1. Leaving a broken hearth behind.

She looked outside the window of the plain. She had just left Roswell behind. A month ago she had gotten her acceptance letter to Los Angeles University. At first she wasn’t going to go but then two weeks ago something happened that made her change her mind. Two weeks ago she walked down the stairs from the apartment to the crashdown and there in the break room she saw what made her mind up. Max and Maria where making out on the couch. She knew that they didn’t see her and she didn’t say anything, she was to shocked and ran back upstairs. That night Max came to her balcony and started telling her that he loved her and that if she just forgot about the thing with Tess that they would be happy together. That’s when she looked at him and asked him if making out with Maria was his way of winning her back. He hadn’t said anything after that, he just stared at the floor and then she made him leave. The next day Maria had been al over Michael. Surprisingly Michael had noticed that something was wrong with Liz. Maria’s shift ended before his and after his shift he walked up to her. He had asked her what was wrong but she wouldn’t talk about it, the minute he touched her arm he had a flash of what she had seen. He had asked her if it was true and she had just nodded. He had pulled her in his arms then and let her cry. Michael and Kyle where the only two she had told about going to L.A. And that’s where she was going now.
The flight had been extremely uncomfortable the guy next to her had been snoring loudly the headphone’s for the movie where broke, the flight had been full with turbulence and to top it of the stewardess had dropped her orange juice into her lap. She got of the plane and gathered her luggage before walking over to the bathroom. She quickly pulled a dress out of the suitcase and changed out of her skirt and blouse. She walked back out and took a cab.
She arrived at the university and went to see in witch dorm she would be. As soon as she dropped of her stuff in her new room she went to find a payphone. She first called her parents and then Michael to tell them she got there save. Michael told her that Maria and Max had come in demanding to know where she was.
Liz hung up the phone and walked towards a small restaurant that laid near the campus. The restaurant was small but cosy and they where hiring. So Liz applied for a job as a waitress. She had a full scholarship but she wanted some extra spending money. They told her that she could start the following Monday and that she should bring in her schedule so that they could work out her hours.
She got back to her room and started to unpack. She had gotten a single room and it was on the top floor of her dorm house. As she was unpacking she remembered a conversation she had with Kyle. He had told her that under no circumstances she was allowed to join a sorority. He told her that those sorority’s where going to bring her down. She had replied to him that what she did in college was her business and nobody else his business. She wasn’t really planning on going to join any sorority’s but she didn’t let Kyle know that. Michael was worried sick about her and had told her that as his sister it was her duty to call him at least ones a week. Kyle was lost for words when Michael had called her his sister. Michael had been great these last two weeks he had cut Maria and Max out of his live to take care of her emotions. He had listened to her when she told him about future Max and he had encourage her to tell Kyle the truth and so she did. Kyle had been in shock as he heard what Liz had done. From that moment on Michael and Kyle where overprotective of her. The moment Max or Maria came near her one of them was near her. Isabel had just sided with Max, she looked at the three of them as if they where dirt.
Before she had left Roswell Michael and Kyle had joined her at Alex his grave. The two understood that she needed to say goodbye to Alex . They had stood behind her as she had placed the flowers she had brought on his grave as she stood back up they had placed a hand on her shoulders. She had turned around and pulled them both in a hug.

2. College.

A year had past and Liz spotted a girl who looked lost.
“Hi, I’m Liz. Do you need some help?”
“Yes, hi, I’m Lerinha. But everybody calls me Rena.”
“So are you lost?”
“Yes I need to find room 23”
“Well, I have to be there also, so I’ll walk you.”
“Thank you.”
Ever since the moment that they met the two started hanging out. Rena had been telling Liz about her brother and how he was the only one she had left of her family.
In exchange Liz had told her about Kyle and Michael and her parents.
Rena had started to work as a barkeeper in the restaurant that Liz worked.
It was a rainy night when Michael came to visited her. He told her that after a year Isabel had finally come to ask him what happened. And that Isabel was sorry for the way she had threatened Liz, Kyle and himself. Michael was filling her in on what was happening in Roswell when Rena knocked on her door.
“Hi Lizzy, wow, who’s the guy?”
“Rena meet my big brother Michael. Michael meet Lerinha.”
“What’s up?”
“Hi.”
“Anyway, Kyle and Isabel started dating and I have to go.”
“Freeze Michael.”
“Shit.”
“Rewind Kyle and Isabel are what?”
“There dating, so I would appreciate it if you wouldn’t yell at me about it and if you're going to yell call Kyle and yell to him.”
“When I come home for Christmas we are going to have a little conversation about filling in YOUR sister.”
“Yes ma’am, can I go now?”
“Go.”
“Gone.”
As soon as Michael was out of the door Rena turned to Liz.
“He’s cute.”
“So want to come to Roswell for Christmas?”
“Mind if I bring my brother?”
“Not at all.”
“Great.”

