Chapter 19

Rocky Point, Jamaica, 10 Minutes Later

From their arrival point the group travelled along the beach until they came to the Southeast point of the island. Once there they saw nothing but their escort simply knelt down in front of wall of rocks.

“Eh. Hello. Something up?” Max asked

“No Man, just waitin’.”

“You know, is it me or is it a little too dark for the Caribbean at this time of day?” Mitchell asked

“It is.” Carter said

A smile crossed the face of their guide, “It’s not dark Man, there’s more than enough light.” He said as he looked to the stars, “Besides, ya don’t know what yar talkin’ about. It’s midnight.”

“Midnight? When we reached that mountain on Avalon it was around 6pm.” Kyle said

“I guess crossing that energy barrier that brought us here much have caused some kind of temporal displacement.” Carter said

Max looked up, “How much of a displacement?”

“What date is it?” Isabel asked

“Tuesday the 3rd.”

“We jumped forward a day?” Liz asked with wide eyes

“Oh that’s not good. Chaya said that around three days.” Tess said

“And we’ve just lost one.” Michael said

“No need to wait anymore then. It’s time.” Their guide said as he stood up. Immediately he took a step toward the rock face and stepped through it as though there was nothing there.

“A hologram.” Carter said

“What did he mean it was time?” Maria said

“Maybe he was given a specific time to bring us here.” Vala said

“So how do we…?” Alex asked

“I think we just follow.” Max said as he took a step forward. He passed through the wall and was promptly followed by everyone else.

Inside…

They found themselves in a cave, it’s walls lined with small crystals that provided small amounts of light. There was nothing to see, no writing or engravings, no technology or even the slightest trace of life. They looked over everything but found nothing while their 2000 year old Jamaican escort simply leaned back against one of the walls.

“I don’t get it. Aside from these crystals, there’s nothing here.” Liz said

“Oh there’s plenty here. Ya just not seein’ it.”

“Well we’re here. So, what did you mean before when you said you were a test and not a guide?” Max asked

“The good glowy lady didn’t want the wrong people getting’ as far as you have. But if they did, I was to weed out the bad puppies.”

“How? What’s the test?” Liz asked

“You know what it is ya lookin’ for. Sangraal, another name for it is Holy Grail and lots a people go looking for that little jewel but no idea what it truly is. You do. There’s an old saying Grail Quests demand sacrifice. What ya willin’ ta sacrifice?”

Max looked at him, “I don’t understand.”

“It’s simple Man. You the king, you gotta make the call. So, dis is ya choice.” He said before he suddenly grabbed Liz and jumped into a segment of rock. The others darted after them but the rock was suddenly solid.

“LIZ!” Max called out as he hammered on the rock before he held his hand out and blasted it to no avail. There wasn’t so much as a blemish on the rock.

“Okay. I guess that isn’t ordinary rock.” Carter said

“Well that makes sense. Morgan La Fey set this up, she would want to make sure that someone like Adria couldn’t just blow passed her defences.” Daniel said

“Jackson, we’re one person down and no path to follow.”

“It doesn’t matter, that guy is dead.” Max said

“I’ll help.” Michael said, “No one takes someone from our little club and doesn’t get me ripping their intestines out through their throat.”

“Still we’ve got to find them. And there’s no…” Isabel paused as the far wall suddenly lit up with two symbols formed of blue light. “…thing.”

“Oh this is definitely a test.” Daniel said

“A test with Liz as the bait.” Maria said

“A test where Liz is the sacrifice.” Max said, “You heard what he said before he grabbed her. Grail quests demand sacrifice. Do you recognise those symbols?”

“No, there’s not like anything I’ve ever seen.” Daniel said, “But…”

“But?” Mitchell asked

“They do look familiar somehow.” Daniel said as he pulled out his laptop and started comparing the symbols to everything he had encountered.

General Landry’s Office, Stargate Command, Same Time

Chief Master Sergeant Harriman came up from the Control Room and moved passed the conference table to the General’s office. He knocked on the door and waited for a response.

“Come.” Landry said

Harriman opened the door and stepped inside, “General, SG-3 has returned form the planet but there’s no sign of them. As of now SG-1 have been off the grid for 24 hours.”

“SG-3 didn’t find anything?” Landry asked

“No. They went to the mountain, detected some kind of energy field surrounding it but no sign of Colonel Mitchell and the others.” Harriman said

“We’ll have to assume that they’re unable to check in and they’re working on obtaining the Sangraal.” Landry said

“Sir, what if something has happened to them and…?”

“Chief, they’re fine. They’re always fine…maybe one or two cases of being up against the wall a few times but they’ve always come through.”

“Yes sir.”

“What about the Odyssey?” Landry asked

“They arrived on station at the Ori Supergate 1 hour ago. They’ve reported that there are energy fluctuations being translated through the wormhole into this galaxy from the Pegasus side.”

The general sighed, “Sergeant, contact the IOA and let them know. In the meantime I’ll contact the Jaffa and Tok’ra forces. It looks like we may need them soon.”

“Sir, after the last time when the first four Ori ships came through…they wont be open to helping.”

“I know but I still need to ask. We only have three ships and the Daedalus is on its way to Pegasus.” Landry said

“General there is one other thing.” Harriman said, “The Theseus picked up a transport beacon being activated in some woodland on the west coast. They beamed one person on board. He was turned over to the NID for transport to here.”

“Who?”

“Dr Sandeman.”

“What? After Max Guevara’s report on the X-Ville destruction I didn’t think we’d hear from him again for some time.”

“Well, we’ve got him now. He’s claimed to have killed a couple of members of the leadership of this breeding cult while taking out a device in their possession that was their greatest item. Without it their stability of their leaders is questionable.”

“What was the device?”

“Sandeman said that it was an Egyptian sarcophagus of alien origin.” Harriman said, “Without it, their leader who has been alive for thousands of years can’t heal himself any longer.”

“A Goa’uld sarcophagus…get Max and Logan up here. Anything to do with this cult, I want them in on.”

“Yes sir. I’ll call them immediately.”

Harriman left the room and headed off to call the Transgenic and her new fiancé. Landry in the meantime headed off to the Control room to dial up the address of the planet chosen to replace Dakara as the capitol of the Jaffa nation and afterwards he contacted the Tok’ra. As expected they were reluctant to commit their scarce military forces to an overwhelming force such as the Ori invasion ships but he did invite the Tok’ra to Earth, there was something in their possession that he needed to discuss with them – Sandeman’s cloned symbiote of the Tok’ra queen Egeria.

VIP Guest Quarters, 2 Levels Up…

With the intent on getting up early to go and scout possible new homes on alien worlds however a simple nights sleep didn’t last long. At some point they woke up to find themselves embraced intimately and their eyes locked before their lips found each other. They didn’t say anything, they didn’t have to as they held each other so closely that they were virtually one body. The two lovers kissed passionately as they wrapped their arms around each other and sank into the warmth of each other and their bed. Logan ran his fingers through her soft dark hair; it was then he looked into her eyes. His eyes conveyed a silent promise to always be by her side. She moaned into the kiss as left her wanting mouth and started to kiss down he neck. Logan’s hands slowly glided down her sleeveless t-shirt and lifted the hem, resting his palms on the now exposed flesh.

As they stopped they looked into each others inviting eyes, the electricity between them intensified as it always did. Max reached down and cupped his crotch. Logan groaned at the contact and couldn’t help but cup Max’s sweet face and kiss her. Max pulled him closer, never letting her grip on his sensitive flesh go but Logan had become filled with lust and grabbed on to her top and ripped it open, as he pushed Max back down onto their bed. Max wasn’t wearing a bra and Logan started kissing down her front, pausing on her breasts as he caressed and kissed them. He slowly and gently bit into each soft mound but licked and sucked each nipple as though he were a starved man.

All though this Max was busy pushing his boxers down to his ankles – she too was like a ravenous animal at the moment, she would not be denied the intimate touch of her fiancé any more tonight, it had been a good 26 hours since their last primal tryst together. Soon, as Logan kicked his boxers off his feet and out of the bed, she started to slip off her panties and she tossed them away leaving them both naked. Then Logan decided to make her just that little but hotter by running his finger around her bellybutton and he enjoyed her reaction.

Logan pulled her legs slightly apart and kissed his way up her leg until his face millimetres away from her. Max’s whole body quivered as she felt his hot breath between her legs. Logan opened his mouth and let his extended tongue have its way with her. Max spread her legs further from him, to give him more access to her and then raised one foot so that it was resting on Logan’s shoulder giving him all the access he wanted to her.

“Hmmmm…Logan...ooooooooooohh…Hmmmmmmmmm.”

Moving and writhing against the soft materials covering their bed aided in the sensations moving through her body but soon she pushed Logan away. Logan fell backwards onto the floor, leaving them both surprised but then Max’s instincts to let her body meld with Logan’s always sparked a little bit of extra strength. As she slowly and sexily slipped off the bed, she walked over to his position and dropped to her hands and knees before she started to crawl over to him. Logan loved watching his beloved eagerly embrace her sexual side.

Max only smiled harder as she watched Logan stroke his dick firmly, making sure that he was hard enough for her, she moved into position by kneeling over his waist. Logan ran his hands up the sides of her legs as she descended upon him but then he watched with wonder filled eyes when she was inches from his throbbing erection. Max grabbed on to him causing him to moan and gasp as she gently stroked his manhood, she didn’t want him to simply moan, Max wanted him to cry out loud. The privacy of their room only went so far as the thin door that led to the rest of the base, but they didn’t care if anyone outside heard them. Max looked into his eyes as she raised her hips and moved his penis in to position and sat back down on to it.

Max had discovered a new side to herself long ago when Logan had first lay upon her body and pushed into her. A feeling far beyond any encounter she ever had from when she simply was enjoying herself or in the throes of heat. She enjoyed control in many of their trysts as did Logan but both would gladly give it up to the other depending on their mood at the time but right here, right now she was controlling every contact the two of them shared and she revelled in it. Max had let her body sink down onto his dick and completely engulf him as his hands started to caress her warm body that was only getting hotter. Slowly Max started to move, lifting and lowering herself on his length of rock hard meat.

“Hmmm, ahhhhh…Logan…ughnnnnn…Logan…hmmmmmmmmm…” Max moaned as she continually but her lower lip

“GHNNnnnn…MAX…So tight…UGHNNNN…yesss…Hmmmmm…ughnnnnn…” Logan groaned as he watched her body slide up and down above his.

Soon her pace quickened and their breathing got deeper and more passionate. Sweat started to form on her brow and her skin glistened in the light. Logan reached up to caress her breasts, he cupped the mounds of flesh and squeezed, Max reached her hands up and rested them over Logan’s for a while before she moved them from her chest. Their fingers interlocked and Max pressed down upon them to increase her movements through the added leverage as she continued to push up and down, letting his cock slide in and out of her enflamed body. The only movement Logan was capable of was to thrust upward to meet Max as she came down, both were going slowly, Max grinding her hips and undulating them back and forth; this had become an act of pure love as it always was when they had sex and neither wanted to end.

“Ugh…ugh…UGHNNNN…YESSS…OH GOD BABY…UGHNNNNN!”

“Oh god…yesss…yessssss…YESSSSSS…YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!”

“Max…so…cloooooseeee…”

“Give it to me Logan…ugnnnnn…please….”

“Ughnnnn…”

“Ohhhhh…yesss…”

“Ughnnnn…”

“UGHNNNNN...”

“UGHNNNNNNNNN YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!” They cried together over and over again

Soon they couldn’t help themselves and the pace of their lovemaking had increased quite a bit, both were moaning and grunting and both were on the verge of collapse. Max moved upon his body so wildly that it had caused them to move, Logan was sure that he would end up with a carpet burn but then it wouldn’t have been the first for either of them and it was handy that they could heal fast. Each time his hard penis was swallowed up by her body, they both moaned as they felt him reach her depths and couldn’t go any further. Then Logan stopped thrusting up and Max soon leaned over his body, desperate to feel his lips against hers again, she merely began to rock her hips back and forth, both wanted to cum badly so each one was deep yet sharp and quick.

“URGHHHHHH…ARHHHHHHHHHH.”

“Aghhhhh…Ughnnnn…jeez. UGHN…Ughnnnnn…” Logan groaned out

“Hmmm…ghhnnnn…ghnnn…ghnnnnnnnnnn…”

“HMMMMMMmmmmmmm…” Logan moaned

“OHHH YEAAAHHHH. UHMMM, GOD…LOGANXXXXXXX.” Max screamed as her body reached the end.

Within seconds Logan could take no more, he sat up and keeping Max where she was he nibbled on a nipple while Max continued to move back and forth and then they both came. The quivering sensations of each muscle contracting within her pussy set off his own blinding orgasm and shot his potent seed into her body again and again as they held each other through it. Although both were spent Logan continued to gently thrust up into Max’s waiting hole and her abdomen still convulsed since her climax had not yet subsided. She wrapped her legs and arms around him, keeping him close and he wrapped his arms around her bringing her even closer. Both panting for each breath, they never said a word they didn’t need to. They kissed as Logan ran one hand over her sweat soaked face and moved it through her wet hair. When that kiss broke, Max couldn’t help herself and started kissing wherever she could, her lips moved over his muscular shoulders & neck and tasted her own sweat that had drpped onto his flesh. Before long they both fell to the floor and stayed their until they could move again.

Max rolled off Logan and she immediately rolled into his arms to rest her head on his chest while he stroked her hair lovingly. Both were utterly sated and couldn’t be more content than they were right now.

“It is definitely official.” Max said

“What is?” Logan asked

“Your stamina is through the roof and then some.” Max said with a smile before leaning up to kiss him, “Trust me, you could put one of my guys to shame.”

“Well I guess our little discovery of what I am is a good thing.” Logan said

“I can live with it.” Max said

“Hmm, do you thing these tattoos are every going to fade?” Logan asked as he looked over her arm

“They did last time.” Max said, “You don’t like?”

“Well they do give you a little bit more of that exotic allure, I just don’t like what dear old dad did to you.”

“You mean us.” Max said

“I just think we could both do without the constant reminder.” Logan said

“Amen to that.” Max said

“Max Guevara and Logan Cale, please report to the Briefing Room ASAP.” Came Harriman’s voice from over the intercom.

“Oh man, doesn’t anyone sleep around here?” Max asked

“We don’t.” Logan said

“We were having sex.” Max said

“For 4 hours.” Logan said

“What?” Max asked with surprise and looked at the clock, “Wow. Really through the roof.”

Logan smiled and kissed her forehead. “Come on, let’s go.” Together the two of them climbed out of bed and got dressed before they headed off.

Rocky Point, Southeast Jamaica, 01:00am

Daniel stood by the wall and looked through every page of reference material he had on his laptop but with very little results. “Agrrr…there’s nothing here. I don’t recognise these symbols at all. They’re not Ancient design, not Asgard, Nox or Furling.”

“No connection to the Four Race Alliance?” Mitchell asked

“That asshole is doing god knows what to Liz and we’re just hanging around.” Max said angrily

“Max, we’re not doing nothing. Getting through this gets to…her.” Tess said as she glanced at the symbols

“What?” Max asked

“You see something?” Kyle asked

“Uh, yes I think. It was just for a moment.”

“Tess, what?” Daniel asked

“The language is Ancient.” Tess said

“Uh, no it’s not.” Daniel said

“It is also Furling, Asgard and Nox. The languages are overlapped…uh super imposed over each other. It’s almost like someone took the symbols and intertwined them.”

Everyone squinted at the symbols. “Why would they do that?” Vala asked

“How did you see that?” Daniel asked as though the question was of more precedence

“I don’t know, I just did.” Tess said as she waved her hand over the symbols to bring out the Ancient Text. Daniel translated it before Tess then brought out, one by one, the other three languages.

“Okay, the left side, all the languages say Water. On the Right, Fire.” Daniel said

“Fire. That’s the central idea around the Ori faith isn’t it?” Alex said

“Yes.” Daniel said

“So if they’re fire, then opposing them would be water.” Max said as he put his hand over the water symbol.

The wall with the symbol suddenly broke apart and the fragments were blown back, expanding the cavern they were in. Before them stood an obelisk of Ancient design with a crystal set at head height. It was the only thing in the room and all moved up to it. Daniel tried touching it, he’d seen similar technology with the Asgard transport pillars but nothing happened this time.

“Well, worth a try.” Mitchell said

Max thought for a moment, “He said he wanted to be sure.”

“What?” Michael asked

“We’re following a plan that was laid out. Morgan Le Fay may have been sent to stop Merlin but she knew he was right about the Ori so instead of destroying the weapon she hid it. This place is to weed out the wrong people from getting the weapon. The first was for intelligence, understanding the languages of the Alliance. Understanding how to use the weapon would be part of that. But there’s also power, the ability to use it.”

“So?” Isabel asked

“So we’re not Antarians anymore. We’re Ancients. Our powers are the same as the Ancients but without the knowledge we were limited in our use. Now…there’s nothing stopping us. We can bring our power out to full potential.” Max said as he stepped forward toward the obelisk and held out his hands.

Everyone watched as his entire body glowed before the energy streamed out of his hands toward the crystal. The crystal then reacted and started to glow as though it was feeding on Max’s powers and building up a charge. He just kept going and going before his sister, Michael and Tess both joined in to make sure he didn’t over exert himself. They may have just gained a massive power boost but they were still new to it and didn’t know what their limit was. They may need that power soon and if so they didn’t want any one of them to be too exhausted if that time came.

Briefing Room, Stargate Command, Same Time

Max and Logan walked hand in hand into the briefing room but their expressions were anything but happy once they saw Sandeman sitting at the table with Landry.

“Oh no, not again.” Logan said

“Good to see you as well.” Sandeman said and then saw the ring on Max’s finger, “Well that’s about time.”

“Enough of trying to play the dear old dad.” Logan said, “What do you want?”

“Hmm, this is what I get for bringing you both into the world?” Sandeman said

“Forget that. You did what you wanted to for some godforsaken reason. But yes, you did and thank you. We’ve got each other, we don’t need you.” Max said

“Quite true, you do have each other. And pretty soon I’m pretty sure I’m going to be a grandfather.” Sandeman said

“Are you kidding? Maybe someday but there is no way that right now I’m ready to hand up the ass kicking for dippers.” Max said

“Hmm, then might I suggest you learn the concept of birth control. Going bareback is just asking for trouble then.” Sandeman said

“You’ve watched us?” Max asked

“From time to time.” Sandeman said

“I think I’m going to be sick.” Logan said

“I keep regular tabs on you both. I can’t help it if you can’t keep your hands off each other since you got cured of that virus.” Sandeman said

“Wait, you’re not actually saying that I’m…I’m…” Max tried not to say it

“No. You are most certainly not pregnant. If you and Logan have sex around 15:00 3 days from now then conception is ensured.” Sandeman said

“How do you know that? No wait, I don’t even want to know.” Max said

“Well as disturbing as that piece of information is, I think you both should hear what the Doctor has to say.” Landry said

“Why? Is he going to tell me that my mother wasn’t the only woman he violated and that I’ve got lots of brothers and sisters running around?” Logan asked

“Oh, you’re an only child as far as myself being your parent is concerned. You are unique as is Max here. You two are made for each other. The Ancients have a plan, a plan to give us at least a chance of survival.” Sandeman said

“What do you know about the Ancients?” Max asked

“Oh quite a bit. I’ve been working with a couple of them since long before you arrived in this time.” Sandeman said, “They’re gone now so it’s up to me to fulfil the part of the plan. You see they knew about the corruption in my little branch of humanity and knew that if left unattended they would destroy us as much as the Ori would. They were the ones who originally taught me genetics to work on you Logan, when that failed it turned to starting from scratch with Max. I never suspected that Transgenic blood in him would turn you, Logan, into what I needed from Max. So both will walk the path instead of just one.”

“What path?” Logan asked

“To reshape the Familiars to what they should have been.” Landry said

“They need knew leadership.” Sandeman said

“Let me guess.” Max said, “That would be you.”

“No, that’s you Logan, and you Max. Both Familiars and Transgenics will become enhanced by your joining.”

“So what? You want us to get hitched and unify our peoples just like that?” Max asked

“Familiars have a strong sense of inheriting through the bloodlines. My family is descendant of the founder of our race. Kill him and you inherit his throne as it were.” Sandeman said

“You have to be kidding right?” Logan asked, “You want me to kill?”

