Chapter 40

Ellie moved around Liz’s room. As she came to the long mirror, she stopped and looked her reflection in it. She wore low waist jeans and a cottom t-shirt. She pulled it back which revealed her gently showed stomach. She smiled as she placed her hand over it, wondering about her baby’s future. But when she moved her hand around, she saw nothing, just darkness. She wondered about her baby’s future. And then she got hit by it.

[Vision]

She saw Liz. She had a long black shirt and a simple pink tank top, with her hair down. She walked over to a woman. Ellie couldn’t recognize her rigth away but then she did. It was her. She kept hugging a man, but she couldn’t tell for sure who it was. Was it Zan or was it Max?

But everything turned dark. She saw something confusing, her daughter woke up in bed screaming. Ellie wanted to help her. A woman walked throught he doors, she had light green long hair. It was Ava. She walked over to her daughter.

“Allie, what’s wrong?” – Ava asked her daughter. Ellie smiled hearing the name of her daughter. –“I dreamt about mom and dad again. Why do I keep dreaming it? When they’re not really here? Why, Ava?”- Ava shrugged. –“I don’t know, sweetie. You can go ask your uncle Max tomorrow if you want.”- Allie nodded and lay down on her bed again closing her eyes again.

[Vision End]

Ellie found herself staring at Liz’s bed. This is where her daughter slept. What she saw made no sense. She decided not to go through it again. But she smiled hearing her daughter’s name, knowing right away what it was short for. –“Alexandra. No! Alezandra!”- she corrected herself with a smile, nodding.

She sat on the bed and leaned her back on the back of the bed, thinking. Val and Liz were finished. She couldn’t keep switching to them anymore. She was entering almost her forth month and she couldn’t risk her baby anymore. She nodded, making a choice.

There was a knock on the doors. Ellie took a deep breath. –“Who is it?”- her Liz voice came out. –“It’s Isabel.”- the voice answered. –“Come in!”- Ellie answered. Isabel walked inside and closed the doors behind her. –“What can I do for you, Isabel?”- Ellie said, sitting up on her bed. –“I needed to talk someone.”- she said. Ellie looked at her confused.

“I couldn’t really talk to Michael or Max. And I figured since you and I have a long term friendship behind us, I thought I could use youe advise. If you don’t want-”- Ellie smiled.

”No, it’s alright, Isabel. Come sit down.” – she told her. Isabel came and sat next to her. –“So, what is it?”

“Well . . . I . . . Khivar asked me out.” – she didn’t know how to say it so she just said it. She looked at Ellie then after a long while. –“Should I go?”- she asked her her biggest problem. Ellie shrugged to her question.

“I can’t tell you what you feel or what to do, Isabel. I think you should still keep your guard up for a while.” – she paused seeing Isabel’s dissapointed face. –“But you should definetly go out with him.”- she watched as her old friend’s face began to glow in a matter of seconds. –“But, Isabel, you should never take my advise. It was me that told you to go out, remember.”- she pointed out. Isabel waved her hand to that.

“I know. But hey, we’re giving a new chance to everyone. Even Khivar.” – she said a wink and then hugged Ellie. Ellie didn’t see this coming, but she returned the hug.

***

The following day, Max met Isabel and Michael on the cliff. They needed to make their choices on weather to go or not. –“Have you made up your mind?”- both nodded to his question. He watched for them to answer. –“Sorry, Maxwell, but I’m staying. Maria needs me right now.”- Max nodded and looked at his sister. –“I think I’m gona go, Max . . .”- she said and pausing, not sure how to say what she wanted to say more.

A car drove to them, Zan. He stopped and walked up to them. –“Is something wrong?”- Max’s first question came. His dupe shook his head. –“No, I just spoke to Ellie and she told me that Khivar wants to go on Antar too.” – Max and Michael exhanged looks and then Max’s look fell to Isabel, who was avoiding him. –“You knew.”- he said and she nodded.

“I did. I was finding a way to tell you this just now when Zan showed up. Khivar wants to go home with me.” – she told her brother. Max looked at Zan. –“What do you think?”- he asked his dupe.

Zan shrugged. –“Can’t really say. He fooled us once already. But after Iz seen ‘im go all baby on us, I’d reall’ like to see ‘im try anything again.”- Max nodded. –“Fine, he can go. But we’re keeping a close eye on him.”- Zan nodded but he paused in the middle of the nod. –“Man, I ain’t going. Ellie decided to stay here.”- Max looked a bit disapointed but finally nodded to what he was telling him.

Chapter 41

Cars gathered on the road. Jim drove his car to them and stopped the engine and got out. He saw Hanson and walked over to him. –“Sorry to call you out so late, Jim. But you should know this.”- he told the ex-sheriff. Jim nodded as Hanson walked behind the yellow tape. There was a body lying on the table, to it’s side. Jim looked at Hanson, confused why was it imporant for him to be here.

“A bus driver found the body here. He almost ran it over. He called us right away. When I saw who it was, I thought it be best if I call you.” – Hanson explained. Jim nodded, hearing what he said. He felt his heart in his throught as Hanson nodded to his depudy, who then moved the cover from the body.

Jim’s hand went to his heart, as he felt like hs would get a heart attack. He watched the body on the ground. She lay there, to her side, simple jeans and a white blouse, with dried blood from her nose with her long straight brown hair falling over her eyes. He kneeled down and looked at her eyes they were at kind of peace.

As he got up, he looked at Hanson, not understanding what happened. –“We found her like that. We have no idea what happened. I called you. I thought I’d be best if you told her parents.”- he nodded to his words and took one last look at her before he slowly walked back to his car. He had to tell the kids what he saw. He couldn’t open his mouth anymore as the image of her peacful eyes carved into his memory.

***

They were in Crashdown. Tess sat in the booth, leaning on Kyle that sat next to her. They were laughing about something. Max sat at the counter, watching how Maria and Isabel had a intense conversation about something. Michael sat next to him, reading over the notebook that Ellie brought him. Zan, Ellie and Ava weren’t here but he didn’t expect them to be since the Parkers could walk in any moment and see them like this and neither could explain it then.

His eyes travelled back to his sister and Isabel. Maria suddenly unlock her wheenchair and turned the wheels making her way into the back. When Michael wanted to help her, she just waved her hand. She was always intependent and she was getting really got at controling the chair, as well as feeling her feet. It was a real miracle. Isabe walked on his free side and sat next to him without a word.

