Chapter 38:
As Max was driving to the hospital, he kept checking on Liz in the rearview mirror. When Max finally reached the hospital, he parked the car and pulled Liz towards him. When she was upright, Max put his arms under her neck and legs. He picked her up and carried her into the hospital. Once he was inside, Max asked for help. Two nurses at the front desk moved quickly and went to get him a wheelchair. Then they brought the wheelchair to him and set it down before him. They watched Max set Liz gently into the wheelchair. One of the nurses wheeled Liz away, and the other nurse moved nearer to Max and touched his arm. Max looked up and saw her.

"Sir, can you tell me what happened to her?" She asked.

"Um, she was standing near a car that blew up. She has been unconscious since then," Max said.

"What is her name? Has she been here before?" Nurse asked.

"Her name is Liz parker. Um, yes she has been here before. Liz was here when she got knocked out by something hidden inside a stuff animal," Max said.

"Ok. Come with me, please, and we can goand see how Miss Parker is doing," The nurse said.

She brought him to the nurse's station and she politely asked what room Miss Parker was in. When they found out what room she was in thry started to walk down the hallway to her room. When Max walked in, he saw that Liz was on a heart monitor. He walked up to Liz and touched her cheek. He was worried and scared for her. Max walked across the room and grabbed a chair. He set the chair next to her bed and sat down. A few minutes later, a doctor walked into the room. Max watched as the doctor walked up to Liz and checked her out. The doctor couldn't find anything wrong with her, so he couldn't figure out why Miss Parker just wouldn't wake up.

Max watched as the doctor walked out of the room. Max stood up and walked over to the window. He looked outside as he wondered when Liz would wake up. Max turned and looked at Liz. Hr thought that she looked like an angel when she was asleep. Then Max turned and looked and looked out the window again.

A few minutes later there was a knock on the door. Max walked up to the door and opened it. When he opened the door, he saw Jim and their friends standing in the doorway. He stepped aside and let them walk in the room. Max shut the door and turned to look at them.

"How is she?" Maria asked.

"Liz? She's good, but they can't figure out why she won't wake up," Max said.

"How long has she been like this?" Jim asked.

"She has been like this since the car blew up," Max said.

"You mean to tell us she has been sleep for six hours, and she still hasn't woke up yet?" Serena asked.

"Yes, that is what I am saying," Max said.

"Will you call us when she wakes up?" Isabel asked.

"I promise that as soon as she wakes up, I'll call you," Max said.

"Are you staying here?" Michael asked.

"Yeah, I hope you can handle Maria at the apartment alone," Max said.

"I'll handle Maria fine, but remember, you need to get some rest too," Michael said.

"I know. I'll get some rest after the doctor checks Liz one more time," Max said.

"Ok everyone it's time to go. We'll see you tomorrow ok?" Jim said.

"See you all tomorrow," Max said.

Max watched as Jim and his friends walked out the door. Max turned and looked at Liz. He reached down and pulled the blanket so that it could cover more of Liz's body. Then he sat down in the chair next to the bed. Max reached for the other blanket at the end of the bed, and he covered himself with it and closed his eyes. A few seconds later he was fast asleep.

Midnight:
Max felt something in his hair. He raised his hand and swat at it. When he put his hand down he felt something in his hair again. Then Max woke up and saw Liz looking at him. He stood up, and scooted closer to Liz with his chair. They both looked at each other.

"Hey," Liz said.

"Hey, yourself," Max said.

"Max, what am I doing here?" Liz asked.

"You were knocked out until now," Max said.

"Oh. What are you doing here?" Liz asked.

"I'm here to watch over you. God, I'm so glad that you're wake," Max said.

"I'm glad I woke up also. Thank you for being here for me," Liz said.

"I'll always be here if you need me too," Max said.

"Thank you for saying that," Liz said.

"Well, you know I mean it," Max said.

Max and Liz both stared at each other. Max bent down and gave Liz a gentle kiss on the lips. He was about to pull away when Liz pulled him back to her and kissed him. The kiss was filled with passion. After the kiss Max and Liz pulled away from each other.

"What was the kiss for?" Liz asked.

"I just anted to kiss you is all," Max said.

"Thank you. So, is Maria ok?" Liz asked.

"Yeah, she just got bruised," Max said.

"Good. I can't believe all that happened today," Liz said.

"Yeah, I know it is a lot. but at least you and Maria are a live and well," Max said.

"Yeah, that is true. When do you think I can get out of here?" Liz asked.

"Well, we have to wait and see what the doctor saya," Max said.

"I hope the doctor will let me go home today," Liz said.

"We'll find out shortly," Max said.

A few minutes later the doctor walked in the room and walked up to Liz. He checked Liz over and found that everything was fine. He looked up and saw Miss Parker and Mr. Evans looking at him.

"Is everything ok?" Liz asked.

"You are in good health. Everything is fine," The doctor said.

"When will she be able to go home?" Max said.

"She can go home today. I'll go get the papers for yu to sign," The doctor said as he looked at Liz.

Max and Liz turned and watched the doctor walk out the door. Max and Liz turned and looked at each other.

"I um, better get dressed," Liz said.

"Yeah, um, you better," Max said.

Liz sat up and slide off the bed. She stood up and walked to the closet. she grabbed her clothes and walked to the bathroom. While Liz was in the bathroom, Max reached in his pocket and pulled out his cell phone. Max started to call all their friends. He let the phone ring three times, but no one was answering their phones. Then Max dailed Jim's phone number, and he waited for Jim to answer his phone.

"Hello, this is Jim. How can I help you?" He asked.

"Jim, this is Max, Where is everyone? I got some news for them," Max said.

"They are all here waiting for you to call. Let me put you on speaker," Jim said.

A few minutes later Max could hear everything that was going on in Jim's office.

"Are you still there?" Jim asked.

"Yeah, I am still here. Is everyone there?" Max asked.

"Yeah, we're all here. What news do you have?" Maria asked.

Max turned and saw Liz standing in the door way in her underwear. Max and Lizboth smiled at each other as Liz walked up to him. Liz grabbed Max's cell phone away from him.

"Max, are you still there?" Jim asked.

"Yeah, he is still here," Liz said, as she turned away from Max.

"Who is this?" Jim asked.

"Jim, it's me Liz. Max has his tongue tied right now. So, wjat's up?" Liz asked.

"Why is Max's tongue tied?" Michael asked.

"Gee, Michael I don't know, but it could be because I'm standing here in my bra and panties," Liz said.

"What? Where the hell is your clothes?" Jim yelled.

"I don't know all I found was my bra and panties. Maria can yu please go to the apartment and get me some clothes to wear?" Liz asked.

"We're leaving now. Liz, so what did the doctor say?" Maria asked.

"He said I can go home today. I just got to fill out the paper work and wait for some clothes," Liz said.

Liz turned and saw Max looking out the window. She walked up to him and touched his shoulder. Max turned and looked at Liz.

"Max, what is it," Liz asked.

"Something doesn't feel right," Max said.

"What do you mean?" Liz asked.

"I've got a feeling something is wrong," Max said.

"What do you mean?" Liz asked.

"I don't know yet," Max said.

"That is just great. Something is not right and you don't know what to do yet," Liz yelled.

"Liz, you need to calm down," Max said.

"Max, you better think of something. I don't like this," Liz said.

Max grabbed the cell phone from Liz's hand. He pt the phone to his ear while looking at Liz.

"Jim, are you there?" Max asked.

"Yeah, I'm here. What is going on?" Jim asked.