“Max doesn’t have a problem with it.” Sandeman said

“I’m trained to do it. Logan did everything he could to save lives. Oh and for the record, yes I do have a problem with it.” Max said

“Well, you have a choice. You kill him, end the nightmare that has swallowed our race, or he will kill you Logan…possibly even Max if she is able to defend herself from Ahriman mating with her.” Sandeman said

“He’s coming?” Logan asked

“Yes. I followed the plan and right now he’s angry enough to tear through any obstacle to get even.” Sandeman said

“Any obstacle? Like the defences of this mountain?” Landry asked

“He would build himself a rocket to reach a space station if need be.” Sandeman said, “He’s coming for the two of you so removing him as a threat and taking his place in leadership will remove the threat of every Familiar to you and anyone else.”

“They’ll stop, just like that, after thousands of years?” Logan asked

“Oh yes. Our family line is bred for political and leadership duties. Of course we’ve interbred with the other family lines to proved our enhanced mental and physical attributes throughout our race but leading is our calling. The others will obey you as they obey him.” Sandeman said

Max looked at Logan, “We don’t have a choice do we?” Logan asked

“No.” Max said, “Not if we actually want to make it to the wedding, let alone making sure all my people are safe.”

“Yeah.” Logan said, “How do we find them?”

“I already have given the co-ordinates to the General’s people. They’ll set you up with what equipment you need and I suggest you get some Transgenics down here to help.” Sandeman said

“No. I’m not endangering any of my people.” Max said

“You know Alec’s going to go nuts over that one.” Logan said

“He may like to make sure that he sticks it to the people that wiped our town from the map but he’s going to be a dad and like hell I’m letting the first born kids in this year not have their dad around.” Max said

“So we do this. Together.”

“Yes.” Max said and turned to Landry, “General, got anything that really makes a big boom?”

“Lots of things, all at your disposal.” Landry said

“Then, I think we could use a place where we can come up with a plan or two of our own.” Logan said

“Good, get to work. When you’re ready let me know. In the meantime Dr Sandeman and I have an appointment to keep.” Landry said

“Oh yeah? Where?” Max asked

“The Tok’ra are sending a representative from their facility on Kelash.” Landry said. After a few moments all of them left and headed out toward their respective assignments.

Rocky Point, Southeast Jamaica, 01:20

In the cavern, Max, Isabel, Michael and Tess were glowing and filling the chamber so brightly that it almost seemed like daylight. The crystal in the centre of the obelisk continued to glow until all of a sudden it sent out mighty pulse that once again shattered the walls of the cave to expose a larger one. Its walls were carved and chiselled until they were perfectly smooth but large segments contained massive segments of text.

“My god.” Daniel said as he read it all

“What is it?” Carter asked

“This is everything, a record of every year of the Ancient’s history. From before they came here when they called themselves Alterans to just after they arrived back when they evacuated Atlantis. There’s about a 7 million year gap between when Atlantis left Earth but they picked it up again describing how many chose to stay here, and built the younger civilisations in out past while many scattered throughout the galaxy to meditate until they Ascended. I mean…this is really incredible.” Daniel said

“Ya man, it is.” Echoed the voice of the one who guided them here.

“You son of a…where’s Liz?” Max yelled out

“Right here, young king.”

A light switched on in a corner of the chamber to reveal Liz, bound and gagged upon a ledge. Next to her on a carved block of marble was the glowing red orb of the Sangraal. However, what concerned them the most was that beneath their individual ledges there was a fiery glow. Moving a little closer they saw a river of lava exposed for that one little segment.

“Oh dear god.” Isabel said as she and the others quickly came to understand what was meant by sacrifice.

“Here, yar powers won’t work man. This place shuts them down. On the left ya got yar ladylove, on the right the Sangraal. Choose.”

“What?” Max asked

“Choose.”

“Now wait just a goddamned minutes.” Mitchell yelled out as he lifted his gun and stepped forward. All of a sudden every weapon they held vanished right out of their hands before bars of light descended around them, ensnaring them.

Daniel reached out and touched the light. “Aghh!” he cried out before withdrawing his hand

“The pain goes up each time ya touch it. Touch it fives time and all that will be left is ash. Choose. Whichever one you don’t choose will fall down into the lava, the other will be given to ya.”

Max looked into Liz’s eyes as she struggled to get free but this place damned her own abilities as well. “I…I can’t.” Max said

“Why not? The choice is easy. Choose the Sangraal and save the galaxy. Choose the woman, you live happy…for a time.”

“I can’t make this choice. I cannot not choose Liz.” Max said

“Then choose da woman.”

“At the expense of the galaxy and god knows what else.” Max said as he looked to Mitchell

“None a the others can choose for ya Max, only the heir can.”

“Max isn’t the only heir.” Isabel said

“Ah, if that’s the way ya want to play it then young Mr Whitman can certainly take her place.”

“I…eh…” Isabel said, as she suddenly felt incredibly hesitant while looking at Alex

“Not an easy choice, is it?” Max asked his sister

“No.”

“We can’t spend all day here. You got thirty seconds Max, or I let both fall.”

“I can’t give up Liz.” Max said

“If not, all die.”

Max had more than a tear in his eye as he looked at Liz. Through their connection he felt her in his thoughts and could swear she was calming his feelings. “Sorry.” He said, “I choose the Sangraal.”

“So be it Man.”

All of a sudden the ledge Liz was on crumbled and they heard her scream under the gag as she fell down into the pit and waiting molten rock.

“NO!” they all screamed before they were engulfed in a bright flash of light

Avalon, Immediately Following

Everyone arrived to find themselves on a grass field at the foot of the lone mountain on Avalon. They could see a shimmering light in the air and knew they were on the other side of the energy barrier that transported them to Jamaica. While they probably knew there had been another time jump from returning here, that wasn’t what was on their minds right now. Michael had his arms around Maria as she cried, all were hugging their lovers closely as Max gripped his fists tightly. SG-1 looked on and could do nothing for them but they did note that they were minus one anti-Ori weapon.

All of a sudden there was a tremor, a massive tremor that knocked them all off their feet. In moments their attention was brought to the mountain by their side. They watched as the massive rocks started to sink lower and lower into the ground and as it went down so too did the energy barrier around it. As much as they couldn’t believe what they were seeing it was happening, the mountain was being pulled into the ground.

Then all of a sudden the sides of it spit at four points, pulling apart to reveal that the mountain was completely hollow. The four sides kept going lower until they were gone and revealed what it was concealing. Before the stunned group was a massive statue nearly as big as the mountain that hid it, it was of a single human male that was sitting on it’s base with his hands cupped before him. In those cupped hands floated the Sangraal.

“Wow, that’s a statue.” Vala said

“I take it none of you have ever seen anything like this?” Alex asked

“Oh, we’ve seen large monuments before that were built by the Ancients. In fact we found a repository in a statue that looked like this but it wasn’t nearly as big.” Carter said

“Well, aren’t any of you going to say hello?”

They all turned around to see Liz standing there, apparently unharmed with a smile on her face. “Liz?” Max said as he immediately wrapped his arms around her in a tight hug

“OH. Max, Furlings still need to breath…air please.” Liz said before he released but soon kissed her in exchange

“Uh…what happened?” Michael asked

“It was a hologram, the lava that is. A really hot hologram, I felt the heat from where I was sitting in that cave. I thought it was real. When I fell and passed through the hologram I was transported here.” Liz said

“No, no, no. Liz? What happened?” Maria said

“Oh, you passed the test.” Liz said, “Uh…hmm, how do I explain this? Okay. How do separate the good guys from the Ori? The willingness to sacrifice that which you hold dearest to your heart for the betterment of all.”

“How is that supposed to pick out Ori followers? No matter what, we’d all have to choose the Sangraal. It’s the only hope we have.” Mitchell said

“Yes but that wasn’t the test. The Sangraal was here not there. By passing the test the mountain opened.” Daniel said

“It was about pain.” Max said, “How I felt about loosing Liz. Which was the worst thing I ever felt. If an Ori follower made the choice of the Sangraal, to loose a loved one like that they wouldn’t have felt the same pain.”

“Why? Oh, right. They believe that through their devoted worship the person they lost would ascend and live forever.” Mitchell said

“And I thought I was really loosing Liz. There must have been some sensor or something in there that could pick up what I was feeling so when it happened…”

“We got sent back here and the door, if we can call it that, opened.” Daniel said, “The Ori may have been sent back but they wouldn’t have gotten the weapon.”

“Then let’s get it.” Max said as he held up his hand. The Sangraal left the hands of the statue and hovered the distance over to his hand where it came to rest. Everyone looked at the little ball.

“That’s it?” Maria asked

“That’s it.” Daniel said

“So how do we use it? I don’t see an on switch.” Kyle said

“We get it back to Earth.” Tess said

“Let’s go.” Mitchell said

“Uh, that’s a really long walk back.” Alex said

“Not really. It’s actually less than a step.” Liz said

Everyone looked at her as she looked to the monument. The eyes of it glowed and they were all swept away, the local gate activated and they were sent through.

Gate Room, Stargate Command, Same Time

In front of the ramp up to the gate, General Landry stood with members of the Tok’ra and Sandeman. The Tok’ra were running scans over a glass tank in which swam a symbiote, the clone of their queen and the one who literally spawned their race.

“Well?” one asked

“Her genetic structure is stable and matches 100% to Egeria.”

“How is this possible?”

“Without authorisation, Dr Sandeman here was a geneticist with a rather unique capability. He used genetic samples taken from when the original Egeria was being experimented on whist on Pangar.” Landry said

“Why would you do this doctor?”

“I was instructed to. Some friends of mine who are now gone. They insisted on her resurrection as a matter of fact, something about not letting a good race go extinct.” Sandeman said

“She is still quite young but…she is Egeria.”

“Doctor you may have saved our race for extinction.”

“Well not quite. Your race is an off-shoot of the Goa’uld but despite your philosophical differences regarding how you exist and deal with humans, you both need hosts with which to live. To that end…here.” Sandeman said as he handed over a file.

“And this is?”

“Complete instructions on using genetic samples from your current hosts to create viable hosts that are predisposed to accept the symbiosis without the need for maturation within a Jaffa pouch. Also included is a serum that will increase the reproductive durability of your hosts. Many of you enter into relationships and take mates but pregnancy is forbidden due to the fact that the children would come forth stillborn unless the symbiote of the mother sleeps.”

“We have researched such thinks for centuries with no results. We thought it wasn’t possible.”

“Well it will take a little more research. I haven’t exactly had the opportunity to fully test it outside a computer model.” Sandeman said

“Your computer technology is rather limited.”

“Oh the computer I used was an Ancient system. It replicated to within a 99.87% accuracy of how things work in reality. So everything should be okay bit that extra 0.13% accounts for unknown variables. Eliminating that variance can only be done in the real world through work with the subject itself.” Sandeman said

“I understand your new base is intended to be your new, permanent, homeworld. Such research would be best done on a lab there.” Landry said

“Agreed. And yes, we are currently constructing a tunnel network on Kelash that is far bigger than any facility we have previously constructed. Without having to worry about or fighting the Goa’uld it will be effectively our first city.”

Just then the gate came on without any warning. Instantly the guards in the room reached for their weapons and the control room closed the Iris. However it couldn’t defend against the Ancient technology that was being used. With a rippling distortion in the air, SG-1 and their company appeared in the gate room.

“Okay, that was odd.” Maria said

“Is everyone okay…and in one piece?” Mitchell asked

“Yes, I think so.” Max said

“SG-1, where the hell have you been?” Landry asked

“Avalon sir, then Jamaica and then back to Avalon.” Mitchell said

“Jamaica? Did you get the weapon?” Landry asked

“Right here.” Max said as he pulled the orb out of his pocket. Everyone in the room looked at it as though it was their only salvation.

“How can it be used? You’re running short on time and you’ve been out of contact for over 72 hours.”

“What?” they all asked

“The temporal displacement of the energy barrier. It cost us more time than I first thought.” Carter said

“Yeah, but three days. That’s how long Chaya said we had before…”

The Supergate…

The Odyssey stood a short distance away from the Supergate, just close enough to keep an eye on the great ring. The ship itself was invisible, a cloaking device borrowed from one of the Atlantis Puddle Jumpers had been installed on the theory since that it was Ancient technology it might not be detected by the comparably power of the Ori.

“Status?” Colonel Hodgkin’s asked

“Stealth mode generator operating within normal parameters Colonel.” His XO said

“Good, let me know if anything chang…” he was interrupted by a series of beeps coming fro a terminal. “What is that?”

“The Supergate is destabilising sir.”

“What?” Hodgkin asked as he moved to the window and looked out to the gate.

He watched as the wormhole collapsed and the gate deactivated but that didn’t last long. Moments later a massive amount of energy surged over the gate and a new wormhole formed. After that an Ori ship appeared, then another and another and another. They kept coming in an almost unending stream, as each one passed through the event horizon they moved into a holding position near the gate until they had virtually formed a wall of ships.

“Lieutenant?”

“I’m picking up 150 ships sir, and more are coming.”

The colonel looked over them, they could barely handle the four that was originally sent. If it wasn’t through extraordinary means they would still have those four but now there was a hell of a lot more. “Set a course for Earth, best speed.” Hodgkin said

“Yes sir.”

Moments later the Odyssey formed a hyperspace window and shot into it. As they left sensor range the monitored 200 ships in parking orbit of the Supergate before they stopped and they lost sensor contact. The sent a message ahead to Earth informing them of the situation and as much as they didn’t want to believe it, there were now enough ships in the galaxy to quash any resistance and spread Origin to the millions of worlds here in less than a year.

Chapter 20

Briefing Room, Stargate Command, Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado, 03:00

Everyone was sitting around the long table with the Sangraal sitting on it right before the general. They had just received a signal from the Odyssey describing the arrival of their enemy.

“250 ships? Are we sure on that?” Carter asked

“The Odyssey made contact with a Jaffa scout ship passing the area after they left. They monitored 50 more ships coming through before the gate shut down.” Landry said

“They must have been building that fleet for ages.” Mitchell said

“Since we first made contact.” Daniel said, “The first four were just the ones they finished but they’ve had a long time to build more on all the planets they control.”

“We could barely handle those four.” Carter said

“We didn’t handle them. We got rid of one in an accident and the other with the combined power of the Dolchoi and Darkal.” Mitchell said

“And now that the Dolchoi is currently holding the future of the Furling race, she’s not exactly wanting to get into a fire fight. Don’t get me wrong, she’ll shoot on anything that fires on her and the Darkal will blast a hole in the moon to protect her.” Liz said

“What about the Nox?” Landry asked

“No, they wont fight but they have agreed to something else.” Max said

“What do you mean?” Landry asked

“Their last ships arrived and are being repaired, apparently each ship is designed to augment their natural abilities so they have decided to strategically position themselves around the solar system and hopefully cause a few distractions for the Ori but they’ve already seen through their illusions once so there’s no guarantee.” Mitchell said

“There never is.” Michael said

“That pretty pessimistic, even for you.” Maria said

“Not pessimism, realism.” Michael said

“And he’s right.” Mitchell said

“General O’Neil has also contacted the Asgard. They’re sending in 30 ships. They don’t have much more available, the war with the Replicators may be over but it’s still left it’s mark on them. They’re rebuilding as much as possible but they do owe us quite a bit.” Carter said

“So they’re more than happy to lend a hand.” Landry said, “Max, what about your people?”

“Larek said he’d bring in as many ships as he could. The attack on Antar has left the rest of the empire rattled, concerned about another incident. They’ve never seen that kind of power before and the fact that it was Kivar that did it…” Max said

“How are things there?” Carter asked

“They’re scared. They know the potential power they posses, the power that we’ve got now but we need to teach it to them. Without that knowledge, the Ori could use their followers to wipe them out like they did with Antar.” Michael said

“Kivar’s new powers…they are impressive.” Tess said, “If he had them years ago, we would be here. His coup would have been complete.”

“Antar can sent a number of ships but we can say that they don’t compare to Ancient or Ori technology. Not without a lot of work.” Max said

“Something that we don’t have the time for.” Isabel said, “What about your side of this?”

“We’ve got the Odyssey and the Theseus are in orbit. The Daedalus is pushing her hyperdrive engines at 113% to get here in time. They may burn out once they get here but they won’t need them once the fight begins.” Landry said, “We’ve got two ships under construction in Nevada, they’re at 90%. They’ll fly, they’ve got weapons and shields but it wont be pretty. Because of that we’ll man them with skeleton crews. The other ships will keep a lock on them and beam them out if their shields collapse.”

“That’s not a lot general. What about whatever Merlin left on Mars?”

“We’ve tried activating the systems but we can’t. Not without the software from Atlantis being directly interfaced.” Landry said, “But we do have the Antarctic Outpost powered up. If the Ori fleet enter orbit we’ll get them.”

“Assuming that they get close enough and the Ancient Drones can penetrate their shields.” Mitchell said

“Oh they will. It’ll just take several dozen impacts before the shields breach.” Max said

“So at best guess the odd of our survival is 50/50?” Alex said

“That’s about it.” Landry said, “I guess we should activate this then.” He said as he held the Sangraal in his hand

“If nothing else we will wipe out the Ori. If we don’t survive then without their gods sooner or later their followers will realise that they weren’t gods.” Mitchell said

“We can but hope.” Daniel said

“I take it you do know how to turn this thing on? I don’t exactly see an on switch.” Landry asked

“Oh we know.” Max said, “We just need to go home to do it.”

“Antar?” Mitchell asked

“No, Roswell.” Isabel said

Queen’s Chamber, Wraith Hive Ship, 03:20

The queen of the lead Hive sat in her chair at the head of the chamber as the Prior came in. As before his staff was glowing and sating the ravenous hunger the Wraith constantly felt, it certainly helped keep them a little more tame.

“You have served the Ori well.” The Prior said

“We have done as you have asked. Your people can do as they planned.”

“Indeed, our forces have already traversed into the galaxy of the blasphemers.” The Prior said, “And now your reward. For those who do not bow to the eternal wisdom of the Ori shall feel the burn of the fire. Those who denounce the Ori on Earth must be made to realise the depth of their mistake.”

The Prior extended his staff out and it glowed. The Ship’s systems were all beginning to change as the organic systems enhanced and upgraded. The light of the staff then spread to all the other ships in the armada and the same happened aboard them.

“Now, it begins.” The queen said, “The coordinates?”

“Here.” The prior said as he waved his hand over a screen and the course toward Earth entered into the system. “You will go to Earth, let them be the last humans you feed upon before the blessings of the Ori cure you of your unending hunger.”

“Oh, I think not.” The Queen said, “This new galaxy is teaming with life that will sustain my people for an eternity.”

“The Ori have spoken. Earth will be your only target.” The Prior said angrily

“You have no more power than the Ancients, and once long ago we bested them.” The queen said as her chamber suddenly filled with Wraith.

The blue skinned creatures leaped forward as the Prior raised his staff in defence. One Wraith grabbed it and was immediately engulfed with flames but another kicked it with such force that the Prior lost his grip on it. The staff landed and went sliding across the floor, the Prior stretched out his hand to call it back into his hand but the other Wraith grabbed him. They tried to feed upon him but their hands couldn’t penetrate his protective shield.

The Wraith grabbed onto him, binding his hands with a bear hug that made it impossible for him to move. The Queen herself came down from the chair and tried to feed, gripping a few inches from his body. Not even she could get through the invisible barrier that protected the Wraith but through the combined mental abilities of the crew they were able to interfere with his own powers.

“The Ori will reign fire upon you for this affront to their greatness.”

“I think not Prior.” The queen said, “But we do thank you. If not for you and the Ori we may never have found our new feeding ground.”

“The armies of the Ori will lay waste to your ships the moment you arrive.”

The queen smiled, “That is what the Ancients once thought. But if we cannot feed upon you then you are of little use to us…and certainly too dangerous to keep around.” She signalled to one of her Wraith and he activated the ships transport systems.

A ripple of energy moved over the Prior and encoded him into its systems before he was re-materialised outside the ship in the vacuum of space. So close to a black hole, the gravity pulled the Prior toward the singularity. The forces acting on him, not even his shield could protect him.

