I smile at her and move to sit on the bed beside her. I pull her into my arms and lean back against the headboard. Placing a kiss on the top of her head I let out a sigh. "I know you are, but there is nothing to worry about. I am tired and trying to balance my responsibilities with spending time with you and trying to change my behavior...it's a lot to handle, Lon. I don't need your worry to add to the mix. I need you to help keep me sane." I chuckle and rub my hands up and down her arms, absently.

Isabel

"...I need you to help keep me sane." those eight words are all I need to accept his explanation.I just need to know that he needs me,that he will lean on me and not turn away and become a stranger again

"I'm here for you." I whisper against his neck and place a light kiss on his collarbone before pulling away and getting up off the bed to slip my sandals on

"It will only be a few minutes till we reach my father's office."

I nod. "Ok" I reply, at a loss for what else to say. I follow behind Michael, who follows Alexander towards the King's office. But who I really want to meet is my soon-to-be-wife.

"This is a beautiful place" I say trying to start a conversation.

ALEX

"This is a beautiful place"

I smile at this attempt to start a conversation. "Thank you, it certainly is. We'd like to keep it that way which is one of the many reasons why we are so keen on not having a war."

After a few silent minutes, we finally reach my father's office. "Here it is. I'm sure he is already expecting us." I knock briefly, not even waiting for an answer before opening the door.

"Father, our ... guests have arrived."

I look up as Alex comes in. "Father, our ... guests have arrived," he says and I wave him in. "Yes, yes, Alex, thank you. Show them in." As the three young men step inside, I study the two "guards" carefully. I wonder which one is my future son-in-law. Nodding at Alex, I say, "Will you please tell your sister and cousin that the two guards from Antar have arrived, Alex?" No need for him to know just yet. I love my son dearly but if Maria finds out he knows something she doesn't, she usually pesters him until he finally breaks down and tells her or simply lets it slip. I don't want to put him in that position because then eventually, Lizzie will know who these guards are...or at least one of them.

Just after reassuring me, Lonnie gets up and puts her sandals on. "Where are you going?" I ask her, a little disappointed that she moved out of my arms so soon. I was just getting comfortable.

ALEX

I frown slightly when my father tells me to leave. I was honestly expecting to be here during the talk. Oh well, if that's what he wants.

"Sure, I will." I tell him before turning to the bodyguards, "It was nice meeting you, I'm sure we'll see us again."

With that, I'm outside the room, slowly heading towards my sister's. So far, those two guards seem pretty ... well, guarded but then, they just arrived, might take some time for them to relax slightly.

Reaching Liz's room, I knock, this time waiting for someone to answer before barging in.

Isabel

"Where are you going?" he asks,a hint of disappointment in his voice

Turning my head back to look at him I grin,"To meet a very handsome young man." I watch as his expression becomes thunderous before I laugh "To meet Tess obviously,you silly man.You're the only handsome young man I will be meeting later on." Placing a quick kiss on his forehead I move away before he can get hold of me,"I'll see you later."

A moment later I am outside Tess' door and I knock,"Tess,are you awake?"

Elisabeth

"O Maria," I sigh, but have to smile when I hear her giggle. "You're hopeless. It's really time for you to marry." I tease back and then someone knocks at my door. Still undressed, I panic for a moment . "One moment, please." I call and grab the red dress that Maria has pulled out of my wardrobe. Quickly I slip in the soft gown. Then I hurry to the door and open it. Alex leans to the wall and smiles at me. Grabbing him by his sleeve I try to pull him in my rom. "Come in, Alex." I really want to know what he has to tell me.

Isabel

"Yeah, I'm awake and it's a good thing you got me because if you had come a few moments later I may have been dead to the world."

"I thought we could go for a walk in the gardens and then catch up on what's been happening in our lives." I lean against the wall as I wait for her reply

Isabel

"Of course, I would love to." she says and takes my arm
We walk in silence till we reach the relative privacy of the gardens before I speak,"I'm glad you decided to visit us at this time.A few days ago I thought I was going to lose my mind but things are better now.Much better."
