Chapter 20
At Maria's house...
"We have to find Max. He's so upset, i don't know what he will do," Isabel said as she collected herself. Everyone nodded.
They collected their jackets and walked out the door. "Where could he have gone?" Michael asked. He didn't know Max that well, so he was cluless about where he would have gone.
"The park," Liz said, "He likes to go to the park to think."
With that, the gang got into thier cars and headed to the park.
At the park...
Max ran as fast as he could to the center of the park. Then he collapsed on the ground sobbing. He was helpless. The love of his life had been kidnapped by an alien and he didn't know how to help her.
She must be so scared, Max thought as he cried. Then he saw headlights coming toward him. He squinted into the light. It was the gang. Max really didn't want to talk to anyone, but he knew that were worried about him. When they really needed to come up with a way to save Maria.
Isabel rushed out of the car to Max. "Max, are you ok?" she asked as the rest of the group joined her.
"No, Isabel, I'm not ok. Maria is with that guy...that alien. He is hurting her, and she is scared. i promised nothing would happen to her, and i can't help her. I'm so fucking far from ok, Iz." Max said as he stood up.
"Max, i know how you feel, man. Maria is the most important person to me in the world, next to my dad and Tess. i'm just as livid as you. But we have to pull it together and think about how to save her." Kyle said chocking up. He knew tears were comming. Finally he broke down. Isabel turned her attention to Kyle and held him as he sobbed.
"OK, well what do we do?" Alex asked. He hadn't known Maria very long, but he did care for her a great deal, and he hated that she was alone and scared, probably hurt.
Everyone looked down to the ground. They had nothing. Then and idea popped into Liz's head, "Wait, what about that time that Isabel left town. Max, you found her becuase you felt her. Maybe you could do that again if we all concentrait."
Max thought about it, "Yeah, but Isabel and i are family and aliens. Maria isn't. I dont know if it would work."
Michael smiled at Liz, she was the only one to come up with a productive idea. "Well, it's worth a try, Maxwell." he said.
Max nodded. The group moved into a circle, holding hands. Max next to Michael, next to Liz, next to Alex, next to Tess, next to Kyle, next to Isabel and back to Max. They closed thier eyes and concentrated on Maria and he essence.
Suddenly, they were hit with a pang of fear. Images of Maria being beaten and raped flashed in front of thier eyes. They all gasped. Kivar had Maria tied up as he ripped her clothes off.
The group knew that this wasn't getting them anywhere. They moved thier minds deeper into the room. They were looking for clues as to where they were. Liz noticed a familiar symbol on the floor of the room. Just as she got a good look, Maria screamed and they were pushed out of the room.
"Oh My God," Tess cried and collapsed into Alex's arms. Isabel threw up in the bushes, remembering the sight of Maria's attack. Kyle helped her, but he was steaming. All he could think about was ripping Kivar apart, peice by peice.
Michael held on to Liz tighter than he needed to and Max stared off into space. Then Liz spoke, "I think i know where Maria is."
Everyone dropped what they were doing. "Where?" Max almost yelled as he was snapped out of his thoughts.
"It was the symbol on the floor. I've seen it. Its in an old wearhouse outside of town. My dad used to get supplies from the crashdown. It was abandoned about 5 years ago." Liz said as calmly as she could.
Michael hugged her. Thank God. Now thy could go and get Maria, and hopfully she wasn't as hurt as he feared she was.
With Maria...
'That was weird,' Maria thought as she lay in the bed cold and naked. She thought she felt her friends with her. But it couldn't be. They would never find her. She would be in here forever with Kivar.
Maria cried herself to sleep as her dreams sliped to Max. It was the only way she could be with him and feel safe. In her dreams.

Chapter 21
The group all went back to thier houses, and dressed in Black. They were going to sneek into this abandoned wearhouse and get Maria out. They didn't know how many people were in there, but they didn't have any choice.
They all met up at the Crashdown, ready to go. "So, what is the plan?" Kyle asked. Everyone looked at Max.
"We are going to go to the wearhouse and get Maria back. But i was thinking. Maybe it would be better if just Isabel, Me, Tess, and Michael went. We can protect ourselves. I dont want anyone else getting hurt."
Liz clung to Michael and shook her head. "No, I'm not leaveing you. Besides, i want to help Maria too. And i know the warehouse."
Kyle was pissed, "No, Max. She is like my sister. There is no way i'm jsut going to stay here and wait."
Alex nodded, "We are in this together. We all care about Maria, and we are all going to help."
Tess wrapped her arms around Alex, "Yeah, we need everyone. We will get her back. There is no other option."
