stairs with Maria chatting all the way I have been invited to some show she has at the coffee house. A singer of course and I booked her in to get her nails done tomorrow morning.
I don’t see the brother just Michael’s backside trying to adjust the ugly couch- not that I’m complaining. Oh well I rush to my apartment to get out of doing any moving I like them but not enough to do any unpacking.
As I close my door I hear the voice again

“Was she hot?”
“Keep it in your pants Maxwell”
“Come on Mickey tell your baby bro about the girl?”
“Beautiful brown hair brown eyes nice girl so be nice!”
ohhh he called me beautiful? Ahh Michael why are the nice ones always taken?
“Ha really maybe I should go over and ask for some sugar?”
ohhhhh this brother Maxwell has a voice that would melt....well me

CHAPTER 3

After making a small dinner and crashing out in front of the TV. I started to hear yelling outside my door they’re interrupting my DVD Buffy marathon. Grrrrrrrrrrrr
“Max we are meant to be together”
Ok I love Buffy but I have seen it a zillion times and well I like this door entertainment.
“Will you keep your voice down
mmmmmmmmmmm that voice what is it about this guy?
“I just want you you moved into the place with me and Michael and Maria and I thought…..
ohhh girl slow it down your loosing him
“You thought what??? Listen we are friends we tried Tess but you and me are better as friends”

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes everyone Liz parker is sitting with her back to the door in her stripy pjs listen to her neighbors. It’s the dream I always had of my life.
“But MAXXXXXXX I want us to be more…..”
And I can feel the shift in air the tone in her voice change and his breath coming faster. What is happening out there damn I need a visual stat.
Then there is a thump on my door and no ones knocking. Its then I realize that it’s the mysterious Max body against mine um I mean my door, his body against my door. I see his feet shadowed in my apartment I stand and press myself against the door. I don’t know why I just felt compelled to do it. Be closer to this Max brother of Michael ex of Tess.

Then I feel like an idiot. I shook myself out of it and put my focus on yummy Xander and Angel mmmmmmmmmmm. I was enjoying my buffyfest not listening to Max say ‘no it’s over’ or slamming the door! Nup just more of sunnydale. I love denial it’s warm and cozy here.

I wake up to the lil DVD symbol bopping on my TV. Its 5.25 am and I feel asleep on the couch again. I go to my bedroom throw on some sweats not my hair on top of my head and get ready for a run.
I start my usual jog- usual being if I can be bothered and if I wake up. I’m halfway through my run when I collide with a mass of blonde curls
“Hey girl/watch where your going bitch”
Ok confused I look up to two perfect little blonde girls with curly hair one happens to be Maria the new neighbor

“Tess this is 2A Liz right we still on for today? Cant wait to get my nails done…oh and this is my cousin Tess she
“I live with Max and of course Maria and Michael”
Ok someone’s saline from there plastic boobs has got into there bloodstream and into her brain. It’s an instant dislike for Tess.
“No Tessa cousin of mine you are crashing to you find your own place. It’s just me and Michael and well Max rented out the room Mickey won’t be using”
I’m just looking back and forth to much for my brain to understand without its daily intake of caffinee
“Oh Tess screw this run I need a coffee”
“Me to”
ahh she mentioned the magic words. Coffee my life.
“Dammit we have none I really need to do a shop. We can go to a café if you want?”
Do I want this girl is bright bubbly and rolls her eyes Tess as she runs off.
“Um I have some at my place plus I didn’t bring any cash with me”
Bloody annoying ‘ums’ they always pop up. She smiles and we walk back to my place.

