She cycled down the street just enjoying the hot New Mexico weather as she made her way towards the Tumbleweed. No one knew she was coming here today and she had told them all that she was going to be at the library. She lifted her feet up when she went down a hill and the wind whipped through her hair. She reached the bottom and saw the little hotel, she slowed to a stop and went inside. She left her bike in the hall and saw Dan Scheinin from her class sitting behind the desk.
"Morning Ana. What you doing here? Finally agreeing to go out with me?"
"No I need to know which room Max Evans is in"
"Why?"
"Just because"
"I'm sorry that's gonna cost a dinner date with me" he replied smugly. Ana sighed and glanced up the cabinet on the wall. She focused on it and it fell down sending paperwork everywhere. Dan jumped up to clean it up and Ana turned the entry book around and looked at the room numbers. 9C. She hurried up the stairs leaving Dan and his mess alone.

He had been lying on the bed just staring at the wall when someone knocked on his door. Dammit couldn't these stupid Roswellians leave him alone? His son hated him, the only girl he cared about wants him to leave and he didn't know his daughter existed. All this time he thought that the emotions he was getting was from Liz, he never realised he had a little girl. All those wasted years!
His mind finally registered when the knocking stopped and the lock clicked, he rolled out of bed quickly to face the intruder. The door opened slightly in and stepped a brown haired young girl
"Dad?" she called out and he froze at that word. She looked around and couldn't see anything. She jumped when a hand touched her shoulder, she grabbed that hand spining around and delivering a roundhouse to the bastards side. He went down clutching his ribs
"Dad! I'm so sorry I didn't know it was you" she said kneeling down to help him
"That's okay I live in New York" he chuckled as she helped him up over to the bed. He healed his ribs up but still gingerly touched them as he turned to her "What are you doing here? You mom made it abundantly clear I was to stay away from you"
"You're my father and I wanted to know you. I'm told I have your ears" she said, he looked at her ears then nodded
"Yep that you do" he replied and she chuckled
"Everyone says you're a real jerk. Jacob hates you"
"I can't really do anything about what he feels. I guess he thinks I'm a threat to your relationship. You've known him longer than I have"
"No he's only been back for about four days" she said
"Well I guess we're pretty even then" he replied and she nodded sadly
"He's been through a lot. I can't even comprehend the pain he's suffered, two nights ago mom took his pain. He still has the awful memories but he doesn't feel anything when he thinks of them anymore. Mom... she threw up all that night and then she's buried herself in her work. The people who took Jacob beat him, with leather straps and pokers. He told me that once after mom took the pain away. Then when he was eight he got away and fled to Arizona. He's been living there ever since, he's sold himself to get by and he's taken to drugs too"
"I had no idea" he said and thought back to the night he turned up. He would have just left but Jacob stopped him "I guess he must want me to stay otherwise he wouldn't have stopped me from leaving"
"He did it for me. That's why I'm here, to get to know my father"
"I'm sorry I've never come here. Last time Liz and I didn't end up on good terms"
"I know everything dad. I saw it when you healed me, blaming mom for loosing Jacob was the wrong thing to do. Just because she only had him in her life for a few days doesnt mean she didn't love him like her own. Tess gave him to her because she knew that mom would love him just like he was her own son and she did. She risked her life to save him and you blame her for it?"
"I'm sorry I lash out. I do that so people don't get close, when I couldn't find Jacob I blamed myself and I put the blame on Liz so she would feel as bad as I did. But she told me to leave so Serina and I went back to New York and stayed there where I couldn't hurt anyone any more"
"Dad why do you blame yourself?"
"Because Liz fought for him and I couldn't even find him. His bad life is all my fault"
"Things happen and we can't control them, can't stop them, they just happen and we have to deal with that. That's life, what's done is done and you can only move forward either making more mistakes or healing the pain you've already caused" she said and he nodded
"Do you hate me?" he asked simply. She paused for a moment
"No" she replied "I don't know you enough to hate you or love you. I just want to know how come you hate humans so much?"
"When I was little... and Tess and Zan were still alive. I broke out of my pod and I wandered off away from the sub sewer where they had placed us. I wandered off and into some drug dealers space when he was trying to peddle his stuff. They beat me up and chained me to a pillar and spray painted my hair green, Zan came to the rescue and just blasted them all. I just thought that was the way you treated humans so I did that everytime I saw one. Zan hid me away from the world and let the others go out. They learned about things and I didn't because of his screw up. After he died I started spending more time with Tess and Serina was never around. A week before I slept with Tess Serina invited me to be the vice president of her company she had built up. She had been out getting degrees all over the place and she had started her own law firm. I was just good for getting the coffee and over the years I've worked up to a partner"
"You had a bad life too"
"Yes but that's no excuse for me being so mean and cold to the people you care about. Maybe I should just go back to New York and let you live your lives"
"I've always wanted to meet you and I can't say I'm disappointed but you have a lot to learn about being a father and running back home to New York won't help. Stay here and I can teach you to be a good father"
"How do you know what it is to be a good father?"
"I have Uncle Michael and he's the best father to Nicky. Nicky's my best friend and he just loves his dad or you could be like Uncle Alex, Katie and Adam love spending time with him"
"Um okay. I'll stay but you're mom's not going to like it" he said and she nodded smiling
"Just leave that to me!" she replied chuckling.