"Something is off. I can't explain it but something is not right," Max said.

"What are you going to do?" Jim asked.

"I'm going to try and get Liz out of here. Tell Michael and Maria to meet us at the club," Max said.

"Ok. You both be careful. And let us know when you get to the club," Jim said.

"I'll call you when we get there. Jim, be on your gaurd," Max said.

"Ok. See you both at the club," Jim said.

"See you there," Max said.

Max looked up and saw Liz looking at him.

"Max, what are we going to do?" Liz asked.

"We're leaving, but first we need to get you in to one of the hospital gowns," Max said.

Liz and Max walked ovr to the dresser and stared to look for hiospital gowns. they both found two hospital gowns. Max handed Liz the gown he found. Liz put both of the gowns on and tied them. After she was dressed she turned and looked at Max. Max looked at Liz and saw she was scared.
Max bent down and reached for Liz's shoes that were under the bed. He walked up to liz and handed her the shoes. Liz put the shoes on, and looked at Max.

Ready to go?" Max said as he grabbed Her hand.

"Yeah, let's go," Liz said.

Max and Liz walked to the door. Max opened the door and Liz and hi walked out the door. They walked down the hall to where the nurse's station is. Max turned and looked at Liz. She looked at Max andsaw that he was a little worried. Max and Liz looked at the nurse's station and saw it was busy. They both looked at each othr and start to walk pass the nurse's station. When they were sure they were past the nurse's station, they started to walk quickly towards the door.

Max and Liz walked out the door and down the steps to Max's car. They both got in he car and drove out of the parking lot. Max and Liz both thought they were safe. They didn't see a car following them. Max notice there were no cars on the road. Liz turned and looked behind them. That is when she saw a black car speeding up to them.

"Oh, my god. It can't be," Liz whispered.

"What is it?" Max asked.

"Max, you need to go faster. We got some trouble behind us," Liz said.

"What kind of trouble?" Max asked.

"A black car speeding towards us," Liz said.

"Ok. you need to hang on," Max said as he went around a cornor.

Liz held on to the seat as Max speed around the cornor. Liz turned to see if the car was still behind them. She saw that the car was trying to pass them, and Max kept trying to speed up more. When the car was beside them it kept raming into them, nd Liz started to screaming. Max kept trying to pass the car but no luck. Max turned and looked at Liz. He saw Liz was scared.

"Liz,hold on," Max said.

"Max, I'm scared," Liz said.

"Liz, I know you're scared, but I promise I'll get us out of this okay," Max said.

"Ok," Liz said.

Max looked at the road and saw a ramp coming up. Max rammed his car into the other car. They stopped the car and watched the black car drive up the ramp and fall the the ground. As the car hit the ground it exploded. Max started the car and drove off. When they got to the club Max parked the car. Max and Liz got out of the car and ran up the steps to the club. When they got to the doors they found the doors unlocked. Max and Liz walked in the club and sw Jim and friends. Everyone turned and saw Max and Liz walk in. Maria and Serena ran up to Liz and gave her a hug. While Jim walked up to Max.


" Liz, are you ok?" Maria asked.

" Yeah, I'm fine. I just really need to change clothes," Liz said.

"Go upstairs to yur room and change clothes. We'll be waiting here for you," Serena said.

Liz ran up the stairs to her room. When she walked in the room; she went to her closet to find something to wear. A few seconds later Liz found a pair of hip hugging jeans and a tye - dye t-shirt to wear. She walked up to the bed and sat down. Liz changed her clothes and looked around the room. She walked up to her bedroom door and opened it. She walked out and stood at the top of the stairs watching her firends.

Meanwhile at the bar:
Max and Jim sat down and ordered a beer. A few seconds later the beer was infront of them.

"Jim, there is something you should know," Max said.

"What is it?" Jim asked.

"The doctor that check Liz over kept staring at her while I was asking questions. And then we get into a speeding car chase with a black car that kept trying to ram us off the road," Max said.

"That is weird," Jim said.

"I want to know what the hell is going on. Jim, do you know what is going on?" Max asked

Chapter 39:
Liz walked down the stairs and walked up to Jim and Max. She stood behind them and listened to what was being said. Then Liz tapped Jim on the shoulder. Jim and Max turned and looked at Liz.

"Jim, I need to talk to you alone," Liz said.

"Ok. Be back in a few minutes, Max,"Jim said as he stood up.

Jim and Liz walked to Liz's office. When they walked in Jim closed the door behind him. He turned and saw Liz sitting on her desk, and Jim walked up yo her desk and sat down in front of it.

"Liz, what is going on?" Jim asked.

"Jim, the black car that was ramming into Max's car belongs to Matt," Liz said

"Are you sure?" Jim asked.

Jim, I know that car and It was deinitely Matt's car. I just wonder who was driving it," Liz said.

"Who do you think it was?" Jim asked.

"I think it was someone from Matt's gang, but I don't know for sure," Liz said.

"Don't worry. I'll see if I can find out who they were through their dentel work,okay? Everything is going to be fine now," Jim said.

"How is everything going to be fine? I heardwhat Max asked you. What are we going to do?" Liz asked.

"I don't know. Maybe we should tell everyone what is going on?" Jim said.

"No. I don't want to put them in danger with this mess. I think they are safe by not telling them," Liz said.

"Liz, we will have to tell them soon," Jim said.

"I know we will. But I don't want tell our friends right now though," Liz said.

"Ok. I can understand that. Don't worry we'll find out who is behind this and put them in prison with Matt, Chris and Scott for life," Jim said.

"I hope you are right Jim. Because I'm really getting worried and scared here," Liz said.

"Don't be everything is going to be ok," Jim said.

"We better get out there before everyone wonders what is going on," Liz said.

"Yeah, we better," Jim said.

Liz and Jim both stood up and walked towards the door. Jim opened the door. They both walked out the door and went two seperate ways. Liz walked up to the stage as Jim walked to the bar.

When Jim was at the bar, he sat down and turned to look around. He saw Isabel and Tess talking to Alex and Kyle. He turned again and saw Max sitting on stage together. Jim saw that everyone was okay even though the events of the day had been hard.

From where Max and Liz were on the stage, they both turned and looked at each other. Liz then turned away from Max.

"Liz, are you ok?" Max asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just got a lot on my mind is all," Liz said.

"You know you can talk to me if you want," Max said.

"Max, you can't just talk things out and see if it helps. It won't help me," Liz said.

"Why can't I help you?" Max asked.

"Because we don't know each other well enough to talk about that," Liz said.

"Well I think we do know each other well enough to talk about it," Max said.

"No we don't. Max we don't know anything about each other. All I know about you is your Isabel's brother, a cop and a nice guy who needs a hair cut," Liz said.

"And I know you're Liz Parker a secretary at a police station and part owner of a club call the Crash Down. You're nice, caring and funny. I know you worry about your friends. And I know something has you scared, but I don't know what that could be," Max said.

"I can't tell you what has me scared right now," Liz said.

"Why can't you tell me?" Max asked.

"Because it is none of your business," Liz said.

"What if I want to make it my business?" Max asked.

"That is not up to you to decide; it's for me to decide," Liz said.

"Please let me know; I really hate that you won't tell me," Max said.

"That is right. I won't tell you," Liz said.

"Liz, what is going on with you?" Max asked.

"Nothing is going on with me Max," Liz said.

"I think there is something going on. Why won't you tell me?" Max said.

"Because I don't want to talk about," Liz said

"Fine be that way. How are you feeling?" Max asked.