Then they all jumped into the jeep and mustang, and headed down the road out of town to the wearhouse. When they pulled up, and got out of the car, they saw lights on on the top floor.
"THey must be up there," Tess said, and they made thier way to the building.
Quietly, they sneeked in, without anyone's knowlege. Then Max began to feel Maria's presence. "Hey," he whispered, "I feel Maria. She's here." Then, he began leading the way. He felt her presence stronger with each step they acended the stairway.
Finally, at the top of the stairs, Max turned right. The gang followed him trusting his instincts. They heard voices comming from the first room. They were male voices.
Max peeked through the crack and saw Kivar with on of his gaurds. Kyle noticed them too and began to charge. Michael stopped him, "Kyle. We have to get Maria out of here first."
Just then Max heard a whimper. It was Maria. He rushed as quietly as he could to the room with the noise, the gang close behind. He slowly pushed the door open, making sure that no one was in the room with her.
The group saw Maria, laying there, barely covered by a tattered sheet. Her body looked bruised and broken. Kyle ran to her and shook her to conciousness. "Maria, Wake up."
Her eyes fluttered open, "Kyle? Am i dreaming again?" she said alowed and began crying again.
"No, babe, you arn't dreaming. We are going to get you out of here. Can you stand up." He asked. Maria tried to stand up and cover herself at the same time. but she fell against Kyle, crying.
"I can't. It hurts. I can't move too much." she said hopelessly. She didn't think she would ever get out of this hell hole.
"I'll carry you." Kyle said. There was no way he was leaving her now, besides she was too thin and he was a wrestler. HE could handle it.
We picked her up easily in his arms and the sheet fell from her naked body. Isabel and Liz rushed to him, covering her up. The could see that she was ashamed of her nakedness.
"Thank you," she squeeked out.
The group began making thier way out the hallway and down the stairs again as quietly as possible. They were not so lucky. Just as they reached the first floor, they heard laughter.
Maria clung to Kyle tighter. "It's him. he won't let me go." she cried. Kyle kissed her forhead and said it would be alright.
Max turned to his friends. "Kyle, Liz, and Alex. Get her out of here. Take her back to your house, Kyle. We will deal with Kivar." he said in a nononsence tone.
They nodded and ran out of the wearhouse with Maria. Liz and Alex held her as a worried Kyle drove home. Maria had been in and out of consiousness the whole ride.
Back at the wearhouse...
"Where have you taken my wife?" Kivar asked. He was not happy that Maria had gotten away.
"She is not your wife. And we have taken her back. You are never to come near her again." Max said in full on King mode.
"Well, Well, Well, the King is hear to piss on his property. Well, i'm king now. And if i want Maria as my bride then i will take her." Kivar answered and through a bolt of energy at the group hitting Tess. She fell to the ground.
Max instinctivly put up his barrier, which he didn't know until that moment he had.
"Leave us alone, or i will kill you." Max said and they turned and left taking the unconsious, Tess with them. They couldnt deal with Kivar right now. They didn't have the strength or know how.
Outside, they jumped into the jeep and headed to Kyle's. "That the hell was that Max? We need to kill that bastard." He could not belive that Max let him go.
"I know. And we will. BUt we doing have the ability right now. We need to make a plan. We need to make sure Maria is ok. Then we will kill him. Trust me, i want him dead as much as u do." Max answered.
Isabel and Michael knew he was right. But they still wanted to kill Kivar.
When they reached the Valenti's Max carried Tess inside and they found Kyle, Alex, and Liz surrounding the unconcious Maria.
Alex rushed to Tess. "What happened." He demanded.
"She will be ok. She was just knocked out. I'm going to heal her." Max said and she laid her down and placed his and on her head. Seconds later Tess's eyes opened.
"Is that ass-hole dead?" she asked.
"No," Max answered sullenly, "We will kill him, but he is just to strong right now."
Then, everyone's attention turned to the door opening.
"Who could that be?" Kyle asked.
There were all suprised to see who it was.

Chapter 22
"DAD!" Kyle yelled as his father walked into the house.
Sheriff Valenti assesed the situations and demanded, "What the hell is going on? What is wrong with Maria?"
All of the teenages looked down. How were they supposed to explain this. Sure, Valenti knew about Tess. BUt he didn't know about the rest of them, and Maria had never told him about the rape, even when Michael pleaded with her to.
Finally Kyle spoke, "She's hurt dad. And it's a long story. Michael, Max and Isabel are aliens like Tess. Maria was raped last summer by and alien Kivar. He kidnampped her two days ago and we just got her back." he summed up.
