Teaser: Liz decides she is sick of being Good ole Liz Parker. She visits Lonnie in the summer, gets a new attitude and grows a spine. With things over between her and Max, what will happen when he visits her from the future?
Stuffs to know: End of season one. Tess ain’t all that bad. Alex will live. The dupes will play a large part in this story, as for who is good and who is evil…

Part 1

“Max, you do have a destiny. You just heard it. I can't stand in the way of it” Liz mumbled struggling to keep her tears unshed

“But you mean everything to me” Max stated honestly before pressing his lips to Liz’s

“Goodbye, Max”

Max followed Liz as she ran outside “Liz, Liz Wait” he pleaded before Michael grabbed his arm

“You gotta let her go” Max struggled against his grip but new he was right.

Liz ran home. Things had been shaky between Liz and Max since the arrival of Tess but now it was official. He had a destiny and it did not include her. She was grateful Michael stopped Max from chasing after her, but part of her wanted Max to say everything will be ok as he scooped her into her arms

When Liz finally arrived home she climbed the ladder to her balcony, not wanting her parents to see her like this. Liz collapsed on her bed and cried into her pillow.

This wasn’t supposed to happen. She was supposed to graduate with Max, get married and eventually have two point five kids and a white picket fence. It started when that blonde gerbil came to town, with her bleached hair and destiny bullshit. Although it wasn’t bullshit.

The most annoying thing was that Tess and Liz got on so well. Liz had even had a night or to where she would talk about stuff with Tess rather than Maria. But at the moment Liz couldn’t help but hate her. Hell she hated the whole group of aliens at this stage.

At that moment Liz heard someone climbing up her balcony and hoped to god it wasn’t Max. It was however the reason Liz was hurting so much. Heading over to her window she headed out onto her balcony to join Tess.

“Hey Liz” Tess greeted cautiously

“Hey” Liz wiped the tears from her face

“Look I know that I am the last person you want to see right now but I just wanted to apologize. I mean there isn’t a lot I can do about it but I am sorry”

“Tess…” I seriously don’t need this right now Liz thought “Look it’s not your fault. On the other hand I am not going to lie, you aren’t exactly my favourite person right now”

“How do you do that?” Tess asked

“Do what?”

“It’s just you, good ole Liz Parker. You’re always calm level headed, sensible. If it were the other way around I would be getting violent”

Liz just gave a half smile back. “Listen um I’m kinda tired…”

“See your probably thinking something along the lines of piss off you slut but you wouldn’t say it.” Tess chuckled “I’ll see ya round Liz”

“Bye” Liz said as she climbed back into her room. Stopping in front of mirror Liz looked at herself and allowed Tess’s words to really sink in. calm, level headed, sensible. Liz looked at her outfit. A turtle neck sweater and a plain pair of jeans, nothing special. Tess was right, she was just good ole Liz parker. Liz glanced up at a photo taken at a recent concert in New York and had an idea

A few months ago she had won tickets to see the offspring in New York. Not being able to choose whether to ask Maria or Alex to go with her she ended up keeping it to herself and going alone, which wasn’t the best of ideas. Half an hour into the concert she was hit on by a guy who looked remarkably like Max. Enter Lonnie.

Lonnie got rid of Zan who Liz later found out to be her brother. For the rest of the concert Liz and Lonnie hung out and Liz ended up going back to their place instead of the hotel. Well it wasn’t much of a place really, they lived in the sewers after all. Once there Liz met Rath, a Michael look alike and Ava a Tess look alike. Common denominator, they all looked like aliens and Liz presumed they were however didn’t tell them that.

Liz never asked many questions, she was only staying there for the night and at the time she was only friends with Lonnie at the time. As Liz stopped reminiscing she decided it was time to change a few things. It was now the summer holidays now and there was no way she was going to stay in Roswell and watch Max and Tess together. She needed a change and she needed it soon.

“Hey Lizzie what's up its been a while since I last heard from ya” Liz barely heard Lonnie answer cupping the phone to her ear in attempt to hear better due to static

“Hey Lonnie. Not so good, bad break up. I was wondering if you had space for a roommate over the summer?” Liz asked hopefully.

“You gonna come visit? Of course we got room when can you get here?” Lonnie sounded excited

“I’ll have to clear it with my parents but ASAP. I decided I need a change in personality and well everything”

“Then change you we will. Clear it with you parents and give me a call when you got details of your arrival. I gotta go”

“Okay talk to you soon” Liz said hanging up.

“Everything okay sweetheart?” Nancy asked as she entered Liz’s room

“Yeah mom, listen I was thinking of going to stay with Lonnie for the summer” Liz began hopefully

“That girl you met at the concert? I don’t know Liz that’s in New York. Besides this does seem all of a sudden”

“I know but well Max and I broke up and I just really need some space. Please it will be good for me” Liz pleaded

“Well, your dad won’t like it” Nancy shook her head “We’ll have to tell him you are going to stay with your aunt in Florida”

“Thanks mom” Liz smiled as she hugged her mom

“Just promise me you will always have your cell phone and that you have plenty of credit in case of emergency”

“I promise” Liz said excitedly as she began to pack some essentials in a back pack.

“You’re packing already?” Nancy asked shocked

“No time like the present. Besides I am kind of avoiding Maria this summer to, so I will probably get a new phone number that you dad and Alex can have because I really don’t feel like talking to anyone else”

“You do know that all your problems will still be here when you get back” Nancy warned

“I know I just need some time to figure out who I am, maybe even change who I am” Liz said deciding that she had packed enough. She had necessary toiletries, a large amount of money, a few items of clothing and her journal.

“Well then lets go and get you this new number, then I’ll take you to the bus station”

Half an hour later Liz was on a bus bound for New York.

Part 2

The bus was due to arrive in New York at ten in the morning and Lonnie was meeting Liz at the station. When it was about nine thirty Liz pulled out her new cell phone, a present from her mother, and rung Alex.

Hello

“Hey Alex, its Liz”

Hey there, wait why the different number… and are you on a bus?

“Yeah I wanted to get away for the summer. And I hope you feel special because you are the only one I am giving this number to”

Not even Ria? Alex sounded surprised

“I know she is going to be mad but I need some space. If anyone asks I am in Florida”

And where are you actually going?

“New York”

WHAT?!?

“Remember how I told you about that girl at the concert? Well I am staying with her”

Liz, is this one of those come back from summer as a bad ass, type stunts?

“Hopefully. It’s just, when I found out about Max’s destiny I was so hurt inside even though our relationship was falling apart. And then Tess came to talk to me and she made a comment that I am always so calm and level headed”

And you wanna chuck a Ben stiller and turn Mr. Furious?

“I kinda need to, and I need to learn how to let loose a bit, New York just seems the right place to do that”

Just be careful okay I can’t protect you when you’re in New York

Liz laughed “Always the protector” she joked “What about you how do you feel about all that destiny crap?”