Inside we talk about how her and Michael are not your conventional high school sweethearts but none the less are. That her and Max have been friends forever. I talk about my best friend Alex how he is away in London doing some fancy computer stuff and I have my friends from high school which I occasionally still hang out with.
I don’t know if it was the caffeine fill to my body or the warm company I was happy this morning and it was 8.17 shit I missed my bus
“What time do you start?”
Did I say that out loud?
“Um 9.30 but my bus takes forever”
“Stress less chica I have my appointment so let’s disengage get dressed and I will drive you in”
“Thanks Maria”
“No problem girl just knock on my door when you’re done!”
I’m dressed in my beautiful black pants and navy shirt they make us wear and knocking on 2e I wonder if Max is here. A shirtless Michael answers and he smiles at me lets me in
“Morning Liz wants some coffee”
I must have moaned or something
“ohhh settle girl and all I did was offer you coffee man you sound like Maxwell”
Blush blush blush ok stop blushing even though it’s harder when Michael is standing there shirtless offering me my coffee- one for the fantasy files.

“Maria just got out of the shower and oh SHIT… oh sorry Liz its Just Max left early and he forgot this”
dammit missed Max but two silver stars seeing shirtless Michael
“Ok I’m ready”
And out pops Maria in a yellow and red dress with matching headband man is the girl always this cheery?
“And Maxies work is right near Lizzys salon so I will drop of his file thingy”
And a problem solver this chick is amazing
“Thanks baby you know how important Max is work is and how much of a jerk he can be see ya later Liz”
He smiles and he is a genuine nice guy! A guy who is hot and nice is a wonder in today’s society. I wonder if his brother is the same.
I turn when they embrace; I wish I was in love…….





Ohhh will Max and Liz meet? will the crazy Tessa get in the way? Will Liz fall in love? Next time on this is where you live……..

chapter 4


Ok news flash everyone I’m in love
Settle down I’m talking in love with Maria Deluca.
It’s been two days since we ran into each other. We have hung out every second. Tess ignores me every chance she gets and Michael is such a honey. He is a painter and well beautiful the man never wears a shirt…..relax I never eat of another woman’s plate I just enjoy the view and like I could she and Michael are so in love, it’s sickening sometimes……

There has only ever been one man in my life. We dated on and off for about 4 and half years. I know it’s been a long time. We met in high school he was my first kiss, man my only kiss. It ended badly we were constantly breaking up getting back together. I really don’t do the party pashing thing I have flirted with guys been on a couple of bad dates but nothing else…….

Ok fast forward and let you know I still haven’t met Max!
I have seen a photograph and yummmers. He is busy with his new job and what Maria tells me avoiding Tess. So here the scope Maria started dating Michael when she was 15 and he was 17. There relationship was temperamental so Max; Michael’s best friend was a mediator of sorts. Max becomes Maria’s ‘girlfriend’ through her relationship. Max never had many girls he was to busy playing doctor. No I’m being serious….. He was actually studying to be a doctor. He now works as an intern and down at the regency hospital.

And well Tess she was his fling. Max isn’t exactly shy but just studious. Maria tells me that during high school he got lonely around his senior year with prom and graduation he wanted to share it with someone. Tessa was that someone she has been sniffing around his crouch since she was 12.-Maria words not mine. Ok so im all over the place so lets bring you to now….

It’s now Friday night Maria’s performance she is stressing and I’m helping her pick something to wear.
“I just…… do I want slutty sexy or sultry? Oh oh oh should I go with casual? You know plain t shirt and jeans? Colours? Yes NO all black no no all white virginal AND….
“Maria calm down ok let’s see. What’s this place like tonight?”
“It’s a place a coffee house sorta but its also kind of a bar? Like a 24 hour coffee place that serves alcohol”
She is stressing in the corner in her underwear. Throwing clothes about like a mad woman, it’s like we have known each other since we were little.
“Ok ok settle down um are you sitting standing?”
“Well I sit for two songs...”
“Good ok that means pants ok get rid of skirts and bring on the pants!”

Half an hour later she emerged black leather pants green halter top and deadly stiletto heels. Me I just have my fav jeans on and a brown strapless top with little butterfly broach in the corner to dress it up!
I’m exited to hear Maria sing but also Max will be here tonight… finally I will meet him maybe I should have shown some cleavage?????
“ahhh two beautiful Ladies as my escort”
Ah the dashing Michael he takes Maria’s arm like a gentleman then asks for mine on the other side. I giggle I love theses guys…..