"Besides being mad at you I'm fine," Liz said.

"Liz, I'm not trying to get you mad. I'm just trying to get you to talk to me," Max said.

"I know that Max. But right now I don't feel like talking about it," Liz said.

"I understand just know I'll be here if you need to talk to someone," Max said.

"Thanks. That is nice of you," Liz said.

"That's what I am here for," Max said.

"Yeah, right Max," Liz said.

"No, it's true," Max said.

"Whatever you say Max," Liz said

Max and Liz turned and looked around. Max turned and saw Michael walking towards them. When Michael got to the stage he looked at Max and Liz. Liz turned and looked at Michael and then Max.

"What is going on?" Liz asked.

"Nothing. I just wanted to know how long til we go home?" Michael asked.

"I say we leave now. We need to make sure that everything is safe at the girl's apartment. What do you say Michael?" Max asked.

"That sounds good to me," Michael said.

"Do you really think that they would go to our apartments?" Liz asked.

"You never know that is the thing," Michael said.

"Like we never know what is going on with you guys," Liz said.

"Hey! We are trying to keep you and the girls safe," Michael said.

"Whatever you say Michael," Liz said.

"Sop it right now. It is two am and everyone is tired. Let's all go home and get some sleep ok," Max said.

"Fine," Liz and Michael said at the same time.

"Good. Everyone let's all go home and get some sleep," Max yelled.

Everyone stood up and walked towards the door and walked out. When everyone was out Maria turned and locked the doors to the club. After the doors was locked Maria walked down the steps to where Liz was waiting for her. Everyone walked to their cars and unlocked the doors and got in the cars. They started their cars and all drove in different directions. When Max got to Liz and Maria's apartment building Max parked the car and everyone got out of the car. They walked up the steps to the apartment building's door.

Michael opened the door for Liz, Max, and Maria. Michael watched as they walked in. Michael walked in and shut the door behind him. They all walked up the stairs to the apartment. When they got to the apartment Max reached in his pocket and grabbed the apartment keys and pulled the keys out of his pocket. He unlocked the door and walked in. Max started to check the apartment when he walked in. After everything was checked out Max walked to the door and opened it.

Liz, Michael, and Maria walked in the apartment. Max shut the door after everyone walked into the apartment. Liz and Maria walked to their bedrooms and changed clothes while the guys were in the living room. A few minutes later Liz and Maria walked out of their rooms and walked in the living room. When they walked in the living room they saw the guys looking out the window.

"Why are you guys looking out the window?' Liz asked.

"I thought I saw the car outside," Max said.

"Max, the car blew up; we both saw it," Liz said.

"I know the car blew up, but I swear I saw it outside," Max said.

"Max, you must be seeing things," Maria said.

"Yeah, that could be true," Max said.

"Good night, Max and Michael," Liz and Maria said.

"Good night, girls," Max said.

Max and Michael watched as Liz and Maria walked out of the living room. Max and Michael both turned and looked at each other.

"Max, did you really see the black car?" Michael asked.

"Of course I did. Something is going on here and I plan to find out what it is," Max said.

"Max, you might not find anything," Michael said.

"I know but I want to at least try to see if there is anything," Max said.

"We beeter get to sleep or we won't be any good to anyone tomorrow," Michael said.

Max and Michael walked over to the couch nds took of the cushions off the couch. They pulled the bed out and sat down. Max and Michael pulled the blankets back and laid down. When they laid down they pulled the blankets over them. Max and Michael fell asleep a few minutes later.

In the morning:
Liz was in the kitchen making coffee when Max walked in. Liz turned and looked at Max, and Max looked at Liz as he sat down.

"How id you sleep Max?" Liz asked.

"I slept ok. What about you?" Max asked.

"I slept ok. So, do you have to work today?" Liz asked.

"Yeah, me and the other guys have got to go down to the station. What about you and the girls going to do?" Max asked.

"We'll probably go to the club and hang out there," Liz said.

"Is Bear and Teddy going to be at the club today?" Max asked.

"They should be there. We need to get everything set up for the girls' party in two days," Liz said.

"Wow the party is in two days. The days seem to be going quickly," Max said.

"I know the days seem to go by quickly. Oh, I wanted to let you know we're setting the upstairs for you guys," Liz said

"That is good to know. Do we have to take anything with us?" Max asked.

"I don't know yet. But I'll let you know if you do," Liz said.

"Ok. I better go wake up Michael," Max said.

"Yeah, and I've gotta get Maria up," Liz said.

Liz walked to Maria's room and opened the door. She saw Maria was awkae. Maria Turned and saw Liz standing in the doorway.

"What?" Maria asked.

"Come on, we need to go to the club and get ready for the girls' night party that is in two days," Liz said.

"Oh, yeah, we do need to do that," Maria said.

"I'll meet you in the living room; I need to get dressed first," Liz said.

"Ok. I'll be there shortly," Maria said.

Liz walked out of Maria's room and walked into her room. When Lixz got to her room she shut the door and walked over to her closet. She opened the closet door and started to look for something to wear. A few seconds later Liz found a pair of jean shorts and a white t- shirt to wear. Liz changed her clothes and walked towards her bedroom door. She opened the door and walked out of her room.

When she walked into the living room she saw Maria waiting for her. Liz walked up to her and tapped her on the shoulder. Maria turned and looked at Liz.

"Where are Max and Michael?" Maria asked.

"Probably still trying to get redy for work," Liz said.

"Yeah, they probably are. Max and Michael come out here, please?" Maria yelled.

Maria turned and looked at Liz. They both smiled when they heard two doors open and footsteps coming. They turned and saw Max and Michael standing in front of them with their mouths hanging open. Liz and Maria gave Max and Michael weird looks.

"Ok, guys, why are you staring at us?" Maria asked.

"Well, your clothes are a lot shorter then they usually are," Max said.

"We are wearing what we usually wear in the club," Liz said.

"This is what youwear in the club?" Michael asked.

"Yes, this is what we wer. Can we please drop it now?" Maria asked.

"Fine we will drop it. Come on, we better go," Michael said.

"Do you girls have everything you need?" Max asked.

"Yeah, let's go," Liz said.

Max and Michael walked to the living room table and grabbed their wallets and keys. They turned and sw Liz and Maria waiting for them by the door. Max and Michael walked up to Liz and Maria. Michael opened the door, and wantched Liz, Maz, and Maria walk past him. Michael locked the door as he closed it. They all walked sown the stairs to the apartment building door. Max opened the door and watched Liz, Michael and, Maria walk past him. Max shut the door, Max walked down the steps to where Liz, Michael, and Maria were waiting for him by his car. Max unlocked the doors and everyone got in the car. After everyone was in the car Max started the car and drove off.

Chapter 40:
When they got to the club, everyone got out of the car and walked towards the steps and went in the club. Max and Michael saw that the girls and the two bartenders were thewre already. Liz and Maria turned to face Max and Michael.

"Ok. You guys can leave now," Maria said sarcastically.

"Fine we will," Michael said.

"Liz, call us when your ready to go," Max said.

"You kow I will call," Liz said.

"Ok. Hopefully we will be here before you lcall," Max said.

"Yeah, hopefully. You guys be careful at the station," Liz said.

"We will. See you girls in a few," Max said.

Liz and Maria watched as Max and Michael walked out of the club and walked to the car; got in and drove off. Liz and Maria turned and looked at each other.

"So, are you ready for some fun?" Maria ssked.