My crush on Isabel? I’ll get over it. I don’t think we ever would have ended up together anyway

“Cheer up, I’ll bring you back something good. [Maybe even someone] Anyway just promise you won’t give Ria or Max this number. I don’t want to hear from his highness and Maria will just complain that I left without talking to her and complain about how me not being there will affect her”

Alright but that means I get to call you whenever I feel like it

“It’s a deal, listen I gotta go the bus is pulling in to the station just remember anyone asks I am in Florida”

Okay I’ll talk to you soon

“Bye Alex”

Liz hung up her phone and grabbed her bag before getting off the bus. Looking around she saw Lonnie waiting.

“Hey girl” Lonnie said giving Liz a quick hug “I tell ya it is gonna be so good having some normal female company this summer”

“Ava still acting weird?”

“She is weird” Lonnie quipped “Shit you pack lightly don’t ya?” Lonnie pointed out noticing that Liz only had a back pack with her

“Well I have plenty of money so anything else I need I will buy including clothes”

“Well no time like the present, lets go shopping” Lonnie said

Half an hour later, Liz was in the change room of Lonnie’s favorite store trying on a variety of small pieces of clothing.

“So Liz… You even wanna be called Liz still?” Lonnie asked

Liz pulled back the curtain and stood in front of a mirror, she was wearing a short black pleated skirt that had a fine chain on one side, coupled with a deep green singlet top. “Not particularly, but what are you gonna call me instead?” Liz said heading back into the change room and throwing the outfit on the yes pile

“What about Ella?” Lonnie suggested

“I like Ella” Liz nodded

“Okay Ella it is. Oh yeah that’s what I was going to ask what's your favorite band?” Lonnie asked as Liz threw a pair of ripped jeans on the yes pile

“Used to be Gomez”

“Yuk well I am guessing you don’t listen to a lot of metal music, so try and pick a new favorite band”

“What about Metallica?”

“Nicely chosen, we’ll stop by and get a few of their albums after this. Rath will be proud”

So will Michael Liz though to her self. Mentally slapping herself for even thinking about the Pod Squad, she chose a few more tops and a pair of surprisingly comfortable leather pants before they exited the store. “Where to next?” Liz asked

“Pick up a few accessories” Lonnie said before lighting a cigarette.

“Those things will kill you ya know?” Liz pointed out

“Naah I have measures that can prevent that” Lonnie smirked

Liz new that she meant her alien powers, but decided that they would discuss that later in the summer.

“Here” Lonnie said handing her the half finished cigarette.

Liz paused momentarily before taking the cigarette from Lonnie. However as Liz inhaled she began coughing.

Lonnie chuckled “You’ll get used to that. Come on we gotta accessorize and get back before Rath goes ape shit”

“Does he do that often?”

“Just likes to know where I am. Typical big bro shit. Anyways you gotta choose a belt, a chain, a choker, a wristband, a ring or two-”

“All at once?” Liz asked disbelievingly

“Well we are buying it all at once but you won’t be wearing it all at once. I thought you were the smart one” Lonnie joked

“Hey” Liz wined

After choosing a black studded belt, a simple chain, a plain black leather choker, a black studded wristband and two silver rings, Liz and Lonnie headed back to the sewers. Zan and Ava were their usual ignorant selves and Rath was out buying food when Liz arrived.

Lonnie showed Liz into her room, where she would be staying for the next three months. As Liz unpacked all the stuff she had bought that day she couldn’t help the smile that spread across her face. Roswell’s not going to know what hit it.

Part 3

~A Month Later~

Liz and Lonnie were heading home after a workout at the gym. Each of them with a cigarette in hand Liz slowed down when her phone rang

“Hey Alex” Liz said answering her phone “So much for calling me whenever you feel like it”

Sorry bout that Liz, things have been… hectic here.

“Pod squad giving you trouble?” Liz asked

Yeah, they are trying to distance themselves from our little group. But Maria and Michael have an argument and then Isabel will say something and Kyle will snap at her. Then Max snaps then I snap. Generally a lot of snapping

“Yeah that sounds like king Max. Maria and Michael dating still?”

No but with your parents always going away, they get left in charge of the restaurant so that constantly causes a brawl. Surprisingly enough Tess is often settling things down. As much as it shocks me she has been the nice alien

“Whoah that was unexpected”

Yeah. So what are you up to?

“Heading home after a session at the gym” Liz explained

A gym? Alex chuckled

“Yeah Lonnie and her friend say I needed some muscle definition. That and we did a self defense course”

Self defense?

“Basically we fight until someone gets pinned to the floor” Liz laughed “What about you what have you been up to?”

Believe it or not Michael and I are about to watch Bill and Ted

“If he works out who this is he isn’t allowed to tell Ria.” She warned “Speaking of which how’s she going?”

Ria’s good you were right she did have a bitch about you leaving with out-

“Alex?” Liz questioned when he was cut off

Parker! Where the fuck are you? We are stuck here listening to Maria bitch about you leaving

“Hello to you to Michael” Liz quipped sarcastically “I am in New York and I swear to god if you tell Maria where I am I will stick ya nuts in a blender when I get home”

You’ll what? Michael asked obviously not expecting such a vulgar threat from her

“You heard. I came here to get away from Max’s staring and Maria’s rambling. I have had an excellent month so far and I don’t intend on having it ruined” Liz warned lighting up a cigarette

Are you smoking? He asked shocked You do know they’ll kill you

Liz sighed. In a weird way Michael was just trying to look out for her but she was not in the mood for a lecture “There’s things inside without a care” she cryptically replied

That’s Metallica Michael stated the obvious What's gotten into you Parker?

“What's the matter not used to a girl with a spine?” Liz questioned

Michael attempted to defend himself That’s not true Maria has a spine

“No Maria has a mouth." She quipped "I’m going under ground tell Alex I’ll call him later. You keep quiet” Liz hung up and headed underground with Lonnie following her suspiciously

“Ella, why didn’t you just say Rath’s name? And what did you mean by pod squad and king Max?” Lonnie asked

“Look I know you guys are aliens”

“What are you talking about we are aliens?” Lonnie asked acting confused

“Last year I was shot. Max healed me with his powers. Now Max, Isabel, Tess and Michael are aliens. You Rath Ava and Zan all look like one of them” Liz explained

“So why do you seem so nervous?” Lonnie asked

“Because I have powers too”

“You should have told me” Lonnie sounded hurt

“I’m sorry Lonnie but I was having so much fun. And I don’t want Zan and Ava to know. I don’t trust them. Besides I didn’t know how, I mean what was I supposed to say? That room I’m not allowed in, I guess that’s where you keep your pods? Oh by the way I have powers”

“Well I can understand you not wanting anyone else to know. You sure you don’t want to even tell Rath?” Lonnie asked

“Yeah… something just doesn’t seem right” Liz explained

“Well for not telling me I get to do your hair” Lonnie stated “And work on your powers and all that” she added

“It’s a plan” Liz said when they got back to the sewer area they called home. As usual Zan and Ava were nowhere to be found. Liz sat on the couch and Lonnie set about doing Liz’s hair with her powers.

“So what's the difference between you four and the other set?” Liz asked

“We are more alien” Lonnie explained “At least that’s what our protector said before he abandoned us”

“That sucks” Liz pointed out “So we’re in agreement then Zan and Ava don’t need to know?”

