Part 18 One week later

Max pulled into a parking spot in front of the Crashdown Cafe in Roswell at around four Friday afternoon.

"You ready for this?" Asked Liz
"Yeah. You sure they will like me?"
"Max, just be your charming self and everything will be OK."
"OK."

Max got out of the jeep and walked around to help Liz out. Liz looked through the window and could see that her father was watching. She saw him nod his approval. Max then reached into the back and grabbed both of their bags for the weekend. Liz lead the way into the diner and through her arms around her father.

"Hi daddy."
"Oh Lizzie I have missed you so much!" Said Jeff Parker
"I missed you too. Dad, I want you to meet my boyfriend Max Evans. Max, this is my father Jeff Parker." Said Liz
"It's nice to meet you Mr. Parker." Said Max sticking out his hand.
"Nice to meet you Max." Said Jeff
"Dad, you and mom know his mother. Diane Evans." Said Liz
"You're Diane's son?" Asked Jeff
"Yes sir. By the way she sends her regards." Said Max
"Liz may I speak to Max alone for a minute?" Asked Jeff
"Yeah."

Liz gave Max a kiss and sat down at the counter while her dad and Max when over to a booth. Max sat down across from Jeff.

"Max, how long have you been seeing my little girl?" Asked Jeff
"Three and a half months sir."
"Lizzie, told you that her mother and I adopted her?"
"Yes sir. She has been very honest with me."
"That is good. You know she must really care for you. Other then the boys she dated in high school, not that there were many you are the first she has brought home."
"Mr. Parker, I understand that. A couple weeks ago I asked Liz to have dinner with my parents. I had never done that before. Liz is a very special woman."
"Yes she is. But let me be clear, you will not have sex with her in my home, unless you put a ring on her finger. I'm not saying it will have to be a wedding ring. But you have to be at least engaged, a promise that you are committed to her."
"Mr. Parker, I repesct your rules. Liz, already informed me that this would be the case."
"Good. Now get Liz upstairs to see her mother."
"Yes sir."

Liz watched as the two men that she cared for most stood and shook hands. Liz smiled and walked over to them.

"Everything OK?" Asked Liz
"Yes. Now go see your mother young lady." Said Jeff
"Love you daddy."

Liz wrapped Jeff into a hug. Then led the way up to her parents apartment. They walked into the apartment to the sounds of an Elvis Costello song playing.

"Mom? I'm home!" Called out Liz

Max watched as a woman with red hair came out of one of the bedrooms and pulled Liz into a hug.

"Oh Liz, I missed you!"
"Missed you too mom. Mom I want you to meet my boyfriend Max Evans."
"It's nice to finally meet you Max. I'm Nancy Parker."
"It's nice to meet you Mrs. Parker. I want to tell you that you raised a great daughter." Said Max
"Kissing up won't change the fact you will not be sleeping in Elizabeth's room." Said Nancy

Liz let out a laugh as Max turned bright red right to the tip of his ears.

"It's OK Max, I think we can handle being apart at night." Said Liz

Grabbed Liz and started to tickle her. Nancy had to smile. It had been a long time since she had seen Liz this happy.

"Liz, why don't show Max to the guest room so he can get settled in. Then I want to talk to you alone." Said Nancy
"OK mom."

Liz showed Max to the guest room and then when to meet her mother in her room.

"Liz, honey sit down." Said Nancy
"Mom, I really don't want to talk about this with you."
"Honey, as much as I hate to admit it, you are not a little girl any more. I just want to know that if you are choosing to have sex that you are being safe."
"Mom, you don't have worry about me. You had me go on birth control when I was dating Sean."
"I know honey. But getting pregnant isn't the only thing that can happen."
"I know. I promise that I am being safe."
"Good."
"Mom, I love you. But the fact is I am not a kid any more. I have never felt anything like I do for Max."
"Are you saying that you are in love with him?"
"Yeah I think I am."

Nancy pulled Liz into a hug. She could only hope that the young man she just met never broke her daughter's heart.