Liz hurried around the office trying to sort through and tidy up. She hadn't slept in two days since she took Jacob's pain. The harder she tried not to think about it the more it plagued her thoughts. She couldn't escape from it, it wouldn't let her.
She picked up a few files and was moving toward her desk when she bumped into Jacob. She didn't realise he was there until it was too late and the files ended up on the floor
"Jacob!" she gasped "You scared me"
"Sorry mom" he said bending down to help her pick up the papers "You look really sick" he said. He put down the papers he had in his hand and took the ones off his mom and they moved to the little couch.
"Is everything okay?" she asked worried
"No it's not" he replied "I want to have the pain back. I was wrong to let you take it, it is twice as painful because you're feeling your son's pain at his lowest hours. I've been empty and hollow since you took it; even though it was bad it still made me who I am right now. Without that pain I'm only half the being I was when I came back to you all" he confessed and she nodded closing her eyes as a tear slid down her cheek
"These past two days have been pure torture. I'm so sorry we weren't there to help you" she whispered sadly as she held out her hands. He took them and she gave him back the pain that he had learnt to live with.

He grabbed up the last shirt and shoved it into his worn backpack. Two days and so much had changed, he had learned to live without the pain and realised that he could not have a life without it. Liz and Ana didn't know about the apartment. He found it earlier that day before he met up with his mom, it was five blocks away from the cafe near the rougher side of Roswell.
He fastened his backpack and hoisted it onto his shoulders before scribbling out a quick note and left it on his pillow.
He quietly crept down the stairs and out the door locking it behind him before meeting Katie in her mom's old Jeep. She leaned over and they kissed briefly before they headed off to their new apartment.

Katie opened the door and let the men carrying the mattress and flat pack in, they left them in the hall and she paid them the money and they left. Today was Saturday, Jake had gone out looking for some night courses and part time work. She had been left with the apartment and setting everything up.
She squealled in excitement as she saw the size of the mattress, though they hadn't got that far yet they had got pretty close together and when he said he was getting his own place she had asked him if she could share with him. Her mom was not pleased to say the least but after assuring her that Katie was fine and safe she relented a little and wanted to come round and see the place where she was staying. She pulled the mattress through to the bedroom and began to set things up.

Ana and Jacob sat side by side on a park bench in silence. Jacob had a coffee in his hands and Ana was leaning back in the cold morning air
"Mom freaked out when she found you were gone. She thought you were gone like last time" she said
"I didn't mean to- I'm sorry" he said and she shrugged
"I don't remember the last time" she replied smiling "Wasn't born. But it took a while for me to calm her down. I even had to go get Maria and Aria!"
"How is aunt Aria by the way?"
"She moved in with Uncle Kyle surprisingly"
"Kyle? Kyle Valenti? The bastard that beat my mom?"
"He hurt mom?" she asked in surprise "When?"
"Oh um... Freudian slip. Liz... she isn't my real mom"
"WHAT!" cried Ana sitting forward to face him "What do you mean she's not your real mom?"
"Oh um... when I was three my real mom died. Her name was Tess Harding and she made sure I was sent to her best friend Liz. She wanted Liz to raise me. Max is my dad but Tess was... my real mom"
"So we're only half related? Man now that sucks!"
"I don't care if we have different parents. Liz adopted me and I've always considered her my mom. Tess let Kyle beat me and didn't do a damn thing to stop him"
"Uncle Kyle's not like that anymore. I think he tried it on Aunt Aria once but she wouldn't have none of it. He's changed a lot over the years, they're both Buddhists and live in Tibet"
"Wow" he said
"Yeah. They come home from the holidays and they always bring rare wild flowers and exotic spices back" she said
"I can't wait to see them again" he said he said as she took the coffee from him and began to drink it. He leaned back reaching into his front pocket and took out his cigarettes and lit one. He sighed deeply
"How's things with Katie?"
"We're good. We haven't really got past second base yet but when I said I was getting my own place she jumped at the chance to join me. Money isn't really a problem. I made enough on the streets and whenever I got tens I just turned them into hundreds. I've got ten years of hard cash stored away"
"Nice" she said smiling at him wantingly "You know my birthday is coming up"
"What do you want?"
"Anything to do with Photography. I absolutely love taking pictures!" she said thinking of some of the amazing things she had captured.
"Okay... right. Big Cake, lots of friends and family, male strippers" he said and she burst out laughing and shoved his shoulder
"Jake! I'm too young! That's for my eighteenth birthday!" she said and he chuckled and pulled her close for a quick hug.
"You're an ok little sis you know that?" he said and she nodded
"And you're one cool kick ass brother" she replied "I better be getting back soon. Mom's going to kill me know I was talking to you, you should come by the cafe and have dinner with us later. Bring Katie too" she said before walking off.

"Jake! Jacob! Where are you going!" cried Katie with worry, she picked herself up off the ground and watched her boyfriend running off fast, something was really wrong. She had never seen him so scared or worried in the time that she had known him. She turned around reluctantly and continued back to their apartment.
When she got home she knew something wasn't quite right. Someone had been in her house. She could just tell because things had been moved from their places, she held her hand down by her side pooling her energies to face the attacker
"Whose there!" she shouted "I've got a gun and I'll blast you!" she shouted and heard a shuffle from the bedroom. She kicked open the door and it swung round fast hitting the person hiding behind it
"Ow!" he cried, she looked into the room to make sure it was only one intruder then she went in and peeked round the door. She stopped when she saw who it was
"Oh Jacob! I'm so sorry" she said kneeling down "Are you okay baby?" she asked putting her hands up on his shoulders. He looked up at her his eyes were dark and he grinning evilly at her "Jacob?" she asked standing up and moving back in fear
"Oh don't worry bout me babe. I'm fine" he replied in a heavy Southerners accent before blasting her.

