I sigh and look at her. "Yeah okay." I tell her. I give her a quick kiss on her forehead. I take her by the hand and lead her back into the main room.
"Hey" I said. It was then I registered Michael. He had moved across the room and was now standing by the sink. He didn't look well...like he had thrown up or something.
"Michael" I said going towards him. "Michael are you ok? Here let me help" I say outstretching my hand.

I jerk away from him before he touches me. "I don't need your help Batman" I mutter.

I look at him in astonishment...did he just call me Batman?
"What? Batman?" I say confused.
He just looks at me. Looks me dead on. Then he moves as far away from me as possible.
"You know Michael" I said following him. "I thought you might apologise to me."

I know. I know that's what he expects, and probably what he deserves, but I can't hack it anymore. Im through being his Robin. Actually....Im more like his butler Alfred. The guy who's always there that no one knows about.
I completely ignore him. I know right now, that if I leave, they would only follow me. Besides...I want to see Isabel's reaction to this new...."development".

"Well is someone going to tell us..." I asked as I took Isabels hand in mine.

"And then Michael came in and decide to use his power to smash me into a few walls. And Liz remembered something, that Nasedo had said. That she can't get pregnant until after we're married. So since we can't do that until we're 21, we don't have to worry about that right now."
I turn to Michael.
"What the hell is wrong with you Michael?" I ask in a calm voice. "What I can't understand is why you would use your powers on me. Why Michael?"

I look from Michael to Max and put the whole superhero thing togther...Robin...Batman...he think he's only second best...he wants to be the head hancho. "Max..." I pull him a little ways away from everyone else. "I think Michael is feeling neglected...I mean look at him! Get it Robin... Batmans second hand man...Get it...second best...that's how he always feels--second best to you. Everyone looks up to you first and then to him...after awhile...It can really get to a person...don't you think? What if you were in his shoes...what would you do? How would you react..." I whispered to him. I let him think about that for a moment or two. I looked at everyone else... " Can I get anyone anything to drink..."
Alex:
"I take water..." Isabel looked at me... "what she asked.."
Liz:
"One bottled water comming up..." I smiled as I walked away from Max---

I don't get it. Call me nieve or whatever, but he always seemed fine to me. He always seemed to want to hang around with me.
Thats when it kicks in. He wants to hang around with me to get a taste at what being me is like.

"Michael your my best friend. You can always come talk to me, don't you know that. Im always here to listen to you. I...I don't want you to feel second best to me."

I nod vaguely. God I feel like shit. Everyone knew he felt like this except me then? Great. Just great.
What a great king of this other planet id make. Make my best friend feel like shit, my sister who has remained pretty much mute since she came in, and Liz....well Liz is the exception. But I'd still make a bad King.
I sit back at the table and pull a book towards me. They all know Im not studying. But it gives me something to look at right now.