The Sheriff took all of this in and then became livid. Who would do somthing liek that to Maria. She looked to cold and thin and scared. He really did see her as a daughter, so the tought of that alien hurting her made him see red. "Well we have to get her conscious." he said.
Max jumped into action. He placed his hand on her body to see what all was wrong with her. "Can i have we have some privacy? I dont want to heal her like this in front of everyone." he asked.
They all nodded, Kyle lifted Maria up and carrried her to his bed room. Then he left Max alone.
In the living room...
Kyle walked downstais and looked at his father. he knew that his dad was just as angry and upset as he was. "Dad. I'm sorry we never told you about the rape, but Maria made us promise."
"It's ok son. I understandl. But we have to find a way to get this guy who did this to her." Jim said.
Michael spoke up, "He is stronger than us, and has gaurds. He is holed up in the old warehouse outside of town."
Jim sat on the couch thinking as the thre rest of the group comforted each other.
In Kyle's room...
Max walked over to Maria's broken form. He knew that she had a broken rib. A broken coller bone. Bad bruising around her eye, and significant damage to her vagina and anus.
It was hard for him to look at her. Not becuase she was less attractive. But because she looked so vulnerable. That girl, known for her charisma, was laying here on Kyle's flannel sheets broken and defeated.
Max started by healing the broken bones first. The ned bruising. Maria slipped abck into consiousness. "Max?" she asked.
"It's me." he said and kissed her forhead and then her lips.
Maria began crying again. "Baby, i need to heal you." Max said, not wanting to eleborate. Maria knew what he meant.
She was ashamed, but nodded and opened herself up to him. HE mad quick work of healing her most intimate parts, adn then pulled her into his arms. "I'm so sorry." He said to her.
"Stop," She said looking into his eyes, "You have nothing to be sorry about. Dont' blame yourself." She was serious. She didn't want Max feeling responsible for her.
"I should have been there," Max answered. He didn't know how he was ever going to make things ok for Maria again. She had been through so much.
"No," Maria said, "i dont want to talk about this. Will you just hold me?" Max didn't need to be asked twice. He wrapped his arms tightly around Maria and held her.

Chapter 23
Max and Maria decended the stairs and made thier way back into the living room. Tess and Kyle rushed her her, hugging her. "Are you ok?" Tess asked. She knew that MAria was far from ok.
"Yeah, I'll be fine." Maria said looking down. She was quite embarrased about the whole situation. She saw Jim and kenw that he knew what had happened to her. It was weird for everyone to know waht was going on in her life. She tended to keep a lot of things inside.
Max lead Maria to the couch, "Thank you guys for saving me," she said to everyone.
Jim knelt down in front of Maria, "Maria, i'm so sorry i wasn't here for you. Look, we are going to get this guy and make sure he never hurts you again. Are you ok though, physically? Do you need a hospital?"
Maria shook her head, "No, I'm fine. Max healed me. But can you not tell my mom about this? I can't explain the alien thing to her."
Jim reluctantly agreed, "Fine, but i dont want you to be alone. I think you better stay with us when you're mom is out of town." Jim was going to put his foot down.
"Ok, you're probably right. Iknow Kivar is going to come after me. But can Max stay with me? I feel safer with him." Maria asked. She hated asking for help, but she knew she needed it.
Jim sighed. He didn't liek the idea of Max and Maria sleeping together, but he was willing to do anything to make maria feel safe. "Yeah, that's fine."
Everyone else hugged Maria and said thier goodbyes. Micahel was the hardest one to get to leave, but Liz finally dragged him out of the house. He just still felt guilty about Maria being kidnapped on his watch.
After everyone was gone, Kyle and Tess sat with Maria as Jim took Max into the kitchen.
"Max, i want to talk to you about Maria. First, i want to say thank you for helping her. Also, i know that you guys are dating. Or whatever. I know that you really care about her. But i want you to knwo that she is like my daughter, and if you do anything to hurt her, i will make sure that you pay." Jim said seriously. "I'm not keen on you two sleeping together, but i know that this is what she needs."
Max understood. He didn't want to hurt Maria, and he knew that Jim didn't want her to get hurt. "Trust me, i love Maria. I will never hurt her." Max promised.
JIm let up on him. "Ok, well you guys better get some rest. We have to figure out how we are going to catch this, Kivar, tomorrow."
"Night," Max said and then took Maria up to the guest bedroom.
When they were there, Maria turned to Max, "I love you," she said, "I jsut wanted to tell you that, becuase, when i was in that room, i laid there thinking i'd bever see you again. And i regretted the fact i never told you how i really felt." she confessed.
Max pulled her into his arms, "Oh, god, Maria. I love you too. I dont want you to forget that. I'll be here for you always."
