Amy:

I woke earlier this morning.. "Morning darling!" I yawed as I got up and got ready for the day.

Jim:

I jerk up in a sleepless motion... " What!" I exclaimed and realized that Amy must've said something... I looked at the clock, "it's barely 9AM what... it's still early...usually I didn't get up until 12PM. But since I was awake, I thought I should get up just this once for my wife.


Max:

I woke up and walked to the kitchen, and poured myself a cup of coffee thoughts of last night trailed back into my mind, my thought were of Lady Tess Harding, but then out of the corner of my mind Elizabeth rolled into my head--intriging my thoughts, shoving lady tess out of the picture--I got out of my daydream and shook myself. What as that I couldn't stand her...why did she intrigue my so much? I thought to myself. I have to take a cold shower, and once I did I got ready to meet everyone back at the palace.

I awoke and saw that it was 8.45am,damn that stupid clock,it didn't ring again,I cursed silently

Now I'll have to race around and get ready.I showered like a maniac,splashed on my favourite after-shave and got dressed and ran downstairs.

"Hello girls!" I looked around the room and noticed Tess wasn't anywhere to be seen..."where's Tess?" I asked the three of them

Yup, he's totally whipped. "I don't know, I haven't seen her yet. She's probably still asleep." I answered smiling.

I smile as I wake up. What a beautiful morning!
I quickly hurry to bathe and dress. What a great day this will be!

Amy:

I went downstairs--dressed in my house clothes..just causual jeans and a top. "hello everyone--how was your evening?" I asked everyone but I made sure not to look at my daughter.

I looked around my room, chewing my bottom lip. I didn't know what to wear; I had never been riding before. I threw on one of my morning dresses, which was much plainer than my evening dress, and made myself look presentable. I figured I'd go downstairs and ask someone what I should wear. Then I'd just come back up and change if need be.

I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen, noticing the cozy little party.

"Good morning," I said politely, smiling.

I smile. "Hey Tess! Have a good nights sleep?" I say smiling. I notice my mother asking the others about ther evenings...she must be up to something I decided. Well I wasn't about to answer her question. I completely ignore my mothers presence.

"Thank you Mary," I said to the maid as she brought me my coffee. I took a deep sniff, letting the scent fill me. Then I turned to Maria's mother.

"Good morning, Aunt Amy. And yes, the dinner was lovely." I said; it wasn't as if I could tell her the truth. Instead I just smiled and drank my coffee.

I opened my mouth uncertainly, wondering if Amy was talking to me. It was funny; she was my aunt, but I didn't feel like I knew her at all. I settled for nodding and smiling, figuring it was the most polite way to go.

"Hey Tess! Have a good nights sleep?" Maria asked next to me. I quickly nodded.

"Yes, it was lovely. Your house it quite homey." I complemented her. I noticed Kyle walk into the kitchen, and quickly excused myself and walked over to him. I was still a bit wary of him, but I needed to know what to wear for riding. In fact, I needed to be taught how to ride.

"Good morning Kyle. I was wondering if you knew the appropriate dress for horse riding?" I asked sweetly.

*Last night...*

"Good night Maria." I said, smiling and walking away quickly before I couls screw anything up. I said goodnight to the guys and went up to my room, not sleeping because I couldn't stop thinking about Maria. Oh well, at least I'll see her tomorrow, I thought, finally closing my eyes.


*The next morning*

I walked into the living room after getting dressed quickly. "Hello ladies," I said, giving a little mock-bow-thing. "Are you ready to ride some horses?" I asked, wandering over towards Maria. "Good Morning Maria, nice to see you again, I said, quickly kissing her hand. What was so different about this girl?

Kyle

"Oh hey Tess!Looks like you had a good nights sleep" I said smiling at her

She still seemed a little weary.I told myself to be a little less enthusiastic about her today,not so much as to give Max an opening but just enough to keep her from running

"You'll want to put on a pair of pants,say riding breeches/jodhpurs if you have a pair,otherwise I'm sure Maria will gladly lend you one of hers.But a pair of jeans also will do just fine." I said and turned away to talk to Liz

"Lizzie was Max getting on your nerves last night?I saw you two talking,he can be quite trying at first." I said laughing

After Kyle had told me what to wear, he brushed me off to talk to Liz. I felt annoyance rush through my system, and I scolded myself for it. If I was going to be distant to him, he was perfectly within his right to distance me. I just didn't expect it to hurt this much.

Shaking this off, I turned to Maria. "Maria, and I borrow a pair of breeches?" I asked.

I gave an unladylike snort. "At first?" I said scathingly, "I'm quite positive he's always like that. A man like that doesn't change." I realized I was being a bit harsh, but Max just irked me. I didn't know why, but he got on my every last nerve.