Suddenly, something fell in the back room. Everyone looked that way. The doors pushed open and Maria returned, moving her wheels back and making her way to Michael. Jim came behind her. His face was sad and Maria was sobbing. He got up and walked over to Jim. He heard sobbing in the back, Jim put his hand on his shoulder, not letting him go through. –“They need to be alone now, Max.”- Jim finally brought himself to say to the young man. Max looked at him, not understanding.

”Hanson called me out to the road.” – he started, Isabel came to Max and pulled him to her, leaving Jim alone to finish talking. There was nothing by Maria’s sobbing in the room when Jim paused. –“He found a body and thought it was best for me to tell you guys. And her parents.”- he said. He looked at Max for a second. –“I’m sorry, Max.”- he finally said. Max looked at his sister, his best friend and finally to the ground. –“It’s Liz.”- Max broke from his sisters hands and fell on his knees hearing Jim’s last words as his face filled with tears. Isabel’s eyes watered too, not understanding what she was hearing. She was sure that she had see Ellie just the day before.

***

They slowly walked into a dark street. Jim led them, Max came after him. Michael pushed Maria’s wheel through the way. Tess stood there, with Kyle holding her. Isabel stood next to Maria with a blank face. She suddenly began talking. –“ He'll need to use his power, to open the doors.”- Jim and Max walked to a black van out sound of the place. Max put his hand over the doors, Jim opened the doors and Max got in. Closing the doors after he got in, Jim walked through the back doors to make sure Max got time to save her.

“He'll take a deep breath, put his hand on her chest, and bring her back to life.” - inside the van, Max kneeled down to the body bag. Max looked at her body, at her opened eyes, the experission scared him. He put his hand over her and his hand began to glow. - “...and Liz will sit up suddenly, and Max will jump back, and the whole van will shake a little.” - Suddenly he pulled back, shocked with what he saw. The van shook only once. It was weird and dark. There was nothing inside her. Just a body.

“...the whole...the whole van will shake, and they'll come running back here with big goofy grins on their faces, and we'll have to come up with some kind of cover story for Hanson and everybody....” – Isabel continued to talk as Max exited the van on his own and walked back to the ground with his head down. –“Max?”- Isabel looked at her brother.
Jim came through the back door again and walked to them, giving Max a questioned look. Almost if there was a silentl answer, Jim nodded to himself. “I think you should all go home now. ”- he told them.

***

Zan drove on to the highway. He looked to his passanger seat where Ava sat. He gave her a weak smile of comfort, glad that he had someone from his old life with him. His look through the mirror into the back seat where the woman he loved slept. He smiled to himself, still wondering if they had done the right thing jus taking off, with a single word. She didn't tell him what she planned but she did do something. He didn't want to question her, he carried on driving.

***

Max sat on the floor of his room, thinking about what he saw when he tried to heal Liz. It haunted his mind, along with the look in her eyes. The doors of his room opened and he didn't even notice. It was Isabel. She silently walked through the room and sat on the floor next to him, putting her hand around him and putting her head on his shoulder. She knew how much he was in pain right now. She knew how much it felt to loose Alex and Max loved Liz so much more.

They sat there for a long time until Max finally woke up from his lost thoughts and realized Isabel was next to him. –“Isabel.”- he whispered, in case she was asleep. –“Yea?”- but she wasn’t. He moved a bit from her, so he could look at her. He took her hands into his, watching her. It was strange how they both grew up so fast. But he had other things to talk about right now. –“I made a choice, Isabel. I don’t want to go to Antar now.”- he told her what was on his mind and his sister only nodded.

“I know, Max. Nobody expects you to. You just lost the girl you love. I’ll look after Tess.” – he nodded as the hugged each other, glad to have each other in all of this.

Chapter 42

Max decided to stay on Earth and Tess didn’t object to it. Her baby was in trouble and she couldn’t worry about Max right away. Khivar tried to talk to her but he never got a chance. Isabel wanted to stay at first but he sat her down and asked her to try. Them together. So she accepted it. The two girls left Earth with Khivar.

Two months later

It seemed like forever for Max. February was just hitting in. Things had completely changed. The girl he loved turned out to be the reason of his death in his past life, he realized that they loved each other in that other life and that it was him to blame for all the mess that took place on Antar. He met his dupe, even though he was led to believe of his death. He also met Khivar, that turned out to be Liz’s sister.

Two months back, he was ready to go on Antar to save his son. Liz’s death stopped him. Instead, Tess went with Isabel and Khivar, and two months later, there were no words from them. Zan and Ava left town with Val but he heard nothing of them. He didn’t even know if Val was still alive and if she knew about Liz.

Michael and Maria got closer. Maria slowly began to stand on her feet. Now she was using crutchs, Max moved out of his family house and found his own apartment, after Michael got tired with him in his apartment.

Max was deep in his toughts, as the young waitress put the plate before him and the check on the table. He nodded to her and she walked away. He ate every meal in the Crashdown and Jeff and Nancy insisted on him eating breakfast for free. Sometimes with them. He felt closer to Liz being here even though she wasn’t here anymore.

He got hit on the back and he almost chocked on his food. He looked behind him and found Maria. She was in her uniform, working. He motioned her to sit down and she nodded thankful. The Parkers didn’t have to keep her as a waitress but they wanted to. Nobody objected on it.

”How’s your lunch?” – she asked him as she sat down. He looked down on his plate. He had taken only a bite from his burger. –“Fine, I guess.”- he answered her and took a sip from his cherry coke. –“Max, it’s been two months. I know the Parkers adore you and all but you should try to live ‘normal’.”- she said, motioning her hands into quotation symbols which made him smile.

“I know, Maria. I’m trying. Being when I came here, it just falls apart.” – he answered her. –“Good enough for me. What do you think when Isabel is coming back? ‘cause Michael is freaking out because she’s long gone and how we never should have trusted that Khivar.”- she told him under her voice. –“We never did trust him, Maria.”- he answered her simply and took a bite from his burger.

***

After school, Max drove his car to the cemetary. He turned the engine off and sat there for a bit, thinking.

When I think back
On these times
And the dreams
We left behind
I'll be glad 'cause
I was blessed to get
To have you in my life
When I look back
On these days
I'll look and see your face
You were right there for me

His mind instantly rushed to all the memories with Liz. He did it everytime he came to the cemetary, which meant every day. He could see her in her cupcake dress with Maria. He could see her working in the diner, on the day he shot her. And how she came to him looking for answers.

In my dreams
I'll always see you soar
Above the sky
In my heart
There will always be a place
For you for all my life
I'll keep a part
Of you with me
And everywhere I am
There you'll be

Their first kiss, being caught in the erasor room. A smile came to his face, when he remmeber the way their moms looked at them when they came to the school and how he took her hand before they walked into the diner that day.

