"I'm staying. Definitely." I tell the nurse. "I'm not going anywhere sweetie." I tell Liz kissing her forehead. "It's going to be alright sweety, I promise you."

I stand there, not sure what I should do to help. This was Zan's moment to be with Liz. I stand there waiting to see if I could help at all.

Nurse:
"Okay..." She told Zan. She then pulled back to covers exposing Liz, and prepared her for the delivery. "Okay...when you get the next pains...I want you to push as hard as you can okay."
Liz:
I nod, but then see that Mary is starting to get up, and I stop her--"stay please.." I grabbed her arm. I looked back at Zan and tried to smile, but a sudden wave of pain took over instead. "Okay..." I told her and she nodded, counted to three and I started to push...
Nurse:
"Keep pushing...I can see the head..."
Liz:
I stopped as soon as it the pain ended. but as soon as it ended it began again, and I continued to push, but this time the pain was much greater and I screamed out as Zan still held my hand.
Nurse:
"your doing great... Just one more push...The head is out...Liz...just one more push..." She exclaimed.
Liz:
"I can't ..." I cried--the pain was taking all my energy. I looked at Zan.

"Sweetie, I'm right here, you can do this. I know you can. I love you Liz" I say stroking her cheek. I tried to connect to her, to allow my energy to flow into hers.
"You can do this Liz. I'm right here."

Nurse:
Liz, just one more push.." She told her camly.
Liz:
I nodded, at both her words as well as Zans--"Okay.." and on the next rush of pain... washed over me. I began to push... and I heard a baby crying when I was done."
Nurse:
"It's a boy..." She announced and holded him up.. "you..." She pointed at Mary as soon as she cleane the baby up and wrapped him in a fresh clean towel. "Hold him... please...the other is comming.." Mary rushed to recieve the child. "Okay...Liz just one more push."
Liz:
I smiled, but then it faded once the pain took me over again...I pushed with everything I had inside of me, and heard another faint cry--I smiled at Zan as The wave of pain was over.
Nurse:
"It's a girl!!" she smiled as she cleaned and wrapped the baby in a towel and handed her to her father. "Congratuations..."
Liz:
I beamed happily as Mary handed me my son... "Hello there...I'm your mama...nice to meet you." I whispered to him as I kissed Zan sweetly on the lips.

I smile as I hand over there beautiful son to them. Then I stand back and watch the couple's happy faces.

I can't believe it. Im a father.
I'm a father.
Me.
Oh my god.
"There so tiny and beautiful." I whisper. "Well done sweety" I tell Liz kissing her softly without taking my eyes off the children.

Liz:
The nurse finished cleaning me up--I had to change my night gown, so I handed the baby to Mary and the nurse helped me with that I could barely stand let alone walk, but I made it. The servants put fresh sheets on the bed, and helped me back into bed.
Nurse:
"All she needs now is rest." she told everyone in the room.
Liz:
I nodded, I could feel myself drifing into a heavy sleep of exhaustion--3 hours later... my children were born, and all was well in the Evans household.

"I think I'm gonna leave you guys to it. Congratulations you guys" I tell them carefully giving the children back to Liz.

"Thanks Mary" I say as she leaves the room. I'm sitting in a chair besides the bed. I want Liz to be as comfortable as possible right now, and Im thinking that this is the best place to be.
I know I still haven't actually held them or touched them, but one, Im scared I'll hurt them, and two I think Liz needs more time with them first.
"Are you ok? Can I get you anything?" I ask quietly.

Liz:
"No...i'm just tired..." I motioned for him to sit next to me... I really needed him next to me, "I guess the honeymoon is post poned for a bit. I smiled up at him as I share a kiss with him and say..."I love you.."

I hesistantly sit on the bed, quite near the edge. "I love you too sweety. And don't worry about the honeymoon. I can easily rebook another time. Besides we have the rest of our lives to do that if we want to." I tell her kissing her on the forehead.

Liz:
"Would you like to meet your daughter?" I asked him, but before he could reply I was already giving him the baby, "Careful, hold the head--I smiled him as his face brightened, in almost an instant in recieveing the bundle of joy. "Say Hello to your Father..." I whispered to the baby. "Zan you're going great..." I smiled.