They cried together for a few minutes, then Maria said, "Well, i'm tired. We better get to bed."
Max nodded and moved to the bed. Maria realized she had nothing to sleep in. "I'll be right back. I'm going to go get a shirt to sleep in from kyle." she said.
Max watched her walk down the hall. He didn't want to let her out of his sight even for a minute.
She came back already changed and Max and Maria made thier way to the bed. "You dont ahve to sleep in your Jeans." Maria said. She knew that he didn't know what was appropriate.
"Are you sure?"
Maria nodded. "Yeah. Now common. I'm tired." she said with a grin. IT was amazing how she had jsut been beaten earlier that day, but now that she was with Max. She felt safe and happy.
HE took off his jeans and sliped under the covers with Maria. She snuggled into him. She looked upat him, "What are we going to do about Kivar," she asked. She was worried.
Max sqeezed her tighter. "Don't wory about it, baby. I will take care of him. She just need to have a plan. But, don't you worry about it." he said.
"Ok," She said and reached up to kiss him. It was a short sweet kiss, but it was filled with love. "Goodnight, baby." she siad.
She immediatly drifted off to sleep. "Night, Maria. I love you." Max said before falling into sleep himself.
Tomorrow they would have a plan for Kivar, but until then, he was going to hold onto Maria with all he had.

But i want you to knwo that she is like my daughter, and if you do anything to hurt her, i will make sure that you pay." Jim said seriously. "I'm not keen on you two sleeping together, but i know that this is what she needs."
Max understood. He didn't want to hurt Maria, and he knew that Jim didn't want her to get hurt. "Trust me, i love Maria. I will never hurt her." Max promised.
JIm let up on him. "Ok, well you guys better get some rest. We have to figure out how we are going to catch this, Kivar, tomorrow."
"Night," Max said and then took Maria up to the guest bedroom.
When they were there, Maria turned to Max, "I love you," she said, "I jsut wanted to tell you that, becuase, when i was in that room, i laid there thinking i'd bever see you again. And i regretted the fact i never told you how i really felt." she confessed.
Max pulled her into his arms, "Oh, god, Maria. I love you too. I dont want you to forget that. I'll be here for you always."
They cried together for a few minutes, then Maria said, "Well, i'm tired. We better get to bed."
Max nodded and moved to the bed. Maria realized she had nothing to sleep in. "I'll be right back. I'm going to go get a shirt to sleep in from kyle." she said.
Max watched her walk down the hall. He didn't want to let her out of his sight even for a minute.
She came back already changed and Max and Maria made thier way to the bed. "You dont ahve to sleep in your Jeans." Maria said. She knew that he didn't know what was appropriate.
"Are you sure?"
Maria nodded. "Yeah. Now common. I'm tired." she said with a grin. IT was amazing how she had jsut been beaten earlier that day, but now that she was with Max. She felt safe and happy.
HE took off his jeans and sliped under the covers with Maria. She snuggled into him. She looked upat him, "What are we going to do about Kivar," she asked. She was worried.
Max sqeezed her tighter. "Don't wory about it, baby. I will take care of him. She just need to have a plan. But, don't you worry about it." he said.
"Ok," She said and reached up to kiss him. It was a short sweet kiss, but it was filled with love. "Goodnight, baby." she siad.
She immediatly drifted off to sleep. "Night, Maria. I love you." Max said before falling into sleep himself.
Tomorrow they would have a plan for Kivar, but until then, he was going to hold onto Maria with all he had.

Chapter 24
"So, what are we going to do?" Jim asked, knowing that Max, Michael, Isabel, and Tess would know what to do about Kivar better than himself. He was good with human situations, being sheriff and all, but extra-terrestrial situations were a completely differerent situation.
"We need to get back in that wearhouse. I saw about 6 gaurds, plus Kivar." Michael offered.
"Do you think there are more that we didn't see?" Tess asked.
"Well, I mean, There were only 3 rooms that were open. So i can't imagine there being more gaurds than that." Michael said.
"Ok. So six gaurds and Kivar, all alien. Against 4 of us." Isabel thought aloud.
"You mean 7 of us." Kyle corrected, pointing to himself, his dad, and Alex.
Max knew it would just be time consuming to try to talk them out of going. Especially Kyle and Jim. They cared so much about Maria. "Ok 7 of us. But only 4 of us have powers." Max answerd.
"Can any of you use that bolt of energy, like Kivar did?" Liz asked.
"I dont know" Max answered thoughtfully. "Why dont we try."
All of the aliens lifted their arms and concentrated thier energy on a different object. WIthin seconds energy flowed from thier bodies and hit the objects, sending them into pieces across the room.
