Prologue

Liz and Maria sat at the airport, hand in hand and neither saying a thing to the other. It had been days since Max let Tess leave with his child and lets just say that things took a nasty turn.

'I made alot of mistakes but letting you into my life had not been one of them.' Max said as he held Liz to his chest.

Liz stood there, in his warm arms, just listening to what he had to say. He loved her. She knew that. He was sorry for what he'd done. She knew that too but the real question was if she was willing to forgive and forget.

"What do we do now Max? Isabel asked pullin Liz from her thoughts. Max slowly moves away from her and in front of everyone else.

'I have to save my son.'

The bitter rise of vomit clodged Liz's throat as she stood behind Max. He wasn't going to let this go. He was never going to let Tess go. He may say that he didn't love her and he may even want to believe it but it was there. Right there in the open. She couldn't fight that. She couldn't compete with that. She wouldn't. Max turned to Liz and smiled and it took all of her strength not to throw up on him.

'Lets go home.' Max reached for Liz only to have Liz move away from him.

"No."

"What?"

"No Max. I can't. I won't. Not, not after everything that has happened. Not after what you did?" There were tears in her eyes and in her voice. She was in a rock and a hard place and she didn't like it. Never had she felt so weak and used in her life.

"How can you say that?" Max snapped suddenly. So suddenly he made everyone around them jump.

"I don't wanna be with you anymore." Tears slipped from her eyes but she wasn't going to back down. She just wasn't.

"But we belong together." He choked. But not from saddness. "Remember? We make our own destinies?"

"And I'm making mine." Liz turned only to have Max grab her by the arm.

"I don't think so." And as suddenly as the grip was, so was the slap that hit her cheek a second later.

"Hey!" Maria and Isabel were by Liz's side in a second while Kyle and Michael were in front of Max, pushing him away from Liz. 'What the hell was that, Max?" Maria snapped. Then she looked at Liz. "Are you okay?"

Liz nodded her head as the tears fell from her eyes. This was it. You only hit her once.

"Bye Max." She pulled away from Isabel and walked away with Maria and Kyle by her side.

Max had called her that night to apologize for hitting her and the next day and the next. But Liz wouldn't listen to him. Eventually she just unplugged her phone and laid in her room until one day her parents came in and fixed it all with one question.

"You wanna go visit your aunt in Florida?"

And here she was. Liz held Maria's hand tighter. She was going to miss her best friend but staying in Roswell just wasn't an option any more. Too many memories clung here and she was in no state to deal with them.

"Flight 626, Santa Fe, New Mexico to Orlando, Florida is boarding right now." A loud speaker said right above the two friends.

"That's me." Liz said as she and Maria stood up. "I'm going to miss you."

"Girl, you're acting like you ain't coming back." Maria said with a smile on her face. Liz bit her lip. If she only knew. She thought to herself.

"I love you, Ria."

"And me you babe." They hugged one last time before Liz walked towards the flight attendant who was checking the plane tickets. Maria never knowing that this was the last time, she'd ever see her best friend again.

Chapter 1

5 years later

Liz shook the rain from her short black hair as soon as she walked into her studio. Rain. It was always rainning in Seattle but that was one of the reasons she picked it. It was the total opposite of Roswell. No aliens or tourist bullshit here, just the normal tourist bullshit but it helped her pay her rent. Liz smiled. Well the men help her pay the rent.

She walked over to her phone and pressed the answering machine button.

"You have 3 new messages." The voice on the answering machine told her. Oh goody. She thought as she took off her jacket and tossed it onto the couch.

"Message 1: 'Hey Liza, it's Jimmy. Thanks fa coming in tanite. I kno its ya nite off but da guys luv ya. Wut can I say? Well peace. See ya ass tamorra. Bye.'" Liz smiled. Yeah, they love me. Among otha things. Liz grabbed something that looked like pizza, smelt it but then tossed it into the garbage. Last thing I need is fa my ass ta get sick.

"Message 2: 'Hey Liz, it's Sam. I just called cause you told me to. I'm fine so don't worry. Bobby might call you but I doubt it. Nothing has been the same since....since you know and I'm in no mood to talk about it. Call you when I can. Love ya, bye.'"

Liz stood up and looked at the answering machine. Things hadn't been good for Sammy since Dean died and she was knew why. He loved Dean. He was his big brother. If Liz had older sibling then she would be the same way. Liz went back into the frig, looking for something, anything to eat.

"Message 3: 'Liz, its aunt Miley. Just wanted to make sure that your okay after what happened. Just call me okay." Sniffle. Liz couldn't help but roll her eyes. Her aunt swore that she had loved Dean. What a load of bull shit. She couldn't even stand him let alone like him. How the hell was she suppose to love him? She shrugged her shoulders. Whatever.

"End of messages."

"Finally." Liz shut the frig door with a small package of chinese food. She didn't know when was the last time she had chinese but it looked good and smelled even better, so she was eating it. She grabbed a fork and walked over to her tv. Tonight was gonna be a good night. She could feel it.

**************

"Sam it's really me." Dean said as he and Bobby walked into Sam's rather large motel room.

"Dean?" The brothers hugged for a minute before Sam pulled back and smiled. "Liz is not gonna believe this."

*************

Liz woke up to the ringing of a phone. Her cell probably. She searched around her bed for it only to realize that her cell had a music ring and the ringing she heard was that of a regular phone. Damn it. She thought to herself as she rolled off her bed. She walked into her living room with nothin but a black muscle shirt and her underwear. Who eva is calling is getting a piece of my mind.

"Hello?" She barked as she picked up her house phone.

"Liz?"

"Aunt Miley?" She groaned. She couldn't be mad at her aunt. "Wutz up?"

"Honey, I know this is hard for you but you can tell me how you're feeling." Liz rolled her eyes again. Her aunt just didn't now when to quit.

"Aunt Miley, I'm fine. Me and Dean didn't even like each otha."

"Liz, that's not what I'm talking about though I kno what I saw wheneva you two were alone." Liz shook her head. "What I'm talking about is your parents." That caught her attention.

"What about my parents?"

