Occ: Sorry about the delay, guys. You wouldn't believe the way my life has been going the past week! ACK!

Tess and I chat for a while, sitting on that bench and I'm content to just sit here with her. Then I feel a vibrating in my pocket and realize that my phone has been ringing. It stops before I can pick up and I notice it was Alex calling. I hit redial to call him back and wink at Tess. She certainly seems to have cooled off from whatever had her upset last night. Maybe it was just nerves or something. Whatever it was she doesn't offer an explanation or mention it and I, being the gentleman that I am, don't bring it up.

He really is starting to panic and I feel sorry for him. "Ok, let's see, Maria or Tess," I mumble, trying to think of something. The first thing that comes to mind is kind of a funny story and I nod as I smile and begin. "Ok, when Maria and I were young, maybe around 10 or 11, we started noticing boys and just started to really develop crushes on them. Well, there was this one boy in our class that everyone seemed to like, he already had that charm thing going for him and he could make people laugh and was that class clown that even the teachers couldn't be mad at. Anyway, his name was Todd and he was every girl's first crush. Well, Maria was the lucky girl he picked to be his girlfriend and she was so excited. I was jealous but also happy for her. She was pretty proud of herself and everything for about a week, but then she spent the night one weekend, I think it was a Friday, and she told me that she was afraid of something. When I asked her what it was, she admitted that she was afraid he would try to kiss her and she wouldn't know how.
"I told her that it looked pretty easy on TV and she said she didn't see how they kept from bumping noses or foreheads. I don't remember who suggested it but we finally decided to practice on each other. It was pretty weird and we laughed about it and couldn't really practice because we couldn't stop laughing. I think we might have gotten two kisses in before we gave up and practiced on our hands. Well, the next school day, Maria came over after school to play and she told me that she had dumped Todd. I was surprised and asked her why. She laughed and said that she couldn't go out with anyone who couldn't kiss her better than I could." I laugh at the memory and finish by telling him, "She said Todd kept hitting her teeth or her nose or her head and she finally told him to try with someone else. Now whenever someone asks who our first kiss was we always joke and say each other. You wouldn't believe the responses we get from it."
I watch Max to see if my story is helping and he does look a little less green and pale. I'm also curious to see what his reaction will be to it. Most guys get turned on by the mental picture of me and Maria making out...not that it was anywhere close to that but that's what they picture anyway.