"Woah," Kyle said. "Well, i guess that answers that question."
"So, waht's the plan? We go in there and give Kivar a taste of his own medicien?" Michael asked.
Max nodded. "Yeah. We are going to the wearhouse and we are going to kill Kivar." Then Max turned to Jim, "You three will need guns. That's the only other way to kill these people."
Jim nodded and went to his gun cabinet. He took one fore himself and gave one to Kyle and one to Alex. This suprised and frightened Maria. "You guys dont have to do this. It's dangerous."
Jim turned to her, "No, we are going. I promise i will bring everyone back."
Maria nodded and looked down. "ok."
"Alight, let's go." Michael said, anxious to get to Kivar.
Everyone nodded and got up from the table. Max went over to Liz, "Stay with Maria. Make sure she is safe. When we are done. We will come back here." Liz nodded.
Michael then hugged Liz. "We will be ok. I promise. Now, jsut keep Maria safe."
"I will. Be careful." She said hugging and kissing him.
Maria made it a point to hug and kiss everyone before they left. Finally, she turned to Max. "Max, you be careful. I dont know waht i'd do if i lost you."
"I will. I love you so much. I'll be back as soon as i can." Max said as he pulled her into him. He kissed her lightly and they all left.

They seven Roswellians readied themselves. Almost immediatly, Kivar appreared at the top of the stairs, "Well, well, well, its the Royal Four again. And who are your friends, Zan?"
"That's none of your business. We are jsut here to kill you. Then we will be on our way." Max snarled. He really hated this guy.
"Good Luck." Kivar said, and three gaurd appeared.
Isabel was in no mood to play games. She sent a bolt of energy immediatly through Kivar, knocking him to the ground.
Kivar regained his senses and began to rise, when Max sent another bolt through him. Then Michael. And finally Tess. Kivar was down and out. The amazing thing was that his gaurds didnt help him.

Chapter 25
"Is he dead?" One of the gaurds asked.
The other gaurd reached down to chek Kivar's pulse. Nothing. "Yeah, i think he is."
Max, Michael, Kyle, Isabel, Tess, Alex, and Jim were all confused. Why were these gaurds not attacking them. Then the first gaurd let out a sigh of relife. "Thank, god. Well, let's tie him up, just to make sure."
"What?" Michael asked. "What's going on?"
The gaurds said nothing. They made quick work of tieing Kivar to a chair on the first floor.
Kyle looked at Max, "What are they doing?"
"I dont know Kyle. But we should keep our gaurd up."
Just then four other gaurd appeard in front of them. "Excuse me, What are you doing?" Tess asked the guards.
Immediatly the six gaurds made thier way to the pod-squad and kneeled in front of them. "We are here to serve your majesty." on said.
Max looked around. They were talking to him. "What are you talking about?" he said, motioning for them to rise. They stayed where they were but looked at him.
"You mean, you dont remember who you are?" Anouther gaurd asked.
"No, we dont. Could you tell us?" Max said calmly, though still confused.
The first gaurd was the first to speak, "You, are Zan the King of our planet, Antar." He said then he pointed to Isabel. "You are Zan's sister, Villondra. You were betrothed to Rath, your brother's second in command," The gaurd explained pointing to Rath. "Rath is the general of your armies and best friend." Then he turned his attention to Tess, "And Ava was our queen. Zan and Ava wer married not long before you were sent here." The gaurd answered.
Everyone digested the information. "Why were we sent here?" Isabel finally asked.
Anouther gaurd spoke up, "Kivar wanted King Zan's throne and he had all of you killed. You see, his was Tess's brother, and he thought he could manipulate her into killing Zan so that he could get the throan. But she refused. So he killed all of you. Then the scientist of our planet, sent you here, mixing your Antarian genetic material with Human DNA."
"Wow," Was all that Kyle could say. The aliens couldnt believe it. They have lived before. They were royalty.
"SO, why havn't you attacked us?" Michael asked.
"We are loyal to the one true King, Zan. We were forced to protect Kivar. But we do not trust him." A guard answered.
This was alot to take in at one time. "What do we do?" Isabel asked.
"I dont know. I guess nothing. What can we do." Max answered.
The gaurd finally answered, "Now that Kivar is dead, the loyalist, that is those that support Zan, will rise up. If you do not come back with us, they will appoint a new King that follows Zan's politics."
"Then, send him back. Have funeral for him, and allow the people to vote for thier new King." Max said to the guards.
They nodded. "Yes, your Majesty. ANd please know that if you ever decided to come back, your place is in the palace." One gaurd said and they all got off of the floor making sure to keep thier heads lowerd in respect.