“Pfft no way” Lonnie scoffed “There, what do you think?” She handed Liz a mirror

Looking the mirror Liz noticed that her hair was now black and comprised of a few layers. She had shortened it so there was now a reasonable sized gap between her hair and her shoulders. “I like it” Liz said “ Its styled yet messy”

“A finishing touch” Lonnie waved her hand over Liz’s hair and it now had a number of red streaks.

“Sweet” Rath said with a nod of his head when he came out of his room

“Gee nice hair” A sarcastic voice said from the door way. It was Ava

“And how are you today Ava?” Liz sarcastically asked

Ava simply ignored her and headed to the pod chamber were she slept with Zan. “Got a call from a guy called Nasedo says he has some info that will help us with our… Father” Zan stated as he looked at Liz “He’s sending Ava’s cousin ta stay with us in a month. She’ll be here for two weeks” Zan finished obviously not happy Liz was with them at this point in time

“Yes sir king butt munch” Liz said giving him a salute “Lonnie and I are heading out now anyway” Liz said grabbing Lonnie’s arm and pulling her out

“Liz we only just got back” Lonnie pointed out

“I know Nasedo and I also know Ava’s ‘cousin’ Tess. Nasedo is a butt munch about the whole destiny thing, even Tess doesn’t fully trust him. She moved in with Kyle, a friend of mine”

“Wait so why did we have to leave?” Lonnie asked

“Because I wanted to talk to Tess on the phone but I knew if I left by myself it would look suspicious” Liz pointed out “Besides now I feel like blowing something up”

“Come on” Lonnie smirked “You can walk and talk and I’ll take you to where we go to blow stuff up”

“Thanks” Liz said taking out her cell and calling the Valenti household.

Jim Valenti

“Hi Mr. Valenti, This is Ella I was wondering if I could speak to Tess?”

Sure, just wait a moment there was silence until hello?

“Tess its Liz, just call me Ella for now”

Well…Ella you have really bad timing. Kyle and I were…

“Fucking?” Liz suggested

WHAT? Michael was right you have changed…I like it. But don’t worry he hasn’t told anyone else. Anyway what do you want?

“Planning a trip to New York in a month?”

No…why?

“You will be. There is another set of Antarians here and Nasedo is going to send you to meet them at the end of the month”

How do you know this?

“I’ll explain that when you get here just come alone, don’t say that you are from Roswell and be careful what you say around Zan and Ava. They look like you and Max but neither me Rath or Lonnie trust them”

You sure you’ll end up explaining this? Tess asked getting up to answer the door If this is Max at the door I might let slip that I am talking to you just to piss him off

Liz laughed “As long as you don’t tell him where I am. And remember don’t tell anyone about this and remember what I said okay. I promise I’ll explain everything” She finished seriously

Come alone. Keep quite around the two previously mentioned and I am not from Roswell. Guess I’ll see you in a month.

Liz heard Tess opening the door

Sorry Liz I have to go Max is at the door Liz laughed when Tess hung up immediately after her statement.

Liz looked around and realized that Lonnie had led her to an abandoned worksite, similar to the quarry.

“Not as much fun as other stuff but it is easiest to start blowing up rocks” Lonnie began “Just sort of point your hand in the direction of a rock and picture it blowing up”

Liz obeyed and a nearby rock blew up immediately

“You are going to adapt to this very quickly” Lonnie chuckled

Part 4

~ A month later~

Liz now had full control over her powers. She could not mind warp or dream walk but she could blast and blow things up better than she had seen Max or Michael do it. She was now smoking fairly regularly, something she would end up phasing out once she was back in Roswell. She new many Metallica songs off by heart, mainly because that’s all they ever listened to.

She was getting around in outfits that the old Liz wouldn’t even dream of wearing. She still went to the gym with Lonnie and sometimes Rath a few times a week and she had even managed to beat Lonnie in one of their fights. She wondered what everyone would think when she went home, Liz was even contemplating going home when Tess did two weeks before the end of the holidays.

Today was the day Tess was due to arrive and Liz was slightly nervous.

“So what time is your cousin due to arrive?” Liz asked politely as possible given she was taking to Ava

“Zan went to pick her up she should be here soon” Ava stated

Liz rolled her eyes and lit a cigarette before heading up to the CD player and playing reload. She skipped to the song Attitude , for two reasons. She really liked this song and Ava hated it. Ava sent a glare towards Liz who smiled back. At that moment Zan arrived with Tess

“Lonnie, Rath, Ella and Ava” He said pointing to everyone, he sounded bored

Tess said hi to everyone before staring at Liz. She was wearing a pair of tight jeans, black doc martins and a black singlet top that left her entire stomach bare. “You okay Tess?” Liz questioned

“Uh yeah I’m fine, just a little tired, and kinda hungry”

“Well we-“ Ava started but Lonnie cut her off

“Liz and I were about to head out and get something to eat, how bout you join us?”

Zan began “Lonnie we have to-”

“I’d love to” Tess said and the three of them left a very stunned Rath and a pissed off Zan and Ava behind.

Once they were out of ear shot Tess turned to Lonnie and Liz “I don’t know what you did to but I like it”

Liz laughed

“Well look at yourself Liz you’re a punk” Tess pointed out “And you finally have a hairstyle. When you left you had very boring hair”

“Thanks to Lonnie” Liz said “Any way I bet you are wondering what I am doing here”

“Well yeah” Tess nodded

“Lonnie and I met at a concert last year. She brought me back here to stay the night where I met Rath, Zan and Ava. Zan and Ava suck. Rath I’m not sure about and Lonnie rocks”

“Thanks girl” Lonnie said

“Anyway after the whole destiny thing and you calling me good ole Liz parker-”

“Yeah sorry bout that” Tess said

“Don’t be, after that I decided I needed a change so I caught the next bus here where Rath and mostly Lonnie worked their magic” Liz finished explaining as they made them selves comfortable around a picnic table in a near by park

“And why do I have to be so secretive?” Tess asked

“Because the rest of them don’t know that I know they are aliens. And I want to keep the whole powers thing from them a secret” Liz explained

“Wait powers?” Tess asked wide eyed

“Yeah, because the bullet wound was so bad when Max healed me, he changed me so now I am kinda also a hybrid” Liz emphasized the word kinda

“And I noticed you are smoking, can you imagine what Max would say?” Tess chuckled

“See that’s the thing I don’t give a fuck what Max would say, I am totally over king nothing” Liz and Lonnie high fived at the Metallica reference.

Tess mouth formed an O before she stated “Liz when I used to know you, I liked you, but now I wanna be like you” Tess said seriously

“That can be arranged” Lonnie smiled “But first we’ll get business out of the way, why did Nasedo send you here?”

“Something about a summit, Khivar wants the royal seal and/or the granolith” Tess explained

“Do you know where the granolith is?” Liz questioned

“Yeah but I am the only one who does. I suspected Nasedo of being a bit suss and I was right, he has only stuck around to benefit himself. I haven’t told any of the Roswell aliens because I don’t trust them. Well I don’t trust Max or Isabel, Michael I just don’t talk to all that often” Tess rambled.

