Zan walked the streets of New York itching to get out of there. He hated this planet and wanted to get home. Here he was no one, just a random guy in a big city. On Antar he was a king, someone that was worshipped.
Rath was a different story. He was content with his little life here. He gave up on the idea of going back years ago and was trying to blend in as much as possible. Zan and had several fights about that. When Kivar and Zan began talking about finding the king and his queen Rath decided to leave. He would not take part in what they wanted to do. They were both ruthless and would stop at nothing to get back.
When Rath overheard Kivar talking about making Zan look like a traitor and claiming the throne as his once they got back he went to Zan to tell him. Zan told Rath that he was jealous. They had a blow out and Rath packed his stuff and left.
Zan couldn’t have been happier about that. Kivar was not concentrating all his energy on fine tuning Zan’s powers. Zan naturally had the power to make anything explode by extending his hand. Over the years Kivar taught him how to mind warp a very dangerous but useful ability. Zan always wanted the be able to heal like the true king but would never have that power. That couldn’t be taught, only the true king had that power. This made Zan hate Max even more. It wasn’t until a few years ago that he found out that Maxwell Evans was the king of Antar.
Kivar had been having Cal followed and had someone follow him to New York when he made his visit to Max and Michael. They reported to Kivar that he had brought the destiny book with him which could only mean one thing. Kivar’s man slipped into the hallway of the dorm room where Cal was an overheard him call Max the king.
Kivar has been keeping tabs on Max and Michael ever since then. They never knew it but her was always around. He had the ability to change his appearance whenever he wanted to. He was at his college graduation and even went to California a few times to see him. He always lurked in the background. This was when Kivar noticed that Cal wasn’t around him much and that he was not being trained on how to use his powers.
Zan and Kivar had been waiting for the right time to confront Max, waiting until he claimed his queen. The time had come and plans were taking effect.
With the prospect of going home Zan was in great spirits. No one was happier then Kivar. As soon as they landed on Antar Zan would be arrested and Kivar would take the throne.

New Years eve rolled around and Isabel was preparing for the party. She had decided to get the food from a caterer so Max wouldn’t have to cook. Michael was to pick up the food and she would get the drinks. Tonight would be about celebrating their friendships and new relationships. Isabel had planned on talking to Liz about moving in with Max. She felt that he wanted to be near her but didn’t want to ask so she would take matters into her own hands.
At around 3:00 Isabel got a call from Michael
“ Isabel you can’t be serious about all this food.” He was staring at all the food that was being brought out
“ Michael just get the order. It’s not that much really. I know how you guys get so I wanted to make sure that there was enough for everyone.” Isabel was at the grocery store when he called
“ Alright your lucky that I cleaned out my truck otherwise I wouldn’t have enough room for all this. I’ll see you later.” He hung up laughing to himself when the man kept going to the back and bringing more trays out.
Isabel was busy getting the rest of the things on her list when the phone rang again.
“ Michael trust me we need that much food.” She yelled into the phone
“ Isabel?” Liz said laughing
“ Liz? Hi I’m sorry I thought you were Michael. What’s up?” She said grabbing another bottle of soda
“ Not much I was just wondering if you needed any help?” Liz was closing the Crash early due to the holiday
“ Umm yeah why don’t you meet me at home in an hour?” She didn’t need help but wanted to talk to Liz without Max around.
“ Ok sounds great. So you need me to bring anything?” Liz asked waving goodbye to some employees
“ No I just need help setting up. “ They said their goodbyes and Isabel finished her shopping
Liz made it to the house early and sat outside waiting for Isabel to show up. She was looking around the neighborhood and saw how quiet it was. She loved where she lived too but it was much nicer out here. A few minutes later she saw Isabel pull up.
“ I’m sorry. Were you waiting long?” Isabel asked jumping out of her car
“ It’s ok I was early.” Liz grabbed some of the bags out of the trunk
Once the got the bags inside Liz began to put the drinks in the refrigerator.
“ So how have you been lately?” Isabel asked not sure how to broach the subject
“ Good. You?” Liz felt uneasy. Like Isabel wanted to say something
“ Good. Let’s go outside I want to talk to you about something.” Isabel smiled and led Liz out back
“ I wanted to talk to you about Max.” Isabel began
“ O-Ok.” Liz said wondering what she wanted to tell her. Did she not approve of their relationship?