The Queen watched him float away on his screen and smiled before turning to her Wraith, “Contact the others, set a course for Earth. Let us see what the power of these Ori have done to our ship.” In seconds the ships of the Wraith opened a hyperspace window, they shot off and headed toward their new feeding ground.

Infirmary, Atlantis, Pegasus Galaxy, Same Time

Shepherd was sitting on one of the beds, getting a light beamed into his eye from Dr Beckett’s little torch. He’d come to see the city’s chief medical officer after getting some headaches.

“Well?” John asked

“Well…you’ve got a headache. The scanner didn’t pick up anything wrong and everything seems normal.” Carson said

“Doc, I’ve had headaches. This is…”

“Colonel, you flew an Ancient ship by sitting in a control chair and used nothing but that brain of yours. You’re not an Ancient, doing something that complex must be really taxing.” Carson said

“It did take a bit of concentration, a lot more than a Puddle Jumper but then they do have manual controls.” John said as Teyla came in, “Hey Teyla.”

“John…are you okay?” Teyla asked

“Oh he’ll be fine.” Carson said as he opened one of the medicine cabinets and pulled out a strip of pills. “Take two of these ever 6 hours for the next two days. Do not exceed the dose.”

“Yes Doctor.” John said, “So Teyla, what’s up?”

“Major Lorne has just returned from Hadarus.” Teyla said

“Hadarus?” Carson asked

“The third location on our list of city locations.” John said

“He reported that the city there is powered up and is cloaked to hide it from the Wraith. There was a Hive closing in on that star system.” Teyla said

“Why do I have the feeling there’s a but in there somewhere?” John asked

“None of the people with the gene in his team could get the city to fly. It appears that so far you are the only one to be able to do it.” Teyla said

“You always were able to use the Ancient Technology naturally.” Carson said

“Still, if I’ve got to bring all ships here…my head is going to pop like a balloon.” John said

“There is one more thing.” Teyla said, “Just in case the Wraith drew closer to the planet, Major Lorne hide all the people in the city. After the Wraith passed the planet, Lorne brought the people back here.”

“What? How many?” John asked

“Roughly 33000.” Teyla said, “They suffered a culling 15 months ago and their population was decimated. The survivors have been trying to stay alive without much success. The only reason the Wraith left the last time was because the remaining population was so scattered it wasn’t worth the effort to spread out after them.”

“Well if they’re here I guess I better go get over to them and check them out.” Carson said

“She’s arranged for quarters in Mara’s city for them all but there are these new cullings happening everywhere. Our off world teams have already been approached by many locations to relocate their population to here. They all know we live in Ancestral City and that it’s their best hope to live.” Teyla said

“And Elizabeth thought she had a hard time being governor of a couple hundred scientists.” John said

“Everyone is coming here. Do we have space?” Carson asked

“With Mara’s segment of the city added we can hold over 10 million people. I don’t think there’s that many in the entire galaxy.” John said, “Okay there’s probably more but there are dozens of other ships out there.”

“I just hope that we don’t end up with Wraith spies in our mix. We know that some people work for the Wraith, even worship them, but there really is no way to screen them out.” Carson said

“Colonel Shepherd, please report to the Control Room.” Came a voice over the intercom

John sighed, “What now. Okay doc, are we done?”

“We’re done. Just don’t go flying anymore ships for a while.” Carson said

“Yes Doctor.” John said and turned to Teyla, “Care to join me.”

“I think I will.” Teyla said and both walked out of the room.

Control Room, Central Tower…

“What’s going on?” John asked as he came running up the stairs and into the control room.

“We’ve picked up the Wraith armada. They’ve left the black hole.” Radek said

“Are they heading here?” Teyla asked

“No.” McKay said, “According to this data they are on a course straight for Earth.”

“They know its location? How?” John asked

“I have no idea.” McKay said, “But the thing of it is…they are moving faster than any Hive we’ve ever seen. They’re certainly more than capable of crossing galaxies.”

“We’ve dialled Earth and warned them.” Dr Weir said, “They’ve also told us that an Ori fleet consisting of 250 ships have just arrived in the Milky Way.”

“Everything’s going to hell. We need to act fast.” John said, “There’s nothing we can do about the Ori but at the very least we can try to keep the Wraith out of the picture.”

“How?” Weir said

“What about the Daedalus?” John asked

“Heading back to Earth to help with the Ori. There is no way they can get back here in time for catch them.” Weir said

“There is one way to catch up to them.” Chaya said as she came in

“There is?” McKay asked

“Atlantis is much faster than those Wraith ships.” Chaya said

“You are kidding…right?” McKay asked

“No.” Chaya said, “How many of the cities have you managed to power up?”

“We’ve got teams sent to all the planets on the list. They should have the power crystals installed within the next 20 minutes and the Antarians reported to the SGC that Larek inserted a crystal into the city on Antar.” Weir said

“You should dial all those planets get tell your teams to fill those cities with as many people as possible.” Chaya said

“Chaya, what are you planning?” John asked

Without a word, Chaya moved from the control room and sat on the chair at the top of the stairs. Instantly the chair activated and lit up as holograms formed in the space between the gate and the stairs. Each one was of city functions from the smallest corner to the most intricate and unbelievable pieces of technology in Atlantis. The images changed again and again, obviously Chaya was doing something but as the scientists in residence of the city approached not one could make heads or tails of it all.

“Uh Chaya?” Teyla asked

“I’m preparing the city.” Chaya said

“Dial the first address, I want all the teams we have out there to do what she said.” Weir said

“Yes Ma’am.” The technician said

“Until then, I guess all we can do is wait.” John said

“Not quite.” Weir said, “John, I want you to get every fighter pilot in this city into the shielded Puddle Jumpers, up until Chaya finishes I want them ready for whatever comes.”

“Right.” John said as he activated the intercom, “Alpha Squadron, report to the Jumper Bay at once.”

“Is it me or does anyone else have a bad feeling?” Rodney asked

Everyone raised a hand.

Granolith Chamber, Roswell, New Mexico, 05:00

Everyone walked in through the pod frame and into the room that housed the Granolith. Instantly Michael, Isabel and Tess moved to the Granolith at different sides. Each glided their fingers over the black surface as they entered commands into it.

“So…how does this work?” Mitchell asked

“The Sangraal is nothing more than an energy transfer device.” Max said as he held it in his hand

“Energy that can kill anything Ascended?” Vala said

“Right. It can flood the Ascended planes with the energy and wipe out the Ori. The problem is that it will also wipe out the Ancients as well.” Max said

“The Granolith wasn’t only designed to channel power from other universes. It can modulate any form of energy into a specific frequency.” Isabel said

“So that you can target a specific group of Ascended?” Carter asked, “But that would mean that the Ori and Ancients are different from each other…other than philosophically.”

“Well the Ancients I’ve scene are all glowy white. The Ori look like fire.” Daniel said

“Their consciousness literally shapes how they appear and for the Ori that is fire. It gives them a very distinctly different frequency than that of the Ancients.” Tess said as she entered her last command, “Yeah, Max, I think we’re ready.”

“Do you think we should tell our parent’s we’re home?” Liz asked, “I know they’d worry but hell is about to come around the corner.”

“I’ve thought about it but if they knew what we did…the only way we’d be able to get out of our rooms is if we got beamed out.” Max said

“Hm, no doubt.” Maria said

“Still…let’s do this.” Max said as he waved his hand over the Granolith and an opening formed. Max put the Sangraal at the opening and it was pulled inside. Instantly the opening sealed over and the Granolith changed from black to red in mere seconds. The red then spread, covering all the walls until everything was glowing. “It’s ready.”

“The second someone presses right there, a wave of energy will push into subspace. Once there it will flash over the entire universe in less time than it took to press the button. The Ori will be effected immediately.” Isabel said

“And I thought I had trouble keeping up with the Furling knowledge.” Mitchell said

“Yeah, try being us.” Maria said

“Hell you’ve got a better chance of understanding it than we do.” Mitchell said

“Oh Furling knowledge is advanced but not even that comes close to what the Ancients knew.” Liz said, “There is just one thing. Whoever presses that button will be effectively wiping out an entire race.”

“Genocide.” Carter said

“The Ori haven’t given us much choice. So long as they exist their people are just going to keep coming here and trying to wipe us out or convert us.” Daniel said, “I don’t like it but…”

“Well they didn’t put me in charge of SG-1 so I could shy away from the big decisions.” Mitchell said, “This is my call.”

“Are you sure? This wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for us.” Max said

“King or not Max, you’re still a teenager. Nobody should have to have this on their conscious at your age.” Mitchell said as he put his hand on the Granolith. Everyone heard a hum start, a hum that was growing in intensity before it suddenly stopped and everything returned to normal.

“That was it?” Kyle asked, “That was weak.”

“Did it work?” Maria asked

“Well it fired, whether or not it worked…” Max said

Celestis: City of the Gods, Ori Home Galaxy, Immediately Following

The Doci, high priest of the Ori, knelt in Prostration before the symbol of the Ori that adorned his chambers. By his side were the gates, just beyond which blazed the fires of enlightenment. Those flames were the physical embodiment of the Ori, it was through them that they turned an ordinary human into a Prior and at will could possess the Doci to speak through him.

All of a sudden the flames started to burn bright red, the emitted a glow and the Doci opened his eyes before clutching his head in pain. He heard screams from throughout the great city but it wasn’t only from the Priors. The Doci turned to look at the flames and saw their fury was lessened. The fire was dying down and as he moved through the gates he saw the great black void deep below him was increasing. The energy of the Ori tried reaching out to him, to possess him before they were gone.

It wasn’t nearly enough. The power of the Sangraal spread over their galaxy and was cancelling out the Ori one after the other so quickly that all those connected to the Ori were feeling their pain. After a mere moment, the Fires were out and all Priors felt different. There was an emptiness in them that they couldn’t explain, they hadn’t felt it since before they had become Priors. All over the galaxy, Priors tried to activate their staffs and failed. They tried utilising their Ori given powers and failed. The Doci fell to his knees before the chasm where the Ori dwelled and prayed but there was nothing.

The Ori were gone.

Command Deck, Ori Flagship, Orbiting the Supergate…

In this galaxy the fleet of the Ori stayed by the gate. They knew there were ships nearby monitoring them and felt the longer they stayed there and allow all space-fairing races to see their number of ships would spread fear. However it was there turn for fear as the soldiers of the Ori each watched their Priors and Adria suddenly clutch at their heads and stumble. Tomin stood next to Adria and caught her before she fell to her knees like the Prior near by.

“Orici?” Tomin asked as he helped her back up.

Her eyes glowed with yellow flame for a moment, her powers were with her since birth and unlike the Priors they weren’t artificially imposed on them. She looked to the Prior and could just see the presence of the Ori leave him. “They found it.” Adria said and then turned to Tomin and the other worried soldiers. “The darkness has struck at us. They have discovered a weapon constructed by the demons of this galaxy who’ve shielded them from the light of the Ori. The Ori have been harmed but their light still walks with us.” She sat in the control chair and all the ships engines powered up.

“Orici, what is your will?” The Prior asked, he knew his powers were gone but assumed that the Ori had taken back what they had given as punishment for not finding the weapon first.

“We will attack Earth. We will destroy that weapon and allow the Ori to be reborn.” Adria said, “There must be no hope for their survival, all ships must engage in this battle and decimate their world for this heresy. We must not stop in our crusade to bring Origin to this galaxy. Hallowed are the Ori.”

“Hallowed are the Ori.” All followers in the room said in reverence

Gate Room, Atlantis, Pegasus Galaxy, 05:30

Chaya had continued her work but as the sun peaked over the Lantean horizon the holograms stopped and the shield formed around the city. A new hologram formed, a map of the galaxy with each other city clearly marked but quickly their lights changed colour from red dots to blue as she brought them all online. Suddenly there was a flash of light and the Stargate suddenly vanished.

“Chaya?” Weir asked with worry.

“You wont need it.” Chaya said

“Dr Weir, we’ve just got a report from one of the security teams. Teyla’s people just appeared at the base of the central tower.” The technician said

“How many?” Teyla asked

“All of them.”

“I’ve transported the gate to the mainland and brought the Athosians into the city.” Chaya said, “They don’t want to be here anymore. Trust me.”

All of a sudden the felt a massive shudder shake the city and as they looked out of the windows they saw that they were lifting out of the ocean. The hologram changed once more as Lantea became marked and a course was plotted leading through Pegasus toward the Milky Way. What no one knew in the city was that Chaya reconfigured the cities systems and channelled a great deal of power into the all the Stargates on the planets that had city ships. Through the link between Atlantis and other cities that Max had opened up, Chaya activated gates all over the galaxy and used the transportation technology at her disposal to sweep massive amounts of people away from their homes and bring them into the ships.

By the time Atlantis left the Lantean atmosphere there were millions of people from thousands of habited worlds now in the shielded locations of the many fragments of Atlantis. The residents of the city could do nothing as their home for the last 3 years drifted among the stars. The shield protected them, while the city could be sealed the bubble also contained atmosphere that could let them walk outside. In moments the star drive became fully powered and opened a window into hyperspace, which it entered.

“Chaya, can you handle this?” John asked

“Yes, all my people were once taught to do this in case it was ever needed.” She said as the navigational data flowed through her mind. “We need to catch the Wraith, and get the city back to Earth to help with the Ori.”

“Does this city have enough power to stop them?” Weir asked

“Once it’s all connected, Atlantis would be an equal match for their numbers.” Chaya said

“Then how can we stop them?” Ronan asked

“Because Myrrdin planned to defeat the Ori, he left something for them in your own solar system. John, I’ll need you for that as well as anyone else with the ability to use the technology of the city.” Chaya said

“Call Jack O’Neill and Cassandra Fraiser to the primary chair room. John, lets see how well they can control it. Rodney, go with them. Make sure they don’t actually do anything just…”

“Just run simulations. I get it.” McKay said

Both men ran out to the nearest transporter room. Dr Weir moved to Chaya, “Chaya, how can we stop the Wraith?”

“Atlantis can generate a disruption in hyperspace. It will force the Wraith into normal space where we can attack them.” Chaya said, “Make sure there are people in the other chair rooms when we get there. They have to fire the second the Wraith drop out of hyperspace.”

“I’ve already arranged it.” Weir said as she looked down to where the Stargate was before going to Teyla and Ronan. “I want you two in charge of security. See how many of the new arrivals to the city are willing to fight, get them armed. I doubt the Wraith can penetrate the shield but I don’t know about the Ori. If we get invaded I want as many people as possible fighting them back.”

“I don’t think we’ve got enough weapons.” Ronan said

“I can help with that.” Chaya said as several wall panels suddenly opened

“These are similar to the hand held weapons John described from the Aurora virtual environment.” Teyla said

“There’s enough for everyone in the city.” Chaya said, “They will render anyone targeted unconscious.”

Weir nodded, “Hand them out to all security personnel and make sure any of the science contingent has some as well. I don’t want them undefended if anyone gets through our defence lines. Major Lorne?”

“Yes ma’am?” Lorne asked

“Until Colonel Shepherd is finished at the chair you are in charge of all military in the city. Identify all key strategic locations and likely sports for attack, make sure they’re all patrolled.” Weir said

“Colonel Shepherd and I have already gone over it, and the Marines are all ready.” Lorne said as he switched on his radio, “The is Lorne, all units initiate plan Delta 6.” And immediately the soldiers all got to work.

Meanwhile Atlantis flew through the galaxy, heading for its rendezvous with the Wraith ships already on route.

Outside the Cabin, Willoughby, Sunrise

Max and Logan crawled on their bellies through the brush of the woodland to a small mound of earth. From there they could see the cabin, nestled in the forest all alone and without any obvious security. They looked over the entire area but couldn’t see any sign of life.

“Well there it is.” Max said

“It certainly doesn’t look like much does it?” Logan said

“Well if the Daedalus’ scans are accurate then there’s a big structure under there.” Max said

“Good, I hate fighting in cramped quarters.” Alec said from behind them

Both sharply turned around to see Alec staying down low with several other Transgenics. “What are you doing here?” Max asked

“Watching your six.” Alec said as he moved up and looked to the cabin, “Nice…quaint, a little too rustic for me though.”

“Alec?” Logan asked

“Ellie would bust my balls if I didn’t help.” Alec said, “Actually she almost did when I told her she wasn’t coming.”

“Did I mention how much I like that girl?” Max asked

“Haha, very funny.” Alec said. Soon the ground started shaking behind them and Mole came digging out before he shook himself off.

“Someone got my cigar?” Mole asked

“Mole? What the hell?” Logan asked

“I asked him to check out how it is underground.” Alec said

“The walls are solid all the way around. Whoever built it knew what they were doing.” Mole said, “Now where’s my cigar?”

“Here.” Alec said as he tossed one over to Mole

“Hey careful, this is a 2015 Cuban. I only got 6 left.” Mole said

“You brought cigars back with you?” Max asked

“Are you kidding, there’s nothing better than a 2015. Anyway, I checked near the surface. No minefields or trips wires…at least that I could pick up on.” Mole said

“It’s completely undefended?” Logan asked, “I’m surprised.”

“Given who’s down there, yeah. That’s odd.” Max said

“Maybe they don’t care who gets to the cabin, getting to what’s beneath it is the hard part. Inside the cabin is where the defences would be.” Max said

“That’s a comforting thought.” Alec said

“You know, I really want to break Sandeman’s neck.” Max said

“Yeah. Get in line.” Logan said, “Dear old dad crossed the line when he made me the way he did but he had the chance to take him out and didn’t.”

“He left it to you? Why?” Alec asked

“To put me in charge of the Familiars to unite our two little subgroups of humanity.” Logan said

“You’re kidding right? Don’t get me wrong, you and Max…fine. Every one of us knows how far he’s gone to help us.” Alec said, “But those bastards wiped out our town, our home.”

“That was Phalanx and I’m sure I’ll be able to identify who they are and where I can find them.” Logan said

“Yeah just make sure you tell me.” Alec said

“Okay…the cabin. How do you want to do this Max?” Mole asked

“Logan and I are going in through the front door.” Max said

“Ballsy, stupid. I like it.” Alec said

“Yeah well you guys are going to surround the place, if anyone comes out you take them down. And by that I mean they get kept alive, just put them to sleep for a while.” Max said

“Okay.”

“Wait, it would be too risky for them to hide their leader in there with one way in and out. There has to be another way for that guy to get out in case of an attack.” Logan said

“You didn’t see anything Mole?” Max asked

“No, except…there’s a sewer line, it’s nearby. Close enough to have a short tunnel into it.” Mole said

“Alec, take two guys and find a manhole cover. There must be one nearby for them to get out.” Max said

“I think I know where to look.” Alec said, “You three come with me.”

Soon the four of them headed off back down the trail they had created to get there. Alec’s group had passed Willoughby’s sewer treatment plant on the way in and it was a safe bet that they could get access through there and be back in the target area in less time that it took them to cut through the forest, assuming they could ignore the smell.

“Okay Logan, let’s do this.” Max said

“I really hate the fact that I’m holding a gun.” Logan said

“Ah, you’ll get used to it.” Mole said

“I hope not. If we ever get a new home I am really not have any guns left around…aside from the usual defence stuff because you just know someone somewhere is going to try something just because we’re a little bit different.” Logan said

“Well we’ll take care of that problem tomorrow. Let’s deal with today’s.” Max said as she sneaked off with the other’s following. They kept to the cover and then headed into the cabin itself to deal with the problem.

Control Room, Stargate Command…

“Report.” Landry said as he came down into the room

“Sir, we’ve just detected the Ori armada. They’ve left the Supergate.” Harriman said

“Where are they headed?”

“Here sir. At their current rate of speed they’ll be in Earth space in a few hours.”

“All of them?” Landry asked

“Yes sir. 250 signals are being picked up.”

“Well, we were expecting it. SG-1 confirmed they fired the weapon, and now that army is coming here.” Landry said

“Retaliation?”

“They were coming for us sooner or later, I guess this made them decide to come now. Open a channel to our ships.”

“Open sir.”

“The is General Hank Landry. We’ve just detected the Ori fleet approaching Earth. Many of you were on board the Prometheus when Anubis attacked with his fleet, the number of ships we are facing and the technology involved are far superior but I have no doubt that with your dedication we will prevail. SG-1 have fired the Sangraal and we can only assume that it has worked as it was intended, we have struck at the Ori directly. Now their followers, and the Orici Adria are prepared to strike back. Remember your training, do your duty and this planet will survive. All ships, assume defensive positions.”

