I nod at her words, sadly. "I know, Lonnie, but it was unfortunately a habit and one that I'm working on to break. I didn't hit you and I won't, you have nothing to fear on that front. I was just so upset about the whole situation that I wanted to hit something. It was just the past that made me raise my hand to you. I swear, Lon, I wasn't going to really do it. I know it'll take time to prove that to you but all I have for now is words and my promise."

I wave my hand as I take a bite of my food. "Let's change the subject to something more pleasant. Tell me, when would you like to go to Valentia? I'll arrange to get some time off and..." I trail off as I feel a flutter in the back of my brain. It's not painful, but it is something that I've never felt before. I try to concentrate on it, trying to figure out what it is...where it's coming from.

I make my way into the informal dining room and sit down in between Alex and my father. "Good morning, father, Alex," I tell them happily. "Isn't it a beautiful day?" I look over at Maria's chair and smile at the fact that she isn't here yet. Perhaps I should have checked to see if she needed my help to get to breakfast.

I grin as I glance out the window at the downpour outside and it shows no sign of letting up. "Oh, yes, absolutely picture perfect morning," I say teasingly, smiling at Alex. Liz doesn't seem to notice and I wonder what has gotten into her this morning. "I guess you slept well. I heard that Maria had a bit of an accident yesterday. Is she ok?"

I chuckle at my father's question. "Yes, I believe she just sprained her ankle, father. She should be just fine," I tell him, smiling up at the footman who holds out a platter of food to me.

Isabel

I have heard so many explanations,apologies and excuses from Kivar over the past few days that I don't know what is real and what is not anymore.They all seem to be running in to each other.I feel tired just hearing another apology and I smile at him weakly and take a bite of the food on my plate.It tastes rather blande to me for some reason and I reach for the salt and sprinkle some on.

I wasn't really paying attention to him but when he mentions Valentia I focus on the conversation once again,"...Tell me, when would you like to go to Valentia? I'll arrange to get some time off and..." I look at him suspiciously.Why did he trail off like that

"And??????" I question him "Are you okay?I don't mind leaving when Tess leaves.I can't wait to have a holiday.It's been ages.The last one I took I think was before I got married to you.I had gone to Reschvet for their summer harvest festival.Michael and his family showed Max and me a good time,but then they have always been very hospitable.I pity his poor mother,surrounded by five sons."

I know I am babbling but I can't help it.

After speaking to Maria,Max and I met up and were shown our rooms to freshen up and have dinner with the rest of the staff.Felt kind of weird to be eating with them instead of in the main dining hall but it was good to see what all goes on in the staff's dining area.

Post dinner I gratefully fell in to my bed and slept like a log until I heard a knock,"Hey sleepy head, you up yet?"
I groan in annoyance and cover my head with my pillow,"Go away Maxwell,when I need to see your ugly face I will come to you myself.Right now what I need is some more sleep."

I immediately open his door and go inside. "Get up Michael.... or I'll get Maria in here." I threaten him. "By the way could you have been any more unpleasant to the girl your meant to be protecting???"

Michael

I get up and glare at him.I'm so not in the mood for a lecture and just need a good cup of coffee with I start arguing with Max.

"Hah!" I swing my legs over the side of the bed "I am meant to be protecting Princess Elizabeth,if you recall your highness and not her overtalkative cousin.If you want to include her as part of the package then you do that but I am doing the job I volunteered for and doing it well I might add.Elizabeth and I get along just fine."

"Hah!"

He swings his leds out of bed.
"I am meant to be protecting Princess Elizabeth,if you recall your highness and not her overtalkative cousin.If you want to include her as part of the package then you do that but I am doing the job I volunteered for and doing it well I might add.Elizabeth and I get along just fine."

"Thanks Michael you're being reaaal helpful in me to try and get to know Princess Elizabeth! You could be useful and talk to Maria so I can talk to Liz but no... your too busy arguing with her. Why don't you just fulfill teh engagement for me!!!"

I move back to the door. "I'm going to breakfast" I tell him angrily as I walk out the door and walk down the hall.

Michael

I can't help but snicker hearing Max whine about Liz and me not talking to Maria so keep her occupied.He sounds like a schoolgirl with a crush.Ha ha,I am going to have so much of fun with this.

"...Why don't you just fulfill teh engagement for me!!!"

"I just might do that now that you are stepping aside.I like her a lot and we get along very well."

I step in to the bathroom quickly incase he decides to throw something at the back of my head.
"I'm going to breakfast" he says frostily and I expect him to bang the door shut but he doesn't.
I hum to myself while I shower quickly.Max put me in a good mood unknowingly.

Ten minutes later I make my way down to the staff's kitchen,grab a roll and a cup of coffee,downing both quickly.

I ignore Michael as he comes into the room. I don't know why he's being a jerk, I mean... he knows that this wedding is important to me because its important to the country. So him and his comment about marrying Liz is infuriating, bordering on friendship breaking.

So I sip my coffee ignoring him.