“ I just wanted to tell you that you make him so happy. I want to thank you for that. I also wanted to ask you if you ever thought about moving in with him?” Isabel tried to read Liz’s face
“ Well yeah I guess I did. But it’s too early for that and I don’t want him to leave you and come with me but I don’t think it would be economical for me to move here since the Crash is about 20 minutes away and you’re here so I don’t want to like intrude or anything plus Max hasn’t said anything and I don’t want to like pressure him.” Liz was cut off my Isabel laughing
“ I’m sorry.” She tried to catch her breath when Liz looked at her puzzled
“ It’s just that you and Max are so much alike it’s scary. He was feeling the same things you were. We talked about it the other night.”
“ You did?” Liz asked
“ Yeah. I know that you want to be with him and he wants to be with you, that’s a given. Yes it’s true that if you moved here it would be a drive for you to go to work. Don’t let me living here have anything to do with your decision though, there’s plenty of room here and I would not think that you were intruding or anything. If Max wants to go live with you then that’s fine too. I’m getting married soon and Max needs to have his own life as well. I’ll be ok for a few months. I’m sure Alex won’t mind keeping me company.” She winked at her
“ I don’t know Isabel. It just seems like it’s all going so fast.” Liz sighed and leaned back in her chair
“ well just think about it. I just want both of you to be happy. Forget about the status quo or things moving too fast. If it feels right then go for it. Don’t think so much about things just let them be.” Isabel placed her hand on Liz’s and gave her a light squeeze.
They went back in and finished putting away the groceries when Michael came in the house.
“ Need a little help here.” He called trying to balance two trays in one hand while opening the door
“ You guys need to learn how to lock the door too.” He scolded the girls
“ Yeah yeah yeah. Let’s help him before he starts crying again.” Isabel teased
“ How many people are coming again?” Liz asked looking at all the trays
“ Told you.” Michael teased
“ Oh stop it. It’s not THAT much food. You’ll be thanking me later trust me.” Isabel pointed and walked in the house
After they brought everything in Liz went home to get ready for tonight. Michael stayed to help Isabel and wait for Max. He needed to talk to him.

Maria had met Liz at her house so they could get ready together.
“ You are going to look so hot tonight girl.” Maria was sorting through her makeup case picking out things for Liz
“ I don’t want to wear a lot of make up.” Liz called from the bathroom while she wrapped a towel around herself
“ I know.” Maria laughed
“ Hey can I ask you a question?” Liz asked coming out of the bathroom
“ Sure you know you can.” Maria turned to face her
“ Well I wanted your opinion on something.” Liz sat on her bed and began to brush her hair
“ Ok shoot.”
“ What would you think about Max and I moving in together?” She paused waiting to hear what Maria would say
“ I’d say that it’s great.”
“ Really?” Liz asked
“ Yup. You guys are prefect for each other. It’s only natural to want to be together all the time. I say it’s a great idea. So is he moving here or are you going there?”
“ Well I haven’t really talked to Max about it. I’m not sure about that though yet.” Liz started to brush her hair again
“ You want my opinion?” Maria asked
“ Of course.”
“ I say he moves in with you. It’s nothing against Isabel but I know how you are and you will never be comfortable there which is going to put a strain on your relationship. In any case you need to talk to Max about it.” She turned back to the make up
Liz thought about what Maria said and she was right. It’s not that she didn’t like Isabel but if she were to stay there she would constantly be thinking that he was in the way and it would drive her crazy. She did need to talk to Max but would wait until tomorrow. She decided to enjoy the holiday.
Max wanted to celebrate the new year alone with Liz. At around 11:00 they went to his room going unnoticed by everyone except Isabel.
“ Max what are you doing?” She giggled
“ I want to be alone with you.” He had her against the door and was kissing her neck
“ Umm that feels good but won’t everyone notice that we are gone.” She didn’t want him to stop
“ I don’t care I want you and I can’t wait.” He cupped her ass and lifted her up. She wrapped her legs around him and attacked his lips.
Max moved then to his bed and began to slowly unbutton her pants.
“ God I love you so much Liz.” He said between placing kisses on her exposed skin
“ Me too Max.’ She loved the feel of lips on her skin
Liz wanted to feel him for real this time. She was going to have him not use a condom. After what Cal told her she couldn’t wait to feel him skin to skin. She hoped that he would want to.
