Liz and Max are at the center againof a tragic love story but hoepfully this time they'll get a much deserved happy ending.

Chapter 1
This was her sanctuary; the early morning hours before the sun peeked above the horizon, before the town roused from its slumber, it was only during these few precious moments that she was truly free from all the shackles that tied her down. In these moments she shed her human façade and let the beast roam unbridled, where not even the duties of the pack haunted her thoughts.
Run…Run…Run…
It was an instinct as old as time it self, that called to her and her kind, begging for its freedom. Urging her to let go and let the wolf roam free...
Run…Run…Run…
The wind whipped viciously through her chocolate locks, causing them to dance wildly behind her. Each step pounded hard and fast against the pavement, till all the world was a blur around her. Shapes and sounds blending effortlessly together into a single amorphous being.
Run…Run…Run…
The closer she reached her destination the wilder her pulse raced beating in time with the thumping chords of rhythm blaring in her ears. She inhaled soaking in the scents of the forest almost within her reach, basking in its rain splashed fragrance and moist earthy smells. Though it was only a small piece of untouched land it offered enough security to let the pack run safely, if only for a few effortless hours. She knew they all longed for the open countryside, a place where they could lose themselves for days in rich forest, but sadly there fate was sealed by their blood. Pushing away the conflicting emotions, she paused briefly at the forest’s entrance and sniffed the air. She easily picked up the normal scent of forest critters scurrying about, and also the faint traces of pack male (probably from last nights bon-fire), but other than that nothing out of the ordinary. Taking one final glance around Liz quickly stripped leaving behind a trail of clothing as she stepped into the forest’s welcoming embrace. Pushing forwards she let her limbs stretch out in front of her, allowing the change to ripple through her skin. It was only a fraction of a second before her body flipped; she lunged out a human girl and landed a forest creature.
Luscious obsidian fur replaced her golden skin, and her chocolate eyes burned a luminescent green. The scurrying of a wild marmot to her left caused her to jump slightly and glance back, the moonlight shimmering off her eyes, making them glow supernaturally, and then in a flash she was gone.
Too soon her moment ended, too soon she felt the suffocating leash pull tightly around her freedom, and once she stepped out of the darkness her naked limbs glistening in the early morning light, her world shifted back once again. Quietly she inched her way towards the back entrance of her home, attempting to sneak her way back into her room without alerting her family. A trick that was next to impossible considering her heritage, yet when she reached the stairs without a single sign of movement she involuntarily relaxed.
“Goodmornin sunshine…” a caustic voice filtered in from the kitchen, causing the hairs on the back of her neck to stand on end. ‘Shit’ she silently cursed and dashed up the stairs, slamming the door in her wake.
Finally secure in her room, Liz let her head thud lightly against the wood and cursed at herself once more for being caught of guard. Not that she was ashamed of her whereabouts or her nude state of being. Pack was rarely modest when it came to nudity since most were raised around nudity since before the flip, and after they were less affected by human sensibility urged further by the wolven blood that raced through their vein. No, instead what irked her was who the voice belonged to, that was the reason she fled in such a hurry, the hackles rising as she went. ‘well that was pointless…’, stepping away from her spot by the door she let her limbs relax and took a deep breath finally slowing down her racing pulse enough to get through her haze.
As she crossed the room she caught a glimpse of her reflection in the mirror, and she stopped to inspect her image. It still amazed her just how subtle yet drastic the changes to her appearance were since her flip. She was still tiny in comparison to the other pack females, however despite her size she was strong, far stronger than her appearance suggested. Her body was lean and firm, a well oiled machine built for speed and power. Golden olive skin now replaced her once milk and cream complexion, and her eyes and hair took on a few traits from her wolf form. Letting her fingers skim lightly over her bare flesh she thrilled in the sense of primal sexuality that she now exuded.
Where once she was shy and awkward, now she was confident and strong, a creature of hidden desire and raw power, born of the night and captivated by its beauty. Every male showed her interest, even the humans; a small smile graced her lips at the thought. ‘I wonder if they’d still be so interested when I’m ripping out their throats’ Of course that was something she’d never do, the pack was forbidden to hunt human’s and plus some of her best friends were of the human persuasion.
Stepping into the already running shower, she let the warm water soothe her weary bones, her day hadn’t even started and yet she was exhausted already. She knew what her role in the pack would one day be, and it seemed every new day only seemed to solidify the leash that bite into her neck. Her father was Alpha, and being that she was his eldest child it meant she would have to mate with the next inline for the position. A choice she dreaded with each passing day. There was only one man she could ever consider for the role, and as it was his status in the pack was even lower than a human’s, she knew it was a futile effort. ‘Damn pack law.’ Even so his image flashed before her eyes, and a shiver of lust race up her spine. ‘Max’ his name brushed past her lips in a silent prayer. He was an abomination by pack standards, both he and his twin sister were ostreisized because of what they were, Mestizo (Half-breed). It never mattered to her that he was a Mestizo, she saw what the others were always too blind to see, that he was special, same as Isabel. Both Evan’s children were strong and from their scent she could pick up something different about them, something rare. Yet the pack had very specific rules, rules that had governed them for centuries and that now with the changing times left them vulnerable and weak. It was either change with the time or fade into the past and she’d be damned if she let her people vanish like so many other mythical creatures, only to be remembered in stories and cliché horror movies.
A knock at her door roused her from her thoughts, and she popped her head out just in time to see her stepbrother creep in.
“What do you want Michael, can’t you see I’m kinda in the middle of something.” She growled low and menacingly.
“Easy there little sister no needs to get all jumpy…” he smirked as he devoured her naked silhouette contrasted against the light cream shower curtain. He licked his lips in wanton anticipation, “Want me to scrub your back for you.” He asked still leering at her form.
Another growl escaped her lips and she turned glowing green eyes towards him, “If you know what’s best for you, you’ll walk away now before I lose my patience dear brother.” Liz snarled once more baring her teeth in defiance. Michael growled once in response but ducked out all the same. Once she heard the door latch shut, she once again let herself relax, and finished getting ready for school.
Michael really was the least of her troubles, though they’d been raised together practically all their lives, and she considered him a brother of sorts, since her flip he’d been making his interest plainly obvious. He was in the running to be the next alpha, already he held that position among the younger pack and it was only a matter of time before he took his place. She couldn’t help but feel saddened at just how far apart they’d grown, since her flip.
Growing up they’d been as thick as thieves, her father had remarried as was pack law barely a year after her mother’s tragic death. Along with a new stepmother, both Liz and her twin Alex had also gained an older brother. Michael was only a year older, but he took his role as big brother to heart, especially when it came to Liz. That’s why it was so painful when his intentions drastically changed after her flip. But then again she never expected a lot of things that happened in her very short 16 years of life, none more so than the death of her mother when she was only a pup of 2. That of course was a path she did not want to revisit at this moment in time, so instead she grabbed her backpack and rather than deal with her family she hopped of her balcony, landing soundlessly on the lawn below. ‘Another typical day at Cedar Fall’s High, hooray…’ she grumbled under her breath as she walked to school.
PS...Alright guys let me know what you think should I continue?