Well you showed me
How it feels
To feel the sky
Within my reach
And I always
Will remember all
The strength you
Gave to me
Your love made me
Make it through
Oh, I owe so much to you
You were right there for me

Their times together rushed to his thoughts. The look on her face when she saw him with Tess. When they tried to excape the FBI after the White Room. Their moments in the bus. Time in the pod chamber and how she walked away from him.

In my dreams
I'll always see you soar
Above the sky
In my heart
There will always be a place
For you for all my life
I'll keep a part
Of you with me
And everywhere I am
There you'll be

How he kept trying to get back to after that, how he found her with Kyle in bed. How she told him the truth about why he found her with Kyle. The time they made love. Another smile came to his face thinking about it. And how he was happy when she separated from Ellie, even for a bit. How she bursted into his room to tell him about Lonnie and Nicholas.

'Cause I always saw in you
My light, my strength
And I want to thank you
Now for all the ways
You were right there for me
You were right there for me
For always

He felt sorry for every time he hurt her and when he wasn’t there for her. How he treated Khivar, even when she needed him to. The way she kissed Zan. He shook his head not wanting to hate his dupe because of that. He walked out of the car and entered the cemetary.

In my dreams
I'll always see you soar
Above the sky
In my heart
There will always be a place
For you for all my life
I'll keep a part
Of you with me
And everywhere I am
There you'll be

He turned to the left and made his way to Liz’s grave. He found a woman there, on her knees. He recognized her right away. –“Ellie?”- he spoke her name which startled her. She fell on her back and looked at him. She should have known he would be hre. She sighed looking at him, before speaking. –“Hi, Max.”- she told him.

He reached his hand to her for to stand up. Her stomach was already showing. –“But how?”- his question came to her. She looked at him, not understanding his question. –“She died. How could you be here?”- he asked her, looking at the tombstone and what it read.

Elizabeth Claudia Parker
1983-2002

Beloved Daughter and Dear friend
She had the heart big enough for the world.

She followed his gaze to the tombstone and smiled. –“That was a nice thing to say. I feel special.” She said with a giggle but stopped seeing his look. –“Max, I’m sure you tried to heal her. Darnest thing, she was empty, right?” – he nodded silently. –“Max . . .”- she took his hand as she looked at him. –“I’m about 6 months pregnant. I can’t be changing. It could hurt the baby.”- she told him. She glanced at the tombstone. –“I had to throw one life away. Val was ready for it. You should have seen her eyes.”- he looked at the tombstone. –“You don’t mean to say-”- she stopped him, placing her finger over his mouth, before he said anything more.

“That it’s Val’s body? Yes, that’s what I’m saying, Max. I expected you to know. You remember the silver fingerprint?” – he nodded. –“If I died, it would have reapeated.”- she told him. –“Liz?”- he called her name. She shook her head. –“Liz is dead, Max. I’m Ellie. I just have more of Liz then from Val.”- she told him.

”Why?” – he finally asked her, his pain returning. –“I had to walk away from this life. Too many people have been hurt by me. Too many. This way, everything will get better.”- she told him as a smile formed on her face. She leaned her head on his chest and he put his arms around her back. It was something he shared with Zan, the way he rapped his arms around here, as he wanted to protecto her from everything and keep her close forever.

The slowly began to walk through the cemetary, with his hand around her and her hand resting on his shoulder. As they came to the end of the cemetary, a familiar face came out of the car next to his. He didn’t even see her inside before her. She had the same blue/purple hair color as she did the last time he saw her. “Ya good?” – she asked Ellie. –“I’m fine.”- she answered and broke out of Max’s grip. She walked to their car and leaned on it. Max followed her move and leaned on his car.

“So where have you been all this time?” – he asked her. –“Makin’ it big!”- Ava suddenly said and waved her hand. A magazine came flying to Max’s hand. He cought it. It was the Vouge. Ava was on it’s covers. He nodded. –“You look good.”- he said and reached his hand to return it to her but she only waved her hand. –“Please keep it. She has about a million copies back home.”- Ellie said. He threw it into the car.

“We’ve been in L.A., living with Kal. Seeing Eleanor regulaly, when she’s not doing a movie.” – she told him. - “We should go see everyone. They will be glad-” – he paused seeing Ellie shake her head. –“Max, no. They can’t know. It will hurt them all over again. Maybe someday . . . but not today. Not now. They’re not ready.”- she told him and he nodded.

”By the way, it turned out that either you or me did heal Maria.” – Ellie looked at him interested. –“She’s using crutches now. Her therapist said that her medical files say that she was unable to walk.”- it brought a smile to her face. –“That’s nice.”- she said, trying to picture it. Max moved from his car and walked to her, pulling her to him and kissing her.

As soon as their lips met, she could see everything what was going on through the past two months, including Maria walking. He pulled back and leaned on his car again. Ava looked at them surprised and not sure what to think. Ellie wasn’t sure what Max saw.

He saw what she had been doing the last two months. Time with Zan, Ava, Eleanor, Kal and Rath. She seemed to be doing alright. He saw her looking at the stars every night, hoping for some sign that Isabel, Tess and Khivar were alright, that his son was safe.

“Nice apartment.” – Ellie finally said. Ava was confused, thinking they had some telepatic connection that she didn’t know about. –“Yea . . . you saw that.”- he said, nodding and smiling. –“So, how long are you saying.”- Ellie shrugged. –“Not long. Have to finalize a thing or two. Left my diary here. I took it to Kal’s the last time we all went togther but I forgot to leave it there.”- she explained.

”You wana sleep at my place. It’s next to Michael’s but if you keep it down, I dout he’ll notice. I have two couchs that open up.” – Ellie nodded. Ava wasn’t sure, not after what she saw.

***

“Yep, I’m in Roswell, New Mexico. Went to see my tombstone and talked to Max. A lot has happened.” – Ellie spoke on Max’s phone as he sat there waiting for her to hang up. –“I need you to tell Eleanor that the bridemates will wear a light soft red color. I don’t care you’re Antarian, Zan! I’m Ryctorian and our color is light red. You can dress your best men the way you want to. Just tell her that!”- she paused and looked at Max, his face showing confusement. She waved her hand to Ava and nodded towards Max. She understood right away.

“Max, we should have a bit of a talk.” – she said and got up. Max followed her into the kitchen. As he was closing the doors, he heard the last bit of the conversation. –“I’m sorry too. She’s o.k., we both love you. And I’ll tell Ava the message. Love you. Bye.”- his face turned to Ava.