Two weeks before Christmas break.

Liz was waiting in the hall of her dorm building on Rena. Rena’s brother was sending a car and would meet them on the airport. He was taking the two of them away for a weekend. Rena came down as the taxi arrived.
“Let’s go Lizzie, I can’t wait for you to meet my brother.”
“What’s he like Rena?”
“He’s different from other male that’s for sure. But I’ll guess you’ll have to wait till you see him to know.”
The two got in the cab and left for the airport.
Once they got there Rena guided the two of them to a terminal where her brother’s private jet would be.
They got on board and the door shut behind them.
“My brother fly’s this himself, but as soon as we’re in the air he’ll put it on autopilot and then you can meet him.”
“He fly’s it himself?”
“Yup.”
“Cool.”
“I know.”
Fifteen minutes later the door of the cockpit opened and a tall handsome man came out followed by a kid.
“Khivar, I would like you to meet Liz Parker. Lizzie, meet my brother Khivar.”
Liz palled and sank away as Khivar offers her a hand.
“Lizzie? What’s wrong?”
Liz didn’t say anything she kept staring at Khivar in fear.
“Maybe I can tell you what’s wrong my lord. Liz here is the girlfriend of Zan.”
“Nobody asked you anything Nicholas, and if I where you I would keep my big trap shut for all the shit you caused down here.”
“Yes my lord.”
Nicholas said as he coward away from Khivar.
Khivar looked at the girl that was still frightened. The moment he had laid his eyes on her he felt the power that she had inside of her. He hated the fact that he was scared of him. She should fear nobody.
He sat down in one of the couches and in a soft voice started to talk to her.
“I’m not going to hurt you Liz, I don’t know what you have heard of me but I’m not evil. A couple of people that work for me have the gotten wrong impression. I have no intension of killing Zan or any of the royal four. Nicholas mistakenly thought I was in love with Vilandra but the truth is she and my son were together.”
Liz looked at him her big eyes leery but she was listening to what he was saying.
“Do you want to know what happened on Antar Liz?”
He saw her slowly nodding.
“Good, back when Zan ruled Antar the people where unhappy, he had good ideas but the people weren’t ready for that. The people where rebelling under his leadership and I was the rebel leader. I was twenty - one when I lead the revolution against Zan, maybe if Zan had waited a few years his ideas would have been accepted but not at that time. That’s how the war started. Now on Antar maturity happens a bit faster then here on earth and the time goes differently up there. When I was thirteen I became a father and during the war Zan came to negotiate with us. He had brought his little sister with him she was six at the time. The moment Vilandra met Irnof she fell in love with him and he with her. I knew that after that meeting the two kept sneaking off to see each other. The war was going on for five years before they where caught. Zan had found out about them and…,”
Khivar stopped for a moment. He took a sip from the drink his sister had provided for him before continuing.
“You have to understand, Zan had grown bitter during the war and when he found out about the two he ordered his second, Rath, to kill him. Vilandra and Irnof where together when Rath went to blast Irnof and she jumped in front of him taking the blast herself, it killed her instantly. Rath killed Irnof after he got over the shock of killing Vilandra. I’m not proud of the way I acted but I did what I had to do to avenge my son’s death. I killed Zan, Rath and Zan’s wife Ava. After they where dead I thought a lot about Irnof and I went to see my sister who had been taking care of our father during the war and found out that the illness that killed my father killed her. I had ordered before I left the camp to see my sister that the body’s of the royal four should be brought to their family grave and to put my son there also until I returned. When I returned, I had taken my sister's body with me back to the camp. When I got there, there was someone else. Her name was Serena and she asked me if this was what my son had wanted. I told her no and she gave me a chance to make it right. She gave me access to the granolith and with the help of the granolith I recreated them. The royal four, my son and my sister. I sent a couple of warriors with them but they must have gotten their wires crossed. They where supposed to protect them not kill them. Now apparently the granolith made dupes of the royal four, that wasn’t supposed to happen. I’m still glad that two sets of protectors didn’t screw up. My sister’s and my son’s protectors did their job but one of the protectors, the one that was suppose to take care of your friends screwed up completely, Ava died in the pod and he put his own daughter in one to pass her off as Ava.”
For the first time during Khivar’s story Liz spoke up.
“So Tess wasn’t part of the royal four?”
Nicholas nodded from behind Khivar.
“My lord, we need to land.”
“Right, excuse me.”
Khivar went with Nicholas into the cockpit and Rena pulled Liz next to her.
“Did you know?”
“Know what Lizzie?”
“Who I wasand who I was with?”
“No, I didn’t, I knew that the royals where here but I didn’t know that you had any connections with them.”
“Did you grow up on earth?”
“Yes.”
“What’s going to happen with me?”
“Nothing Lizzie, I won't let anything happen to you. But you have to know that my brother really isn’t a bad guy.”
“How long has he been on earth?”
“About three years. He found me two years ago.”
“Oh.”
“Lizzie, there is still more to the story, now that I know who you are, there are other things you need to know. Things that concern you but that will have to wait until we are at the resort.”

