Authors Note: This is my very first fanfic. I wasn’t sure if I should post it. So tell what you think.
Authors Note2: This story takes place after Departure after that I changed things. Michale and Maria only slightly dated.
In the past three years our lives have changed in several ways. I alone have changed in such a major way my own family would never know it was I should they pass me on the street.
Most people would be upset over the loss of family, and in the beginning we were. However we have learned the hard was that it is better this way. For us, and for them. In fact not knowing us at all is going to save their lives. In ways they could never possibly understand.
Since the day this all started we have had to watch so many die. Each day that passes I pray that I will never see someone I know from my past on the street. For even if they do not recognize us, we know who they are. Just knowing them will hurt them. Because when our enemies discover who they are they will take them. They have done it in the past, and they will do it again.
My name is Liz Parker. I am nineteen years old and have all ready seen more then any nineteen-year-old should ever have to see. I have learned more then any genius will ever learn at MIT. I have experienced more death and confusion then any child deserves to know. I know what it feels like to lose those close to you. To see them beg for mercy, that is never granted. To scream for help, knowing deep down that it will never arrive on time.
There is no way to explain what I am talking about than to go back to the beginning in order for you to understand. To understand we had to go on the run at such a young age. There is no other possible way. It is the only way I am able to explain to you the changes we were not only forced to make, but to except. Changes that people will never understand, unless those people have seen what we have seen. Most importantly those choices that we were forced to make will hopefully in the end save not only our lives, but also the lives of our friends, families, and our friends families.
Chapter one
It’s been a month now since that fateful day at the pod chamber. Michael knew that if it had not been for Marie, Kyle and Liz’s determination to stop them, Max, Isabel and he would be dead by the hands of Kivar. That’s what he has always admires about Liz, she has always had this strong will about her. No matter what Max put her through she always stood strong.
Even after the death of her best friend, Alex. Only he knew that despite what she showed in front of everyone, at night she would sit on the balcony and cry for Alex. Of course not even she knew about him. Every since the night of Alex’s death he could tell that she needed someone to stand by her. Since Max was in his own world with the witch, and Isabel, Marie and Kyle going through the same she had no one. From that time on he would go for walks at night and stand below her balcony listening to her, wanting desperately to climb the later that would take him to her. To be the one to comfort her, wrapping his arms around her as she cried.
He knew that he couldn’t. After all she was Max’s. Even after every thing she still seemed to belong to his best friend. The man who he looked at as a brother. No matter how much he loved her. After all he has loved her since grade school. However because of Max he refused to pursue her. Besides she always seemed to look at him as just friend. He feared that is all he ever would be.
Even now has stood below her balcony he could hear the muffled sounds of her tears. With each sound he found his heart breaking more and more. He knew that her grief had changed, for not only did she cry for Alex, but for Max as well. He didn’t understand how Max could expect this girl to just pick up were they left off. To act like that Tess never came to town. That the woman he got pregnant was not a murderer. Even he knew that was asking the impossible.
“Tell me Michael are you going to just stand there are you going to come up?” Liz said pulling him out of his thoughts.
Looking up he saw her starring at him with a slight smile. Without another word he proceeded to climb the latter leading to her. Upon reaching the top he watched as she turned from him with out saying a word and sat back on her chair. Even from his position on the ground he could still see the tracks on her cheeks caused by the tears she had just shed. Her eyes were red and puffy. But what amazed him was the way she smiled at him. The longer he stared at her the bigger her smile became and brighter her eyes shined. If it wasn’t for every thing else he would never known she was crying.
“How did you know I was there?” he asked looking down at his hands. He suddenly felt ashamed for being here.
“I have always known you were there, Michael.” She said as she came towards him. Seeing the confusion on his face she continued. “I have known about your nightly visits from day one. Each night I prayed you would come up, but you never did. Even though I could feel that you wanted to. I don’t know how to explain it to you. Ava did tell me that one time that I was changed. Maybe that is why. That means Kyle is as well right?”
“Liz you’re starting to ramble.” Michael said flashing his famous smirk, “Just tell me.”
“Ava once said that because of Max healing me that I was changed. For the past month I have been able to sense when someone is near. I can feel what they are feeling. The weird part is out of everyone you seem to come in the strongest. Maybe it is because…” she said trailing off.
“Because why?” What was she going to tell him?
“Never mind it wasn’t important.” Liz said standing up. “I’m glad you came Michael. Even if this is the first time you came up. It means a lot to me. You should probably go now though. It’s late and we both have to open in the morning.”
Nodding his head he stood up and looked down on her. Even after all this time he could never get over how small she was to him. Yet at the same time, so perfect. “Goodnight Liz” He said as he tucked a stray hair behind her ear. He loved the feel of it; it was always so soft like silk. With one last look he turned back towards the latter.
“Michael wait.” She called out.
Looking up he saw he was face to face with Liz. She was standing so close. As if in slow motion he watched as she leaned up and lightly brushed her lips against his. Her touch was soft and gentle. He could feel as she brushed her tongue along his lips asking for entrance. An entrance he willing gave. Pulling her even close he felt as she wrapped her arms around his neck also trying to get closer.
The taste of her was amazing. She was so sweet. He felt as if his legs were going to go out from under him. If some one had told him that he would be kissing Liz Parker tonight he would have laughed in their face. Yet here he was kissing the woman he has always loved. He knew he had to go but he just could not let her go. He was afraid that if he did he would never hold her again. As she pulled away from him he could feel the cold air, and he could not help but let out a slight whimper.
“Goodnight Michael” She said smiling up at him. “Sweet dreams.” And with that she was gone through her window.
As he walked back to his apartment he found himself actually whistling. He was ecstatic. Liz Parker had kissed him. He could not believe it. Tonight he was defiantly going to be having sweet dreams.