She sat him down and explained that they had been living in Kal’s house all this time. Ava became a model and Ellie was offered the posibility of being an actress. They were planning a wedding that would take place after the birth of the girl. How Eleanor moved into Kal’s house and for the world, they’re keeping the story of having a relationship.

When she was done, she looked at him. –“That’s it. Now, explain to me, why the hell did you kiss her?”- she asked him, demanding an answer. –“We’re connected. I think it’s because I healed her. But when we kiss, we share flashes. Images of each others feelings and memories. I showed her what’s been going on in the last two months and she showed me a bit on her life in L.A.”- he told her. She nodded. –“But, I wouldn’t kiss her again. Got it?”- he nodded.

Chapter 43

Diana and Phillip Evans sat down at their kitchen table eating dinner in silance. The doorbell rang and Diana got up and walked there to open them.

Phillip heard a scream and he ran to the doors, only to find his wife scrying at the sight before her. He knew his wife was happy and the scream was a simple shock.

Before them stood their daughter Isabel, after missing for two months. Max told them that she left town for a while trying to get over Alex. And now, she stood before them with a baby in hands.

Phillip took his wifes hand and pulled her aside for Isabel to walk in. He closed the doors behind his daughter and the two walked with her into the kitchen. The baby began crying and Isabel tried to calm it down. But nothing worked.

“Isabel, give the baby to me.”- finally her mother told her. Isabel wasn’t sure but she finally gave her the baby. About 10 seconds later, the baby was peacful again. She smiled. Her mother trully was a mother.

“Honey, who’s baby is this?” – her father asked her. She looked at him. –“Where’s Max?”- her question came instead of an answer.

“He moved out, honey. Whose baby is this?”- Phillip insisted on an answer. –“His, dad. Now where is he?” – she asked again, looking at her father.

Phillip walked to the phone and dialed a number. Isabel watched him careful. She had never felt afraid from her parents but she felt she should now. She calmed down only when she heard her father speak.

“Max, it’s me. Look, I think you should come home. Someone is waiting for you here. Alright.”- he hung up and looked at his daughter and wife. –“He’s coming, he told her.”- Isabel nodded and continued to watch the baby.

They heard the car engine stop in the driveway. Isabel quickly walked to the window to check who it was. Diana and Phillip exchanged looks realizing that they both saw her new behavior. Max walked through the front doors and called for his parents.

As he came to the kitchen, he saw Isabel standing by the window and his eyes then fell to the baby in his mother’s hand. His vision bluried as he walked to Isabel. –“God, what happened?”- he asked his sister as he hugged her.

“It got so messed up. Tess joined the sides of the rebells, Max. I barely saved your son.” – she told him. Max kept hugging her with his eyes to his son. As the broke the hug, he walked to his mother, who gave him his son. He watched him closly, as the baby showed a smile. Isabel smiled took seeing the baby’s smile.

“This is the first time I ever saw him smile, Max.”- she told her brother. He had tears on his eyes. His son was home. He didn’t care about anything else. He pulled the baby close to him –“Thank you, Isabel.”- she smiled again.

”Max, what’s going on here?” – his mother asked him. He looked at her. –“This is my son, mom. Tess is his mother. She had to go away to save him, he needed help. But he had no idea that she wouldn’t even care for him.”- he told them.

It was the truth, without the major details. He kept his son close to him. Diana put her hand over her mouth hearing what he told her.

The baby started crying again. –“Oh, Max, I think he’s hungry.”- Diana informed her son. Max gave a questioned look to his sister. –“He’s still on the brast milk. But he won’t take anyone’s. You need-”- he nodded, stopping her.

“I think I know who could help.”- he said and turned to his parents. –“Thanks for calling me, mom. Dad. I’ll car you tomorrow. I have to go now.”- he told them and Isabel followed him out before the Evans’s could ask them anything.

Max gave the baby to Isabel and they got into the car and drove off. The drove to Michael’s place and Isabel gave him a confused look. –“I love in the apartment next to him.”- she nodded. She still wasn’t fully following but she didn’t ask any questions yet.

They got out of the car and Max took out his keys. He turned the key in the lock and moved aside for her to come in. They were greated by Ava’s hand before her.

“Ava, it’s alright.”- Ellie’s voice came from the back of the room.

Chapter 44

Isabel looked at Max, who took his son from her and walked to Ellie. –“Ellie, do you think you could-?”- she stopped him in his question as she streched her hands. He gave her his son and looked at Ava.

“A future mother begins to produce milk in the 6th month, in case the baby is born sooner.”- Ava explained him. He nodded. He still didn’t understand how any of it work. She was part of his world and yet, her pregnancy was completely different from Tess’s.

“So, you’re back, Isabel.” – Ellie spoke as she fed the boy. –“Yea. Tess joined Margon, who seemed to be leading.” – he told her. –“I can’t believe Zan wanted me to marry to guy.”- Ellie commented to herself. Max looked at her, not understanding. Isabel knew what she was saying. –“And Khivar?”- she asked about her brother.

“I don’t know. I can’t be sure. But . . . the thing is that . . . we got married.” – Isabel said and Max’s and Ava’s eyes flew right to him.

“You shouldn’t have done that. Now he cam claim the throne through his marriage with you.”- Ava said. Max looked at her, slowly beginning to understand what she was saying.

Isabel looked at Ellie, who kept feeding the baby. She had a worried face and Isabel could tell that it was because of her brother. But she still didn’t understand what was going on here and how she could exist.

“With the baby inside me, I couldn’t keep switching. I need to separate myself from this life. It was Val’s body that they burried, but her essance is inside me.” – Ellie began to explain, as if she could hear Isabel’s thoughts.

Isabel nodded to what she was telling her. –“And Zan?”- she asked her.

“Zan didn’t know until last week when I told him what I did. We’ve been living in L.A. with Kal.” – she told her and looked at Ava. –“Ava has been a cold to us. She’s been a real help. Who knew she and Tess could be so different.”- she said as Ava rolled her eyes to the silly comment her friend shared with them. Ellie always made such jokes and Ava was used to them.

As she finished with the baby, Ellie got up and leaned him to her chest with his head towards her shoulders. She began walking around the room and gently moving the boy up and down. Max watched her, thinking how she will be an amazing mother. It wasn’t long after that that they boy fee asleep.

Isabel felt Ellie’s hand on her shoulder and she looked at her. –“Did he sleep in an Antarian baby bed?”- she asked her. Isabel shrugged but once she thought it through, she nodded. Ellie moved her hand away from her and waved into the thin air. Four very long woods appeared and slowly a circle with a soft cover in it. The circle had a long enough fence around it. She put the baby inside and it rested there.

