Yes, there's something about those melancholy songs that make them so beautiful, even though they're absolutely heartbreaking. Glad you enjoyed the song from Daughter... that's one of my recent favorites!
Another song I've been loving recently is this tune from Rhye, entitled "Open."

Ha! My computer played it the other day randomly (I always have my iTunes on shuffle, so I never know what kind of music will be played next), and it made me so happy!

Storm Returns by Prefuse 73.
SUUUUUCH a sweetly sexy little beat to it. I had to listen to it while I was writing a few scenes of Someone, Anyone.
Actually, all of Prefuse 73's stuff is damn good.