"Oh god, you dont even know." She heard her aunt sniffle.

"Know what?" Liz asked getting louder.

"Liz......how do I tell you this? Your parents were killed last night." She went into detail, but all Liz heard was the rain drops outside her window.

****************

3 Days Later

Liz stood in front of what she had once called home. The Crashdown Cafe. It was empty. No one in it. No one around it except for her. Liz glanced around. No one seemed to even notice. No one mourned. They all just went about their business, just doing whatever it is, that they had to do. Business as usual. Anger boiled underneath her skin. Damn Roswell. Damn Aliens. Damn-.

"Excuse me? Can I help you?" Liz didn't move. She knew that voice. And she knew that if she spoke, then this person would know who she was. So all she did was shake her head, praying to whoever the hell was above her that this person would just walk away but they didn't. Instead, they moved closer. "Miss, this place is closed."

"I know." She croaked out.

"Then why are you here?" The person asked. "Did you know the Parkers?"

"Yeah I did."

"Look, can I at least get your name so I can like get you a room at the motel or something?"

"That's alright Maria. I'm just gonna stay here." Liz hoped to god that her voice had changed cause there was no way she was going to be able to survive the questions she knew she was going to get.

'Excuse me. How do you know my name?" Maria snapped.

"Let's just say that I know a lot about the Parkers." Liz unlocked the doors to the cafe and turned only when she had the door shut closed. Realization hit Maria and she was mouthing something that Liz had no intension of reading. Quickly, she locked the doors and turned to go upstairs to the apartment. On her way there, she opened her cell and dailed her only known friend on the planet.

*******************

Sam and Dean sat in motel room, Dean at the table and Sam on the bed. Neither talking because of the little fight they had. Suddenly "Untouched' by the Veronicas came on.

"Dude, what the hell is that?" Dean huffed.

"Liz." Sam got up, ignoring the look Dean was giving him and picked up the phone. "Hey Liz......Wait a minute. You're where? I thought you said you weren't ever going there again.....What? We're coming." Sam close the phone and looked at Dean.

"What?"

"I'm going to Liz and you're coming!"

Chapter 2

2 Days Later

Liz stood in the funeral palor, in front of her parents' coffins. Two burials at once. It was something her mother always joked about. Sweetheart, i dont know what I'd do if your father was to die. Liz closed her eyes remembering her mother's words. It'll probably be a double burial cause I'd jump in right after him.

"Miss Parker, are you ready?" The palor director asked, pulling Liz from her memories. Liz turned to him and gave him a weak smile.

"As ready as I'll ever be." He nodded and walked away, no doubtingly opening the doors to let everyone in.

It had taken Liz a few days but she called everyone in her family. On both sides. Who eva was alive, she called. It had been hard calling her mother's parents cause they disowned her once she married Liz's dad but they had to know. They had to know that their baby girl was gone. Liz sniffled. She didn't know if she'd be able to survive this.

**********

Sam drove the impala through the small town Liz had describe to him in detail when they had been living together. Sam smiled. Liz had been his best friend the moment he met her. She actually introduced him to Jess. Said something about broading hearts always found one another. Then she would wink and whisper. Even if I had to do the walking and talking. But he thanked her every day until Jess died. Then it was Liz who he turned to after Jess died.

"Do you even know where we're going?" Dean snapped.

"Yeah. Liz texted me last night with the address." Sam turned his head and took a quick look at Dean. "Don't worry. We won't get lost."

"Oh what the fuck ever. It isn't like I even like this chick. You dragged me here, remember?" Sam smiled to himself just as he turned onto the street where Liz had told him the funeral palor would be.

"Sure!"

************

Liz stood by her parents' coffins, never leaving. Never turning. She had seen Maria walk in with 4 guys and a girl who looked alot like Isabel. And it wouldn't surprise her that 3 of the guys would be Max, Michael and Kyle. No it wouldn't but right now all that mattered was her parents and saying her good-byes. Liz wiped her eyes. It was funny. A week ago, she had thought that her job had been the worst thing in her life.

"Miss Parker, the priest is here." Liz nodded and walked over to the small couch that was for close family only. She sat alone as the priest walked to the front and began talking. God, where the hell is Sam? She thought to herself.

***********

Sam and Dean walked into the palor and asked the front desk attendant which room the Parkers would be in. With a huge smile and a bat of the eyes, she pointed to a door to the far end of the palor.

"Thank you sweetheart." Dean said and then he winked before they walked away from the woman.

"Do you always have to flirt with everything in a skirt?" Sam snapped as they came to the door.

"Hey, I just wanna get this over with. I don't plan on staying for long and the quicker we see Parker, the quicker we can get the hell out of here." Sam shook his head.

"You're an ass."

"What? Do you really think Parker is gonna be all sad and shit? No. She'll probably just be sitting with a scowl on her face, whining about missin work and her 'life' back home." Sam opened the door to a full room. Everyone turned to them. Especially Liz, who looked like death.

"Yeah a scowl right."

***********

Liz turned as soon as the door opened and thanked god when she saw that it was Sam and Dean. She jumped up and ran right into Sam's waiting arms, the tears falling from her eyes. She didn't care what anybody said or thought. All she cared about was her best friend standing in front of her.

"Thank you so much for coming." She whispered though her tears.

************

Sam shhhed her and led her over to where she had been sitting before. Dean followed behind him, watching the people in the room as they watched the two brothers. The 3 of them sat there and listened to the priest finish. When all was said and done, he actually asked Liz to stand up and greet everyone who came before they left.

"Their love will help with your pain." The priest whispered to her, then he was gone. Liz rolled her eyes.

"I'm suprised he didn't say that this was a good thing." Dean told them. That cause both Sam and Liz to look at him. "What? That's what they say. Along with they are now in a better place and you shouldn't mourn them today is a happy day."

"What. Are. You. Doing. Here?" Liz asked, saying every single word.

"Not now." Sam whispered into her hair. Then he turned her to the line of people who stood in front of them. "Greet the people."

"Fuck the people." Liz said before turning back into Sam's arms.