"Yeah, let's do this," Liz said.

Come on. We need music to get us in the mood for fun," Maria said.

Liz walked over to the Cd player and turned it on. Liz looked at the cds on the table. She found a cd she liked. Liz picked up the cd and put it in the player. She pushed play and walked away. As the music played, Liz walked up to the bar and sat down. She asked for a bottle of water. A few
second later a bottle of water was infront of her. Liz twisted open the bottle and took a drink.

She set the bottle down and turned to look at her friends. She saw that they were laughing and having fun. Liz stood up and walked over to the girls. The girls turned and looked at Liz.

"Are you ready to clean?" Liz asked.

"Yeah, let's do this," Ava said.

Liz, Ava, and Maria went up the stairs to clean while the rest of the girls stayed down stairs. When Liz walked into one of the rooms she felt like she was being watched. Liz looked in the loset and under the bed and she saw no one was there. She walked up to the window and looked out. When Liz looked out the window she saw no one was there.

Liz started to clean the room. She made the bed, dusted, vaccumed, and cleaned the windows. When Liz walked out of the room she bumped into Maria and Ava. Ava and Maria looked at Liz.

"Did you girls get the feeling that someone was watching you when you went into a room?" Liz asked.

"No I didn't feeling anything. Why?" Maria asked.

"I just got the feeling I was being watched. What about you Ava did you feel like someone was watching you?" Liz asked.

"No. I didbn't feel like I was being watched," Ava said.

"Ok, now that is just weird," Maria said.

"How many rooms are left?" Ava asked.

"We've got three more rooms left," Liz said.

"What do we have to do after that?" Maria asked.

"After the rooms are done, we need to figure out where to set up the table for the guys," Liz said.

"We better finish up the rooms first. After we're done,e can decide where to put the table," Maria said.

Liz, Maria, and Ava did the three rooms together. They made the beds, vaccumed the carpet, dusted and even cleaned the windows. After they were finished cleaning the room, they met up in the hallway.

"Are we almost finished?" Maria asked.

"Yeah, all we have to do is have a table put in one of the rooms. After that we should be finished," Liz said.

"What room will the table be in?" Ava asked.

"I say Tess's room. She has the biggest room," Maria said.

"I agree with Maria," Liz and Ava said.

They all laughted when Liz and Ava spoke at the same time. After they finished were all finished they walked down the stairs. Liz and Ava walked up to one of the tables and grabbed it. They picked up the table and carried it up the stairs to Tess's room. When they walked in the room they set the table against the wall. After the table was against the wall Liz and Ava walked out of the room and into the hallway.

They walked down the hallway and down the stairs to the bar. When they got to the bar they asked for a bottle of water. A few seconds later there were two bottles of water in front of them. Liz and Ava twisted the tops and opened the bottles of water. They both took a drink of their water and set the bottlesdown on the bar. Liz and Ava walked up to the girls. The girls turned and looked at Liz and Ava.

"Is everything finished here?" Ava asked.

"Yeah, we finished a few minutes agao. What about you Liz, Ava, and Maria?" Isabel asked.

"We also finished a few minutes ago," Liz said.

"What is there left to do?" Tess asked.

"All that is left is to change the table cloth, curtains, and stock up on the beer for the night. We need one more table upstairs, two table cloths and some food and drinks for the guys," Liz said.

"We could do the rest of that tomorrow after work," Isabel said.

"That sounds good to me," Liz said.

"So, what do we do now?" Serena asked.

"Let's have some fun," Liz said.

Maria walked up to the CD player and turned the music up. Thwn she walked up to Liz and the girls. Liz turned and saw Maria standing next to her smiling. Liz turned and looked at the girls.

"Liz, what kind of fun are you talking about?" Ava asked.

"Dancing and having fun I say." Maria said.

"Do you girls all agree to that?" Liz asked.

"Hell yeah!" The girls said.

"Let's do it then," Liz said.

The girls walked up to the dance floor and started to dance. They were swaying there hips and twisting. The girls were all having fun. Liz stopped dancing and walked up to the bar and sat down. She watched as the girls danced and laughed. She turned and saw a beer in front of her. Liz grabbed the beer bottle and took a drink. After she took a drink she set the beer bottle down. She turned and looked at the girls. Liz saw that the girls were still dancing and having fun. Liz turned and grabbed her beer bottle and took another drink.

Meanwhile at the police station:
Max and the guys were working on some paperwork when Max got a weird feeling. He didn't know what was causing it, but he knew something was wrong. Max raised his head and looked around. He saw the guys were still working on the paperwork. Jim looked up and saw Max looking around. Max turned and saw Jim looking at him.

"Max, what is wrong?" Jim asked.

"I just got a feeling that we need to go to the club right now," Max said.

"Is ita bad feeling or a good feeling?" Alex asked

I don't know. But I want to go and check on the girls," Max said.

"Well, let's go check on the girls then," Jim said as he stood up.

Max and the guys stood up and followed Jim out of the office and the station. The guys got into two cars and drove off. When they got to the club's parking lot Max saw a black car in front of the club. Max looked between the car and the club. When Max and the guys got out of their cars, the black car drove off. Max and Jim ran up the steps to the club. They walked into the club and saw the girls looking at them. A few seconds later the rest of the guys walked in and looked between Max and Jim and the guys.

"What is wrong?" Liz asked.

"There was a black car sitting outside the club when we got here," Jim said.

"W....What?" Liz asked.

"Liz, I swear we saw a black car when we drove up," Max said.

"So what. That is nothing new," Tess said.

"What do you mean by that?" Max asked.

"I'm just saying a lot of people drive a black car Max," Tess said.

"Liz, can I talk to you in private now?" Max asked.

"I guess so," Liz said.

Max and Liz walked towards Liz's office. They walked in the office and shut the door. After the door was closed Max and Liz both turned and looked at each other.

"What do we need to talk about?" Liz asked.

"Did you know that the black car was out front?" Max asked.

"No. I swear I didn't know Max," Liz said.

"You know that it could be the same car that tried to run us off the road," Max said.

"Max, you saw that car blew up. There is no way that was the same black car," Liz said.

"I know I saw the car blow up but still doesn't explain why there was a black car here," Max said.

"Max, I don't know what to tell you. All I know is that we both saw the car blow up," Liz said.

"Who is or was driving the blck car? Liz, you know who it is; why won't you tell me?" Max said as he raised his voice.

"I don't know who is driving the black car," Liz yelled.

"I think you do know. Tell me who could the person be?" Max asked.

"I swear I don't know. If I did know I would tell you already," Liz yelled

"I don't think you would," Max said.

"I swear I would tell you," Liz said.

"Why do I think you won't tell me?" Max said, as he turned and looked at Liz.

Liz stood in front of Max. They both looked at each other.

"Max, I promise I will tell you if I know anything. Please trust me?" Liz asked.

"I don't know if I can trust you," Max said.

"Max, you know you can trust me," Liz said.

"Question: do you trust me Liz?' Max asked.

"Max, I'm trying to learn to trust how to trust you," Liz said.

"That is the same way I feel about trusting you," Max said.

Max and Liz stepped closer to each other. Max put his hands on her waist.

"Why do I have a feeling that there is going to be trouble around you?" Max asked.

"I don't know," Liz said.

Max and Liz both leaned in to kiss. The kiss was soft and tender. Then the kiss became more passinate. Max pulled Liz closer to him as they kissed, and he started to walk backwards with her to the couch. When her legs bumped into the side of the couch, they both lowered so that they were sitting on it, but still kissing. They layed back into the couch, side to side, kissing and touching each other.