She moved to the couch and sat next to Isabel, sighing. It wore her out. Max considered it being the power usage but he still remembered what Kal had told him about her powers. She was tired as she spent her entire energy on the baby. She gave everything to make it right. It was her first time with any baby. And she did a wonderful job.

“We should go to sleep.” – Max finally said. Isabel nodded as she turned to say something to Ellie. But Ellie already leay back on the couch with her feet up, sound asleep. She smiled and looked at Max. Val lay on the other couch and closed her eyes, falling asleep right away.

“You take the bed, Isabel.”- he told his sister. She opened her mouth to protest but Max leaned to her and kissed her forehead.

”I’m just glad you’re home.” - he told her. She got up and walked into the bedroom. Max moved a bit in the armchair and finally closed his eyes, thinking how everything would turn out alright now, that he had Isabel and his son back.

Happy Easter, everyone!! :D

Chapter 45

One month after. Max woke up in his bed and rolled to the other side wanting to sleep a bit more. After Elli’s visit, everything came a bit more bright. He turned on his back and moved his hands behind her back, thinking about her visit.

It seemed almost imposible for him to stop thinking about it, specially after their kiss. He remembered each part of the flashes clearly. But it surprised him that even now, when she was Kivana Eli, and not Liz, they could have the visions.

He let out a silent sigh, thinking about her words. She told him that she was Liz but that she was also Val. It was Val’s body in the ground and everyone morned for her. He did in a way. But he woke up to a new day once he knew the girl he loved was saved. He even stopped to think if in fact, he didn’t even love a girl, but if she was indeed a woman.

A smile came to his face as he pushed himself up and sat on the edge of the bed as his feet came to the ground. He got up and reached for his jeans and stepped into them, pulling them up and buttoning and zipping them. He looked around the room looking for his T-shirt.

When he couldn’t find any out, he walked to his closet and opened it, taking a look through it. He finally took out a dark blue shirt and put it up. He walked out of his bedroom as he buttoned it. He stopped in his way, finding Michael sitting on the armchair. –“Morning. Ever heard of doorbells and knocking?”- he asked his best friend as he walked into the kitchen and put a pot into the coffee maker and started it.

He returned to the living room and leaned on the wall of the kitchen. Michael was still quiet. –“Earth to Michael Guerin.”- he called his friend, who returned the gaze. –“Maria’s been freaking out. You had two chicks here a while back but never said a word on who they were.”- he told him.

Max nodded but before he could answer, he heard the coffee mashine finishing. He returned to his kitchen and took out the pot. –“You want coffee?”- he asked his friend. –“Nah, I’m good.”- Michael answered him.

He took a cup from the cupboard and poired some coffee into it. He returned into the living room a second later with the cup in his hand and sat on the couch appositive from Michael. –“So?”- Michael’s question came to Max as he took a sip. –“So what?”

“Two chicks in your place, Maxwell!” – he repated what he said before. Max nodded, sipping his coffee. –“Well?”- he insisted. He clearly needed an answer before he went home. –“Nothing to tell, Michael. I know the girls. They’re not from around. One is a friend and the other one, I think I’m falling her. But that’s not going to happen since she’s taken. And they left town.”- he explained miterious.

“What?” – Michael looked totally confused. –“Can’t say more. Been sworn to secrecy.”- he said with a bit of a smirk on his face. He could see Michael didn’t understand a word he was hearing. Max watched his friend move his hand to his right eyebrow and scratched it.

”Maxwell, are you feeling alright?” – he asked. Moving the cup from his mouth, he looked at him. –“Yea, why wouldn’t I be?”- and with that, he returned the cup to his mouth.

At that moment, Isabel walked through the doors wearing a leather outfit in a dark red color, her long blond hair in a high pony tail. –“Morning.”- she said, closing the doors behind her. She made a questioned face towards her brother, who only pointed at the kitchen. She nodded and walked inside.

When she came back into the living room, she carried a cup of coffee. She sat next to her brother and took a sip. It was a bit cold for her taste. She waved her hand and it was hot. She took a sip and smiled.

The next moment, she looked at Michael and then at Max. They were clearly talking about something. She didn’t want to get into it. She had been trying to avoide any big conversations, specially if it consered Ellie or Zan. She knew a big secret and she had no idea how long she could actually keep it in. She looked behind her, at the Antarian cradle that Ellie had made for Max’s son.

She remembered how Michael reacted when he first saw it. Both Max and she coulld see that Michael had recognized it but couldn’t really place it. Max explained that Isabel brought it with her when she came back from Antar, but Isabel wasn’t too sure if he actually fell for that story.

The baby boy was asound asleep. She was surprised how long he could sleep. Ellie stayed in town as long as the baby needed her. She felt bad that she couldn’t say longer but it was already too long.

She got too involved into her own thoughts that she hardy noticed that both Max and Michael were trying to get her attention. She wondered for how long. She blinked and then looked at her brother and then Michael with a ice queen ‘what’ look. It was the sort of look that she remembered by heart, when she didn’t want to be bothered.

She saw Michael look away and Max return to drinking his coffee. She still knew how to do it. She took a sip. Once she swallowed it, she began to speak. –“So what did you guys plan for today?”- she could see both of the shrugg.

Drinking her coffee, she wondered what they could actually do today. And truth be told, she didn’t have a clue. It was the middle of March and after everything they had been through, they barely spent time with each other anymore.

She wondered if it would ever change back. If they could be happy somehow again, at least for a moment.

Chapter 46/Part 1

Six Months Later

It was a bright day in Semptember, with the sun shining like it was the middle of August. Max opened his eyes being interupted by the doorbell. He got up and put on a pair a jeans. He walked to the doors and opened them, finding the mailman at his doors. –“Morning!”- the man sounded cheerful as he handed him his mail. Max watched him leave for a second towards Michael and then he glanced as his mail.

Two bills, a few adds and then finally, a beautiful light red envelope. He threw everything else on the table and opened the envelope. He found a beautiful, perhaps handmade invitation. He sat on the couch as he was about to open it. Once he did, his jaw dropped at what he saw.

Image

He saw a photograph of Ellie and Zan and next to it their names. It took his a moment before he actually read it.

Once he read it, he re-read it, making sure he read it right. But there was no mistake there. Ellie and Zan were officially getting married, in five days. And he was invited. A second later, he heard a scream from Michael’s apartment.