“ Max?” She asked breathlessly
“ Yes.” He had lifted up her bra and was sucking on her hardened nipple
“ I want to feel you.” She hoped he knew what she meant. She didn’t think she could say it out loud.
“ Me too Princess. Are you sure?” He looked up to see the huge smile she had on her face. That sealed the deal for him.
He rolled off her and stripped off his jeans. He then slid her pants off of her. The only thing between them now was the silky material of her underwear. The only thing that would even separate them.
He wanted this to last and laid next to her instead of on her. They turned to face each other whispering words of their love for each other. They kissed until both their lips were puffy and red.
Liz couldn’t take it anymore and placed herself on Max’s lap.
She began licking a trail down his chest to his naval. She wanted to taste him.
“ Um Liz.” He moaned. When she wrapped her mouth around his member he was in shock. He didn’t expect her to do that.
“ Liz baby” She took her mouth off of him and placed a finger on his lips.
“ I want to. Let me make you feel good Max.” She began a slow up and down motion. She didn’t know what she was doing and hoped that she could give him pleasure.
Max was in heaven. He loved the feel of her on him. She was in a prefect rhythm and he felt himself coming dangerously close to the end.
“ Liz stop. I don’t think I can hold out much longer.” He laughed
She stopped and placed a kiss on his lips before lowering herself onto his shaft. The feeling was incredible. Max had never been with anyone without a condom and the feeling was intense for him. If he felt like he was on fire before he had exploded now.
Liz felt him deep inside her. The feeling was overwhelming and brought tears to her eyes. She felt so close to him at this moment. The man she loved, the man she would always love she thought.
She began a slow pace leaning back and placing her hands on his thighs. Max placed his hands on her hips to help her with her pace. He thrust his hips to meet her movements. He wanted to be deeper inside her and flipped them over so he could be on top.
Once they got situated he began slow deep thrusts. He hooked her legs around his arms and thrust in harder and harder
“ Am I hurting you?” He asked noticing the way she was squeezing her eyes closed
“ No I like it.” She opened her eyes and smiled at him. She felt him so deep inside her. She never wanted this to end. She wish she could stay in this room forever loving Max.
Max felt himself nearing the end and reached down to rub her swollen nub. He knew how to give her pleasure and wanted her to come over the edge with him. Max spilled his seed into Liz. He felt so free at the moment. He could feel his seed filler her up.
Liz felt him spilling onto her as she milked him. She felt like all her cells were on fire. It was a great feeling. They laid together not wanting to let each other go.
“ Happy New Year.” Max said looking at the clock as it read 1:30.
“ I love you.” Liz sighed and fell asleep

The next morning they all eat breakfast together and Michael and Maria said their goodbye’s.
“ I’m going to lay out by the pool.” Isabel said walking to her room to change.
“ I’ll join you.” Alex said with a wink and walked after her
“ What do you want to do today?” Max asked pulling Liz into his lap on the sofa
“ I actually wanted to talk to you about something.” Liz said leaning against his chest
“ Ok let’s go to my room then.” Liz got up and they walked to his room
“ Ok what’s up?” He asked sitting down
“ I wanted to talk to you about us living together.” She said unsure
“ Ok. Well what about it?”
“ I was wondering what you thought about it?” She sat on the other end of the bed
“ I would love that. That is if your ready for that. It’s a big step but I’m all for it.” He scooted closer to her and wrapped his arm around her shoulder
“ You would?” She looked up at him
“ Of course I would. I love you and I want to be with you. Why would you think otherwise?”
“ I don’t know. There is a small problem though.” She bit her lip
“ Ok what?”
“ Well where would we live? I mean you have this great house here and I’m sure you wouldn’t want to move into my tiny apartment.”
“ Liz I don’t care where we live as long as I’m with you. If you don’t want to stay there then that’s fine with me. I just want to be with you.” Max had been feeling that he needed to be near her lately.