Part 19

He had watched as she had walked into her father's restaurant with the guy he was sure she had finally spread her legs for. He may not have had the honor of being the first to fuck the prissy bitch. But he sure as hell was going to make sure he got what had been denied him for nearly six months while he dated her. He had watched from the curb across the street. He knew there was no way in hell he could step foot in the stupid diner. Her father ran him out the last time with a shot gun. That stupid bitch had to open her mouth and tell her parents that he tried to have sex with her. Then her friend had the nerve to kick him in his balls when he asked the slut for a fuck. It wasn't like she had been a virgin. She had been fucking that guy in the dump of a motel. He pulled away. He would come back later and that is when he would finally take what had been denied him so long ago.

Jeff Parker watched as the car that had been parked across the street pulled away. He could tell that someone was in the car and been watching the diner. He had to wonder if it was someone casing the place with plans of robbing the diner. He would make sure that the alarm he had installed the year before was turned on when the diner was closed. But right now he needed to get upstairs for dinner and to learn more about the young man that it seemed was winning the heart of his little girl. Jeff walked into the apartment to find Max helping to place dinner on the table. He looked at Liz who was bringing a salad into the dinning room and smiling. He when over to her and kissed her on top of her head.

"Big improvement over the DeLuca boy." He whispered in Liz's ear.
"Dad, just wait until you get to know him better. You might really like him." Said Liz
"Still can't sleep with you in this house."
"I know dad."

When they when to sit down Max pulled Liz's chair out and once she sat down pushed her in. He then when and took the seat across from her.

"So Max what are you studying in school?" Asked Jeff
"I'm pre law sir. I plan to become a lawyer like my parents." Said Max
"Very good. How do you feel about the possibility of having a wife that works outside the home?" Asked Jeff
"I am all for it. Both my parents work. Though when my sister and I were young my mom only worked part time so that she was there for us growing up."
"I see."
"Mr. Parker, I know that Liz wants to be a scientist. If we were to get to that point that she would give me the honor of calling her my wife, I would do everything in my power to help her make her dream come true."
"Dad, please stop questioning Max like this. He makes me happy." Said Liz
"Jeffery, Liz has a point. She is happier then I have seen her in a long time." Said Nancy
"Fine, but he better remember that if he hurts you Lizzie, he will pay." Said Jeff

After dinner Liz took Max out to her balcony to look at the stars.

"I loved sitting out here all through high school." Said Liz
"It's nice. Very peaceful."
"Yeah."
"So do you bring all your boyfriends out here?"
"No. You are the first."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Max, this is a very special place for me. I don't trust anyone near or in my bedroom."
"So when you dated Maria's cousin he never saw your bedroom?"
"Nope. Other then Michael, when I had the flu in high school and my dad asked him to bring me some juice and soup no guy has been in my room before today."
"That's good to know."

Liz smiled and pulled Max over to her and gave him a passionate kiss. After a few minutes Max pulled away.

"Sweetie, we really shouldn't start something we know we can't finish." Said Max
"You're right. We did promise my parents we would respect their rules. Though next time we are staying at a hotel."
"Or we could get engaged by then."
"Uh Max, not ready to go there yet."
"Liz, I'm sorry. I was just kidding. But the truth is that you are just the type of girl that I could see myself calling my wife."
"Before we even think about that stuff let's see if we are even still together in a year."
"Good idea. I love you Liz Parker."
"I love you Max Evans."

They stayed out watching the stars for the next hour unaware that someone from Liz's past was watching and waiting to make his move.

Great Chapters!!!! Please please please please please please please please come back and post more really really really really soon? I can't wait to read what will happen next for Max and Liz. I love how the Parkers are with Max. And how protective they are with Liz. I'm glad that Max and Liz are having some alone time together. I'm also glad that Jeff saw the car across the street. Hopefully Jeff will keep an eye for the car and try to keep Liz safe. I really really hate Sean! Death to Sean! Will Liz tell Max about Sean? Will Max and Jeff protect Liz? Will Max and Jeff be able to keep Liz safe?