Ana found her brother in the garage between the old toy boxs and the car, she had gone out to get the power torch. Her aunty Maria needed it for cooking
"Jacob!" she gasped "You scared the hell out of me! What are you doing here?" she smiled but lost it when she saw tears streaming down his face "What's wrong?"
"I... saw Leanna in the park. I got so terrified I just ran"
"It's okay. You did good by getting away! Want me to call Katie?"
"Katie? Oh my god I left her in the park! I ran away from her and left her with Leanna!" he cried standing up. Hurrying out into the driveway with Ana following close behind him
"Jacob! Wait up!" she called as he jogged off down the street. She dropped the blow torch and bent down to pick it up.
Jacob heard tires screech and he turned round to see a car pull up, Leanna and a few cronies jumped out and she aimed at his sister and pretended to shoot her as if she had a gun. They hurried over and Jacob whirled round as Ana was standing up
"ANA!" he shouted "GET DOWN!" she looked up at him then turned around and dropped to the ground covering her head with her arms. He let go of his anger at the people who had tortured him and they disappeared in a cloud of flakes leaving Leanna standing there next to an empty van.
She moved to dive into the van but Jacob was quicker and raised his other hand and send a powerful anger filled blast destroying it, it blew up and she went flying on to Maria's lawn.
He hurred over and helped Ana up keeping hold of her hand for fear of loosing her, they both made their way to a badly broken Leanna lying on the grass. She was cut and her skin was blackened in places
"You kill me and you'll never find your girlfriend!" she cried then sputtered up blood
"I'm not going to kill you. I'm not like you!" he said kneeling down next to her "There's something I need to give you. Because I don't need it anymore now that I'm back with my family" he said laying his hands on her head. He shoved the torture from his mind into hers whilst pulling all the information she had about Kivar and the Skins from her mind.
Leanna cried out in pain as her thoughts and knowledged were ripped from her head. The hole her thoughts left were filled up with all the pain and suffering she had caused Jacob. Only she was feeling it as if she had been tortured for five years. The pain was so intense it killed her.
Jacob sat back on the grass breathing hard, he had just defeated the person who scared him the most. Even when she was dead and bruised and burnt she still scared him.
"Ja-"
"We have to get the others together. They've took Katie and we're going to need all the fire power we have to get her back" he said devoid of emotion. If he got emotion he would just loose it and that was not what Ana or Katie needed.

Zan and Vilandra are brother and sister but Max and Isabel grew up on different sides of the country. Michael and Isabel grew up with the Evans and Max and Serina grew up as Spencers. They don't see themselves as related.Is Katie, Isabels daughter? Are Max and Isabel related? Just wondering.

"ANA!" he shouted "GET DOWN!" she looked up at him then turned around and dropped to the ground covering her head with her arms. He let go of his anger at the people who had tortured him and they disappeared in a cloud of flakes leaving Leanna standing there next to an empty van.
She moved to dive into the van but Jacob was quicker and raised his other hand and send a powerful anger filled blast destroying it, it blew up and she went flying on to Maria's lawn.
He hurred over and helped Ana up keeping hold of her hand for fear of loosing her, they both made their way to a badly broken Leanna lying on the grass. She was cut and her skin was blackened in places
"You kill me and you'll never find your girlfriend!" she cried then sputtered up blood
"I'm not going to kill you. I'm not like you!" he said kneeling down next to her "There's something I need to give you. Because I don't need it anymore now that I'm back with my family" he said laying his hands on her head. He shoved the torture from his mind into hers whilst pulling all the information she had about Kivar and the Skins from her mind.
Leanna cried out in pain as her thoughts and knowledged were ripped from her head. The hole her thoughts left were filled up with all the pain and suffering she had caused Jacob. Only she was feeling it as if she had been tortured for five years. The pain was so intense it killed her.
Jacob sat back on the grass breathing hard, he had just defeated the person who scared him the most. Even when she was dead and bruised and burnt she still scared him.
"Ja-"
"We have to get the others together. They've took Katie and we're going to need all the fire power we have to get her back" he said devoid of emotion. If he got emotion he would just loose it and that was not what Ana or Katie needed.

It's brighter than the city lights
Warmer than a heart of gold
And dingo's howl just to break the
silence
Katie looked around her surroundings, she had just woken up and felt strangely disorientated. She saw Jacob staring down at her with a evil green that seemed so strange on his face
"Get away from me!" she hissed
"That's not the way to treat me! I'm your loverboy" he replied standing up and walking away from her
"You're not Jacob! You're evil!" she shouted
"I'm the closest thing to Jacob at the moment. I was one of the ones who tortured him, I'm the one who took him and I look like him"
"What do you mean you took him?" she asked
"Took him when he was a kid and Leanna made me second in command for it"
"You took him away from me" she said out loud in realisation "You. Took. Him. Away. From me!" she shouted. He gasped as the green energy surrounding her vanished and her eyes glowed brighter, he stepped back in fear. Blue waves of energy shot out from her and she gasped as she felt her anger and hatred toward them. The waves kept pouring off her leaving her dazed and confused about everything. The skins screamed and ran in fear trying to get away from the waves of energy she was creating but it was too quick for them.
The sun comes up just to break the cold
Last night I woke
With the stars looking back at me
Max, Maria, Isabel, Alex, Liz, Michael and Jacob burst into the place and saw flakes of skin floating around the room. They were surprised to find it empty, it looked like everyone had disappeared.
"Katie!" shouted Jacob taking off in a sprite when he saw her laying on the floor Isabel and Alex followed after them and the others hurried toward her.
Jacob reached her and saw her lying there with her eyes open, she looked so still and calm. He stared at her before he let out a choked sob
"Oh god" he covered his mouth and turned around. Isabel and Alex stopped near Jacob and stared down at her
"No..." whispered Isabel as her breathing increased "No" she said more firmly as tears came to her eyes "NO!" she screamed out and turned to Alex throwing her head into his shoulder. He put his arms around her and cried.
Jacob cleared his breathing and slowly turned around and scooped her up in his arms. Isabel went to stop him but Alex grabbed her by the shoulder and shook his head. Her face crumpled up and she buried her face once more in Alex's chest and cried.
Swallowing the sky