Chapter 3

"Fuck the people." Liz said as she turned into Sam's arms.

"Fuck the people? When did little Lizzie Parker get suck a potty mouth?" Liz rolled her eyes but turned anyway to see the owner of the voice. Just like she thought the guys with Maria and Isabel were Michael, Max and Kyle but who was the fourth guy?

"Little Lizzie Parker?" Dean chuckled. "That's a good one."

"So not the time." Sam said as he slapped Dean on the head.

"Hey."

"So what are you guys doing here?" Liz asked them, but she never left Sam's side. She stood comfortably in between Sam and Dean just in case anything was to go down.

"Could ask you the same question." Max snapped.

"Well that's a stupid question." Dean told him. "Those were her parents and she was their daughter. Why wouldn't she be here?"

"After 5 years of nothing, we didn't even think she knew who her parents were." Isabel snapped.

That made Sam want to laugh. "What are you talking about? The Parkers visited Liz all the time up in-eff." Sam doubled in pain from Liz's elbow.

"They visit you where, Liz?" Michael asked as he folded his arms in front of him. Liz slipped from Sam's arms as he rubbed his stomach.

"At my place, far, far away from here. Excuse me, Sam, Dean and I really have to go back home so that I can get everything ready for tomorrow. Dean," She turned to Dean and cocked her head. "Sam?" She gave him a 'i'm sorry' look then cocked her head towards the door just like she had down to Dean.

"Let's go." Sam told her. Liz smiled at him before walkin away only to be grabbed by the arm and pulled back.

"What the hell?" Both Dean and Sam looked as if they were going to kill Max.

"This isn't over." Max told her with fire in his eyes and for the first time in 5 years, Liz was scared beyond her wits.

"Let me go." Her voice came out in a croak.

"Where's the tough girl act, Liz?" He asked. "What? You think that just because you ran like a little girl, that you would be out? I don't think so."

No one so much as breathed at that very moment. Michael and Kyle both stood behind Max like good little soldiers while Isabel and Maria stood behind them. The only one who looked out of place was the fourth guy. The new guy. Liz pulled her arm but Max gripped tighter. He was going to leave a mark, she realized.

"Let go." Liz said through clenched teeth. Anger filled her voice. She wasn't going to be bullied. Not by Max.

"No." Something twitched towards the right of Liz and before she knew what or who it was, Dean had shoved Max off of her.

"I heard her tell you to let go twice, didn't you?" He asked in a joking tone but his look was anything but. That got both Michael and Kyle moving. "What? You can bully Liz around but you can't do the same to me?"

"Dean don't." Liz whispered. Unintenisionally, she grabbed his hand and pulled him back to her side.

"The last thing we want is a fight in a funeral palor." The new guy said.

"Then tell tight ass that. You touch Liz again, I'll break that hand of yours." Dean directed the last comment to Max who has yet to get up from the floor.

"Let's go Dean." Liz pleaded. Her eyes were actually watering when he looked into them, showin him that she wasn't as bed ass as she thought she was. "Please."

"Okay." He laced his fingers with her own and pulled their hands to his mouth. A soft kiss had her smiling and rollin her eyes while it made Sam's eyebrows rise. "Let's go." Then they were gone, leaving the Roswellians in the palor.

***********

Liz sat on her balcony with a cigerette in one hand and a bottle of Jack in the other. She had known today was going to be bad but she didn't think it would have been like that. She took a quick swig of the Jack, then a pull on the cigerette. God, if she'd been alone, Max would have probably bullied her into listening to what he had to say. Another swig. He probably would have gone as far as hitting her to listen to. Liz had gotten pretty stubborn and nothing would change that. No. She still had a life back in Seattle. She still had to pay rent and she still had to work at-.

"You okay?" Liz turned to see Sam in her window.

"Not really."

"You want company?"

"I would love that." Liz watched as Sam pulled himself out of the window and she couldn't help but smile. Sam's 6 ft 4 frame was probably the biggest that had ever came through that window of hers. Her smile grew. He was probably the only guy that tall to be in her room.

"What?" He asked as he stood to his huge height. He quickly rubbed his hands together to rid them of the dirt, then walked over to Liz, who was sitting on her lawn chair.

"Nothing. I was just thinking about how tall you are." She took a quick drag of her cigerette then tossed it over the edge before taking a swig of her Jack. "You want some."

"No." She shrugged her shoulders.

"Suit yourself."

Both sat on Liz's balcony lawn chair. Neither speaking but both in deep thought. Liz because of everything that was happening and Sam because of the things he learned today.

When he had first met Liz, she was a waitress at some dinner in Sacramento. Just passing through. She told him but she ended up staying until he was a sophomore in college. They had lived together for just two years, as friends and in that time, they had told each other everything.

Liz about the aliens and everything she had gone through. And Sam about everything that went bump in the middle of the night. Liz was probably the only girl who took that well. She simply shrugged her shoulders and said; Well with aliens being real, there was only a matter of time before I learned about demons, witches and ghosts. They had a good laugh about that so when Sam came here, he thought that things would be the way Liz had said they were. Wrong.

"So those were the friends you had before leaving?" He suddenly said. Liz chuckled. Most of the bottle in her hand gone.

"Yep. Those were them. Nice huh?" She smiled but it didn't reach her eyes like it usually did.

"I thought Dean was going to kill Max." Liz chuckled again but then stopped.

"How is Dean even here? I thought he like died a couple of months ago?" Sam took a deep breath.

"I totally forgot to tell you." Liz's eyebrow rose. "There just wasnt any time."

"Then tell me now. I aint got nuthin but time now." Liz said before finishing off the bottle.

Chapter 4

Liz sat in awe. "An angel?" She repeated.

"Yep. Guess God really does exsist." Sam shrugged his shoulders. "But from the way you pray, you probably already knew that."

Liz looked down at the ground. "I stopped praying a long time ago, Sam."

**********

The next day had been uneventful. The Roswellians had been smart enough to stay away from the burial. Thank god. Liz thought to herself as she, Sam and Dean walked into the Crashdown.

"So.... I hate to be an ass but are we still needed here or can we like leave?" Dean asked.