“The Odyssey and the Theseus are taking up position. And the Daedalus has just dropped out of Hyperspace. The Furling ships are moving out from the dark side of the moon and joining them. All Nox vessels are reporting acceptable structural integrity and are taking positions around the solar system. They report that those locations should provide effective use of their illusions to throw off the Ori.”

“The Antarians and Asgard?” Landry said

“Nothing yet sir.”

“Call me the second any new ship gets into the system, I’ll be online with the President.”

“Yes sir.” Harriman said and then got a call, “SIR, Mr Woolsey is on the phone. The representatives of the International Oversight Advisory are at the main gate on the way in.”

“Why?”

“He said the want to here sir, if the Ori are attacking they want to be here to watch.”

“They do know that if anything, we’re going to be one of the first targets?”

“Yes sir they do.”

“Well, and here I thought the IOA were nothing but a bunch of complaining blowhards.” Landry said, “Once there inside, lock up the mountain.” As soon as they were NORAD was sealed up in preparation of the attack.

Atlantis…

Atlantis flew through space and eventually came out of hyperspace ahead of the Wraith armada in the massive void between the two galaxies.

“How long?” Weir asked

“Not long.” Chaya said as 6 beams of golden energy shot out from the peak of the central spire and impacted the peaks of the tallest towers on the 6 piers. From there they shot out and connected to form a circle around the city.

“Chaya?” Teyla asked

“Wait for it.” Chaya said as she released the ring of energy. It shot out and disrupted space in the area for over 5 light years in every direction. The shock of it forced the Wraith ships out of hyperspace and the armada stood before Atlantis.

For what seemed like an eternity, neither side did nothing as the crew of Atlantis looked out on the 20 odd ships but really only a few seconds passed.

“John are you in the chair room?” Weir asked over the intercom

“I just arrived.” Shepherd said as he sat down

“Jack?” Weir asked

“I’m in the Chair room of Mara’s city.”

“Jumper Bay this is Weir, prepare to launch.”

“Dr Weir, Wraith ships are launching darts. I’m picking up thousands of them.” The technician said, “Enemy weapon systems are coming online.”

“Alpha Squadron, Launch. All Control Chairs prepare to fire drones.” Weir ordered

In moments 12 of the jumpers, the ones that were now equipped to generate shields, flew out of the bay and headed to meet the Wraith. Atlantis’s weapons powered up and their shield was fully powered. Once long ago the Wraith drove the Ancients from Atlantis and the Pegasus Galaxy, despite their great power they were simply out numbered…dramatically out numbered. Now those numbers were once more prepared to attack the city of Atlantis.

Ori Flagship…

Adria smiled, she lost her connection to the Ori. She could no longer feel those that sired her through Vala but that didn’t dampen her mood as she watched the image of Earth’s Solar System grow larger on her screen.

“With guiding fire the blessed ones did step into the darkness to face the night. And did the darkness fight back but to no avail for the Ori did guide with glorious might. For the world that leads the blasphemy shall be brought to utter desolation but from the ashes the armies of the Ori will spread forth to bring illumination. The hatred of those who stray from the true path festered and bloomed in the dark corners of the avarices to which they were cast. Consumed by this hatred they poisoned all they touched, bringing death, darkness and despair and the souls of their victims knew no peace until the Ori came and whispered to them ‘Sleep for the end draws near’.” She quoted the book of Origin to all in the fleet.

“Hallowed are the Ori.” The Prior said

“HALLOWED ARE THE ORI.” The soldiers said as they closed in.

Chapter 21

Just passed Jupiter…

The time had come, this was where they were going to make their stand. Onboard the Earth ships the apprehension could be cut with a knife as the crews went about their duties. They knew what they were about to face and knew that even if they had an equal number of ships, which they certainly didn’t, their odd weren’t good. The first battle with the Ori had the combined forces of Jaffa, Earth, the Lucian Alliance and a single Asgard ship against four vessels. While their resources were vastly improved since one year ago, the simple fact that they were facing 250 enemy ships was a daunting prospect at best.

The Nox were ready, while they wouldn’t fire their combined mental energies should prove to be an interesting diversion. The lead Earth ship was the Odyssey and it was standing point with the Theseus and Daedalus flanking its sides with the Darkal and Dolchoi flanking them. They had been building their power for sometime and were prepared to utilise their weapons. Sara stayed with the Dolchoi but she insisted that Dean relocate to the Darkal, she knew that in this battle, should something happen then neither ship should be alone.

“How long?” Colonel Simon Robinson said

“Any time now sir.” His XO said as she looked at the screen, “Sir, picking up a massive hyperspace window forming.” Out side they watched as a few dozen ships emerged and took up positions around the system. “It’s the Asgard, Colonel. I’m picking up 30 O’Neill class advanced destroyers. They’re hailing sir.”

“This is Thor, Supreme Commander of the Asgard Fleet.”

“Welcome Supreme Commander, this is Colonel Robinson.”

“On behalf of the Asgard High Council, we pledge our forces to the defence of Earth.” Thor said

“Thank you Thor, hopefully this wont be needed.” Robinson said

“Regrettably it is.” Thor said, “Standby.”

Then it happened. The void of space before the ships was filled with the distortion of an even bigger hyperspace window than the one the Asgard just generated. All of a sudden the Ori fleet dropped back into normal space and came to a stop. It was a wall of ships and each one now had its defences up and weapons armed.

“Status?” Robinson asked

“The second the window formed the Nox began shielding us. They don’t know we’re here. I hope.”

“Theseus and Daedalus.” Robinson said

“Online Colonel.” The Theseus commander said

“This is Caldwell, we’re ready.”

“The Furling ships and the Asgard have the best hope of penetrating their shields. The best we can do is provide a target to get their weapons off of them.” Robinson said

“Agreed.” Caldwell said

“All ships, break and attack.” Robinson ordered

The three Earth ships moved forward, unseen to the fleet. With Adria the only one keeping the fleet flying without the Priors having their abilities her mind was a little spread out. As soon as they were close they flew over the lead ship and avoided a direct line of their devastating primary weapon. They pelted its shield with their weapons before transporting several nuclear weapons out in between the shield bubbles of the ships. Moments later they exploded.

Midway Between the Pegasus & Milky Way Galaxies…

Hell wasn’t breaking loose only in Earth’s solar system. With the Pegasus Galaxy prominent behind then and the Milky Way before them in the void, Atlantis floated with dozens of Hive Ships. 2 years ago the thought of three ships, then another 12, baring down on them caused concern enough to evacuate and destroy the city, fortunately that didn’t happen thanks to a little quick deception. Now the city existed with a shield that had a constant unending flow of power. It could be penetrated, enough shots in one spot could weaken the bubble enough for blasts to penetrate it before the power levels could compensate.

Thousands of darts flew out of the Hives and immediately started firing all over the large city. Beneath the bubble, the people of Atlantis looked out of their windows to see the shield come alive with a million shades of colour. Soon the Wraith Hives flew into position surrounding the city and all opened fire. From the Jumper Bay on the central tower, a small number of Jumpers flew out and insistently started to fire their drones on the Darts. It didn’t take long for the swarms of darts to turn their attention to the incoming squadron. Needless to say they were surprised when their weapons impacted shields, something that they never encountered on the small ships.

It bought a significant amount of time for the squad to fly through the Darts and launch drone after drone causing a tunnel of explosions that they flew through toward one of the hives. They fired a series of drones that impacted the down the length of the ship but it would take a lot more than the few drones they were hit with to take down a hive and there were many more waiting to be hit. However, it wasn’t just darts that the Hives had at their disposal. Each had three Cruisers docked to its underbelly that were now breaking free and beginning their own attack.

“Status?” Weir asked

“Shields are holding.” McKay said, “But I don’t know how much the grid can take before it has to reset.”

“John, fire the drones.” Weir said

“Firing now.” John said and the three hatches apiece on their Atlantis and Mara’s opened to release a barrage of drones that spread out among the fleet that impacted.

The explosions they caused were devastating but by no means were they bad enough to cause complete destruction but afterwards the Wraith all moved into different positions.

“What are they doing?” Weir asked

“It’s an old strategy.” Chaya said, “Their going to swarm their Darts to impact an area of the shield before they launch a full attack with their weapons to penetrate the shield.”

“Can they?” Weir asked

“With the Granolith powering the city, I don’t know.” Chaya said, “Either way…John. You should have access to the other weapons.”

“I know. Powering up now.” John said

“Powering up what?” Weir asked

“Those energy conduits that came online when we installed the crystal. They’re building up a charge in them.” McKay said

“There’s something emerging on the outside of the city were they conduits connect.” Radek said, “Weapons ports.”

Outside the city, short range beams of energy fired out from multiple locations all over the structure. They exited the shield with little problem and targets each fighter and cruiser that came into range of them. Over and over they kept firing, exploding darts and cutting into the cruisers, the Hives made sure they stayed out of range and continued firing. Several of the beams impacted the other city buildings but just bounced off and kept bouncing off them until they hit an enemy ship.

“Rodney, what is that?” Weir asked

“The energy pattern matches that of the Ancient weapon platform we discovered but the beams are a lot weaker.” Rodney said

“They seem to bounce off the walls?” Teyla asked

“We did wonder why the city was made out of a fragile material like it was, now we know. Their weapons just keep bouncing until they hit something without causing damage to the city itself.” Radek said

“There’s too many of them.” Chaya said

“What?” Weir asked

“They’re focusing their weapons, and they are increased. The Prior they were dealing with must have upgraded them as well as their engines.” John said, “We need help.”

Familiar Cabin, Willoughby…

With Alec and his squad crawling through the sewers, a fact that he planned on taking up with Max later after he showered, the remaining Transgenics led by Max and Logan stealthily approached the cabin. Both groups were moving as cautiously as possible but soon they reached the door and opened it.

“Nice. Homey.” Logan said

“Yeah, maybe Alec should set up house here with Ellie.” Max said, “Any idea how to find this shrine place?”

“Sandeman said to…” Logan said as he flipped the switch behind the fireplace.

Instantly the centre of the floor lowered and dropped down into the bedrock beneath the forest. The team of Transgenics held on to their stomachs at the velocity of their descent and even more so when it came to an abrupt stop. They moved out and found themselves in the temple that houses the Familiar leader’s sarcophagus, at least what was left of it. It’s burnt out remains still littered the floor of the temple but as the Transgenics moved into the room they became increasingly aware of one thing, it was awfully empty.

“Where is everyone?” Logan asked

“Given what this place was I kinda expected a big welcoming committee ready to kick ass.” Max said

Slowly they moved through the great underground chamber, each ready to fight and not letting their guard down for at least an instant. If anything, their Manticore upbringing had its advantages for situations like this. Slowly the looked over everything and got onto the main floor where the sarcophagus rested.

“I really don’t like this.” Max said

“Nor should you.” A voice boomed as several wall panel opened to reveal hidden compartments from where several Familiars lay waiting.

Each one moved quicker than lightening as they moved out and grabbed the Transgenics, the Transgenic’s agility made them try to moved out of the way but these Familiars seemed faster than any ones they had seen before. The only ones who were left free were Max and Logan but couldn’t react fast enough as Ahriman came out of another opening. “So this is Sandeman’s offspring, and my heir. And the Transgenic. Hmm, yes, Sandeman does good work.”

“I’m not a piece of meat.” Max said

“Perhaps not, but should I not at least ensure the attractiveness of the barer of the next generation of my children. Yes, you will do nicely to be their mother.” Ahriman said

“Sorry but she’s spoken for.” Logan said

“Ah but you’re about to die Mr Cale. Sandeman’s betrayal cannot go unanswered and you…are simply not necessary.” Ahriman said, “Tell me, how do you like my new soldiers. After generations of trying we were finally successful in melding our warrior and mental breeding lines. Show them.” He ordered

Each Familiar released their prisoners and stared at the Transgenics. Each one suddenly felt pain in their heads before they fell to their knees. Just then blood started to drip from their noses. “Stop.” Max said

Ahirman held up his hand and the Familiars released them. Each one fell to the floor, “They live but not for long. This is only a temporary reprieve. You see we have done our homework on you Max. You are Sandeman’s goal, you we have uses for the rest of your race…well, once upon a time I enjoyed a good hunt and animals to be hunted they are. Come forward.” He ordered her

Max’s eyes suddenly became blank as she stepped forward. “Max?” Logan said, “MAX?”

Just then Max blinked and stepped back. “How did you do that? How did you break her from me?” Ahriman asked

“I guess that’s something you wont understand.” Logan said

“Get on your knees.” Ahriman said, focusing his own mental abilities into Logan

“Uh, no.” Logan said, not feeling a thing

“How is this possible? What did Sandeman do to you?” Ahriman said

“Good question.” Max said

“Kill their associates.” Ahriman said

“No.” Max said as she leapt up, planting her foot on a sidewall and springing off it before aiming her foot at the head of one of the Familiars. Her movement was graceful and precise like it was rehearsed a thousand times but as she tried to do it with another she found herself floating in midair with one of the Familiars staring at her intently, her foot was an inch from connecting to her target.

Just Past Jupiter…

“Any sign of damage?” Caldwell asked

“Negative sir, their shields absorbed all the energy…wait…sir, I’m picked up more hyperspace windows.”

“This is Larek of Antar, sorry we’re late.” Larek said over the communication lines

“Better late than never Larek.” Robinson said

The Antarians came into the battle. Their weapons fired as they flew through the rear of the Ori fleet and came around to line up with the defensive forces of Earth. The Ori fleet started to move and fire. Their weapons pulsed through space until connecting with the ships. The Asgard broke their positions and stood before the blasts, absorbing them. The Dolchoi and the Darkal both opened fire but the Ori launched fighters, hundreds a piece. It was like a thousand bees swarming and stinging. 2 Antarian ships and 1 Asgard were destroyed in a matter of minutes as minor explosions wracked through various other ships.

“Damage report?” Caldwell called out

“Hyperspace generator offline, rail-guns 2 through 5 are damaged.”

“Colonel.” Mitchell said as he came onto the bridge

“Mitchell, what are you doing here?”

“Beamed on board with Teal’c before the fun started. Carter is on the Odyssey with Daniel and Vala. I take it things aren’t going well?”

“No.” Caldwell said

Over and over the small fleet fired on the Ori to have five ships firing back. Many Ori ships held back, not needing to fire just yet but it was becoming increasingly obvious that the ships present weren’t going to be as effective as hoped. No matter how good their tactics were, unless they came up with something new they were going to end up as lumps floating between Mars and Jupiter. All ships just kept firing, targeting what they could.

The Darkal’s weapons fired directly after his mate’s fired. One after the other they fired their weapons and covered each other while they recharged. Two blasts weakened the shields of one ship while another shots collapsed them entirely before slicing the ship in half. The Asgard taskforce split up into pairs, one leading a head on charge firing its weapons at full power while its shields were at nothing, they were reinforced by its partner who had it’s weapons on minimal. Those final shots weakened the shields long enough for one of the Antarian or Earth ships to beam a bomb near to the ship’s hull. Beaming them inside always seamed to be ineffectual, maybe the Priors disarmed it with their powers or they had technology onboard to prevent detonation but on the outside of the hull a massive detonation could put a hole in it.

Adria watched it all as 3 then a fourth ships was destroyed. “That is enough.” She said with spite. All of a sudden 40 of the Ori ships opened fire and vaporised 7 vessels that were close together including the Theseus. All the Ori then moved in and opened fire causing massive amounts of damage.

“Okay, now we’re really getting our asses kicked.” Mitchell said

Midway Between the Pegasus and Milky Way Galaxies…

“We need help.” John said

“Agreed. And here it comes.” Chaya said

All around the region hyperspace windows formed as 30+ Atlantis style ships dropped into normal space. Most arrived from Pegasus but one was the Antarian city that Larek had powered up a short time ago. From her chair, Chaya controlled the full lot and launched an army of drones that destroyed the vessel’s engines. Each were left floating in space but by no means were they helpless. They were still firing and able to use their thrusters to move slightly. As they passed through the perimeter of Hives, their short-range energy cannons fired upon the ships as they moved closer to the main section of Atlantis.

Upon getting in range the cities shields opened to each other, recognising each other and allowing access. As before each moved into position, connecting one to another around Atlantis with walkways extending as the piers locked. With the Lantean Atlantis in the heart of it all the great structure that carried the Ancients returned to its original splendour.

On the main Hive the Queen of the Alliance looked at it, “What is this?”

“Unknown. We’ve never seen anything like it.”

“Energy levels?” the queen asked

“Beyond anything we’ve recorded of the Ancients.”

“All weapons…fire.”

In that moment all remaining Darts were launched and their rate of fire increased until each ship left an impact that shook the city. Even so, the energy never got in passed the combined strength of all those shield generators.

“John, if you’ve got anything left to fire…?” Weir asked

“I do. Hang on.” John said over the intercom, “All Jumpers, return to the city at once.” He ordered and they all flew back into the shield and landed in the jumper bay.

Right then all the short-range weapons fired horizontally toward the top nearby towers on all of the piers where the cities now joined. Once there it was like a collector was taking all that energy in, building it up and once it was complete they fired back to the central towers of each section. At that moment they shot back to *the* central tower of Atlantis. As everyone watched on, Atlantis sent a beam of its collective raw power out that swept through a quarter of the Hives. It was like a hot knife through butter, virtually cutting them in half. The explosion sent debris out to all sides and caused significant damage to all ships nearby. With a few, those impacts pushed their damage tolerance to the limit and resulted in secondary explosions all over the ships that blew them straight to hell.

“Hang on, something isn’t right here.” Radek said, “Rodney?”

McKay checked the readouts, “This doesn’t make any sense.”

“What doesn’t make sense?” Ronan asked

“The Wraith are activating their hyperdrive engines.” McKay said

“What? Without their sub-light engines they can’t move into the hyperspace windows?” Weir asked

“Chaya, are they doing what I think their doing?” John asked

“Yes. I’m bringing our hyperdrive online.” Chaya said

“Someone want to inform me?” Weir asked

“They’re targeting their hyperdrive windows to form against the shield. The disruption will cause the shields to collapse and the result to the structure to the city itself will be…explosive.” Chaya said

“John, fire that weapon again.” Weir ordered.

“I am.” John said as another blast took out another quarter of the ships but it took time to channel the energy between each blast.

“Chaya?” Weir asked

“I need to time this precisely.” Chaya said

“For what?” Teyla asked

Chaya didn’t need to answer as the city’s own window formed just as the Wraith’s did. The two intersected creating a massive explosion that ripped through the entire region. The blast was incredibly effective as most Wraith Hives exploded on the spot while others were cast back some distance with most of their systems blasting apart with several hull breaches that exposed the inner sections of the ships to the vacuum of space. In the spit second between the interaction to happen and the explosion to occur, Atlantis entered its window and flew through hyperspace toward the Milky Way.

“Did that destroy all of them?” Ronan asked

“Most. I’m picking up a few active ones but they don’t have enough power to enter hyperspace to reach your galaxy or Pegasus. They’ll never be able to leave that location and if they don’t run out of air then they’ll enter hibernation to stay alive but that will be detrimental due to the fact that they need to perform significant repairs.” Chaya said, “We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us next.”

Beneath the Cabin, Willoughby…

Seconds later Logan started in and punched the Familiar that held his fiancé. Max fell on her ass, right down onto the ground before she sprang up. Both lovers punched and kicked, the Familiars countered each but found that Logan appeared to be immune to the mental powers they subjected onto the pair and that immunity was affecting Max as well. Ahriman watched from the sides, watching each move like it was a choreographed dance. He didn’t understand what he was seeing but it did worry him.

“Impressive, aren’t they?” Sandeman said as he appeared from the entrance

“You. What is he?” Ahriman said

“A Familiar, like us but with Transgenic DNA activating his sequences there’s a little mixing going on. Mixing up here.” Sandeman said while pointing to his head

The fight continued, the only effectual way of beating them was to make sure that they were knocked out cold. Breaking ribs, arms or legs wouldn’t cut it. With their minds conscious they still had a very effective weapon at their disposal. Soon the other Transgenics started to wake up, they may have been groggy but that never stopped them from getting involved in a fight and it wouldn’t stop them now as the each got to their feet.