Ok sorry no Max yet!!!!!!!!! Had to set some background but in the next chapter I promise cross my heart……

chanpter 5

Maria was great Michael and I joked around and stayed for all her sets. It was an all nighter place. She had 4, 20 minute sets till 3 in the morning. It was great we were dancing sinning drinking. Max never showed up he had been working a lot and needed the rest.
I’m never going to meet Max.
So after leaving we sat at MacDonald’s for ever stuffing our faces. Greasy food after drinking and dancing is a rule. It was nearing 5 am and the sun was rising as we were leaving it was beautiful. I don’t think I have had so much fun in my life.

We walk up stairs and Michael said that magic words
“Come in for a coffee?’
why the hell not it’s a new day and thank the heavens cause there is Max Evans in all his sleepy only dressed in boxers with bed hair sexy goodness.

Max and I moan at Maria’s words. I look over and he is staring at me and bring on the blush!
I’m staring at Max the ever elusive Max and I realize that the man is delicious but I have seen him somewhere before????????

And he is grinning at me cocky little bastard isn’t he OMG now I know!!!!! and when did Tess get here? and was I just caught checking him out? but I remember man he has a sexy smile.

He just looks at me strange Tess leaves the room in a huff and Michael listens discreetly with his back to us making toast. Maria the girl she is just sits down in front of us watching us with no reservations.

And man this guy never gives up I just casually smile at Maria who is looking with wide eyes and sip my coffee
“Well it was the other day…….ummmm lets see oh yes that’s right you ran into me then called me a bitch?

At that exact moment Maria gasped Michael whispered Maxwell and the toast popped. I just sipped my coffee mmmm I love to shock.
“I I I “
Wow gone is the suave flirty man. But I got a say the melting voice neighbor turned into Mr. cute in a suit ok now I’m living in a soapy!!!!
“Relax I did call you an asshole back! You ran into me Wednesday I think? I said sorry you grumbled and called me a bitch”
He is still sitting with his mouth open
“Um it’s ok”
I think he feels bad and now I feel bad well this didn’t turn out all fun!

“Max you called her a bitch she is tiny and you ran into her and ….can I hear baby got back?”
Huh? What the hell is Michael talking about? Talk about change of subject
“Baby I can hear it too- dum dum dum dum turn around stick it out even white boys got to shout…”
Ok I officially love Maria and Michael (have I said that before) and Max has a small smile on his face. I then feel all my blood rush to my face when Max mouths sorry to me. Oh those lips and his eyes he means it.

Oh shit that’s my phone I was so lost in Max’s eyes …… shit where is it? I stop Michael and Maria’s dance and dump my bag on the table. My mobile is ringing and that ring tone is only for one person so when I flip it open I scream

“ALEX BABY”

Everyone looks at me shocked I don’t think they have seen me this loud and happy no time to be embarrassed
“Lizzy how’s my girl?
“ohhhhhhh im great how are you?”
I look Michaels still dancing to the song in his head and Maria’s looking at me and laughing at him Max looks confused and has a half smile.
“Just curious on what you’re wearing”
“ALEX I I well what are you wearing??”
And Maria squeaks max losses his half smile and Michael’s grinning like a maniac
“Why don’t you check I’m outside your door?”

I just stand there with my mouth open and I can’t move
“I think she forgot we were here did he say something dirty???? Ohhh phone sex”
“Michael stop being an ass”
I start to tear up my only true friend just outside then what the hell I’m I doing here. I dash out the door and there is My Alex in all his glory. He turns sees me and I latch on to him....





ohhhhhhh nekkid Max well sorta. Alex is back, Micheal and Maria danicing what more do you want...........Max and Liz to get together i dont know if thats gonna be easy?????????