“You and Max not hit it off?” Liz asked

“Not really, he’s annoying and a really bad kisser”

“That’s the thing, I did a lot of thinking when I first got here and he is. He is a horrible kisser” Lonnie and Tess joined Liz laughing about Max.

“So you and Kyle?” Liz asked

“Ugh I dunno” Tess began “That night you rang we were making out but Max came over to talk about me coming here. Oh and he was so annoyed that you were talking to me and not him” Tess laughed

“I bet, anyway you and Kyle?”

“Well he has been avoiding me ever since that night”

“By the time we go home he won’t be avoiding you” Liz chuckled

“So can you do my hair like that?” Tess asked Lonnie who nodded and got up and began changing her hair “Keep mine longer though, so Ella what powers

“Uhh basic blowing up stuff blasting stuff”

“Shield?” Tess asked

“Yep” Liz said raising her hand and putting up a small shield between them

“Holy Shit” Tess stated

“What”

“The royal seal. It appears on your hand when you put up a shield” Tess pointed out

“What does that mean?” Liz asked Lonnie

“When this Max guy healed he must have wanted so bad to heal you that he transferred the seal over to you. I don’t know exactly what it means but I think it should stay between the three of us” Lonnie said seriously

“That seal is what they want at this summit thing” Tess pointed out “Do not tell anyone you have it”

“I won’t” Liz stressed

Lonnie finished doing Tess’s hair in a similar messy style to Liz’s and gave her black streaks. “Now that that’s out of the way I say we go shopping” Lonnie said.

The three of them headed to a mall not realizing just how important Liz having the seal was.

Part 5

Two weeks had passed since Tess’s arrival and she along with Liz was getting ready to go home to Roswell. Tess spent all her time with Liz, Lonnie and on rare occasions Rath, becoming more of a ‘punk’. Zan and Ava were hardly around and Tess didn’t know why Nasedo had sent her to New York in the first place, when the summit was not until the end of the holidays.

Liz was actually really enjoying Tess’s company. It was like Maria with out the constant talking. Both of them enjoyed the occasional cigarette and they high fived each other when ever they mentioned something to do with Metallica. Tess had helped Liz with the molecular manipulation side of her powers but Liz didn’t really use them that often.

“Ready to go guys?” Lonnie asked

“Now you have to come visit us in Roswell okay? As soon as you can” Liz said placing her very full back pack on her back

“Yeah, you guys need one last touch though” Lonnie said holding up what looked like two little silver bars

“What are they?” Tess asked

“Tongue rings, and before you ask if I pierce ya tongues with my powers it won’t hurt and will be fully healed” Lonnie explained

“Okay” Tess and Liz said at the same time and stuck out their tongues. Lonnie used her powers first on Liz and then on Tess. Liz moved her tongue around in her mouth a bit. Lonnie was right it didn’t hurt but it was a strange feeling, she laughed when she saw Tess doing the same thing.

“This probably would have come in handy that night we don’t remember” Liz said jokingly to Lonnie

“Yeah I heard about that” Tess laughed

“Alright well you guys better get going if you are going to catch your bus in time” Lonnie said giving each of them a hug.

“We’ll be expecting you in Roswell within a couple of weeks” Tess stated as she picked up her duffel bag. Liz picked up her duffel bag and followed Tess out of the sewers and in the direction of the bus station. Once they were both seated on the bus Liz turned to Tess

“What do you think everyone will say when they see us?” she smiled at the thought

“I don’t know. So much has changed, for the both of us. I mean we are both physically stronger and can kick ass if required” Tess said jokingly flexing her muscles

“And we both now know a substantial amount about Metallica” Liz pointed out “But think the only one that will impress is Michael”

“And then there is the out fits” Tess said referring to the many tight clothes in each of their duffel bags

“Yeah all of which are dark colors” Liz laughed

“And we both enjoy the odd smoke every know and then” Tess pointed out

“And the tongue rings” They both burst out laughing.

“I might ring Maria and get most of the rant out of the way before we get there” Liz muttered pulling out her cell

“Hey Ria”

LIZ, oh my god where the hell have you been all summer?!? And with out a word. Alex tells me Florida-

Liz covered her phone and turned to Tess “Do they know you were in New York?”

Tess nodded “Nasedo made me tell them I was in New York but trying to find the other protector. No one in Roswell knows about the others yet”

“We’ll keep it that way for now” Liz said placing the phone back up to her ear, just as she thought Maria was still talking

I mean, why would you tell him where you were and not me. It just doesn’t make sense I mean why the hell-

“Maria shut the fuck up breath and let me talk”

What!?!

“Look I’m sorry I didn’t tell you but I needed a break from things. Yes you are right I wasn’t in Florida I was in New York. A lot has changed I am nothing like I was before I left. Two weeks ago I bumped into Tess and we ended up hanging out.”

You were hanging out with Tess? Maria sounded slightly hurt but also shocked

“Yeah, anyway we are on a bus at the moment and will be back in Roswell in half an hour at the most”

What do you mean you aren’t like how you were before you left?

“Chill out Ria the memory remains” Liz said high fiving Tess

Okay, I’ll get everyone together at Michael’s apartment, your parents are out of town and the crash is closed at the moment but we don’t wanna meet there because the waitress your dad hired over the summer is constantly flirting with Michael.

“Not jealous are we?” Liz asked

Pfft no I am 100 percent over Michael

“Good to know, I’ll see ya soon” Liz hung up and turned to Tess. “She is getting everyone together and they are meeting us at Michael’s”

“Well I think we are appropriately dressed” Tess said looking down at their out fits as they passed a familiar mile marker causing both girls to laugh.

Part 6

Tess was wearing a pair of baggy black pants and a red camouflage top that showed a fair amount of cleavage. She was also wearing a large spiky wrist band and a chain on one side of her jeans.

Liz however was wearing a dark blue pair of tight hipster jeans, and a black army style tank top that hugged her figure. She was also wearing a studded belt and a black leather choker.

They got off the bus and carried their duffel bags in the direction of Michael's. "I want that star, I want it all I want it now and I don’t care how" Liz began singing to herself as they headed up the stairs to his apartment

As they reached Michaels floor Tess joined in and both girls slowly became louder "Careful what you wish. Careful what you say"

Michael, Alex and Kyle were waiting in the apartment for Liz, Tess and the others to show up. They were sitting in silence until they heard two people singing Metallica.

"...You just might get it, careful what you wish you just might get it"

Alex chuckled and got up heading towards the door

“Where you going man?” Michael asked

“Liz and Tess are here” He laughed at the confused look on both Kyle and Michael’s face

"Hey Lizzie, good to see you again" Alex said pulling her into a hug

"Hey Alex" Liz said hugging her best friend.

“Parker?” Michael asked obviously shocked

"Is that a good silence or a bad silence?" Liz asked as she stuck out her arms and spun on the spot

"Uh that’s an excellent silence" Michael stammered before Liz gave him a hug

"Liz?" she heard a faint whisper form the doorway.