Sandeman never got involved; he stayed watching at the entrance. He could have come with a weapon, a gun, a knife…anything that could have been used to kill Ahriman but the plan his Ancient friends didn’t call for that. He was only here to ensure his son came to power and to that end he had caused a number of diversions in Willoughby to take the attention of the Familiars in that town from the cabin. If it wasn’t for the fighting, he was sure that even a normal human would have heard the explosions he caused here.

As the sixth Familiar fell Ahriman grew concerned. He ran to the back of the room and pressed a brick. Another panel opened up and he turned to make his escape through his tunnel but then he spotted more Transgenics.

“Hiya.” Alec said before he sent a punch flying but before it connected he suddenly felt pressure on his fist but there was nothing there. No matter how hard he tried to push it forward he couldn’t.

“Pathetic creature, but I have always been fond of cats. I’m sure you would make a good pet, if you didn’t want to claw my eyes out boy. Of course, I’m sure my future bride would do the same but that’ll be so much more fun.” Ahriman said

“Son of a…aghhh.” Alec said as he felt pain in his arm like someone was crushing it

“Oh. You have a mate. Very pretty. I can see her in your thoughts, very prominent in your thoughts.”

“Fuck…you.” Alec said

“Language. You don’t want to let your offspring hear that kind of language. Of course…they wont. I’ll find this Ellie and rip her open. I’ll take your offspring for a little research and learn from Sandeman’s work. We probably wont learn much but it will be enjoyable.”

“Yeah? You’ll have to get through me.” Max said as she kicked his gut.

The sudden surge of pain broke his hold on Alec and the other Transgenics and all ran in to take over from Logan with the Familiars. Ahriman looked up as Logan approached him, he stood next to Max and both faced off against the oldest person on Earth.

“Well, don’t you make quite the couple?” Ahriman said, “Tell me, what does a remarkable young woman like you see in this…person.”

“For starters he’s a better man than you. Not that that’s hard.” Max said

“My heir. I may have had many offspring that founded our society but the thought of one betraying our race and doing this to create the two of you…it is an obscenity but for you dear Max, you I can make an exception.” Ahriman said

“Not in this life time.” Logan said

Ahriman growled, “Shut up boy. You are nothing compared to me.”

“Dal camon ram.” Sandeman called out

“You dare to challenge me?” Ahriman said, “I suppose it has been a while since that tradition has been obeyed.”

“Not me.” Sandeman said, “Blood to blood, I call the challenge for my son.”

“You don’t stand a chance.” Ahriman said as he rushed toward Logan

Logan quickly blocked the initial punches before using the skills Max had quickly taught him in the last few days. The two fought and as Max went into join Logan, Sandeman grabbed her hand. “If you interfere the challenge is forfeit.”

“Screw your rituals.” Max said

“No, no screwing…well you and Logan can do that later but if my people are going to be stopped from one day taking control of this planet then they need to be stopped here and now. Their path is already too far corrupted by his influence due to that Sarcophagus. Ahriman cannot be cured of that insanity after so long in it but Logan is an outsider, raised in a hard world but in peace. He and you can show them a new path.”

Logan kicked and punched, connecting several time but also receiving enough to leave him black and blue, a cracked rib and blood coming from a cut on his lip. Ahriman at one point fell back against a wall. He pushed his hand through a small opening and retracted it so they could see that his hand was now covered in some kind of metal gauntlet, nothing more than a metal cylinder with a hand grip inside it. His hand inside formed a fist that gripped around the interior but what the weapon was, that is what caused concern. There was a serrated blade around 20 centimetres long and as Ahriman held it up against a column he slices it down leaving a massive gasp in the stone without so much as a blemish on the blade.

Just passed Jupiter…

“Don’t even think about taking our fighters out, they don’t stand a chance.” Caldwell said, “If we don’t get help soon, we’re not going to win.”

All of a sudden the alarm at his neighbouring station went off. “Colonel, we’ve got something approaching.”

“Care to elaborate?” Teal’c asked as a station blew up next to him

“Whatever it is, it’s major.”

With a flash of light hyperspace opened up and Atlantis came flying out to stand between the two fleets. They stopped dead as the Ori weapons pounded the city’s shield, spreading over the bubble but not breaching the power of the Ancients. All of the weapon’s ports opened and thousands of drones flew out. The missiles flew in and around the Ori before striking. As expected the Ori shields were powerful enough to withstand the assault but not repeated impacts. Soon the short-range weapons came online and struck at the Ori fighters just as they had done with the Wraith fighters. In the city’s control room Chaya continued to control everything.

“John?” Chaya said

“Yes?” he asked as he ran through the halls of the city

“Are you near the transport room yet?” Chaya said

“Approaching one now.” John said

“Stand in the room, don’t activate it yet.” Chaya said

The central section of the now completed city then retracted the walkways and connections that it had established with the rest of the city. In moments it disconnected with the rest of the city and isolated it’s power systems before it dropped out through the bottom of the rest of the structure. The ship flew quickly through the defensive fleet and straight to Mars. Immediately Chaya sought out the docking port that Merlin crafted onto the surface of the red planet, the moment she arrived in the system the city picked up a call signal being transmitted from deep within Mars. Energy from the ship fired down to clear it of the thousand years of dirt and debris, after it was done she piloted the city down and landed in the perfect shaped space.

Seconds later, as battle continued outside, Shepherd found himself transported into the command chamber of Mars. The moment Atlantis made the connection, the programming of the city was transferred into the systems and the Mars space station became fully active. It had more than enough power since the team stationed in the Goa’uld ship above exchanged its dying ZPM for a Granolith crystal. A control chair then came up and John sat in it. It reclined and lit up.

“Oh wow.” John said as his mind filled with the information on what Merlin intended this place for. “This is Shepherd to Atlantis and Antarctica.”

“Go ahead Colonel?” Weir sent back

“I need every available person with the ATA gene in a city control chair and the one down in Antarctica ASAP.”

“Conformed colonel. I’m at the Outpost now.” Came another voice

“General O’Neill is that you?” Shepherd asked

“Confirmed Colonel. What’s going on?” O’Neill asked

“You’ll see in a moment. Dr Weir?” Shepherd asked

“All chairs are manned Colonel.” Weir said

“Then let’s see how the Ori like this.” Shepherd said

Outside the surface of Mars suddenly cracked along the equator as several 12-mile wide pillars extended up at least 500 feet into the air. After that happened 25 object shot out so fast they were virtually a blur even to the sensors of all the ships.

“Identify those.” Robinson asked his XO

“I can’t sir, they are the size of a Goa’uld Ha’tak but I don’t recognise the configuration.”

“I do. I’ve seen those in a report from Atlantis. Those are Ancient defence satellites.” Carter said as they came into position and opened fire with powerful directed energy beams. Each fired automatically once they picked up on the distinctive energy signatures of the Ori ships. Each beam was equal in power to that of the Ori ships and Adria recognised the threat. The Nox moved in and focused all their mental abilities to protect those satellites.

“That’s it?” O’Neill asked, “What you need the chairs active for?”

“For stage 2.” Shepherd said

200 hatches then opened along the vertical axis of the planet and immediately an army of Ancient Warships flew out of them. It was like an unending torrent of ships that filled the black void of space but eventually they did stop.

“Someone tell me how many ships that is?” Mitchell asked

“225 vessels. All are Ancient design similar to the Aurora class vessels found in Pegasus but their energy emissions are 35 times stronger.” Carter said over the ship-to-ship comm. channel.

“But they can’t be crewed can they? I mean any Ancients onboard would be what, thousands of years old and that’s assuming they’re using stasis chambers.”

“They’re not manned.” Shepherd said, “I’m controlling them through the Control Chair. Is everyone ready for me to release control to you? General O’Neill, you and I are the best ones at controlling them while Chaya pilots Atlantis. We’ll take the bulk, 100 ships apiece. Everyone else will take one.”

“Got it Colonel.” O’Neill said, “Release control now.”

For a second the ships floated free as the other chairs came took control of them. Then they all flew toward the Ori. Weapons fired and filled the blackness with bright lights, brighter than the sun as huge firefight began that flashed across the battleground. Millions of drones and streaking bolts of energy assaulted the Ori endlessly, cutting through their shields and decimating the outside of their ships until they were either crippled or destroyed.

“All ships, continuous fire.” Robinson commanded and they did.

On Adria’s ship, their consoles were shorting out all over the place. Adria’s personal shield protected her while all those around her had cuts and gashes.

“Orici, they are killing us.”

“Keep firing.” Adria commanded

“We can’t. Are weapons are about to go offline.”

“Then we’ll take this to their homeworld.” Adria said as she raised her hand. The ship’s engines kicked into full power and shot off through the solar system as fast as it could.

On Atlantis, “Where’s that ship headed?” Weir asked

“Earth. She’s headed to Earth.” McKay said

“I’ll take care of it.” Shepherd said

“No, John. Stay there and deal with the other Ori ships. We’ll handle it.” Weir said, “Chaya?”

Atlantis launched back up from the surface of Mars and returned to its place in the heart of the massive structure. Atlantis took off in hot pursuit; the collection of highly integrated city ships flew smoothly. As the Ori flagship approached Earth, Atlantis easily overtook it and fired every single one of its remaining drones toward Adria’s ship and blasted it apart.

“We got her.” Ronan said

“Not quite.” Everyone turned around and saw Adria standing in the middle of the gate room along with a small contingent of Ori soldiers, including Tomin. “Did you think your shields could keep me out? Pathetic. Now I will take command of this place of heresy and use it to spread Origin to all galaxies.” She said

“I’d like to see you try.” This time it was Adria’s turn to turn around and saw Merlin standing behind her.

“Moros?” Chaya asked

“It’s agreeable to see you again Chaya.” Merlin said, “But call me Merlin. That’s how I’m known these days.”

“Pathetic old man. You think you can best me?” Adria asked

Merlin waved his hand and suddenly SG-1 appeared in the room along with Max, Liz, Michael, Maria, Alex, Isabel, Kyle and Tess appeared there as well. “I travelled through time, ascended Janus to set things in motion of the plan that brought us this far before coming back here but now, Orici, the living Ori and now last of them. Your forces are weakened and your gods destroyed. Your message will die soon after. You cannot stand against the truth.”

“The Ori are gods, that is the truth.” Adria said angrily. “All humans will bow down to them and worship them on their holy cause to wipe out the darkness.”

“The only truth is that the universe is infinite. Everything else is questionable.” Merlin said

“Well how’s this for a truth?” Adria asked as she waved her hand.

“What did she do?” Max asked

“She called for reinforcements.” Merlin said. “The city’s sensors should have picked up the reactivation of the Supergate.”

“Confirmed. The gate is open again and more ships are coming through.” McKay said as he looked at the readouts.

“How many?” Mitchell asked

“Thousands. Tens of thousands.” Adria said with a smile. “Fire will wash over this galaxy and cleanse it of its darkness. Hallowed are the Ori. Your powerful city cannot withstand that.”

“Actually it can.” Merlin said, “Very few knew about it, only those who held the rank of High Councillor were ever told. The power of this city is even greater than most Ancients knew, a power we sacrificed once we left Earth. Chaya, command the city…protocol 9-19.”

Beneath the Cabin, Willoughby…

“Like my toy? I made it myself. Once I made these was warriors of empires that are now nothing more than the subject of history classes. Then that plague hit once that Ancient outpost was discovered and a few friends and myself were the only ones to survive.” Ahriman said

Sandeman looked at Max, “Okay, that’s cheating. Now you can help.”

“Bout time.” Max said as she rushed in, grabbing a lump of metal from the damaged sarcophagus.

Each time Ahriman slashed Max used that metal length to block the blade, before swinging it around to cause a delay in his reaction while Logan moved in punched Ahirman. This kept going, the Transgenics managed to get the upper hand and knock out the last of the Familiars, with the last of them down they all held back and watched the three fight. They could see that Max and Logan were acting as one well oiled machine without any extensive training for that. They moved as one but Ahriman learned quickly. At the last moment he was able to glide his blade away from Max’s block and sliced it inch deep into Logan’s arm.

Blood poured forth from his wound and Logan fell against the wall, holding it tightly in a useless attempt to halt the flow. Ahriman looked at him for a moment before raising his weapon up to slice through Logan’s shoulder at a diagonal line straight to his heart. It was such a rapid movement that it was a blur to human vision but not the enhanced sight of Transgenic DNA. Max threw her improvised weapon and it pierced Ahriman’s back before he struck. He swung his hand back and smashed into Max’s face, it was such a hard strike that would have broken anyone else’s skull but all it succeeded in doing was knock Max back and smashing her head against a stone wall. She fell unconscious.

Ahriman walked over to her, ready to kick her as he reached behind himself to pull out the metal shard. He knew he was in for a long recovery time thanks to that without his rejuvenating sarcophagus and he wanted to get revenge for that pain he’s enduring. As he pulled his foot back to kick, Logan fought passed the pain and reached out to grabbed Ahriman’s foot. He pulled back sharply and Ahriman fell down, hitting his head against the same brick Max’s head had hit. Logan’s little bit of revenge. Logan got back up to his feet and moved to Max to check on her just as she reopened her eyes. He smiled as he looked down at them and in her eyes he saw Ahriman reflected in them as he stood up with his blade once more ready to strike.

Logan quickly reached out to his side and grabbed the metal before thrusting it behind him. The next thing Ahriman was that the metal was sticking out of his chest and penetrating through his back. His eyes were wide open as he fell back against the wall, he tried to focus his mental powers to pull the rod out of him but he couldn’t do it. It was like his powers were simply gone; he could only assume, while he still had thoughts, that his knock on his head caused more damage than he first thought. Soon he slumped down to the floor with a pool of blood rapidly growing around him as his Familiars started waking up to see it. Logan’s interest was on Max as he helped his lover get back on her feet.

“Ouch.” Max said angrily to Ahriman as she held her head

“You okay?” Logan asked

“I am now.” Max said and then turned around to see the Familiars standing, “Or maybe not.”

Then all of a sudden they looked at Logan, they could literally smell the blood on his hands and knew he was the slayer of their master. As a result, knowing that Logan was the last member of Ahriman’s descendants and that only he could take over since Sandeman was declared outcast and traitor, they dropped to their knees and bowed their heads to their new master.

“It’s over.” Sandeman said

“It is?” Logan asked

“You know, things are about to be fun.” Max said

“In time, yes. But for now you must go to the school with his body to proclaim yourself as leader to the senior members of the breeding lines.” Sandeman said

“Oh, joy.” Max said, not looking forward to dragging a body through the woods

“Let’s go.” Logan said, he didn’t want this job but if it caused the Familiars to stop their future war they planned then the sooner the better. Within half an hour and avoiding any of the normals in the area, they were in the school. Then it was done and Logan and Max’s work had only just begun.

Just Passed Jupiter…

Chaya entered it through her thoughts and dormant programming activated in the city’s systems. The programs caused the city to scan Earth and immediately start to descend into the planet’s atmosphere. They entered over Canada. That was bad enough but the course of the ship took it over Washington and every town between its entry-point before it hit the Atlantic and started to head south. People stood frozen as they watched it before many started to run.

Once over the South Pole, Atlantis washed over the continent with a beam of light that deconstructed the ice that covered the landmass a mile beneath. It was all converted into water that filled the tanks of the structure. It exposed the tower left behind when Atlantis left Earth the first time, the outpost that defended the Earth when Anubis attacked. The dome that covered the surface of the ice hole that led down to it had been relocated to one of the piers but once the ice was gone Atlantis started to land and reintegrate the outpost back into itself.

“What is this?” Adria asked

“Watch.” Max said, he knew about this as the city drew every drop of power from all its sections and the town. Energy formed a perfect circle around the great city before a massive ring like beam shot up, forming a cylinder that shot out through space. It curved and twisted its way through the galaxy to the active Supergate. The blast hit the wormhole and was translated through it and on the other side the next wave of ships waited but the shot ensnared them all. The simply ceased to exist, there was no explosion, no sound, they were just gone as the wave continued on through the Ori home galaxy. Before long it locked onto Celestas. The city of the gods was hit and was gone in the blink of an eye. All that remained was a massive crater before the blast stopped but as it did, the energy of it overloaded the Supergate and destroyed it on both ends.

Adria felt it, “What have you done?”

“Ended the war. Forever.” Merlin said, “The city on the Planes of Celestas is gone. With the Priors loosing their powers and the city gone, eventually people in your home galaxy will know their gods aren’t gods.”

Adria looked to her guards and each raised their weapons. “Destroy them.” She commanded

“Tomin don’t.” Vala said

“These heretics must be destroyed as will you unless you bow to Origin.” Tomin said angrily

“We’re not heretics, Tomin. You heard what they just said, the Ori are gone, their city is destroyed. How can they be gods if that happened?” Vala said, “And Adria you need to stop. On some level you have to know that what you’ve been doing is wrong.”

“I follow the will of the Ori, mother, and they command that no doubters be spared in our cause to bring illumination to this or any other galaxy.” Adria said, “If, through me, they command a world to burn then it burns.”

“She is right.” Tomin said and Adria turned to him, “The Ori cannot be gods. Forgive me Orici but it is true. Were they gods then this shouldn’t have been possible, their armies shouldn’t have been able to be defeated, the Holy City could not have been destroyed and the Ori could not have been killed if they were true gods. I saw the pain you and the Prior felt. They are gone.” Tomin looked to his staff weapon and dropped it to the floor. The other soldiers each did the same.

“It’s over Adria.” Vala said

“Not yet.” Adria said as she turned back to the others with her eyes glowing with fire

“Adria stop.” Vala said

“Sorry mother, if I have to Ascend myself and begin the Ori’s work again then that is what I will do.” Adria said

“You can’t Ascend. You’re powerful Orici but the Ori made sure you couldn’t ascend, they made sure that you were limited by evolution so that you couldn’t do it yourself. You know very well the Ori don’t share power.” Merlin said, “You need help to ascend.”

“I will find away.” Adria said

“No you wont. The other Ascended will not allow such a threat to emerge. Given the fact you are now trapped in this galaxy you would surely Ascend to them.” Merlin said, “The Ori never learned. They were so intent on wiping out the Ancients they never stopped to think. While we focused on protecting the galaxies under our control from you we worked to seek the path to further ascension.”

“There is no further ascension. The Ori stood as gods.” Adria said

“On I don’t know about that.” Mitchell said, “The universe is supposed to be infinite.”

“Yes it is.” Daniel said

“What is it?” Carter asked him

“The Ori were never fully ascended, neither are the Ancients. They’re like Anubis, caught in another plane of existence, just higher than he was. They are ascended but not as much as they could be.” Daniel said

“Tell me Dr Jackson, is that your intuition or the knowledge left in your subconscious when you returned to human form?” Merlin asked, “And you’re right. We learned shortly after the division of our race that separated us into the Ori and Ancients, we weren’t what we should have been. Our conflict hampered both our developments.”

“Then it doesn’t matter if I wiped you all out then.” Adria said

“No, Adria. It does. The path is obscured to us but not blocked.” Merlin said

“Meaning?” Adria asked

“Meaning that if someone was to make that leap then the Ancients could follow in time. But it will take two people Ascending together, one Ancient and one Ori.” Daniel said

“Not just ascending, bonding. Two becoming one, together forever as those who would not only see the knowledge and power of the infinite universe but all dimensions across all universes and beyond.” Merlin said

“Are you suggesting…?” Adria asked

“No, neither Chaya or myself can ascend as punishment for our lack ability to obey their rules. But there is another.” Merlin said

“Who?” Vala asked

Merlin looked around to SG-1 and the Roswellians. For a moment Liz thought he was looking at Max. “Oh don’t even think about it.” Liz said

“Not him.” Merlin said, “His role here is too important, but him…” he said before looking to Daniel.

“What?” Mitchell asked

“I wasn’t sent back as punishment for trying to protect Abydos was I?” Daniel asked

“No. The others knew, they saw in you what Oma Desala did but they couldn’t send you back without reason.” Chaya said as she left the chair

“Wait a minute, I don’t understand.” Carter said

Daniel smiled, “I know, and you wont for a very long time but you’re not supposed to. Humans aren’t ready for that.” He said as he walked closer to Adria

“Daniel…Adria?” Vala asked

“Do not fear mother.” Aria said

“What are you talking about?” Vala asked

“The connection that exists. The reason why Adria never killed Daniel in all the opportunities she had. He was…chosen.” Merlin said

“Chosen by whom?” Carter asked, “Why him?”