“ Well honestly I would feel better if you moved in with me. It’s not that I don’t want to” Max crashed his lips onto her before she could finish
“ Consider it done princess.” He whispered in her ear
After talking it over with Isabel Max moved into Liz’s apartment. He didn’t want to leave Isabel at first but realized that it was something he needed to do. Something was telling him that this was the right thing to do. Alex promised that he would watch out for Isabel, something that made Max uncomfortable for a minute but then he realized that they were getting married soon. Once Isabel left he would have to decide what to do with the house. It was too big for he and Liz but he didn’t have the heart to sell it. He had so many good memories there. Figuring that he had time he decided not to think about for now.
“ Sorry that there is not much room in the closet.” Liz said sadly as he was hanging some of his suits up.
“ Don’t worry about it.” He said trying to find some space.
Liz sat on her bed and watched him pull things out of his bag and try to find space for them. She wanted to help him but he insisted on doing it himself. She was starting to think that it was a bad idea having him move here. There really wasn’t enough space in her bedroom for him. She decided to move some of her mothers things from the second bedroom. She could use that space for some of the things that she doesn’t use as much and make more room for Max’s things.
After Max unpacked most of what he brought from home they decided to order take out for dinner.
“ Ok tell me that’s wrong.” Max set down the container of Chinese he was eating
“ Nothing. What makes you say that?” She asked taken of guard that he asked
“ You’ve been distant all day. Tell me what it is? Are you having second thoughts?”
“ No! Not at all. It’s just….Oh forget it.” She turned away from him. She suddenly felt bad for asking him to move in with her. Something didn’t feel right about it. She thought it would make her happy but something was off.
“ Hey look at me. Tell me. Please.” He turned her face to look at him. He saw the tears in her eyes and wondered what was wrong
“ I don’t know. I just get this feeling that something isn’t right. I wanted you to move here with me. I want to be with you but now that you’re here I don’t know it just seems off.” Tears started rolling down her cheeks
Max didn’t know what to think about what she said. He felt like she didn’t want him there. Maybe she really was having second thoughts about them moving in together. He was angry now that he let himself be talked into it. He knew it was too soon but something was telling him that that’s not the problem.
“ How about I go back to my place for tonight. I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable. Maybe you just need time to really think about what you want. I want to be here but not like this. Not with you upset.” Max kissed her temple and let her lean back against his chest. He stroked her hair while silent tears slipped down her face.
Liz sat there listening to his heartbeat and thought about what she wanted. There was a voice inside her telling her to let him stay but something wasn’t right. She decided to ignore her feelings and let him go.
On the way home Max felt uneasy. He was racking his brain trying to figure out what was off.
Liz was sitting in her living room crying. She didn’t know why she was so emotional but she felt out of control. She was giving herself a headache she was crying so much. She felt like she screwed things up with Max. She didn’t want him to think that she was pushing him away. She stood up to wash her face when she heard a noise. It sounded like glass breaking. It was coming from downstairs.
She was walking down the stairs when she heard two men talking. She heard one of them say to make it look like a robbery. They were headed upstairs. She turned back around and quietly locked the door to the apartment.
“ What do I do?” She thought. She was frozen. She would always make fun of movies when the girl didn’t do what you thought was the right thing to do.
Max was about 5 minutes away from Liz’s house when he felt it. He couldn’t describe what it felt like but Cal was right. He knew that Liz was terrified at this moment. He turned his car around almost causing an accident. He tried calling Liz but the recording said it was not in service.
“ Fuck!” He threw his cell phone down
It felt like an eternity before he got there. When he pulled up he put the car in park and ran across the street. He saw that there was a broken window in the Crash Down and his heart sank.
The first thing he thought of was to call Michael. He ran back to his car and got his cell.
“ Michael you need to get down to the Crash ASAP and call the police. Someone has broken in.” Max rattled off quickly
“ What?” Michael asked
“ Just get down here now!!!” Max screamed and put the phone in his pocket.
He walked cautiously back to the restaurant and came in through the window that they broke. He looked around and quickly found that there was no one downstairs. The place looked like a hurricane came thought it. He heard a car pull up and turned to see that it was Michael.
“ Hey what the fuck happened here?” Michael asked looking at the mess
“ I guess someone broke in.” Max shrugged and decided to go check on Liz
“ I’m going to head upstairs and make sure Liz is ok. Call the police from your cell, they must have knocked out the phone lines.” Max headed up the back stairs.
He still had the feeling that something was wrong. He cautiously walked up the stairs and knocked on the door.