3. The return of a friend.

Khivar had just landed the plane at a private island. When they got of the plane there was a limo waiting for them. They got in and drove for about half an hour before they stopped in front of a large beautiful house. Khivar got out of the car and helped both his sister and Liz out of it.
“Liz, I know you don’t trust me but I think you will trust whatever he say’s.”
Khivar said before turning her around and letting her see a man that was coming toward her.
Liz pulled away from Khivar and ran to the man, throwing herself into his arms.
The man was pulling her closer and holding on to her.
“I knew you didn’t kill yourself.”
“And I knew you wouldn’t let it be. I told my father that he needed to get you out of there because I knew that my Lizzie would search for the truth.”
“I missed you Alex.”
“I missed you too.”
Alex looked up to his father and said to him.
“I’m going to take her to my room dad; I’ll explain everything to her.”
Khivar nodded and watched how Alex took Liz with him inside the house.

Alex brought Liz to his room and she sat down on the bed. As she looked around she saw that most of the stuff that had been in his room in Roswell was here.
“What did Khivar tell you?”
“What happened on Antar?”
“Well then he told you about his son Irnof.”
“Yes.”
“Lizzie, I was Irnof. I’m Khivar’s son. And in both lives I have loved Izzy.”
When Liz didn’t respond Alex went on.
“Let me tell you what has happened since the accident, I was near death but dad’s men had come and gotten me out of the car before the sheriff or the ambulance came there, they put a skin in my place Lizzie. They brought me here where I was healed and where I remembered what Tess did to me, I know that you know that Tess did this to me, but she’s not somebody you need to worry about. Now after being healed I was confused I had the memory’s of two life times and all I could think of was coming back home, but I was weak from what Tess put me through. I took me a year to recover and during that year I was demanding that you were brought to me. When Khivar agreed to get you, it was about six months after my supposed death, something happened to postpone that. We got a message from Antar telling us that Tess had arrived there. So Khivar ordered that she was brought to earth. You know that her father put a whole lot of bullshit into her mind. Apparently he profited from the war and wanted to get the war back on, that’s where the whole destiny bullshit came from. When she was brought in front of Khivar she was bragging that she got rid of the person that stood between him and Vilandra and that she was pregnant with king Zan’s child. Khivar got pissed and was planning to kill her. He didn’t though; he knew that nothing come from her death so he implanted her with a chip that stripped her of her powers. Now when they implanted the chip they found out that Tess had never slept with Max, she had mind raped him into thinking that and the mind wrap effected her to. She’s marrying Nicholas; I think that’s a great punishment. Anyway when all of the Tess drama was over Khivar send men to pick you up, but you had disappeared from Roswell. We didn’t want to attract attention to ourselves so we didn’t go and question people. I started to think you disappeared from the face of the earth, we had people looking for you everywhere. Then an hour ago that dad contacted me from the plane I didn’t know that auntie had found you.”
“Wow.”
“I know, Lizzie do you understand that Khivar doesn’t want to harm us or them?”
“Yes.”
“Good.”
“Now it’s late so why don’t I walk you to your room.”
Liz nodded and Alex helped her up.
“Alex?”
“Yeah?”
“What name do you prefer? Alex or Irnof?”
“Alex, it’s the name I’m use to.”
As they walked trough towards her room Alex let her in to a little fact.