Without dropping the invitation, he ran out of his and into his friend’s apartment. He saw Maria standing on her two feet and Michael trying to figure out what was wrong. Maria looked at him and then the invitation in his hand. Both Max and Michael followed her gaze to his invitation. He knew what was the problem right away.

Maria never expected to see Ellie again, not after Liz had died. And now, 8 months later, she saw her, leaning on Zan on a wedding invitation. An invitation to their wedding. Ellie’s wedding. Max kept hearing his mind say it but it didn’t just click yet to him.

***

Across down, in th Evans home, a doorbell was heard. Isabel, who was to take care of Max’s son. A boy that was now almost 6 months old and who they strangley named Thomas Zan Evans and called Tom.

Isabel gave the baby to her mom and walked towards the doors. The mailman. He handed her the mail. Under a bunch of things for her parents, she found a red envelope adressed to ‘Isabel Evans’. She ripped it open and found a picture of Ellie and Zan looking at her. She read what it said and smiled, returning to the kitchen.

She gave the mail to her father, expect the invitation and took Tom back from her mother. Diana and Phillip could see a smile on her face but they decided not to question her. They only watched her as she continued to feed to boy.

***

Jim Valenti walked through the house looking for something. Kyle didn’t bother to ask him what he was looking for but continued to eat his breakfast. There was knock on the doors and both Valenti’s walked towards them. Jim, being closer opened them. A mailman at their door handed them a red envelope and walked away.

The two exchanged looks. Jim looked at the envelope to see to whom it was addressed to. It read. ‘Jim and Kyle Valenti’. Kyle took the envelope from him and found the invitation and shook his head once smiling. He gave the invitation for his father to see it too.

***

The next day, everyone knew that everyone got the invitation so they agreed to fly to L.A.; a few hours later, they were on the plane. Maria still looked a bit stressed out by the photo of Ellie and Zan. Michael was beginning to suspect that Max and Isabel knew about Ellie.

Max held his son in his hand as Tom slept silently. It was the only thing keeping Michael from giving Max a peace of his mind. Jim and Kyle sat behind them all and quietly talked. Nobody was really sure what it was about for sure.

At the airport, a limo waited for them, to drive them to Kal’s house. They all jumped in and laughed for no good reason through the entire drive. Finally the limo stopped and they steppped out, before the front doors of the large mansion. The doors opened and a familiar face ran out, Ava. Her hair was a lot longer now, much longer then they had ever seen Tess have and strange enough, it was green. In a very sharp green.

She walked to them and hugged them, one by one. When she came to Max and Tom, she stopped and looked at the baby. –“My dupe’s, right?”- he nodded as she smiled. –“He’s got nothing like us. He’s all you, Max!”- she added. –“Can I?”- she stretched her hands towards him and he gave her the baby.

“What’s iz name?” – she asked him as she smiled to the baby. –“Thomas Zan Evans, called Tom.”- Isabel said stepping infront of him.

Ava motioned her free hand towards the house and followed her inside. They were surprised how she straighted up but it was good.

Jim, being the last one, closed the doors behind him. He was amazed by the size of the house since he wasn’t here the last time. Ava led them through the house and into the backyard. As soon as they stepped out, a woman approched them, Eleanor.

”Hey, guys.” – she told them. Jim walked a bit forward, when he realized how it was. He looked at Max and Isabel behind him, surprised. But before he could actually ask anything, she walked to him with a smile. –“You must be Jim. I’m Eleanor. And Jodie. But it’s Eleanor for family.”- she told him and hugged him. He froze for a second and the hugged her back.

Max shook his head with a smile and walked into the green part of the yard. He noticed his dupe get up and walked to him. –“’ej, man!”- he said coming to him. Max nodded in response. His eyes were on the person in the lawn chair. He couldn’t see her. He could actually see a bit of her brown hair and long legs.

Before he could actually go talk to her, he heard a voice behind him. He looked back, along with everyone else. –“How about we go see your mommy now? Uncle Kal has a lot to work now!”- he said, holding a baby girl in his hand. He saw the group but ignored them walking to the lawn chair. –“She sucked the last peace of my life. Could you take her?”- he asked her.

“Sure.” – her gentle voice came. Max froze. She slowly pushed from the back holder and her legs went on her side. She sat up on it and reach her hands up to the girl brown hair. He watched her kiss the girl’s forehead. Kal walked pass them and into the house, not wanting to put up with any of them.

Max felt Zan hit him on the back and looked at the smirk on his dupes face. –“Dude, need a favor.”- he said. Max nodded, showing that he was listening. –“Iz needs best men.”- he told him and nodded as Zan looked at Michael who nodded too. –“Thanks.”- he said and walked into the kitchen. Ava followed him.

Max looked around to see what Ellie was doing and found her right behind him, holding her baby girl. Her brown eyes met his. –“Hey.”- she said. –“Hey.”- he answered right back. Everyone answered too.

”Good trip?” – everyone nodded. She looked at Maria, who seemed to be avoiding her at any cost. She walked over to her. Max watched as she adjusted her daughter to the side. He could see the girl’s eyes, they were amber just like his. They looked right at him with a smile on his face. –“Maria?”- Ellie called to her friend.

Maria finally looked at her, Ellie could see her eyes shinning from the tears that she couldn’t reliease. –“It’s alright, Maria. I know this is hard, especially after the funeral. But I wanted you to be here.”- Maria nodded and Ellie opened her free hand to her. They hugged carefuly, making sure they didn’t hurt the baby.

As she pulled back from her friend, Maria looked at the little girl with a smile. –“And who may this be?”- she asked. Ellie looked at her daughter. –“This is Alezanndra Velandra Laqua Valerie Xothorn-Amayx.”- she could see Maria’s confused face. –“Allie Amayx.”- she added. –“Allie, this is your aunt Maria.”- the girl smiled. –“Can I hold her?”- Maria asked her.

Ellie shook her head. –“I’m sorry. Maybe tomorrow. She needs to get used to you.”- Maria nodded and Ellie looked at the rest of the group around them. –“I overheard that Zan asked you and Michael to be his best men.”- she said, looking at Max, who nodded.

She didn’t wait for him to say anything. She spoke to the girls. –“Isabel, Maria, I’d like you two to be my bridemades with Ava.”- Isabel nodded right away. Ellie looked at Maria who hesitated for a moment or two but then finally nodded.

To Be Continued . . .

Chapter 46/Part 2

15th of Semptember. Only four days after the group had arrived to Los Angeles, it was Ellie’s and Zan’s wedding day. Wanting to hold on to certain traditions, Ellie slept in a different room for Zan. When he woke up around 8 a.m. and walked to her room to wake her up, she was already gone. He leaned on the wall and smiled, thinking how she was probably running around and finishing the wedding preparations.