A few minutes later there was a knock on the door. Max and Liz pulled away from each other when they heard the knocking.Max and Liz both stood up and fixed themselves before answering the door. Liz looked at Max before she walked over to the door. When Liz opened it, Jim was standing in the doorway. Liz step aside and let Jim walk into the office. After Jim walked into the office, she shut the door and turned and looked at Max and Jim.

Liz walked up to the couch and sat down. Max sat down at the chair in front of the desk. Jim walked up to the desk and sat down. Max and Liz looked up and saw Jim staring at the both of them.

"What is wrong Jim?" Liz asked.

"I want to know what is going on?" Jim asked.

"What do you mean Jim?" Max asked.

"I want to know why you both can't seem to get along?" Jim asked.

"Jim, we are both trying to get along. And we are also trying to trust each other and become friends," Max said.

"Good. It's good to have friends and trust for people who are trying to protect you," Jim said.

"Jim, we know that we need friends and trust for people. It just takes time
for it to happen," Liz said.

"I know it's hard. But the guys are here to keep you and the girls safe," Jim said.

"I know that. Max and I have even decided to try and be friends especially since he is suppose to protect me," Liz said.

"That's great. Um Liz did you and the girls notice the black caroutside?" Jim asked.

"No. We didn't notice the black car," Liz said.

"Did anything happen while you and the girls were here?" Jim asked.

"Yeah, Um something weird happened earlier," Liz said.

"What was the weird thing that happened?" Max asked carefully, never lifting his eyes from her face.

Chapter 41:
"Well," Liz began, "while I was upstairs cleaning one of the rooms, I felt someone watching me. So I walked over to the window and looked out."
she looked up and met Max's eyes. "No one was there," she explained"
that is when I walked out of the room and asked Maria and Ava if they felt like they were being watched. They both told me they didn't, and that put me at ease, so I finished cleaning and left the room," Liz said.

"Is that all that happened?" Max asked.

"Yeah, that's it. Nothing eles happened," Liz said.

"Jim, we need to put video camera facing the parking lot and the entrance
of the club," Max said.

"I agree with Max. Something is going on and I'm scared and worried for myself and for the girls," Liz said.

"Okay. We'll set the video cameras up tomorrow while everyone is at the station. Will that be ok with yu Liz?" Jim asked.

"Yes that will be fine. I think it is a great idea Jim," Liz said.

"Good now that we got that settled, is there anything eles to talk about?" Jim asked.

"Yeah, how did you guys know to come here? We didn't call you or anything," Liz said.

"I got a feeling that something was rong here atthe club so we got in the cars and drove here and that's when we saw the black car out front," Max said.

"So, you just got in your cars and drove here to check on us when you got a feeling some thing was wrong?" Liz asked.

"Yeah, that's what we did," Max said.

"But why, Max? What exactly did you feel?" Liz asked.

"Well we were worried about you and the girls. I felt as if you and the girls were in trouble, and we wanted to make sure that you were safe," Max said.

"Thanks for being so worried about us girls. You guys know we're safe now and in no danger, right?" Liz asked.

"Yeah , we know but it doesn't mean we don't worry about you anf the girls," Jim said.

The phone strted to ring. Liz stood up and walked to the desk. When she got to the desk she pushed the speaker phone.

"Hello, Liz is speaking. How may I help you?' Liz asked.

"How about a repeat of what happened in college sweet thing," the voice said.

Liz turned and looked at Max and Jim. Max and Jim looked at Liz as they walked up to her. They stood beside her as she turned and looked at the phone again.

"Who the hell is this?" Liz asked.

"You know who this is bitch," The voice said.

"It can't be. You guys are in prison," Liz said.

"Yes it can be. I just wanted to call and make sure that our boys are being
nice to you and your friends," Chris said.

"Your boys have been scaring us. I don't like being followed and watched by your so called boys," Liz said.

"Well, sweetheart it's going to be getting a lot worse then what it is right now," Chris said.

"Stop calling me sweetheart you asshole. Why are you guys doing this?" Liz asked as she raised her voice.

"We're doing this because you're the bitch who put us in prison! Where is that jackass Jim Valenti?" chris asked.

"I'm right here, you asshole. What the hell do you want?" Jim asked.

"I wanted to let you know you won't be able to protect Liz forever. When you least expect it Liz will be ours again," Chris said.

"I'll kill you before you touch or take , Liz, I swear to god," Max said.

"Ah, a new voice. Well whoever you are, you won't be able to save her. She will be ours once again," Chris said.

"Over our dead bodies, you asshole," Max and Jim both yelled.

"We will see about that," chris said.

"Yeah, we will see about that," Jim said.

"Lizzie, remember were always watching you and we know what you do," Chris said.

"Chris, you,Scott and Matt need to drop dead and leave me alone," Liz said.

"See you around sweetheart," Chris said before he hanged up the phone.

"Asshole. I hate that guy," Liz said as she pushed the off button on the speaker phone.

After Liz turned off the speaker phone she turned and looked at Max and Jim.Max ad Jim looked at Liz.

"God. Why do they keep calling? Why cn't they leave me alone?" Liz asked.

"Who knows why they keep caling. When we catch them in the act, they will be in prison forever, I promise," Jim said.

"I hope we catch the rest of them soon and keep them in prison," Liz said.

"You know we will," Jim said.

"Will one of you please tell me what is going on? And who the hell was that on the phone?" Max asked.

"Max, it has something to do Jim and my past. And that person that was on the phone was Chris," Liz said.

"Why is Chris calling you and scaring you?" Max asked.

"Chris is calling to remind me that he and the others are still here and are able to get me whenever they want," Liz said.

"What happened in your past?" Max asked, referring to both Jim and Liz.

"All I will say is that it was really bad. And they want to finish what they started," Jim said.

"What did they start?" Max asked.

"Something you don't reallyy want to know about," Liz said.

"Ok. Then what do they want to finish?" Max asked.

"We don't know. AndI really don't want to find out what it is they want to finish," Liz said.

"We ned to figure out how we are going to keep you safe from them,"Jim said.

"Jim, there maybe is no safe from them. Have you ever thought about that?" Liz asked.

"Yes I thought about that. But you still need to be safe," Jim said.

"Jim, do you relize what is going on?" Liz asked.

"What do you mean?" Jim asked.

"Jim, it's not just us that are in trouble. Max and our friends are now in trouble, because they have been watching us," Liz said.

"Liz don't worry we can handle ourselves," Max said.

"Max you don't understand. We're in trouble. And no one can handle what
Matt, Chris, Scott Clay nd his men will throw at you," Liz said.

"How do you know all of this Liz?" Max asked.

" I know all of this because Matt's my ex boyfriend. I knowall about the things they id. And I know what will they will do to get what they want," Liz said.

"What will they do?" Max asked.

"They will do anything to get what they want," Liz said.

"What do you mean anything?" Max asked.

" They will kill, kidnap, and run you over to get what they want," Liz said.

"Let me guess you are what they want. Am I right?" Max asked.

"Yeah, I'm the one they want," Liz said.

"We need to protect her and make sure that she stays safe," Jim said.

"Max, please promise you won't tell the others about what we say in this office?" Liz asked.

"Fine, I won't tell a person. And I agree with Jim; you need to be protected, Liz," Max said.

"That is why I've assigned you to protect her, Max," Jim said.

"Oh that is great," Max said.