He carried her home and laid her down on the bed, her beautiful blue eyes were vacant and staring up at the ceiling. He laid her down on the messy blanket and knelt by the side watching her. He choked again and buried his head in his hands as he cried
"Why! Why did you take her away from me! Haven't I suffered enough!" he cried squeezing his eyes shut as more tears came "Oh my god! My god! Katie" he gripped the covers and cried so hard.
If I'm not here in the morning

Ana, Nicky and Adam were sitting together in the cafe. They were all quiet and sad. Adam was trying not to cry and Ana could see it, she put her hand over his and he burst out crying. Tears streamed down her face as she pulled him into a hug and Nicky joined in.
Liz, Max, Michael and Maria could only watch as they cried holding each other. They had been four against the world and the pain they were feeling for loosing their oldest friend.
Liz sobbed and turned to Max's arms and he held her while she cried, she couldn't believe her oldest niece was gone. She loved Katie, her and Ana were always best friends
"I can't believe she's gone" whispered Maria. Michael nodded in agreement
"If I ever find Kivar he's a dead man" he said coldly
"Give him one for me" hissed Liz turning round
"And one from me!" came the happy voice, they all turned and gasped.

The whistle blows just to break the silence
I wave just to break the time
Jacob climbed onto the bed in fear, he reached out to touch her cheek but stopped. What if she was cold? He grabbed the blanket and pulled it over her
"I love you" he whispered finally reaching out to cup her cheek. It was still warm and his breath hitched, he quickly wiped a tear away with his sleeve and locked gazes with her. Her blue eyes bore into him till they blinked and he jumped back and fell off the bed in surprise
"Katie?" he whispered so quietly he barely heard it himself, but she hadn't moved. She was still as before, had he imagined it? He clambered back onto the bed and saw her eyes were closed now. His brows knitted in pain before he pressed a kiss to her lips. She arched up against him and he could feel her hands tangle in her hair. He pulled back and saw her eyes full of life again
"Oh my god you're alive!" he cried pulling her close into a fierce hug "I thought you were gone for ever!"
"No I was just lost" she replied trying to pull him closer "I'm so sorry I went away. I'm so sorry! I love you! I love you" she repeated and he nodded
"I love you too!" before he pulled back "We better get to the cafe. There's going to be some really sad people wanting to see you!"
I close my eyes

Nicholas crawled out of the warehouse on his hands and knees. He had hidden behind a crate when the energy came from Katie, it had almost killed him but he had survived. They were strong, very strong. One of them alone could wipe out thousands!
He clambered to his feet and almost when flying as he staggered about, one hand pressed to the bleeding cut in his side as he hurried off as fast as he could to his hotel room and his communication with Kivar.
He was going to let them know that the Royal Family was here and that they were strong enough to fight.