“Because Oma knew I could be a link and with Adria…well, we’re going to be together for some time.” Daniel said

“A new path.” Adria said as she took Daniel’s hands in hers, “A new understanding.”

“I thought they said she couldn’t Ascend?” Vala asked

“Not without help.” Carter said as they watched both Merlin and Chaya move to their sides.

The two Ancients lifted their hands and channelled the understandings and power that they recalled from their initial Ascension into them. From their joined hands there was a glow and as Adria looked into his eyes. The glow spread over them, fire spread over Adria and white light spread over Daniel before it mixed together to create two beings of a brilliant blue light. As their bodies became energy, their clothes fell to the floor in piles as they rose higher and higher before leaving this plan of existence. Across the universe there was a split second of brilliant light as though every star flared as a signal. As they did, Adria learned much in that first second alone as the wisdom of the Ancients from Daniel mixed with her as the Ori equivalent became apart of him. They both learned the errors of their sides and became something new, just before Adria left she sent a beam of light to Tomin and the other Ori soldiers showing them the true path.

In the following moments, Merlin blinked and then collapsed but Chaya quickly caught him. “Merlin?”

“Here, I’ll…” Max started as he readied his hand to heal their old Ancient

Merlin grabbed his hand, “No! Don’t waste your time young Aurelianus, my time is done.” He said

“But…”

“I’m old. Too old to live much longer. And it took all that I had left to help them ascend…to become transcendant.” Merlin said, “They are beyond anything that has been experienced.”

“What’s happed to the Orici?” Tomin asked

“She is one with everything.” Merlin said, “And one with her new husband.”

“What?” they all asked

“A simplistic term to describe their new relationship but still accurate yet still pale.” Merlin said

“Are you saying Daniel just became my son in-law?” Vala asked

“Yes, and together they can…they can…” Merlin struggled to say before closing his eyes and stopped breathing.

“Vala?” Tomin asked

“Tomin, are you okay?” Vala asked

“I am now.” Tomin said, “The Orici fulfilled her purpose. She was the one from whom all will learn and she showed me the just before she left us. I guess there’s much we must discuss.”

“I take it we’re still married?” Vala asked

“I never stopped loving you, even if I did feel betrayed by you. If you still choose to be with me?” he asked as he held out his hand and she took it.

“Chaya…Daniel?” Weir asked

“He is beyond even the Ascended. There is no other way for me to explain it other than that he was sent back to this plane because they knew he would contact the Ori, they knew that the Ori would learn all they could from him and besides, Adria may have been aggressive in her agenda but she did like Daniel.” Chaya said, “He did what no one else here could.”

“So, now what?” Alex asked

“Now, we change the world.” Max said

“Well said.” Chaya said

Living Room, Parker Residence, 19:00 That Day

With debris falling onto the surfaces of the moon and Mars after getting caught in what little gravity they had, the parents suddenly found themselves appearing in the Parker’s living room. They had been all over the town but the second they were alone in whatever room they were in but after arriving the way they did they could only assume their kids were responsible.

“I’m never going to get used to that.” Diane said

“Well you wont have to do it often.” Liz said from behind them

Each adult looked at their children and the smiles they had on their faces, “Their smiling, I worry when they smile like that.” Amy said

“Mom, relax. It’s nothing bad.” Maria said

“This wouldn’t have anything to do with the great big space ship that have people running for the hills?” Philip asked

“Oh, yeah. How did that go over?” Max asked

“There’s been nothing but that on the news since it flew over Washington and every other town and city before it disappeared over the Atlantic. A few people have panicked but there’s been more of the overwhelming curiosity about it.” Jeff said, “The White House has said that they’ll be a statement tomorrow morning.”

“Yes we know. We’ve already spoken to President Hayes.” Liz said

“You have?” Nancy said

“Yeah he sent us a call after everything…well, after it all calmed down.” Maria said

“After what calmed down?” Jim asked

“Well…I suppose there really is only one way to say it. We just fought a war.” Max said

“What?” They all asked

“The Ori just launched an attack on Earth, with 250 ships.” Michael said

“250 give or take.” Maria added

“And boy did we kick butt.” Kyle said

“Uh hum.” Max said

“Oh okay, the Asgard, Nox, the Ancient fleet, the Antarian fleet and our Furling ships kicked butt along with the three Earth ships.” Kyle said, “But hey, we wiped out the Ori. We got the weapon and hooked it up resulting in the outright end of the bad guys who either wanted us dead or praying to them.”

“So…so…okay, let me get this straight. You, as in our children, just fought in a major battle in space?” Diane asked

Isabel smiled, “We even have our own personal space ships now. One a piece.” She said

“Well it’s not like the SGC can man that many and they don’t have enough people with the gene to control them.” Tess said

“I’m sorry, could we go back to the MAJOR BATTLE IN SPACE?” Philip asked

“I think they’re stressing.” Liz said

“Oh yeah.” Max said, “Okay, we fired the weapon. We wiped out the Ori and apparently that had a reaction to their followers. They came here and we were then beamed up into the Darkal. We shot the Ori army. We actually thought we were about to loose but then an Ancient ship showed up and that unleashed an Ancient fleet of warships. They were controlled by thought. General O’Neill took up control of a few from the Antarctic weapons outpost after firing every drone he had, Colonel Shepherd had control from the chair he had and a several individuals who did have the level of control Shepherd has commanded separate ships. With those ships we…won. Big time.”

“Adria, the head big bad…at least on this plane of existence, she didn’t go quite so easily. She beamed onto our ship to get revenge but we found another path for her. That big glowy thing that happened in the sky for a second, that was it. With that the war ended. The remaining Ori ships were sent back to the Supergate and returned to their home galaxy.” Liz said

“I think I need a drink.” Philip said

“You don’t drink.” Diane said

“I’m thinking of taking it up.” Philip said

“So, it’s over?” Amy asked

“Very over. Of course there are still a lot of really bad people out there but Earth now has some serious defences and the ability to go over the galaxy without a lot of worry. Maybe even a few other galaxies but I doubt we’ll do that for a while.” Max said

“What now?” Nancy asked

“Well, starting tomorrow the world changes, as for us…how would you feel if we moved out?” Isabel asked

“You know, it’s funny. For a moment there I could have sworn that I just heard you ask to move out. Move out, into the same place, away from us and probably pairing up into the same bed.” Jeff said

“Uh…yeah, that about covers it but not exactly away from you.” Liz said, “We want you to come with us. I mean yes we’d have out own places but you’d be nearby. You see there’s…well let’s just call it a new school…it’s a place we feel would be better suited to educating us. We’d also never need to worry about people freaking out if they found out about us being alien since the place we’d be going to has people who deal with alien societies on a daily basis.”

“Where? Stargate Command?” Jim asked

“Not exactly.” Tess said

“It’ll be easier if we just show you.” Max said as looked to Liz and nodded. Moments later they all vanished.

Gate Room, Atlantis, Antarctica, Immediately Following

With a flash of light they appeared in a room completely unfamiliar to the elder humans. They looked around and watched as Earth’s Stargate was being lowered in to replace the Pegasus gate that Chaya beamed out. It came in through the Jumper Bay with both accesses opened so the ship could lower it in. All around them there were people moving and talking, it was busy and almost busy as usual.

“What is this place?” Jeff asked

Dr Weir came walking quickly down the steps and smiled, “Mr and Mrs Evans, Mr and Mrs Parker, Ms Deluca, Mr Valenti and Mr & Mrs Whitman. It’s a pleasure to welcome you to Atlantis.”

“I’m sorry, what?” Charles asked

“Atlantis, the…uh…real Atlantis. It’s a city built by the Ancients.” Liz said

“We’ve had an expedition based here for nearly three years, of course most of that time the city was in the Pegasus galaxy but now it’s here.” Dr Weir said

“And here is?” Diane asked

“Antarctica.” Dr Weir said, “I think this will explain it far better than I ever could.” She said and indicated for them to follow her. She walked up the stairs and they all followed to the window that looked out upon the city, the full and complete city, and they all stared at the majesty of it all.

“Holy god.” Jim said

“My sentiments exactly.” Weir said, “This left Earth over 7 million years ago and now it’s home.”

“This…it’s incredible.” Diane said

“More than you know, hell, more than we know.” Weir said

“And you all want to live here?” Nancy asked

“A section of the city is from Antar and it’s now filled with citizens of the empire from all four planets including the High Council. They want to be close to me, Isabel, Michael and Tess. It’s a part of the whole royalty thing.” Max said, “Larek said it’s good politically.”

“On the other hand there is one person here who can teach us and our people to be the whole rebirth of the Ancients thing that apparently Merlin planned.” Isabel said

“And this is an incredible place to live. I mean just try and imagine it. Besides, living here…it wouldn’t be right if you weren’t here, and we don’t want to be alone.” Liz said

“Thanks to Chaya piloting the city over Washington and other places on it’s way down here, the President is doing a public statement with the world leaders currently involved with the project. Everything is going to be released to every nation on the planet.” Weir said

“Just not the technology.” Michael said

“Yes, not that, not just yet. There are still some nations here that have problems but we’re hoping that our new reality can help unify Earth like never before.” Weir said

“Of course when the president does go public, you being our parents will get a lot of press.” Maria said

“Yeah I get that.” Amy said

“But what would we do here?” Jim asked

“Well so far we’ve been using the military personnel for security. That’s fine for a military base but we’ve got a lot of civilians living here now, many from other worlds across the Pegasus Galaxy. We need some law enforcement but finding someone we can trust without being paranoid about alien cultures is difficult.” Weir said just as John came over

“That and we’re sitting on a legal minefield given that there are several international treaties regarding Antarctica and the nations that don’t know about the city are all going to want to get in. Things are going to get complicated and believe me there’s more than enough for everyone of you to do.” John said, “The IOA are brining in some top guns but we need someone to speak for us.”

“I’d be honoured.” Philip said

“We’re keeping the shield up for now to keep everyone out that we can’t trust but in time we’re going to be letting people inside. Sooner or later this city is going to be the worlds biggest tourist attraction and there’s very little we can do about that.” Weir said

“We’ve got a lot to get done and need all the help we can get if you’re interested.” John said

“Oh I think we’re interested.” Jeff said as he looked around at his fellow parents.

“Good. We better look out some new homes for you. Your children will be living in the Antarian section with the rest of the Antarians but we have space here.” Weir said

“Something tells me that they would like that distance.” Jeff nodded as he looked at his daughter holding Max’s hand.

“Come on, we’ll show you around and let the doctor get back to work.” Liz said as she let go of Max and took one of her mother’s hands and one of her father’s as she took them to the nearest transport room. Soon they were wondering all over the massive city that practically covered the entire, now ice free, continent.

Inside Access Studios, Washington D.C., Same Time

4 years previously a leak resulted in a reporter named Julia Donovan learning of Project Prometheus, while she never got specific details she did have enough to make life difficult for the people at Stargate Command. The only deal they could make was to give her an exclusive that would remain buried until it all went public. She was given a tour and learned that Prometheus was Earth’s first interstellar battleship, she learned the stakes that day and after a renegade NID operation where operatives posing as her camera crew hijacked the ship and launched it for their own ends. After that she swore to remain quiet.

Now, after Atlantis flew over the city and scared a lot of people, she was getting her people ready to go live with the story after contacting the SGC for permission. While she was still waiting she knew that they couldn’t keep quiet for much longer, there certainly wasn’t a cover story that they could put in place to explain what happened. She was sitting behind her desk in front of the camera, going over all her notes and text for the teleprompter.

“No, no. I need this section up top and the section on control interface moved down here.” Julia said

“Yes Ms Donovan.” Her assistant said

Just then there was a flash. The entire crew for the program stopped as Colonel Carter appeared in the room. “Sam?” Julia asked

“Hi Julia.” Carter said

“Nice entrance.” Julia said and then realised, “You’re going public? With everything?”

“Yes we are. And this story is much bigger than you or let in on or can imagine.” Sam said

“How big?” Julia asked

“I’m here to take you to a place where I’ll give you a tour.” Carter said

“A tour of what?” Julia asked

“Everything. A more detailed tour of the base you were transported to during the Prometheus incident but you’ll be the onsite reporter when the President goes public tomorrow morning. That site is Atlantis.” Carter said

“Atlantis as in?”

“Yes.” Carter said

“Okay, uh Frank get the camera and Jenny get the equipment from the mobile unit.” Julia said

“Wait.” Carter said to them and they stopped, “Sorry Julia but after what happened with Prometheus we use our own camera crew.”

“I understand.” Julia said, after last time she certainly couldn’t blame them. She stood up and grabbed her micro-cassette recorder, a note pad and her lucky pen before she headed to stand next to Sam. “I’m ready.”

Carter pulled out her radio, “Daedalus this is Carter. Two to transport.” Seconds later the two of them were beamed away and once more left the studio crew stunned to the point that for long minutes they just stood motionless staring at the site where they had been standing.

Corridor to the Press Briefing Room, The White House, Washington D.C, 09:00 The Next Morning

President Hayes was walking down the corridor along with several other Heads of State and their staff. Each were going over their comments as the entire building was in a mindset of pure chaos right now as they were about to expose the greatest secret their governments had kept, 10 years for the US, 5 for the UK, France and China and 3 years for everyone else involved. It would most certainly hit the fan, they knew there would be panic but arrangements had already been put in place to relocate the Stargate to Atlantis. In there, it was beyond even them. Protected under the shield of the city with Dr Weir and a team of civilian scientists as well as a massive population of Pegasus residents, Antarians and now a handful of Ancients it was safe from those who would attempt to misuse the piece of alien technology. And there was certainly more than a fair share of people on the planet who would attempt to do just that.

“And this section here, do we really want to tell them about the previous attacks from the Goa’uld?” Hayes asked

“We’re all agreed sir, the Joint Chiefs included and General O’Neill. We’ll cover everything in more detail in the next few days Mr President but we feel that coming forward with everything today would be best.” The President’s Chief of Staff said

“And that we’re all still here will comfort them a little.” Hayes said

“That’s our hope sir. Also, we’ve got SG-1 and Colonel Shepherd’s team ready to talk to the press.”

“Ms Donovan’s onboard?”

“She’s getting an exclusive on the story of the millennium, she’s onboard. We’ve also got Emmett Bregman’s documentary tape of the SGC ready to air this evening at 7:15. All the networks are covering it.”

“Good. Is Bregman ready?” Hayes asked

“He’s running the camera crew on the Theseus.”

The President stopped at the door into the pressroom and looked at his fellow leaders, “Gentlemen, everyone ready?” They all nodded, “Then let’s change the world.”

The door was opened for them and they walked in, one after the other and hundreds of flashes went off as cameras took their pictures. The entire world was awake and watching regardless of the time zone they were in, since the incident over Washington everyone had been waiting for this.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, the President of the United States.” Hayes’s press secretary introduced

“Please be seated.” Hayes said, “Ladies and Gentlemen, citizens of the Earth…I come before you today in reaction to the incident yesterday in which an object flew over the US. That object was a ship that was constructed millions of years ago by a race called the Ancients. Today I am able to tell you that alien life does exist on other planets and we have made friends among many races.” Just then there was a flash of light as an Asgard beamed in along with a Tok’ra representative, a Nox, Larek, Sara in her Furling form and Chaya. All stood in a row and instantly had their pictures taken as the world looked on. “Our guests here are just some of many and they come to us in peace. Today I will speak to you of our contact with these varying races, both those who are our friends and allies as well as those who are hostile. Contact was made possible by the discovery of a piece of alien technology in Egypt in 1928, a piece of technology that we couldn’t get to work until ten years ago. It’s called the Stargate…”

Auditorium, West Roswell High…

Forget school, forget work, forget sleep, there wasn’t a person on the planet that wasn’t glued to their television screen as they watched the ultimate revelation happen in their lifetimes. Every single last student and member of the faculty were sitting in the auditorium as the television signal was projected up onto a big screen at the stage.

“…It’s natural for people to fear this discovery, and the dangers that exist beyond our solar system but our world is defended.” The President said on the screen.

All the students watched intently with Max and everyone else sitting among it all. They couldn’t believe that their parents made them go to school today of all days but here they were. Not a single soul new about them yet but knew that was about to change within a few hours as the President was going to detail each of the advanced races they were aligned with. However, things never got that far. Before long there was a flash in the room and the students were shocked as an alien similar to one they were seeing on television right now suddenly appeared on the stage next to the television.

“Greetings.” Thor said

There was a very audible gulping noise made in the room that echoed everywhere. Thor scanned the crowd of students and saw the eight he was looking for. “King Zan, your people await you and the others on Atlantis. I have been asked to convey you to the city.” Thor said

“I…uh…think you have the wrong place.” The school’s Principal said

“No, no he doesn’t.” Max said as everyone around him looked at him. He and the other’s each stood up and pulled on their jackets before picking up their bags. They walked down the stairs toward the stage as every eye in the large room stayed on them.

“Wait, wait, wait…” Liz and Max’s bio teacher said, “You’re aliens?”

“No. We’re…” Max started, “Well yeah, I guess we are. It’s complicated.”

“Keep watching the TV.” Isabel said

“Nice and subtle Thor.” Michael said

“Your exposure would happen in a matter of hours, it no longer matters.” Thor said

“You…uh, know each other?” a student asked

“Oh yeah, quite well.” Liz said, “Hey Thor.”

“Greetings Ms Parker.” Thor said

“We are aliens as far as being different is concerned. Isabel, Michael, Max and I were born on Antar, killed, then cloned and left here on Earth to hide.” Tess said

“We were born human but lately Liz, Kyle, Alex and I are Furlings. Have fun.” Maria said with a smile before Thor beamed them all out, leaving a flabbergasted student body. In moments the President directed the signal feed to what was coming from Atlantis and introduced Julia Donovan’s report just as Max, Liz and the others all beamed into the gate room. Their parent’s were already there after spending the morning packing up their belongings and having them relocated to the Lost City that was now very much public.

Colorado Springs High…

Cassandra and Jack’s former classmates were all sitting watching as well. Then they crossed the camera in Atlantis and it wasn’t missed.

“That was Jack and Cassie…that was Jack and Cassie, someone that was JACK and CASSIE.”

“I saw. They’re there.”

“It can’t be.”

“Do you really think they would be there?”

Just then they crossed again to meet the Roswellians as they beamed into the gate room and all of them walked off.

“Okay. It was Jack and Cassie.”

Each one of them pulled out their cell phones and started dialling the numbers they knew for the pair, only a couple got through to the pair and as such everyone else got a busy number. The two residents of Atlantis had very special reception in the city and trotted back into the background of the camera angle and waved.

“HOLY SHIT!” the students all said.

“Language.” Their teacher warned. A few hours later they got an explanation when the president singled them out and mentioned their history with Stargate Command.

Royal Suite, North Part of the Central Tower, Antarian Section, Atlantis, 2 Days Later

In Max’s office, he was sitting at his brand-new desk and going over all the new paperwork that as king he was now lumped with. Oh how he missed the simple life of the UFO Museum but he knew he’d get used to it. Already he made some arrangements, Dr Beckett had insisted that the shield remain up and the city sealed. The landmass of the continent had been covered in ice for a great deal of time, forgetting the Ancient Plague alone there would be dozens if not thousands of pathogens that had been dormant under the ice that could have been freed once Atlantis removed all that ice. Max had arranged for one of his ships to do a detailed scan over every inch of the continent and sterilising it if needed. It was, but it didn’t take long.

As he worked away with everything that Larek gave him to get caught up to speed, Liz sat on a nearby couch with Sara. Dean was left minding the children up on the Dolchoi and preparing as much as he could for the hatching of the embryos that were given to them by the Transgenics. It would happen soon and the Furlings would have a suitable gene pool with which to procreate a new society.

“Are you sure about this?” Liz asked as she looked over a file on a distant planet

“It may be on the outskirts of the galaxy but it’s got what we need. It’s rich with natural energy, wide-open spaces, grassy fields and clear rivers. The area is like a virtual, oh what did Dean call it…oh yes, Eden. A perfect place for children to grow up in.” Sara said

“Perhaps you and Dean should change your names to Adam and Eve.” Liz said

“Adam and Eve?” Sara asked, she had no knowledge of the reference

“Ask Dean when you get back up there.” Liz said, “You just make sure you give me the gate address. I might want to stop by for a visit now and then and don’t you be a stranger.”