Love this part........and I really liked the way the Parkers let their feelings and rules be known right up front. Liz is lucky to have parents that care about her that much.
I am concerned about Sean........looks like he may be causing trouble, sooner than later.

L-J-L 76 Jeff and Nancy are very protective of Liz. Jeff wanted to make sure that Max understood that while Liz is an adult legally and can make her own choices, he will not let them share a room in his home without a major commitment.

Eve Yes terror is on the way! There is still a chance that Max and Jeff can protect Liz.

Carolyn Liz is lucky to end up with parents that love her so much. Jeff and Nancy laid down the rules right from the start. Oh yes Sean will cause trouble, maybe much sooner then you think!



Part 20

Liz climbed into bed after turning out the light and saying goodnight to her parents and Max. She had been laying in bed for half an hour just starting to drift off to sleep when she felt someone climb on top of her and a hand clamp over her mouth. She could also feel the cold steel blade of a knife close to her throat. Then heard his cold voice.

"It's been a long time Parker. You still owe me something from when we use to go out. Oh how I wanted to be the first to fuck you. But you had to be a stubborn bitch. But a couple years later you go off to college and you turn into a nice little slut that is a lot more willing to spread her legs for a dick."

He eyes when wide in fear as she realized who it was. Her heart started to race knowing what he planned to do. She opened her mouth to try and scream for help but couldn't. She could do one thing though. She bit down as hard as she could causing him to lose his grip on her mouth. That is when she screamed.

"HELP!"

He recover quickly and hit her across the face. But that scream had been enough to bring both her father and Max running. He stabbed her with the knife right before he was tackled to the floor by Max. The light came on revealing the the face of Sean DeLuca. Nancy came in seconds later to find her daughter bleeding. Jeff grabbed the phone and called the sheriff and for ambulance. Max faught Sean for the knife finally knocking it out of his hand but not before he had been cut. Once the sheriff arrived Sean was arrested and taken away. Liz and Max were both placed in the ambulance and rushed to the hospital.

Two hours later Jeff and Nancy sat in the waiting room of the hospital. Max sat a few feet away a fresh bandage on his arm coving the stitches he got from being cut by Sean's knife. Liz had slipped unconscious right after being loaded into the ambulance. All three looked up when a couple came in.

"Mom? Dad?" Said Max

Diane pulled her son into her arms and held him.

"I can't lose her mom. I love her." Said Max
"Listen to me Maxwell, Liz is a fighter always has been." Said Diane
"Your mom is right Max." Said Nancy
"What do you mean?" Asked Max
"Sit down and we will tell you about the past Liz doesn't like to talk about." Said Jeff

Max sat down next the Parkers and his parents.

"Liz has been honest about the fact that she was adopted right?" Asked Nancy
"Yes." Said Max
"She was three almost four when she came into our lives. Her birth father was never in her life. Her birth mother had a long string of boyfriends. One of them beat her to death, and beat Liz very close to death. He when to prison. Liz was one when this happened. But spent two years in foster care. She was abused in one badly. When she came into our home she didn't trust anyone. She would cry when we tried to touch her. If she broke something she would run and hide. It took two months before she realized that we weren't going to hurt her. When she had been in our home six months we started the paperwork to adopt her." Said Nancy
"She never told me this." Said Max
"I know. Liz knows about her past but won't talk about it." Said Jeff
"She has been through so much." Said Max
"Yes she has." Agreed Jeff

Just then the doctor came out.

"Mr. And Mrs. Parker?"
"How is she doctor?" Asked Jeff
"We were able to stop the bleeding. But she did lose a lot of blood. The good news is nothing vidal was hit. She should make a complete recovery." Said the doctor
"When will you be able to see her?" Asked Nancy
"You and your husband can go in now. But I wouldn't let anyone else."
"I want her boyfriend to see her tonight. He is the reason that she didn't die or was raped." Said Jeff
"OK the young man may go in. But keep it short. I don't expect her to wake until sometime tomorrow."
"Thank you doctor." Said Nancy