He didn't, couldn't, stop staring at her. She was alive and he felt so afraid that if he would look away he would loose her
"I love you" he whispered and she turned almost startled that he was staring. She smiled and he put an arm around her shoulders as they continued walking to the Cafe.
They reached the windows and saw everyone sitting around crying. She saw her three best friends holding each other and her heart broke
"Come on let's go inside. They're waiting for you" he said and she nodded
"Okay" she replied and he took her hand and they walked in to hear the owners talking.
"If I ever find Kivar he's a dead man" he said coldly, Liz turned round to look at him
"Give him one for me" she replied and Katie had a sad smile on her face
"And one from me!" she said loudly and they all turned round to see her standing there. Liz practically jumped over the counter and threw her arms around her. Isabel and Liz had raised Katie and Ana together, they were practically like sisters. Everyone hurried over and soon it was a family hug
"Oh we thought you were gone for good!" cried Ana
"Don't you ever scare me like that again!" shouted Liz "Where's your mom? Does she know?" she asked and Katie just shrugged. Maria hurried over and called Alex on the phone
"No I don't care Alex! Just bring her down to the cafe! There's someone here for you!" she said loudly before hanging up and hurrying back to Katie.
Ten minutes later Alex came throught the door with a grieving Isabel, she looked so broken and weak, she stopped when she looked up and everyone moved out the way. She saw Katie standing there and she whimpered before falling down on the floor. Alex was stood there with his mouth open, he had dreamed that she be alive and here but he never thought it would happen!
"Katie!" cried Isabel "My baby!"
"Mom!" Katie broke down and fell to her knees and wrapped her arms around her mother. Isabel didn't let her go for a good solid twenty minutes.
"You brought her back didn't you?" asked Alex looking at Jacob
"She wasn't really gone. Just a little lost"
"Thank you" he replied "I know you care about her Jacob and I know I barely know you but I can see how much you love her. So I guess if things get further between the two of you. You have my blessings, just keep her safe? Ok? Or I'll be borrowing from your Uncles impressive guns collection"
"Yes Sir" gulped Jacob.
Everyone gathered at the Parker House Hold for dinner because it was the biggest house out of all of them and Michael and Jacob cooked, Ana and Katie laid the table up and the others talked in the living room. Max was sitting there smiling and feeling like a sore topic. He had come through when Liz needed him but there was a long way to go before he was back on track with her. Serina nudged her brother
"Talk to her you misog! God! I thought you were all tough and hard? New York Punk and all that? Geez I'm more connected than you!"
"Yeah? Is that so?" he replied
"Yeah" she shot back "That's why I'm in love with my boyfriend Jared"
"Jared...?" he said in shock as she smirked and walked off. Wow the vice president of the company and his sister. Never saw that one coming!
"Hey mom! Dad!" said Jacob looking to Max "Dinner's ready"
They all filed out and gasped at the table laid out before them, Jacob was standing there nervously
"So um... what do you think? I mean... I'm not that good a cook"
"Are you kidding?" laughed Ana "I've tasted your food you're even better than Uncle Michael!" she said and he blushed bowing his head
"Well I wanted it to be special and all since..." Katie walked up to him and cupped his face in her hands to stop him talking
"It is special. Not about the food but coz we're together" she said before kissing him softly "I love you Jacob"
"I love you too Katie" he said. He held her chair for her as she sat down before taking off the apron and sitting down next to her.
Liz was so proud of her son. Despite that he had been raised with a bad life he was quite the kind and caring gentlemen.
"Here's to Katie!" said Liz raising her champagne glass filled with soft soda. Aliens couldn't drink anything alcoholic because it messed with their systems, but Jacob had found out that you had to build up an immunity to it. He slipped some vodka into his soda, he needed it after the past few days.
"Here's to family!" he said raising his glass and they cheered and nodded
"To family!" they chorused and chinked their glasses together. Liz scowled because she felt that this was the last time they were going to be all together as a family.

Jacob was sitting at the counter sipping some coffee whilst watching Katie work. It was five thirty and he had to leave soon to get to his first night class. He shook his head as a song came on over the radio playing through the cafe and she began to dance about collecting dishes. He chuckled as she shook her booty and bopped her head.
He heard the door bell go but he didn't turn around, she was too beautiful
"Oh baby!" cried a voice, he turned in his seat to see three people standing there. He'd recognise that voice anywhere!
"Hey!" he cried hurrying over. Jilly grabbed him and pulled him down for a fierce kiss. Then Joe grabbed him and did the same, Risa just slapped his ass
"Never thought you were the one for the Believers" said Joe as he pointed outside to the alien obsessed town
"I've got family here" he said. Jilly, Joe and Risa were his best friends growing up, he had given up a lot to leave them.
"Yeah I know but we still missed ya" said Jilly she pulled him down for another kiss and Katie walked over surprised to see her boyfriend kissing some other girl
"Jacob!" she cried
"Jacob?" laughed Joe
"Guys it's a long story" he explained "This is Katie my girlfriend"
"You settlin' down on us Jay?" asked Risa "That's a shame. We should get together and have one last orgy. Joe's been moaning about you for ages!"
"You mean... Jacob and Joe...?" gasped Katie
"I'm not entirely straight"
"When were you planning on telling me?"
"Oh let's see after before you almost died and before I torched the bitch who took me away from you in the first place and tried to kill my sister"

"Just friends. We shared money and… other things when I lived in Arizona" he confessed. Then his watch began to beep “Oh I gotta go. Math” he said
“You’ll do good,” she said kissing him goodbye quick leaving her to it. She turned to them hands on her hips and stared them down icily
“So you’re Jake’s friends” she said and Jilly nodded “Well let’s just get one thing straight. I know all about his little drug thing that he had going before came home but now he’s off it and doing really well. He’s taking night classes and helps my Aunt Liz out here when it’s busy during the day. I don’t want him going back to that life, none of us do. If you try get him back to that then you’ll have Uncle Max, Aunt Liz, my parents. Me and his sister looking for you oh not to mention Uncle Michael and Aunt Ria. That’s my uncle,” she pointed to a pouring coffee. He looked up gruffly and saw her pointing him out to three strangers. He didn’t sense anything alien going on? Who were they and why was Katie talking to them?
“Katie? Any out of Towners?” he called and she nodded
“Just the normal kind Uncle Michael” she replied “They’re Jake’s friends from Arizona!”
“I see. Where is Jacob? Has he gone to classes?”
“Yeah he just left” she replied and he nodded she turned to the three and plastered on a fake smile. She wasn’t happy about them being here but they were Jake’s friends she would have to deal “You can stay and have some coffee if you want. We make the best coffee in town,” she said before hurrying off.