He returned to his room and found his tuxido on the bed. He wondered when they brought it in since he was out only for a few seconds. He shook his head and walked into his bathroom and took a shower.

About 10 minutes later, he returned to his bedroom. With what he saw on the bed, he took a step back and crashed into the bathroom doors. –“Wh . . . what are you doing here?”- he watched at the girl on the bed. Ava. She wore a beautiful light red dress and her hair was now the same color of the dress and up in a perfect hair-do. She watched him with her big blue eyes.

”Chill, Zan. Like ya seen a ghost.” – she said as she got off the bed. –“This town got ya, ya know? Fancy talk and shit like that.”- she said and picked up his tuxido in her hands. She glanced back at him, not understanding why he was so nerveous. –“Don’t ya be silly. Ellie’s my friend. Iz ain’t doing nothing against ‘er.”- she told him.

He slowly walked to her and took the tux from her hands. –“She sent me to make sure ya get dressed in time.”- she said, sitting on the bed. His towell fell from his waist and he quickly started getting dressed. She just watched. –“I kno’ how we had a history but do ya mind!?”- he asked her.

She rolled her eyes and looked at the window and the sun that was strongly braking through. He put on his pants, shirt and finally the jacket before he started messing with the tie. When he picked it up, he noticed that it was no Earth kind of tie. It looked like it but the color was the Antarian’s natural color.

“Yea, Iz knows the tie is from Antar.” – she said, noticing Zan’s look. –“Ellie made it herself.”- he nodded and put it over his collar. But he didn’t know how to tie it. He was ready to turn around and ask Ava to do it but she was already behind him. He let the tie go and she slowly started working on it. –“Ya look good, Zan.”- she said, as their eyes met. He nodded, thanking her, bit he watched carefully what she was doing.

“Thanks. You too.” – he answered her and smiled smiled. She moved a step back a moment after and looked at her work. Zan looked at the long mirror behind him and smiled. She did it perfectly.

“I need to get you downstairs to your bestmen.” – he nodded and followed her out of the room.

***

“God! Who invented this stupid dress?!?!” – Isabel screamed as Maria tried zipping it on the back. But there was no success. –“A very smart woman about 300 years ago, on Mentra.”- a voice came from the doors. Both girls turned and found Ellie there. She walked to Isabel and waved her hand on her back, the zipper went up on its own. She smiled at Isabel. –“Thanks.”

“No problem. You look good.” – Ellie pointed to her bridemates. –“And why haven’t you putten on your wedding dress?”- Maria asked her. Ellie looked at what she was wearing. She was dressed. –

“Maria, I think that is her wedding dress.”- Isabel corrected her friend before Ellie could react.

”What?” – Maria said looking at Ellie again. She took a few stepps back to make sure she was seeing right.

Ellie’s dress was simple, with a V cut and no sleeves. Her dress went tight through her body and at the end, it just went so long that she could see it all the way to the doors. And the color was sort of like their own, only a slight darker.

Her hair was up in a chignon with several peaces of hair in the front and curled. Her lips were red as the dress, as well as her eyelipds in the same red color but barely seen. There was also a black pencil line over her eyes.

“Sorry.”- she added but Ellie only smiled. –“You look great.”- Isabel added and then looked at her hair. She had no idea what she could do with it. Ellie came from the back with a questioned look. Isabel nodded to that and Ellie waved her hand through her hair. It suddenly curled but stayed down. Both smiled.

***

The living room was transformed into a wedding room. At the end of the room, stoo a man in weird Antarian robes. Zan explained to everyone that it was an Antarian priest, here to preform the ceremony.

Looking from the entrance, on the left stood Zan and then Max next to him and then Michael and Rath, the two war commanders were the farthest left.

On the right stood, from the farthest Maria, Isabel and then Ava. Between Ava and Zan stood one more spot, for the bride. Ava held Allie in her arms.

There were a few seats there aswell. Jim, Eleanor sat next to each other exchanging nerveous smiles from time to time. Kyle sat next to them, holding Tom and rolling his eyes to the sight of them. Kal and Ellie were the only ones missing.

Suddenly, the room was filled with music, only the sounds of Whitney Huston’s ‘I will always love you’. Maria and Isabel looked at Ava who explained silently that the song always represents what the pride feels. They nodded, a bit unsure but decided not to ask any questions since, Kal and Ellie appeared on the entrance.

He slowly made the first move and then looked at Ellie a bit unsure of any of this. She smiled so widely, showing her beautiful white teeth and he nodded, a smile appearing on his mouth. They walked slowly, but not the Earth Wedding walk towards Zan. –“Who hands this woman to this man?”- the priest asked. –“Karmal of Ryctor.”- Kal answered. The priest nodded and Kal looked at Ellie.

Seeing the smile on her face, he leaned to her and kissed her on her forehead and then walked away from her, sitting a seat away from Kyle.

“We have gathered on this glorius day, before two great creatures.” – the priest began and everyones attention turned to him. –“Today, we celebrate a union that will be created between these two cretures, and with that, a union between the old and knew ruling will be formed. And a peace will be brought to our worlds.”- Isabel and Max looked at each other.

”Before me, stands the Antarian King Zannder Amayx Jr. and his bride to be Ryctor Heiress Kivana Eli Xothorn. This ceremony begins now.” – Ellie and Zan nodded agreeing. Isabel looked at her brother again, who nodded at Ellie and Zan. Isabel understood right away and nodded. They would leave the two to finish, because they clearly knew what they were doing.

. . .

After about 30 minutes of the priest speaking of wedding and love and several other topics, he finally addressed Zan and Ellie. –“Heiress Kivana Eli Xothorn of Ryctor, do you take this man before you, King Zannder Amayx Jr. of Antar, to be your husband, until the stars command otherwise and until your heart beats?”

”I do, as long as my stars command me and as long as my heart beats.” – she said. The priest turned to Zan. –“King Zannder Amayx Jr. of Antar, do you take this woman before you, Heiress Kivana Eli Xothorn of Ryctor, to be your weded wife, until the stars command otherwise and until your heart beats?”

“I do, as long as my stars command me and as long as my heart beats.” – Zan answered. He reached his hand towards Ellie’s and took it, bringing to his mouth kissed it. She did the same and they looked at the priest.

He walked closer to them and placed his hand over their joined hands and they began to glow. When he moved his hand, they had two same rings over their hands. He looked at Ellie and then Zan. –“Now, wedded, you may kiss your bride, your majesty.”- he told them.