"Um question who's going to be putting the video cameas in?" Liz asked.

"That will be Alex and Michael. I should go get them. Be back in 5 minutes," Jim said as he stood up.

Jim walked to the door and opened it. When the door was opened Jim walked out the door. Jim shut the door and started to look around for Alex and Michael. He walked up walked up to them and tapped them on the shoulder. Alex and Michael turned and looked at Jim.

"Jim what is it?" Alex asked.

"I need you and Michael to come with me. We need to talk," Jim said.

"Talk about what?" Michael asked.

"You'll find out when we get to the office," Jim said.

Alex and Michael stood up and followed Jim to the office. When they walked into the office they saw Max standing in front of the window looking out. They turned and saw Liz sitting on the couch looking at her hands. Jim turned and shut the door. After the door was shut Jim looked at both L;iz and Max.

"What is going on?' Michael asked.

Max turned and looked at Michael and Alex. Liz looked up at Alex and Michael.

" We need you and Alex to put video cameras in the club," Liz said.

"where to you need the video cameras?" Alex asked

"One inside of the club, office, dressing rooms, our rooms, and one outside the parking lot and on the porch. Do you think you can do this?" Liz asked.

"Yeah, we can do this. When do you want us to start?" Michael asked.

"Tomorrow while we are at work. Is that ok with the both of you?" Liz asked.

"That is good for us. Are you ok, Liz?" Alex asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine with it. I just want to make sure everything is safe for us while we're here," Liz said.

"You know it will be safe," Max said.

"Yeah I know I will be safe. But we need double our safety," Liz said.

"Why do we need to double our safety?" Michael asked.

"Um, it seems that Liz and the girls are um, being watched where ever they are," Max said.

"Does this mean we need to have video cameras in the apartment and the station?" Alex asked.

"No it means we will be camping on the girls floor for the nights. And as for the station we'll be with them where ever they go," Max said.

"You know the girls won't like this," Michael said.

"Yeah, we know but you guys need to protect the girls at all cost," Jim said.

"So, when do we start this double protection?" Alex asked.

"We start right now. All we gotta do is tell the girls," Jim said.

Liz stood up and walked over to the desk and sat down. She saw that Jim and the guys were not watching her. Liz reached behind her and turned on the intercom. After the intercom was turned on Liz put her hands in her lap and looked at the guys.

Meanwhile in the club:
Everyone could over hear the voices from Liz's office. They stopped and listened to what was being said.

"How are you guys planing to tell the girls?' Liz asked.

"We're not sure yet," Michael said.

"Great, you don't know how to tell the girls your going to what is it are you guys going to do?" Liz asked.

"We are going to tell the girls we need them to be more safe. Tell them about the video cameras being in the club, and that we are camping on their bed rooms floor. And we are also working with them in their offices. How hard can that be?" Michael asked.

"You guys will be surprised at what the girls will do," Liz said.

"Hopefully they won't get mad. They will be upset a little is all," Liz said.

"How do you know how they will react?" Alex asked.

"The reason why I know how the girls will react is because I know them," Liz said.

"So, how do we tell them what is going on?" Max asked.

"You just told us," Isabel said.

Liz and the guys turned and looked at Isabel and the girls as they came in.

"How did you girls know what we are talking about?' Alex asked.

"Liz, thanks for letting us know," Ava said sarcastically.

"No problem," Liz said coolly, but then she added, " I thought it was Time fot you to know."

"I understand. So are you girls ok with video cameras being in the club? And about the guys sleeping on the floor in your rooms?' Jim asked.

"Let us think about it before we tell you our answer," Tess said.

"How long do you and the girls want to think about it?" Max asked.

"We'll let you guys know tonight. We all can meet here after the club closes and talk about it," Serena said.

"Sounds good to me. What about you Jim and Max?' Michael asked.

"Yeah, that sounds good to us," Jim and Max said.

"Are you guys staying here or are you going back to the station?" Maria asked.

"We are going to stay here. But we will staying in here working on somefiles. Is that ok with you girls?" Jim asked.

"That is fine with us," Isabel said.

"Alex, you and Max go back to the station and get teo boxes of the files to work on," Jim said.

"Ok. We will be right back in a few minutes," Alex said.

Max and Alex walked out the office and out of the club. They walked down the steps to Max's car. They both got in the car and drove off.

Meanwhile in the club:
Liz and the girls walked out of the office and into the club. They started to move things around. Jim, Michael and the guys walked to the office door way and watched while the girls moved things around. A few minutes later Max and Alex walked in the club. They saw Liz and the girls sitting down and drinking beer. Jim turned and saw the guys at the bar. Jim walked up to the guys and tapped them on the shoulder. Jim points to the office. All the guys stood up and walked in the office. When they walked in the office Jim shut the door. The guys sat down and started to work on the files.

A few hours later Jim and the guys heard a knock on the door.

"Come in," Jim yelled.

Jim and the guys looked up and watched the door open. They saw Liz step in the office and shut the door behind her. Liz and the guys looked at each other.

"Jim, the girls and I have come to a decision about the video cameras and about the guys sleeping in out rooms," Liz said.

Chapter 42:
"So what did you girls decide?" Jim asked

"We decided the video cameras are a good idea." Liz said" and about the guys sleeping on the floor, we're fine with that as long as there are blankets between us"

"Do you guys to their terms?" Jim said, looking at the guys.

"Yeah, we agree," Max answered.

"When are you having your all Girls party night?" Zan asked Liz

"The all girl party is two days away. Why are you asking?" Liz questioned.

"We were just wondering because if you and the girls need help setting up we will be happy to help you," Michael said.

"Thanks for the offer." Liz stated. I'll let you know if we need any help,"

"No problem," Michael said.

"Jim, do you know if Amy is going to be here tonight?" Liz asked, turning to Jim.

"I don't know if she will be here or not," Jim replied, looking at Liz.

"Ok, thanks for letting me know," Liz said.

"So, what are you and the girls doing?" Jim continued.

"We're getting ready to open the club tonight," Liz said to Jim.

"What still needs to be done" Ted asked, as he turned towards Liz.

"We need to change clothes and make sure everything is ready for tonight," Liz said, answering Ted's question.

"How long does that usually take you girls?" Alex asked.

"It usually takes an hour for everything to get done," Liz said.

"Wow. I thought it would take longer then an hour," Ted added.

"No. That is all that it takes to get everything ready," Liz said.

"Liz, why are you wearing a robe?" Max asked.

Liz was about to answer the question when her cell phone started to ring. Liz reached in the robe's pocket and pulled her cell phone out. She pushed the talk button and put the phone to her ear and answered,"Hello?"

"Liz, this is Amy. I just wanted to let you know that I'm on my way to the club right now," Amy said on the other end.

"Amy, where are you? Where have you been? We all have been worried about you," Liz said with a concern clearly in her face.

"I just needed to get away for a couple of days. When I get to the club I'll tell you what is going on?" Amy said lightly.

"Ok Amy. See you in a few minutes," Liz said.

"Bye Liz," Amy said before she closed her cell phone.

Liz turned off her cell phone and put it back in her robe's pocket. She looked up and saw Jim and the guys looking at her with questioning expressions.

"What?" Liz asked.

"Who was that calling your phone?" Zan questioned.

"Liz answered a little aggravated," If it is any of your business, it was Amy. She said she's on her way here,"

"Did she stell you why she left? And where she has been for the last couple of days?" Jim asked with concern clearly in his voice.

"We'll find out when she gets here," Liz stated.

