I look back and I can just make out the figures of Maria and Michael talking.
Maria...I hope Michael treated her well...if he didn't...I would have to kill him.

I noticed that he kept looking back so I asked,"Who or what are you looking at?"

"Oh....I....you were talking about Michael so I just looked back to see what there all doing." I answered.
It was the truth after all...it's just I was also looking at Maria as well.

"I think they've all forgotten about you and me.If we didn't go back in tonight they wouldn't realise we're gone till morning" I said jokingly

looked after her as she stormed off, and smirked. " You like me don't you Lady Elizabeth--Just admit it, I'm sure it's just killing inside, keeping it all bottled up inside for this long. Love at first sight isn't it... ahh I know...it's how I felt when I first saw Tess--but she' s spoken for right now... so, you are my last result--keep me company until Kyle resides for the night. "

Ouch. I didn't want to admit it, but when he had said he was in love with Tess, it felt like a knife to my heart. Which really confused me; why on earth did I care?! He was an egotistical jerk with one thing on his mind.

"Love?" I scoffed without looking at him. "Try lust. Love at first sight doesn't exist, especially not for someone like you," I replied, and then, feeling slightly protective of my cousin, "and don't you dare go near her! She's innocent and naive, and it better stay that way! I don’t want you trying seduce her only to leave the very next day." I warned him.

He looked slightly shocked. “What, surprised? You shouldn’t be; father and mother drilled into my head for years how men such yourself are, and how I should beware of them. So, while I am innocent, I am hardly naïve.” I said. “ In short, Count Maxwell, don’t waste your time, or your flattery.”

I laugh. "Yeah...I wonder if they would actually notice then!" I remark. "They all look too busy with there companion to notice...well except Max and Liz...what is Max's problem tonight! He's like a bear with a soar head!"

"Oh I think I know why...you see Kyle is interested in Tess and it seems to be mutual...anyway from what I noticed early this evening Max also made a bee-line for Tess and I think that is why Kyle and Max went aside for a few moments to settle the issue." I informed him very pleased with my analytical powers

"Ah...well....that doesn't look too good...cos Max...well he seems to be staring at her a lot..." I say. "So that leaves Kyle and Tess dancing and Max and Liz...well argueing...and .....Michael and... Maria talking." I say.

I had started shivering slightly inspite of having Alex's coat around my bare shoulders...
"Let's head back in Alex,it's starting to get really chilly out here."I said