Liz met Jacob in the car after class; she decided to pick him up instead of him walking all the way home in the dark. Even with alien powers it was still dangerous to be walking round late at night. He climbed in and she started the engine
“I hear some friends of yours turned up at the café”
“Katie told you?”
“No Michael did. At first he thought it was the great alien invasion” she chuckled “Then Katie called me telling me all about them. And you” she added “Why didn’t you tell me you were straight?”
“Women weren’t the only people looking for boys in Arizona. Men paid just as much too and when they took me in I grew to care for Joe. It was just a sign of our friendship. I just don't see guys like I do girls... although I do care about Joe like a best friend or a cousin or something like that"
"I see" she said nodding "Katie was pretty upset that you would go back to your old ways"
"No" he said firmly "That's not what I'm going to do. I have it good here, I've got a place of my own, a girlfriend and family. I'm not about to ruin that"
"That's good to hear" she said and ruffled his hair.

Jacob walked in and found banners and streamers around the place. Maria came running at him and pushed him in the cupboard without any explanation and then all the lights were switched off.
Ana came up the steps from spending time at Nicky's. She had gone there and found he had gone out on her. Jerk! She thought after he stood her up! She was in a surly mood and she opened the door to find it dark, she flipped on the lights and everyone jumped out at her
"SURPRISE!" they shouted. Her eyes went wide and she gasped then went back outside shutting the door. She took a moment before opening the door and really seeing it. She broke into a grin when she saw everyone even Nicky standing there. She couldn't see Jacob though, was he still at class? The cupboard door creaked and out fell Jacob covered in bra's. Ana had put the laundry basket in there this morning and now he was covered with his mom and his sister's bra's
"Aaaaarggghh! Get em off! Get them off me!" he cried trying to throw the bra's off him. Everyone burst out laughing as he wriggled on the floor. He stood up brushing himself off
"Happy Birthday little sis" he said kissing her cheek
"Thank you and thanks for that little show. It was very entertaining!" she said and he blushed.
Everyone moved in as Liz pulled a cloth off her the table revealling her daughter's presents
"OHMYGOD I thought everyone had forgot!" she said as she began to unwrap the presents.
Someone knocked on the door and Jacob was the only one who heard it, he chuckled as Ana opened one of the presents and it was very risque. He opened the door to see this three best friends standing there
"Ya busy babe?" asked Joe
"Yeah it's my sister's birthday" he said
"Didn't know you had a sister" said Risa "She hot?"
"Please! Guys! She's my sister!" he whined and Jilly held up her hands
"Sorry bro. Look the reason we came he is because Joe is dying to get ahold of some meat and we wanna watch"
"I can't! This is my sister's birthday party! I can't leave I've just got here!" he said
"Well babe. We'll be at the Tumbleweed when it's over" said Joe handing him the room and telephone number on a piece of paper before wrapped one arm around his neck and pulling him down and slipping him the tongue. Then they were off walking down the path leaving Jacob dazed and flustered. He shut the door slipping the piece of paper into his pocket and turned round to see Katie standing there
"You okay?" she asked and he nodded
"Yeah" he replied "Yeah I'm fine. Come on let's go take a few pictures of Ana" he put his hand on the small of her back to lead her to the party but she stopped him
"I err... set up lots of candles and music for our place tonight. I was hoping that we could... you know. I want my first time to be with you" she whispered and he nodded then remembered the others
"Oh... I have to do something. I'm sorry I can't make tonight" he told her and tears filled her eyes
"You're going with them aren't you?" she asked before walking off shaking her head
"Kate..." he began but she ignored him and kept going.

He stood at the door nervously, he had been out here for ten minutes. Staring down at the little piece of paper Joe had given him, was he doing the right thing? He shook his head and moved to the door opening it then going inside.

Katie heard the door and turned around from getting changed for bed to see Jacob standing there.
"I thought you wanted to be with them. They are your friends after all" she said
"Yeah but I love you" he whispered cupping her cheek with one hand and kissing her passionately. She melted into him and he led he back to the bed. This was where he belonged.

Joe, Risa and Jilly all sat around the room crying, Jacob had abandoned them for his new life and they were all heartbroken. They had all loved him in one way or another and they felt betrayed by him.
"I'll make him pay! I'm gonna make him pay for breaking our hearts" he said angrily, making a promise to his girls. "I promise that I won't rest until Jacob Parker suffers like I do"

Katie and Jacob laid together under the sheets, they were worn out after their love making and now they were lying together talking quietly
"I'm glad you came back to me" said Katie as she idly drew patterns on his chest
"I'm glad too. We're two connected, you're lost without me and I'm lost without you. I just can't imagine my life without you"
"I know, it seems strange because my memories before you came home seem so empty like it wasn't me"
"I know what you mean" he replied as he rolled onto his side "I'm really sorry that my first time wasn't with you"
"What are you talking about? Of course it was, it was the first time with someone you love. Truly love all the way down to your soul" she said and he smiled
"I love you" he whispered and she cuddled up to him
"I love you too. Now let's get some sleep" she said pulling the blanket over them for warmth.