"I'm hoping it is nothing bad," Jim added.

"Jim, don't worry you'll find out soon enough ok," Liz answered.

"Liz, what are you wearing a robe for?" Max asked

"Max, that is none of your business," Liz said, a little frustrated.

"Why are you getting mad at me for asking you a question?" Max questioned.

"I'm not getting mad at you. but I don't see why it's so important fot you to know why I am wearing a robe," Liz said.

Jim interrupts them."Ok guys, enough of the arguing. We all need to try and get along,"

"Yes Jim," Liz and Max said.

"Good. Liz are you redy for tonight?" Jim turned back to Liz.

"Yes, I'm wearing the clothes for tonight under the robe," Liz said.

"It doesn't look like you are wearing anything under the robe," Max said pouting.

"Well I am," Liz shot back.

Jim had to get in the middleof Max and Liz again."Ok guys stop it." He looked at Liz before adding," Liz we will see you and the girls in a few minutes ok,"

"See you guys in a few minutes," Liz said.

Liz walked up to the door, opening it. As she walked out the door she shut it behind her. When Liz looked up she saw Amy walking in the club. Liz and Amy's eyes met as they walked up to each other. When they were face to face relief washed over Liz and they hugged before taking a step back to look at each other.

"Amy welcome home. Where have you been? We were all worried about you," Liz asked.

"Thanks. I went to think some things through. I have had a lot on my mind lately," Amy said.

"What did you need to think about?" Liz asked.

"Amy began to babble." Well Jim and I have been together for two years now. Recently I have found myself asking questions like where is out relationship going? Does Jim want to marry me? Does Jim want kids?"She paused before adding," I don't know what he wants in our relationship,"

"Amy, you need to talk to him about this. Maybe he fels the same way yu do," Liz said.

"I'll talk to him tonight." Amy added quickly changing the subject," So tell me what has been going on here?"

"Do you really want to know?" Liz asked.

"Yes I really want to know," Amy smiled.

"Well we better sit down this might take a while," Liz said.

Liz and Amy walked up to the bar. Amy looked at Liz," Why will it take a while?"

"A lot has happen since you have been gone," Liz stated.

"Like what?" Amy asked curiously

"Sit down and I will tell you," Liz said.

After taking their seats, Liz told Amy about the car bombing, being rushed to the hospital and Max getting her and him out of the hospital because of the doctor. Then she told her about the car ramming, Chris calling form the prison, the guys putting video cameras in the club and about the guys having to sleep in the girls room on the floor for protection.

"All that has happened since I have been gone?" Amy said with a concern for her firend.

"Yeah, that's the short version of wha's been going on," Liz said.

"Where is Jim and the guys?" Amy asjked.

"They are in the office working on some files," Liz stated.

"Why are they here in the office?" Amy asked.

"Because there was a black car out side earlier. The guys are worried that the carmight come back and do something to us,"

"That is understandable," Amy said as she stood up to leave. I guess I better go get changed for tonight. I'll be back in a few."

Liz walked behind the bar and started to check the inventory to make sure that they had enough wine coolers, beer, pop snacks for the evening. When she saw that there was enough, Liz walked out from behind the bar and walked up to the CD player and tapped play. As the music began, Liz walked up to the bar and sat bck down. She turned to see Bear and Teddy behind the bar.

Bear reached in the fridge and grabbed a beer. He then shut the fridge door and walked up to Liz, sitting the beer in front of her. Liz grabbed the beer and twisted the bottle open to take a drink. She turned and looked at the clock. Liz saw it was a few minutes till 8pm. People should begin to arrive soon. She turned back to her beer and took another drink.

By 8pm the club was packed. Liz didn't see the girls or the guys anywhere.
She stood up and walked to the downstairs dressing room. When she walked in the room she took off her robe. Liz walked up to the mirror and sw that she looked good. Liz walked to the couch and sat down, just lenten to the music and people on the other side of the door.

Meanwhile in the club:
Maria and friends walked out of there rooms and met at the bar. Max and guys walked up to the table while the girls walked in different directions. Everyone looked around and saw people having a good time. Maria looked around for Liz, but didn't see her anywhere. Maria walked up to the table where the guys were sitting and she tapped Max on the shoulder. Max turned around to face Maria.

"Max, do you know where Liz is? I can't seem to be able to find her anywhere," Maria said.

"No. I haven't seen her. We'll help you look for her," Max answered.

"Where do we start looking?" Maria asked.

"I'll look down stairs. You and Michael look upstairs and outside," Max said.

"Ok. Come on Mike," Maria said as she grabbed his hand.

Max watched as Michael stood up and walked outside with Maria. Max decided to check the downstairs dressing room. When he opened the door, he found Liz sitting on the couch. Max walked in the room, turned and shut the door. Max turned back to face Liz and she looked up to find Max watching her. Liz watched Max walk up to her, taking a seat beside her. They were now face to face.

"Liz, everyone is wondering where you are," Max said.

"I just wanted a place to go and think," Liz said.

"What do you need to thik about?" Max asked.

"Life and how things change on us when we don't even know it," Liz said.

"Yeah, I know what you mean," Max said.

"What do you do about it?" Liz asked.

"Nothing but go with it," Max said.

"Fine I will try," Liz said.

"Good. Now dance with me?" Max asked.

"What here?" Liz asked.

"Yes here right now," Max said.

Max walked up to Liz and put his hand out for her. Liz looked at Max as she out her hand in his. Max pulled Liz close to him. Liz put her hand on Max;s shoulder as Max put his hands on her hips. They both looked at each other as they slow danced.

Meanwhile in the club:
Maria and Michael walked back in the club. they approach Jim and the guys. Jim and they guys turned and looked at Maria and Michael.

"Did you find Liz?" Jim asked.

"No we didn't. Where is Max?" Michael asked.

"We don't know. I haven't seen him since you started to look for Liz," Jim said.

"Maybe Max found her," Maria said.

"If henot back in thirty minutes we start looking for them ok?" Jim said.

"Ok. I just hope they are both ok," Maria said a little worried.

"You know they are both fine," Jim said to Maria

A few minutes passed before Jim and Friends saw Max and Liz walk out of the dressing. They saw that Max and Liz were laughing. Max and Liz turned and looked at their friends' direction and seeing the worry on their faces caused Max and Liz stop laughing. They walked up to Jim and friends.

"What is going on?" Liz asked.

"What is going on is everyone has been looking foryou Liz. Where have you been?" Maria asked.

"The downstairs dressing room," Liz said.

"What were you doing in there?" Michael questioned.

"I was just thinking o thingd that have happened over the years," Liz said.

"Liz, will you please tell us where you go next time? So we don't worry so much," Maria said

Liz turned to face her firnd."Yes, Maria I promise,"

"Good. And as for you Max this is for not telling me you found her," Maria said as she hit Max upside his head.

Max ducked his head as Maria kept hitting him. Everyone was chuckling slightly at Maria.

"Ok. Maria that's enough. Hr can't take anymore of you hitting him," Liz said, amiling as she turned to Max, dragging him to the dance floor. "Come on Max,"

Max and Liz walked to the dance floor and started to dance to Kocomo by the Beach Boys. Max grabbed Liz by the hips and they started to sway together. Liz had her hands on Max's as they danced. They smiled and laughted as they danced. After the song Liz was about to walk away when Max pulled her against him. A slow song begun and they both looked at each other. as they started to slow dance. Liz raised her hands and put them on Max shoulder.