“Did you know that my father hasn’t been with anybody since my mother?”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
“Alex, how old is Khivar now?”
“Twenty-eight.”
“Isn’t it strange to call him dad?”
“Not really, it’s like he’s older than he is. It’s like you Liz your twenty-one now but it’s like your soul is older. The only thing I have problems with is calling Rena auntie in her face. It’s too weird.”
Liz smiled at him.
“Hey, watch it, that’s my girl you’re talking about.”
“It’s good to have you back Liz. We’ll talk tomorrow alright?”
“No.”
“No?”
“No, I’m not tired let’s talk some more.”
“Alright.”
Alex and Liz got into the room that was prepared for her.
“So tell me what happened after I died.”
“Well Max turned into an asshole. He threatened Isabel when she wanted to go away for college. He told me the day I wanted to leave for Sweden that if I did that our friendship would be over.”
Alex pulled Liz into his arms as she continued talking.
“You know when I told them that there was no way you would kill yourself they turned on me. But then we all found out what Tess did. Max let her use the granolith to go home. You know he was coming by at my balcony before I left town telling me some crap about he and I are supposed to be together and that was after I saw him and Maria making out.”
“What?!”
“You heard me Alex, so beside my parents I only told Kyle and Michael where I was going. They became my brothers, and completely overprotective.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
Alex looked as Liz was slowly falling asleep next to him. He pulled the covers of the bed down and tucked her in before leaving the room. Before he got out of the room he heard Liz call out to him.
“Alex?”
“Yes Lizzie?”
“Can I hit Tess?”
“Whenever you feel like it.”
“Thanks.”
And with that she fell asleep.

4. Father’s and there son’s

Alex left Liz in her room and saw Khivar coming towards him.
“Well?”

“She’s asleep now. She asked if she could hit Tess, I told her whenever she wants.”

“Does she still think I’m the enemy?”

“Dad, she’s so confused right now. Lizzie needs some time to sort out her thoughts and to make a list or maybe a card.”

“Huh.”

“Liz is a very logical person, uhm, for example when they needed a new work schedule at her parent’s diner she made this card with a color diagram on it. To many people it looks like over doing it but for her it’s a sort of order.”

“She doesn’t like chaos huh?”

“No, she doesn’t have problem with Chaos but she will sort through it on her way.”

“Oh.”

“Dad, do you like her?”

“What?”

“Do you like her?”

“Who?”

“Liz.”

“Son, I, She, She’s your best friend.”

“Dad, do you like her or not?”

“I ….”

“If she wasn’t my best friend would you date her?”

“Alex, …”

“Just answer the question.”

“Yes.”

“Then ask her out dad.”

“What, but she’s…”

“She’s been hurt a lot and you’ve been single for what 14 years, since mom died.”

“Alex, she’s as old as you. Wouldn’t it be weird for you?”

“It’s like I told Liz her soul is older then she is, it’s the same with you, I mean come on dad I have trouble calling Rena aunt but you a guy who’s seven year’s older then me, yet I can call dad with out trouble.”

“Why do you have trouble with calling Rena aunt?”

“Her soul is too young. Look you and Liz have both seen hell and came back from it.”

“Huh?”

“Dad, you survived a war, you came out of it alone. I don’t know what happened to Liz but you can see it in her eyes she’s been to hell and back. I already know a few things that happened but I don’t know everything yet. But what I do know is that after she came back from hell life wasn’t easy on her.”

“So you wouldn’t mind if I…

“No dad, I wouldn’t mind if you and Liz got together, but you have to promise me to not pressure her and to not hurt her.”

“I won’t pressure her son, but you know as well as I that there is no guaranty on not getting hurt.”