Ana came downstairs with her long hair a mess from tossing and turning all night. She had bad, bad dreams all night but she couldn't quite remember them. She reached for the coffee pot but her mom took it off her
"You know I don't like you drinking that stuff. Have you forgotten the Bridge Incident? It took us ages to cover that up"
"But I need it, I hardly slept at all last night" whined Ana, Liz shook her head and handed it to her daughter
"Just this once" she said before breaking out the good news "Aria and Kyle are coming home for two weeks. They called this morning and they're really excited about meeting Jacob"
"Hmm" nodded Ana as she sipped the hot coffee "I need to call everyone and thank them for their presents that they gave me" she said and Liz nodded "What time are Aunt Aria and Uncle Kyle going to be here?"
"Some time this afternoon" said Liz and Ana choked
"I have to go get ready! I have to tell everyone!" she cried rushing off back upstairs. Liz just chuckled at her daughter's enthusiasm.
Katie came through the door with Jacob and they both had the biggest grins on their faces
"Morning mom" said Jacob
"Morning Jake. Have a good night?" she asked and he locked eyes with Katie
"Yeah it was the best" he said
"Good. Katie I think you need to go upstairs and help Ana to get ready, Aunt Aria and Uncle Kyle are going to be here this afternoon"
"What! That's brilliant!" she cried rushing off upstairs excited as Ana was.
"So what's the deal with Aunt Aria and Uncle Kyle"
"You remember them don't you?" she asked but he shook his head
"No can't say that I do"
"Well Aria is my sister, she looks exactly like me except she has blue eyes and Kyle lived with Tess for a while"
"What? Him?" he gasped fearfully
"Don't worry. Kyle's changed, he's a Buddhist now... shaved his head and tried to change his name to Onam... Onam... I can never prenounce the damn thing! Ana used to call him Peanuts when she was little"
"Cute story" he said curtly "Still don't make me want to like him. So he'll be turning up this afternoon? Does he know that I'm here?"
"No, it's a surprise for them. Aria loves you so much" she said as she moved about the kitchen "Oh well we're going to be late for work. Let's go"
"Yeah sure let's go" he said following her out to the hall "Bye Katie! I'll see you later!" he called up the stairs
"Love you!" she cried back
"Love you too babe!" he shouted back and Liz just smiled. She was glad that Jacob had someone to love.

Katie and Ana stood nervously at the airport gate for their Aunt and Uncle from Tibet. They were both wearing their best Sunday clothes and were barely containing their excitement.

Joe, Risa and Jilly sat on the airport chairs watching the two girls holding hands
"Think they're gay?" asked Risa looking over the younger one with lust
"Who cares, we're here to get back at the bitch who stole Jay from us" he hissed and Risa backed down.
"I guess they're waiting for someone" said Jilly
"No shit Jilly, no they're goin on their honeymoon!" he snapped and she looked away
"You know you don't have to be a dick Joe. We all lost Jay" she said
"Whatever. Let's just get this over with" he said standing up and the other girls joined him reluctantly as he headed over to the two girls important to Jacob.

"There they are!" cried Ana pointing at her aunt and uncle as they came through the gate
"Uncle Kyle! Aunt Aria!" she ran over and threw her arms around them
"Ana! How are you Lil Lost" asked Kyle
"I'm good. I'm really good, my heart got fixed!" she said "It's all better and I don't have trouble breathing anymore. There's so much you have to find! We've got a surprise waiting for you back at the cafe! You're going to love him so much!" she said
"Liz didn't have another baby did she?" asked Aria in surprise "She never mentioned it in her emails!"
"No! No! Come on we have to get back!" she said,
"You drank coffee this morning didn't you?" asked Katie with a chuckle "Let's go to the car"
Kyle stopped her and pulled her into his arms as Ana and Aria headed to the car
"Good to see you Katherine" he said
"Good to see you too Uncle Kyle"
"How's Isabel?"
"She's fine... she misses her best friend. You spend too much time in Tibet"
"I know and that's why we're coming to stay here"
"What?" she gasped
"When I got powers after my first time with Aria I just lost it. She helped me through it and went with me while I sorted myself out. I'm sorted now and ready to come home and live my life"
"So you're really coming home? That's brilliant!" she hugged him
Aria had her arm around Ana's shoulder when some people stepped in front of them
"Hi... oh you're Jacob's friends aren't you?" she asked right before he pulled out a knife. Aria's first reaction was shock but due to the recent events Ana was ready for anything. She flung her hands up as her eyes glowed yellow and he went flying.
Kyle and Katie saw Ana using her powers and Kyle closed his eyes immediately setting up a mindwarp on everyone. He had come a long way with his powers, he practised everyday in Tibet and he was really good.
Ana was hyperventilating and the two girls who were friends with Jacob were looking at her with fear
"What are you!" she hissed before running over to help Joe

Katie and Ana stood nervously at the airport gate for their Aunt and Uncle from Tibet. They were both wearing their best Sunday clothes and were barely containing their excitement.

Joe, Risa and Jilly sat on the airport chairs watching the two girls holding hands
"Think they're gay?" asked Risa looking over the younger one with lust
"Who cares, we're here to get back at the bitch who stole Jay from us" he hissed and Risa backed down.
"I guess they're waiting for someone" said Jilly
"No shit Jilly, no they're goin on their honeymoon!" he snapped and she looked away
"You know you don't have to be a dick Joe. We all lost Jay" she said
"Whatever. Let's just get this over with" he said standing up and the other girls joined him reluctantly as he headed over to the two girls important to Jacob.