"Dean?" Sam said through clenched teeth.

"What? I'm sorry Liz, I really am but Sam, you and I still have a job to do."

"I know but-."

"No buts Sam. Dean's right. You go. I'm fine here. I just gotta call Jimmy and let him know that I'ma stay here a little longer."

"Wait. What?" Both Sam and Dean said at the same time.

"I'm gonna stay. I wanna make sure that everything is good before I go back home."

"But Liz, what about Max?" Sam asked and Dean's eyebrows rose.

"Max?"

"That guy who man handled Liz yesterday."

"What about him?" There was a crick in Dean's jaw as he remembered the look on Liz's face when that guy grabbed her arm. She looked totally vunerable. He'd never seen her like that before and something in him flipped out.

"That's her ex."

"What?!" Dean thundered. "You were with that asshole?"

Liz shook her head. "He wasn't always like that and I'm a big girl Sam. I can handle myself."

"Like hell. We're staying." Dean thundered making Liz jump.

"No you're not." She snapped.

"Yeah, we are. There is no way in hell that I'm going to leave you here alone so that asshole can beat on you."

"He only grabbed me yesterday and had only hit me once before. Stop acting like its a big thing."

"What? He hit you before."

The two continued to argue in the middle of the empty resturant while Sam just grabbed the things towns people had given Liz and walked out with a smile on his face. Suddenly something broke and Sam couldn't help but shake his head. Just like the old times.

***********

Liz threw another plate at Dean. Who the hell did he think he was getting mad like this? She went to grab another plate when she felt Dean right behind her.

"No way." He breathed into her ear as he held her hands on the counter.

"Let go of me Dean." Liz said through clenched teeth.

"No. Not until you stop throwing things at me." Dean went to move his face when he suddenly got a wiff of Liz's hair. Strawberries and vanilla. She still smell the same as she did when she had been on the road with them. He suddenly felt himself go stiff.

"Then let me go." She told him. "And I promise not to throw anything at you." She sounded nice enough but he still didn't trust her. Then there was the little, well big problem of him.

"Fine but whatever you do, don't turn arou-." Before he could finish, Liz turned and was face to face with him. His erection pushing into her stomach. Her eyes popped.

"I'm so sorry." She mumbled but she had no clue what to do. Yeah she had been in spots like this before but never with Dean. And she suddenly didn't know what to do. Her eyes were glued to it.

"Like what you see?" Dean asked, his voice huskier than she'd ever heard it before.

"Um," What was she going to say? Hell yeah. No way. She wasn't suppose to think of her best friend's brother like that.

"Have you always been this sexy before?" Liz tore her eyes from Dean's pants and to his eyes. Bad choice. His eyes were dark with lust and she was feeling them all the way down to her feet.

"I-." But she never got to finish her sentence cause Dean's lips came crashing down on her own.

On instinct, Liz's hands went to wrap around Dean's neck to pull him closer but instead, she used what little controll she had and kept the on his chest. Slowly, Dean skillfully coaxed Liz into opening her mouth by running his tongue across her lips. But it wasn't until she felt Dean's hands run down her sides and slip into her blouse that she moaned, opening her mouth.

God, he was fogging up her brain. She couldn't even think straight. Then suddenly his lips were gone only to be replaced on her cheek. Dean sucked his way down her neck until he found her pulse and if his hands weren't wrapped around her right now she would have fallen to the ground.

"Maybe we........shouldn't." She moaned but she knew Dean wasn't listening to her. Instead, he was marking her AND driving her insane. Against her own will, Liz's arm wrapped around Dean's neck, pulling him closer and closer. She was losing all her grip.....

"Guys, you done!" Sam yelled and both jumped apart before Sam walked into the cafe. "Look at this." He said as he looked at all the broken glass around the room.

"Well I'ma go upstairs and settle in since Sammy and I are staying." Dean said as he walked pass Sam but before he walked out, he turned and winked at Liz before walking out. Liz's eyes popped open. He was telling her to follow him. She realized. Should I follow him?

"You gonna help or leave me alone too?" Sam asked pulling her from her thoughts.

"No. I'm gonna stay here and help." Liz said as she started helping Sam pick up all the glass all the while still feeling Dean's mouth and hands on her.

*********

Outside, Max growled before turning away from the cafe and storming home. So Liz was fucking those guys. Well he was just going to have to fix that. He let her leave once, he wasn't going to let that happen again.

Chapter 5

Liz sat up the whole night on her balcony, with just a cigerette in her hand, just thinking. Not once had Dean said or done anything to her while she was on the road with him and Sam to indicate that he was into her. Yeah they fought and yelled but she hadn't thought anything of it. As a matter of fact, all she had been thinking at the time was how much she wanted to kill him. He always knew how to get under her skin and that pissed her off to the point where she just up and left to be on her own. That was when she went to Seattle. Her home. Liz smiled. God she missed her life.

A quick glance to her watch let her know that it was 2 in the morning. She'd be at work right now, shaking her ass like it was no body's business. The men loved her back home and sure she had the pick of the crop but there was always something that made her stop whenever something, anything became too emotional for her.

That's cause you were waiting for Dean. A voice suddenly told her.

"Yeah right." She mumbled to herself as she lit up another cigerette. Then Liz took it out of her mouth and let the smoke filter out of her nose. God I need help.

**********

The sun came up way to early the next day, falling onto Liz's balcony and onto her face before she even got the chance to cover her face. Damn, I fell asleep on the lawn chair. Liz thought as she stood up. All her bones seemed to crack as she stretched, the tension never leaving her body. Instead, it shifted from her back and stood on her feet making her want to just drop back onto that damn lawn chair but she had to get up. She just had to.

Grabbing what she had brought out, Liz slid back into her room and walked into her bathroom. A shower is what she needed. A nice and hot shower that would relax all her muscles. Yeah, that's what she needed.

*************

Sam listened to the shower turn on and he knew that Liz was up. Always the early bird when she never needed to be. Probably had to do with when she was young. Always up at the crack of dawn to be the perfect daughter. He'd always felt bad for her when they first met and when Liz had found out, she had told him that she sometimes felt bad too but then she would look at her life and just smile.