The gand made their way out to thier cars. "Oh My God, Max." Isabel said still pocessing the information.
"I know, Iz. At least we dont haev to worry about Kivar anymore." Max said.
"Well, lets get back to Maria and put all of this behind us. We know who we are now." Max said.
"YEah, lets go home." Jim said and they made their way back to the Valenti's.

Chapter 26
"So, what happened?" Maria asked anxiously when everyone got back to her house.
"We killed him. He is dead." Max said wrapping his arms around her. He could feel her body fill with relief.
"And we found out where we are from." Michael added. He had always wanted to know this information, so he was very excited about it.
"Really?" Maria asked, knowing how important that was to him. "So whats the deal? Where are you from? Why are you here?" she really wanted to know.
From there, Isabel, Tess, Max, and Michael went into a lengthy discussion of what they had been told by the guards. After everything was repeated, Maria sait down. "Wow." she said.
A thought was eating at her though. "So you are ment to be with Tess?" she asked MAx timidly.
That hadn't even been important to Tess or Max. But now that Max saw it was hurting Maria, he looked to Tess for help. "We were betrothed to one anouther on Antar. It was a political marrage." she explained.
That seemed to ease Maria's mind slightly. "Oh." she said.
Isabel was quick to say, "Its the same with me and Michael. We were betrothed becuase he was my brother's best friend and general."
Everyone could see Liz breath a sigh of relief.
"Ok," Maria said. "How about we have movie night tonight. Get our minds off of all this Alien stuff." She really jsut wanted a normal night.
"I think that sounds great," Alex said puting his arm around her and Tess.
"Ok, I'll go get the movies," Tess said.
"Not so fast," Kyle answered. "You will come back with Steel Magnolias and Terms oF Endearment. I'll go get them."
"Well, Kyle. You will come back with The Matrix and Breavheart." Maria quiped.
Jim rolled his eyes and laughed at the teenagers. "I'm going to work. Call me for anything." he said before leaving.
"So, how about I go get the movies, and a guy comes with me. That way it will be even selection." Maria said lauging at the brother and sister.
"Ok, We will go get them." Max said indicating himself and Maria.

"BACK" Maria yelled into the house. She and Max made there way into the living room where the group had congretated. "Ok. So after much debate we decided on: American Pie 2, Chrouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Max claims that we girls will like it, and What Women Want, which i belive you guys will like too."
"Sweet, lets start." Isabel said making herself comfortable on the floor next to Kyle.
Tess and Alex sat close together next to Michael and Liz on the couch. That left the loveseat for Maria and Max which was just fin by them.
Maria was really enjoying herself. They had started on the third and final film, What Women Want, and it was getting late. She snuggled next to Max who had his arms around her.
Then suddenly Maria started having weird feelings in the pit of her stomach. They didn't hurt. But they were weird, non the less. She sat up slightly.
"You ok?" Max whispered in concern.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just need to go to the bathroom." She said getting up and heading to the bathroom.
When she got there she clutched her stomach and got a flash. Terror ripped through her as she saw a tiny handprint on her stomach.

Chapter 27
Maria collapsed on the floor knocking over the things Tess had on the counter. The group heard and immediatly ran to her. Fear was etched on all of thier faces as they saw Maria hunched over in fetal position on the floor.
"What's wrong?!?" Max screamed, unable to keep his emotions in check.
Maria lifted her tear stained face. "Ummm...can i talk to Tess for a minute?" she asked, not getting up. She didn't think she could talk to the rest of them about this.
Max was hurt. "Are you ok? I mean are you hurt?" Max asked.
"No, i'm not hurt. I just need to talk to Tess for a minute." Tess nodded and ushered everyone out of the bathroom. Then she shut the door behind them and joined Maria on the floor.
"Whats the matter Maria?" she asked placing her arm around the scared girl.
Maria looked up at her best friend, "Tess. I...I'm pregnate. It's Kivar's. It has to be. He's the only one that i've had sex with. Well, i guess it wasn't really sex. But I'm pregnate and i dont know what to do." Maria said as she was bawling.
Tess held her friend as she cried. The truth was, she didn't know exactly what to say. "Look, Maria. No matter waht, i'm here for you. All of us are. You know that. You need to tell everyone. Maybe Max could..."
Maria didn't even need her to finish the sentence, "No, Tess. I can't kill the baby. He's part of me too. I hate Kivar, but it isn't my son's fault that he was brought into the world like this. I'm going to keep him."
"You say, him, you know it is a boy." Tess asked.
"Yeah, i connected with him." Maria answered.