"There they are!" cried Ana pointing at her aunt and uncle as they came through the gate
"Uncle Kyle! Aunt Aria!" she ran over and threw her arms around them
"Ana! How are you Lil Lost" asked Kyle
"I'm good. I'm really good, my heart got fixed!" she said "It's all better and I don't have trouble breathing anymore. There's so much you have to find! We've got a surprise waiting for you back at the cafe! You're going to love him so much!" she said
"Liz didn't have another baby did she?" asked Aria in surprise "She never mentioned it in her emails!"
"No! No! Come on we have to get back!" she said,
"You drank coffee this morning didn't you?" asked Katie with a chuckle "Let's go to the car"
Kyle stopped her and pulled her into his arms as Ana and Aria headed to the car
"Good to see you Katherine" he said
"Good to see you too Uncle Kyle"
"How's Isabel?"
"She's fine... she misses her best friend. You spend too much time in Tibet"
"I know and that's why we're coming to stay here"
"What?" she gasped
"When I got powers after my first time with Aria I just lost it. She helped me through it and went with me while I sorted myself out. I'm sorted now and ready to come home and live my life"
"So you're really coming home? That's brilliant!" she hugged him
Aria had her arm around Ana's shoulder when some people stepped in front of them
"Hi... oh you're Jacob's friends aren't you?" she asked right before he pulled out a knife. Aria's first reaction was shock but due to the recent events Ana was ready for anything. She flung her hands up as her eyes glowed yellow and he went flying.
Kyle and Katie saw Ana using her powers and Kyle closed his eyes immediately setting up a mindwarp on everyone. He had come a long way with his powers, he practised everyday in Tibet and he was really good.
Ana was hyperventilating and the two girls who were friends with Jacob were looking at her with fear
"What are you!" she hissed before running over to help Joe

"Sure you can ride me home... I mean ride you home..." he trailed off feeling deeply embarrassed

Summary: Somebody dies leaving behind a child, I had intended for it to be Maria but I like her too much. So it's Tess. Liz takes the baby in and all the emotional baggage that comes with him.
A Note: Here's Jacob aged 3and Jacob aged 18.

Katie grabbed Ana's arm and pulled her away from them. Ana looked back at the damage she had done
"We're leaving now. Kyle and Aria will be a few minutes. They have to go get the tape of you using your powers" she explained "Keep walking with me and don't stop"
"But I... I..."
"You were defending yourself. And me" she finished for her "You've done nothing wrong" Ana stopped walking and closed her eyes tight before opening them again and looking over at the broken form of Joe lying motionless on the floor
"I killed him!" she screeched loudly and everyone stopped to look at her
"Ana!" cried Katie "You forgot to take your medicine again didn't you? Ana. You're having another episode, it's not real. Let's go home and get you nice and comfy. Maybe you can take a lie down" she suggested like she was talking to a baby. She looked at the people still staring at her "Sisters!" she joked as she roughly grabbed Ana's arm and pulled her the rest of the way out to the car park where their car was waiting.
"Ana don't say anything else and we'll get out of this alive ok?"
"Okay" she said in a daze "But I... I... oh god" she mumbled before falling limp in Katie's arms
"Oh great" she hugged pulling her small cousin into her arms and bundling her into the car. Kyle and Aria appeared with Jilly and Risa in tow, they had tear tracks down their faces
"We want to know what you do to him. We saw them make everyone else forget but we can't forget our whole lives. Tell us" said Jilly
"Fine. Get in we'll talk about it on the way" said Katie
"Wait" began Aria "Why are you even considering telling them?"
"It's a long story aunt Aria" began Katie as everyone climbed in and headed back to Parker House.

Jacob was on edge, from his connections to Ana and Katie he was a walking mess. Something big had happened, he felt panicky and shocked
"Look would you just sit down before you wear a hole in the floor. They're probably just excited" said Liz
"No, no that's not it. It's almost as if..."
"As if what?"
"I don't know. I feel scared and on edge, I know it's coming from them. Both of them. Whatever this is it's happening to both of them"
"Should we call the others?"
"I think we should yeah" he said as she stood up and got on the phone.
Maria, Nicky and Michael turned up and Isabel, Alex and Adam not too shortly after them. Isabel was in a state because she heard Katie was involved. All of them were staring at Jacob with anticipation
"They're back" he said finally looking up then to the door.
Aria and Kyle came through the door, followed by Jilly and Risa then Katie. Kyle was carrying Ana and he laid her down on the couch
"What happened!" cried Liz as she hurried over to Ana. Jacob moved over to his sister and knelt down next to her and his mom
"She passed out from shock. She kinda went overload on her powers" explained Katie
"That's what I felt. Why did she need to use her powers? You were only picking up Aria and that Kyle guy from the airport!"
"Well if you hadn't been screwing around with all sorts of shady freaks then this wouldn't have happened!" she shouted back
"What?" he looked to his two friends and noticed Joe was missing
"Where's Joe?"
"Joe?" asked Aria "Was he the guy who tried to kill Aria?"
"What?" gasped Jacob he looked to his friends but he only saw guilt on their faces "Is this true?"
"He... he said he wanted to get back at you for breaking our hearts. We all loved you Jay" Risa moved towards him but he held up his hand for her to stop
"You knew I had a life before you all. You all knew that! I told you that one day I would have to go back and I did. This is my home, not Arizona, here. You will always be my best friends but Katie holds my heart. She has done ever since I first met her when I was three. But you can't accept that, you couldn't just be happy for me you had to go ruin that and try and kill my sister?"
"It was Joe's idea..." began Jilly but he shook his head
"Yeah but you went along with it" he quipped and they both looked down "I think you should go back to Arizona"
"What about Joe? What about all that back there" hissed Risa "We could expose you freaks!"
"Not going to happen" Kyle stepped in and closed his eyes. He changed their memories so that Joe had broken up with them and ran off with their money. The girls looked around
"Thanks for letting us stay. I can't believe Joe ran off with all our money. You're a true pal Jay, we'll never forget you" said Jilly as she took hold of her best friends hand and they left.
"I guess this is a bad time to say welcome home eh?" said Kyle looking round.