Liz took a deep breath before turning around "Hey Max" She turned to see Max with Isabel and Maria behind him

"Chica don't you ever disappear again" Maria demanded giving her friend a hug

"God Maria, I'm fine. Although you would probably flip if you saw the accommodation where me and Tess were" Liz chuckled

"Wait you were staying with Tess?" Max asked shocked

"Yeah"

"So uh how was New York?" Michael asked still shocked at the amazing new Liz that had hugged him moments earlier

"You guys were in New York!?!" Max asked furiously

"New York was fun" Liz said to Michael

"And you new about this?" Max turned to Michael "Why didn’t you say anything something horrible could have happened to her!"

"MAX! I am standing right here. I was staying with a friend of mine and although her family could use a kick in the ass I could and can take care of myself" Liz pointed out, suddenly wishing that she had stayed in New York a little longer

"Did you just say ass?" Isabel scoffed

"Don’t start any of your shit Isabel you aren’t as great as you think you are" Liz sighed with a roll of her eyes.

Kyle, Michael and Alex began chuckling earning glares from Max and Isabel. Tess could see just how annoyed Max was getting and decided to escalate things

“Anyway Liz you were about to tell me what happened with Lonnie and her friend” She smirked

“Ra...Robert right” Liz chuckled sending enough of a glare towards Tess so she would know to keep quiet “So Robert Lonnie and I are all sitting around having a good time, when he pulls out a bottle of Vodka. Needless to say alcohol didn’t agree with either of us and we got beyond smashed”

“You got drunk?” Max questioned disbelievingly

“Smashed, drunk same thing Max. Do try and keep up” Liz requested “So anyway I wake up the next day, mega hangover, I realize that I am not in my bed and that I am lying there naked-”

Liz stopped when the guys in the room coughed and looked else where

“So where were you?” Tess asked trying not to laugh

“Rob’s bed”

“Omigod” Tess gasped

“That’s not the worst part, Rob was there and so was Lonnie”

Tess started laughing, both at Liz and look on everyone’s face

“And no one remembers what happened?” Tess asked wide eyed as Liz shook her head

“I’ll see ya later” Max stated before storming out of the apartment with Isabel close behind him.

“Chica he loved you, how could you say something like that as if it didn’t matter?” Maria asked with a disappointed look on her face before leaving. Liz gave her retreating form the finger

“I think Courtney is going to have a run for her money in being the crash bad girl” Kyle joked to Alex, who nodded

“Who is Courtney?” Tess asked as she and Liz went over to the window and lit up a cigarette

“Liz’s parents hired a new waitress over the summer she thinks she is a bit of a bad girl” Alex explained

“That and she has a thing for Michael” Kyle laughed causing Michael to scowl at him

“Thing for Michael, wouldn’t be talking about me now would you” Courtney said as she walked into Michaels apartment. Maria must have left the door open.

“Anyway we gotta go guys we’ll see ya later” Kyle said as he and Alex left laughing

Liz watched as Courtney sauntered her way over to Michael and pressed her body to his side. Tess and Liz rolled their eyes at her smutty behavior. Liz looked at Michael and laughed when she saw that he was doing the same thing

“Did you want something Courtney?” Michael asked

“Just to see you”

Tess made retching noises before Liz decided to say something “Uh skank, I mean Courtney can you stop rubbing yourself on our grill chef, it’s unhygienic”

Courtney turned around with a shocked look on her face while Michael looked impressed behind her.

“You’re saying I am a skank?” Courtney asked furiously

“Did I stutter?” Liz asked watching Michael, whose body was shaking as he still tried to hold in the laughter

“Why you little…”

“You’re fired, by the way” Liz stated as she had the last drag from her cigarette and put it out with her finger tips and flicking the stub out the window.

“What do you mean fired? Who do you think you are?” Courtney demanded getting very angry

“I am Jeff Parker’s daughter. You are jobless Courtney.

Courtney raised her hand to slap Liz however Michael caught her wrist, his voice taking a serious tone. “You touch her I’ll make you regret it”

“Thanks Guerin” Liz winked at him “But let her go; she couldn’t hit me if she tried”

Michael let go and a furious Courtney went to this time punch Liz. However thanks to her many fights with Rath, Lonnie and at a later stage Tess, Liz saw the punch coming and grabbed her wrist twisted her arm behind her back. But she saw the weirdest thing on the back of Courtney’s head. She remembered something Lonnie had told her

They have a button thing on the back of their head that opens the husk, exposing their natural bodies and killing them

“What the…?” Liz mumbled, receiving a very painful stab in the ribs from Courtney’s elbow causing her to fall over.

Courtney fled the apartment and Michael bent down to help Liz up. “You alright Parker? You zoned out for moment there”

Liz looked past Michael to Tess "She’s a skin"

"What?"

"What is a skin?" Michael asked

"Uh basically they are the bad guys. They can't survive in our atmosphere so they wear these protective husks. But they don’t last forever and the husks have a button on the back of their head that acts as a release mechanism" Liz explained

"How do you know all this?" Michael questioned

"Lonnie told me. Look how long has Courtney been in Roswell?"

"Um she arrived a few days after Tess left. How does Lonnie know about skins?"

"Nasedo. That must have been why he sent me to New York. Listen I gotta go warn a few people I really don't trust him. I'll meet you at the crash later" Tess said as she left

"Did Courtney have a locker?" Liz asked and continued when Michael nodded "Come on we need to go through that" Liz said as she left with Michael and they headed for the crash

"You didn't answer my question how does Lonnie know about skins when we don't"

"Lonnie is short for Vilandra. Not long after the Roswell crash aliens landed in New York as well. They are another set of you guys only they are more alien"

"Okay then. So why haven't we heard anything about them before now?"

"Because they didn't know you existed until now. And Nasedo well he is not to be trusted. See their protector abandoned them in the sewers. That’s where their pods are, that’s where they live and that’s where Tess and I stayed"

"You were staying in the sewers?!" Michael questioned angrily

"Please don't chuck a Max, I can look after myself" Liz explained as she unlocked the back door to the crashdown

"I'm sure you can, I care about you that's all"

Liz gave smile as Michael headed towards the break room "So parker, is there anything else new you gonna surprise me with?"

"Not unless we make out or I give you head" Liz muttered not intending for Michael to hear

But he did hear "WHAT?" she heard him yell

Liz chuckled "I got a tongue ring" she explained with a shrug of her shoulders

"Right, I'm thinking I may need to read our journal again just to catch up" Michael said as he opened Courtney's locker "She has a bunch of my stuff that I thought I'd lost" he pointed out

But Liz wasn't paying attention. She remembered back to when Michael had stolen her journal. Or rather something he said when he gave it back.

"Hey Michael" Liz said gesturing for him to sit with her on the couch

"What’s up"

"When you gave my journal back that night why did you say that I had given you another reason to be jealous of Max Evans?"

Michael went quiet

"Michael?"

"We gotta work out this skin thing" he said making a move to get up

However Liz stood defiantly between Michael and the door “I’m not moving until you answer me”

"I think you grew too much of a spine in New York"

Liz playfully stuck out her tongue

"You really want to know?"

"I asked didn't I?"

Michael sighed "See Max and I have been friends for as long as I can remember. I am jealous of him because he is better than me at everything. He's smarter, he can control his powers, and he gets on well with everyone. Max got to grow up with a family, meanwhile I was stuck with Hank"

Liz brought her hand up to cup Michael's face "Michael..."

