"I refuse to comment on whether you look 'hot' or not, Evans." I roll my eyes at him. He is one of my closest friends and I love him like a brother, not that I'd ever admit it out loud, unless I were really drunk. Sometimes he worries me, though. I mean, I love to have fun with the ladies and I even have a one night stand occasionally but honestly, I'm looking for the right one just like everybody else. Max, on the other hand, has made it quite clear that he doesn't want a real relationship and has lately been having one night stands as the rule rather than the exception.

Don't get me wrong, as long as someone is cool with that, I'm nobody to judge but I know girls who will agree to a one nighter while all the while thinking that they can change your mind. You have to watch out nowadays because you don't want one of them to get you drunk and agreeing to go to Vegas or worse, they get mad when you keep that bargain of the one night stand and they get attached. I worry about Max because he doesn't really seem the type. One of these days, the doc is going to start out with a girl, thinking it's only for fun and she's going to agree to it, he'll be the one to get attached, and then subsequently get hurt.

I add to Max's ragging on Alex. "Yeah, come on, man. Where is she?"

OT: Alizaleven, I had you down as temping for Michael. Do you want to keep him or should I post a note on the casting call thread for his role? Let me know and I'll fix it either way.

ALEX

I chuckle at Kyle's comment about whether Max is hot or not but then frown when the two ask me yet again.

"Yeah, come on, man. Where is she?"

Sighing, I curtly nod in the direction where the girl stands. "The tall blonde in the red skirt. Happy now?" I raise a hand in Kyle's direction. "Don't even think about going over there and telling her about your 'shy friend' who'd like to invite her to a drink, Valenti! I'm still living in fear since you chatted up that crazy brunette girl for me, two months ago."

"The tall blonde in the red skirt. Happy now?" I don't bother paying attention to the rest of what he says because I'm too busy looking at the blonde. I'm too busy working out how a) to get away with going in there without her seeing me, b) how to kill alex, and c) how to keep him, but also Kyle away from MY SISTER.

God, its my blooming luck he would pick the only girl in the place related to me. Its not that I don't want to talk to her its just... well I havent exactly seen her since I went to med school. I keep meaning to call I just.... I've been busy. And I dont want our first meeting since years ago to be in a club.

I turn to Alex, trying to decide what to say. "She's not your type Alex. Sorry." I say before quickly saying, "I'll tell you what, I'll find you a much more plausable girl ok?" I say with a very put on smile.

OT: I have to say that I was cracking up at that post! And that's what I meant by it being ok to thow in surprises now and again. Of course Kyle would try to set shy Alex up with boisterous, party girl Liz. LOL! Fabulous!

I laugh outright at Alex's mention of the night I tried to set him up with Liz. Michael and Max had had to work but I took Alex out as my special project and when we ran into Liz Parker, I knew she would help loosen him up a bit. I never expected her to tell me what happened that night because she's a cool girl who never kisses and tells but to this day, every time that night comes up, Alex just blushes and changes the subject or threatens me bodily harm if I ever bring it up again.

I glance over at the blonde, he nodded at and am impressed. Ok, Alex Whitman has taste. She is a little too tall for me, especially in those high heels but she is beautiful and...looks a little familiar. Have I gone out with her before? Is she a model or something? Because I swear I've seen her somewhere before.

"Nice, Whitman, very nice. She's definitely got the looks and the figure. And lucky for you, she's standing with a girl friend with no guy in sight. You should ask her to dance or buy her a drink or something when we get inside." Then my eyes drop down to the petite blonde standing next to the tall one and my breath hitches for just a second. Now she is definitely someone I should get to know. She's wearing this cute silver dress and there's just something sophisticated about her.

When I hear Max tell Alex she's not his type, I am puzzled. "What're you talking about Evans? She looks perfect to me.

I don't like the *b) option* here


ALEX

"She's not your type Alex. Sorry. I'll tell you what, I'll find you a much more plausable girl ok?"

I raise an eyebrow at that. It's over? No more bothering and teasing me about it? Weird ... I wonder ... oh, ... I get it, he already hooked up with the blonde once and probably didn't call afterwards so if she sees us now ...

Figues, one girl I acutally am interested in has already gotten it on with one of my friends. Just my luck!

"Okay." I say slowly, "but how about this, I'll believe you and you promise me to *not* look out for a girl for me tonight and that you make sure he leaves me alone too!" I say, motioning to Kyle.

Ewww...yucky thoughts about Max being with Iz

Soooo tempted to smash his face in...
No no...resist.... Just ignore him. Besides, I would not want to be mending the whole I put in his face tommorow!

"Okay." I look over at Alex and smile.
"but how about this, I'll believe you and you promise me to *not* look out for a girl for me tonight and that you make sure he leaves me alone too!"

I smile and quickly say, "Absolutely, not a problem, swear I will absolutely not get involved. And Kyle does too" I say for him, whether he wanted me to or not. I am not letting him or Alex find out that shes my sister. Although from the disheartened look on his face Im guessing he thinks that....

Oh god that is GROSS. Please kill me now....

Oh well, if thats what it takes to keep him away from my sister then...
Oh God please let manage to get through tonight!

"Where on earth is that Michael boy..." I say, looking around and changing the subject.