Tess nodded, "I think you should really tell the others. They are all here for you, just like me, Kyle, and Michael. We love you, and we will help you through this. Expecially, Max."
"I know. I just needed to talk to you first. You are my best friend. No matter what." Maria said hugging Tess.
Tess kissed her cheek and helped her up. "Let's go," she said and they walked out of the bathroom and into the Living room.
Everyone looked up at the two, concern on thier faces. "What's wrong?" Max asked Maria. He couldn't bare her to be hurt one more time. She had been through so much and she didn't deserve any of it.
Tess sat next to Alex and Maria took a deep breath, "You guys. Umm...god this is so hard to say. I'm...I..." she began. She found it impossible to tell them about the baby.
"Maria, its ok. Jsut tell us. We are here for you." Max said.
"I'm pregnate," she blurted out finally. Jaws dropped around the room. She then said, "It's Kivar's obviously. But i'm keeping the baby. He is mine too. I dont know what to do though. I mean i'm 17." she finished by pratcially talking to herself.
Maria took a seat and waited for a reaction. Finally, Isabel spoke, "Maria, we are here for you. i'm so sorry that you have to go through this, but i respect your decision. If you need anyone, i'm here for you."
Maria breathed a sigh of relief. Everyone else exchanged basically the same sentiments.
Finally, Max pulled Maria aside, "Maria, i love you, and i love this baby, becuase he is part of you. I will be by your side for the whole thing. If you want, we can tell everyone that the baby is mine, if you want. As to not have to answere question." Max jsut wanted Maria to feel ok about all of this, but he was being truthful.
Maria's eyes filled with tears. "Thank you, Max. That means so much to me. I love you too." she said kissing him with all she had.
Thier friends in the other room over heard thier conversation, and were very proud of Max. They knew that he loved her. And they knew that he would take a lot of flack for 'impregnating' Maria.
"Can you stay the night?" Maria asked.
"Yeah, my parents still arnt home." Max answered and they went back into the living room to finish the movie.

Maria looked up at her best friend, "Tess. I...I'm pregnate. It's Kivar's. It has to be. He's the only one that i've had sex with. Well, i guess it wasn't really sex. But I'm pregnate and i dont know what to do." Maria said as she was bawling.
Tess held her friend as she cried. The truth was, she didn't know exactly what to say. "Look, Maria. No matter waht, i'm here for you. All of us are. You know that. You need to tell everyone. Maybe Max could..."
Maria didn't even need her to finish the sentence, "No, Tess. I can't kill the baby. He's part of me too. I hate Kivar, but it isn't my son's fault that he was brought into the world like this. I'm going to keep him."
"You say, him, you know it is a boy." Tess asked.
"Yeah, i connected with him." Maria answered.
Tess nodded, "I think you should really tell the others. They are all here for you, just like me, Kyle, and Michael. We love you, and we will help you through this. Expecially, Max."
"I know. I just needed to talk to you first. You are my best friend. No matter what." Maria said hugging Tess.
Tess kissed her cheek and helped her up. "Let's go," she said and they walked out of the bathroom and into the Living room.
Everyone looked up at the two, concern on thier faces. "What's wrong?" Max asked Maria. He couldn't bare her to be hurt one more time. She had been through so much and she didn't deserve any of it.
Tess sat next to Alex and Maria took a deep breath, "You guys. Umm...god this is so hard to say. I'm...I..." she began. She found it impossible to tell them about the baby.
"Maria, its ok. Jsut tell us. We are here for you." Max said.
"I'm pregnate," she blurted out finally. Jaws dropped around the room. She then said, "It's Kivar's obviously. But i'm keeping the baby. He is mine too. I dont know what to do though. I mean i'm 17." she finished by pratcially talking to herself.
Maria took a seat and waited for a reaction. Finally, Isabel spoke, "Maria, we are here for you. i'm so sorry that you have to go through this, but i respect your decision. If you need anyone, i'm here for you."
Maria breathed a sigh of relief. Everyone else exchanged basically the same sentiments.
Finally, Max pulled Maria aside, "Maria, i love you, and i love this baby, becuase he is part of you. I will be by your side for the whole thing. If you want, we can tell everyone that the baby is mine, if you want. As to not have to answere question." Max jsut wanted Maria to feel ok about all of this, but he was being truthful.
Maria's eyes filled with tears. "Thank you, Max. That means so much to me. I love you too." she said kissing him with all she had.
Thier friends in the other room over heard thier conversation, and were very proud of Max. They knew that he loved her. And they knew that he would take a lot of flack for 'impregnating' Maria.
"Can you stay the night?" Maria asked.
"Yeah, my parents still arnt home." Max answered and they went back into the living room to finish the movie.