“I know that dad.”

“But I can promise I will never hurt her on purpose. So how long have she and Zan been split up?”

“Since before I died.”

“Oh, do you know what happened?”

“There where rumors going around that Liz had slept with Kyle, but I know that Liz would never sleep with someone she wasn’t completely in love with.”
Khivar nodded thoughtfully.

5. Because he’s your enemy that doesn’t make him my enemy.

After the conversation with his son Khivar went to bed. He decided to first get to know Liz before asking her out. So for the rest of the weekend Khivar got to know Liz, during which Liz had told him that she expected him and Alex in Roswell for Christmas.
When the girls where ready to go back to college Alex went with them on the plane. After take off he asked Liz about the whole Kyle thing and so she told him about future Max.
After landing the girls said goodbye to Alex and Khivar and told them that they would see them in two weeks.
When they got back at the dorm Rena started asking Liz questions.

“So Lizzie, do you like my brother?”

“He’s fun.”

“Yes, but do you like him?”
“
What are you talking about?”

“Would you go out with him Liz?”

“Rena, I don’t think he sees me that way. He probably sees me as his son’s best friend.”

“Lizzie, your seven years apart, he sees you like any other man would see you, now if he wasn’t Alex’s father would you go out with him?”

“I don’t know, I guess.”

“You guess?”

“Rena, what difference would it make he is Alex’s father and I’m still Alex best friend.”
Rena looked after Liz as she walked to her room thinking about how Liz would be perfect for her brother. Rena went to her own room and called Alex.

“Alex, its Rena.”

“Hey Rena.”

“Alex, would you mind it if your dad and Liz got together?”

“No, actually I think she’s perfect for him.”
“
I know me to. So I was trying to figure out how Liz feels about Khivar earlier and all she kept say was he is my best friend’ father. I think you need to mention to her that you would be cool with it.”

“God, they are perfect for each other.”

“Huh?”

“Dad asked me questions about her and how I feel about it.”

“Your right there perfect for each other.”


“I’ll talk to Liz when I see her again, but Rena, don’t push her alright. Maria used to do that and Liz didn’t like it. In fact I think if Maria hadn’t been there Liz would never got together with Max.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well she used to break Kyle down while Liz was dating him and point out whenever Max was looking at her. When Maria was dating Michael she kept comparing him with Max. Telling Liz how Max was the perfect boyfriend and shit like that.”

“Oh, well I won’t pressure her. I promise.”

“Thanks Rena.”

“Your welcome, bye.”

“Bye.”

Rena hung up the phone and went to bed.

Christmas break.

Liz was in the hall of her dorm building waiting on Rena. Since the building was practically deserted Liz yelled out.

“RENA, COME ON, WE’VE GOT TO LEAVE! YOUR BROTHER ISN’T GOING TO WAIT FOREVER!”
Rena came down the stairs.

“Well actually he would wait forever, I’m his only sister remember, he would leave me.”

“Yeah, well I don’t feel like testing that theory.”

“Think about it this way, the longer we take the more time he has to change Alex’s face.”

“Let’s go.”

“Alright.”

Liz pulled Rena into the cab and they went to the airport.
When they got on the plane Liz looked Alex over. He had now blond shoulder length hair and green eyes and he looked like he had been working out a lot.

“Hey Alex, you look cute.”

“Thanks Lizzie, but I’m going to be glad when I look like me again.”

Liz smiled and took her seat.
As soon as the plane took off Liz got out of her seat and went to the cockpit.
She asked Nicholas to leave so she could talk to Khivar.
As soon as Nicholas was out of there Liz started talking.

“Hi.”

“Hi.”

“So I was wondering do you want them to know who you are or not?”

“Well I would prefer if they didn’t know who I am.”

“Then I suggest you should take on another name during your stay in Roswell.”

Khivar thought for a few minutes and then said.
“What do you think would be a good name for me?”

“How about Chris?”
“
Chris? Chris, I think I could live with that name in public for two weeks.”

“Good.”

Khivar pushed the auto pilot on and walked her back to the seating area of the plane. As soon as Nicholas saw them he went back into the cockpit. Alex looked at his father for a second and then pulled Liz with him to the back of the plane.

“Lizzie, we need to talk.”