Ellie and Zan nodded and moved closer. As their lips met, Ellie opened her mouth towards him and their tongues met and dueld shortly. They pulled away then and looked at the priest. –“Congradulations, your majesty.”- he said looking at Ellie. –“And thank you.”- she nodded and the man dissapeared.

Zan moved to kiss her again but she felt something strange. She looked towards the entrance with a strange look on her face. Max and Michael instantly walked to her. –“Ellie, what’s wrong?”- Max asked her. She didn’t answer. –“Ava, move closer to the wall with Allie.”- Ava nodded and did as she was told. She motioned her head to Isabel and Maria, along with Jim and Kyle to do the same.

They followed her. Isabel took Tom from Kyle. Kal and Eleanor walked to Ellie. –“What’s wrong?”- they asked her but before she could answer, there was a shout from the other room and they found Nicholas running to them. He barely could, with the skin literally falling from him. He fell on his knees before Ellie and looked at her, straight in the eyes.

“Antar is his!!!! The Lord rules there and your lives shall be in his hands He will have your heads!!!” – Both Rath and Michael moved forward with their hands before them. –“No.”- they heard Ellie say and the next moment, Nicholas dissapeared before them.

Chapter 47

A few hours later, Max found Ellie sitting on the lawn chair in her wedding dress, staring at the water in the swimming pool. He walked to her, with his hands in his pocket. He didn’t say anything but he knew that she knew somehow that he was there. –“You can sit down.”- she finally said, confirming to him that she knew he was here.

He sat in the lawnchair next to her and looked at her, her face was full od dried tears and her make-up was completely ruined. She looked at him for a second and then she returned her gaze towards the pool.

“It’s not your fault, you know.” – he said finally. –“Yea, right. Nothing’s my fault. If I wasn’t so greedy, Khivar wouldn’t be in this position and neither of us would be dead. Everything I ever did I my life hurt the ones I love, one way or the other.”- Max shook his head as she looked at him. –“Don’t you shake your head at me. I know I’m right, Max. Look around. You died, your best friend died, I killed your wife, your sister killed herself because she thought it was her fault. Alex died because I wasn’t on Earth. I could have told you that there was no shapeshifter outthere, not where you were looking. And look and your son, he doesn’t have a mother. I know Tess is a lot of things, but I cannot say that she is trully evil. She’s a mean bitch and everything but I can’t help wondering that I messed something up upthere and she fell into Nasedo’s hands.”- she paused as she looked at his ambers eyes, they reminded her of that day when he saved her life.

“I keep screwing up.” – she finished. –“You did something right. I fell for you and saved your life. You have a wonderful daughter with Zan. You married Zan. God, you love him.”- he finally said. She wondered if he was even trying to help her right now. –“No, Max. The only Zan I ever loved died by the hands of my brother, after seeing what I did to his wife. You and Zan, I love you the same because you are his clones. You’re both apart of him.”- she smiled and leaned forward to him.

He did the same and they found each other so close. She looked at his amber eyes. –“Then why did you marry him?”- he asked her. –“Because he’s a man between you too. You have a life in Roswell and I couldn’t bring myself to take it from you. You deserve at least that.”- she said as she felt his hand going through her face.

She closed her eyes, still loving his touch. She never understood the connection she shared with him, it was nothing like what she had with Zan. She tried to explain to herself that it was because he healed her but it wasn’t the truth and somehow, she knew it. She opened her eyes and moved away.

”Is something wrong?” – he asked her and she shook her head. And then she nodded her head. –“Actually there is something. What Nicholas said. It was a message from Khivar, you know that, Max.” – he narrowed his eyes, listening to her. He did know it but he didn’t want to tell her, since she was giving her brother a chance. Not to mention that his sister was married to him.

Isabel stood by the window and looked at her brother and Ellie. She that they were talking about the note and she knew who was to blame for it. She felt someone was near her. She looked on her side and saw Rath. –“Whatcha ya think they’re talkin’ ‘bout?”- he asked her and she shrugged.

”I’m not . . . I’m trying to make myself believe that they’re not talking about Khivar and the note.” – she told him the truth. –“Iz heard ya got hitched with da dude.”- she nodded. –“Why did ya do it?”- she shrugged.

”I wanted to trust him. I guess I enjoyed his company, since I just lost Alex. You met him when you were Roswell.” – she told him. His crossed his hands over his chest and nodded. –“Dork dude.”- she hugged to his words and nodded, looking at him.

She blinked, making sure she was seeing right. He had changed his outfit as soon as the wedding ended and he now wore baggy greed pants and a black muscle top and military boots. She suddenly felt the urge to lick her lips. She looked at his eyes and noticed he was doing the same thing, or maybe even undressing her with his eyes.

He looked back up at her face and their eyes met. She looked away thinking how he thought she was Lonnie. –“You miss Lonnie, ha?”- she asked him as she looked at him. He narrowed his eyes, not understanding the question. –“Not really. Don’t really miss dad b’tch. She tried to kill me.”- he told her.

”Then why are you checking me out?” – she brough herself to say. She thought she was going to burst into laughter when she saw his look. His eyes widden at the question and he smiled. A smile that was devilish, as well as sweet.

”Iz likes what Iz sees.” – he answered her and she smiled. –“Wana go get bussy?” – she smiled again, thinking that he was joking. When she saw his serious face, the smile vanished from her face, instead it had a question. –“You’re serious.”- he nodded proudly.

“Alright.” – she answered and before she knew it, his big hand took hers and led her upstairs.

Maria and Michael sat on the couch, in the returned living room with Kal across them. He kept looking at Maria and Michael was getting sick of it. –“What?”- he finally asked him. Kal looked at him. –“Nothing. Been wondering how to ask your girlfriend something.”- he explained.

“Excuse me, my name is Maria DeLuca. That is my name. Not Michael Guerin’s girlfriend.” – Maria kicked into the conversation, angry. –“Alright, Maria DeLuca.”- Kal added. –“Ask then.”- Michael pushed.

“Would you like a record deal?” – Kal asked her. Maria’s face glew on the spot. –“Really?”- Kal nodded. –“What’s the catch?”- she asked. –“No catch. Ellie told me that you’re an amazing singer and I’m to take orders from her. She wants you to sing. Your own things, naturally.”- she nodded and looked at Michael who only shrugged.

She moved closer to him and began whispering to him. –“What do you think? Could we survive a bit more of this town?”- he shrugged but then nodded with a smile on his face. He wanted her to be happy. She kissed him and then moved away from him. –“Sure, Kal.”- she said and saw the old protector form a smile on his face.