Fuck what others say and your life'll be amazing. Just look at mine.

Sam moaned as he rolled out of the bed in the guest room. Yeah her life was amazing alright. To the world, she didn't have a care but to those who really knew her, Liz was just running. From what, he still didn't know but he did know that being a dancer at one of the most high class places in Seattle was not something she had wanted to be growing up. Liz was running alright but Sam had the feeling that what ever she was running from, was catching up to her faster than she thought it would have.

*********

Max and the others stood in front of the Crashdown. Today they were going to find out all they had to about Sam, Dean and the new Liz who apparently was to good for any of them. With a wave of his hand, Max unlocked the front doors to the cafe and led the way in. He was going to protect his family no matter what. That he promised them.

********

"Liz, you done yet?" Sam called into LIz's room. The door to her room had been open but the door to the bathroom was locked. He could hear the shower on clearly and he hoped to god that she could hear him because seeing her naked was not something he wanted to see again!

"Love to see you whip it. Sure can teach you right. Give me just a minute or any time of night." Sam suddenly heard. Was Liz singing? He asked himself. No way.

"I know you into grooving, love your body language. Baby let me know, you got me sort of angust. SAm shook his head in shock. She was singing but what the hell was she singing?

"Let it whip. Whip it right. Let it whip. Whip it all night."

Sam covered his mouth as he listened to his best friend sing. She was pretty good at it too but it was still too funny. Crazy Liz Parker who said she only danced was now singing in her bathroom like she does it normally. Suddenly Liz was singing at the top of her lungs.

"There is no time to lose.Your the one I choose, your so right you cant see. Can't you see that I wont waste your time, I sense something divine, divine in you, yeah I do."

"Who the hell is that?" Dean asked with his mouth full. He walked in with a bowl filled with Capt'n Crunch and just sat on Liz's bed as if it was the most normal thing in the world to do. "Is that Parker?" He asked with a smile on his face.

"No." Sam lied but Dean could see that he was lying.

"Yeah it is."

"No it isn't."

"Yeah. Sammy, it is."

"Don't call me that and no, Dean, it isn't Liz singing."

"Let it whip. Whip it baby. Whip it right. Let it whip. Whip it baby-." Liz sang as she walked out of her bathroom in just a small white towel but as soon as she saw Dean and Sam, she stopped. Mid- song.

"Nice song Parker." Dean said and Liz felt her eyes pop. "Gotta say I didn't know you were one for whipping but I'm not gonna lie. Its hot." Suddenly Liz's entire face was red.

"Shut up, Dean." She said trying to play it off. "What are you doing in my room anyways?" She turned to Sam. "The both of you?"

"Thought there was a dying animal in here so I came to check it out. Turns out it was just you." Dean told her.

"Yeah, like I believe that. You came in here to what? Save a dying animal, with a bowl of cereal?" Liz snapped trying to be mean but the smile on her face just wouldn't let up.

"I just came in here cause Sammy took longer than he should have." Dean said shrugging his shoulders and filling his mouth with a spoonful of cereal. Liz turned to Sam who rolled his eyes.

"I was gone for a minute. I told you if I wasn't back in 5 minutes, then come and get me." Sam turned to Liz. "I just wanted to see if you wanted to join us for-." Suddenly, the room went silent. Dean stopped chewing, Sam stopped talking and Liz stopped smiling. The front door just opened and all 3 of them had heard it.

On instinct, Sam stood in front of Liz who held onto his arm for support, while Dean put his cereal bowl down and stood slowly off towards the side of the door. Whoever came in was going to get a face full of knuckles.

"Liz?" Someone called from the living room and Liz couldn't help but roll her brown eyes. "Liz, are you here?"

"Give me a minute Maria." She yelled out as she dropped her hand from Sam's arm. "Let me get dress. I have a feeling that she's not alone and that the shit is about to hit the fan."

Both Sam and Dean nodded as Liz grabbed clothes then turned and walked back into the bathroom. Her instincts never let them down before so if Liz said that the shit was about to hit the fan, then both Sam and Dean were ready.

Chapter 6

Liz quickly dressed her self and left the bathroom in just a pair of blue jean shorts and a black spaghetti strap top. She tossed a look at Sam and Dean who both looked like they were ready for a war.

"Guys, they probably just want to talk." She lied but she could tell that they didn't believe her. "Let's get this over with."

Liz walked out of the room, her hand in Sam's while Dean stood behind them. He was forever protecting them both, even now when he had no clue what they were up against. Niether she nor Sam had thought to tell him about aliens because she had any problem covering up her powers. Sam was probably regretting it now, as she was.

"Liz." It wasn't said with a smile or a nice greeting. It was said as more of a demand.

"Max." Liz said as she nodded at him. Then she looked at the others with him.

Michael and Isabel stood tall, both good little aliens for their brother while Maria and Kyle stood behind them. Perfect soldiers no doubt after what happened two days ago. But it was Max who made Liz just wanna run for cover.

He stood in front of them. A king in the making, or arriving. Liz couldn't tell because his eyes were on her hands instead of her face. He was staring at her hand in Sam's. Was he jealous? He shouldn't be.

With Sam. The little voice from last night told her. But Dean is a completely different subject.

"So nice of you to join us." Dean suddenly said, pulling Liz from her thoughts. "I've heard of people coming to give condolences. Hell I've seen people come to give condolences but never at ten in the morning and I've seen alot of death. Aint that right Sam?" He asked and Liz knew where he was going with this.

"Yeah it is. Never seen anyone come before noon." Sam said from her right.

"We're not like everyone else." Michael stated, his eyes harder than Liz's ever seen them.

"So I've heard." Sam told him. The roswellian's eyes all turned to Liz.

"You told him?" Max demanded.

"Of course. Him being my best friend and all."

Liz didnt know what it was. Maybe seeing Sam and Dean talk to Max and Michael like they were nothing had her feeling as if she could too? Or maybe she was just sick and tired of Max thinking he owned her? Who knows but here she was, Liz Parker, standing up to who she thought was the love of her life. She was herself again.

