You don't have to move, you don't have to speak
lips for biting.
you're staring me down, a glance makes me weak
eyes for striking
now I'm twisting up when I'm twisted with you
brush so lightly

Fading sunlight trickled through the open window as the day came to an end. Liz looked over at the man who had captured her heart; she could feel the faint puff of air against her skin, a sign of steady breathing. The past few weeks had been hard on both of them; college decisions for Liz plus the fallout with her friends and his family over the revelation that they were together. It all faded into nothingness though, at this point in time, when they were together, nothing mattered.

Liz could still recall when it had all started, that night after prom. Her heart had been broken, shattered by illusions that had finally sharpened into reality. Max had never been hers, and if she had been honest with herself, Liz knew she had never belonged to him.

Things had been rough, and she had sought comfort in the presence of the only person who still saw her. Sean Deluca had been her rock, her salvation and her peace of mind when everything had become crazy.

Sean had stood by her when Alex was killed and although he had no idea of the full ramifications of the following months, he knew they had damaged Liz beyond what she thought was reparable. Until she had let him into her heart. Liz glanced down at his still slumbering form, and smiled softly, her thoughts drifting away again until her attention was drawn as he began to stir.

“Hey”

“Hey” Liz smiled softly at him as he rubbed his still sleepy eyes; hair ruffled from sleep and the curls sticking out in an unruly mass. “Did I wake you up?”

“No” murmured Sean as he pulled Liz’s soft body more snuggly to his own. He smiled as he inhaled the scent that was all Liz, “Besides, why would I want to sleep when I can wake up to you?” He leaned forward and kissed Liz softly on the lips, before sliding back down and lacing his fingers through hers.

and time trickles down, and I'm breathing for two
squeeze so tightly.
I'll be fine, you'll be fine.
this moment seems so long
don't waste now, precious time
we'll dance inside the song

“You’re such a sweet talker,” smiled Liz sleepily.

“I try…” Silence fell over the room, comfortable, secure, but not overpowering. “How long have you been awake?”

“A while, I wanted to watch you sleep”

“I’m sure I was such an interesting subject.” Sean buried his head in the crook of Liz’s neck, simply breathing her in and enjoying the time they had together. Today was the day they broke the news to everyone of where Liz was going to college and the fact that Sean was in fact going with her.

It still amused Sean of how the others took the news that he and Liz were together. It was like there was some unspoken rule to keep the fractured group together and no one else was allowed in.

Liz had broken that rule when she had let Sean into her heart. It had caused problems from the start with the friends, but Sean had never been more grateful to have anyone in his life as he was with Liz.

What makes the one to shake you down?
each touch belongs to each new sound
say now you want to shake me too
move down to me, slip into you

“You’re an amazingly interesting subject” whispered Liz as she traced the lines of Sean’s hand with her own fragile fingers. She rolled over to face him, tangling their legs together as bare skin pressed tightly to bare skin. “How did I live so long without you?”

Sean’s breath caught at the pure intensity in Liz’s baby brown eyes. The passion swimming in her depths nearly undid him. He still couldn’t understand how he had managed to capture her heart when he surely didn’t deserve it. “I can’t answer that when I don’t even my own answer.” Sean traced Liz’s features and fisted his hand in her hair, pulling her even closer.

She sinks in my mind as she sheds through her skin
touch like taste like fire
hands to know what eyes no longer defend
hands to fuel desire

Liz sighed as she leaned further into Sean. His kisses always overpowered her and the amazing thing was Liz knew it was all human passion. She didn’t have to worry about drowning in anything alien with him, worry about their attraction being anything but them.

Everything about Sean was powerful, whether he realized it or not and it sent a thrill through Liz when she could bring him to his knees over their love. Liz loved Sean with all her heart and she would never let him go, she would fight for what they had even if it included fighting her friends.

Breaking away she looked at him through hazy eyes but saw the smirk of male satisfaction none the less. “You think you’re pretty special there don’t you?”

“Damn right I’m special.” Sean chuckled as Liz swatted at him. He leaned in to whisper in her ear, “but only because I have you.”

I'll be fine, you'll be fine
this moment seems so long
don't waste now, precious time
we'll dance inside the song

“I love you Sean.” Liz snuggled further into the man next to her. “I love you and no one else.”

“I love you too, Liz, and one day, I’m going to ask you to marry me.” Sean stilled as he felt Liz tense in his arms. Was she not ready to hear that? Had he spoken to soon? Maybe she loved him but not enough to marry him, how could he be so stupid?

Liz stared at Sean as he got lost in his own world of self-doubt. She couldn’t believe he was worried for one second that she wouldn’t want to marry him, but his announcement had caught her off guard. Liz felt a tug at her heart as she saw concern and fear etched plainly across Sean’s features.

Sean had a hard life with no one ever really there for him. Maria had always looked down on him and Amy just didn’t see him for who he could truly be, who he truly was, a caring man with a heart of gold. “Sean” Liz cupped his face, forcing him to look at her as she propped herself on his chest. “Sean, look at me” Liz smiled softly when his blue eyes met her brown ones. “I love you so much and one day when you do ask, I can tell you the answer will be yes.”

“Yes?”

“Yes.”

Sean pulled Liz flush against his body, smiling against her lips as he kissed her breathless. He could feel the rhythmic pounding of her heart speed up and the intensity of her kisses escalate. Ripping his lips from hers, Sean looked into her darkened eyes, so filled with love for him. Panting he smirked slightly. “God I would love to stay here with you, but we do have other things to take care of.”

“Do we have to?” Liz pouted as Sean pulled away from her slightly.

“Yes, and if we don’t leave now, we won’t leave at all.”

“Would that be so bad?”

“No,” groaned Sean as Liz lay back against his sheets, beckoning him to reconsider with her eyes and her body. “Liz!”

“What?” Liz giggled at the pained expression on her lover’s face. “I’m sorry” she sobered. “I’ll be good”

“Thank you. I promise to make it up to you baby” Sean’s eyes held promise of later things and the glint in them really didn’t help his case to get Liz out of bed, but she did so regardless.

“There, I’m up, are you happy?”

Sean sobered suddenly, looking deep into her eyes. “Yes, yes, I am.”

Liz smiled gently at him “So am I.”