"Let me finish" he said taking her hand in his

"Then the shooting happened and after a while Max had you, the most amazing girl I had ever met…… When I read your journal, apart from finding out how much you loved Max at the time, I learned about you." Michael paused "I fell in love, with you"

Michael looked up to see Liz with a single tear sliding down her cheek. He gently wiped it away with his thumb before Liz leaned in and pressed her lips to his. Michael was surprised but returned the kiss with her arms ending up around his neck.

Michael and Liz abruptly pulled apart when someone began thumping on the back door "I…I should answer that" Liz whispered

"Lonnie!" Liz stated when she opened the door

"Hey" Lonnie said as Liz led her through the kitchen.

Liz introduced her to Michael before the three of them headed out to sit in a booth.

"Not that I'm complaining but when Tess and I said see you soon I was expecting you a few hours after we got home" Liz pointed out.

"I had to leave New York. I don't know what but something ain't right"

"Zan and Ava?" Liz asked

"And Rath. They were talking about….well I don't know. I heard Rath say that Courtney failed and a replacement was needed. I didn't trust em so I left"

"Courtney was here, she's a skin" Liz pointed out.

Liz looked up when she heard a knock on the door to the crash and looked up to see Max, Maria, Isabel and Alex waiting to be let inside.

"I'll warn you now" Liz began looking at Lonnie. "Did you ever see that episode of the Simpson’s where they’re at the cider place and Flanders shows up so homers brain leaves? That might happen now”

Lonnie and Michael chuckled as Liz got up to open the door.

Liz let the four of them inside and didn’t miss the confused look on Max’s face.

Max raised his hand and put a shield up between everyone and Lonnie.

“What are doing Maxwell?” Michael asked

“That’s not Isabel” He replied

“Whoah! Someone give the former king a prize for his observation skills” Liz scoffed “Lower the shield Max” Liz said

“She isn’t Isabel, she could be dangerous” Max argued

“Her name is Lonnie. I spent all summer with her and I am fine so lower the shield before you really piss me off” Liz stated getting in Max’s face

Max did as he was told and Liz resumed her seat next to Michael. “So, to what do I owe the pleasure of your company Max?”

“Courtney just skipped town very suspiciously. I called a meeting” Max began

“Of course she skipped town she is a skin” Liz said

“What? How do you know this?” Max asked with an even larger confused look on his face

“Ella did you tell the duke anything?” Lonnie asked with a chuckle

“Naah he went ape shit and left after he heard the story of that night”

“When we were all naked?” Lonnie laughed “Yo I think you better sit down duke” she pointed out

Max, Maria, Isabel and Alex all silently sat down and waited patiently for Liz to explain what was going on

“Well are you going to tell us what's going on?” Isabel snapped

“You was right Ella she is a bitch” Lonnie pointed out. Alex and Michael struggled to keep a straight face

Isabel opened her mouth to retort but Liz spoke first “So are Tess and Kyle coming?”

“I rang them” Maria began with a disgusted look on her face “They’ll be here soon”

“Well, I’ll get everyone a drink in the meantime then” Liz said “Then you can hear all about Rath Zan and Ava. And Lonnie of course”

Liz headed into the kitchen and began to get everyone a coke. A moment later Michael joined her

“I just realized something Parker”

“And what's that?”

“This night you got drunk… The guys name wasn’t Robert was it?”

“Uhh do you wanna get the tabasco sauce it’s the cupboard over there” Liz asked keeping her eyes focused on the drinks she was pouring”

“Liz…”

“Oh alright it was Rath. But like I said no one remembers how we wound up that way” She pointed out turning to face him

“Yeah sure. Just admit it, Parker. You couldn’t have him so now you’re going after the better looking one”

Liz scrunched her face up acting confused “I am not, he is still in New York” Liz joked picking up the tray of cokes and heading back out to the booth. Michael scoffed before following. Liz handed out the drinks and was sitting down when everyone heard “Lonnie!” from the door way

Tess ran up and hugged Lonnie before taking a seat, Kyle was with her and as he sat down Isabel huffed

“What is going on!” She demanded

Liz sighed “You guys are not the only set of the Antarian royal four. They scientists sent another set to New York, they are an extra 25 percent alien and they go by the names you had on Antar. As you can see they look exactly like you”

“And how do you know all this. How do we know we can trust you?” Isabel questioned scornfully

“I don’t give a fuck what you do Isabel. The people who matter trust me” Liz shot back

“What happened to you Liz?” Max whispered

“I spent the summer with some of my best friends and grew a spine. Maybe not to you but I have already explained this” Liz stated rolling her eyes.

Max sighed “I love you Liz, with all of my heart. And I want you to know I will still be in Love with you when you get over whatever phase you are going through”

“Phase, you think this is a phase?” Liz questioned angrily.

“Well, what is it then Liz? We are meant to be together and I know that what ever you are going through at the moment, that deep down you love me to” He said reaching out to place his hand over Liz’s

Liz felt Michael tense for split second beside her and she closed her eyes and forced her self to take deep breaths. From what sounded far away she heard Lonnie

“Ella calm down girl ya energy’s gonna go nuts”

Liz could now feel the energy flowing through her and tried to contain it. She shakily raised her hand towards the wall and sent a blast towards it. Everyone except Lonnie and Tess stared wide eyed at the large burn mark on the wall.

“Liz remember last time at the mine. You have to calm down” Tess stated

“You knew she had powers and didn’t tell me?” Max yelled “Liz, it’s okay” He whispered reaching out and placing his hand on her arm

Liz snapped her arm away from him as if she had been burned

“Liz just open your eyes I’ll fix it”

Max kept talking but Liz concentrated on calming her self down. She could feel tears trickling down her face, the energy was beginning to get painful.

“Ella just breath” Lonnie said “You keep ya hands off her” She ordered Max

“What? Don’t tell me what to do. Liz loves me if anyone can fix this I can” He yelled

Michael started rubbing Liz’s back in a soothing manor and after a few moments the anger he could feel radiating off her subsided and her breathing slowly returned to a normal pace.

“Michael… what did you do?” Max asked a little shocked

Liz opened her eyes and glared at Max “I don’t love you Max, I don’t think I ever did. And if you ever talk shit like that again, that will be you” Liz said shakily as she pointed to the burn mark on the wall.

“Chica don’t you think you are being a bit harsh. I know you, Max’s right you’ve loved him for like ever-”

“Get out” Liz hissed as she shook slightly

“Hey it’s ok” Michael whispered wrapping an arm around her shoulders. Liz leant into him and rested her head against his chest

“It hurts” she mumbled, her voice barely audible

“Michael what's going on with you two?” Max demanded

“Uh Max Liz asked you to leave” Alex pointed out

“Shut up Alex. Liz doesn’t know what she is saying” Max was getting angry

“I may not be an alien Max but I swear to god if I have to make you leave I will” Alex stated

“I second that” Kyle said

“Fine, we’ll leave. I’ll see you later Liz” Max said before he Isabel and Maria got up to leave

“Maxwell, it’s you that caused her to be like this, you’ll stay away from her” Michael warned

Max chuckled “What you think you share some sort of bond with her? Gimme a break” He laughed

Liz heard his laughter and felt her anger rising again “Michael has a better bond of

“Tess you little whore you’re mind warping her” Isabel stated

“Excuse me?” Tess said angrily

Isabel began to walk back towards the table with her hand raised but was stopped when Liz put up a shield still visibly shaking “I said get out” She yelled and slowly moved the shield forward. Max Isabel and Maria left and after a moment Tess turned to Liz.