"Best friend?" Maria asked.

"Yep." Sam answered her but then he smiled a sad smile at her. "Sorry to take your place. She needed a friend and I was there."

"So she tells you and you fuck her?" Max snapped.

"Ew." Sam and Liz said at the same time while looking at each other. "No."

"Dude that is just nasty. They're like sisters. You gotta hear them. It's disgusting." Dean said as he shook his head. "Always said Sam was a chick but then here comes Liz and she shows that he really is Samantha instead of Samuel."

"Dean." Liz huffed while crossing her arms over her chest. "Just once would you shut up."

"Oh, so she tells him but fucks you." Michael demanded. Now it was Sam's turn to laugh.

"No way dude. They hate each other. You couldn't find a more opposite couple."

"But they are a couple?" Kyle demanded.

"NO!" Liz snapped. "What the hell? I can't just be friends with two guys? I gotta have fucked them both? What kind of girl do you think I am?"

"A str-." Liz slapped her hand over Dean's mouth before he could say anything else.

"Not a word Winchester." She said giving Dean a deadly look that had him smiling.

"As you can see, no couple." Sam told them.

"Whatever. We need to talk in private." Max snapped at Liz.

"No way in hell that'll ever happen." Liz told him. "Unless Sam comes."

"No."

"Then no talk. If Sam stays, then so do I."

"Then Michael comes." Max told her.

"Like I care. It's not like there is a fear of me beating your ass, now is there?" Liz told him, her hands crossing in front of her.

"Fine." Max said in a huff. Then he stormed out of the apartment with Michael right behind him. Liz turned to Sam and smiled.

"Let's go amigo." Then she turned to Dean. "You tell them one thing about me, any thing, and I kill you. Got that."

"Yeah. I'm so afraid." Dean said as he stood tall in front of her. "What are you going to do? Nag me to death?"

"No." Liz said as she walked over to him, tiptoeing so that no one else could hear her whisper in to his ear. "You tell them anything about me and I won't let you fuck me on my balcony." Then she stepped back to see his shocked face. "Got it?" She asked with a huge smile on her face.

"Got it." Dean told her in a totally serious voice.

"Good." Liz turned back to Sam. "Let's go Sammy."

Chapter 7

Liz and Sam followed behind Max and Michael both quiet and both waiting for what was about to happen. Though both had a good idea what was going to happen, neither voice it out loud. They just followed Max and Michael into the empty Crashdown and waited for someone to speak.

"Well, this is....Nice?" Liz looked to Sam for a better word. "No?"

"No." He said as he shook his head. "Unbelievably weird and uncomfortable, yeah. I'd even take distrubing but nice, no way." Sam joked but his eyes and body language said something completely different.

"Then leave if you want." Max snapped. "You weren't even invited."

"Like I said, Maxwell. If he aint here than neither am I. So say what you gotta sat before Sam and I walk out of here." Liz told him as she folded her arms over her chest.

"Fine." Max grounded out. Then he turned to Sam. "How much do you know?"

"Enough."

"What is enough?" Michael asked, his hands now on his hips instead of over his chest like he had them upstairs.

"Enough to know what you guys are and what I've become." Liz told them. "You happy now?"

"What you've become?" Michael asked before Max could and Liz could see Max's jaw clench.

"Yeah, like Ava said I'm different now. Aint no going back for me." Then Liz smiled up at Sam. "That and Sam helped whenever he could."

"What can you do?"

"The same as you only better." Liz told him as she looked back at Max and Michael. "Plus my own little gifts."

"Your own little gifts?" Michael asked, his tone more worried than mad.

"Yeah."

"Like what?" Liz watched as Max flexed his fists turning them red. He was pissed now but wait....

"Like this." Liz flicked her arms and suddenly they both lit up with a green flame that lit up the cafe. It was a good thing the windows were all closed or else everyone in town would have something else to say about little Lizzie Parker.

"Whoa." Both Max and Michael stepped back while Sam stood by her. "What the hell is that?"

"This is what I like to call my 'green anger'. Use to only happen whenever I was really pissed off."

"Or whenever you thought about Max, if I'm correct?" Sam said with a smirk.

"Yes you are." Then just like it was on, the green flame was gone.

"How did he find out?"

"Sam?" Liz asked Michael. When he nodded, she told him. "One night we got drunk and got into a bar fight. I lit up and Sam got me out of there. The next day we left town in an old car and never went back. Been my best friend ever since."

"What about Dean?" Max asked for the first time.

"What about him?"

"Does he know?"

"No and nor will he ever find out." Liz told them.

***************

Dean finished his cereal and stood in the living room with the other three people that had came with the ass and his second in command. They hadn't said anything to him nor did they ask him anything about Liz. All they did was stand by the kitchen, whispering to each other. What ever. He could care less about what they were talking about.

Dropping onto the couch, Dean turned on the tv and started flipping through the channels. It had been so long, if not forever, since he had watched anything on tv. He flipped through the channels until he spotted cartoons.

"Nice." He dropped the remote and watched until someone started clearing their throat. When Dean finally turned his head, he saw the blond chick Liz had pictures of around her apartment. What was her name? Mary. Margaret. "Maria." The chick looked shocked. So that was her name. "What do you want?"

"I just wanted to know how long you've known Liz?" She asked. She never moved from her spot on the other side of the couch.

"I aint gonna bit you." He told her.

"I know that."

"Then sit and relax. I'm nothing to be scared of." He told them all with looking away from Maria. When she dropped onto the couch, Dean smiled. "See, that wasn't so hard. Now what was the question?"

"How long have you known Liz?" She repeated.

"Three years now but Sam has known her longer." Dean turned away from Maria. He knew he shouldn't be talking but.... "I actually met her when I went looking for him."

"And you and Sam are what?" She asked.

"Brothers."

"So why did he leave?"

"To go to college."

"And that's where he met her?"