I ran straight into my best friend in the whole entire world and end up crashing to the floor. Squealing and crying out each others names

“So I’m guessing that is Alex”

I here a smart ass comment from Michael in the house and there stands Maria smacking a grinning Michael and Max well looks just as delicious as ever!

After an awkward silence and me still on top of Alex in the middle of the hallway I think it was time to go inside, after mumbled introductions and a promise to see Maria perform again tonight of course.


So here’s the low down Alex flew in last night and he is leaving Monday morning early!!! Like 2am. So after we chat for an hour we both nap and have a beautiful Saturday stroll. That works around me spitting out coffee and Alex dancing like a crazy person. We shop we eat we talk and I feel I’m 16 again. I love Alex…

“So who was the guy in his boxers giving me the glare down this morning?”
“Oh um that was um Max he is um Maria s friend and Michel’s brother he is um renting a room out while he does some…”
I can t finish my babble athon when Alex starts singing
“ohhhhh Max and Lizzy sitting in a tree”


Soon the laughter stops a little as we head up to the apartment stairs! Damn elevator
“Umm Liz I have to tell you something?”
“Ok Alex you have a face what’s that face”
“Im getting married”
“What who when”
I just hug nmy best friend in the whole world and I just know who it is I can hear her in the hall.

We walk up and there is Isabel in all her glory and great Max Maria Michael and Tess what is this a party? Fabulous!!!!! Alex walks past me to kiss his well fiancé….
Don’t get me wrong I love Alex like brother and I’m glad he is happy and Isabel’s ok its just what comes with Isabel-her brother my ex

“Liz it’s good to see you”
Isabel is just as beautiful as ever I hug her I don’t have a problem with her. Buit the my new neighbors/friends are watching me weirdly…..
“You too”
Everyone is smiling till Isabel and Alex’s eyes look behind me and smiles fall. Michael Maria Max and Tess are watching like a performance because right behind me…

“Um sooo wow is that time??? Max you need to go to eggs and Michael your works are burning”

I stopped looking into the eyes of the ex when Maria said Max and at that odd sentence I realized I could care less about Kyle. Or what he thought because all I saw was Max smiling and gah him walking away what an ass AHEM sorry

After a shuffle and Alex saying that they are going back to the hotel and Kyle trying desperately to catch my eye, I wondered back to when I thought my life was

Boring…..amazing how one event can change everything?

Ok so lets get up to speed my bestest best is Marrying his sweetheart that gets a gold star dinner with the ex and said happy couple big red NO!!!! So this is why I’m stressing plus I’m only having snippets of time with my future fantasy honey!

Which brings me to another drama in my oh not so boring life -My hair is spastic! It won’t be curly or straight. It’s like a big fluffy cat living on my head.

I thought I could babble. Then Max steps out ahhhhhh
“Don’t mind nosy Maria and her ability to talk without breathing. We were kind of worried about you”
Max was worried about me and he is nervous scratching his head like that ohhhhh to cute
“Ok well…
“MICHEAL GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE LIZZYS GONNA EXPLAIN”
Interrupted by Maria’s yell and a running Michael smiling at me these peps are weird!!! I love em

“Ok Alex has been my best friend since we were babies’ just friends! Isabel is his girlfriend they broke up when he went to London but obviously changed there minds. Then Kyle we dated on and off through high school there is some history there. Alex just sprung it on me that he is engaged and last time I left Kyle and I didn’t end on good terms. But tonight we are going to dinner together”
I wasn’t interrupted except the occasional ohhh and ahhh!
“So you are wearing that hat?”
That’s what she picks up on.

After half an hour doing my hair and girl talk I felt a little better a little less stressed. Suddenly Maria jumps up and gets all excited leaves me alone. What is that girl up too?
I don’t have time I just walk out and say goodbye that I’m running late.
“Have fun Lizzie”
I hear screamed through the small apartment weird….