“Same to you.” Sara said

“Clothes or no clothes?” Liz asked

“No clothes. Some things we won’t change but I guess if we do get visitors a little modesty for their sake would be appreciated. Besides we could always manipulate out own flesh to cover up what they don’t want to see.” Sara said, “We’ll connect a warning system to the gate to let us know when someone arrives.”

“You know, I thought you’d have chosen a planet like Furl’I?” Liz said

“Dean and I thought about it but we’re not the old Furlings. We’re something new. That planet was dark and the old ones were virtually nocturnal. We both felt that as a new race we should have a new planet and we both grew up on Earth with a bright sun. I think this is best.”

“I think so to.” Liz said, “But you need to work on a new name for it. The SGC are good at a lot of things but not naming planets. I mean P2C-013 isn’t exactly very descriptive.”

“I know. We’ll think of something. My concern is the ships thought.” Sara said

“Oh?”

“They’re old Liz, so old and tired. I don’t think they want to fly in space anymore, definitely don’t want to fight anymore. Besides the Dolchoi is currently pregnant. In another week another ship will be born, may be smaller and weaker but its certainly more advanced than most of the hostile species out there in this galaxy.” Sara said

“I guess there is nothing we can do to stop them if they do choose to land permanently. Besides you will need somewhere to live until you can build some proper homes.” Liz said

“Yes but their not just ships, they are living creatures that were born to fly through space. I don’t want them to give up a piece of themselves.” Sara said

“They wont be. They could always take off again if they want to.” Liz said

“True but they spent about 6 million years buried underground, I’d think they want as much freedom as they could?”

“I know but the one think they want more than anything is to protect us and ensure that we all live. Maybe they know that you’ll need a place to live and take care of all those children and are making some choices for you.”

“Perhaps. Anyway, speaking of children…” Sara asked

Liz smiled and looked over to Max. “We’ve been talking about it.”

“Oh really?” Sara asked

“I’ve been resisting my impulses because of everything that had been happening lately. Now that’s all over…” Liz said

“Well then I guess I better leave you two alone. I know how private you still consider mating.” Sara said, “I should be getting back up anyway, the ships should be ready to leave by now.”

“I will miss you.” Liz said

Sara stood and walked away to the door, passing Max’s desk as she went. “Have fun Max.”

“You’re leaving?” Max asked, “Have fun with what?”

Sara opened the door without saying anything and left the room. Liz cleared her throat and got Max’s attention to her. She was standing before the desk and started walking closer to it. As she did she reached up, crossing her arms to that her fingers reached the shoulder straps of her dress. She pulled them off her shoulders and Liz let the dress fall down to the floor, leaving her completely naked before him.

“Oh boy.” Max said

Liz smiled as she walked around the desk and reached over to the back of his chair. She turned him around and then straddled him. Max reached up and held her sides, just under her ribs while she hooked both her arms around the back of his head. “It’s time Max. Time for you to become a father.” She said

“I know.” Max said

“Tell me you love me.” Liz said

“I do love you. Completely.” He answered with every ounce of honesty he had.

Liz leaned in and the two of them kissed passionately. Max felt her hands come round to his chest and start to pull up his sweater. He lifted his arms and let her take it off him, once it was on his office floor her hands darted down to his pants that was exposed just between them. However Max suddenly stopped her.

“Marry me?” he asked

Liz smiled and nodded happily, “Yes.” She said almost like a whisper. The two kissed again, leaning together and pressing their chests together. Their tongues duelled together; her fingers slid through his hair and simply gave themselves over to each other. “Max.”

“Yes?” he asked breathlessly

“We’re not the only ones making love right now.” Liz said into his ear

“I know. I can feel them, and as much as I want to kill Alex all I care about right now is you.” Max said before his lips found her throat.

She titled her head back and gasped before tendrils extended from her fingers. She used them to work on his pants and the second they were undone Liz lifted herself up just enough for Max to divest himself of them. Soon they and his boxers were down by his ankles where he kicked them off. Liz’s tendrils withdrew as her fingers wrapped around his dick. Slowly the brunette stroked his soft length and felt it start to harden under her touch.

Soon he was hard, incredibly hard and Liz lifted herself up off his lap just a little. The two of them stared into each other’s eyes as she held his dick in place, the bulbous head of his length was right under her slit. In a moment she pushed her hips down and the tip of his dick slipped inside her. Their eyes closed and they both sighed as inch by inch she went lower until they were fully joined as one. Their hands glided over their slick bodies and they looked into each other’s eyes. Liz had her legs wrapped around his body as she raised her body up and sank back down, over and over again.

“Oh god…FUUUUUCKKK LIZ.” Max strained out

“Uh…uhhh…Hmmmmm.” Liz moaned, “Max…I…I love you.” Liz said as Max’s cock sawed inside her

Max moved his hands down to her hip, caressing her skin as she gyrated above him. Liz had her arms loved around her lover’s head, her hands running through his hair, which was quickly soaking up the sweat from his brow.

“UGH…LIZZZZ…PLEAASEE.” Max said as she squeezed down on him. We still couldn’t get used to being inside of her.

“MA…MAXXXXXXXXXX.” Liz said as her moved movements picked up speed as she climaxed, Max thrusting up into her.

“OH YES, LIZ GOD…YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS.” Max said spurting his seed into her again as Liz collapsed into his arms. Max’s hips jerked again and again as he emptied every last drop into his beloved.

The very moment they stopped, Liz’s eyes opened and she smiled. She felt it start in her womb, she felt Max’s sperm join with her egg and cell division begin quickly. Liz pulled herself up, Max’s hard dick was released from her pussy and was slick with her juices. Liz took Max’s hand and pulled him out of his chair, she led him through the door, into their living area before heading into their bedroom.

“Our child is going to be born in our bedroom.” Liz said

“And I’ll be with you every moment.” Max said, “From now until the end of time.”

Liz smiled as she moved onto their bed and moments later they watched as her stomach swelled up like a balloon. Max grabbed a couple of blankets and got himself in position to birth his child, which would be any second now.

Alex/Isabel’s Suite, East Part of the Central Tower, Antarian Section…

The moment Max and Liz got together a wave of desire flooded through the city to those who could pick up on them, namely everyone in their little family. Their individual natures connected them, Ancient-to-Ancient, Furling-to-Furling and lover to lover. Chaya knew what was happening in the city but only smiled as her new students revelled in the delights of their bodies, now that she was flesh and blood again that was something she was looking forward to once more should she ever find someone.

The two of them explored their new home but after a while it simply became to hard for them to resist each other. So they didn’t. The scent of Isabel instantly gave him an erection and in seconds Isabel was all over him as they kissed passionately. Alex lifted her up, carried her over to and sat her on their dining table. He reached up and grabbed hold of the edges of her dress and pulled it apart and off her shoulders, exposing her firm, full breasts. Isabel smiled lustfully before pulling his head down so she could kiss him. Their tongues duelled as Alex unbuttoned the dress that the sealed the lower part of the garment at her waist. It still hung from her arms as she exposed his strained dick.

“Take me Alex. Fuck me.” Isabel begged breathlessly. Alex wrapped his hand around his dick and aimed it at Isabel opening. With one quick thrust Alex buried himself inside Isabel. “Ugh…ughh…ughnnnn.” Isabel moaned as Alex filled her.

Alex then lifted her off if the desk and promptly Isabel wrapped her legs around him as he held onto her ass. Isabel started to raise herself up and down on his cock, her breasts pressed against him and her hair falling over her face. Isabel was still grinding her hips against Alex, taking his length deeper and deeper into her. Alex withdrew his cock until he was almost out of her and then pushed quickly back up into her. Over and over again he did this, each time her elicited a gentle cry and whimper from his lover as her lower jaw trembled.

Isabel used her weight to turn Alex and very quickly the couple were no longer on the table but soon falling onto the floor. Alex lying squarely on top of her, thrusting deep into her.

“OH…UGHHH…GOD…MORE...” Isabel gasped as Alex covered her left breast with his hand.

“Al…Alex…OH GOD…don’t stop…pleeeeaaaaaseee.” Isabel begged as she looked into his eyes

Isabel smiled as Alex continued to move within her, her orgasm rapidly approaching. Both lovers turned their attention back to each other. Then all of a sudden Alex stopped and looked down into the eyes of Isabel. The blonde looked back up at him but closed her eyes when he started to move very slowly within her. Alex had realised that he wasn’t making love to his girl but rather seeking his own pleasure from her body…he never wanted that. Their link had told Isabel what he was feeling and as much as she wanted a good, hard pounding from Alex, she always preferred it when he physically expressed his true love for her.

“Is…Isabel.” Alex groaned as Isabel tightened her muscles around his cock

“ALEX…PLEASE…OH YESSSSSSSS.”

“ISA…BELLLLLLL.” Alex strained out as he buried his cock deep within Isabel and ejaculated his seed within her as she came with him. Her arms and legs wrapped around him and they stayed perfectly still as they kissed. Long moments later he pulled out of her and they moved to their sofa where they wrapped themselves up in an Ancient blanket before tuning into one of the many news broadcasts they picked up from all over the planet. Of course it was all about them, Roswell was now flooded with press after someone at the school called them about how 8 of their students were beamed out along with an Asgard.

Michael/Maria’s Suite, West Part of the Central Tower, Antarian Section…

Michael and Maria didn’t need much prompting, they were already naked and in a 69. Michael lapped at Maria as she sucked on him but the second Max and Liz’s bodies became one they needed more than this. Now she was on her back, Michael was pushing into her more than receptive body and with each thrust she grew closer to climax. Her moaning was turning Michael on, every time she yelled out in pleasure she could feel Michael growing a little bit harder…neither of them knew it could go much more but it was happening and both wanted it to go on forever.

Their lips fused together, long and hard for what seems like an eternity, their tongues battled for domination and their hands were going where they never have gone before, moaning into each other, they could feel their hearts beginning to meld. Michael loomed over her, casting a shadow over her face, passion, lust and above all else love, Maria could see everything in his eye’s. But also hunger, need, intensity began to show as well. She only had to look to see his intention before he or she acted on it.

“Don’t stop, I want this more than anything, I want you.” Maria said without thinking, her eye’s conveyed it all, Michael then growled like an animal, scolding her with his intense gaze, as he reaches down and takes her lips with his own again.

Michael assaulted her mouth with his own, invading her without the slightest hint of hesitation. He has never longed for a woman like he has with Maria, crushing her to his chest. Maria’s whole body was on fire, her nipples hard and she could feel Michael’s hard cock against her stomach, she revelled in the fact that she made him feel this way, she was the cause of his arousal and she could do this at any time.

“Oh god, Michael.” No one could ever make her feel this way, only her true mate could. Her body was becoming more relaxed; it knew its true master was this rebel alien who loved and who was pleasing her so completely. Her Furling side sparked utter desire in her that only served to increase Michael’s desires and he was eagerly surrendering to it.

“You feel so good Maria, soooooo good.” he said in between kisses, his eye’s clouded with love and passion.

“Maria” he moaned against her breast, slowly taking one nipple into his mouth, sucking it like a feral animal, tugging on it with his lips and teeth, tasting her soft flesh. Soft needful noises came from deep within her throat as Michael’s right hand teased her other nipple.

“Oh god Maria...I need you so bad.” Michael’s voice rasped, Maria’s small hand stroking him, bringing him that much closer to completion. “ I love you Maria, never anyone else but you.” he said as she grinds herself against his penis, creating friction that drove Michael crazy. Carefully, Michael thrust partly into Maria, sheathing himself completely inside her sopping wet hole.

“AHHH...please Michael...do it now.” Maria moans, her eye’s closed and head thrown back. She could barely believe that Michael was inside her, filling every inch of emptiness within her.

“So tight Maria, Christ, you’re so tight...you’re mine, forever.” Michael growls

Maria moaned her agreement and joy; she held his body in place, pushing him further and further inside her tight sex. Just the feeling of Maria’s passage around him was almost enough to make him want to cum but what began as a slowly rhythm of Michael inserting his length within her had become an intense barrage of mindless runts and thrusts. Michael was filling her completely, she was complete and it was because of him.

“Jesus, you feel so good.” Michael said.

“Faster Michael...ahhh god...harder, make me cum.” Maria whimpered in his ear, her need is overwhelming she began to clench Michael’s cock with every stroke.

Maria met him thrust for thrust, her small but athletic body matching his own movements in every way. Michael was determined to make her cum first, he loved seeing that in her face when it happened and it always made him reach his own climax a split second later.

“I’m cummiinng...gggoooddd!!! Michaeeelll!!!” Maria finally cried out in release, throwing her head back on the pillow as she pushed her hips down one last time, causing Michael to surrender and join her in the pleasure they had invoked in the other. His dick spewed all his seed into her as her juices soaking Michael’s cock, her cum running down his length and his cock starting to soften, still in her cunt. Her arms wrapped around his neck, her body shaking and convulsing in her orgasm, she held on to Michael as it passed, never wanting to let him go.

Gently, Michael removed her arms; he reached down pulling the blankets tossed off during their love making over their sweaty bodies. Within minutes of whispered I love you’s, they wrapped themselves up under their sheets and enjoyed the heat from each other’s bodies.

Kyle/Tess’s Suite, South Part of the Central Tower, Antarian Section…

Tess and Kyle had been watching television when the mandatory guy came on the screen who denounced the existence of the aliens as a corruptive influence on Earth and that they should be expelled. They knew there would be a few trying to scream at the top of their voices that their existence on Earth would be detrimental.

“Boo.” Tess said

“Get a real job.” Kyle yelled

“I hate these guys.” Tess said

“Just wait till religion gets into it.” Kyle said

“Oh please, most of the ancient gods were aliens. And that opens the door for certain modern faiths to have questionable origins. Hell the only potential truth path his Buddhism and that’s only because an Ancient taught its original form as the path to enlightenment and ascension.” Kyle said, “Wait…do you feel that?”

“Hm, yes. You know I think someone in our little family is having sex right now.” Tess said

“Give you ideas?”

“Last one to bed doesn’t get off for at least an hour.” Tess said

“Deal.” He said and both raced to the bed and fell onto it at the same time. They kissed each other as they undressed their lover an article of clothing at a time until they were both naked.

As they devoured each other’s mouth, Kyle pressed himself down onto her body. She leaned back, gazing up at him smoulderingly as he propped her legs up onto his shoulders. She licked her lips invitingly as her hands slid across her steaming hot body in a luxurious caress; her hands massaged her breasts, her fingers pinched her nipples and teased them to an impossible hardness. Her enticing swells with their pebble-hard tips begged to be sucked and she wanted to feel his lips on her body. Tess arched her back and offered herself to him.

“Oh.” Tess squeaked as Kyle darted forward, latching onto a succulent, quivering globe; biting just hard enough to excite his lover. As she relaxed into it, a cat-like purr rumbled up from her depths as he feasted hungrily on her ripe mounds.

She braced her hands by gripping onto their sheets as she writhed wantonly against his hard body. Kyle could feel how wet she was for him, her juices being smeared all over his cock and abdomen; he loved the way her erect peaks expanded in his mouth as his tongue bathed them each in turn.

“Ugnnnnnn…” Tess sighed, “Kyle, I can’t wait anymore. I want you in me.”

Kyle released her breast and looked into her moist eyes, he fixed her legs back onto his shoulders. With long stroked he caressed her legs from thighs to feet before gently kissing each big toe, sucking them into his mouth. When he was done, Kyle placed his hand on her thigh, holding it securely in place as his other hand guided his hard-on into Tess’s hot depths.

Tess tossed her head back and cried out in a feral growl as she pushed her hips forward into his. Kyle drilled her savagely, overwhelmed by the need to satisfy his own primal appetite. Besides he could feel Tess own uncontrollable desire for him to take her as hard and fast as possible. As his hips pounded between her legs with loud, smacking slaps, the force of his thrusts had her hips buck against the unsecured table, which was moving around on the floor. Tess’s body shook and quivered, her breasts rippled back and forth and her hands were gripped tightly onto the bed. Then she became as still and rigid as a statue, her orgasm was mere seconds away and both knew it; her hips were the only part of her still moving, continuing to work Kyle’s cock inside her.

“AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.” Tess cried out

When Tess came, it was so powerful that Kyle felt as if her muscles would break his cock in two. Her voice was raw with her uninhibited and rampant screams of pleasure; however, the minute her body relaxed and Kyle could resume stroking her, he plunged his cock home until his cries were as loud as hers and he shot a abundant load into Tess’s deepest recesses. As he finished shooting, his body became limp and fell between Tess’s legs. She promptly wrapped all of her limbs around Kyle, holding him securely in place.

“That was incredible. I love you so much.” Kyle breathed out raggedly

“You have no idea.” Tess said, her sensitive nipples scraping into Kyle’s skin.

The kissed each other gently, despite the roughness of their latest coupling the kiss with entirely filled with contentment and love. Their sweat soaked and red flushed bodies clung to each other, neither wanting to let go. Gently he eased his hips back and pulled his cock out of her slit. Tess released her grip and they snuggled together. Very soon all three couples received a message to head to Max and Liz’s room.

Dr Weir’s Office, Central Tower, Atlantis…

Dr Weir was sitting with Max and Logan in her office as they discussed a few new arrangements for their city. “Well, Max I’m sure your people will be very happy here.”

“I know they will. They need a place where there will be constant alien interaction and people wont think of them as freaks.” Max said

“That they certainly won’t experience here.” Weir said

“Are you sure there’s enough room here? With all the people from Pegasus…?” Logan asked

“With all the cities connected there’s plenty of room for your people. With all the people Chaya beamed on board the various sections, the Antarian population and all the people for the expedition, there are still significant amounts of living space.” Weir said

“How are you going to handle it all?” Max said

“Simple. All the races from the Pegasus Galaxy are putting together a ruling body to govern them. They’re calling it the Pegasus Council with Teyla running it. Atlantis as a while will be controlled by Chaya while she educates us all, Max will deal with the Antarians and you the Transgenics. I’ll remain in control of the scientific contingent.” Weir said

“What about Stargate Command? That is their Stargate I’m looking at being installed here isn’t it?” Max asked as she looked out the window.

“Stargate Command is being relocated here and all military will be run by General Landry when he gets here.” Weir said

“And your teams?” Logan asked

“As soon as the gate is online we’ll start sending our teams back out there. All Atlantis and SG teams will be one big happy exploring family.” Weir said as they all stood up and walked out of her office.

“So how are things playing out on the international front?” Logan said

“Not sure yet. It’ll be a few days to determine how things are going to go. The nations already involved with the project are doing what they can to keep the people calm and their little show of solidarity during the President’s initial speech. The problem is the nations that aren’t involved, they are screaming at the UN to know why they haven’t been informed of something of such magnitude.” Weir said

“Understandable.” Logan said, “Of course there’s usually a good reason why they weren’t told.”

“Oh there is. Terrorist states, dictators…the usual mix of troubles and nightmares. People that even I haven’t been able to get through to during my international negotiations before Atlantis.” Weir said

“Speaking of nightmares, I hear that those Wraith ships you took out during the Midway Battle wasn’t their entire fleet.”

“No. At best estimate that was half of the total Wraith population.” Weir said, “So, as of today the Pegasus galaxy is going to be under strict quarantine. The Asgard will enforce it. Thanks to their friends culling the galaxy dry and everyone else here, there is no where near enough humans to sustain what’s left.”

“So, they’ll just starve to death?” Max asked

“Honestly, we don’t know. In order to survive with so few humans left in the galaxy the Wraith will have to enter hibernation so that whoever’s left can produce large enough populations.” Weir said

“How long before they sleep?” Max asked

“The Asgard estimates that it will be a year or two. They’ll try to secure some worlds not on the gate map for the Pegasus, deposit some humans there as a sort of breeding farm that the other Hives can’t locate. But 2 years is the best guess that they will be active. After that, they’ll sleep for a very long time before they have to wake up and feed.” Weir said, “Chaya thinks that in a hundred years or so the Keepers, those that keep an eye out for the sleeping Wraith, will be rationing their food source to a bare minimum to last as long as possible. At that point so few of them will be functional that we could send in ships to Pegasus to destroy their remaining Hives for an all out final strike. Any human left alive there will be free forever. I’m just sorry they will have to wait this long.”