"Don't know." Lie. Dean knew. Sam had met Liz at some stupid resturant. He needed a place to stay and she needed a roommate. Been inseperable ever since. Even when Jess was alive, they had still been close but he wasn't going to tell her that. If Liz didn't tell her then there was a reason. Liz always did things for a reason and Dean was in no position to go against her. "You gotta ask Sam that."

"Ask me what?" Sam asked as he and Liz walked into the apartment and Dean had been more than relieved to see them to.

"Did you meet Liz at college?" Maria repeated and Dean had to give it to her. She had balls.

"Um," Sam turned to Liz as he scratched the back of his neck and laughed. "You can say that."

"But what would you say?" She pushed. And Dean watched in amusement as his brother squirmed in his spot next to Liz.

"I would say...."

"That yeah, we met in college. Anything else you wanna know about me Maria? I mean I am right here, so why don't you just ask me?" She hadn't meant to come off as bitchy and Dean could see that but something happened downstairs because neither the ass hole or his second had come up stairs yet.

"Just wanted to know where it was that you changed?" The short haird brunette chick snapped.

"Well you should know that, Isabel. I changed right around the time your friend killed my best friend." Then Liz stopped. "Or it was around the time Max slapped the shit out of me because I had different plans than the ones he had for me but either way, I changed when I was still here with you guys. Not on the road with Sam and Dean."

"She wasn't my friend and you know it!" Isabel yelled before storming out.

"Why would you bring Tess up?" The 3rd guy demanded.

"The same reason you guys tried to ambush Dean, then Sam, Kyle. Because I wanted to." LIz snapped.

"Fine, whatever. My condolences to your parents, Liz." He said before storming out after Isabel.

"Whether you changed with us or with them, I miss the Lizzie Parker who use to be my best friend." Maria said as she stood up from the couch.

"You didn't seem to miss her when you turned your back on me. Nor did you miss her when I told you there was no way that Max and I could ever be together again. I changed a long time ago Maria. I'm not the same naive little Lizzie Parker who you knew. Just like you're not the same caring Maria Deluca who put her best friends before a guy. I'm sorry but the old Liz Parker is gone."

"Too bad. She was really nice and actually care about those around her." With that, Maria was gone and the second the door closed, Liz crumbled to the floor in tears.

What the hell was Dean missing cause right now, as he watched Sam try and console Liz he was more lost than ever before in his life.

Chapter 8

Liz had never been so mad and so sad at the same time before in her life. Sure she had been mad at Max when she found out that he fucked Tess or when Dean would say something about the way she and Sam acted together. And yeah she'd been sad before like when her ex, Kevin, had walked out on her when she found out that they were going to be parents but she'd never been both mad and sad.

"Liz, you okay?" Sam asked from the other side of the door.

After breaking done in front of them, Liz had stormed off to her room and locked herself in there. 5 years of turning her life around. 5 years of teaching herself how to protect her heart. 5 years of being normal. Liz smiled. Well as normal as a hybrid human on the run from demons, aliens and everything else that wanted her.

"Dude, I think she's dead." She heard Dean joke.

"Not now Dean. Liz!"

"I'm fine Sam." Liz walked back into her bathroom, washed her face then grabbed a towel to dry it off while walking back into her room. When she was sure she loooked somewhat decent, she opened the door and let her two friends in.

"See, and you thought something bad happened to her." Dean said as he dropped onto Liz's bed. Liz and Sam threw looks at each other that went unnoticed by Dean.

"Are you okay?" Sam repeated. "For real."

"Yeah I'm okay. I could be better but what can you do after going through something like that." Liz said as she dropped down next to Dean, who wrapped his arm around her shoulders.

"Okay." Sam knelt down in front of her. "So what do you want to do today?"

She shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know. Maybe we should just-." Liz was cut off by the bell ringing. "Hold that thought." She said before jumping up and walking into the hallway.

Takin a quick glance at the clock, Liz noticed that it was already 1 o'clock in the afternoon. Damn, she must have been in her room for like 2 hours. She shook her head just as the bell rang again.

"I thought you were going to get the damn door, Liz." Dean joked. And Liz could hear Sam mumble something to him.

"Ass."

Liz smiled just as the bell rang again. "I'm coming." She opened the door and saw a tall man in her door way. "Can I help you?"

"May I please speak to Liz Parker?"

"May I ask who is asking?" She asked.

The man looked familiar. He was tall, about 5'11, 6 feet tall with short brown hair that sat softly on top of his head. He wore decent clothing that showed off his very nice body and very fit body. Liz dragged her eyes up his gray shirt covered chest and to perfectly round and full lips that just needed to be sucked on. Then there was those perfect cheeks and those intense gray eyes. She knew those eyes. It was-.

"Kevin Redford. I'm a friend of hers."

"Actually, I would have said the father of her unborn child." Sam snapped behind them.

*************************

"She's what?" Maria snapped.

"Liz has developed these...powers but she's still Liz." Michael explained as he ran his hand over his face.

"For how long?" Isabel asked.

"How do you know?"

"She told us Iz." Michael snapped.

"She could have been lying."

"No she couldn't of cause she has control over them. Especially over her own little... talent." Max said this time. " And she trusts Sam to the fullest. He hasn't said anything to anyone or else he would have been delt with."

"And Dean? What about him?" Kyle asked. He knew this was coming. They all should have known since he himself had been developing powers. It was only natural that Liz get them first, then him.

"He knows nothing."

"Did she at least tell you about her life?" Maria asked, gaining the attention of the entire room. "Like where she's been and everything?"

Michael scoffed. "Everywhere."

"What?"

"She's been everywhere." Michael repeated. "Liz said that she hadn't really stayed any place for to long without Sam. Said something about bad luck with men or whatever." Everyone looked at him. "What? She was mumbling and it was hard to hear everything she said."

Isabel shook her head. "So what? She's been living in a car with those two for 5 years now?"

"No. Remember, she said that she met Sam in college and Dean said that she has known Sam for 5 years. They must have met in college, lived together for two years until Dean came looking for Sam, then left."

"Why leave though?" Kyle asked. "What happened that had Liz pick up her life in college no less and leave to be on the road for god knows how long?"

"Maybe it wasn't something but someone?"