“ Liz baby it’s me.” He waited for an answer
“ Liz?” He asked getting alarmed that there was no response. He knocked harder and soon realized that the door wasn’t locked. He walked into the apartment and looked for Liz.
“ Liz are you here?” He asked in a shaky voice. The feeling never going away
When he got to the kitchen he saw Kyber huddled in the corner.
“ Hey buddy what’s wrong?” He picked the dog up and felt that it was shaking.
He grew alarmed and walked to Liz’s bedroom. That was the only other place she could be. He walked past the living room and didn’t her there either.
When he opened the door a wave of nausea hit him. He put Kyber down and dropped to his knees.
“ Oh no.”
Michael come upstairs after calling the police to check on Max and Liz.
“ Max?” He called walking into the apartment
“ Michael.” He called so Michael could follow his voice
Michael made it to the door way of Liz’s room
“ Holy shit!” Was all he could say
There were two men with masks on out cold on the ground in front to Liz.
“ What happened?” Max asked pulling Liz into his arms
“ I don’t know I heard a noise and then they came up here. I didn’t mean to I just put my hand up and this light came out of me. I was so scared Max.” She broke out into a sob.
“ Shhh it’s ok baby.” He stroked her hair trying to soothe her
“ We need to call Cal.” Max said to Michael who was checking to see if the men were dead.
Michael pulled out his cell and handed it to Max. Cal picked up right away and said he would take his private plane out there.
“ Cal should be here in a few hours. He’s heading out tonight.” Max said taking Liz out to the living room
“ Are they?” Max couldn’t even finish his sentence
“ No.” Michael knew what he was asking
“ What do you think happened?”
“ I don’t know Max. Maybe she is developing powers. “ Michael deducted
“ Well whatever it was I’m glad. They could have killed her. I wonder who they were?” He went to retrieve the men’s wallets. He pulled out the Id’s and wrote down the men’s names. He needed to come up with a plan to tell the police. They would never believe that Liz knocked out the two men by herself. He checked the bodies to see if there were any marking on them before the police got there.
“ Ok I say that we tell the police that I was here, they aren’t going to believe that Liz did this alone.” He looked at Liz to see if she was on board
“ Is that ok with you?” He asked her
“ Yeah your right.” She was staring at the wall
“ Ok so we’ll tell them that you were on your way over and you called the police.” Max was in full control of the situation
A few minutes later the police showed up and took their statements. They suspected it was a break in and took the men away.
Max hoped that they didn’t see anything that would arise questions.
“ Liz I think it’s better If you come home with me tonight.” Max whispered while kissing her temple
She shook her head yes and followed Max outside.
On the ride back she was silently crying. She now knew what the feeling was that she had. Something wasn’t right and it was what happened tonight. She silently cursed herself for thinking that it was something between her and Max. Had Max had been there maybe this wouldn’t have happened.
“ Are you ok?” He asked softly when he saw her staring out the window
“ I’m sorry Max. I should have known.” She turned to face him with tears streaking her face
“ How could you have known?” He pulled the car over and parked.
“ I felt that something was off and I thought it was you. I should have known it was something else.”
“ How could you have known? Liz you followed your instincts and granted they were wrong but there was nothing that you could have done. I’m just glad that you were able to defend yourself.” He really was grateful. He couldn’t imagine what he would do if something happened to her.
“ What do you think that was?” Liz asked just now realizing what happened earlier
“ I don’t know. I know that I have an shield to protect me. Maybe that’s what you have now. I guess since you were scared you protected yourself.” He really needed to talk to Cal
“ Yeah I guess so. It was just strange you know. I was just so scared and I felt a tingling in my hand. When I lifted my and up there was this white light and the next thing I knew they were on the ground.” She was in tears again
“ Let’s get home and wait for Cal ok?” He kissed her and turned back on the road
When the got back to the house Isabel was outside waiting for them
“ Oh my God are you guys ok?” She rushed towards Liz and pulled her into a hug
“ Yeah we’re fine Iz thanks.” Liz smiled up at her
“ Michael called me and told me what happened. I’m glad your ok Liz.”
“ Let’s get her inside.” Max said walking to the house
“ Do you want anything. I’ll make some tea.” Isabel got into her nurturing mode. She was so scared that something happened to Liz
“ Thank you.” Liz said sitting on the sofa
Max wrapped a blanket around her and pulled her closer to him. She rested her head against his chest while he stroked her hair whispering words of love.