“Yeah, why will they? It’s not like you don’t have the resources to strike now.” Logan asked

“Right now the remaining Wraith don’t have the technology or navigational data to reach this galaxy. If we go back now we risk that informational falling into their hands. At least that’s what the Pentagon tells me. And it’s perfectly valid it’s just that I don’t like the idea of anyone having to be killed through a feeding Wraith.” Weir said

“I’m sure everything will work out in the end.” Logan said

“What about you two? How are things with these…Familiars?” Weir asked

“As Sandeman predicted, they seem to be content to follow me.” Logan said, “Which is strange but then it appears to be what I’m stuck with. They want to remain separate from the Transgenics for the moment but that will change over time.”

“You’re sure?” Weir said

“I’m the last of the family line that leads. Them kneeling down before me kind of covered that. In time the two lines will be all together.” Logan said

“Speaking of which, now that we have a little time off, we need to start thinking about setting a date for the wedding.” Max said

“I couldn’t agree more. In fact, I was thinking about Wednesday the 4th.”

“Three weeks from now?” Max asked and then smiled, “Oh. The anniversary of when we first met, just 15 years earlier.”

“Hmm, I wonder what a negative 15 years anniversary is?” Logan said

“It’s gotta be a first.” Max said as she held Logan’s hand, “And it’s a date.”

Logan then became serious, “We’ve got a lot of work to do to get ready.”

“Oh yeah.” Max said and both headed off to where their people were staying in the city. “Oh Doctor?”

“Yes?” Weir asked

“Don’t suppose you could use a few super-strong Transgenics on your teams?” Max asked, “Some are just itching to see what’s through that gate.”

“Well I’m not in charge of the teams anymore but I think General Landry will be open.” Weir said

“Good, and thanks.” Max said as the couple went off together.

Briefing Room, Stargate Command, Cheyenne Mountain, Same Time

The team had returned to the base and informed Generals O’Neill and Landry of what had happened in the gate room of the city.

“He just walked down and ascended with her?” Jack asked

“Well she is quite attractive if I do say so myself.” Vala said

“You’re her mother. If she had 6 heads and green slimy skin you’d say she was attractive.” Landry said

“So where is he now?” Mitchell asked

“Where was he the last time he ascended?” Jack asked, “I don’t get this. He had trouble following the rules the last time.”

“Something tells me that whatever Daniel is now, he doesn’t answer to the Ancients. I think he and Adria sets the rules now.” Teal’c said

“She’s a mass murdering religious fanatic?” O’Neill said

“That’s what the Ori wanted her to be but that’s changed now.” Vala said

“Oh I can vouch for that.” Daniel said. They all turned around to see him standing and smiling with crossed arms. “Hey Jack, how ya been?”

“Oh fine Daniel, just fine. So how’s things?” Jack asked

“Same old, same old but unexpected things happen all the time around here so this is nothing new.” Daniel said as he walked through the table and then sat down on a chair.

“Yes, unexpected. I hear there was a wedding I didn’t get invited to?” Jack said

“Well…yes, I guess you can call it that. Sorry but it kind of happened fast.”

“Yes, you and your whirlwind romances.” Jack said

“Daniel, what’s going on?” Carter asked

“Adria and I are…learning, I guess you can call it. We’ve already helped a few of the Ancients come to our level. And we’re learning about each other, you know arranged marriages. She and I have a lot to get through but I thought I should stop by and say goodbye.” Daniel said

“That sounds pretty final Dr Jackson?” Landry asked

“It is.” Daniel said, “Where we are…it’s interesting and busy. Last month we helped a new universe come into being.”

“You created a universe?” Teal’c asked

“Yes apparently being the first one up that high up gives us a lot of responsibility.” Daniel said

“Wait, you said last month?” Carter asked

“Oh yeah, time works a little differently up there. Or at least our perception of it. From our perspective of it, it’s been 22 months since the Ori invasion. This was my first opportunity to come back down here to do this.” Daniel said

“Daniel, how is Adria?” Vala asked

“She’s fine. A lot more mellow but she’s starting to work on the Ori home galaxy. She’s been trying to help guide the Ori followers to a new path.”

“So you’re interfering in the lower planes? Reminds me of what got you kicked out the last time.” Jack asked

“Not exactly. We’re influencing and guiding but nothing as outright as the Ori forcing people to believe in them as gods. We need to correct a few things. A lot of things actually, besides the Ascended can’t do anything against someone that Transcendant.” Daniel said

“So what is it like up there? Have you met the Big Boss?” Mitchell asked

“I can’t tell you. There’s no way to describe it but I can tell you that we haven’t. If he does exist he’s still further up than we’ve reached. I guess some things are still intended to be a mystery for us.” Daniel said as he looked up

“Problem?” Jack asked

“Oh just Adria. She doesn’t like it when I’m late.” Daniel said, “Besides a few minutes down here is like a few days up there and our son doesn’t like me being away too long.”

“You’re son?” Vala asked

“Yeah, I didn’t tell you that part did I? Oh well. Yes, we’re parents.” Daniel said

“Daniel, what are you doing with my daughter?” Vala asked

“Me, nothing much. One day we were talking about this little race evolving in the Tarsha Galaxy, talk turned into an argument, then a full blown supernova…thankfully in an uninhabited star system, then all of a sudden she was kissing me and that led to completely unbelievable sex.” Daniel said as he cleared his throat.

“I thought you were both energy?” Carter asked

“We are but some things do happen the same way. Two parts coming together to form something new. Problem is that he just refuses to sleep at nights.” Daniel said, “But I better be going. It was good seeing you all again.”

“One thing before you go scooting off…is there anything we need to know?” Jack asked

“Nothing that I can tell you about. Same stuff you know already, you’ve got allies out there and enemies but things are changing on Earth. Oh yes, Adria would like any survivors from the Ori fleet including Tomin to be sent back to their home. I’ve put the gate address into the Atlantis database. She wants Tomin to lead the restoration back home and if Vala would like to go home with her husband then she could act as a liaison between here and there.” Daniel said, “Bye bye.” With a ripple of light he vanished and returned to his new home.

Mitchell looked at Vala and saw a very bothered expression on her face. “What’s up?”

“I’m a grandmother.” Vala said, “I far too young to be a grandmother.”

Royal Suite, Central Tower, Antarian Section, 15:00

Max and Liz had dressed and invited their family over for a little introduction. Upon arriving on mass they were all stunned to see what they saw.

“Oh my god.” Nancy said

“Mom, I’d like you to meet your granddaughter.” Liz said

“And your grandson.” Max said as he picked up another bundle from the bed

“Twins?” Maria asked

“Twins.” Max said

“Took me by surprise.” Liz said

“No doubt.” Isabel said as she looked at her nephew in her brother’s arms

“Oh they’re beautiful.” Diane said

“Max, you do know I should kill you for this right?” Jeff said

“Daddy.” Liz said in complaint.

“If it makes you feel any better we’re getting married at sundown, out on the balcony.”

“You’re what?” Jeff and Philip said together

“Thought that would take you by surprise.” Liz said with a smile

“Chaya is performing the ceremony. We called her a few minutes before you got here.” Max said

“God, you two work fast.” Maria said

“Yeah.” Max said proudly as he smiled at his son

“Max, can I…?” his mother asked. Max handed him over carefully and Diane took him, “What are their names?” she asked

“This is Steven.” Max said

“And this, is Jessica.” Liz said as she looked to her mother and saw her ask silently if she could hold her. Liz handed her over and Nancy smiled at her granddaughter.

All the while the other Furlings in the room looked at them and felt the urges boil up inside them and their lovers could each feel it happen as well. They all looked at each other like they were ready to rip their clothes off there an then but they kept it down due to the current company. Max and Liz knew it; to be honest they were surprised they didn’t give into the temptation when they were together the same time they were. With a look they silently told the others to wait until they could be alone. It was as though this birth was a signal to the others to start having kids as soon as they liked.

“I’m surprised the Doctor didn’t call us down when they were born.” Amy said

“That’s because there wasn’t a doctor here.” Max said

“Excuse me? You birthed them?” Philip said

“Yes, why wouldn’t I. They’re my children and I do have the collective knowledge of the Ancients so I knew what to do. Besides my powers took the place of any medical instrument I needed and cleaned them off.” Max said

“And in Furling society father’s always birthed the children.” Kyle said, “It’s a part of the family bonding. Out of the mother to the embrace of the father.”

“Which sounds weird I know.” Alex said, “But that’s how the old Furlings used to put it.”

“They are cute through. I’m sure they’ll get over you being their dad pretty quickly.” Michael joked

“Very funny.” Max said

“I thought so.” Michael said

“Well how about when you have a son, you keep him away from my little girl.” Max said

“Oh, already the protective daddy. I like it.” Tess said as she felt Kyle’s hand slide over hers before their fingers interlocked. He looked into her eyes and she could see a predatory gleam in them. She knew what he wanted and would gladly have taken him into her right here against the doorframe but Max subtly cleared his throat. To the parents it looked nothing more like him clearing his throat of a dry spot but a look to the pair told them to cool it, at least for now. Once they get back to their suite they could enjoy their family duties as much as their bodies could withstand and they could withstand a very great deal.

“I can’t believe my brother…is a dad.” Isabel said

“Believe it.” Max said

“These two wont be the last.” Liz said as the new mother and father looked at each other as they took their young from their mothers

“I really, really never need to hear that.” Jeff said

“But these two have the Ancient gene as well, the one that reset Dean and Sara’s children so that they grow up at a human rate of maturation?” Alex asked

“Yes.” Max said

“And they’re hybrids; half Ancient, half Furling with a little human sprinkled in. So they’ve got the abilities of both. Life is going to be incredibly interesting for them.” Liz said

“That is an understatement.” Max said

“What makes you say that?” Philip asked

“Well, watch.” Max said as he raised his and let it glow. His son and daughter looked at it and smiled resulting in tiny little tendrils coming from them that glowed. Each newborn reached out and pointed to items around the room that started to float.

“Okay, now that is cute.” Maria said as Max lowered his hand.

As a result his children stopped what they were doing and withdrew their tendrils. Soon they drifted off into a nice slumber, enjoying the warmth of their parents and the snug Ancient blanket.

Teyla’s Quarters…

Teyla had just come out of a shower and dressed before she had to meet up with some of the surviving Pegasus planet leaders to discuss how they’re going to run their new little government. She opened the door to head out just as John was there reached up to knock on her door.

“John? Is everything okay?” Teyla asked as she saw he was in full gear for offworld duty

“Hm? Oh no. I’ve been assigned to take supplies up to the Mars outpost. It shouldn’t take me more than a couple of hours in the Jumper.” John said

“So do you need me to come?”

“No, you’re not a member of my team anymore, Madam High Councillor.” John said with a smile

“So…?”

“Well, remember when I told you that certain relationships were not permitted between certain people?” John asked

“Yes. Superior officers and juniors. Specifically in the same team because if the relationship didn’t work out it could cause problems for the whole team.” Teyla said and then looked at him, “Oh.”

“Well since you’re now not in my team…I was wondering if you’d like to join me for dinner?” John asked

“I would be delighted.” Teyla said

“It’s just thought that…was that a yes?” John asked

“Yes, that was a yes.” Teyla said with a smile, “To be honest Halling is surprised that you haven’t invited me out before now.”

“You know Ronan said the same thing a few weeks ago. He thought we would have gotten together a while back.” John said

“Well there’s nothing stopping us now.” Teyla said

“No, there isn’t.” John said, “So, I’ll fly up to Mars and drop off their supplies.”

“And I’ve got meetings all day so by the time you get back…”

“We will be able to meet up at around 16:00 tonight.” John said

“Yes, and remind me. There’s only 24 hours in a day here?”

“Yes but McKay’s already altered the city’s time displays.” John said just as a chime went off.

Teyla moved over to the intercom and pressed the button, “Yes?”

“High Councillor, the other representatives are asking for you.”

“Yes, I’m on my way.” Teyla said

“Well, busy, busy.”

“It would appear so.” Teyla said, “I should get there before things fall apart before we’ve even begun. You, don’t be late tonight.”

“Me? You’re the one in meetings all day.” John said

“I never thought I’d miss going out to fight the Wraith.” Teyla said

“I’ll see you later then. And try not to kill anyone.” John said

“I wont.” Teyla said as they stepped out of her room and went their separate paths. That night they had dinner and a lot more once they got back to her quarters, from then on they were virtually inseparable.

Control Room, Central Atlantis, A Few Hours Later

On the main screen of the control room, a feed was being channelled in from one of the now orbiting defence satellites from Mars. They watched as the Darkal and Dolchoi flew away and disappeared into hyperspace. In the room Max and Liz were standing there with their children, ignoring the energetic activities they were feeling from their friends. They were supposed to be preparing for the wedding in 10 minutes but apparently the recent birth proved a little distracting to the breeding instincts of the Furlings, instincts that were spilling over to their lovers.

“Now see, that’s your aunt Sara and uncle Dean with lots of your big cousins. They may not be around for a while but they love you and they want you to grow up big and strong.” Liz said and her daughter giggled.

Once they were gone, Max and Liz turned to see the gate controls come online. Dr McKay had borrowed the dialling tiles from the time travelling Puddle Jumper they discovered a couple of years ago before dismantling the temporal controller and now used them to replace the Pegasus symbols.

“Everything up and running?” Max asked

“Yes.” McKay said and spotted the babies, “Oh. Children. Where did they come from?”

“From me.” Liz said

“Well…that was fast. And very little physical effect.” McKay said as he looked at Liz

“Bloody medical miracle is what it is.” Beckett said. He was still trying to work it out after he examined her.

“No, just advanced Furling physiology.” Liz said, “If it could be duplicated in ordinary humans I would tell you but it’s not. As it is a Furling child would rip it’s way out of the mother and if the woman survived that then she certainly wouldn’t be having any more children. As it is the only species who could handle it is Ancients, well Antarians as well, and that’s because their natural energies make them so robust and have high regenerative rates.”

“Interesting. I guess we’ll just have to evolve a little more then.” Beckett said

“Now.” Max said as he walked Liz to the stairs, “Where would you like to go for a honeymoon?”

“Hmmm, where could we go on this planet that we wouldn’t have every press agency on Earth hounding us?” Liz pondered

“Good point.” Max said

“Oh, there was this file from the SGC. A planet with the gate located on a beach that went on forever and not a single soul anywhere.” Max said as they got to the corridors on route to their room and their wedding.

“Hm, nice and private. A beach where we can run around and swim all day naked? Eat nice fruit from the trees and dote over Steven and Jessica all the time?” Liz asked

“Yes.” Max said

“Where we can make love all day long?” Liz asked with a glint in her eyes

“Yes.” He hissed

“I love you.” She said

“I love you too.” Max said

*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*

Before sun up the next day, little Steven and Jessica had little cousins and all were raised in Atlantis. Over and over again the family visited the new Furling homeworld that they named Shalaria, in Furling it meant Rebirth. Sara and Dean both felt it fitting since that is what they represented. However, the city of Atlantis was their home and as they grew up they love it, they had access to all it’s nooks and crannies while learning everything they could.

The world changed that week, the power and technology of Atlantis was kept isolated from the planet through the use of the shield. They learned from many advanced races that the wrong person even touching one of the smallest of devices could result in global disaster. After a time Atlantis even had it’s own representative seated at the United Nations and as shown in the city, cooperation between nations was certainly possible. Through becoming a nation unto itself, the city’s ambassador helped unify many of the still arguing nations and bring the ones that were working together with the Stargate more closer together.

While Earth suffered from quite a bit of panic over the following days and weeks of the revelations due to learning the nightmares that existed, the wonder of it all began to spark in the imaginations of many. The sheer possibility of what could be started to flood through the population and spread new levels of hope to many. A new military agency was started, one specifically designed to train new recruits for off world duty through either Stargate exploration or through manning star craft. Applications were received by the hundreds and thousands and even countless scientists of every field applied for a position with Atlantis.

Much to McKay’s chagrin, Samantha Carter was named head of scientific research in the city. More to the point, it was a joint position with him. Both dealt with studying the knowledge of the city and any technology that would start coming through the gate again. She eventually resigned her military position and that opened up certain avenues with another who frequented the city for a spot of fishing. Cassie lived with her in the city and she and Jack O’Neill’s teenage clone were virtually inseparable. The two teens did cause quite a stir when they decided to head back to Colorado to pick up things they left there. Weir authorised the use of a Jumper but as they packed up their remaining things the street soon filled with people taking pictures. Cassie just looked at Jack then as she realised he forgot to switch on the cloak.

With the Earth defended by a fleet of ships and defence satellites, the Asgard fleet returned to their home galaxy while Chaya helped them set up a small contingent of scientists in the city to learn what they could to solve the problems with their cloning technology. They even dared to hope that the condition that took away their ability for sexual reproduction could be reversed and their original bodies to be restored. Likewise the Nox returned to their home system, they had a lot to restore on the planet but knew that they could do it.

The Transgenics took to their new life exploring worlds with gusto. The various X-series found they were well suited to the variety of alien environments. Ellie gave birth 8 months later to 2 daughters and a son, and Alec became the proud father who made sure his children wanted for nothing. Apparently their mixed heritage of X5 and X6 DNA provided them with increased agility and speed than either of their parents possessed. It did take a few years but the Familiars were able to come out of the path that their leader had brought them down. Logan may not have wanted to be a leader but he made sure he didn’t screw up, initially they were bred with different abilities ultimately for the defence of their world and not to conquer it. Now they were back on track but they didn’t breed with the Transgenics for a few generations, only Max and Logan had that distinction in their races and their offspring proved to get in as much trouble as their parents. However, while the Transgenics went off world, the Familiars took their talents and provided effective defence of the planet should anyone ever even attempt to invade.

However, it wasn’t long before Kivar raised his head once more. He wasn’t apart of the fleet that attacked Earth but did loose his enhanced abilities with the passing of the Ori but that didn’t stop him. He was intent on reclaiming the Antarian Empire and took up old habits of aligning himself with a Goa’uld, Ba’al. The former system lord was the only one still active and the only Goa’uld with the resources to reclaim what was lost when the Jaffa rebelled. Together the two of them caused more headaches to the new SGC than they were entitled to but they didn’t have a hope of getting through the Antarian shield or Earth’s new defences.

Over the coming years the two worked tirelessly to fulfil their plans but eventually they were taken down. The Jaffa and Tok’ra hunted them, forcing them to relocate from base to base just as the Goa’uld once did when trying to eliminate the Tok’ra. It may have taken a while but they were eventually out of the picture and removed any threat they posed. Similarly as the years rolled on, new enemies rose up to try and get control of Earth’s power and the Atlantis personnel learned more and more of the city’s secrets, the wonders of the Ancients and a few things beyond.

534 years later Earth had become a sizable power in the galaxy. Through the Antarians the Ancients had returned, the descendants of Sara and Dean brought forth a new sizable population of Furlings. The Asgard lived and the Nox had returned to their peaceful lives. One day the four of them got together and made a decision, they came together in four ships and invited representatives of Earth to come in a fifth ship. Together they used their technology to restore the castle and meeting place on PB2-908, Heliopolis, to its former glory. In the meeting place itself another identifying tablet to the wall and humans took their place as the Fifth Race of the most ancient of alliances.

The End.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I hope you enjoyed the last chapter of DNA. I've had fun writing it and my thanks to you all for your comments. Now comes the bad news, or good news depending on your point of view. It was my original intent to begin Other Paths 2 after this, after god knows how many years I finally got a plot line for it but that has been put on hold for now. I will do it...eventually.

However as of today i will be signed up to the Writers Bureaux(a thing here in the UK, don’t know if it's in the US or anywhere else) and beginning to write my own book, my own characters and everything. Oh so bloody nervous  A while ago I wrote a fic called Shadow and Light and it was pretty well received but that idea has never left my head so, hopefully, within the year I will be a published author and you'll be able to read the Moon Peak Chronicles(working title).

Not going to say anything about it other than the fact that it wont be outright adult like my fics on this board and no slash material. If you want to read S&L, the link is under this post, just skip the sex and slash if you want. With luck, a little talent and hopefully no massive screw-ups I will give something to you that you can all enjoy.

I would like to thank RoswellFanatics for carrying my various threads and starting me on this little writing trip.

See ya all around.
Alex.