Chapter 28
MAria settled into Max's arms as they lay down for bed. She clung to him with all she had. Then, she looked up into Max's Eyes, "Max, I'm so scared." she said, with tears stinging her eyes.
He squeezed her tight, "I know, "he said. "I know, but everthing is going to be ok." he assured her. He knew that this was going to be hard, but Max had a feeling that it would work out.
"But, what am i going to do? i cant raise a child on my own. And what about my son? I know that everyone supports me, vbut they will always see him as the product of what Kivar did tyo me." maria cried.
Max ran his hands through Maria's hair, "You arn't going to raise this child on your own." Max stressed, "I will always be here. and it doesn't matter whose DNA your child had, we will all love him. He is part of you. I will always think of him as OUR son, not Kivar's," he finnished, kissing Maria on the cheek.
Maria pulled him closer, "Max, I cant ask you to do that. You have your whole life ahead of you. College. Medical School. I will hold you back."
Max lifter her chin to look him in the eye. "Maria, don't ever think that being with you is a burden. I love you, and i always will. You are my heart. College will always be there, but you need me right now. And you are my number ONE priority. You always will be."
Tears were streaming down Maria's face at this point. "Good, I love you too. You know, my mom is going to kill you is she thiks that you knocked me up, right." Maria said lightening the conversation.
Max gulped hard at the thought. He knew that telling Amy about the pregnancy was going to be pretty hard. "Nah. I'm charming. She'll love me." he said with a grin.
Maria laughed out loud, "Yeah, she'll love you alright. And she will show you that love by beating you in the head with a blunt object."
Max chuckled, "Well, i guess we better tell her tomorrow. It will be ok. I promise." He said before wrapping his arms around her tighter as they drifted off to sleep.
The talk with her mom had gone better than she had imagined. Amy did freek out and tried to hit MAx with a broom. But MAria calmed her mother down and in the end Amy and Maria ended up crying and holding each other.
"I love you no matter what," Amy said to Maria.
"Thank you mom." Maria said.
Then Amy looked at MAx, "You better watch out of my baby." she siad.
"With my life," Max anwswered.
Maria was so happy to have her mother's support. She knew it would be hard to get through this if he mother was not by her side. They had always been close and she wanted it to stay that way. She love her mother, and she loved her even more so now that she was going to help her through the hardest time in her life.

8 months Later...
Maria was eight months pregnate and things were going relativly well. It hadn't been easy. Max's parents had flipped out. Maria felt so bad. He was taking a major beating at home, and it was all her fault. He did it for her.
Soon after telling his parents about Maria, Max moved in with Michael. It was just too hard living with his dad, who called Maria mean names and made Max feel like an asshole. So, he moved out.
Maria again felt terrible. She begged Max to make it work with his parents. She didn't want to be the cuase of his break in relationship with his mother and father. Granted, they weren't his real mother and father, but they were close.
But Max spent most of his time at Maria's house. He took great care of her. No matter what she needed, he would get it for her. And when the school tried to push Maria out, he stood up for her. And in the end, as Max always does, he got his way.
Tonight was a typical night. Maria and Max were sitting on her couch, watching TV while Amy made dinner. He had his arm protectivly around her. She smiled and kissed him on the chee, "I love you." she said.
"Back at you," he said and smiled warmly. Then Maria got up. "Where are you going?" Max asked.
"The bathroom. Is that okay with you?" Maria said with a smart ass grin. Max laughed and Maria dissapeared down the hall.
It was hard for her to get around. She was 8 months pregnate, but she was much bigger that normal. She couldn't go to the doctor for obvious reasons, but Max had checked her out numorous times and everything was ok. She just assumed that it was a part of alien pregnancy.
Suddenly, Maria felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen. "MAX! MOM!" Maria screamed. It was time. She knew that the baby was comming.
Max and Amy ran to Maria immediatly. "What baby, whats' wrong?" MAx asked taking her into his arms.
"The baby's comming," Maria said. Max nodded. Over the last 8 months, ha had prepared himself to deliver the baby. They knew she couldnt go to the doctor, so he wanted to be prepared in the event that there was a complecation.
"We ahev to get her to the hospital," Amy said moving for the phone. She didn't know that Maria hadn't been going to the doctor. She didn't knwo anything.
Max stopped her, "No, Maria can't go to the hospital?"
Amy looked at him apawled, "What? What do you mean. She needs a hospital. There arn't any midwives around here. So what is her doctor's name?"
"No, Amy. She cant go to the hospital. She can't go becuause..." Max stopped and looked at Maria. She nodded at him, giving him permission to tell her mother what she had been too scared to tell her for years.