Maria and friends watched s Max and Liz looked at each other as they slowed danced. They were surprised but glad that Max and Liz were trying to be friends. When the song ended, Max and Liz stopped dancing and they saw and Liz still looking at each other. They were wondering what Max and Liz were thinking.

Max and Liz decided to danced to a few more songs and their friebnds joined them on the dance floor. Everyone was laughing, drinking,and having fun. Liz and Max turned and found Jim and Amy kissing. They both smiled as they watched thre couple.

A few minutes later Bear walked on stage and told everyone it was time to close. Liz and friends watched as everyone walked out of the club and once the club was empty, Liz and friends started to clean up. They threw away beer bottles, beer cans, popcans, cigarettea,paper plates and napkins. Lz and the girls put the cups, silver wear and cook wear in thw dish washer.

After everything was all cleaned up everyone walked out of the club and Li turned and locked the front doors. Once the club was locked up for thr night, Liz walked down the stepsa to where Maria was waiting for her. Everyone unlocked the car doors and got in their cars. They all shut the door and drove off in different directions.

Chapter 43:
When Max got to the apartment building he parked the car infront of the building, turned off the engine and inlocked the doors. so everyone could get out of the car. They all walked up the front dteps to enter the apartment building.

Michael opened the door, holding it opened so Max, Liz and Maria could walk in. After everyone was clear of the door, Michael walked in behind them, shutting the door, making his way his way up the stairs with the others.

When they got to the door of Liz's and Maria's apartment, Max walked in to check the place out first. He checked all hte windows as well the closets for any intruders that maybe hiding he found that the apartment was clear so he walked up to the front door and opened it for the others to enter.

They all walked into the living room and Max and Michael turned and looked at Liz and Maria. You could clearly see the tension between the two couples concerning the sleeping arrangement.

"Do you gilrs want us to wait until after we're all finishing changing clothes to put the blanket up between us?" Max asked.

"Yeah, that will be a great idea," Liz said, slightly blushing.

Maria grabbed Liz's arm and said, " Liz come on we better go ahead and change clothes while the guys change out here,"

"Ok Maria," Liz annswered.

After Liz and Maria changed clothes they walked out of their rooms and made their way back into the living room. When they walked into the living room they saw that Max and Michael were also done changing their clothes. Upon hearing the two girls come in, Max and Michael turned to face them.

"Do you hve blankets in your room to use as the wall between us?" Max asked.

"No we don't. Me and Maria were just going to go get them," Liz said.

"How about me and you go get them while Michael and Maria stay here," Max said.

"It's ok with me. Maria is it ok with you?" Liz asked.

"Yeah, sure," Maria said.

Max and Liz walked out of the living room and into the hallway. They walked to the hallway's closet and Liz opened the door and started to look for the blankets. There were several towards the top self and Liz reached in and grabbed six blankets. She turned back and handed the blankets to Max, who took them from her and watched Liz stepped back and closed the closet door. When Liz turned, she saw Max was watching her, which caused her to blush slightly.

Liz took a few of the blankets from Max and they walked back towards the living room but stopped just in the door way because they saw that Michael and Maria were kissing. Liz was shocked and happy for them and Max was surprised to see Michael and Maria kissing. Max and Liz turned and looked at each other. They both saw that there were smiles on their faces.

"Should we stop them?" Max asked raising an eyebrow at Liz.

"I think we better before more then kissing is going on," Liz said giggling.

Max cleared his throat before he and Liz walked into the living room. They watched as Micheal and Maria pulled aaway form each other quickly trying to smooth their ruffed appearance. Maria and Michael turned to see that Max and Liz both had smiles on their face as they looked at them.

"What are you both smiling about?' Michael asked.

"Oh, something we just walked in on," Max said.

"What do you think you both walked in on?" Maria asked.

"Oh, we walked in on the both of you kissing. Do you want to deny iy?" Liz asked.

"No we're not denying it. I'm shocked that you both caught us," Maria said.

"Are you both going to be able to handle being alone together?" Max asked Michael.

"Yeah, we'll be fine together," Michael said.

"Why do I have a feeling something bad is going to happen?' Maria asked.

"Who knows why you feel that way. But nothing is going to happen while we are here," Michael said.

"Liz, do you feel it? It's like something big is going to happen?" Maria asked Liz nervously to Liz.

"Yeah, I'm starting to feel it to. But I can't figure out why now," Liz said scratching her head.

"Who knows? But I think it is weord you both are feeking something," Max said, looking at both girls.

"Max, it just means that Me and Maria know when something is going to happen. Call it a woman's intution," Liz said.

"Ok but I think we all need to get to sleep before we get too supicious," Max said.

"I agree with Max. Let's all get some sleep," Michael said.

They all walked out of the living room and into the hall way. When they got into the hall way they went their seperate ways. Max and Liz walked to Liz's room as Michael and Maria walked to Maria's room. When they got to the rooms Max and Michael opened the doors for the two girls and Liz and Maria walked into their rooms and went to their beds to sit down.

Max and Michael walked into Liz and Mria's room. They saw Liz and Mria sitting on their beds. Max and Michael shut the doors and walked up to Liz and Maria. When they were face to face the guys put their hands out for the girls, which the girls took. Max and Michael then pulled Liz and Maria up before turning and grabbed a blanket.

They hung the blankets on the strings to seperate them. They said their goodnights and the guys went to the other side of their blankets. They found that there were beds already there for them. that the girls made up for them. They all clinbed into their beds and laid down, pulling the blankets over them. A few minutes later veeryone was fast sleep.

In the morning:
Max woke up and sat up, looking around Liz's room. He stood up before pulling the blanket wall back. He saw Liz was still sleep in her bed and he smiled at her before he placed the blanket back in place. He didn't want to wake her so he walked up to the door, and left the room shutting it behind him before he headed towards the kitchen.

When he walked into the kitchen he found Michael and Maria eating breakfast. He walked up to the cabinet and opened it and grabbed two coffee cups and set them down on the counter. He then reached across the counter and grabbed the coffee pot, and poured the coffee in the cups. After Max filled both cups he put the coffee pot on the warmer.

Max turned and looked atMaria and Michael and they both met his gaze.

"Did you both sleep ok last night?" Max asked.

"Yeah, we slept fine. What about you and Liz?" Michael asked.

I slept fine. I don't know about Liz though she is still sleep," Max said before taking a drink of his coffee.

"Why is Liz still asleep? She should be up by now," Maria said.

"I guess she must hve been really tired," Max said.

"Yeah, that could be it," Maria said.

"I better go and get her up. We need to leave here early if you and Alex are putting the video cameras in the club," Max said as he walked to the door.

Max turned, grabbing the teo cups of coffee before he left the kitchen. He walked down the hal to Liz's room and oped the door, where he found Liz still sleeping. Max walked into the room and set the tow cups of coffee on the dresser. He turned and shut the door then grabbed a coffee cup and walked towards Liz's bed.

He sat the cofee vup on the table then turned to gently shake Liz. Liz woke up grggy and looked up to find Max was looking at her. As Liz sat up she pulled the blanekt towards her chest.

"What time is it?" Liz asked.

"It's 6:30. Here I thought you might want this," Max said, as he handed Liz a cup of coffee.

Liz took a drink then looked up catching Max's gaze.

"Thank you I needed this," Liz asked.

"You're welcome. And I hate to rush you but we need to hurry up and get ready. we're leaving here at 7:30," Max said.

"Um, ok I need to take a quick shower so can you um wait outside? I need to get up and get my robe on," Liz said.