“About?”

“Liz, do you like my father?”

“Not you too.”

“Liz, I wouldn’t mind if you and Dad got together. You two should really give it a go, if that’s what you want. I mean if you like him ask him out, but don’t think your going to hurt me if you got together.”

“Alex, I don’t think he feels that way about me.”

“Yes Liz he does.”

“But…”

“Just promise me you’ll give him a chance.”

“Alex…”

“Promise me.”

“Fine.”

“I need the words Lizzie.”

“I promise. O.k.?”

“Yes.”

Meanwhile;


“Rena, I don’t think she like’s me.”

“Khivar, she’s a bit scared, just ask her out.”

“But what if she say’s no?”

“Then you’ll know and then you can move on.”

“But?”

“Sssshhh, they are coming back.”

Liz and Alex sat back down and they started talking about school.

Roswell.

After the plane had landed they got into the limo Khivar had arranged for them and drove to Roswell. Nicholas, thankfully, wasn’t joining them. When they got into town the car stopped at the Crashdown.

As Liz looked inside they saw that Michael, Kyle and Isabel where arguing with Maria and Max.
Khivar laid his hands on her shoulders and whispered in her ear.

“It’s going to be alright. If they give you a hard time just stick with me.”

“Thanks.”

It was the first time she had came back to town since leaving Roswell. She pushed the door open and walked in deciding to ignore Maria and Max and to just yell at Kyle.

“Kyle Valenti, how dare you keep something from me?”
Kyle turned around and looked scared as Liz was walking toward him.

“Now, Liz. Don’t overreact alright.” When he didn’t get a response from Liz he added.
“Please don’t hurt me.”

On that Liz started to laugh.

“Kyle, why didn’t you tell me you where dating?”

“I, I...” And before Kyle could say anything more then that Isabel answered for him.

“We’re not dating anymore, we got together but I realized I wasn’t over Alex yet and he realized that we where better off being friends. Liz, can you forgive me for the way I treated you?”

Liz didn’t say anything but pulled Isabel into a hug.
Max got up from where he sat and looked at Khivar, Alex and Rena.

“Who are they?”

Michael pushed past Max and walked over toward Rena.

“Hi again.”

Part 10: The confrontation.

It was the night of Liz’s her graduation as she walked into the bedroom after a shower, there where several boxes spread over the bed.

“Khivar?” Instead of Khivar Alex walked in.

“Dad had an errand to run. He said to tell you that since tonight is your night you have to open the boxes, put on what’s in them and meet him in an hour downstairs.”

Liz watched Alex leave the room and opened the first box in it was laying a beautiful red silk dress. She took the next box and found a pair of knee high red booths. An other box revealed a purse and the last box was filled with a necklace, a bracelet and a pair of earrings. She started getting dressed and put in the earrings. She grabbed the purse and put in her keys and phone. She checked her reflection in the mirror and walked down the stairs holding the bracelet and the necklaces.
As she entered the living room Khivar was waiting for her dressed in a tux. Her gown and hat where hanging over a chair nearby. Liz watched Alex leave the room and opened the first box in it was laying a beautiful red silk dress. She took the next box and found a pair of knee high red boots. As she opened the remaining boxes Liz found a purse, a necklace, a bracelet and a pair of earrings. Moving to get dressed Liz put the earrings on, finishing quickly she grabbed her purse, tossed in her key and phone then looked in the mirror one last time before going downstairs. Liz had the bracelet and necklace in her hand as she entered the living room. She spotter her gown and cap lying on the chair, as she looked up she found Khivar was waiting for her dressed in a tux.

“You look beautiful.”

“Thank you. Can you fasten these?” She asked as she handed him the jewellery. Quickly he locked the bracelet around her wrist before moving behind her, he kissed her bare shoulder before fastening the jewel.

“I like my gifts.”

“Thank you.” Helped her put on the gradation gown and placed the cap head on her before escorting her to a waiting limo.”

“Khivar, where are the others?”

“They already left they where going to meet us there.”

After the ceremonies and the congratulations of her friends and family Khivar pulled her back to the limo. “Baby, I want to take you somewhere.”

“Let’s go.” She said as she pulled of the graduation gown and tossed it and the caphat in the limo.
