I listen quietly to Max's words, not knowing whether I should be more shocked or amused. "Oh no man, please tell me you are kidding?"
Okay, I'm certainly more amused!
Turning to the ferris wheel I indeed see someone wave and wave back before glancing at Isabel while speaking loud enough that Kyle and Tess should hear me too.
"Isabel, wave towards your brother who is stuck in the ferris wheel and waving over at us!"
Did I already say that I'm slightly amused? Yes, I know, I'm a sick sadistic bastard.
"SO, you are afraid of heights, Max? And yet you wave so frantically which could send you flying down? I mean, those carriages aren't that stable, you better just sit down and don't move too much. Oh, is Liz with you?"

"Yes she is and if you want me to kick your arse when I get off this thing your going the right way about it!" I warn him.
I sigh as I stop waving and say, "Did you not notice how the ferris wheel was stuck... how everyone going manic on the ground..." A feeling of nausea passes me again but I ignore it. If he didn't notice...what was he doing that made him not notice...
I'm going to KILL him!!!!!!!!
I say scathingly, "Let me guess.... your with my sister.... I should have known..."
Its then a thought occured to me... Kyle set up Alex in the first place. So why should I feel worried if he does fancy Liz! Screw him!!!

Okay, since Max is still able to get all 'big brother' on me, he can't be that scared of heights but ... he's far away from me right now so a little teasing won't hurt, will it?

"No, I didn't notice and ... you are soooo right." I reply and then bite my lip so I won't start laughing. After a few seconds of silence, I add, "Get your mind out of the gutter, Max. Isabel and I were in the tunnel of fear and then looking for Kyle and Tess when the panic down here started, that's why we didn't notice you up there. I mean, seriously, why else wouldn't we notice that?"
I add the last bit teasingly, knowing fully well what Max probably thought Iz and I were up to. And he's so right with his thoughts, isn't he?
"Uh Max, why are you on the ferris wheel if you are afraid of heights?"

"Oh yeah... I was really going to admit that! Plus I wasn't planning on coming up here for the view! Oh look....see I can do it too." I say scathingly.
"Well thanks for your words of concern. If you would please pass the message on that we're ok for the moment.... juuust sitting tight. Oh and if you see Kyle... tell him that he's got some explaining to do." I say curtly. "Looks like only one of my 'friends' at the carnival deserve that title."
And with that I hang up on him and chuck my phone on the floor angrily. The whole cart makes an almighty squeak and it rocks rather worringly. Great... if this moves fast I can kiss my phone goodbye.
Carefully I reach down to try and grab it. The cart continues to rock and I grab my phone carefully before straightening up and putting my arm round Liz protectively, not saying a word.

Occ: You guys, the Alex/Max phone call just cracked me up! Great...no fantastic posts! Oh, and I thought that in the next post or so, Max and Liz will make it off the ferris wheel in one piece. LOL! What do y'all think?

I can't help but feel sorry for Max. We have to get him down from here soon. He's going to end up losing it if he doesn't. I let him hold me close, just rubbing light, gentle, soothing circles on his chest with one hand and on his back with the other. I'm trying to calm him down but I'm not sure if it's working. He still seems pretty upset about the Kyle situation and I just don't get it. First of all, why would Kyle lie about that night to Max. He's certainly never seemed to have any kind of feelings about me other than friendly and then too he seemed pretty smitten with Tess last night. Then too, I don't get Max's reaction to the whole situation. I mean, he's a player and I thought he realized that I was one, or at least had been, too.
But I certainly don't want this to be an issue between Max and I or Kyle and Max or even Kyle and I. Taking a deep breath, I question tentatively, "Max? Look, I know you're upset about the whole Kyle thing but..." I take a deep breath and continue, not sure where I'm trying to go with all this, "I really like you and I don't want this to be an issue between us...no matter what Kyle's feelings are about it. But I really don't want to come between friends either. Just...I guess if there's something I can do to help the situaiton or put your mind at ease or...whatever, just say so and I'll do what I can."
I can't interpret the look on his face as he turns those gorgeous eyes on me. I desperately hope that he'll find a way to loosen up about all this, because even though it might be a good sign that he's jealous of the idea of Kyle and I together...I don't want him to be upset over something like that.

I grin down at Tess but then I notice that she's got this intense look on her face and I wonder what put it there. Alex's words cause me to look up at the top of the ferris wheel, however, and I groan. "Poor guy. Max hates heights!" Then I frown at Alex's words. "Max said I have some explaining to do? What about?" I rattle my brain for anything I might have done recently to piss my friend off but I come up blank.
I shrug. "I can't think of anything I've done lately. Maybe he's just mixed up about something or can't get enough oxygen to his brain up there." Sighing, I look down at Tess. "Your choice. Shall we wander over to the ferris wheel and be the good friends or bail on them and go through the tunnel?"