Isabel came in a few minutes later with a hot cup of tea.
“ Here you go.” She handed the cup to Liz and sat in the love seat across from them.
“ Thanks Iz.” Liz sat up and took a sip of the Tea
“ Cal should be here soon.” Max said sitting up also
“ Good. Did you know who the men were?” Isabel asked
“ No I’ve never seen them before.” Liz answered
“ Do you think it was just a break in?”
“ I don’t know. I heard them say to make it look like a burglary but I’m not sure what they wanted. It didn’t look like they were just breaking in to rob me though. I got the feeling that they wanted to kidnap me or something.” She placed the tea down and snuggled up next to Max again
“ Hopefully the police will find out what they wanted.” Max said unconvinced that they would but wanted to sound hopeful.
“ Do you think they will remember anything about what I did?”
“ I don’t know. I hope not.” Max leaned back and closed his eyes. IT was a long night and he just wanted it to be over.
Three hours later Call arrived at Max’s house.
“ Sorry I’m here so late. I tried to get here as soon as I could.” He said taking a seat next to Liz
“ Are you alright?” He looked at her curiously
“ Yeah I’m fine now. Thank you for coming.”
“ It’s my duty. You don’t have to thank me. Besides I’m happy to be here. Now tell me what happened.” He sat back as Liz went through the nights events.
“ I see you have developed your shield then.” He smiled at her
“ You knew I would have this shield?” She asked
“ Yes I knew that you would eventually I just didn’t think you would have it so soon. That’s why I didn’t tell you about it before.” He said looking down he felt bad for not telling her
“ It’s ok. I’m just glad that I was able to stop them. I think they were trying to kidnap me.”
“ Well I’m going to the police station to find out. Don’t worry I will disguise myself as to not draw attention to myself. Now I’m going to head to the restaurant to have a look around then I will check into a hotel suite. You have my cell number call me if you need me. Get some rest your highness.” He kissed Liz’s hand and walked outside. Max told Liz he would be right back and walked out with Cal
“ There is something your not telling me.” He said as Cal went to get into the limo
“ You are very perceptive.” Cal smiled at him
“ Yeah so tell me what do you know.” Max crossed him arms over his chest
“ Well the reason I said I didn’t think she would have the shield so soon is because it should only happen when she is pregnant. I’m pretty sure that she isn’t so I really don’t know why she was able to use it.” Cal had one foot in the door of the limo
“ Wait a minute. Are you sure she’s not pregnant. I mean maybe an alien pregnancy is different. Why else would she have the shield then?” Max liked the thought her Liz being pregnant but also wondered if it could have happened so soon.
“ I only told you the other day of the only way she could get pregnant and as far as I know alien pregnancies are the same as human ones in terms of how long they last. You said that you used protection your first time so I don’t see how she could be pregnant. I will have to check something that I have in a book back home and let you know for sure but I don’t think she is pregnant.” Cal stepped into the limo and rolled the window down
“ Just relax Max. I’ll fix everything. It’s what I’m here for. I’ll call you tomorrow.” He rolled the window back up and the limo pulled away
Max went inside to find Isabel and Liz talking. He smiled, he loved that they got along so well and was glad that Isabel made her feel comfortable. Max made a decision that night not to let Liz be without him. He would move in with her if she wanted to or she would move in with him or they could get a new place. Either way he would not let he live alone. She meant too much to him.
Max carried Liz to bed a few minutes later when she had fallen asleep. He told Isabel to call the office and tell them that he would be taking a few days off. He also asked her to make sure that Maria knew what was going on.
Max was exhausted and fell asleep as soon as his head touched the pillow. He kept waking up on and off making sure that Liz was ok. Each time he looked at her she was sleeping peacefully. He was going to be dead tired in the morning.

Cal walked into the police station under the disguise of a new officer assigned to the case. He wanted to question the suspects to find out what they remembered from the night before.
After an hour of questioning he found that they didn’t remember much but they did tell him that they were hired but someone to kidnap Liz and take her to an abandoned warehouse. They gave Cal the name of the man that hired him and told them that he had pictures of Liz. He told him that they were planning on holding her for ransom. Cal was furious and quickly left the police station needing to talk to Max and Liz.
