People Magazine on-line has finally reported on the birth ... for more news, go here.

Good lord ... did she squeeze that 9 pounder out or did she have a C-section? *shudders* Also, loved the fact that her daughter's middle name is the feminized verson of her last name.

Good question.

I think she may have gone the natural way, or at least that's my assumption, because
she's mentioned having a doula during her pregnancy, and most likely during the birthing
process, as well. Usually having a doula enclines some mothers to take the natural method -
of foregoing epidurals, c-sections, and opting for vaginal birth. But seeing how big the baby
is, anything may go when the time comes, despite what the original plans may have been.

Plus, c-sections (though, the majority of the time are
unnecessary) occur often, for convenience sake.

Anyhoo... I really love her name... Cecilia Delphine.

Her name flows beautifully, and it’s very well thought out.

Not only is Majandra paying homage to her family name, it struck me that,
she’s also transferring her love of music and the arts (in a very tangible way,
a living, breathing way) by giving her daughter that name.

Delphine reminds me of the ancient oracle of Delphi, which Apollo
the sun god, who also has connections to music, took over.

And Saint Cecilia, of the Catholic Church, is also connected to music.

Add to that, the fact that their daughter was born on the day
given to the Muses (June 14), it all seems very auspicious.

Perhaps young Cecilia Delphine Walton will someday grow up to be a
musically talented, singing siren, like her mother... and... who knows...

... a modern-day soothsayer in her own right.

I just read this over at Entertainment Weekly's online site (EW.com):

'Office' spinoff scoop: 'Roswell' actress cast as Dwight's sister
by James Hibberd

NBC’s Office spin-off plan just took another step closer to reality.

Actress Majandra Delfino has been cast in the NBC project, titled The Farm. The comedy focuses on Dwight Shrute (Rainn Wilson) working as beet farmer and running a bed and breakfast. Former Office showrunner Paul Lieberstein is writing the script.

Delfino will play Fannie Schrute, described as Dwight’s “pseudo-intellectual lefty” younger sister, who previously fled from Schrute farm life for Boston. Delfino has previously appeared on TV shows like Roswell, Quarterlife and State of Georgia.