“Does it hurt as much as before?”

“No I’ll be okay”

“Ok I am going to need an explanation” Michael pointed out

“It has something to do with the seal” Lonnie pointed out “She got like this once when Rath made a comment and then Ava pissed her off, we only just managed to get her to the mine so no one else would see her use her powers. Cept she didn’t have you to calm her down”

“What seal?” Michael asked

“The royal seal” Liz said as she laid her hand on the table her palm facing upwards. She sent a small amount of energy out of her hand and projected the seal for all of them to see.

“Did that happen when Max healed you?” Michael asked and Liz nodded. He thought for a moment

“Listen, will you be okay if I go home?” Michael asked “Tonight’s the night the social worker comes over and checks that I am taking care of my self.” He explained

“Yeah” Liz nodded and walked him to the back door “Thank you… For calming me down back there” Liz said

Michael pulled Liz into a hug.

“I’ll come over first thing tomorrow and see how you’re feeling okay?” Michael said, turning to leave. He turned back around and briefly kissed Liz before leaving.

"Okay" Liz said blushing as she closed the door

"You okay now Ella?" Lonnie asked

"Yeah, I just gotta work on my temper that's all. Lets head upstairs" Liz said and they all headed upstairs to Liz's bedroom where she began to unpack.

When it got dark Kyle and Alex went leaving Tess and Lonnie at Liz's. They were sitting on the balcony planning on getting Lonnie enrolled at school when someone began to climb the ladder.

"Michael?" Liz questioned when he climbed over the balcony.

Only it wasn't the Michael Liz knew. He looked...older.

"Who are you? Liz demanded raising her hand in the direction of the intruder

"I'm Michael...From the future" He said raising his hands up in surrender

"Ella tell me you ain’t buying this shit" Lonnie said from behind Liz

Liz looked at the future Michael and saw something familiar in his eyes. This Michael had obviously had a rough last couple of years and was definitely older but gazing into his eyes Liz felt he was telling the truth.

"What are you doing here?" Liz asked

"I have come to show you and only you the way to Antar"

"What? Why?" Liz asked, shocked

"There is a war happening on our planet. You have the royal seal and if you don't go to Antar and fight for what’s right, the final battle of the war will eventually be held here on earth. Many innocent lives will be taken" Future Michael explained

"I can't go to Antar" Liz stated

"You have to. Other wise” Michael grimaced before softening his voice “I have a sister on Antar...Had a sister. Do you know what they did to her in my time?” he paused “They captured her and kept her prisoner, raping her whenever a guard got bored. After torturing her for years and years they eventually killed her…In front of me" Future Michael explained as a tear trickled down his face

"I never even got to know Serena, and as if that isn’t bad enough I just watched you die" his voice became faint

Liz stayed silent for a while letting his words sink in before mumbling "How do I get there?"

"Whoah Ella you are actually going to go?" Tess asked, shocked

"You guys will have to make my parents think I went on a student exchange thing or something." Liz began speaking to both Tess and Lonnie "I know you guys don't like to mind warp so just use your powers to make some documents look believable"

"Okay" Tess

"You will need to use the granolith to get back to Antar" Michael began

"Wait won't that be dropping one of the most powerful objects right into Khivar’s lap?" Lonnie asked

"Liz has the seal, she is the only one who can operate the Granolith" he explained

"Let’s go" She mumbled before hugging Tess and Lonnie goodbye and climbing down her balcony with future Michael.

"Will I ever see you...Michael again?" Liz asked fearing the answer

"I think so. You could be on Antar for the rest of your life, you could be killed there, or you could return to Earth after a few months" Michael paused "Sorry if that was a bit blunt but you always told be to be straight with you"

Liz gave a small smile at the thought "Is there anything I should know before I get there?"

"Only the most important people on Antar were ever granted powers. Khivar was one of those people and he as used his powers to keep life on Antar at a very archaic state"

"How archaic?"

Michael thought for a moment "It's like a Robin hood movie. There are no cars, no guns, and very few houses. Mostly the people live in hut like tents. The fact the only about fifty people on Antar ever had powers made it extremely easy for Khivar to keep the people powerless" future Michael explained as they pulled up to a large rock.

"This is the granolith?" Liz asked

"Yes. It can be used as a weapon but only by a seal bearer who knows how. You are the seal bearer and you don't know how which is a good thing. The granolith way usually just used for when royalty had to travel between planets"

Liz nodded in understanding as a rock slid to the side revealing a cave.

"This is the pod chamber" Liz scoffed lifting her arm. However as she did this the pods moved aside revealing a spinning cone. Liz gasped

"The only other useful piece of information I can give is about what happened with your powers today when Max made you angry" Michael began "The seal is what gave you your powers but Liz, you have an amazing amount of inner strength waiting to get out. If you ever get that feeling again, don't try to block it out, embrace the power within"

Liz nodded again and took a deep breath. Something inside told her that she would need to place her hand on cone for it to work but before she did she turned back to future Michael.

"Just tell me one thing. Were we happy?"

"Before the war broke you were a molecular biologist. You were beautiful, successful, and your husband was very much in love" Future Michael pointed out, his voice becoming faint

“My husband?”

“You must go now. But for how ever long you are on Antar, don’t ever forget the people here on earth” Michael said as he took his necklace off his neck and placed it over Liz’s head. “These are my dog tags. Be safe” Future Michael whispered before kissing Liz on the fore head

Liz turned around and placed her hand on the spinning cone. There was a slight tugging sensation in her stomach as her body was sucked inside.

Liz looked down at the necklace tags now around her and noticed a ring. On closer inspection she realized it was a wedding band. Liz held it in her hand and looked at the inscription on the inside of the ring - Forever yours, Liz

Her head snapped up to see future Michael with a somber expression on his face. The cone turned a bright red color before the V constellation appeared in front of Liz. She took a moment to compose her thoughts before reaching out and touching the point of the V. Liz felt slightly light headed as the rocky cave that housed the granolith began to spin.

After a minute or two it began to slow down only Liz noticed that it wasn't the same cave she had just left. Liz found her self back outside the cone but as she turned to look at it she had a strange feeling in the pit of her stomach.

After a moment she raised her hand and waved it over the granolith. It soon disappeared leaving an ordinary pile of rocks.

Liz found the door and took a deep breath before placing her and upon it causing it to slide open.

Stepping out Liz took a moment observe what was going on, and once she realized what was going on she made her self heard.

“I’m afraid I can’t let you do that”

Part 10

Upon stepping out of the cave Liz noticed that on Antar the entrance to the granolith was underneath a rock over hang. After taking a few steps forward she saw a girl, about 11 years of age with light brown hair pulled back in a pony tail.