****************

"What are you doing here Kevin?" Liz asked ignoring Sam's outburst.

"Aunt Miley called. She told me what happened. Why didn't you tell me yourself?" He asked in a soft voice as he tried to wrap his arms around her.

"Cause I didn't know I had to." She snapped pushing him back. "And why would you care anyway? We're not together anymore. Remember?"

Kevin stepped back. "Liz, why are you acting like this?"

"Acting like what?"

"Like such a bitch. I'm here because I wanted to be here for you." He said getting mad.

"Lower your voice." Sam stated.

"Why should I?"

"Because I said so."

"Sam." Liz warned. She knew he wanted nothing more than to kill Kevin but she wasn't going to let that happen.

"What are you going to do about it?"

"Nothing." Liz told him. "Sam's going to do nothing to you because you, Kevin are leaving. Now go." Liz tried to push him out but he was way bigger than she was. Way bigger than he was 3 years ago.

"What? I leave and you two are fucking?" He suddenly asked.

"No. Just get out." Liz said a little louder.

"No. I wanna know. Are you two together now that me and Jess are out of the picture?" Liz caught Sam just before he got to the door. "Ah, soft spot that Jess of yours?"

"Shut up! Shut your fucking mouth!" Sam yelled and Liz knew that Dean heard him.

"Why you yelling Sammy?" He asked a second later as he walked into the livingroom. "What the hell is going on?" Dean watched as Liz held Sam away from some guy who stood by the open front door with a smile on his face. "Um, Liz?"

"Who the fuck is this?" Kevin snapped and Liz prayed that he didn't say something stupid. "You fucking him too?"

"Why does everyone think that you and Sam are going at it?" Dean asked.

"We've been best friends for 5 years and have lived together for 3 1/2 years. Our closeness is a little weird for those who dont know us." Liz explained to him for the hundredth time since she's known him.

"So you have been fucking Sam?"

"No! And you know that, asshole." Sam snapped as he pointed at Kevin.

"Sam, please. I'll deal with him." Liz told him. Sam looked down into her eyes and saw her fear. But it wasn't because of him beating the shit out of Kevin. It was because of what she had to tell him. The secret that made they had kept from even Dean who had been there.

"Fine." Sam turned to Dean. "Let's, um, let's go somewhere else."

Dean looked at him confused. "Okay." They walked out of the room, leaving Liz alone with her ex.

"Finally." He snapped.

"Why are you here?" She asked him again.

"I just wanted to make sure that you were okay." Kevin said more softly as he kicked the door close with his foot. "I just wanted to see you again. To feel you next to me. To be with you."

"It's too late for that."

"But we can be a family." He told her. "You, me and....the baby." He said wishfully.

"That's funny because you didn't want that before." Liz said as she wrapped her arms around her waist.

"Well I do now. 2 years with out you is too long. And plus my child needs a father in his or her life."

"But she has Sam." Liz sighed. "Or she would have, had she survived."

Chapter 9

"Well I do now. 2 years with out you is too long. And plus my child needs a father in his or her life."

"But she has Sam." Liz sighed. "Or she would have, had she survived."

Kevin bit back a comment as Liz's words settled over him. "The baby.....died?"

Liz looked at Kevin, then down at the floor. It had taken her 2 years to get over losing her daughter after holding her in her stomach for 5 months. Something had been wrong with her. She could just feel it. Plus the stress of the hunt and Dean didn't help but Liz had known it was deeper than that. So one day, she forced Sam to take her to the doctor and oh what a day that had been.

~Two years eariler~

"So doctor, can you please tell me what's wrong with me?" Liz asked as she and Sam sat in the doctor's small 8 by 10 room.

"It's not good, Mrs. Balbowa." The doctor's eye brow rose. "Is that really your last name?"

Liz put on the same face she used to lie to her parents. "Of course it is but I'm not married. Sam is just my friend."

"Well, we are open to all sorts of relationships but as a man of the lord-." Liz quickly cut him off while Sam rolled his eyes.

"Please, tell me about my child first. Then you can judge me all you want." The doctor opened his mouth to protest that that wasn't what he was doing but Liz gave him her best 'puppy' look. "Please."

"Okay fine. To put things nicely, your womb is just not suitable for a human life." Liz sat back in her chair.

"So what does this mean about the baby?" Sam asked. Liz could hear the fear in his voice.

"I'm sorry Mr. Balbowa, but the child will not come to full turn. Either we abort the dead fetuis or Ms. Balbowa gives birth to a still born." Liz looked at Sam.

"I don't wanna do that." Tears slipped from her eyes. "We have to do something."

"Maybe we should go to....." Sam looked at the doctor. "Can you give us some time?" The doctor nodded.

"Of course." He quickly got up and walked out of the room, closing the door behind him.

"Liz, maybe we should go to Max?" Liz shook her head. "He could save...." Sam choked on his words. "Amelia."

Again shook her head. "Its too late, Sam." She said, the tears falling from both their eyes. "She's gone. I can already feel it. I guess this is the final nail in the coffin of Liz and Kevin."

A tear had slipped from her eye before she could stop it. "Liz?"

Liz turned to Kevin with pain and anger in her eyes. "Yeah she did. Now please leave before I call Sam and Dean back in here."

Kevin turned slowly, as if to leave but then lunged at Liz. "YOU KILLED MY BABY!"

****************

Once Sam and Dean got out of hearing range of Liz and Kevin, Sam had to hold himself, not to go running back to beat the shit out of his once best buddy. How could he leave Liz after finding out that they were going to be parents? How could he not call her or see how she was doing? How could he be so stupid to think that Liz could handle him?

"Dude? Who was that?" Dean asked as he dropped onto the bed in the guest room.

"That was Liz's ex."

"Which one? I lose track of all the guys-."

"The one that made her come with us on the hunts." Sam said cutting his older brother off. Dean caught the anger coming off of Sam. It was practically knocking him over.

"What did he do?" Before Sam could answer him, they heard Kevin yell:

"YOU KILLED MY BABY!" Then Liz's strangle scream a second later.

"Help!"