Creeping closer Liz watched as 5 men surrounded her and pointed bow and arrows at her. Liz crept even closer until she could hear what was going on.

"We have her surrounded sir Nicholas. What do you suppose we do with her?" One of the guards asked a rather important looking man who made his presence known only after the girl was surrounded

"It is hard to decide. As pleased as Lord Khivar will be that we have finally captured her, his thoughts are on the human referred to as Liz. Zan has informed him that he no longer bears the seal"

Holy shit Liz thought to herself knowing that she had to save this girl. Liz began to wonder how

"Shall we kill her Sir Nicholas?"

"No, take her to the torture chamber"

"I'm afraid I can't let you do that" Liz said making herself heard

"And who do you think you are?" Nicholas questioned with a smirk on his face

"My name is Ella" Liz stated defiantly

"And Ella do you honestly think you can stop us from taking this, this scum with us? My men here could put their bows down and still defeat you" he mocked

"I'd like to see them try"

"Very well. Men lower your weapons." Nicholas said with a smirk as the five of his men did as they were told "Kill her and bring the girl back with us" He ordered

Liz closed her eyes for a moment and remembered what future Michael had told her - Harness the energy if you ever feel like that again.

She opened her eyes and stood in a fighting stance before two of the guards ran towards her.

The first guard attacked from the right with the other attacking from the left. Liz leapt off the ground and spun in mid air kicking each of them hard in the head before dropping back down. The first two guards fell to the ground.

"Well, well, the infamous Khivar has armed forces in which a small female can knock out two guards with one simple maneuver." Liz taunted "Tsk tsk tsk I guess I am living proof that even being friends with a princess is better than serving Khivar" She said knowing that bad mouthing Khivar would piss them off

"Kill her!" Nicholas roared.

All three guards charged towards Liz. She managed to hold them off for a while but after about ten minutes Liz was hit twice in the face before one of them hit her so hard in the stomach that she went flying backwards towards the girl.

"Please be okay...I don't want to go with them" Liz heard the girl mumble as she tried to help her up

"Khivar is the greatest general Antar has ever seen" One of the guards spat

"You don't want to see what happened the last time I got this pissed off" Liz spat "Rath was the greatest general Antar has ever seen. And some day soon he will return"

"Rath is dead rumors of his love interest on a distant planet are simply that. Rumors."

Liz was about to retaliate when the younger girl beat her to it "She's right my brother was far better than Khivar ever will be!"

"Holy shit" Liz said out loud before realizing that all of the guards were now standing and were getting their bows ready "Serena run" Liz said grabbing her and pulling her into the near by forest.

Serena fell to the ground when she was shot in the leg with an arrow. Liz helped her up and pulled her behind a tree. She realized that the tree they were hiding behind was hollow and pulled them inside.

Liz quickly raised her hand to the opening in the tree and sealed them inside. Liz used her powers to create a small energy ball that glowed bright enough for them to be able to see.

Immediately Liz raised her finger to her lips gesturing for Serena to be quiet, however Liz saw that Serena was chewing her lip trying not to cry.

Liz looked down at Serena's leg and saw that the arrow had gone sideways through her calf. Liz remembered back to what Max had said about healing her and looked up into Serena's eyes.

Thankfully Liz managed to connect and concentrated on getting the arrow out of Serena's leg and healing her leg. Liz could feel the energy leaving her body and moments later breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing Serena's leg healed.

At least half an hour later when they were certain the guards were gone Liz unsealed the tree and they stepped out.

"Are you okay?" Liz asked

"I am fine now thank you.” She said throwing her arms around Liz’s waist. “You must be very important if you have powers like that" Serena said very quickly

"My real name is Liz, I just came from Earth. Zan was once in love with me and I was shot, by something a lot stronger than an arrow. When he saved my life he gave me powers" Liz explained attempting to wipe at some of the dried blood on her face

"Do you love Zan?" She asked excitedly

"I did, but I don't like him at all now. But you have to keep this a secret okay? Now where do you live, we can't stay here any longer they might send a search party after us"

"This way" Serena said taking Liz's hand "So should I call you Liz or Ella?"

"For now, Ella" Liz said smiling at how this girl's mood could change so quickly "Why were those men after you?"

"Because general Rath was my brother. I was telling people that when he died he was recreated on a far away planet. I’m sorry I made them angry by yelling but... Wait a minute if you are from Earth how do you know my name and how do you know about Rath and come to think of it where is earth?" Serena asked stopping dead in her tracks and scratching her eyebrow. It was the same way Michael scratched his eyebrow whenever he was thinking about something.

Liz stopped in front of Serena and bent over till they were face to face. "Because you are right, Rath was recreated on another planet far away from here called earth"

"He's alive?" Serena shrieked with a very wide smile on her face

"Yes, except he goes by the name of Michael" Liz said covering her ear "But you have to keep this a secret okay. At the moment he doesn't even know that you exist and its best no one here finds out he is alive"

"He doesn't know about me?" Serena asked. Her mood going from extremely happy to hurt in a matter of seconds.

Liz noticed this and squeezed Serena's hand "No, he doesn't know about you. But I promise first chance I get I will introduce you"

"Really?" Serena said sounding happy again.

"Yep as long as you keep everything about me having powers and about Rath a secret"

Serena gave a mock salute with her other hand before they continued walking. After another fifteen minutes of walking they arrived at a secluded part of the forest where three tents had been set up.

"Serena you’re alright!" Liz heard a female voice yell

Serena let go of Liz's hand and ran towards a woman in her early twenties. “Aunty Linda!” she yelled engulfing the woman in hug

“Serena who is this” Linda asked cautiously

“My name is Ella” Liz said sticking her hand out to shake Linda’s. Linda shook Liz’s hand as Serena launched into her story

“Sir Nicholas and his men had me cornered but Ella came and fought them off and saved me. She fights really, really good and she thinks Rath was better than Khivar” Serena said very quickly

“My goodness you are hurt” Linda stated ushering Liz inside one of the tents.

Linda began tending to Liz’s wounds “Where are you from Ella?”

“Not from anywhere near here” Liz winced as Linda wiped away some of the blood “Um Serena says she is Rath’s sister, does that make you his Aunty?” Liz questioned carefully

“Yes, it does. But please don’t listen to her when she says that he is alive. They were rumors she started-“

“Don’t worry about it, I only believe what I know is true” Liz cut her off

“I don’t know how long you plan on staying here but I just want to say thank you for saving Serena. After Khivar killed my sister and Areth we took her in and I wouldn’t be able to forgive my self if anything happened to her” Linda stated

“Well I would like to stay as long as you’ll have me” Liz said

“Of course, we shall set up another tent for you. I am sure Serena will be pleased. However we will need to train you in the fighting styles familiar to us. From what Serena rambled outside you are skilled but it will help be prepared when fighting Nicholas’s men” Linda explained and Liz nodded

“Are you staying Ella?” Serena asked hopefully when she entered the tent

"Of course I am. I have a promise to keep don’t forget" Liz said with a wink. Liz was then crushed as Serena ran up and hugged her
